We Must Belong to Our Lady to Go to Heaven

The "Notre Dame 88" trusted in Our Lady during their nearly two-year ordeal after being arrested on the campus of a university named in her holy honor. We must trust in Our Lady as well. We can't go to Heaven unless we belong to her. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Revised: Why Live in Fear With Saint Joseph So Near Now As Ever Before

Today is the Solemnity of Saint Joseph in Paschaltide. This brief article is a reminder to those who reader this site that our dear Saint Joseph did not live in fear even in the midst of his greatest sorrows. We must not live in fear in our own lives today. Indeed, why live in fear with Saint Joseph so near? Saint Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church and Protector of the Faithful, pray for us.

Making Dogmas of Assertions

A short article for you to read. There might be another short article posted later today.

I am working on what could turn out to be a three or four part series that is requiring a great deal of research to be completed before it can be written and then sent out for review prior to publication. To give you a head start on the series, though, perhaps a bit of background about Our Man in Rome, which appeared in Boston Magazine on September 18, 2006, will help you to prepare for the series. The "man in Rome" is Bernard "Cardinal" Law, who is still exercising his influence here in the United States of America.

Relentless

Far from being a good shepherd in imitation of the Good Shepherd Himself, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the Chief Priest and Victim of every Mass, Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI is a false shepherd who is relentless in his promotion of the liturgical and doctrinal revolutions of conciliarism. May God have mercy on us all.

This is my follow-up article to Children of Terror. It will not please critics of that first article dealing with the news of the reported killing of Osama bin Laden.

I am sorry for the delay in the posting of this article. It's just not possible any longer to "bounce back" after a week with little sleep and lots of writing (and a bit of driving thrown into the mix). Thank you for your patience.

May 5 Article and Evening Updates, including the dismissal of charges against the "Notre Dame 88"

Rocky Roads in Rocky Times

This is a brief reflection containing entirely subjective observations, a summary, if you will, of some of the experiences that we have had in the past five years since coming, tentatively and hesitantly at first, to the conclusion that those who defect from the Catholic Faith cannot hold ecclesiastical office legitimately. This is a purely subjective set of observations, and nothing other than that.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Pope Saint Pius V, pray for us.

Evening update 1: As fatigue has set in following our two days on the road and a week of long nights of writing, the next original article on this site will appear late tomorrow afternoon or on Saturday. I do want to call to your attention two articles from this time a year ago, Pope Saint Pius V and the Conversion of the Muslims and Pope Saint Pius V and the Conversion of the Conciliarists, touching on the life and work of the saint who has commemorated in the Sacred Liturgy today. Thank you for your patience.

Evening update 2: News has just reached me, at 9:43 p.m., Easter Daylight Saving Time on Thursday, May 5, 2011, that all charges have been dismissed against the "Notre Dame 88." This is the result of tenacious legal work on the part of the defendants' lead attorney, Thomas Dixon, and Christopher Ferrara and other attorneys from the American Catholic Lawyers Association and attorneys for the Thomas More Society. A settlement was reached between those arrested on May 17, 2011, while praying Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary on the campus of the University of Notre Dame du Lac as President Barack Hussein Obama, who has the blood of the innocent preborn (and others) on his hands, gave a commencement address, and officials of the University of Notre Dame. This settlement was the result of many long hours of dedicated work for which all Catholics of good will should pray a Rosary of thanksgiving. Great work, gentlemen. We are in your debt.

Indeed, how supremely fitting it is that this settlement was announced on the Feast of Pope Saint Pius V, a member of the Order of Preachers, who exhorted Catholics to pray the Rosary before and during the Battle of Lepanto on October 7, 1571. This news is yet another victory for Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary and for the sainted pontiff who was so devoted to and reliant upon it.

Think of it: The Notre Dame 88 were arrested for praying the Rosary. The court order agreeing to the prosecutor's arrest was signed on the date of the feast of the sainted pope of the Rosary. This is no accident. This is the result of the intercession of Our Lady of the Rosary herself and of Pope Saint Pius V.

And what a tremendous consolation this must be for Bishop Paul Petko, one of the Notre Dame 88, on the day of his first ordinand's first Mass! God will not be outdone in His generosity to those who are willing to bear the cross and endure everything, including arrest and humiliation, to defend the honor of His Most Blessed Mother.

Deo gratias!

May 4 Update

I have received a few e-mails from correspondents telling me that I have fallen prey to the "Zionist-controlled" media in believing that Osama bin Laden died in a commando raid on May 1, 2011, and not from renal failure in 2001. Oy! Oy! Oy! (Yes, that's a Yiddish phrase. Remember. Although I will never be able to live on my native Long Island again, I am a New Yorker. I picked up a lot of Yiddish phrases. "Oy" is an exclamation of exasperation,

Look, I am not a conspiracy theorist. I am content to wait until the Last Day to find out who killed George Reeves and John Fitzgerald Kennedy and to find out what happened to James Riddle Hoffa and why Carlos Bertan took a called third strike with a full count and the bases loaded with two out in the bottom of the ninth inning of the seventh game of the 2006 National League Championship Series. Yes, historical truth matters. However, I do not rush into accepting various conspiracy theories. Although some are saying that Osama bin Laden died before yesterday, I, for the time being, will accept the account that he was killed on May 1, 2011. I will leave it to others to gather information that I do not have the time to gather. If I have erred in stating that Osama bin Laden died in the American commando raid, I will admit this when I am convinced of the facts.

The point of my article was to note that the celebrations around the country are misplaced because this is a nation of state-sponsored terrorism against God and the preborn and us all! That was the point of my article. I am preparing a follow-up article to deal with the timing of the news, coming as it does when gasoline prices may make it difficult for us to get to Mass or to shop more than once a week. No mater the truth of the death of Osama bin Laden,  this country is the last place to celebrate the news, whether real or manufactured, of the death of a terror mastermind (or, to satisfy those who do not believe that Osama bin Laden was a terrorist, perhaps I should should write alleged terror mastermind).

Yes, the media is in the control of the enemies of the Sacred Divinity of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Yes, government officials tell lies, something that I noted in my article. My focus is beyond the "trees." It is on the restoration of Christendom as the fulfillment of Our Lady's Fatima Message.

Depending upon events in Rome today and the nature of the "homily" that Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI will deliver at the "beatification" of his predecessor as the head of the counterfeit church of conciliarism, Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, my commentary on this travesty will be posted either tomorrow or Tuesday. Easter Sunday Republished Article

Revised: Resurrexi et Adhuc Tecum Sum, Alleluia

Alleluia! He is Risen! Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has made manifest His Easter Victory over sin and eternal death. "O death, where is Thy victory. O death, where is thy sting?"

We shall all indeed rise again: but we shall not all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall rise again incorruptible: and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption; and this mortal must put on immortality. And when this mortal hath put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?

Now the sting of death is sin: and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who hath given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast and unmoveable; always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Cor. 15: 51-58)

Our Lord made His Easter Victory over sin and eternal death manifest first to His Most Blessed Mother, who stood so valiantly at the foot of His Most Holy Cross as she cooperated completely in His Redemptive Act, bringing us forth as the spiritual sons and daughters of the living God in great pain by means of adoption. W need to rely on the help of Our Lady as the consecrated slaves of Her Divine Son through her own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart so that we may persevere in a state of Sanctifying Grace with perfect contrition for our sins until the moments of our deaths so that our bodies and souls will be resurrected on the Last Day at the General Judgment of the Living and the Dead and counted among those destined for the enjoyment of an unending Easter Sunday of glory in Paradise.

Nothing else matters if we save our souls by cooperating with the graces won for us by the shedding of every single drop of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood on the wood of the Holy Cross and that flow into our hearts and souls through the loving hands of Our Lady, she who is the Mediatrix of All Graces. Nothing else matters if we fail to soul our souls.

This glorious day of Easter rejoicing is meant to be but a foretaste of Heaven. Let us live as redeemed creatures as we reject the naturalism of Modernity and the Modernism of the soul-killing agents of the counterfeit church of conciliarism. This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad!

A blessed Easter Sunday to you all!

New articles will resume tomorrow, Easter Monday, April 25, 2011.

Holy Saturday Republished Reflection

Republished: A Day of Anticipation After A Night of Waiting

Silence filled the earth in the forty hours between the death of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on the wood of the Holy Cross yesterday, Good Friday, and His glorious Resurrection at dawn on Easter Sunday. Silence filled the earth as the God-Man went down into Limbo to announce the news of His Redemptive Act to the souls of the just who had awaited His Coming and His Sacrifice in atonement for the sins of all men from the beginning until the end of time.

Given the state of the Church Militant on earth during this time of papal vacancy, some Catholics, including ourselves, will be anticipating Our Lord's Resurrection this morning during the Easter Vigil that was not touched the Annibale Bugnini-inspired Holy Week changes that went into effect in 1956, is followed. Others will be following the Easter Vigil, offered after dark, that was in effect at the time of the death of Pope Pius XII  No matter when the Easter Vigil is offered, however, we spend the first hours of this day (from Midnight until the Easter Vigil) continuing our prayers of gratitude as we mourn the death of Our Divine Redeemer by means of our sins.

Christ the King is the Light of the World. It is His light that is symbolized by the Easter fire that is lit at the beginning of the Easter Vigil. The Light of Christ breaks through the darkness of sin and eternal death, leading us by the fire of His bright, burning love as we continue our desert journey of life to the Promised Land of the New and Eternal Canaan made possible by His immolation on the wood of the Holy Cross yesterday, Good Friday. We must follow the Light of Christ  as He, the New Moses, leads us as the first Moses led the Hebrew people as he followed a column of cloud during the day and a column of fire during the night, as we reminded once again during the Prophecies that are read during the Easter Vigil.

The Light of Christ, Our Crucified and Resurrected Saviour, will penetrate the souls of those who are baptized today and of those who are confirmed. It will penetrate the souls of those of us who were unable to receive Him in Holy Communion yesterday at the Mass of the Presanctified. It will penetrate the souls of those who are regenerated once again in the Sacred Tribunal of Penance. The Light of Christ that is symbolized by the Paschal Candle is meant to permeate every aspect of our lives without any exception at any time for any reason.

The Light of Christ has indeed broken through the darkness of sin and eternal death. Our Lord is making manifest His Easter Victory over the power of sin and eternal death. A fifty day period of glorious celebration is about to break upon us. Although the Easter Vigil is a long ceremony, eternity is forever. We can certainly spend five hours basking in the glories of the Sacred Liturgy that are, after all, a foretaste of eternal glories, can we not? The rewards are truly Heavenly, rewards that we could not have unless the Co-Eternal and Co-Equal Son obeyed His Heavenly Father out of love for him and out of love for us so that we could have access to the treasures of His Most Sacred Heart here through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

It is still too early to use the forbidden "A------a" word that we have not heard since Septuagesima Sunday. However, it is not too early to look forward to its use prior to the proclamation of the Gospel during the Easter Vigil Mass.

A blessed Holy Saturday to you.

Good Friday Republished Reflection

Republished: The Most Solemn Day of the Year (2011)

This is the day that our sins transcended time and played their significant parts in putting God to death. The greatest crime in the history of the world was committed this day, Deicide, and we were among the guilty parties putting God on trial and then subjecting Him to horrible and painful humiliations and scourgings before we nailed Him to the wood of the Holy Cross, upon which He paid back to His Co-Equal and Co-Eternal Father the debt of our sins.

Yes, there is no greater crime than Deicide. There is also no greater act of love in all of human history as Love Incarnate took upon Himself the guilt of our sins though He was guilty of nothing. It was out of love for His Co-Equal and Co-Eternal Father's Holy Will and His matchless love for us that He, Who had instituted the Priesthood and the Eucharist last evening at the Last Supper, that He subjected Himself to the hands of us sinful men, even going so far as to make excuses for us, His executioners, as He hung on the gibbet of the Holy Cross.

This great act of sacrificial, redemptive love of the God-Man, Who had become Incarnate in His Most Blessed Mother's Virginal and Immaculate Womb by the power of God the Holy Ghost, is re-presented in an unbloody manner on altars of Sacrifice by true bishops and true priests every day of the year except for today, Good Friday. Our focus today is on mourning for our sins and expressing our gratitude that we have been redeemed by the shedding of every single drop of the Most Precious Blood of Our Divine Redeemer, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as we ask Our Lady to help us to grow in a greater fervor for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass as we grow more and more detached from even our Venial Sins and come to despise them as much as we despise any Mortal Sins that, God forbid, we may have committed.

This is a day of solemnity and sobriety, a day of total withdrawal from the world and its madness. We spend our time in church today as we keep Our Lord company at the Altar of Repose prior to noon and as we participate in the Mass of the Presanctified. Our sins put God to death. We helped to murder God in the very Flesh.

How does God repay us ungrateful and frequently lukewarm sinners? He gives us the true Church, born out of the Blood and Water that flowed forth from His wounded side when It was pierced by Saint Longinus's lance, making possible our regeneration in the Baptismal font and in the Sacred Tribunal of Penance, making it possible for us therefore to receive His very Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Most Blessed Sacrament in Holy Communion. And he give us His Blessed Mother, she who is our Co-Redemptrix, our Mediatrix and our Advocate, to be our Blessed Mother as He entrusts her to Saint John the Evangelist, whose fidelity to Our Lord on this day is meant to foreshadow our own fidelity by means of assisting at daily Mass frequently and of persevering until the point of our dying breaths in states of Sanctifying Grace by remaining a as close to Our Lady as he was.

