Blood Flows Freely In America and Libya
by Thomas A. Droleskey
“Now is the time to stop this unacceptable bloodshed,” said Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in a statement. (Chaos Grows in Libya; Defiant Qaddafi Vows to Fight On.)
Yes, Madam Secretary Clinton, now is indeed the time to stop this unacceptable bloodshed.
Although the Secretary of State of the United States of America, Hillary Rodham Clinton, was referring to the bloodshed that has been unleashed by Libya's madman of a dictator, "Colonel" Wilhelm Klink, I mean, "Colonel" Moammar Qaddafi, who has been engaged in a scorched earth policy to kill anyone and everyone who is protesting against his tyrannical regime in the streets of Tripoli, Libya, I am referring to the innocent blood that is shed right here in the United States of America on a daily basis, a bloodshed that has been promoted and enabled by the administration of President Barack Hussein Obama and Vice President Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr.
Yes, as pro-abortion officials in the United States of America and the elsewhere in the world most justifiably decry the bloodbath that has been engendered by "Colonel" Qaddafi's desperate attempt to retain power in the fiercely tribalized nation that is Libya, the daily bloodbath engendered by the chemical and surgical assassination of the innocent preborn and by the silent slaughter of the terminally ill in hospices in the name of provide "palliative relief" as they are given increasingly higher doses of medication that winds up stopping their hearts and by the starvation and dehydration of brain-damaged human beings under cover of the civil law continues unabated in the "civilized" West, including right here in the United States of America. While the bloodthirsty, amoral tactics of "Colonel" Daffy Qaddafi are indeed reprehensible and to be condemned in no uncertain terms, the slaughter of the innocent preborn and the elderly and the chronically and/or terminally ill in Western countries is no less reprehensible. Yet the slaughter of the innocent in the West is accepted with perfect aplomb in the false name of "human rights" and as various slogans ("choice," "liberty," "dignity," "compassion") are used to anesthetize the reality of the simple truth that willful, one of the four crimes that cry out to Heaven for vengeance, has made supposedly "civilized" nations slaughterhouse where the blood the innocent is shed with perfect impunity under cover of the civil law and without a qualm of conscience. (See also Foggy Bottom's Bloody Tradition.)
The merchants of the blood of the innocent in the United States of America, however, are not content to let their misguided consciences dictate the course of civil law and public policy. Fascists that they are to the core of their relativistic, naturalistic beings, these merchants of blood who serve in various capacities in the civil government (elected offices, political appointees, career civil servants, judges who serve during "good behavior," which means for life or until they resign or retire or are removed from office after being impeached and then found guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors) will not rest until they decide how far the consciences of those who dare to disagree with their "enlightenment" can go to absent themselves from participating in the slaughter of the innocent:
February 21, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com)
– In the wake of the Obama administration’s decision to axe a key
conscience protection regulation on Friday, pro-life groups and the U.S.
Catholic bishops have condemned the move, calling it a
“disappointment,” “outrageous” and a “blow” to medicine and conscience
rights.
The regulation, which was put in place in 2008 in the final days of
the Bush administration, protected the conscience rights of health care
providers who are opposed to providing abortifacient contraception, such
as the Plan-B “morning-after” pill.
On Friday the Health and Human Services Department under Secretary
Kathleen Sebelius, issued the new “final rule,” which leaves health-care
workers of federally funded entities a narrower conscience exemption
that only protects them from having to participate in abortions or
sterilizations.
Americans United for Life president and CEO Dr. Charmaine Yoest said
Friday: “This must come to an end. No longer should the civil rights of
medical professionals be held hostage to political interests.”
Yoest pointed out that while the Obama admin said on Friday that it
is a “civil right” not to participate in abortion, “in the same breath”
it “weakened federal regulations designed to protect that right.”
The pro-life leader said the move “underscores the necessity for
Congressional action,” saying that conscience rights “must not be
dependent on the whims of an Administration that has made expanding
abortion central to its mission.”
The Obama Administration received more than 300,000 comments when it
announced in 2009 that it intended to rescind the regulations enacted
under the Bush Administration. Nearly two-thirds of those comments
expressed opposition.
Dominique Monlezun, National Coordinator for Medical Students for
Life, called the decision “outrageous” and a “direct attack on the
entire medical community’s conscience and our oath to ‘do no harm.’”
Monlezun said that the decision undermines “the constitutional
rights” of health care workers. “Without the enforcement of the complete
Bush Conscience Rule, many of our peers will be forced to participate
in taking the life of human beings through medical abortion through
drugs, like Plan B and ella, and engaging in other objectionable medical
practices,” he said.
