Tone Deaf

by Thomas A. Droleskey

"He doesn't know." "If only he had the facts." "He's surrounded by bad men." "He just has to go with the recommendations of the Congregation for the Bishops." He's trying to avoid a schism."

These were among the explanations given to me by various and sundry apologists for the false pontificate of Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II in the 1980s. Although I was enthusiast of the Wojtyla "papacy" from around 1978 to the time of the altar girl decision in 1994, projecting my own fondest hopes for the restoration of the Church into the mind and heart of Polish prelate, who was, unlike his "successor," a validly consecrated bishop, the one area that disturbed me the most was the late John Paul II's appointment of "bishops." One bad "episcopal" appointment after another kept being made even in the early years of the Wojtyla era. The most shocking to me in those early years was the promotion of the nefarious Archbishop Joseph Bernardin (another validly consecrated bishop) from his post as the conciliar archbishop of Cincinnati, Ohio, where his vocations office used the "grand master" of the Mount Washington Masonic Lodge as the psychologist who "screened" men applying for seminary study, to the conciliar archbishop of Chicago, Illinois. "How could this happen?" I asked my friend Father Vincent Miceli at a dinner in Massapequa Park, New York, in January of 1983. Father Miceli's response: "Oh, don't kid yourself. Wojtyla's a liberal. He worked with Bernardin at the [Second Vatican] Council."

As I have noted in many other articles on this site, I listened to everyone who tried to explode my papalotry in the 1980s. I knew that something had to be wrong for the "bad bishops" to be appointed and promoted one after the other, to say nothing of how many "bad bishops" were left in their dioceses to ruin souls with the rot of doctrinal and liturgical aberrations that went beyond even those officially approved by the counterfeit church of conciliarism. There was no other conclusion, albeit an intermediate one, to draw than the one I reached by the end of the 1990, that one man is solely responsible for these "bad bishops," Karol Wojtyla. Although I was some four years away from coming to the recognition that the Catholic Church herself cannot give us bad doctrine and liturgical rite that are offensive to God and harmful to souls, Time for Plain Talk, written in March of 2001, was an attempt to remind readers that the man responsible for the scandals that had exploded into full public view was the one who had appointed the "bad bishops" and who had kept them in power even after incontrovertible proof of their own particular moral corruption--and enabling thereof by others--had been brought to his personal attention, Karol Wojtyla.

It was my hope as an indulterer in the 1990s that Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II would create an "apostolic administration" for the offering of the modernized version of the Immemorial Mass of Tradition, believing that such a move would permit the Faith of our fathers to spread more and more amongst ordinary Catholics and force the Novus Ordo Missae to disappear. Such a view was quite mistaken. I know that now. My "hope" was premised on the expectation that such an apostolic administration would be outside of the purview of the conciliar "bishops," thereby providing ordinary Catholics with a refuge from the doctrinal aberrations of conciliarism (the new ecclesiology, ecumenism, religious liberty, separation of Church and State) and from the demands of the conciliar "bishops" that even home-schooled children preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation must be indoctrinated in the rot of explicit classroom instruction in matters pertaining to the Sixth and Ninth Commandments. The conciliar "bishops" would never permit such a thing. Neither would the conciliar "Vatican," which is why Joseph Ratzinger has kept insisting on full adherence to the decrees of the "Second" Vatican Council in the aftermath of the issuance of Summorum Pontificum three and one-half months.

The Same Old Song and Dance

Joseph Ratzinger's "episcopal" appointments demonstrate full well that he intends to reward the "field commanders" of the conciliar revolution by promoting their lieutenants to their own rank of field commander so as to carry on the revolutionary causes in full battle array. There is no intention on "restoring tradition" by means of the "episcopal" appointments in the United States of America or anywhere else in the world. There is an intention only on furthering the cause of conciliarism's revolution against the Faith (Bishop Fernando Rifan's recent comments about the "live magisterium" and its "proper" interpretation of the documents of the past will be reviewed real soon, I promise). Does the evidence on this score have to be presented over and over again?

William Levada. Who promoted him to be the prefect of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the [Conciliar] Faith? Joseph Ratzinger.

George Niederauer. Who promoted him to be Levada's successor as the conciliar "archbishop" of San Francisco despite his clear record in support of those who practice perversion and his enabling of at least one priest-pervert? Joseph Ratzinger.

Roger Mahony. Who keeps him in power despite his having paid an aggregate of nearly three quarters of a billion dollars to pay victims of perverted priests in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles? Joseph Ratzinger.

John Foley. Who promoted the president of the "Pontifical" Council for Social Communications to the conciliar college of cardinals despite his having introduced the "world premiere" of Nativity Story, a motion picture that denies the doctrinal effects of Our Lady's Immaculate Conception by portraying her to be a sulky, disobedient teenager, at the Paul VI Audience Hall on November 26, 2006? Joseph Ratzinger. Oh, wait a minute on this one. Joseph Ratzinger approved this world premiere.

Jaime Soto. Who has promoted this "auxiliary bishop" of the Diocese of Orange to be the "coadjutor bishop" of the Diocese of Sacramento? Joseph Ratzinger. Why is this so bad? Ah, for the rest of the story.

"Bishop" Jaime Soto and the Corrupt Diocese of Orange

"Bishop" Soto's appointment shows just how tone deaf Joseph Ratzinger, a concert pianist, is to the reality of life in his own conciliar structures. What kind of signal does the appointment of Jaime Soto, who helped to enable the same priest-pervert who had been enabled by George Niederauer, send to those in the conciliar structures who have been scandalized and alienated by the consistent browbeating of conciliar chancery officials and lawyers and insurance company representatives for their daring to have brought forth the facts of what happened to them into plain view? Never mind Soto's other liabilities, which will be discussed in brief momentarily. What does it say about one's grip on reality to affirm a man who has been part and parcel of a diocese that has paid out over $100 million in settlements to victims of perverted priests? One would think that simple common sense in purely human terms that it might be a good idea, if for no other reason than for public relations, not to promote men who have been associated with such moral decadence.