Will we repay Our Divine Redeemer Who was nailed to the Cross this day with a true effort to amend our lives? Will we repay Our Divine Redeemer Who shed every single drop of His Most Precious Blood this day with a greater effort to take seriously our consecration to His Most Sacred Heart through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary? Will we seek to live at all times in light of First and Last Things as we bear our own crosses with love and joy and gratitude?

Our Lady stands ready to help us to bring us to Calvary every day. Sure, we must make the same kind of effort as Saint Helena made to find the site of the True Cross in the Fourth Century as the Mass has indeed been taken away by spiritual robber barons. However, Our Lady does indeed stand ready to help us to make whatever sacrifices we need to make to assist exclusively at Masses offered by true bishops and true priests who make no concessions to conciliarism or to the nonexistent legitimacy of its false shepherds who cater to the ancient enemies of the Faith and who promote one falsehood after another.

Will we let Our Lady lead us to these true offerings of Holy Mass so that we can be ready to die at any time and thus to enjoy an unending Easter Sunday of glory in Heaven?

May we give thanks and praise to Our Lord through His Blessed Mother's Immaculate Heart this day for the wondrous mystery of His love that has made possible our eternal salvation.

Maundy Thursday Republished Article (Evening Edition)

Republished: Enter the Passion

This article, written in 2008, is a reflection on the suffering that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ endured in the Garden of Gethsemane atop the Mount of Olives.

It is now the hour of darkness. Our Lord suffers in His Sacred Humanity as He contemplates the horror of coming into contact with the very antithesis of His Sacred Divinity, our sins. He sees all of the sins of  all men from the beginning until the end of time as He agonized in the Garden as the same three Apostles who accompanied Him to the top of Mount Thabor as He was Transfigured in glory before their very eyes, Saints Peter, James and John, fell fast asleep. May we stay awake and alert during this night as we keep Our Lord company in His Real Presence on the Altar of Repose as we render unto him acts of adoration and thanksgiving and reparation and petition through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Maundy Thursday Republished Articles (Morning Edition)

Republished: Novi et Aeterni Testamenti

Today is Maundy Thursday, the day on which Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ instituted the Holy Priesthood and the Eucharist at the Last Supper for our sanctification and salvation. Although Our Lord would enter deep into His Passion immediately after the completion of the Last Supper as He suffered His Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, He wonderfully gave us the Holy Priesthood of the New Dispensation as He instituted the New and Eternal Covenant that He would ratify by the shedding of every single drop of His Most Precious Blood on the wood of the Holy Cross tomorrow, Good Friday. We must express our gratitude to Him at all times for giving us the Priesthood so that we can have access on a daily basis to His own Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in Holy Communion, made present for us on altars of Sacrifice by true bishops and true priests in this time of apostasy and betrayal

This is a day to keep watch with Our Lord in His Real Presence at the Altar of Repose, remembering most importantly to beg Our Lady to make more and more voluntary sacrifices to make reparation to the Most Sacred Heart of her Divine Son through her own Immaculate Heart for our sins and those of the whole world.

Keep writing, keep writing. That's what some of this site's very few readers keep urging me to do. This republished article, written last year, is another brief reflection on the love of the Cross that should characterize every moment of our lives. Are our hearts ready to enter into the Sacred Mysteries of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Passion, Death, and Resurrection? Are our hearts ready? Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.

Another Thirty Pieces of Silver Thrown Away

This is, in comparison, with some of the last few articles, that is, a relatively short commentary on the thirty pieces of silver that the American Ambassador to Malta, Douglas Kmiec, took when supporting then United States Senator Barack Hussein Obama (D-Illinois) when the latter was running to be elected to the office of the President of the United States of America. Although Kmiec has thrown away his thirty pieces of silver, resigning his ambassadorship in a fit of pique, he still retains his "respect" for the unreconstructed pro-abort who has advanced one grave evil after another in the past thirty-nine months. At last Judas Iscariot had remorse when he threw away his thirty pieces of silver. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Dr. Robert Moynihan of Inside the Vatican has become a "mentalist" in an effort to find some way to excuse the late Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II's kissing a copy of the blasphemous Koran in 1999. This is my not-so-brief response. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Today is the second anniversary of the death of Father Vincent Bowes, O.C.D., whose remarkable life of priestly service and astounding message was chronicled in Bookended From Birth to Birth. April 17, Palm Sunday, Articles

This is Palm Sunday. We enter now into the most solemn week of the year as we withdraw more and more from the world and its false allurements to unite ourselves as never before with the events of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Passion and Death prior to experiencing the glory of His Resurrection following the Easter Vigil Mass this Saturday, April 23, 2011, and on Easter Sunday, thus beginning a marvelous celebration of the Octave of Easter and the Easter season. We need Our Lady's help to keep and to intensify our Lenten penances this week. May our reliance upon the Most Sorrowful Mysteries of her Holy Rosary aid us in understanding what our sins did to her Divine Son and to her and how grateful we must be for being the unmerited beneficiaries of the Mercy won for us on the wood of the Holy Cross and for being given from that Cross so great and wonderful and perfect a mother as she, Our Blessed Mother, is to us by Our Divine Redeemer Himself.

I offer once again From Eden to the Empty Tomb, written for the printed pages of Christ or Chaos in 1997 and revised a bit over the years, is a review of salvation history from Special Creation to Palm Sunday (I've broken up the reflections on the Paschal Triduum and elaborated on these over the years). Perhaps I will revisit it and improve it one year. For the time being, however, this is what I have to offer you.

Finally, Coloring Everything He Says and Does, part two took all day yesterday to complete. It is nothing approaching an exhaustive treatment of the false "pontiff's" new book. It is enough for the time being, however. I will do more on the subject as time and the circumstances of the moment permit in the coming months. This is enough for now.

A blessed Palm Sunday to you all!

Coloring Everything He Says and Does, part one

This is part one of a two-part series that provides a key, if you will, to understand Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI's Jesus of Nazareth: Holy Week: From the Entrance into Jerusalem to the Resurrection, providing one example of how this key can be applied to book's text. Part two will provide a few more examples of the pure Modernism at work in the false "pontiff's" "unofficial" book that he says anyone can criticize as it is not a "papal" work, which, of course, it is not because he is not the "pope."

Make no mistake about it, however, Ratzinger/Benedict's beliefs stated in his new book color everything he says and does as "Pope" Benedict XVI as they reflect his lifelong commitment to Modernism by way of the "new theology."

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Part two should be posted by tomorrow, Palm Sunday, in addition to links to republished reflections on Holy Week.

April 15 Revised Article (and article was published late yesterday, April 14; see below)

Revised: Our Mother of Sorrows, 2011

Unfathomable. Just unfathomable

Only a handful of genuine mystics and truly gifted spiritual masters have been able to comprehend the unfathomable mysteries of grief that overwhelmed the fairest creature of our race, Our Lady, as those Seven Swords of Sorrow were plunged through and through her Immaculate Heart.

We sin so casually, so thoughtlessly, so repeatedly, rarely giving a moment's worth of a meditation to how our least Venial Sins caused Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to suffer unspeakable horrors during His Passion and Death, horrors that penetrated the Immaculate Heart of His Most Blessed Mother as she, conceived without any stain of Original or Actual Sin, suffered in a perfect communion of Hearts with Him.

It cannot be that way with us from this day forward. We are on the cusp of Holy Week, ending now the first week in Passiontide, Passion Week. We must enter deep into the mysteries of our salvation, which was wrought for us by the perfect obedience of the Word made Flesh in Our Lady's Virginal and Immaculate Womb to the Will of His Co-Equal and Co-Eternal Father. We must quit our sins once and for all, recognizing how they caused the God-Man and His Most Blessed Mother to suffer, how they wound our own souls, which have been purchased by the shedding of every single drop of the Divine Redeemer's Most Precious Blood, and how they have brought great sorrow into the Heart out of which was formed Our Redeemer's Most Sacred Heart. No more sin. No more joking about sin. No more dismissiveness about the gravity of sin. We must repent and amend our lives as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Our Lady brought forth her Divine Son painlessly and miraculously. She brought us forth in great pain as the adopted children of the Living God as she stood so valiantly by the foot of the Cross on Good Friday. She stands by the foot of her Divine Son's Most Holy Cross in every true offering of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass by a true bishop or a true priest. We must stand by her each day at Holy Mass as we make reparation for our sins and those of the whole world with every beat of our hearts, making sure as well to pray as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit.

Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.

My next original article may not appear until tomorrow. It is a review of some aspects of a certain book written by a certain false claimant to the See of Peter, who, according to the false claimant, may or may not have delivered the "Resurrection" proclamation" on Pentecost Sunday in Jerusalem. Work has begun on this task. To say that it is an oppressive task is a mild understatement. It is, though, Passiontide. Such a penance can be most efficacious if offered up to the throne of the Most Blessed Trinity through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Finally, we have received some forwarded mail, sent from Connecticut last week. Thank you notes will be sent to the generous souls who provided us with non-tax-deductible financial gifts. We are still, though, missing any mail sent between March 20 and March 31. Please do advise me if you sent mail within that time frame as it appears to be lost somewhere within the bureaucracy known as the United States Postal Service. As We Continue To Blaspheme Christ the King and His True Church

Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI continues to mock God and blaspheme Him. Who are said by some to be the chief menaces to souls in the world? Ratzinger/Benedict. No! Sedevacantists are said to be the chief menaces in the world, part of an "enterprise" engaged in the sin of "presumption" by daring to conclude that the men who have pretended to be true Successors of Saint Peter expelled themselves from the bosom of Holy Mother Church long, long before their apparent "elections."

Although there is a lot of familiar material in this article, that which is familiar has been revised and updated with new commentary.

When are going to realize that Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict deceives souls as He offends God. No true pope has ever done such a thing by means of  his public words and deeds.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

To Be Loved by the Jews

Well, that's been one of the goals of the conciliar "popes," including the current one, Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, and the one he will "beatify" in but twenty days, Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II.

The Gospel accounts that we read during Passiontide speak of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's condemnation of the Jews, who knew that He was God yet found it more expedient to deny Him in order to aggrandize themselves. It is no different of the Talmudists of today, who, though not of the stock of Abraham, at least for the most part, continue to war against Christ the King and His true Church now just as the Pharisees of old did against Our Lord in the very Flesh.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Pope Leo the Great, pray for us.

Please pray for the soul of Mrs. Patricia Manning, a Catholic woman in her nineties who died in Rhode Island a few days ago. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Please pray also for a faithful of the flock of Saint Albert the Great Roman Catholic Church in Fairfield, Ohio, Mr. Andrew Debrosse, who is seriously ill with cancer.

Finally, we have not as of yet received much of our forwarded mail. It appears as though two weeks worth of mail is lost. Although there was not a lot of mail waiting for us in Connecticut on Friday, March 18, 2011, when we checked it then, I do know that a few pieces have been sent to us since that time. Please accept my apologies if any of you have sent a non-tax-deductible financial gift since that time and have not received a reply from us as the reason that you have not heard from us is that we have not received our mail and thus have no idea what has been lost. It is Lent, after all. All to thee, Blessed Mother. All to thy Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, we love you. Save souls.

April 10 Passion Sunday Republished Article

Republished: To Forgive As We Are Forgiven, 2011

One of the recurring themes in my writing is the obligation each of us has as a Catholic to forgive others as we have been forgiven so freely and so readily by Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ acting through an alter Christus in the Sacred Tribunal Penance. There is nothing that anyone can do to us, say about us or cause us to suffer, whether emotionally or physically, that is the equal of what one of our least Venial Sins caused the God-Man to suffer in His Sacred Humanity during His Passion and Death as the Fourth through Seven Swords of Sorrow pierced the Immaculate Heart of His Most Blessed Mother. If He forgives us recidivist sinners, steeped in the spiritual mediocrity of lukewarmness, so readily and so frequently, who are we to hesitate for a moment to forgive others anything and everything, whether real or imagined or exaggerated, that they have have said about us or done to us?

Our Lord entered His Passion so as to redeem us and thus to make it possible for us to know His forgiveness, first in the Baptismal font and then in the Sacred Tribunal of Penance (and, for our Venial Sins, every time a priest administers Absolution following the recitation of the Confiteor in the offering of Holy Mass). We must make good use of this Passiontide to be more forgiving as we seek out the mercy of the Divine Redeemer through the ministrations of a true priest acting in persona Christi in the confesional.

As a sinner who has been forgiven much in the Sacred Tribunal of Penance, I have no energy at all (Deo gratias!) for nursing petty grudges and stewing in my juices about the judgments of others. Our sins imposed an unjust judgment on God in the very Flesh. It is good for us to suffer humiliation and rejection and calumny and scorn and derision. Very good for us. The more we suffer with love and gratitude is the more that we can unite ourselves to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. And even if we are the victims of real injustices and calumnies, so what? So what? Everything gets revealed on the Last Day at the General Judgment of the Living and the Dead. Each of the just will be reconciled one to the other at that time. That happy reconciliation then can only take place, however, if we forgive others from our hearts in the here and now of this passing, mortal vale of tears!

