The thuggery on display in the States of Wisconsin and Ohio at this time as union goons, many of whom are being bussed in from various parts of the country by Caesar Barackus Ignoramus Obamus's surrogate campaign organization, Organizing for America, is a last gasp on the part of the overpaid class of elitists who have been feeding at the public trough for over eight decades now since the "New Deal" of the late President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The caste of civil servants who hold unnecessary jobs that exist largely as a result of government bloat and an abuse of governmental regulatory powers consider it an affront that legislative efforts are afoot to require them to contribute more of their own salaries into their generous health-care and pension benefit packages.
Years and years of wasteful, duplicative, needless spending and regulatory programs at the state level, much of it mandated by Federal laws and regulations have now caught up with the class of leftist elitists who populate the civil service and who believe that public service is a right, not a privilege, that they can use as a bludgeon to prevent them from making any kind of legitimate contributions into benefit packages that are contributing handsomely to state budgetary crises and as they seek to retain collective bargaining privileges that have made non-elected bureaucrats more of a potent force in administrative law and governance than elected officials. And the class of leftist elitists who populate civil service employees' unions will brook no opposition as they seek to indemnify themselves against their own sloth, against any effort to retrench the permanent regulatory bureau racy that sustains them and empowers them to look down on elected officials who are their superiors, at least nominally, and the citizens who pay their salaries with contempt and scorn.
Although the reigning caesar in Washington, District of Columbia, has tried to cast the union thuggery that he has encouraged and supported and funded in terms of the alleged "popular" uprisings in much of the Mohammedan world in the past few weeks, uprisings that will be the subject of yet another commentary on this site soon, what we are witnessing in Wisconsin and Ohio is nothing other than the sort of entitlement rioting that has taken place in Eurosocialist countries such as Greece and Spain and France and the United Kingdom in response to very modest and much long overdue efforts to curb the cradle-to-the-grave entitlement programs that are bankrupting these countries, some of which stand on the precipice of having Mohammedan majorities within a few decades, right before our very eyes. Barack Hussein Obama is a shameless demagogue, a practitioner of the worst kind of class warfare who believes in the Marxist propaganda he was taught as a teenager by the Communist named Frank Marshall Davis in Hawaii and that has shaped his work as a community thug (excuse me, "organizer") since he cut his political eyeteeth in the organizations of Saul Alinksy.
Barack Hussein Obama fashions himself as smarter than the average bear, to borrow a term from our daughter's favorite cartoon character (watched only, of course, on digital video discs, not on the devil's box called television). He has called himself the "LeBron James" (whoever he is) of the farce that is politics in this lands of naturalism and pluralism and religious indifferentism. Obama is very happy that he is rallying his leftist base with the thuggish efforts on his Marxist Organizing for America in Wisconsin and Ohio, preparing the way for revving up that base in time for next year's fifty state presidential elections (and one held in the District of Columbia) on Tuesday, November 8, 2012, to elect the electors who actually cast the electoral votes for the offices of this country's president and vice president. Obama and his like-minded Marxist aides are, though, as much stuck in the revolutionary rhetoric and ideology of the 1960s as are the aging conciliar revolutionaries of the counterfeit church of conciliarism. Both are oblivious to reality as they view the world consistently through the pink lenses of their respective and utterly failed revolutions.
Barack Hussein Obama has so much arrogance and hubris that he believes he can bluff and bluster his way through a fiscal crisis of unprecedented proportions by playing the role of the demagogue, using mass demonstrations to "isolate" his enemies, who are Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Ohio Governor John Kasich at this time, to demand that the "rights" of "workers" be protected. This is straight from the playbook of Saul Alinsky, which is based upon the playbook of the quintessential "community organizer," Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, better known as Vladimir Ilyich Lenin:
Opening page - Dedication
“Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history... the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer.”