Alas, that is the heart of the matter, is it not? Those who endorse and suborn the doctrinal and liturgical corruption wrought by the conciliarism will be very tone deaf when it comes to the matter of clerical moral corruption. Look at how Tarcisio Bertone, the conciliar Vatican's Secretary of State (whose recent comments denigrating the nature of Our Lady's Fatima Message will be reviewed later today, Tuesday, October 23, 2007), defiantly defended the way in which the American "bishops" have handled the continuing crisis of perversion with their clerical ranks. The attitude of the conciliar Vatican is almost one of "we'll show them we can do whatever we want." Appointing Jaime Soto to be the conciliar "bishop" of Sacramento is yet another slap in the face to all who have suffered under the moral corruption and degradation of the conciliar "bishops" in the State of California, which featured an actual baby-killer as a member of the priest-abuse review board created by now retired "bishop" Sylvester Ryan of the Diocese of Monterey, as the following story reveals:

Bp. Soto's plea for convicted priest-pervert

I cannot help but think of the old battle cry (Georg Buechner)"Friede den Huetten, Krieg den Palaesten" - "Peace to the huts, war to the palaces" - or chanceries in this case. The sickening, evil child rape and its cover-up by a clique of old buddies back from Camarillo (L.A.'s seminary) days really wants you to gather the villagers, pitchforks and torches and clean up, once and for all. The monsignors, bishops, cardinals responsible should all be rotting in prison. (To be fair, I know good priests who went through that seminary in recent years. These people represent earlier generations)

Fr. Andrew Christian Andersen, serial sex offender (his taste: adolescent boys). 26 counts. Prison time for these assaults ? Zero. Why? Fellow priests urged the judge for therapy instead. One of those priests ? The just-designated co-adjutor bishop of Sacramento, Jaime Soto, originally from Orange County.

Diogenes has the story

Today, boys and girls, we take up the edifying story of Father Andrew Christian Andersen, a former priest of the Diocese of Orange and a multiple molester of underage youths. Two years ago the L.A. Times gave us a synopsis of Andersen's adventures in pastoral ministry: It previously had been reported that Andersen was accused in 1983 of molesting a boy. [Then-Bishop of Orange William R. Johnson] ordered him into therapy, but he remained at his Huntington Beach parish, St. Bonaventure, and in charge of the altar boys. Three years later, the priest faced up to 56 years in state prison after being convicted of 26 felony counts of child molestation, according to court documents.

56 years in prison -- or a decent fraction thereof -- would have helped Andersen understand the gravity of his offense, as well as giving his victims a sense of justice done. Didn't happen:

The judge gave Andersen no prison time and instead ordered him to enter a Catholic rehabilitation center in New Mexico. Four years later, in 1990, Andersen was arrested in Albuquerque on suspicion of trying to sodomize a 14-year-old boy, and was ordered to serve six years in prison for violating his probation in the California case. Twenty-six convictions and zero prison time? How did that come about? Well, it seems Andersen's erstwhile spiritual director wrote the judge urging therapy at the Servants of the Paracletes treatment center in New Mexico as an alternative to the slammer. His reason? Andersen's victims may have confused innocent horseplay for, well, less-than-innocent horseplay. It's really difficult sometimes to tell horseplay from anal rape.

Here now the letter by Bishop Jaime Soto. Good luck, Sacramento.

Chris Andersen and I together attended St. John's Seminary College and St. John's Seminary. He and I developed during those years of study a friendship which was a great consolation to me especially during a very trying third year of graduate work. I grew to admire and respect Chris both for his insightfulness and well as the tender compassion he possessed for those who were suffering. As we entered the seminary together our friendship provided a mutual support during the fledgling days of priesthood and I saw him as a very capable and compassionate minister. He seemed to approach the ministry with a sense of confidence that was tethered by equal amount of humility.

Chris Andersen's present difficulties (euphemism of the year) pain me very much not only because he is a friend but also because he is an associate in the ministry. Our works brings us into intimate contact (a lil too intimate, no ?) with people's lives. In a time when the exchange of simple affections (and who among us doesn't show simple affection with their penis ?) within the most intimate of circles has become a rare commodity, our associations with others run the grave risk of being misunderstood by all parties including perhaps the priest himself. There is cause therefore to exercise prudence and right judgment while at the same time pursuing the mission of Church to bring healing and comfort. If Chris has failed in exercising such prudence or has in fact abused the privilege provided him by the people of God I would the hope the court would seek some remedial means of dealing with the case at hand as opposed to extensive incarceration.

Who was his spiritual director in seminary ? George Niederauer, who also asked the court for mercy for this pervert. More info:

It previously had been reported that Andersen was accused in 1983 of molesting a boy. Then-Bishop Johnson ordered him into therapy, but he remained at his Huntington Beach parish, St. Bonaventure, and in charge of the altar boys.

Three years later, the priest faced up to 56 years in state prison after being convicted of 26 felony counts of child molestation, according to court documents.

Tuesday's release of documents added new details. A 1986 evaluation of Andersen by Kenneth Fineman, a consulting psychologist for the diocese, reported that "in the parish, fantasies involving young boys occupied 50% of his fantasy life" and that "incarceration would not be an effective deterrent for this man."

George Niederauer, Andersen's spiritual director at St. John's Seminary in Camarillo and now bishop of Salt Lake City, wrote to Luis A. Cardenas, an Orange County Superior Court judge at the time, and pleaded for leniency.

Andersen "might well have misjudged what was appropriate physical expression especially given the atmosphere of adult-child contacts in our society at present," wrote Niederauer, adding that the boys might have misconstrued "wrestling" or "horse play" as sexual abuse.

Jaime Soto, now auxiliary bishop of Orange, also wrote to the judge, downplaying Andersen's crimes.

"Our work brings us into intimate contact with people's lives," he wrote. "In a time when the exchange of simple affection within the most intimate of circles has become a rare commodity, our associations with others run the grave risk of being misunderstood by all parties including perhaps the priest himself."

Soto and Niederauer couldn't be reached for comment.

The documents also described how Urell and Driscoll devised a plan in 1994 to pay Andersen between $9,000 and $19,000 to quietly leave the priesthood, according to correspondence between church officials.

Msgr. Urell is the poor soul who had a nervous breakdown during testimony re: Orange County sex abuse and was shipped to Canada by Bishop Tod Brown.
....
In the interest of children reading, I cannot express my unbridled sentiments here.

What a wonderful time they all must have had in L.A.'s seminary.  Bp. Soto's plea for convicted priest-pervert

Despite the belief of at least one "pro-life" activist, conveyed to me by a genuine national pro-life leader via an e-mail, that Jaime Soto is "pro-life," no one is pro-eternal life who can minimize the crime of a Father Christian Andersen. Saint John's Seminary in Camarillo, California, has proved itself to have been a breeding ground of clerical corruption over the years that has cost the Catholics of California over $1 billion in payments made to the victims of those whose absolute and firm commitment to committing perverse sins against the Sixth and Ninth Commandment was reaffirmed time and time again with the institutional structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism. "Bishop" Jaime Soto, who expressed regret in 2005 over having letter that letter in behalf of Father Christian Anderson, claiming that he did not know the "details" of the case, is just part and parcel of the corrupt clerical system of conciliarism that has been praised by Tarcisio Bertone as having done such an excellent job of dealing with a problem that has been "overblown" by the secular media. Bertone even went so far in August as to say that the problems in other false religious denominations were worse than in the counterfeit church of conciliarsm, as though this absolves the authorities in conciliar chancery offices of the ways in which they sought to browbeat and intimidate members of the laity who brought their concerns to them in the hope that they would receive a fair hearing from their shepherds, not realizing that they were dealing with ravenous, corrupt wolves disguised in shepherds' clothing.