Let's make this the best Passiontide of our lives, grateful to Almighty God that He has brought us to the beginning of yet another Passiontide, uncertain though we may be as to we will live to see Easter Sunday in this passing, mortal vale of tears just two weeks from now on Sunday, April 24, 2011.

Celebrating Apostasy and Dereliction of Duty

Are you ready for the "biggest show in town" on Low Sunday, May 1, 2011? Well, the upcoming "beatification" of Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II is no cause for celebration. It is, quite indeed, a day that should mark on our own calendars as one of prayerful reparation, something that I explain very briefly at the end of this very brief article. Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death.

Finally, I have been alerted to a new website that contains the translated writings of Father Luigi Villa, the priest who has written extensively about the "beatification" of Giovanni Montini/Paul VI and Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II and the whereabouts of the body of Padre Pio. Although Father Villa does not come to the logical conclusion produced by the evidence he has amassed, namely, that the conciliar "popes" expelled themselves from the bosom of Holy Mother Church long before their apparent "elections" to the Throne of Saint Peter, his work is a treasure trove of information. Here is the website: www.padrepioandchiesaviva.com.

Night and Day

Night and day. That's the difference between conciliarism and Catholicism. Night and day. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Oh, did you miss yesterday's article? Well, it was posted in the early part of last evening, Eastern Daylight Saving Time. It's right below in case you've been holding your collective breath to read it. (I am joking, folks!).

Something that I am not joking about, however, is the bittersweet moment that occurred yesterday when a motor vehicle that played such an important part in our lives for almost exactly ten years was sold to new owners, who have the mechanical wherewithal to repair it at but a fraction of the cost that we would have had to spend ourselves. Oh, yes, we took a "bath" on the sale. A nice family will, though, be able to make good use of it once various repairs are completed. It was, to be honest, a little sad to see our old home on wheels depart yesterday. It was time to let it go rather than see it sit in storage.

We are grateful to Our Lord and His Most Blessed Mother for the years we had it, grateful also, of course, to Saint Joseph that we were able to buy it in the first place in Albuquerque, New Mexico,on Thursday, July 12, 2001. It was the instrument of a great deal of penance, each of which was chosen for us from all eternity from the loving hand of God for His greater honor and glory and our own sanctification through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of His Most Blessed Mother. It was also the means that we got to know many fine Catholics across the country. And even though the divisions of the moment have separated us from some of those good Catholics, we remember with fondness the times that we enjoyed with them and are always grateful to those who assisted us at various points in our seemingly endless journeys no matter what they may think of us now or the work of this site in the past five years.

Here is a photograph of the motor home about an hour before it left us:

(Yes, that's last minute cleaning you see on the side of the street, including a box of tapes from my "Living in the Shadow of the Cross" lecture program that was given at Our Lady of Peace Church in Santa Clara, California, from January to March of 2001.)

Here is the motor home as it was being driven off after the sale had been completed yesterday afternoon:

Long live the motor home! May it serve its new owners well after getting the repairs that it needs.

All to thee, Blessed Mother. All to thy Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, we love you. Save souls!

You want more details? You'll have to wait for the travelogue, which itself has had to await the completion of other projects. All in due time. Thanks for your patience.

Saint Vincent Ferrer and Anti-Saint Vincent Ferrers

Although it is now in the early evening, Eastern Daylight Saving Time, of the Feat of Saint Vincent Ferrer, O. P., I did want to post this article contrasting the zeal of Saint Vincent Ferrer for the conversion of Jews and Mohammedans with his antitheses in the counterfeit church of conciliarism who do not believe that they have a mission from God to seek with urgency the conversion of the souls of any non-Catholics, including adherents of the Talmud and the Koran. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Vincent Ferrer, O. P., pray for us.

More Zeal for a False God Than Catholics Have for the True God

Mohammedans are rioting and killing Westerners in Afghanistan after their corrupt president informed them about the burning of the blasphemous document known as the Koran by Protestant self-seekers named Terry Jones and Wayne Sapp in Gainesville, Florida, on Sunday, March 20, 2011, the Second Sunday in Lent. Mohammedans have more misplaced zeal for their false god, Allah, and their false prophet, Mohammed, and their hideous "holy book," the Koran, than most Catholics have for the honor and glory and majesty of God that have been blasphemed so arrogantly and so publicly by the conciliar "popes" and their "bishops." May God have mercy on us all. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. Saint Isidore of Seville, pray for us.

To Fall Into The Hands of the Living God

Another Catholic who gained prominence as she supported the nonexistent "right" of women to kill their innocent preborn babies under cover of the civil law has died without publicly abjuring her support for one of the four sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance. She will be buried with full honors out of his parish church in Forest Hills, Queens, New York. It may not be a terrible thing for a Catholic in the counterfeit church of conciliarism to die without abjuring support for chemical and surgical abortions. It is, however, a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint John Damascene, pray for us.

Republished: Images to Last For An Eternity

Many of the conciliar revolutionaries have smashed statues of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and Our Lady and Saint Joseph and other saints with an iconoclastic abandon. The great saint we celebrate today, Saint John Damascene, fought the iconoclasts in his day. And while many, although far from all, of our Catholic churches are now in the hands of the conciliar iconoclasts, we can festoon our homes with images of Our Lord and Our Lady and Saint Joseph and other saints as we use these images to remind us of we are united to the saints represented in these images by means of the Communion of Saints and that we hope to share Heaven with them for all eternity in the glory of the Beatific Vision.

Today is, of course, our daughter Lucy's ninth birthday and the third anniversary of her First Holy Communion. Please pray for her. Thank you.

Finally, the Reverend Mister Michael Oswalt, whose courageous example of fidelity to the truth was chronicled almost exactly two years ago now in Embracing The Faith No Matter the Consequences, is being ordained to the diaconate today by His Excellency Bishop Mark A. Pivarunas at Mount Saint Michael Church in Spokane, Washington. We have assured this courageous man of our own prayers. I ask each of you to pray for him as well. He will be conditionally ordained to the Holy Priesthood on June 29, 2011.

March 25 Articles, including new article (posted at midday)

Republished: Et Verbum Caro Factum Est

A republished article is offered on this great feast day, which is such an oasis in Lent, is offered today as a new article is in the process of being completed prior to posting later today.

The republished article is a brief reflection on the feast we celebrate today, the feast which signifies the moment when the Second Person of the Most Blessed Trinity, the very Word through Whom all things were made, personally entered into human history as He was made Incarnate in the Virginal and Immaculate Womb of His Most Blessed Mother by the power of the Third Person of the Most Blessed Trinity, God the Holy Ghost, Who overshadowed Our Lady after she had given her perfect Fiat to the Will of the First Person of the Most Blessed Trinity, God the Father, as that Will was made known to her by Saint Gabriel the Archangel. The whole of human history is changed today--and no one can remain neutral about what happened on this day.

If the Second Person of the Most Blessed Trinity really did become Man this day in Our Lady's Virginal and Immaculate Womb so as to redeem us on the wood of the Holy Cross thirty-three years later, as we know is indeed the case, then every person and every nation on the face of this earth must acknowledge this fact and subordinate everything to the Deposit of Faith that He has entrusted exclusively to His Catholic Church for Its eternal safekeeping and infallible explication. We must pray to Our Lady every day so that we will never lose sight of the centrality of the Incarnation in our own lives and in the lives of our nations, never lose sight of the fact that Holy Mass itself is Incarnational as the Word Who was made Incarnate in her Virginal and Immaculate Womb is made Incarnate on altars of sacrifice under the appearances of bread and wine by true bishops and true priests.

Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ spent nine months in the tabernacle of Our Lady's Virginal and Immaculate Womb, thereby sanctifying the wombs of al mothers. He is in solidarity with every child in every mother's womb. Every abortion, whether by chemical or surgical means, is an indirect attack on the Incarnation that took place this very day.

A blessed Feast of the Annunciation of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to His Most Blessed Mother by Saint Gabriel the Archangel to you all.

Idols to the Left, Idols to the Right, part one

One God for Life and at Death

Another new article. Another new and very short article. Are you keeping up with the new and shorter articles? Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Before I shut down the computer for the evening (yes, this article is being posted around 10:10 p.m., Eastern Daylight Saving Time on Tuesday, March 22, 2011), I do want to call your attention to an excellent "Note from Father Markus Ramolla" that can be found by pressing on the "download the bulletin" button at http://www.albertthegreat.org/bulletins/SAG%20Bulletin%2003-20-11.pdf. Father Ramolla's note is an excellent assessment of the current state of the traditional movement, such as it is in this time of apostasy and betrayal.

Midday Update: Mr. Jerry Meng, who offered Joseph Ratzinger Is Not the Pope to Catholic Family News before it was published on this site, has written another excellent study, Heresy: What Is It?, that is being posted on this site after Mr. Meng had waited to to see if Catholic Family News was going to publish it. As he has had no response to the requests that he had made for a decision about the article, Mr. Meng graciously accepted my own offer to publish his very fine study. While I pray for my former colleagues every day, my concern is to the truth as I know it to be, and it is my conviction that Mr. Meng's newest article makes a solid contribution to the cause of truth, which is why it is being published on this site. I thank Mr. Meng for the permission that he has given for its publication.

Several people have sent me a link to what is inarguably the most definitive case against the upcoming "beatification" of Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II that has been made thus far. The article, by Father Luigi Villa, who publishes the Chiesa Viva magazine, does not come to the logical conclusion that is required as a result of the massive evidence of Wojtyla's multiple defections from the Catholic Faith, namely, that he lost the Faith in his youth and therefore was incapable of holding any office in the Catholic Church legitimately, less yet that of the papacy. Nevertheless, however, the article is a wealth of information that is irrefutable: http://www.ourladyofgoodsuccess.com/frames-3-4-2005/chiesa-viva/Chiesa%20viva%20430%20S%20en[2].pdf. I would caution readers that the article contains graphic photographs of indecently dressed individuals, including Wojtyla himself, and should not be viewed by the young or by others who desire to avoid such photographs, most of which were taken at public events that were without any precedent in the history of the Catholic Church.

What applies to Wojtyla, a disciple of the "New Theology," which is nothing other than a repackaged form of Modernism, applies as well to Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI. No one can hold the ideas that they have propagated or have said or done the things that they have and remain a member of the Catholic Church:

The Church, founded on these principles and mindful of her office, has done nothing with greater zeal and endeavour than she has displayed in guarding the integrity of the faith. Hence she regarded as rebels and expelled from the ranks of her children all who held beliefs on any point of doctrine different from her own. The Arians, the Montanists, the Novatians, the Quartodecimans, the Eutychians, did not certainly reject all Catholic doctrine: they abandoned only a certain portion of it. Still who does not know that they were declared heretics and banished from the bosom of the Church? In like manner were condemned all authors of heretical tenets who followed them in subsequent ages. "There can be nothing more dangerous than those heretics who admit nearly the whole cycle of doctrine, and yet by one word, as with a drop of poison, infect the real and simple faith taught by our Lord and handed down by Apostolic tradition" (Auctor Tract. de Fide Orthodoxa contra Arianos).

The practice of the Church has always been the same, as is shown by the unanimous teaching of the Fathers, who were wont to hold as outside Catholic communion, and alien to the Church, whoever would recede in the least degree from any point of doctrine proposed by her authoritative Magisterium. Epiphanius, Augustine, Theodore :, drew up a long list of the heresies of their times. St. Augustine notes that other heresies may spring up, to a single one of which, should any one give his assent, he is by the very fact cut off from Catholic unity. "No one who merely disbelieves in all (these heresies) can for that reason regard himself as a Catholic or call himself one. For there may be or may arise some other heresies, which are not set out in this work of ours, and, if any one holds to one single one of these he is not a Catholic" (S. Augustinus, De Haeresibus, n. 88).

The need of this divinely instituted means for the preservation of unity, about which we speak is urged by St. Paul in his epistle to the Ephesians. In this he first admonishes them to preserve with every care concord of minds: "Solicitous to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace" (Eph. iv., 3, et seq.). And as souls cannot be perfectly united in charity unless minds agree in faith, he wishes all to hold the same faith: "One Lord, one faith," and this so perfectly one as to prevent all danger of error: "that henceforth we be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the wickedness of men, by cunning craftiness, by which they lie in wait to deceive" (Eph. iv., 14): and this he teaches is to be observed, not for a time only - "but until we all meet in the unity of faith...unto the measure of the age of the fullness of Christ" (13). But, in what has Christ placed the primary principle, and the means of preserving this unity? In that - "He gave some Apostles - and other some pastors and doctors, for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ" (11-12). (Pope Leo XIII, Satis Cognitum, June 29, 1896.)

In other words, there is no such thing as an "irreducible" minimum number of truths that one must hold in order to be a Catholic. It is all or nothing. There is zero evidence from our Church Fathers and there is zero doctrinal support for any contention that one remains a Catholic by holding a certain number of unspecified truths while defecting from others. It is all or nothing.

There should be another new article on this site by tomorrow morning, Thursday, March 24, 2011, the Feast of Saint Gabriel the Archangel.

After three nights of late-night writing after long days of travel, including the night on which my "lost" article was eaten, I offer you today a republished article from last year. This article deals with the a contrast between Saint Benedict of Nursia and Benedict XVI. There should be an original article by late tomorrow afternoon. Finally, I received a phone call yesterday, Sunday, March 20, 2011, from my eldest first cousin, who turned sixty-seven years ago of age on March 4, 2011, that his father, my late father's only brother, died yesterday in Texas at the age of ninety-three years, five months. Please pray for the repose of the soul of my Uncle Ed, with whom we visited for the last time on February 25, 2011, and for the consolation of his family at this time.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace. Amen.