"An organizer must stir up dissatisfaction and discontent... He must create a mechanism that can drain off the
underlying guilt for having accepted the previous situation for so long a
time. Out of this mechanism, a new community organization arises....
"The job then is getting the people to move, to act, to participate; in short, to develop and harness the necessary power to effectively conflict with the prevailing patterns and change them.
When those prominent in the status quo turn and label you an 'agitator'
they are completely correct, for that is, in one word, your function—to agitate to the point of conflict." p.117
11. "If you push a negative hard and deep enough, it will break through into its counterside... every positive has its negative."
12. "The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative."
13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.
In conflict tactics there are certain rules that [should be regarded]
as universalities. One is that the opposition must be singled out as the
target and 'frozen.'...
"...any target can always say, 'Why do you
center on me when there are others to blame as well?' When your 'freeze
the target,' you disregard these [rational but distracting]
arguments.... Then, as you zero in and freeze your target and carry out
your attack, all the 'others' come out of the woodwork very soon. They
become visible by their support of the target...'
"One acts decisively only in the conviction that all the angels are on one side and all the devils on the other." (Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals.)
This is exactly what Obama is doing at this time. It is beneath contempt.
Then again, Barack Hussein Obama has complete contempt for truth. As a Marxist by way of Frank Marshall Davis and Saul Alinsky, Barack Hussein Obama cares only about "results." The "results" he wants at the present time involve the continuation of the sick, symbiotic power relationship between the organized crime family of naturalism of the "left," the Democratic Party, with the caste of government civil service employees who believe that it is their absolute "right" to continue to hold the mostly needless jobs that they possess and to do so without any degree of legitimate oversight or correction from the elected officials under whom they serve and without any concern for the heavy burden of taxation that has been imposed upon the average taxpayer by their greedy drinking at the public trough for every unpaid, unmerited privilege and benefit imaginable. This symbiotic relationship is essential to Obama's electoral survival, as he sees it, and to the survival of his fellow "leftists." (For an exposition from the naturalistic "right" on this relationship, see Unions & Dems vs. the People in Wisconsin.)
The man who is "smarter than the average bear," however, may have outsmarted himself this time, seriously underestimating the degree to which most voters are concerned about out-of-control government spending at every level of government (Federal, state. local) that has placed such a tremendous tax burden on them, reducing their own ability to provide for their own families as they must support the caste of angry, vitriolic, self-righteous thugs in the civil service employees' unions who are protesting in Wisconsin and Ohio at this time. One cannot understate the level of thuggery that is at work in these two states, a thuggery that, sad to say, is all too characteristic of a "union movement" that was coopted in this country by the diabolic forces of naturalism from its very beginnings rather than having been formed by the precepts outlined by Pope Leo XIII in Rerum Novarum (May 15, 1891) and Pope Saint Pius X in Singulari Quadam, September 24, 1912) and Pope Pius XI in Quadragesimo Anno (May 15, 1931), which demand that workers avoid all forms of class warfare, the very opposite of what we are witnessing from the goon in the White House and those he is enabling at this time.
The thuggery being encouraged and enabled by Barack Hussein Obama and his leftist goons is the natural result of a world that is not under the sweet yoke of the Social Reign of Christ the King as It must be exercised by His Catholic Church. This is what Pope Saint Pius X, for example, wrote in Singulari Quadam, September 24, 1912:
2. Accordingly, We first of all declare that all Catholics have a sacred and
inviolable duty, both in private and public life, to obey and firmly adhere to
and fearlessly profess the principles of Christian truth enunciated by the
teaching office of the Catholic Church. In particular We mean those principles
which Our Predecessor has most wisely laid down in the encyclical letter "Rerum
Novarum." We know that the Bishops of Prussia followed these most faithfully in
their deliberations at the Fulda Congress of 1900. You yourselves have
summarized the fundamental ideas of these principles in your communications
regarding this question.