Support for the Homosexual Collective

"Bishop" Soto has also demonstrated his support for the agenda of those who identify themselves by their persistence in perverse sins against the Sixth and Ninth Commandments, speaking at a meeting of the National Association of Gay and Lesbian Ministries, a group that should never be allowed to exist within the context of anything daring to call itself "Catholic." We do not identify ourselves on the basis of an "orientation" in the direction of the commission of any particular sin, whether perverse or natural. Here is an account of the group with which "Bishop" Soto has been affiliated and even spoke before in the year 2003:

By Iwana Wu

Glaring differences separated the 1997 National Association of Catholic Diocesan Lesbian and Gay Ministries conference, held in Long Beach, and the 2003 conference, dubbed "Out in the Desert: A Wellspring of Hope," which was held in Palm Springs the weekend of September 25-28.

The 1997 conference, sponsored by the Los Angeles archdiocese's ministry to gays and lesbians, was loud and proud. It had scores of archdiocesan personnel taking part. During the Saturday evening Mass, celebrated by Cardinal Roger Mahony, a long procession of priests accompanied the cardinal to the altar. The Mass itself was peppered with members of Dignity, a homosexual rights group which has been condemned by the Vatican. They were readily recognized, since all of them sported tee shirts with Dignity logos. Cardinal Mahony freely handed out communion to all to came up to the altar that had been set up in the ballroom. After the Mass, while Bob Hurd and his orchestra played, a large group of conference attendees began line dancing throughout the hotel ballroom. With Carmelite father Peter Liuzzi dressed in a full length cassock with a monsignor's sash and hat (reminiscent of Saturday Night Live's Father Guido Sarducci) leading the festivities, the band then started playing Gypsy Rose Lee's famous strip-tease tune. According to one Los Angeles priest, Liuzzi is no longer a Carmelite. The Los Angeles archdiocese's ministry to gays and lesbians was shut down last year.

The air was electric at the Long Beach conference. There was a feeling that the Church would soon embrace the homosexual lifestyle. One priest, Father Kenneth Waibel of Richmond, Kentucky, told his audience that homosexuals were on the brink of outright acceptance by the Church. In his talk, "Gay and Lesbian Spirituality," Waibel said that the "only authentic spirituality is gay spirituality." Waibel then praised the tactics of the feminist nuns who "went out and got Ph.Ds and challenged the bishops and changed things." In 2000, Waibel was arrested for [committing indecent acts] in park. In an interview with the Kentucky Herald-Leader, Waibel questioned the Church's teaching on priestly celibacy. This past September, the diocese of Lexington, Kentucky excommunicated Waibel. After this announcement, Waibel said that he would be joining the Orthodox Catholic Church of America. At the 1997 Los Angeles conference, Waibel had told participants that the church was on "a collision course with itself because," in dealing with homosexuality, "it made a big boo boo" in the Catechism.

By contrast to 1997, this year's Palm Springs conference was a mild affair. There were no visible signs of Dignity; although one fellow did say he was from the San Diego chapter, he was not, however, wearing a Dignity tee shirt. Though the prayers that were composed especially for the conference were telling of the mindset of the group, the former flamboyance was starkly absent. In the "Litany of Hope, Pride and Gratitude," prayers were offered for "A Welcoming Church; an Inclusive Society; Accepting Families; for all lesbians and gay men who have made a difference in our world; for loving partners and visionary Bishops."

At the Long Beach Mass, leavened bread was used instead of hosts, with Cardinal Mahony denying one young woman communion on the tongue. "No, this isn't done here," he told her. The Mass in Palm Springs, over which Bishop Gerald Barnes presided, was not on the liturgical cutting edge; for instance, Barnes consecrated unleavened hosts. In his homily, Bishop Barnes told the participants that he was sorry for the "strife they had endured," according to the inland Southern California Press-Enterprise. "I know your particular ministry is not easy. Some would say you don't belong. But we know that's not true because the Lord Himself says that."

The strife Bishop Barnes may have been referring to was the fallout after the 1997 conference in Long Beach. The protests then held outside of the Long Beach Sheraton and the press accounts of the wildness that marked that conference gave rise to protests at numerous conferences that the National Conference of Catholic Diocesan Lesbian and Gay Ministries held in subsequent years. For example, last year, members of Catholics for Traditional Values protested the conference in Cincinnati.

The diocese of San Bernardino provided numerous resources for this year's conference. Father Eliseo Lucas, a member of the diocese's ministry to gays and lesbians, gave a presentation, "Is It Possible to be Gay or Lesbian and Catholic?" Fathers Paul Granillo, Howard Lincoln, and Martin Diaz of the diocese of San Bernardino were all present. In addition, Bishop Jaime Soto, auxiliary of the diocese of Orange, gave a talk. Most of the participants were older to elderly.

The first featured speaker at the conference was Father Jake Empereur who is author of the book, Spiritual Direction and the Gay Person. At the beginning of his book, Empereur writes, "Homosexuality is one of God's most significant gifts to humanity. To be Gay or Lesbian is to have received a special blessing from God." Empereur belongs to the Wisconsin Province of the Society of Jesus but is currently a liturgist with the cathedral in San Antonio, Texas. The California Province of the Society of Jesus was a sponsor of the conference, according to literature distributed at the conference.

In spite of the tame nature of the conference, the conference's web site cautioned that all members of the press had to represent themselves as such. "Persons attending this conference as reporter (either staff or freelance) are required to identify themselves and the media outlet(s) they are representing at the time of registration," said the website. "NACDLGM reserves the right to control access to the conference or portions of the proceedings to media representatives. Failure to disclose media affiliation may result in violation of libel laws." The sole person manning the registration table did not ask if conference goers, as they picked up their name tags, were members of the media. The conference, which was held at the Palm Springs Hilton, was easily accessible to the public.