Refusing to Read the Signs of the Times

President George Walker Bush authorized military airstrikes against Libya yesterday, March 19, 2011. Well, you get the idea. Let me spell it out for you, however:

My fellow citizens, at this hour American and coalition forces are in the early stages of military operations to disarm Iraq, to free its people and to defend the world from grave danger.

On my orders, coalition forces have begun striking selected targets of military importance to undermine Saddam Hussein's ability to wage war. These are opening stages of what will be a broad and concerted campaign.

More than 35 countries are giving crucial support, from the use of naval and air bases, to help with intelligence and logistics, to the deployment of combat units. Every nation in this coalition has chosen to bear the duty and share the honor of serving in our common defense.

To all of the men and women of the United States armed forces now in the Middle East, the peace of a troubled world and the hopes of an oppressed people now depend on you. (President George Walker Bush, War Message, March 19, 2003.)

Good afternoon, everybody.  Today I authorized the Armed Forces of the United States to begin a limited military action in Libya in support of an international effort to protect Libyan civilians.  That action has now begun.

In this effort, the United States is acting with a broad coalition that is committed to enforcing United Nations Security Council Resolution 1973, which calls for the protection of the Libyan people.  That coalition met in Paris today to send a unified message, and it brings together many of our European and Arab partners.

This is not an outcome that the United States or any of our partners sought.  Even yesterday, the international community offered Muammar Qaddafi the opportunity to pursue an immediate cease-fire, one that stopped the violence against civilians and the advances of Qaddafi’s forces.  But despite the hollow words of his government, he has ignored that opportunity.  His attacks on his own people have continued.  His forces have been on the move.  And the danger faced by the people of Libya has grown.

I am deeply aware of the risks of any military action, no matter what limits we place on it.  I want the American people to know that the use of force is not our first choice and it’s not a choice that I make lightly.  But we cannot stand idly by when a tyrant tells his people that there will be no mercy, and his forces step up their assaults on cities like Benghazi and Misurata, where innocent men and women face brutality and death at the hands of their own government.

So we must be clear:  Actions have consequences, and the writ of the international community must be enforced.  That is the cause of this coalition. (President Barack Hussein Obama, Remarks by the Caesar on Libya, March 19, 2011.)

What about having mercy on the babies killed in the United States of America by means of chemical abortifacients and surgical means?

What about respect for the binding precepts of the Divine Positive Law and the Natural Law, including those that govern the consideration given beforehand and the prosecution of a just war?

What about respect for the provisions of the United States Constitution concerning a declaration of war?

What was that I wrote about Union of False Opposites yesterday?

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.

March 19 Articles, including a new article (see below)

Republished: Our Friend and Protector: Saint Joseph

Today, of course, is the great Feast of Saint Joseph, the Chaste Spouse of Our Lady, the just and silent man of the House of David.

Saint Joseph denied himself his biological fatherhood in order to serve as the ever-virginal spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the most loving foster-father to Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. In him, Saint Joseph, is to be found every virtue for a husband and father to imitate: patience, charity, forbearance in all difficulties, fortitude, perseverance, temperance, and total self-abnegation. Those of us who are husbands and fathers must learn to be more silent, to learn to be more loving, to learn to be more patient, to learn to be more meek, to learn to be ever-ready to worker harder and harder at our life's work so as to help our wives and our children to live as redeemed creatures here below in order to know eternal happiness hereafter.

Saint Joseph is the model of home life and the patron of artisans, the protector of widows and orphans, the patron of those who are in danger of death. May we invoke his patronage each day after we invoke that of his Most Chaste Spouse, Our Lady, and never be slow to turn to him in our spiritual and temporal needs:

O Saint Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in thee all my interests and desires. O thou Saint Joseph, do assist me by thy powerful intercession, and obtain for me from thy divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; so that, having engaged here below thy heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of fathers. O Saint Joseph, I never weary contemplating thee, and Jesus asleep in thy arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near thy heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me, and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. Saint Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for me. Amen!

Another article, written and published last year, Losing Everything to Gain God, also focuses on our Good Saint Joseph.

A blessed Feast of Saint Joseph to you all!

Union of False Opposites

No, this is not the article that got eaten by the Adobe Contribute program early yesterday morning. I will try to rewrite that article at some point later today for posting tomorrow, the Second Sunday in Lent.

This article deals with a vote in the United States House of Representatives to extend ObamaCare to pay for visits to one's veterinarian that was permitted by the leadership of the Republican Party to take place. So much for turning back the tide of ObamaCare, huh? The professional career politicians in the leadership of the false opposite of the naturalistic "right" have given up the legislative battle on ObamaCare, being unwilling even to attempt to defund $105 billion to implement this statist monstrosity in a recent Continuing Resolution that, most tragically, kept the Federal government operational even though Congress has yet to enact a budget for Fiscal Year 2011. These professional politicians have decided to roll the dice and let ObamaCare be killed by the Supreme Court of the United States of America. All these politicians care about is money and power. When are we going to learn this once and for all?

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Joseph, pray for us.

March 18 Update

Although I stayed up until 1:00 a.m. this morning, Eastern time, after a bit of travel (details to be chronicled and made available for your reading pleasure reasonably soon), to compose a brief article, it was within the Providence of God that my Adobe Contribute system "ate" the article as it was being published. It is gone. Poof! Into thin air! Its rewriting can wait until later today for a posting tomorrow on the Feast of Saint Joseph (in addition to a republished reflection on our Patron and Protector). All to thee, Blessed Mother. All to thy Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, we love you. Save souls!

Today, March 18, is the twenty-ninth anniversary of the death of my late mother, Norma Florence Red Fox Droleskey. Please remember her immortal soul in your prayers today.

Today is also the fourth anniversary of the death of Father Daniel Johnson, the longtime pastor of Saint Mary by the Sea Church in Huntington Beach, California, and the third anniversary of the death of Mrs. Theresa Colgan, the mother of one of my former students from Saint Francis College in Brooklyn, New York, during the 1985-1986 academic year.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Republished: Saint Patrick and the "C" Word

Today is the feast of Saint Patrick, the Apostle of Ireland. A blessed Saint Patrick's Day to you all, especially those of you who are of Irish descent (as are my wife and, on her mother's side, our daughter).

Saint Patrick was sent to convert the pagans of the Emerald Isle by Pope Saint Celestine I. Saint Patrick did not engage in "inter-religious dialogue." He sought to convert the Druid chieftains so as to effect the conversion of their followers. The land of pagan debauchery became the Island of Saints.

Alas, the Island of Saints has returned in large measure to its pagan roots. The counterfeit church of conciliarism, which rejects "proselytism" in most instances, has deprived the people of Ireland of Sanctifying Grace. We must pray to Saint Patrick each day for our own conversion as well as for the conversion of the conciliar revolutionaries who are so responsible for the corruption of the Holy Faith and for leading a Catholic land such as Ireland back into the debauchery from whence he, Saint Patrick, converted it. Saint Patrick, pray for us, pray for Ireland, pray for all of those of Irish descent. Our Lady of Knock, pray for us.

Today's original article should appear by early afternoon, Eastern Daylight Saving Time. Thank you, vast multitudes of you out there in cyberspace, for your continued patience for these Alexa ratings-busting articles. (Smile. I am joking, you know!)

What's Good For Manel Pousa is Good for Benedict XVI

Have you read about Father Manel Pousa? He's a priest in the Archdiocese of Barcelona, Spain, which, of course, is in the throes of the counterfeit church of conciliarism at this time. Father Manel Pousa remains in perfectly good standing in the conciliar structures despite his having admitted financing at least one abortion with his own money. Thus it is that this article includes the entirety of an article written eighteen months ago following the death of Edward Moore Kennedy. Readers will see why I have entitled this current article, which is a reworking of the older commentary, as I have once they take the time to read it. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Patrick, pray for us. (Yes, tomorrow is the Feast of Saint Patrick. I will have a republished reflection on his life and work posted tomorrow. There should be an original article as well. I just wanted to invoke Saint Patrick today as his work of converting the pagans of Ireland was the antithesis of the ethos of conciliarism's "inter-religious dialogue.")

Thank God Every Day That You Are A Catholic

This a brief commentary on the terrible disaster that has befallen the Japanese people, for whose conversion to the true Faith in the midst of this catastrophe we must pray as we pray also that they will be given the temporal assistance that they need. We must thank God every day that we are Catholics as it is only through the eyes of the true Faith that we can come to understand and accept events of this sort as occurring within His Holy Providence in order to bend us more and more to Him through His true Church as consecrated slaves of His Most Blessed Mother's Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Keep praying your Rosaries! Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.

"Cardinals" Burke and Canizares, Meet The Council of Trent

The title says it all. This is yet another short article. A trend? Yes, perhaps. It appears as though I have given up sleep for Lent. This is somewhat involuntary. I intend to remedy that situation now, well, for a few hours at least. (Smile.) Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Continue to pray for the victims and survivors of the terrible tragedy in Japan, about which I will post an article by Tuesday morning, March 15, 2011, not tomorrow morning, Monday, March 14, 2011, as I had planned originally. Yes, I took off from writing on the First Sunday in Lent.

Boilerplate Ratzinger

More on the false "pontiff's" new book, you know, the book that is "unofficial" and that is not supposed to concern us in the least even though it contains apostasies? Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Pope Saint Gregory the Great, pray for us.

Republished: Advice To Shepherds, Advice To Us All

This is a brief commentary, written last year, in honor of Pope Saint Gregory the Great. May we pray to Pope Saint Gregory the Great for the restoration of a true pope on the Throne of Saint Peter.

Finally, a reader has noted that I erred when urging the "vast" readership of this site to prefer spiritual reading to these articles if they have a paucity of time and a choice to make concerning which to read. This is what I should have written three days ago: If there's a choice between finding time to read, say, The Mystical City of God by the Venerable Mary of Agreda or this site, choose the FORMER, please! I stand corrected. I thank the reader for pointing this out to me. The choice of what spiritual reading to do during Lent to supplement one's daily reading of passages from Sacred Scripture is entirely up to each person. I have provided but one example of many to point out that the work of this site is very secondary to our Lenten devotions. I hope that I have made myself clear.

We must, of course, pray for the victims and survivors of the tragedy in Japan. I will have a commentary on this tragedy posted by Monday. Another brief article should appear tomorrow, the First Sunday in Lent.

Consistently Inconsistent

This is a brief follow-up to the article posted late on Shrove Tuesday, Obeying The Commands of a False Church. There should be another brief original article tomorrow, March 11, 2011, at some point (it appears as though that the best I can do for you these days is to average a new article every other day). Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. The Forty Holy Martyrs, pray for us.

Ash Wednesday Republished Articles

We have now entered into our annual desert journey of Lent. We are to be detached more and more from worldly attachments, meditating upon all that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ suffered to redeem us, whose sins caused Him to undergo His fearful Passion and Death. This is a wonderful time to increase our spiritual reading and to decrease our use of the internet, yes, including this site.

Sure, I will continue to write. I will even have a new article posted later on today as I did late yesterday, March 8, 2011. If there's a choice between finding time to read, say, The Mystical City of God by the Venerable Mary of Agreda or this site, choose the FORMER, please!

Two republished articles are thus offered for your reading today: From Dust Unto Dust, 2011 and The Royal Road to Victory.

May we ask Our Lady to send us all of the graces necessary to make this Lent of 2011 the best one of our lives as we seek to prepare to enter deep into the Paschal Triduum of Our Lord six weeks from tomorrow, that is, on Maundy Thursday, April 21, 2011.

Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.

Obeying The Commands of a False Church

This is my commentary on the sad situation that has now unfolded in public view at Christ the King Abbey in Cullman, Alabama. Although the article contains various references that are familiar to the readers of this site, it is my hope that some of the faithful Catholics who are attempting at the present time to save their abbey from the false church of conciliarism might be able to use them in their valorous efforts to persevere in the quintessential act of Charity: to show forth their love for God by defending His Sacred Deposit of Faith without any concessions to conciliarism in the slightest.

Republished: Understood By God Alone

This article in honor of Saint John of God, whose feast is celebrated today, was written one year ago now. A lot of hard work went into its completion. I believe it to be one a piece that will give great consolation to those who have not as of yet read it.

Saint John of God was little understood during his life. It was the case that even his longtime spiritual director, Saint John of Avila, who knew him fairly well, did not understand his decisions. Saint John of God suffered from all manner of slanders and even beatings in his life. He suffered slanders even up to the point of his own death. It was enough for him to be understood by God. It should be enough for us as well, especially during this time of apostasy and betrayal when so many of us are misunderstood and castigated by relatives and friends and acquaintances as being "outside of the Church" for our refusal to make any concessions to conciliarism or its false shepherds. We should be grateful that we are as misunderstood and hated and calumniated as was Saint John of God!

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint John of God, pray for us.

I have completed a new article. It is out for vetting. I hope to have it posted later today. Keep checking. Thanks for your patience on this last day before we begin our annual journey into the desert that is Lent.