Kristan Hawkins, Executive Director of Students for Life, concurred,
saying that by revoking the regulation, “the Obama Administration
directly attacked pro-life medical professionals.”
“In forcing physicians and pharmacists to perform and comply with the
anti-life beliefs of the Obama Administration, medical professionals
are forced to simply be staff taking orders from President Obama about
how to practice medicine.”
Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council said on Friday: “Today’s
erosion of conscience protections for medical professionals is a blow
both to medicine and the right to practice one’s deeply-held
convictions.”
“It’s a sad fact that discrimination against health care workers who
object to participating in abortion is a continuing threat from both
federally-funded organizations and the government.”
Perkins urged Congress to pass the Abortion Non-Discrimination Act,
the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act” and the Protect Life Act.
“Americans overwhelmingly believe that conscience rights are legitimate and must be protected,” Perkins said.
In a statement Friday Deirdre McQuade of the Pro-Life Secretariat of
the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), called the
Obama admin’s move a “disappointment.”
At the same time, McQuade said the USCCB welcomed the
administration’s statement promising to “take initiative to increase
awareness of the conscience statutes, work to ensure compliance with
them, and require that government grants make clear that compliance is
required.”
McQuade said the USCCB looks forward to working with the admin to
ensure that this actually happens “so providers receive the full
conscience protection they are due.”
She also urged the administration to throw its weight behind the same
three pieces of pro-life legislation mentioned in Perkins’ statement -
the Protect Life Act (H.R. 358), the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion
Act (H.R. 3), and the Abortion Non-Discrimination Act (H.R. 361). (Pro-life groups, bishops blast 'outrageous' Obama admin move.)
As is always the case with well-meaning "conservative" Catholics who are attached to the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism, there is much, much more to this story that meets the eye at first glance.
First, the rule issued by outgoing President George Walker Bush in December of 2008 that has been partly reversed by the Kathleen Sebelius, the pro-abortion Catholic who serves as the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services, was a piece of pure political theater, designed to burnish the outgoing president's "pro-life" credentials in the final days of his own bloodstained administration. What the sappy "conservatives" who hailed the "Bush conscience protection rule" in 2008 and who are hailing it now forget is that it was under Bush's watch that that the Food and Drug Administration of the United States Department of Health and Human Services approved the over-the-counter sale of the so-called "Plan B emergency contraceptive" on August 24, 2006.
This is nothing other than head-spinning as we are supposed to give George Walker Bush "credit" for issuing a rule that he knew that his successor, then President-elect Barack Hussein Obama, was going to reverse, a rule that was designed to protect the conscience rights of those in the pharmaceutical and medical and health-care professions who did not want to distribute the very "Plan B emergency contraceptive" that his administration approved for over-the-counter sales to women over eighteen years of age. In other words, George Walker Bush issued a rule fully twenty-eight months after his own administration approved over-the-counter sales of the baby-killing potion named the "Plan B emergency contraceptive" to protect the "consciences" of those who did not want to distribute this form of human pesticide, meaning that their consciences were left unprotected under cover of the civil law for twenty-eight months. And Bush the Lesser is supposed to receive credit for this? Preposterous. Bush knew full well that his "rule" was merely symbolic, that Obama would alter or reverse it in due course.
For those of you who have short memories, here is the announcement that still appears in the 2006 press release archives of the website of the Food and Drug Administration of the United States Department of Health and Human Services :
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today
[August 24, 2006] announced approval of Plan B, a contraceptive drug, as an
over-the-counter (OTC) option for women aged 18 and older. Plan B is
often referred to as emergency contraception or the "morning after
pill." It contains an ingredient used in prescription birth control
pills--only in the case of Plan B, each pill contains a higher dose and
the product has a different dosing regimen. Like other birth control
pills, Plan B has been available to all women as a prescription drug.
When used as directed, Plan B effectively and safely prevents pregnancy.
Plan B will remain available as a prescription-only product for women
age 17 and under.
Duramed, a subsidiary of Barr Pharmaceuticals, will
make Plan B available with a rigorous labeling, packaging, education,
distribution and monitoring program. In the CARE (Convenient Access,
Responsible Education) program Duramed commits to:
- Provide consumers and healthcare professionals with labeling
and education about the appropriate use of prescription and OTC Plan B,
including an informational toll-free number for questions about Plan B;
- Ensure that distribution of Plan B will only be through
licensed drug wholesalers, retail operations with pharmacy services, and
clinics with licensed healthcare practitioners, and not through
convenience stores or other retail outlets where it could be made
available to younger women without a prescription;
- Packaging designed to hold both OTC and prescription Plan B.