3. These are fundamental principles: No matter what the Christian does, even
in the realm of temporal goods, he cannot ignore the supernatural good. Rather,
according to the dictates of Christian philosophy, he must order all things to
the ultimate end, namely, the Highest Good. All his actions, insofar as they are
morally either good or bad (that is to say, whether they agree or disagree with
the natural and divine law), are subject to the judgment and judicial office of
the Church. All who glory in the name of Christian, either individually or
collectively, if they wish to remain true to their vocation, may not foster
enmities and dissensions between the classes of civil society. On the contrary,
they must promote mutual concord and charity. The social question and its
associated controversies, such as the nature and duration of labor, the wages to
be paid, and workingmen's strikes, are not simply economic in character.
Therefore they cannot be numbered among those which can be settled apart from
ecclesiastical authority. "The precise opposite is the truth. It is first of all
moral and religious, and for that reason its solution is to be expected mainly
from the moral law and the pronouncements of religion."[1]
4. Now, concerning workingmen's associations, even though their purpose is to
obtain earthly advantages for their members, nonetheless those associations are
to be most approved and considered as most useful for the genuine and permanent
advantage of their members which are established chiefly on the foundation of
the Catholic religion and openly follow the directives of the Church. We have
repeated this declaration on several previous occasions in answer to question
from various countries. Consequently, such so-called confessional Catholic
associations must certainly be established and promoted in every way in Catholic
regions as well as in all other districts where it can be presumed that they can
sufficiently assist the various needs of their members. However, when there is a
question about associations which directly or indirectly touch upon the sphere
of religion and morality, it would not be permitted to foster and spread mixed
organizations, that is, associations composed of Catholics and non-Catholics, in
the areas just mentioned. Over and above other matters, in such organizations
there are or certainly can be for our people serious dangers to the integrity of
their faith and the due obedience to the commandments and precepts of the
Catholic Church. Venerable Brethren, you yourselves have also openly called
attention to this question in several of your answers which We have read.
5. We therefore lavish praise upon each and every one of the strictly
Catholic workingmen's associations existing in Germany. We wish them every
success in all their endeavors on behalf of the laboring people, hoping they
will enjoy a constant increase. However, in saying this We do not deny that
Catholics, in their efforts to improve the workers' living conditions, more
equitable distribution of wages, and other justified advantages, have a right,
provided they exercise due caution, to collaborate with nonCatholics for the
common good. For such a purpose, however, We would rather see Catholic and
non-Catholic associations unite their forces through that new and timely
institution known as the cartel.
6. Not a few of you, Venerable Brethren, have asked Us whether it is
permissible to tolerate the so-called Christian Trade Unions that now exist in
your dioceses, since, on the one hand, they have a considerably larger number of
members than the purely Catholic associations and, on the other hand, if
permission were denied serious disadvantages would result. In view of the
particular circumstances of Catholic affairs in Germany, We believe that We
should grant this petition. Furthermore, We declare that such mixed associations
as now exist within your dioceses can be tolerated and Catholics may be
permitted to join them, as long as such toleration does not cease to be
appropriate or permissible by reason of new and changed conditions. Necessary
precautions, however, must be adopted in order to avoid the dangers which, as
has already been mentioned, follow upon such associations.
The following are the most important of these precautions: In the first
place, provision should be made that Catholic workers who are members of the
trade unions must also belong to those Catholic associations which are known as
"Arbeitervereine." In the event that they must make some sacrifice for this
cause, even in a monetary way, We are convinced that they will readily do so for
the sake of safeguarding the integrity of their Faith. As has been happily
demonstrated, the Catholic workingmen's associations, aided by the clergy and by
its leadership and alert direction, are able to achieve very much toward
preserving the truths of religion and the purity of morals among their members,
and nourish the religious spirit through frequent practices of piety. Therefore,
the leaders of such associations, clearly recognizing the needs of the age, are
undoubtedly prepared to instruct the workers about their duties in justice and
charity, especially regarding all those commandments and precepts in which an
accurate knowledge is needed or useful in order to enable them to take an active
part in their trade unions according to the principles of Catholic doctrine.