March 7 Republished Article

Republished: Pillar and Champion of Catholic Truth

Today is the feast of Saint Thomas Aquinas, the Angelic Doctor whose Scholastic method is so despised by Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI. As the true popes themselves have taught us, no one who rejects the teaching and method of Saint Thomas Aquinas can ever be free from the suspicion of error. May this ardent lover of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Real Presence in the Most Blessed Sacrament and such a devoted client of the Mother of God, especially by means of her Most Holy Rosary, help us to reject the ways of Modernism fostered by the false "pontiff" at the present time, helping us by so doing to save our souls as we cling only to what the Catholic Church teaches and nothing else. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Thomas Aquinas, O.P., pray for us.

An original article should be published later today.

March 6 Prayer Requests

Although our recent travels will be ending within a week, we are very tried from the drive that I took to get us ahead of the violent storms that hit southern Louisiana yesterday. While we pray for the soul of the person killed in Rayne, Louisiana, and for the recovery of those who were injured, we are grateful to Our Lord and His Most Blessed Mother for having driven through that area on Wednesday afternoon, not yesterday! A new article should appear by tomorrow morning, Monday, March 7, 2011.

I ask your prayers today, March 6, 2011, for the repose of the soul of my late mother, Mrs. Norma Florence Red Fox Droleskey, who was born on this date ninety years ago as Maxine Coomer in Kansas City, Missouri. She was adopted by the vaudevillian Sioux Indian chieftain, "Chief" William Red Fox, and his wife, Maude Red Fox, about six months after her birth. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Finally, we learned today, Quinquagesima Sunday, that our dear friend, Mrs. Colleen Zenah, a staunch traditional Catholic, died yesterday, Saturday, March 5, 2011, after a long, long and valiant battle with cancer. She was expected to die eight months ago now. She rallied, especially every time after Father James Thielen gave her the Sacrament of Extreme Unction and gave her Our Lord in Holy Communion. She kept in contact with us periodically via e-mails and the snail mail, and was one of the few people to support this site with non-tax-deductible financial gifts. She wrote such lovely notes to Sharon and Lucy, encouraging me also to persevere in the work of this site. We will miss her greatly, knowing, of course, that we have gained an intercessor for our needs in eternity.

While our expressing our deepest condolences to her husband, Mr. Neal Zenah, as we assure him of our prayers for her, we will pray for the repose of the soul of Mrs. Colleen Zenah every day for the rest of our lives. Please join us in offering prayers and having Holy Masses offered for the soul of the late +Mrs. Colleen Zenah, R.I.P.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Accepting "Popes" As Unreliable Teachers

This is a brief follow-up the article published two days ago. Although it contains some passages from another article of a few months ago, it is a new composition dealing with the absurdity of a situation created by what can be called a "regime of 'papal' error" that so many traditionally-minded Catholics as of yet attached to the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism continue to assert does not mean that these "popes" have defected from the Catholic Faith and as such are not members of the true Church and cannot hold ecclesiastical office legitimately. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Impressed With His Own Originality

The false "pope," Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, has written a new book. The "unofficial" thoughts of the Modernist from Germany has not been released "officially" yet. March 1 Article and Afternoon PayPal Update and a Late Evening Update as well!

Socialized Nihilism

Another brief article for this website's vast readership. (It's past my bedtime!) Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Afternoon update: In the event that any of you have attempted to make a non-tax-deductible gift to us via PayPal in the past three or four days, I discovered today, Tuesday, March 1, 2011, that that the PayPal button has not been working correctly and I have not received any money as a result. I wish that I could say that the error was elsewhere. Unfortunately, and for my further humiliation, I am at fault as I typed in my e-mail address incorrectly when restoring the PayPal button to this home page after it was repaired recently. I do need new glasses. However, that's no excuse for not checking and rechecking. Anyone who has attempted to make a non-tax-deductible gift must cancel the payment and then send it again. I apologize profusely for the inconvenience. Mind you, I know of only one such gift that has been affected. If there are others of you who have made such gifts, the first transaction will have to be canceled before the money can be resent. Again, I am very sorry for the inconvenience.

Late evening update: The next original article on this site should appear on Thursday, March 3, 2011. In case you are interested in commentary on the now-retired Roger "Cardinal" Mahony after over a quarter of a century of revolutionary activity in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, let me refer you to several past articles as there is really no need at all to reinvent the wheel: The Six Hundred Million Dollar Man and His Friends, Voices From Hell, Yes, Sir, Master Scribe, Continuing to Knight Infidels, Abort the Faith, Abort Babies, Putting Lipstick on the Conciliar Pig, Apostasy Is His Field, Unfortunate Enough to Be A Baby and, among scores of others, Another Fine Mess. And if you think things will be different under Mahony's supposedly "conservative" successor, "Archbishop" Jose Gomez, please look at the "liturgy schedule" for Saturday, March 19, 2011, session of the upcoming travesty known as the "Los Angeles Religious Education Conference," which is held at the Anaheim Convention Center on Katella Avenue in Anaheim, California, within the confines of the diocese of Mahony's old seminary pal, "Bishop" Tod Brown, the Diocese of Orange, California

A little something for everyone in the confines of the One World Ecumenical Church in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Don't be hunkered down on Mindanao, Californians. None of this can come from the Catholic Church. Not one little bit of it. Oh, lest I forget one of the featured speakers is Father Richard Rohr, a regular at the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress. For more information about Father Rohr, please see Tone Deaf and Huge Los Angeles Religious Ed. Congress Again Features Perversion-Promoting Speakers. Perhaps this brief commentary is better than an entire new article on something about which I have written endlessly: the state of apostasy in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Canada's Death Panels: A Foretaste of ObamaCare

This is a brief article about the case of Baby Joseph Maraachi, who is facing the removal of his breathing tube as the result of a decision rendered by a Canadian death panel that is but a foretaste of our own future here in the United States of America under ObamaCare. Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us. (This article was revised in the early evening hours of February 28, 2011, following a statement made about the case of Baby Joseph Maraachi by Dr. Paul Byrne, to whose expertise on the proper medical protocol to be followed in Baby Joseph's case I yield entirely.)

As I am working on the next travelogue, there might be a gap of two days until the next article appears on this site. Keep checking. I did wind up giving up fifteen articles this month, just one more than one every other day. That's not as good as the twenty articles posted in January. However, it's not too shabby given the events of the last few weeks. Thanks again for your patience.

Accepting Evil With Ease

President Barack Hussein Obama has instructed his ideological soulmate of the naturalist "left," Attorney General of the United States of America Eric Holder, to cease the United States Justice Department's defense of the constitutionality of Section 3 of the so-called "Defense of Marriage Act" (DOMA). This is all too predictable and is not really any kind of surprise or shock at all. What is interesting, though, is the relatively placid response of many members of the naturalist "right," who seem perfectly at ease in accepting the evil of "marriage" between persons of the same gender. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Memo To Howard Hubbard: Public Scandal Is Never A Private Matter

Howard Hubbard, the conciliar "bishop" of Albany, New York, who has served as an enabler of pro-abortion Catholics who have served as Governor of New York ever since his installation in 1977 at the age of thirty-eight, is telling Catholics to mind their own "business" rather than complain about his giving what purports to be Holy Communion in the Protestant and Masonic Novus Ordo service to the pro-abortion Andrew Mark Cuomo and his paramour on Sunday, January 2, 2011, the day after Cuomo the Lesser's inauguration as governor of what I will always consider to be my home state of New York. Please do send this memo on to Howard Hubbard as it includes an appendix containing Saint Alphonsus de Liguori's sermon on scandal and those who suborn it. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Tomorrow's article should focus on Barack Hussein Obama's decision to have his administration cease any legal defense of the "Defense of Marriage Act" that is working its way through the Federal court system at this time. There will be more to follow in the days after that, God willing and Our Lady interceding. Once again, my good and few readers, I think you for your patience of the past few weeks.

Still Whittling Away At Those Remaining Bastions

Another of the newer, shorter articles. This one deals with the "ordination" of a former Lutheran "theologian" to the conciliar presbyterate even though he is still married to his wife, who has entered the Carmelite order and neither has been asked to make any promise of celibacy. Still whittling away at those last remaining bastions. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Matthias, pray for us.

Once again, my good and very few readers, I want to thank Mr. David Brindle of Bonaventure Web Design for the hard work he did in making the "alternate home page" that I had created a few days ago the new home page, something that was beyond my ability to do. I am now able to edit this home page without his assistance, and I want to thank him publicly for his kindness and generosity.

Having ended our recent travels that have taken us to southerly climes, the few remaining readers of this site can expect articles on a much more regular basis than has been the case for the past few weeks. I thank you all for your patience and understanding. It is good to be able to type without the cracked fingers and to sleep without the discomfort caused by the pain of the frostbitten toes. Deo gratias!

Blood Flows Freely in America and Libya

Blood is flowing freely in the streets of Tripoli, Libya, at this time. Blood flows freely right here in the United States of America every day. Barack Hussein Obama believes that he is a champion of "women's rights" in a "civilized" nation. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Peter Damian, pray for us. Saint Matthias, pray for us.

Remember, please check on the alternate home page or on the Articles page for new postings as there are still problems with this home page, problems that will last for another week or ten days. Thank you for being so resourceful!

Finally, our snail mail has yet to catch up with us as relief has been sought--and found--for the frostbitten toes and cracked fingers. Southern climates have helped tremendously, and I thank each of you for your prayers. A travelogue will be made available at some point in the next week or so. We will send thank you notes posthaste upon the receipt of that snail mail next week to those of you who have sent us non-tax-deductible financial gifts

Revised: Preparing for Lenten Penances
Today is Septuagesima Sunday. Lent begins in but seventeen days. Easter is exactly nine weeks way. It is time to start our preparations for Lent, time to start thinking about the penances we are going to undertake starting on Ash Wednesday in order to make reparation for our sins and those of the whole world as we prepare to enter deep into the mysteries of the Paschal Triduum of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Passion, Death, and Resurrection on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The purple vestments representing a penitential season of Holy Mother Church make their reappearance today to remind us that we must be deadly serious about the business of making the best Lent of our lives as we do not know whether this Lent will be our last one on the face of this earth--or whether we will even live to see the end of this particular Lent! Let us use this time well as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, praying as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit.

Rank and File Union Thuggery ala Obama/Alinksy
Although we have been on the move a lot in the past ten days or so, I have managed to keep up with some of the "news," including efforts on the part of various state governors to rein in the profligate spending that is leading their states to the point of fiscal bankruptcy. That we are eyewitnesses to massive street protests as civil servants demand to retain various privileges and benefits is yet another proof of the corruption that occurs in a society that does not submit itself to the sweet yoke of the Social Reign of Christ the King as It must be exercised by His Catholic Church. This is an old-fashioned, no-holds-barred Christ or Chaos article, published on the seventh anniversary of this website "going live" on the internet. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Finally, it is my solemn duty as a Catholic and as one who was privileged to know a true Catholic gentleman to request prayers for the repose of the soul of the late +Mr. Bernie Brueggemann, a pioneering traditional Catholic of the Cincinnati, Ohio, area, who was instrumental in building and sustaining, both spiritually and temporally, Saint Gertrude the Great Church over the years and who lent his support also to Saint Albert the Great Church near the end of his life. Mr. Brueggemann died yesterday, Saturday, February 19, 2011, in his home in Independence, Kentucky, at 3:30 p.m., Eastern Standard Time. He was eighty-four years old, I believe, although I stand to be corrected on Mr. Bueggemann's exact age.

Words cannot begin to express the gratitude to the good God that each of us in the Droleskey family have for being given the tremendous privilege of knowing Mr. Brueggemann, of dining with him on several occasions, of being inspired by his charity for the needs of others, starting with that of the remnant Church in this time of apostasy and betrayal, and by his great piety and devotion. Mr. Brueggemann spent many long hours in prayer before Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Real Presence in the Most Blessed Sacrament, going so far as to sleep in his car at various points during times of all night adoration at Saint Gertrude the Great Church on the evenings of First Fridays and the mornings of First Saturdays. It was not uncommon to find him assisting at two and three Masses on a Sunday or during the week as his schedule permitted.

Mr. Bernie Brueggemann was entirely devoted to his late wife, Rita Brueggemann, who died almost exactly three years ago now after suffering from a very long illness, and his children, who were so devoted to him in return. I told our daughter that she had been given a marvelous gift from Our Lord Himself to assist at a Holy Mass, offered by Father James Thielen in Our Lady of Consolation Chapel (located in a room of the house where Mr. Brueggemann lived until he moved himself into an apartment above the offices of the company, Bavarian Trucking that was founded in 1901 and has been in his family ever since), at which Bernie Brueggemann served. We told Lucy, "Mr. Brueggemann prays like an angel. He learned his practices of piety as a boy and he has never changed. He has maintained the innocence and purity with which he first served Holy Mass."

Mr. Bernie Brueggemann was tenderly devoted to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. He was a zealous promoter of Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary. He exuded the kindness and meekness and gentleness of the Sacred Heart of Christ the King as he tried to lead one and all to take shelter in the tender mercies of that Sacred Heart as the consecrated slaves of Mary our Immaculate Queen. Although we are saddened by his death and express our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to his children and grandchildren, assuring them of our prayers for his own immortal soul for their own loss at this time, we will be, as noted above, forever grateful to God for the privilege of knowing Mr. Bernie Brueggemann in life and for being united to him by means of the Communion of Saints after his death. For as much as he did for Holy Mother Church and for those of us who knew him during his inspirational life here on earth, he will do far more for us from eternity, keeping in mind, of course, of our need to pray for the repose of his soul as we trust that a good steward of things spiritual and temporal such as he was will not go without his eternal reward.