Perhaps the most telling session was the National Association of Catholic Diocesan Lesbian and Gay Ministries membership meeting, held on Friday afternoon. The various committee reports that were distributed showed that membership has been declining. Overall the group is losing membership and is struggling to get more members. By its own figures, "membership has decreased since September 2002." According to the strategic plan, the National Association is in a "period where there exists formal and organized opposition to raise the gay and lesbian banner in some Church groups and parishes." At one session, which was led by Terrie Iacino of the diocese of San Jose, the issue of child sexual abuse was addressed. The participants admitted that the high profile molestation cases made their mission more difficult.

The most telling document passed out at the membership meeting was a "Report on Bishop Advisors," prepared by National Association founder, Father Jim Schexnayder. The background notes discuss the need for "diocesan bishops, auxiliary bishops and retired bishops who would be recommended to serve as unofficial advisors" to the group. According to the notes, Monsignor John Strynkowski, executive director of the United States bishops' Secretariat for Doctrine and Pastoral Practices, reviewed the list and made comments. The National Association made contacts with bishops across that country with the hope of finding support. The results were as follows: Bishop Howard Hubbard of Albany declined because of other commitments. Bishop Dale Melczek of Gary, Indiana, did not respond to inquiries. Bishop Walter Sullivan of Richmond will soon retire, and Bishop Joseph Imesch of Joliet had not been contacted when the report was written. Auxiliary Bishop Carl Moeddel of Cincinnati, as well as Auxiliary Bishop Peter Rosazza of Hartford, both declined. Bishop Thomas Costello of Syracuse did agree to act as a consultant, although it was noted that he is about to retire. Retired bishops who were contacted included Bishop John Snyder of St. Augustine, who said he declined because the new bishop of St. Augustine decided to disband the ministry. Archbishop John Quinn of San Francisco also declined. Strynkowski indicated that Bishop Leroy Matthiesen of Lubbock and Bishop Charles Buswell were "problematic."

One conference participant said bishops were hesitant to have their names linked with the national diocesan gay and lesbian group, especially in the conservative Catholic press. "It's not a career builder," was the conclusion she offered. Los Angeles Lay Catholic Mission | November 2003

Association with the "National Association of Gay and Lesbian Ministries" was not a career-breaker for "Bishop" Soto, now was it? Just par for the course in the sordid climate of the California ecclesiastical landscape of the counterfeit church of conciliarism.

Indeed, "Bishop" Soto's involvement with the Homosexual Collective, which propagandizes in behalf of perversity under various front organizations that attempt to generate sympathy for those steeped in unrepentant Mortal Sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance by the use of the slogans "compassion" and "dignity" and "tolerance" and "diversity," is pretty extensive, as a post by a reader on the California Catholic Daily website reveals:

St. Francis Church in Sacramento is well-known nationally as a "gay-friendly" parish. Sacramento Bishop William Weigand knows this but does nothing. In recent weeks and months there have been "gay" Masses and ""gay" potlucks at the parish. Bishop Weigand knows this but does nothing. He will probably continue to do nothing, and now that he will have a coadjutor, Bishop Jaime Soto, he will continue to do nothing since Bishop Soto has on several occasions shown himself to be "gay"-friendly, including speaking at a National Association of Catholic Diocesan Lesbian and Gay Ministries (NACDLGM) conference held in the "gay" mecca of Palm Springs, in 2003. The conference theme was "Out (of the closet) in Palm Springs." He also celebrated Mass at the National Catholic AIDS Network (NCAN) conference in 2006. NCAN is a "gay" front organization. The PFLAG event to be held at St. Francis will be a further compromise of the Catholic faith in Sacramento. At a prior "Service of Remembrance" at St. Francis, a list of the names of so-called "victims" of homophobia was read, in mournful tones, and artifacts of the "gay" lifestyle, such as rainbows, triangles, and lavender bows were plentifully and artfully displayed. The program provided the names of the "victims". Some could never be located in resource material. Others were victims of each other. In other words, they were homosexuals who were killed by their "lovers", "partners", etc., or whose deaths were not explained. This PFLAG event is an enormous boondoggle to further the cause of acceptance of sodomy, and the creation of a preferred subset of the population - one that is helping to destroy many of our young people and which has already wreaked enormous costs to our Church in the unleashing of priest-homosexuals on our young boys and men.

Fostering the Breaking of Legitimate Laws in the Name of Immigrant "Rights"

The situation concerning "Bishop" Jaime Soto is actually a lot worse than all of this. Although he did state in 2003 that one cannot be Catholic and pro-abortion in public life and did make a brief reference to the "wound of abortion" in a letter dated January 22, 2007, he went on to equate that "wound" with the necessity of working for the "rights" of illegal immigrants and for the abolition of the death penalty, both of which indicate not only misplaced priorities but outright misrepresentations of the teaching of the Catholic Church, a little matter that, of course, bothers the conciliar revolutionaries not one little whit as they continue to deceive ordinary Catholics into thinking that what they spout endless is actually in accord with the Deposit of Faith that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ entrusted to the true Church that He created upon the Rock of Peter, the Pope.

Concerned Roman Catholics of America, Inc., issued the following advisory following "Bishop" Soto's promotion by Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI to be the conciliar coadjutor "bishop" of Sacramento, California:

Following in Cardinal Mahony's footsteps, the bishops of Orange have turned their minimal pro-life efforts over to a vast and active Peace and Justice Committee concentrating on issues including third world debt, hunger, healthcare for the uninsured, a "peace quiz" etc

Bishop Jaime Soto has created a dynamic Deanery Program to tackle all the social justice issues…all issues except pro-life. His e-newsletter, issued in January lists two "Priority Issues" for 2006-2007. They are: 1. Immigration and 2. Abolition of the Death Penalty. (Bishop Jaime Soto's Diocese of Orange Peace and Justice Newsletter January 2007) Abolishing abortion is not listed. Pro-life is not even listed as a "Priority Issue". And of all the events listed for the upcoming 3 months for all the parishes (62) in all the Deaneries—NONE ARE ADDRESSING ABORTION OR PROLIFE! And the April 2007 e-newsletter from Bishop Soto is even worse. (Bishop Jaime Soto's Diocese of Orange Peace and Justice Newsletter April 2007) There were "Hunger and Justice Meetings", "Walk out of Poverty" at St. Pius parish, a showing of Democrat (and pro-abortion politician) Al Gore's movie—Inconvenient Truth—at Holy Family, and "an Immigration event" at St. John Neumann. NOTHING IN 6 MONTHS REGARDING PRO LIFE IN ANY OF THE 62 Diocese of Orange PARISHES.

There are NO events, letters, legislative issues or activities, speakers or educational evenings for pro life, even though they were instructed by the USCCB in their Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities http://www.la-archdiocese.org/ministry/life/plan/index.html that Pro Life work MUST BE the place where ALL social justice work BEGINS and that ALL OTHER SOCIAL JUSTICE ISSUES RIGHTFULLY FALL BENEATH Pro Life.