7. Furthermore, if Catholics are to be permitted to join the trade unions,
these associations must avoid everything that is not in accord, either in
principle or practice, with the teachings and commandments of the Church or the
proper ecclesiastical authorities. Similarly, everything is to be avoided in
their literature or public utterances or actions which in the above view would
incur censure.
The Bishops, therefore, should consider it their sacred duty to observe
carefully the conduct of all these associations and to watch diligently that the
Catholic members do not suffer any harm as a result of their participation. The
Catholic members themselves, however, should never permit the unions, whether
for the sake of material interests of their members or the union cause as such,
to proclaim or support teachings or to engage in activities which would conflict
in any way with the directives proclaimed by the supreme teaching authority of
the Church, especially those mentioned above. Therefore, as often as problems
arise concerning matters of justice or charity, the Bishops should take the
greatest care to see that the faithful do not overlook Catholic moral teaching
and do not depart from it even a finger's breadth. (Pope Saint Pius X, Singulari Quadam, September 24, 1912.)
It is clearly the case that the modern trade union, which is far, far different than the workingmen's associations that received the approval of the Catholic Church at the turn of the Twentieth Century. Most modern trade union leaders are concerned, as I noted in Content With Sloth nearly two months ago now, with perquisites as members who do not work competently or who abuse their benefits are indemnified at every turn. More than a few members of trade unions are simple thugs who have used raw muscle to intimidate and/or beat up pro-life Americans who have had the "gall" to protest outside of venues where pro-abort pols such as Barack Hussein Obama and Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., have gone to speak. Leaders of most trade unions care not one whit about Catholic Social Teaching. They care only about their own power and their own "bottom line" just as much as the naturalists in the world of corporate management who receive bloated salaries for producing nothing of any real worth other than occupying a fancy title and a plush office with cushy furnishings. We are far removed from a world guided and informed by the Social Reign of Christ the King.
Those who are protesting in Wisconsin and Ohio at this time are not members of trade unions. They are members of civil service employees' unions who are paid handsome salaries with hefty benefits that have, at least until this time, required to pay little, if anything, out of their own pockets to retain. Public service is a public trust.
Sure, civil servants engaged in the protection of public safety and health (police officers, firemen, sanitation workers) are entitled to a just wage, a living wage. Unlike many other civil service positions that have been created to sustain unjust entitlement programs and to administer unjust and excessive government regulations and thus should be eliminated posthaste, civil service positions in the realm of public safety and health are quite necessary. Granted. Even such civil servants, however, have no right to strike, no right to disrupt the delivery of public services, no right to threaten public safety and health for any reason at any time, no less because they are desirous of maintaining various perquisites for which they have not heretofore been required to pay much, if anything, out of their own pockets.
Let me repeat myself: public service is a public trust, not a right, not an entitlement.
Look at the anger that has been engendered by simple, common sense proposal to rein in government spending in Wisconsin and Ohio.
Look at the insatiable greed and the unwillingness to make sacrifices to rein in government spending after years of profligate expenditures, much of which have gone to pay the very people who are protesting to hold down positions that are, at least in a lot of cases, absolutely superfluous to the pursuit of the common temporal good undertaken in light of man's Last End, the possession of the Beatific Vision of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost for all eternity in Heaven.
Look at all of the needless spirit of protest and angst engendered as a result of the simple fact that men are not united by the common bond of the Catholic Faith, thus causing people in both pro and anti Governor Scott Walker groups in Wisconsin to violate the precepts of the Eighth Commandment as they distribute "sick notes" from "doctors" to excuse them from work in order to participate in the current spectacle of the ongoing public protests in Madison, Wisconsin (see
Wis. Crowds Receive 'Fake' Doc Note). Behold a world awash in a sea of chaos and needless clashes caused by the fact that men are divided by the naturalistic, anti-Incarnational, religiously indifferentist and semi-Pelagian errors of Modernity.