Eternal rest grant unto Mr. Bernie Brueggemann, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

The Better Mousetrap
Well, look at this: a new article. Well, a mostly new article, I should add, as this brief commentary deals with the madness engendered by a possible forthcoming "papal" motu proprio that might "restrict" some of the "rights" outlined in Summorum Pontificum. The Church Militant on earth cannot be restored by means of this kind of madness. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Simeon, pray for us. Saint Bernadette Soubirous, pray for us.

There should be new articles on each of the next two days. I thank the twelve readers of this site for their patience!

February 18 Update

Yes, there is still a Christ or Chaos website. As I am very tired from some long days of travel, having reached warmer climes that have done wonders for my frostbitten toes (and permitted a bit of what the ancients would have called "sleep" along the way) and for the cracked fingers, I am going to refrain from completing an article that I have started. That new article should, though, be posted by late this afternoon, February 18, 2011. Check on the Articles page for its publication as there are still ongoing issues with this home page that remain unresolved for now. The home page will be updated in due course after the new article is published on the Articles page.

Thank you for your patience for the next article to appear. And I wish also to beg the forgiveness of those who have not received any responses to e-mails that they have sent me in recent days as I have had spent very little time on the computer in the past week or ten days. I am happy to report that life goes on very well without the computer! It's been nice, to be honest, to have taken an enforced break from the computer. Just look for that new article on the Articles page later today. Thank you.

Lightweights Each
The hour is indeed quite late. This is my first foray into the naturalistic, bread and circuses farce that is the contest for the 2012 Republican Party presidential nomination. This is the sort of article that contains quite noninfallible judgments in the practical order of things written by a political scientist who attempts, despite his own many sins and failings, to view everything in life, including electoral politics, through the eyes of the true Faith. February 12 Update

Although there should be a new article published tomorrow, February 13, 2011, the Sixth Sunday after the Epiphany, this brief update is to inform the vast readership of this website (yes, as always, my tongue is planted firmly in my cheek), that the reduction of articles in the past week caused by my physical infirmities may continue for another five days or so. We have had some mechanical difficulties with one of our vehicles that have interfered with plans to seek a more hospitable environment for those infirmities to heal. The penances of the present moment are accepted with great joy and gratitude. We must remember that Our Lady told Saint Bernadette Soubirous the following on February 24, 1858: " Penance! Penance! Penance! Pray to God for Sinners." We love the penances that God sends us, gladly giving back unto Him through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of His Most Blessed Mother whatever merit we might earn from our patient and joyful embrace of them. It is just wonderful to be a Catholic!

Be advised, however, that I am unable to answer e-mails with any kind of promptness at this time. I do, though, ask for your prayers and will try to have articles posted tomorrow and on Monday, February 14, 2011, the Feast of Saint Valentine.  Thank you for your patience.

The administration of Caesar Obamus is examining whether to mandate the coverage of contraception as part of ObamaCare's goal to provide "preventive health services" to women. A child is not a disease. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. Saint Agatha, pray for us. Ah, although I have not had time to write any full travelogues since August of 2009, I have written up a few episodes that happened to us yesterday. You will find that write-up at the end of this current article.

I need to make several acknowledgments now.

First, I want to thank the kind readers who have written to me about how to deal with cracked finger tips that hurt whenever I use my fingers, which is pretty much all the time (Deo gratias!). The readers have made excellent suggestions. Thank you.

Second, a note of thanks is offered publicly to several people who offered to assist me in the repair of this home page. One of those who played a key role in restoring the home page (and thus of the Articles page as well, as you can see) to its original appearance is the kind and generous and patient traditional Catholic gentleman who built the subscription-based site that I simply could not use as I was required to deal with all types of codes that never appear in my Adobe Contribute software program, which permits me to write and publish without seeing or dealing with any kinds of computer codes.

This gentleman provided me with the codes, which I then forwarded to Mr. David Bridle, who owns Bonaventure Web Design. Mr. Brindle, who is the son-in-law of a good friend who has been very kind to us over the years, did exemplary work in restoring the home page and the articles archive page, also restoring the hot links to each. I am very much indebted to Mr. Brindle, and urge you to consider using his professional and competent services if you want to build a new website or to improve an existing one. Thank you, Mr. Brindle.

My thanks go also to the others who offered to provide assistance in this regard. I am very appreciative of the offers of assistance to repair this page that I received. My thanks to each of you who made such offers.

The next article? Just keep checking. I'm doing the best that I can. Keep checking. Thanks.

Slender Threads

Roger Vinson, a judge who sits on the Pensacola Division of the United States District Court for Northern Florida, issued a decision three days ago declaring ObamaCare's provision that individuals be required to purchase health insurance to be unconstitutional, thus voiding the entire "Affordable Health Care Act" because Congress did not include a "severability" clause in its text so that any one provision of the law found to be unconstitutional would not void the entire law. Don't celebrate too long, though. Judge Vinson's well-reasoned and very correct decision hangs by slender threads. Why? Read this very brief article. Look at this way: my own very relatively minor physical infirmities make your reading lives a little easier, that is, for the few of you who remain on this site (smile!)

Today is the fourth anniversary of the death of Sharon's father, the late Mr. John Griffith Collins III. Please remember the repose of the immortal soul of Mr. Collins, who returned to the Holy Faith on January 3, 2007, after an absence of seventy years. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Republished: The Sword of Sorrow

Today is the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, always the humble handmaid of the Lord who humbled herself this day, the last day of Christmastide, which ends after Holy Mass this morning, by submitting to the rituals of the law although she was not in need of such a ritualistic purification because of her Perpetual Virginity. This is the day that Our Lady presented her Divine Son, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, in the same Temple where He would be found twelve years later answering questions of the rabbis, the same Temple whose curtain would be torn in two from top to bottom as He breathed His last on the wood of the Holy Cross to redeem us, thereby signifying the permanent end of the Old Covenant and the supersession of Judaism by Catholicism as the true religion.

The aged Simeon, who waited patiently every day in the Temple for the fulfillment of the promise that God had made to him, that he would not die before his eyes had seen and his arms had beheld the Messiah, sent the first Sword of Sorrow plunging through Our Lady's Sorrowful and and Immaculate Heart when he prophesied that the Child he beheld would be destined for the rise and for the fall of man, a sign to be opposed, a Sign of Contradiction.

We must never fear to be signs of contradiction in our own lives in imitation of the THE Sign of Contradiction, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, as He hung on the wood of the Holy Cross to redeem us as he was mocked and reviled by the very people from whose stock He had taken His Sacred Humanity. We must be willing to suffer all manner of calumny and humiliation for the many times that we have preferred human respect to fidelity to Our Lord, for the many times we have refused to call upon Our Lady's maternal intercession, for the many times we have refused to "take sides," especially in our day by refusing to reject conciliarism and its ravenous wolves once and for all. Our Lady, Help of Christians, pray for us! Saint Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church and Protector of the Faithful, pray for us.

Not Interested in Assisi III

Well, this very brief article could not be completed until late last evening. In addition to the frostbitten toes that still are a source of some much deserved penitential discomfort, I have been dealing with slits at the top of various fingers, including both thumbs, forefingers and index fingers, that keep opening up just after they have healed (a combination of cold weather work and dishwashing, I suppose). The condition, which, of course, has been offered up to Our Lord through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, has worsened to such an extent as typing has been made nearly impossible. I may have to resort to audio recordings instead of the daily articles until this condition is rectified, whenever it is in God's Holy Providence for this to occur. Penance is indeed better than ever in 2011.

Oh yes, this article is a follow-up to American Pots Lecturing Egyptian Kettles. I will try to have another brief article posted by tomorrow morning, the Feast of Saint Blase, if I am able to type. If not, there will be a brief audio recording. Thank you for your patience.

Zealous For Souls Until the Very End

My apologies for the lateness of this article. It's still January 31, 2011, the Feast of Saint John Bosco. Here is a brief reflection on the life and work to this Saint, who holds a very special place in the hearts of each member of our own family. Our Lady, Help of Christians, pray for us. Saint John Bosco, pray for us.

There should be another brief article at some point tomorrow. Thanks again for your patience. It's been a little tough getting sleep these last few weeks because of the discomfort caused by the frostbite. The penance is good. The good God knows that I need it! All is given back to Him with joy and gratitude through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Also, and much more importantly, I beg you prayers for Sharon, whose sciatica has returned, although it is not as horrific as it was four months ago now. The Cross is our path to Heaven. We must embrace it with great joy as we seek to make reparation to our sins as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Late January 30 Update

The next article on this site should appear by late tomorrow afternoon, Monday, January 31, 2011. It will be a short reflection on the life and the work of Saint John Bosco, whose feast is, of course, celebrated tomorrow. The few readers of this site are thanked for their patience! (Smile.) Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Martina, pray for us.

American Pots Lecturing Egyptian Kettles

This is a brief article about the explosive situation in Egypt. It contains a bit of commentary that you might not find in too many other places. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. Saint Francis de Sales, pray for us.

The post office box has been, other than two envelopes, rather barren in the past week since the January 19, 2011, Donations, was posted. Although the eight non-tax-deductible financial gifts that we have received on PayPal and the two that we have received at the post office have helped to pay a few bills, there are others that need to be paid. If--and only IF--you find the work of this site to your liking and only IF you have the means to make a gift of between two and five dollars, I ask you to consider whether the laborer is worth at least a little keep in return for these articles and recordings. We need your help. Thank you.

Kasper's Brag

Another brief article. This one is about Walter "Cardinal" Kasper's receiving something called the "Lambeth Cross" award from Anglican layman Rowan Williams two days ago. It's so nice to see non-bishops stick together as the seek to build the One World Ecumenical Church. Well, it's time to start the next article, which will be a little change of pace for the few of you who remain as readers of this site. That article should be published tomorrow morning at some point. There's more to follow after that! Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint John Chrysostom,  pray for us.

What Iceberg?

This very brief article is all that last night's exercise in naturalism of the "left" deserves. It is perhaps the singularly briefest article to appear on this site. There is no need to waste words on a waste of time. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Polycarp, for us.

Another article, perhaps as brief as this one, will be published tomorrow, albeit a lot earlier than this one got itself posted on the Feast of Saint Polycarp.

Bearing "Fruits" From Hell Itself, part 2

You can ignore last night's update, which I am too tired to delete. Here is part two of yesterday's article. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saints Peter and Paul, pray for us.

A blessed Feast of Saint Paul the Apostle to you all.

Evening Update: Well, I really mean it this time! No article will be written tonight. I will, however, attempt to post one by late tomorrow afternoon that will deal with the caesar's state of the union address, for which I am not staying up in order to continue my quixotic quest for sleep. Walter Kasper is on the horizon after that. Did you hear? He received something called the "Lambeth Award" from the Anglican sect. Didn't he hear that I have frostbite and haven't rested well for two weeks? How inconsiderate. How rude. The work must continue.

Check back tomorrow. God bless, Mary keep, Thomas A. Droleskey

January 24 Article and Audio Lectures and Evening Update

Bearing "Fruits" From Hell Itself, part one

This is the first of a two-part series. Today's article deals with the continued exaltation of ecumania by Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI and his conciliar officials. Tomorrow's final part will focus on well-meaning efforts of some very sincere Catholics in the conciliar structures to "correct" their "pope's" ecumenical bent and to find a "correct" interpretation of the "Second" Vatican Council. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Timothy, pray for us.

Also uploaded to this site are two audio lectures, given yesterday, Sunday, January 23, 2011, the Third Sunday after the Epiphany and the Commemorations of Saint Raymund of Pennafort and of Saint Emerentiana: Audio Lecture: Living in the Shadow of the Cross, part 3 (fifty-four minutes) and Audio Lecture: Living in the Shadow of the Cross, part 4 (twenty-nine minutes). Both lectures deal with the nature of dogmatic truth and how it has been under attack by Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI.

Evening update: Tomorrow's article will not appear until the latter part of the afternoon. The discomfort caused by the frostbitten toes has impeded with what the ancients would have called sleep. Thanks for your patience. All to thee, Blessed Mother. All to thy Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, we love you. Save souls. It is certainly a joy to be blessed with crosses as they are the path of love that Our Lord has marked out for us to serve Him through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of His Most Blessed Mother. Deo gratias!

"Legal" Baby-Killing Can Never Be Safe or Rare and Republished: Thirty-Seven Years of Indifference

The hour is very late. It is my hope and prayer that, be it within the Providence of God, the frostbitten toes that appear to be permanently scarred will permit me a bit of what the ancients would call "sleep." Regardless, and, yes, penance is better than ever in 2011, here are two articles, one new, the other republished, on this, the thirty-eighth anniversary of the decisions of the Supreme Court of the United States of America in the cases of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton.