Pro Life is NOWHERE on the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange website. No attention, no activities, no action, no time, no money, nothing. Pro life is not being addressed by Bishop Tod Brown, Bishop Jaime Soto nor the Deanery Program.

Well, this is almost entirely true. A careful review of the "Bishop" Soto's own April, 2007, "Peace and Justice" newsletter reveals that "reverence for life" is listed on page 3 of the newsletter and that "Bishop" Soto himself does express the necessity of opposing an "assisted suicide" bill pending the California State Legislature. As the advisory from Concerned Roman Catholics of America, Inc., points out, however, no pro-life activities were listed for any of the parishes in the Diocese of Orange under conciliar control. This would include any announcements of parish-sponsored Rosary rallies in front of killing centers or efforts to keep young parishioners away from Planned Parenthood mills.

Here is an excerpt from "Bishop" Soto's own April, 2007, "Peace and Justice" newsletter of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Orange:

As a demonstration of friendship and solidarity, Deanery IV (Blessed Sacrament) co-sponsored a Father’s Day celebration for Buddhist monks at the nearby Geden Shoeling Tibetan Center.

Hearing on Comprehensive Immigration Reform—Over 100 Peace & Justice parish reps attended the Hearing on Comprehensive  Immigration Reform held at Saint Norbert Church on June 2nd. Bishop Gerald Barnes, Chair of the Migration Committee for the United States Catholic Bishops and Bishop Jaime Soto, member of the Catholic Legal Immigration Network listened to testimony from organizations regarding immigrant youth and immigrant families.

Lawbreaking Illegal Immigrants and the Stealing of an Election from [now] former United States Representative Robert K. Dornan

The "orientation," if you will, of "Catholic" Charities of the Diocese of Orange in conciliar captivity is much the same as the "orientation" of such offices throughout the United States of America, namely, one of abject leftism and a quasi-liberation theology that has been shaped in very large measure, although certainly not exclusively, by the programs sponsored over the decades by Saul Alinsky's Industrial Areas Foundation. The quasi-Marxist bent of "Catholic" Charities offices in one diocese under conciliar captivity after another has resulted in a very elaborate network of alliances with pro-abortion causes, including, at least in the instance 1996 election between then United States Representative Robert K. Dornan and challenger Loretta Sanchez Brixey (she dropped the use of her married name in 1994), a pro-abortion, pro-perversity Catholic, for the United States House of Representatives seat in the Forty-sixth Congressional District of California, of the registration of illegal residents to vote. "Catholic" Charities of the Diocese of Orange, reports have indicated over the years, worked closely with an Alinsky-organized-and funded organization, Hermandad Mexicana Nacional, to register illegal aliens and resident aliens who were not citizens of the United States of America to vote for Sanchez and against Bob Dornan.

What did "Bishop" Jaime Soto know about this as the Director of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Orange? Was he out of the loop? Does he condemn efforts to register illegal aliens to defeat Bob Dornan? Did he conduct an investigation into the charges after they were made? (Remember, Janet Reno said at the time that she knew of no statute making it illegal for non-citizens to vote.) Does he believe that Loretta Sanchez Brixey is disqualified to hold any office of public trust precisely because she supports the slicing and dicing of innocent human beings under the cover of law?

The Connection between "Catholic" Charities and the "Catholic" Campaign for Human Development with Alinsky Organizations

What is clear, however, is "Bishop" Soto's link to the Alinsky-based organizations, which learn how to "reinvent" themselves after they have been exposed in order to indemnify their allies in conciliar chancery offices against criticism for associating with "radicals." The late Saul Alinsky's philosophy of spreading revolution within the existing institutional structures of various organizations speaks volume about how the conciliar revolutionaries, influenced by Judeo-Masonry and Communism, if not outright plants of either or both, organized themselves to take over the levers of the Catholic Church and to promote a revolutionary agenda against the authentic patrimony of that same Catholic Church:

"There's another reason for working inside the system. Dostoevsky said that taking a new step is what people fear most. Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and chance the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution. To bring on this reformation requires that the organizer work inside the system, among not only the middle class but the 40 per cent of American families - more than seventy million people - whose income range from $5,000 to $10,000 a year [in 1971]. They cannot be dismissed by labeling them blue collar or hard hat. They will not continue to be relatively passive and slightly challenging. If we fail to communicate with them, if we don't encourage them to form alliances with us, they will move to the right. Maybe they will anyway, but let's not let it happen by default." Saul Alinsky

Relying heavily upon the well-documented research of Mrs. Stephanie Block on the Industrial Areas Foundation, an author named George Kocan explained in 2003 how Alinsky's groups have infiltrated the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism and enabled the election of pro-abortion Catholics to public office:

Thirty years of parades, demonstrations, side-walk counseling, civil disobedience, educational campaigns and annual letters from the Catholic bishops have not only failed to bring forth a Human Life Amendment but have left entrenched abortion as a right deeper in the culture.

Unfortunately, the evidence suggests that the Catholic bishops themselves, with a few exceptions, constitute the Secret Weapon of the Democrat Party which functions as the chief advocate and protector of the abortion industry. This conclusion resulted from an examination not of the Catholic bishops' pro-life rhetoric but of their spending.

The fact remains that the great bulk of the work and leadership in the cause of Life came from the Catholic laity. In general, the Bishops have done less than nothing. A few examples from the Chicago area serve to illustrate this point.

Joe Scheidler has been leading pro-life demonstrations, training pro-life activists and educating through public appearances since Roe v Wade in 1973. His work at abortion clinics cut deeply into the abortionists' expected revenues and undermined the ideology of sexual liberation which defined abortion as a political right. Joe Scheidler, a devout Catholic, husband and father, did such damage to the abortion industry that the National Organization of Women (NOW), an instrument of the Democrat Party, sued him in federal court, under RICO statutes, for racketeering. They demanded millions of dollars in judgment and imposed on him burdensome legal costs.

Joe Scheidler was, and is, doing God's work. Furthermore, he was doing the Church's work. Yet, in all that time, the Archdiocese of Chicago provided him with no financial help, even when NOW had put him under their legal guns.

Conrad Wojnar lived through a similar story. He quit his job as a social worker and dedicated his amazing organizing skills to helping women avoid abortion as a solution to personal problems. A devout Catholic husband and father, Wojnar put together The Women's' Center, a place where women with problem pregnancies can find sympathetic counseling, learn the facts about abortion, receive medical referrals and find material help. The Women's' Center provides such services in an atmosphere of Catholic piety and morals. Wojnar has even set aside space in the building for a chapel where priests come almost every day to offer Mass.