As could have been predicted, the conciliar "bishops" of Wisconsin, led by the conciliar "archbishop" of Milwaukee, Jerome Listecki, whose archdiocese is being accused of sheltering over $100 million to keep it from being used to pay victims of clerical abuse during the sordid reign of the morally and doctrinally corrupt Rembert George Weakland, O.S.B. (see Timothy Dolan May Face Legal Deposition for information about the accusation; see Weak In Mind, Weakest Yet In Faith for information about Rembert George Weakland) from 1977 to 2002, have come out in favor of the union goons in Wisconsin who are crying to retain their goods as they continue to drink wantonly from the public trough (see Wisconsin conciliar "bishops"urge protection of workers' rights). This just proves yet again the stranglehold that naturalism of the "leftist" variety has on on the apostate mindset of the conciliar "bishops" in the United States of America now as but a continuation of the stranglehold that statism and leftism had on the Americanist bishops of yore in the early part of the Twentieth Century (see Dialectical Americanism).
Civil service employees' unions are not the persecuted, oppressed factory workers seeking just wages and safe working conditions and fair working hours in the late-Nineteenth and early-Twentieth Centuries. They are well-paid and politically potent groups, many of which support abortion and perversity with the dues of their members. The conciliar revolutionaries of the counterfeit church of conciliarism and the lords of the left of the civil state of Modernity are simply Kindred Spirits of the New World Order). Neither the conciliar revolutionaries or the lords of the left of the civil state of Modernity understand or accept the simple fact that nations that defy the binding precepts of the Divine Positive Law and the Natural Law as grave evils are protected under cover of the civil law and promoted freely in all aspects of what passes for popular culture can withstand the forces that they have let loose that will result ultimately in their utter annihilation from the face of the earth just as surely empires of the past crumbled into the dust bins of history.
Let us turn to the words of Pope Pius XI in his first encyclical letter, Ubi Arcano Dei Consilio, December 23, 1922, for some semblance of sanity as the farce of naturalism plays itself out in our country at this time:
13. It is most sad to see how this revolutionary spirit has penetrated into
that sanctuary of peace and love, the family, the original nucleus of human
society. In the family these evil seeds of dissension, which were sown long ago,
have recently been spread about more and more by the fact of the absence of
fathers and sons from the family fireside during the War and by the greatly
increased freedom in matters of morality which followed on it as one of its
effects. Frequently we behold sons alienated from their fathers, brothers
quarreling with brothers, masters with servants, servants with masters. Too
often likewise have we seen both the sanctity of the marriage tie and the duties
to God and to humankind, which this tie imposes upon men, forgotten.
14. Just as the smallest part of the body feels the effect of an illness
which is ravaging the whole body or one of its vital organs, so the evils now
besetting society and the family afflict even individuals. In particular, We
cannot but lament the morbid restlessness which has spread among people of every
age and condition in life, the general spirit of insubordination and the refusal
to live up to one's obligations which has become so widespread as almost to
appear the customary mode of living. We lament, too, the destruction of purity
among women and young girls as is evidenced by the increasing immodesty of their
dress and conversation and by their participation in shameful dances, which sins
are made the more heinous by the vaunting in the faces of people less fortunate
than themselves their luxurious mode of life. Finally, We cannot but grieve over
the great increase in the number of what might be called social misfits who
almost inevitably end by joining the ranks of those malcontents who continually
agitate against all order, be it public or private.