We should, if it is at all possible, spend time in prayer before Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Real Presence in the Most Blessed Sacrament today, making reparation to Him through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary for the crimes against the Fifth and Sixth Commandments that have occurred, crimes that have been made more possible, of course, because the conciliar revolutionaries, starting with the conciliar "popes" themselves, have seen fit to break openly and unrepentantly the First and Second Commandment, thus far. We ask Our Lady by means of her Most Holy Rosary to beg her Divine Son, Christ the King, for the conversion of our own beloved nation to His Social Reign. It is only the restoration of Christendom as the fruit of the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and thus the vanquishing of the lords of Modernity in the world and Modernism in the counterfeit church of conciliarism that will see an end to the daily slaughter of babies and souls that take place under cover of the civil law. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saints Vincent and Anastasius, pray for us.

Evening update: The new article for today, Legal Baby-Killing Can Never Be Safe or Rare, has been expanded slightly. "Traffic" on this site is rarely heavy on the weekends. Those who are accessing this article for first the time will be able to read it in its  final form.

The next original article on this site will appear on Monday, January 24, 2011. Its completion today was impeded by the quite literal "crash" of the "universal serial bus--usb" device that connects this computer to the internet, necessitating a drive to Danbury, Connecticut, to get a different device that works without being attached to the computer. Yes, indeed, penance is better than ever in 2011. Assuming that it is God's Holy Will for me to arise tomorrow morning and that I am thus able to give my next lecture tomorrow afternoon, I will have another two audio lectures, which are in the mp3 format and can be downloaded directly into your own computers or hand held devices, posted by Monday. Thank you.

Heathens Believe in Their Own Might, We Believe in Christ the King

Just another article on how nations whose leaders ignore the Social Reign of Christ the King are no different than the heathen nations of yore who trusted in their own might to make the "better" world. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Agnes, pray for us.

A reflection on the thirty-eighth anniversary of the decisions of the Supreme Court of the United States of America in the cases of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton will be published tomorrow, January 22, 2011.

January 20 Audio Lectures

Although it had been my intention to post the 2011 version of my "Living in the Shadow of the Cross" lecture program to the Christ or Chaos store, the inescapable fact is that almost no one would purchase the lectures even for a nominal fee if I placed them there. The other material in the store has collected a lot of dust in the past nearly three years now.

Thus, trusting in the Providence of God and the intercession of His Most Blessed Mother and of her Most Chaste Spouse, Good Saint Joseph, to help us in temporal needs, I have decided to post the audio presentations on this site without charge. It is the dissemination of the material that matters.

Two segments were recorded on January 9, 2011. They were broken into fifty-nine minute and thirty-one minute segments because of a break caused by the need for a change of the digital cartridge in the video camera that was being used to video record the lecture. The lecture itself dealt with the nature of truth, both natural and supernatural. It will be continued on Sunday, January 23, 2011.

Here are the links to the lectures: Audio Lecture: Living in the Shadow of the Cross, part 1 and Audio Lecture: Living in the Shadow of the Cross, part 2.

Having figured out how to download the audio from the digital audio recorder purchased a few months ago (I am very "low tech:), I intend to do more audio recordings on a regular basis to review various news events in light of the points that I have made endlessly on this site. I should, though, have new articles posted for each of the next two days, including on the thirty-eighth anniversary of the decisions of the Supreme Court of the United States of America in the cases of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton.

January 19 Article

From Sharp Focus to Fuzziness

Well, here is another article that took longer to write than I had anticipated. This one is a relatively brief discussion of the "general audience address" that Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI gave a week ago today, that is, on Wednesday, January 12, 2011, in which the false "pontiff" discussed Purgatory in relation to the writings of Saint Catherine of Genoa. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Marius and Companions, pray for us. Saint Canute, King of Denmark, pray for us.

Check back tomorrow for the next original article on this site. Please do read the update that was posted yesterday and digest the important material that has been put together by Mr. Mario Derksen for the sake of unity among Catholics who do not accept the legitimacy of Joseph Ratzinger as a true and legitimate Successor of Saint Peter.

As I learned yesterday, Tuesday, January 18, 2011, that it would cost between $150-$600 to repair the top of this home page, I have added links to the Speaking Schedule and Articles pages above. I do not have the technical ability to repair the page on my own. And, obviously, I have no money to pay for the repairs. Indeed, we have almost no money to pay any bills at this time. Thus it is that I update the Donations page yet again.

All to thee, Blessed Mother. All to thy Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, we love you. Save souls!

January 18 Update

Although I am working on the next article for this site, I do want to give an unqualified endorsement to a new website, ThucBishops.com, that has been created by Mr. Mario Derksen, a much respected Catholic writer.

Mr. Derksen began work years ago, he informs me, to provide a detailed and definitive refutation of the position advanced by His Excellency Bishop Clarence Kelly, the founder of the Society of Saint Pius V. Mr. Derksen's position paper, which runs one hundred one pages (there is a five page summary also to be found on his new website), is much needed as many of us have been "pulled aside" multiple times by priests of the Society of Saint Pius V to be "reminded" of their thoroughly unjust rules that prohibit the distribution of Holy Communion to Catholics who are associated with and receive the Sacraments from clergy "who derive their orders in part or in whole from the line of the late Archbishop Pierre Martin Ngo Dinh Thuc."

As one who once doubted the validity of the Thuc line consecrations, principally because of the advice offered by an anti-sedevacantist presbyter operating independently of and in opposition to the conciliar structures, I had to resolve this matter for myself five years ago when I was doing my due diligence to investigate the legitimacy of the claim that the conciliar "popes" were not legitimate Successors of Saint Peter, whose Chair at Rome is the liturgical feast we celebrate today (and commemorate in the traditional Chair of Unity Octave (see The Daily Catholic website for links to the daily prayers for this Octave). Satisfied that I had been in error concerning the validity of the Thuc line consecrations in my "resist but recognize" days that were drawing to a close at this time five years ago now, I then discovered the divisions among the clergy who do not mention the name of the conciliar "pontiff" in the Canon of the Mass. It was a minefield to negotiate. It remains a minefield for many.

It is my prayer that this important work of Mr. Mario Derksen will help to resolve this matter once and for all in order to bring an end to at least one of the needless divisions among the underground Catholic clergy who have true orders that keeps so many people from accepting the truth that those who defect knowingly from even one point of the Catholic Faith have expelled themselves from the bosom of Holy Mother Church and cannot hold her ecclesiastical offices legitimately. Divisions and difficulties on other matters will remain, sad to say, human nature being what it is. Perhaps the bishops and clergy of the Society of Saint Pius V will take a serious look at Mr. Derksen's important piece of Catholic scholarship, which exposes examples of intellectual dishonesty and gratuitous assertions that have no foundation in principle or fact, and make it possible for Catholics who dissent from not one whit of the Deposit of Faith and simply want to get home to Heaven to receive the Sacraments from their priestly hands at the offerings of Holy Mass they provide Holy Mother Church today with such dignity, decorum, glory and honor. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, pray for us. Saints Peter Paul, pray for us. Saint Prisca, pray for us. Pope Saint Pius V, pray for us.

I hope to have the next original article posted later this afternoon. Thank you.

"Beatifying" Yet Another Conciliar Revolutionary

Although much more could be written on the subject (other articles about which have been published on this site), this is but a brief effort, replete with appendices, to discuss the official news that Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI will "beatify" Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II on Sunday, May 1, 2011. The hour is very late. I will try to have another original article posted by some time late tomorrow afternoon, Tuesday, January 18, 2011, the Feast of the Chair of Saint Peter at Rome. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Antony the Abbot, pray for us.

I am glad to be the bearer of good news. The Reverend Mister Michael Oswalt was ordained to the subdiaconate by His Excellency Bishop Mark A. Pivarunas, CMRI, on Saturday, January 15, 2011, at Mount Saint Michael Church in Spokane, Washington. Please pray for the Reverend Mr. Oswalt as he continues his study for conditional ordination to the priesthood. Congratulations, Reverend Mr. Michael Oswalt! We are praying for you.

Finally, I came across two useful articles discussing the conciliar rite of priestly ordination. The articles originated, evidently, within the Society of Saint Pius X. There are some very good points made in these articles, recognizing, of course, that the Society of Saint Pius X no longer recommends the conditional ordination of conciliar presbyters. How time does change one's perspective, eh? Anyhow, here are the links to those two articles: Doubtfulness of New Catholic Ordination Rite and  Comparison of Old and New Catholic Rites of Ordination to the Priesthood.

Sorry for the delay in the publication of the article today.

Late Evening January 15 Update

Yes, something bad has happened to the top of this home page. It is my hope that the experts at the company that hosts this website will repair the damage on Monday or Tuesday.

Secondly, it's been slow going on the work completing my article on the pending "beatification" of Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II. It turns out that I contracted frostbite, which I thought was a fungal infection, of my feet during the winter cold here in Connecticut (and sloshing around the streets of Manhattan on December 29, 2010, three days after the blizzard that had hit the northeast, did not help matters at all). This wonderfully painful affliction, given to me by the good God so that I can glorify Him and seek to make reparation to Him for my sins through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, has slowed down my work a little bit. I do hope to have that new article posted on Monday, January 17, 2011. Thank you for your patience.

January 14 Article and Evening Update

Unity and Peace Cannot Be Based in Error and Falsehood, part two

Yesterday's commentary, posted around 3:00 p.m. because most of Wednesday, January 12, 2011, was spent shoveling twenty-seven inches of snow in our part of Connecticut, dealt with Barack Hussein Obama's naturalism and religious indifferentism. It's Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI's turn once again today as this article focuses on his continued support for "religious liberty" and his call for "Assisi III," if you will. This is certainly a time of great chastisement. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Hilary of Poitiers, pray for us. Saint Felix, Martyr, for us.

If press reports are to believed, a space in the Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican is being readied to receive the transferred remains of Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II after his supposedly forthcoming "beatification." Although I will have a commentary on this matter should it come to pass with an official announcement from the Vatican, the few of you who read these articles can be referred to "Canonizing" A Man Who Protected Moral Derelicts from April of last year. For the press reports about the possible immanence of the "beatification" of John Paul II, see the stories at Rome Reports and Benedict Set to Beatify John Paul II.)

Evening Update: As I was up rather late last evening completing the article for today's posting, my next article, which will deal with the pending "beatification" of Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II, will not be completed until tomorrow evening, Saturday, January 15, 2011, the Feast of Saint Paul the Hermit and the Commemoration of Saint Maurus the Abbot.

Finally, Father Francis Miller, O.F.M., has sent out a text message to inform Catholics that the mortal remains of the late Father Leonard Giardina, O.S.B., the founding abbot of Christ the King Abbey in Cullman, Alabama, will be buried on Monday, January 17, 2011, on the grounds of the abbey. The burial will take place at 10:00 a.m., Central Standard Time. Father Francis is asking that for a good showing of Catholics for Father Abbot's burial. Let us continue to pray for the repose of the late +Abbot Leonard Giardina's immortal soul and for the needs of Christ the King Abbey at this time and into the future.

All Falls Apart Absent Christ the King

Although much of what is written in this new article has been written many times in the past, this is a new composition to provide a bit of Catholic reflection on the tragic shootings that took place in Tucson, Arizona, on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at the hands of a determined, calculated, cold-blooded killer. Men and their nations must fall into neo-barbarism and worse is they do not submit themselves to the sweet yoke of the Social Reign of Christ the King as It must be exercised by the Catholic Church. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Pope Saint Hyginus, pray for us.

Let us continue to pray for the souls of those killed in Tucson as well for the recovery of those who were injured.

There should be another new article tomorrow, January 12, 2011.

January 10 Commentary and Prayer Requests

As my lecture yesterday afternoon got me home a little too late to start my article on the tragedy that took place in Tucson, Arizona, on Saturday January 8, 2011, I do want to offer a brief comment and ask for your prayers for the intentions listed below.

The tragic shooting that took place in an alcove outside of a Safeway supermarket in the La Toscana Village part of Tucson, Arizona, on Saturday is being exploited by all of the usual suspects to paint anyone who opposes the statist policies of the administration of President Barack Hussein Obama and Vice President Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., as guilty of extremism that incites the likes of Jared Lee Loughner to plan and execute cold-blooded schemes of murder. This is the same sort of rhetoric that was employed by professional naturalists of the "leftist" bent after Timothy  McVeigh and Terry Nichols executed their own deadly attack in the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Office Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on April 19, 1995.

Then President William Jefferson Blythe Clinton exploited that tragedy for his own purposes, helping to beat back efforts by the new Republican majority in both Houses of the 104th Congress to hold down the projected rate of growth of Federal entitlement expenditures. It is certain that Barack Hussein Obama and others of his own "leftist" brand of naturalism will do the same this time, perhaps, however in more subtle tones than being used by some of "leftist" bomb-throwers in the pundit class, people who always blame the "right" for acts of violence that are the result, proximately speaking, of the prevalence of sin in the world and the lack of Sanctifying Grace as men are left to deal with social problems on their own without a clue as to First and Last Things. We are to pray for the conversion of those in public life who support various evils, not surrender to nihilism by violating the Fifth Commandment and, quite possibly, depriving souls who could have converted to the true Faith before they died to have done so. This will be discussed in greater detail in my article, which will appear late tomorrow evening.

Let us continue to pray for the victims of the shooting, including United States Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D-Arizona), and the six people who were killed, including United States District Court Judge John Roll, a Catholic who was the Chief Judge of the United States District Court for Arizona, and the thirteen others who were wounded.