NOW also sued Wojnar for racketeering, threatening to take his home and leave him destitute. He too does God's work, which is supposed to be the Church's work. As with Scheidler's Pro-Life Action League, Wojnar's Women's' Center has no financial help from the Archdiocese of Chicago.

In another part of the Chicago area, AID for Women operates in a similar manner to that of The Women's' Center. The Archdiocese has likewise failed to help this organization, as it has failed to help other pro-life organizations like the Illinois Citizens for Life.

This ecclesiastical failure cannot be understood without reference to the political situation. The political fact relevant here is that the Republican Party has officially taken up the cause of Life. [A brief editorial note from Thomas Droleskey: Mr. Kocan is most mistaken here. The Republican Party's office-holders promote surgical abortion under cover of law in the "hard" cases and it funds the chemical assassination of children by means of domestic and international "family planning" programs. The Republican party also nominates scores of completely pro-abortion candidates around the country. The belief that the naturalist fraud that is any more "pro-life" than the naturalist fraud that is the Democrat Party is a self-serving myth that empirical evidence has show without any fear of contradiction is indeed the case.] It has become the home of many former Democrats who saw their party taken over by social revolutionaries, change-agents who have nothing but hostility for Catholic teaching and morality. What the Catholic bishops have done is place the interests of the Democrat Party over the lives of unborn children. They accomplished this by protecting Democrat candidates from defeat at the polls over abortion and other family issues. They enlarged Democrat power by funding organizations and organizers that advanced Democrat political fortunes. The Catholic bishops in collaboration with change agents and community activists, devised a scheme by which devout, church-going Catholics, including serious pro-lifers, mostly Republicans, would fund the agenda and protect the political power of the Democrats.

The Catholic bishops created a funding vehicle known as the Campaign for Human Development, later known as the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD). They collect money from the faithful in church the Sunday before Thanksgiving Day in November. The acronym should more properly stand for the Catholic Campaign to Help Democrats.

What makes this funding vehicle extraordinary is that it, in its by-laws, prohibits giving money to organizations that actually feed, clothe or house needy persons. The funds must go to organizations that foster "social change". Not coincidentally such organizations had already come into being, tailor-made, to carry out the mission that the CCHD had specified. These organizations follow a structure and philosophy established by the Industrial Area Foundation (IAF).

The IAF embodies the beliefs and practices developed by its founder, Saul Alinsky. In the course of time, he trained many organizers who have gone on to successful careers in politics and "social change" organizations. Perhaps the most famous of his proteges is the pro-abortion feminist Hillary Clinton. She actually wrote her senior thesis at Wellesley College on the radical politics of Saul Alinsky. She later became the First Lady when her Democrat husband Bill was elected President of the U.S. and then became the Democrat Senator from the State of New York. Alinsky trained other famous political figures, among them Cesar Chavez, who forced Mexican grape-pickers into his union in California, and Dick Morris, the Clinton's political consultant, who helped them win the White House.

Social agitation, confrontation, and personal attacks characterize Alinsky-style political organizing. It betrays a strong Marxist influence. This philosophy opposes fundamental Christian principles, because it divides persons into antagonistic groups, the "haves" and "have-not's". It follows an ideology of "class struggle", where one side is considered the enemy. The dehumanization of "the enemy" results in certain ethical consequences: persons lose their dignity as children of God and become means to an end: the end justifies the means. As Alinsky wrote, "Ethics are determined by whether one is losing or winning." He also wrote, "He who fears corruption, fears life."

Alinsky advocated and practiced what we now term, "the politics of personal destruction." The Democrats use this most effectively in destroying the reputations of their enemies, prominent political figures like Robert Bork, Clarence Thomas, and most recently, Rush Limbaugh. He wrote it down in his books, "Ridicule is man's most potent weapons" and "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it and polarize it."

Considering Alinsky's ethics, it should come as no surprise that he actually dedicated one of his books, "Rules for Radicals," to Lucifer. What could be more fitting? Lucifer carried out the ultimate rebellion. He too championed "social change", as he does today. He too rejects God's moral law, as Alinsky rejects the authority of the Catholic Church and the morality that it teaches. Alinsky opposes the very fundamentals for which the Pope and the bishops have always stood.

Whereas the Church teaches a dogmatic theology, Alinsky protests, "I detest and fear dogma." Whereas the Church defends eternal truths, Alinsky insists, "Truth is relative and changing." Whereas the Catholic bishops have publicly declared that abortion goes against God's law, Alinsky proclaims, "I have always believed that birth control and abortion are personal rights."

Alinsky's theory of rebellion has a history. He did not just make this stuff up. It goes back at least as far as the time before the French Revolution, where the socio-sexual revolutionaries sought to overthrow Throne and Altar. They specifically wanted to overthrow the moral order that protected marriage and children. Pat Buchanan pointed out that during, "the French Revolution, the Paris mob used the high altar at Notre Dame Cathedral to canonize the town tramp as their Goddess of Reason."

Their rejection of the moral order was so radical that many of them turned to Satanism as a religion. Good evidence exists that Karl Marx, himself, the founder of the Communist Party, was a Satanist. He wrote poems praising Satan.

His own son-in-law, Edward Eveling, gave lectures on, "The Wickedness of God" and himself wrote a poem in praise of Satan. Frederick Engels, Marx's partner in communist revolution, expressed the rebellious spirit thus, (Communism) "abolishes eternal truths, abolishes all religion, and all morality."

A colleague of Marx was a German poet, Heinrich Heine, who spoke well of Alinsky's role model, Lucifer, saying, "I called the Devil and he came." Marx's follower Mikhail Bakunin, another rebel, expressed similar sentiments, "Satan is the eternal rebel, the first freethinker and emancipator of worlds." Bakunin also wrote, "In the revolution we will have to awaken the Devil in the people, to stir up their basest passions."

A fellow socialist Pierre-Joseph Proudhon, also worshipped Satan and praised him, writing, "God is stupidity and cowardice...God is evil." And yet, amazingly, Catholic bishops bragged about their friendship with Saul Alinsky.

For thirty years the Bishops have been paying lip-service to the right to life, while putting Catholic money into Alinsky-style organizations like the IAF, using CCHD as a funding scheme. They gave IAF itself a million dollars. They gave a million to ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) where Hillary Clinton learned her trade. Not too long ago, Joseph Cardinal Bernardin gave a million to fund the Chicago Metropolitan Sponsors (CMS) (while shutting down parochial schools) so that it could hire IAF to organize and train persons to staff what eventually became known as United Power for Action and Justice (UPAJ). When the Cardinal was criticized for giving so much Catholic money to this group, he answered that the money did not really belonging to the Church. Someone gave it to him for the purpose of funding CMS. No one in authority has yet pointed out that donating money in such a manner constitutes the essence of money-laundering.