Plan B will be stocked by pharmacies behind the counter because it
cannot be dispensed without a prescription or proof of age; and
- Monitor the effectiveness of the age restriction and the
safe distribution of OTC Plan B to consumers 18 and above and
prescription Plan B to women under 18.
Today's action concludes an extensive process that
included obtaining expert advice from a joint meeting of two FDA
advisory committees and providing an opportunity for public comment on
issues regarding the scientific and policy questions associated with the
application to switch Plan B to OTC use. Duramed's application raised
novel issues regarding simultaneously marketing both prescription and
non-prescription Plan B for emergency contraception, but for different
populations, in a single package.
The agency remains committed to a careful and
rigorous scientific process for resolving novel issues in order to
fulfill its responsibility to protect the health of all Americans. (FDA Approves Over-the-Counter Access for Plan B for Women 18 and Older; it took some searching, my good and very few readers, but I found the current link to this announcement)
It must be noted furthermore that the administration of former President George Walker Bush and former Vice President Richard Bruce Cheney did nothing to reverse the September 28, 2000 decision of the Food and Drug Administration during the tenure of former President William Jefferson Blythe Clinton and former Vice President Albert Arnold Gore, Jr. President George Walker Bush was as indifferent to the killing of innocent preborn children by this particular human pesticide as was
Texas Governor George Walker Bush when he was questioned about the FDA decision in his October 3, 2000, debate with Vice President Albert "Ozone Layer Hole" Gore:
MODERATOR: New question,
new subject. Governor Bush. If elected president, would you try to
overturn the FDA's approval last week of the abortion pill RU-486?
BUSH: I don't think a president can do that. I was
disappointed in the ruling because I think abortions ought to be more
rare in America, and I'm worried that that pill will create more
abortions and cause more people to have abortions. This is a very
important topic and it's a very sensitive topic, because a lot of good
people disagree on the issue. I think what the next president ought to
do is to promote a culture of life in America. Life of the elderly and
life of those women all across the country. Life of the unborn. As a
matter of fact, I think a noble goal for this country is that every
child, born or unborn, need to be protected by law and welcomed to life.
I know we need to change a lot of minds before we get there in America.
What I do believe is that we can find good, common ground on issues of
parental consent or parental notification. I know we need to ban partial
birth abortions. This is a place where my opponent and I have strong
disagreement. I believe banning partial birth abortions would be a
positive step to reducing the number of abortions in America. It is an
issue that will require a new attitude. We've been battling over
abortion for a long period of time. Surely this nation can come together
to promote the value of life. Surely we can fight off these laws that
will encourage doctors to -- to allow doctors to take the lives of our
seniors. Surely we can work together to create a cultural life so some
of these youngsters who feel like they can take a neighbor's life with a
gun will understand that that's not the way America is meant to be.
Surely we can find common ground to reduce the number of abortions in
America. As to the drug itself, I mentioned I was disappointed. I hope
the FDA took its time to make sure that American women will be safe who
use this drug.
MODERATOR: Vice President Gore?
GORE: Well, Jim, the FDA took 12 years, and I do
support that decision. They determined it was medically safe for the
women who use that drug. This is indeed a very important issue. First of
all on the issue of partial birth or so-called late-term abortion, I
would sign a law banning that procedure, provided that doctors have the
ability to save a woman's life or to act if her health is severely at
risk. That's not the main issue. The main issue is whether or not the
Roe v. Wade decision is going to be overturned. I support a woman's
right to choose. My opponent does not. It is important because the next
president is going to appoint three and maybe even four justices of the
Supreme Court. And Governor Bush has declared to the anti-choice group
that he will appoint justices in the mold of Scalia and Clarence Thomas,
who are known for being the most vigorous opponents of a woman's right
to choose. Here is the difference. He trusts the government to order a
woman to do what it thinks she ought to do. I trust women to make the
decisions that affect their lives, their destinies and their bodies. And
I think a woman's right to choose ought to be protected and defended.
MODERATOR: Governor, we'll go to the Supreme Court
question in a moment, but make sure I understand your position on
RU-486. If you're elected president, you won't support legislation to
overturn this?
BUSH: I don't think a president can unilaterally overturn it. The FDA has made its decision.