Among those killed was nine year-old Christina Green, the granddaughter of Dallas Green, now seventy-six years of age, a former pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies and, briefly in 1966, the New York Mets. Dallas Green went on to manage the Phillies, the New York Yankees and the Mets, and I admired his determination to get his players to concentrate on essentials that so many were forgetting. He was always so very nice to me during his time as Mets' manager from May 20, 1993, to August 31, 1996. We spoke last about nine years ago when my baseball book was published. His murdered granddaughter sang in the choir of Saint Odilia Roman Catholic Church in Tucson, Arizona. Please for the repose of her soul and for the consolation of her grieving parents and grandparents at this time.

Word reached me late on Saturday, January 8, 2011, that Mr. Ernie Nellenbach, a longtime parishioner of and a most devoted volunteer at Saint Gertrude the Great Church in West Chester, Ohio, died on Saturday, January 8, 2011. Mr. Nellenbach was a meek, humble, selfless man who assisted at Holy Mass every day and spent much time in prayer before Our Blessed Lord and Saviour in His Real Presence in the Most Blessed Sacrament. He devoted almost all of his free time to the service of the church, filling numerous and sundry roles, including driving Bishop Daniel Dolan long distances to various mission locations for the offering of Holy Mass. Please pray for the repose of the immortal soul of the late +Mr. Ernie Nellenbach and for the consolation of wife and family at this time.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Finally, word was also received late Saturday evening that there will be a Low Requiem Mass (not a High Mass) for the founder of Christ the King Abbey, the late +Abbot Leonard Giardina, O.S.B.,  today, Monday, January 10, 2011, at the abbey in Cullman, Alabama, at 10::00 a.m. (Central Standard Time). The Requiem Mass will be preceded by visitation at 9:00 a.m. and the recitation of Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary at 9:30 a.m.

Please continue to pray for the late Father Abbot's immortal soul and for the intentions of the situation at Christ the King Abbey.

Thank you.

January 9 Republished Article

Revised: From Nazareth We Come, In Nazareth We Must Live

Today, the Sunday within the Octave of the Epiphany, is the Feast of the Holy Family of Nazareth.

Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ chose to become Man in His Most Blessed Mother's Virginal and Immaculate Womb by the power of the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity, God the Holy Ghost, and place Himself, the Co-Equal and Co-Eternal Son of God the Father, under subjection to mere creatures His Most Blessed Mother, the fairest flower of our race, and to Good Saint Joseph, his foster-father. The subjection of the God-Man to the authority of His Most Blessed Mother and his foster-father, whom He had chosen from all eternity to provide Him with the earthly love and care and stewardship of a father seeking only to please God with his every thought, word an deed, teaches us that we, who came from families and who, in many instances, are raising families of our own, must be subject to all legitimate authority, duly constituted, in all things that do not pertain to sinful commands.

Children are supposed to learn this subjection in the household from their tenderest days, seeing in their fathers the image of Saint Joseph and in their mothers the image of Our Lady. Children are supposed to realize that God in the very Flesh obeyed His creatures in the Holy Family of Nazareth. So must they.

Parents must, for their part, foster an atmosphere within the family of selflessness, charity, forgiveness and joy, centering the family's life on daily assistance at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass (if at all possible), regular time spent in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, the daily recitation of Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary, supplications to Our Lady's Most Chaste Spouse, Saint Joseph, home enthronement to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Total Consecration to Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the same Immaculate Heart of Mary, Scriptural reading and family reading time, especially about the lives of the saints, and a refusal to participate in the rot of popular culture. This requires sacrifice and the willingness to be misunderstood, calumniated and rejected even by one's own family members as we protect our children from those cultural currents that come from the devil and are designed to lead each of us to Hell for all eternity.

To eschew worldliness one must be ready to embrace the Holy Poverty of the Holy Family of Nazareth, detaching oneself from the material acquisitiveness of our consumer society, shaped by Judeo-Calvinist materialism, and to live in light of First Things and Last Things as we week to acquire the only thing that matters: Sanctifying Grace in this life and eternal life in the glory of the Beatific Vision of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost in Heaven.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, we love you, save souls!

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, pray for us now and in death's agony.

There should be an original article posted tomorrow, January 10, 2010. It will deal with the tragic shooting that took place north of Tucson, Arizona, yesterday, Saturday, January 8, 2010. Let us pray for the deceased and for the wounded and their families.

Finally, I ask your continued prayers for the repose of the soul of the late +Abbot Leonard Giardina, O.S.B., and for the needs of Christ the King Abbey. Unlike other situations that I have had, most unfortunately, to offer commentaries upon, I have no direct, first-hand knowledge or involvement in the events that have unfolded at Christ the King Abbey. I am but bystander who is praying for the intentions of the abbey at this time. Let us remember the needs of Christ the King Abbey in our Rosaries today, the Feast of the Holy Family.

January 8 Article and Prayer Request for Repose of the Immortal Soul of the late +Abbot Leonard Giardina, O.S.B.

"Lucky" Mario May Not Be So "Lucky" In The End

The hour is late. I have to arise early to shovel snow so that we can to Holy Mass in the morning. The article is short. It is informative. I trust that you will read it, correct? Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

It was after this page was updated and I had turned off my notebook computer that I noticed a text message from Father Francis Miller, O.F.M., informing me of the death last evening, Friday, January 7, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., Central Standard Time, of the late +Abbot Leonard Giardina, O.S.B. Please do pray for the blessed repose of his immortal soul.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

January 7 Article and Urgent Prayer Request for Abbot Leonard Giardina, O.S.B.

With A Shrug of the "Papal" Shoulders

Will the "papal" nomination to the "Pontifical" Academy of Sciences of an open supporter of baby-killing and perversity stand the criticism from "conservative" Catholics in the conciliar structures that is sure to occur? Perhaps the nomination of Dr. Miguel Nicolelis will be rescinded. Perhaps not, however, as Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI has shown us repeatedly that he is fully capable of giving a "papal" shrug of the shoulders when faced with apostasy and error and sacrilege. Indeed, he expects us to shrug our shoulders when he commits apostasy and spreads errors aplenty and commits sacrilege. Why should it be any different with the nomination of Dr. Miguel Nicolelis? Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Prayer request for Abbot Leonard Giardina: Father Francis Miller, O.F.M., has informed me that Abbot Leonard Giardina, O.S.B., of Christ the King Abbey in Cullman, Alabama, is not expected to live through the day. Please do pray to Saint Joseph, the Patron of the Dying, for Abbot Leonard to have a holy death. He has received the Sacrament of Extreme Unction. Let us help this good priest on his path to eternity by praying the Three Very Beautiful Prayers for the Dying. Our Lady, pray for Abbot Leonard Giardina at this, the hour of his death. Saint Joseph, pray for Abbot Leonard Giardina. Saint Benedict, pray for Abbot Leonard Giardina. Saint Leonard of Port Maurice, pray for Abbot Leonard Giardina.

Another Year of the Same Conciliar Apostasy, part three

This is the third and concluding part of the series that began on Monday, January 3, 2011. It is relatively short. Why wait? Read it now.

Republished: Manifesting Christ the King At All Times

Our Lord was made manifest on Christmas Day to the handful of Jewish people, including the shepherds in the field who were sent to adore Him by the angels who had announced the following:

And there were in the same country shepherds watching, and keeping the night watches over their flock. And behold an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the brightness of God shone round about them; and they feared with a great fear. And the angel said to them: Fear not; for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, that shall be to all the people:

For, this day, is born to you a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord, in the city of David. And this shall be a sign unto you. You shall find the infant wrapped in swaddling clothes, and laid in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army, praising God, and saying: Glory to God in the highest; and on earth peace to men of good will. And it came to pass, after the angels departed from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another: Let us go over to Bethlehem, and let us see this word that is come to pass, which the Lord hath shewed to us.

And they came with haste; and they found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger. And seeing, they understood of the word that had been spoken to them concerning this child. And all that heard, wondered; and at those things that were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these words, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God, for all the things they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. (Luke 2: 6-20.)

Today's feast, the Feast of the Epiphany of Our Lord, known colloquially in Ireland as "Little Christmas" and in many other places as Three Kings' Day, celebrates Our Lord's manifestation to the whole world through the Gentiles. Indeed, the Offertory for today's Mass explains that all kings shall adore Christ King and that all nations shall serve Him:

The kings of Tharsis and the islands shall offer presents: the kings of the Arabians and of Saba shall bring gifts: and all kings of the earth shall adore Him: all nations shall serve Him.

The United States of America is no exception to this. We must pray for the day when the leaders of this country, founded on the falsehoods of Protestantism and Judeo-Masonry that are so hateful to Our King, will adore Him as their King and the day when this nation will serve Him as it acknowledges His Social Kingship over it by submitting in all that pertains to the good of souls to the authority of the Catholic Church that He Himself founded upon the Rock of Peter, the Pope. We are suffering at the hands of statists today because the men of Modernity who believed that they had no obligation to offer public worship to Christ the King through His true Church set us on a course that can result only in the triumph of the civil state over the King of Kings Who was made manifest to Saints Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar on this day. We must make Him manifest in our own lives at at all times, never fearing to suffer in behalf of the truths of the Holy Faith or to suffer in the cause of justice when souls are placed into jeopardy needlessly even by some of our own true shepherds.

Finally, I will begin a series of bi-weekly lectures in the "old board room" of the C. H. Booth Public Library, 25 Main Street, Newtown, Connecticut, starting on Sunday, January 9, 2011. The lectures will run from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. I will be presenting an updated version of my "Living in the Shadow of the Cross" lecture program that I gave across the country in 2000 and 2001. It is my intention to audio record the presentations and to make them available for purchase at the little-used Christ or Chaos store. (Put my poisonous name on something, folks, and it will be little used, little read and little purchased! Deo gratias!) I anticipate that this program will consist of twenty-six two hour presentations. It will run, God willing and Our Lady interceding, throughout the course of this calendar year. The second lecture will be given on Sunday, January 23, 2011, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

A blessed Feast of the Epiphany of Our Lord to you all! Another original article will appear tomorrow, January 7, 2011.

Close Ideological Kinsmen

There has been a great deal of silence from the administration of President Barack Hussein Obama concerning the consolidation of power by Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua and Evo Morales in Bolivia, to say nothing of the return to quasi-Stalinist rule in the Russian Federation that is being orchestrated by Vladimir Putin and the continued totalitarian rule of the Chicoms in Red China. After all, close ideological kinsmen must stick together, if only by their conspiracy of silence. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. Pope Saint Telesphorus, pray for us.

The concluding part of "Another Year of the Same Conciliar Apostasy" will appear tomorrow, the Feast of the Epiphany of Our Lord, along with a republished article on the feast itself.

Another Year of the Same Conciliar Apostasy, part two

For the multitudes out there in cyberspace who have been waiting for part two of the article posted yesterday, well, good multitudes, your wait is over at long last. This installment deals with efforts on the part of the conciliar revolutionaries to "update" the liturgies of the Uniat Rites of the East as they continue to try to find a way to "adjust" the exercise of Papal Primacy to the liking of their fellow ecumaniacs in the Orthodox churches. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Holy Innocents, pray for us.

The final installment in this series should appear tomorrow, the Vigil of the Epiphany of Our Lord, or on the Feast of the Epiphany itself. Regardless as to the date of the appearance of that final installment of the current series of articles, there should be another original article on this site tomorrow dealing with a different matter.

Another Year of the Same Conciliar Apostasy, part one

Am I really consigned to writing another 256 articles this year? Really? Well, it sure looks as though I will be kept somewhat busy this year as the false "pontiff," Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, continues his warfare against the Catholic Faith, this time in his "2011 World Day of Peace Message" whose theme was "religious freedom" as the path to peace. Part two of this article should be published tomorrow. It will deal with the spirit of conciliarism at work in the world. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint John the Evangelist, pray for us.

Thoughts to Ponder...

"America, it is said, is suffering from intolerance. It is not. It is suffering from tolerance of right and wrong, truth and error, virtue and evil, Christ and chaos. Our country is not nearly so much overrun with the bigoted as it is overrun with the broadminded....

"...In the face of this broadmindedness, what the world needs is intolerance."

(Fulton Sheen's "A Plea for Intolerance," 1931)

Memo to President Obama from Pope Pius XI:

"Those who hold the reins of government should not forget that it is the duty of public authority by appropriate laws and sanctions to defend the lives of the innocent, and this all the more so since those whose lives are endangered and assailed cannot defend themselves. Among whom we must mention in the first place infants hidden in the mother's womb. And if the public magistrates not only do not defend them, but by their laws and ordinances betray them to death at the hands of doctors or of others, let them remember that God is the Judge and Avenger of innocent blood which cried from earth to Heaven." (Pope Pius XI, Casti Connubii, December 30, 1930.)

"The whole world is dividing itself into progressives and conservatives. The job of the progressives is to go on making mistakes. The job of the conservatives is to prevent those mistakes from being corrected." Gilbert Keith Chesterton, April 19, 1924

"Know this: it is by very little breaches of regularity that the devil succeeds in introducing the greatest abuses. May you never end up saying: 'This is nothing, this is an exaggeration.'" (Saint Teresa of Avila, Foundations, Chapter Twenty-nine)

"I would give up my life a thousand times, not only for each of the truths of Sacred Scripture, but even more for the least of the ceremonies of the Catholic Church."  (Saint Teresa of Avila, Life, Thirty-three, 3.)