This child of CMS, UPAJ, is an effort to induce Lutheran, Baptist, Episcopalian, Jewish and Moslem Republicans living in Chicago suburbs to funnel money, just as the Catholics do, into the organizing projects of the Democrat Party. It is of course no coincidence that the traditional allies (Perhaps "agencies" is a better word.) of the Democrat Party, the labor unions, energetically sponsored the CMS. These include the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and the Illinois Education Association (IEA).

AFSCME is one of the organizers of a march on Washington being planned for spring 2004 in defense of abortion "rights." Other organizers are NARAL, NOW, and Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

The IEA is affiliated with the National Education Association, a reliable organ of the Democrat Party and an aggressive proponent of abortion, feminism, homosexuality and other evils long denounced by Catholic tradition.

In California, Catholic Charities and CCHD-funded IAF organizations stole the election of Republican Congressman Robert Dornan, by means of documented immigration and election fraud. Hundreds of invalidly naturalized persons were driven from getting their citizenship papers directly to the polling places.

Catholic money helped steal an election away from a devout Catholic and patriotic man, with a perfect voting record on the right to life and other moral issues, on behalf of a woman with an anti-life and anti-family Democrat agenda, Loretta Sanchez, a Clintonite radical with campaign support from the usual allies of the Democrat Party: the NOW, NARAL (National Abortion Rights Action League), the homosexual advocacy group Human Rights Campaign and other such groups.

The Illinois Leader, an internet newspaper (www.illinoisleader.com) found that 75% of the Catholic priests in the Chicago Archdiocese have officially registered as Democrats. Thus they ally themselves with the party of "social change", the party of permanent revolution, the party of abortionists, homosexuals, pornographers, adulterers, fornicators and perjurers.

According to Block, "The Catholic members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, of which there are well over a hundred, cast more votes in favor of abortion than not. In fact, Catholic politicians - whose Church teaches the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception - have demonstrated a worse voting record on life issues than their Presbyterian and Methodist counterparts."

Francis Cardinal George recently called for changes in U.S. immigration policy that dovetail with Democrat political objectives and echo the work of IAF operatives in defeating the election of Bob Dornan in California. These include the legalization of undocumented residents and the discharge of the U.S. "blockade" at our borders.

This latest pronouncement from George shows how he and other Catholic bishops are working to advance the Democrat Party. Immigrants vote for Democrats not Republicans. Liberalization of immigration laws sits high on the Democrat agenda.

George also failed to stop the pro-abortion candidate for the Democrat Party's Presidential nomination Al Sharpton from speaking under Archdiocesan auspices at St. Sabina's parish, where the Fr. Michael Pfleger serves as Pastor.

Many of the Chicago area priests hold membership in another Alinsky-inspired organization, Call to Action. It not only follows the organizational principles Alinsky developed but also embraces his revolutionary world view, taking the Democrat ideology of moral revisionism into the very heart of the Catholic Church.

Do the Catholic bishops oppose CTA or prohibit it in any way from operating in their dioceses? Not at all. CTA has complete freedom to organize and promote its agenda of dissent which seeks to destroy the papacy and the Church hierarchy, to win acceptance for divorce, abortion, contraception, homosexuality, priestesses, liturgical abuses, a married clergy, and the abolition of property rights. Bishops have actually appointed CTA dissenters as pastors in their parishes.

Catholic bishops gave a million dollars to organizations whose world view excludes everything Catholic, to ACORN, to IAF, to CMF but not a cent to struggling Catholic operations like Joe Schiedler's Pro-life Action League or Conrad Wojnar's Women's' Center. They withhold support to the cause of life and the family because that would undermine Democrat power and the revolutionary ideology which drives it.

Stephanie Block put it best, "This year, when the collection plate comes around, remember that you can sabotage Church teaching with a flick of your wrist. You can shoot it down by paying for organizations to fight for health clinics that dispense contraceptives and make abortion referrals. You can shoot it down by paying for organizing that supports pro-abortion politicians. You can shoot it down by paying for organizing that trains Catholics to dissent. Just don't be surprised by the blood on your hands." Catholic Citizens

With all due respect to our friend Mrs. Block, who accepts the legitimacy of the conciliar officials as she exposes their misdeeds with her meticulous, irrefutable research, no, the way to deal with "Catholic" Charities and the "Catholic" Campaign for Human Development is to refuse to have anything to do with the counterfeit church of conciliarism that helps to fund such programs and whose essential social philosophy, especially at the "grassroots" level of individual chancery offices and national episcopal conferences, is identical to that of Saul Alinsky and the scores of Industrial Areas Foundations that he helped to spawn and continue to spread to this very day. One cannot fund the work of apostates each Sunday if one seeks the refuge provided by true bishops and true priests in the Catholic catacombs

Injustice Takes Place, Aided and Abetted by the Alleged Merchants of Justice and Peace in the Conciliar Structures and their Alinsky Friends

The case of former United States Representative Robert K. Dornan is quite instructive here. The Immigration and Naturalization Service conducted an investigation of the 1996 general election between Dornan and Sanchez-Brixey and discovered that over 4,000 voters voted without proper documentation. That was not enough, however, for investigators working for the United States House of Representatives, to which Dornan had appealed his "loss" to Sanchez on the grounds of election fraud, because the "fix," was in, as an article in The American Spectator reveals:

A recap, in case you're interested in that long-ago Republican surrender: If you can lay your hands on a recording or a transcript of Michael Reagan's radio show from the night of and the day after the November 1996 elections, you'll hear Reagan interviewing Dornan. Dornan told Reagan he'd been assured by the then-congressional leaders that they'd get to the bottom of the illegal voting that had put Sanchez Brixey in Dornan's rightful seat, and that they'd give Dornan whatever support he needed. After this phone-in interview ended, Reagan resignedly informed the listeners that he himself had spoken to the congressional leaders, who'd confided to Reagan they had no intention of a serious investigation into Sanchez Brixey's illegal "win," and confirming that they had been outright lying to Dornan. For one thing, she was a "double-whammy mammy" -- both Hispanic and female, and the Republicans had no ... uh, "stomach" for refuting false cries they were racist and sexist. Second, then-House Majority Leader Newt Gingrich was attempting to craft a relationship of comity with Bill Clinton, and Dornan had been one of Clinton's fieriest critics. The American Spectator

A National Review article from 1997 provides more details into the way in which Bob Dornan's 1996 election was stolen from him with the help of an Alinsky-based organization that had ties to "Catholic" Charities of the Diocese of Orange and received funding from the "Catholic" Campaign for Human Development:

Ousted Republican Congressman Robert Dornan claims, with considerable justification, that his narrow loss in the Nov 96 election to Loretta Sanchez is due to ballots cast by ineligible voters. The election fraud investigation could lead to a new election in the Orange County, CA district.