MODERATOR: That means you wouldn't, through appointments, to the FDA and ask them to --
BUSH: I think once a decision has been made, it's been made unless it's proven to be unsafe to women.
GORE: Jim, the question you asked, if I heard you
correctly, was would he support legislation to overturn it. And if I
heard the statement day before yesterday, you said you would order -- he
said he would order his FDA appointee to review the decision. Now that
sounds to me a little bit different. I just think that we ought to
support the decision.
BUSH: I said I would make sure that women would be safe who used the drug. (2000 Debate Transcript)
I very rarely write
sentences consisting of capitalized words to make a point emphatically.
The English language permits us to choose words without having to resort
to capitalized words and multiple exclamation points at the end of
sentences. I will make an exception in this instance, however;
THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA HAS
FULL POWER TO DIRECT HIS SUBORDINATES TO REVERSE ADMINISTRATIVE
DECISIONS MADE BY A PREDECESSOR'S ADMINISTRATION.
George Walker Bush decided NOT to reverse the
decision announced by the Food and Drug Administration on September 28,
2000, because he did not want to run the risk of electoral rejection for
doing so. To assert that the President of the United States of America
is powerless to reverse an administrative decision demonstrates a woeful
ignorance of the Constitution of the United States of America or a
deliberate effort to wash one's hands of a decision that one prefers to
see stand as it was made.
It is thus a disservice to the cause of truth that the well-meaning "conservative" Catholics at Lifesite News did not present the full history of George Walker Bush's abject betrayal of the cause of the innocent preborn. The man who rained down bombs of destruction upon innocent human beings in Iraq and Afghanistan and Pakistan exercised his
executive power quite selectively to justify an immoral and unjust invasion of Iraq on March 20, 2003, while waiting until the last days of his morally obtuse administration to issue the "conscience rule" that he knew would be reversed by his successor. This is nothing to be lauded, my friends. When will this kind of madness and rank intellectual dishonesty stop? The government of the United States of America was just as much a merchant of the blood of the innocent during the supposedly "pro-life" Bush-Cheney administration as it is under the openly pro-abortion Obama-Biden administration.
Second, therefore, it should be no cause of consternation to anyone that the pro-abortion Obama-Biden administration is showing itself to be quite faithful to the wicked, diabolical cause of the destruction of innocent preborn life, both by chemical and surgical means. Pro-abort presidents and their appointees are always more consistently pro-death than supposedly "pro-life" presidents and their appointees are anti-abortion. Indeed, many appointees in the Bush-Cheney administration were out-and-out, full-throated pro-aborts.
Third, why do "conservative" Catholics continue to give "Archbishop" Joseph Naumann, the conciliar "archbishop" of Kansas City, Kansas, a free pass for refusing to excommunicate the former Governor of Kansas and the current Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, from what they think, albeit falsely, is the Catholic Church?
Sure, "Archbishop" Naumann has told Sebelius that she should absent herself from the reception of what purports to be Holy Communion in the Protestant and Masonic Novus Ordo service. He refuses to excommunicate her, though, maintaining her in the same perfectly "good standing" that has been maintained by the likes of Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., House Minority Leader Nancy Patricia D'Alesandro Pelosi, Senate Majority Whip Richard Durbin, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy, California Governor Edmond G. Brown, Jr., Illinois Governor Patrick Quinn, and a host of other members of the United States Senate and United States House of Representatives as their own respective conciliar "ordinaries" have refused to state clearly that these insidious pro-aborts who have shown forth their hatred for Christ the King in the persons of the innocent preborn have excommunicated themselves from the bosom of Holy Mother Church. Then again, of course, the conciliar officials have excommunicated themselves from Holy Mother Church's maternal bosom by their embrace of the apostasies of conciliarism, including religious liberty, false ecumenism and separation of Church and State.
Fourth, the pathetic response of Deirdre McQuade of the Pro-Life Secretariat of the so-called United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is premised upon believing that Barack Hussein Obama and his bloody crew of pro-death apparatchiks really mean to enforce "conscience" provisions to exempt medical personnel from participating in surgical baby-killing. How is anyone supposed to believe pro-aborts who have demonstrated that they have lied repeatedly about the coverage of baby-killing in ObamaCare?