15. It is surprising, then, that we should no longer possess that security of
life in which we can place our trust and that there remains only the most
terrible uncertainty, and from hour to hour added fears for the future? Instead
of regular daily work there is idleness and unemployment. That blessed
tranquillity which is the effect of an orderly existence and in which the
essence of peace is to be found no longer exists, and, in its place, the
restless spirit of revolt reigns. As a consequence industry suffers, commerce is
crippled, the cultivation of literature and the arts becomes more and more
difficult, and what is worse than all, Christian civilization itself is
irreparably damaged thereby. In the face of our much praised progress, we behold
with sorrow society lapsing back slowly but surely into a state of barbarism.
16. We wish to record, in addition to the evils already mentioned, other
evils which beset society and which occupy a place of prime importance but whose
very existence escapes the ordinary observer, the sensual man -- he who, as the
Apostle says, does not perceive "the things that are of the Spirit of God" (I
Cor. ii, 14), yet which cannot but be judged the greatest and most destructive
scourges of the social order of today. We refer specifically to those evils
which transcend the material or natural sphere and lie within the supernatural
and religious order properly so-called; in other words, those evils which affect
the spiritual life of souls. These evils are all the more to be deplored since
they injure souls whose value is infinitely greater than that of any merely
material object. (Pope Pius XI, Ubi Arcano Dei Consilio, December 23, 1922.)
Have I mentioned lately that Catholicism is the one and only means of personal and social order?
Here we have, founded by Catholics, an
inter-denominational association that is to work for the reform of
civilization, an undertaking which is above all religious in character; for there is no true civilization without a moral civilization, and no
true moral civilization without the true religion: it is a proven truth,
a historical fact. (Pope Saint Pius X, Notre Charge Apostolique, August 15, 1910.)
As I have noted so many times before, no
formula of a naturalist of the "left" or of the "right" can produce true
improvement that will redound to men and their nations. It is only by
light of the Catholic Faith that men can see clearly enough to pursue
temporal matters in light of eternity.
Get out of the diabolical
trap of naturalism. Refuse to be agitated by the "talking heads" on
radio and television who do not understand anything about First and Last
Things and thus whose histrionics are nothing more than the injurious
babbling spoken of by Pope Pius IX in Quanta Cura, December 8, 1864, as they do not understand that the
remote cause of all human problems is Original Sin and that their
proximate causes are to be found in the Actual Sins of men and thus can
be remedied only by the daily conversion of souls as they seek to grow
in sanctity by cooperating with the graces sent to them by Our Blessed
Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the loving hands of His Most
Blessed Mother, she who is the Mediatrix of All Graces.
These "talking heads" make constant advertence to the genius of the "founding fathers," men who a founding hatred for Christ the King,
and their founding principles that have convinced men that they can
establish a social order without regard to any religion, no less the
true religion, which is the very premise of Judeo-Masonry. How can men
who believe in the very principles that are the fruit of the Protestant
Revolution against the Social Reign of Christ the King and of
Judeo-Masonry are the foundation of "American exceptionalism" help us to
understand issues that must be viewed through the deeper, supernatural
eyes of the Holy Faith? They can't.
What should we do?
Spend more time in prayer before Our Lord's Real Presence in the Most Blessed Sacrament, if this is at all possible.
Pray more Rosaries.
Make more sacrifices and make plans for some good Lenten fasting as we enter today upon the Septuagesima season of pre-Lenten preparations.
Pray for more crosses.
Pray for humiliation.
Pray to castigated and to be misunderstood and rejected more and more as was Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ throughout His life here on earth, especially during His fearful Passion and Death.
Enthrone your homes to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Read more books about the lives of the saints.
Stop watching television.
Don't be agitated by the lies of naturalists and their enablers.
Know that Our Lady's Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart will triumph.
Conscious of making reparation for our own sins,
which, although forgiven and thus no longer exist, are in need of our
making satisfaction here in this passing, mortal vale of tears before we
die, may our Rosaries each day help lift the scales of naturalism that
cloud our vision, thus making us courageous apostles of the Social Reign
of Christ the King who recognize and are unafraid to proclaim that
Catholicism is the one and only foundation of personal and social order.