Yes, it is a good thing that the United States House of Representatives is taking action in the direction of defunding Planned Parenthood. As noted in an earlier commentary, Let It Be Established, the work of Planned Parenthood is evil not because its employees have been willing to provide contraceptive materials to those who have represented themselves falsely as participating in the disreputable trafficking of human beings. The work of Planned Parenthood, which was funded to the proverbial hilt by the "pro-life" Bush-Cheney administration, has been evil from its very inception as contraception is evil, and you will not hear any naturalist of the "right" admit publicly that this is so. Here is just a refresher from that earlier article:
Contraception is evil. Those who promote it are doing the devil's work, not God's, and it is this simple truth (truth is simple,
after all) that has invalidated the entirety of the "work" of Planned
Parenthood from its inception by Margaret Sanger as the American Birth
Control League in 1921 (the name became Planned Parenthood in 1942 after
several organizational changes in the late-1930s). We do not need
"sting" videos by people representing themselves falsely as operators of
criminal rings that employ women for immoral purposes to know that
Planned Parenthood not only does not deserve a single penny of taxpayer
funding from any level of government (Federal, state, local) but has not
right to exist at all as its very goals are hideous in the sight of the
true God of Divine Revelation and thus undermine the very fabric of
social order, starting with the stability of the family unit.
The statists of the "left" and many on the "right"
believe that contraception and abortion are matters of personal judgment
about which the civil state may not interfere. Such relativists are not
only oblivious to the simple moral truths enunciated briefly above,
they are also oblivious to how the ready availability of contraception
and abortion have decimated the indigenous populations of the formerly
Catholic countries of Europe to such an extent that Mohammedans stand on
the precipice of becoming the majority of the population in many of
these nations by the middle of this century, barring some unforeseen
development. The very social fabric of Western nations that has been
torn apart by contraception and abortion have created a
cradle-to-the-grave reliance upon entitlement programs offered by the
civil state that have bankrupted various nations in Europe and led to
major protests in others merely because there is talk of cutting back
the statist goodies. Or, perhaps more to the point, this is precisely
what the statists desire to order to augment their control over us, who
they consider to be the mere creatures of the state.
There is only one way to stop the shedding of the blood of the innocent preborn without any exception, qualification or reservation whatsoever: to plant the seeds for the conversion of men and their nations to the true Faith, outside of which there is no salvation and without which there can be no true social order. We must pray and work for the fulfillment of Our Lady's Fatima Message and the Triumph of her Immaculate Heart. While it is certainly all well and good for those who oppose all abortions, both chemical and surgical, without any exception at all to use the legislative process and litigation to seek to limit the evils of baby-killing, we must never lose sight of the simple truth that such evils as baby-killing and euthanasia are accepted today and promoted under cover of the civil law because of the after-effects of the Protestant Revolution and the rise of what can be called Judeo-Masonry, which reduces the entirety of human existence to the merely natural level as souls such as George Walker Bush and Barack Hussein Obama claim, albeit in slightly different ways, that moral issues that divide "good people" are "difficult" and that we must "tolerate" a "diversity" of opinions.
Blood does indeed flow in Libya at this time. Blood flows, however, right here in our own midst, which means that we must be ever conscious as the consecrated slaves of Christ the King through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of His Most Blessed Mother, Mary our Immaculate Queen, of the necessity of making reparation for the shedding of the blood of the innocent here in the "free" and "democratic" and "civilized" United States of America.
It is quite ironic that Moammar Qaddafi's bloodletting at this time is being criticized by those who let loose the flow of innocent blood in the United States of America as the Libyan strongman once praised Barack Hussein Obama, calling him "my son:"
Referencing Obama as "my son," Qaddafi said: "We are happy that a
young African Kenyan was voted for and made president. Obama is a
glimpse in the dark for the next four years, but I'm afraid we may go
back to square one.
"Can the U.S. guarantee after Obama that they'll be a government? We're happy and content if he can stay forever." (Qaddafi Lauds Obama, Attacks U.S., West)
Qaddafi is not wishing such things now as he tries to stay in power "forever" in Libya. This, though, does not make Barack Hussein Obama any less an ideological "son" of Qaddafi's as the two simply go about the business of killing innocent human beings in different ways. Qaddafi does so openly and brutally in the name of his own power. Obama does so in the name of "women's rights" and "toleration" and "diversity." Both have the blood of the innocent dripping from their hands nevertheless, which is why we must intensify our prayers for their conversion to the true Faith before they die.
Conscious of making reparation for our own sins, especially during this season of Septuagesima, which, although forgiven and thus no longer exist, are in need of our making satisfaction here in this passing, mortal vale of tears before we die, may our Rosaries each day help lift the scales from the likes of the confused public officials in the world today, thereby hastening their return or conversion to the Catholic Church, outside of which there is no salvation and without which there can be no true or lasting social order.