A MID January ad in the Washington Blade, a paper for the capital's homosexual community, announced the "Red Ribbon Inaugural Gala," organized by AIDS lobbyist Tom Sheridan. The aim: to aid Loretta Sanchez, the new Democratic congresswoman from Orange County, whose social-issue liberalism gets gay activists cheering almost as robustly as they boo the man she upset on November 5.

The ad described the Red Ribbon affair as a "benefit for Loretta's legal defense against Bob Dornan's continued challenge to overturn his defeat. Let's send him home once and for all."

Five weeks later, that goal of Dornan's foes looks increasingly elusive. Attorneys and investigators working with the ousted nine-term congressman continue to pile up evidence of fraud in an election decided by fewer than one thousand votes. Try as some of them might, journalists in a competitive, two-newspaper county haven't been able to ignore the smell of something rotten in the ballot results. And the Orange County district attorney is on the case.

In short, Miss Sanchez might have need of a few more fundraisers before it's all over -- and even then, there's a real chance that she, not Dornan, could be the one sent "home once and for all."

Dornan's people have compiled a knapsack full of what you might call standard-issue irregularities, the kind that made Cook County famous, and that California's lax election rules, which don't require identification from would-be voters, seem to invite in abundance. Dornan points, for instance, to at least 38 double voters, 128 absentee ballots turned in illegally, and more than 900 ballots for which there are no corresponding names on the county registrar's computer tape which is supposed to indicate who voted. Does that numbers gap reflect clerical error -- or ballot-box stuffing? Or a bit of both?

Most investigation so far has focused on noncitizens allegedly recruited to the polls by the Latino advocacy group Hermandad Mexicana Nacional, which is a sub-contractor providing citizenship classes for the Immigration and Naturalization Service.

The law says you must be a citizen to register to vote, a fact declared prominently, and repeatedly, on registration forms in California. Yet the Los Angeles Times reported on February 8 that 600 resident aliens were signed up to vote through the efforts of Hermandad, and that 407 of those people went on to cast ballots on November 5.

In addition, the paper found 105 apparently illegal aliens who also voted after registering through Hermandad.

In an affidavit produced to get a warrant to search Hermandad's Santa Ana offices, the D.A. quotes five unnamed informants, all noncitizens who were registered to vote by Hermandad. Two of them say that every person who completed an INS interview at Hermandad's headquarters was then registered to vote by Hermandad employees, before any of these registrants had become a citizen.

If that is true, it could mean hundreds or thousands more illegal votes, because as many as 12,000 people went through Hermandad classes in the months prior to the election.

The investigators working on behalf of Dornan's election challenge are frustrated that the INS won't release the citizenship status of voters, or, apparently, won't do any investigating on its own. "If the INS would be open and forthright enough to give us this data, we could get this investigation over with in a couple of days," attorney Michael Schroeder, who heads Dornan's effort, told me in early February.

On Valentine's Day, Schroeder's wish was partially fulfilled -- but not courtesy of INS officialdom. Rather, he was visited on the quiet by an INS agent who angrily complained that the agency acquiesced in illegal voting. The whistleblower brought thousands of names of people who had been enrolled in citizenship classes in Dornan's district -- many of whom hadn't become citizens by November 5. Hermandad was not the only group giving citizenship classes under INS contract. And, the whistleblower claims, Hermandad wasn't the only organization that registered noncitizens.

The Dornan team is now cross-checking the names delivered by this INS Deep Throat against the voter-registration rolls. The number of verifiably illegal votes cast in the 46th district seems certain to climb.

One of the most astute -- and cautious -- members of the Dornan investigative squad has said to me, without qualification, "We've won." He cites four developments that he believes will eventually guarantee that a new election will be called.

First, he sees indications that the district attorney's office isn't conducting a narrow inquiry, but is casting its net beyond Hermandad to other immigrant-activist groups that might have registered people illegally.

Second, the House Oversight Committee seems poised to act aggressively on Dornan's election challenge. Chairman Bill Thomas personally signed a subpoena ordering the D.A.'s office to share with the panel all data it got from its January 14 search of Hermandad's headquarters.

Third, Dornan's people are now empowered to issue their own subpoenas as part of the election-challenge process. And last, there is the stealthy assistance they're getting from INS staffers who allege that their agency was turned into a tool for the Democratic election machine.

On February 24, a subcommittee of Rep. Thomas's oversight panel is due to make an initial decision on how to handle the Dornan case. At some point it could conduct a trial-like hearing in Orange County, calling witnesses and sifting evidence, and present its judgment to the full committee, and ultimately, the full House.

Meanwhile, another House panel -- the Government Reform and Oversight Committee, chaired by Dan Burton of Indiana -- might pay a visit of its own to Orange County. Among its concerns: the millions in federal dollars showered on Hermandad and other immigrant-rights groups that have 501(c)3 tax-exempt status but nevertheless push an openly partisan agenda. (Hermandad's newspaper, for instance, carried endorsements of Clinton and Sanchez.)

Did Loretta Sanchez know anything about noncitizens registering and voting? "I want to see her asked that question under oath by one or more House committees," a local GOP congressman told me.

Some observers doubt that she was in the loop. But her record isn't hound's-tooth clean. The Los Angeles Times, no friend of Dornan, stayed neutral in the November congressional election. It declined to endorse Sanchez because she showed "questionable judgment" in becoming a business associate with Howard O. Kieffer, a Democratic activist sentenced in 1989 to five years in prison for swindling the Federal Government out of more than $200,000. Sanchez even used his office as her campaign headquarters in last March's primary.

The potency of Dornan's challenge can be gauged by the fact that a counter-offensive against investigators has begun. Hermandad supporters have picketed the Los Angles Times each time it has run stories exposing noncitizen voting. And the group's attorney accused the D.A.'s office of "strong-arm" tactics for seizing citizenship-class lists when the search-warrant was served on the group's offices.

Strong-arming? Hermandad might know a thing or two about that concept. Two of the confidential informants quoted in the D.A.'s affidavit asked to have their names withheld out of fear for their safety, according to the affidavit. One of them said, "Hermandad Mexican Nacional is very powerful and would harm [me] if it was known [I] was cooperating with law enforcement."

The affidavit also said Hermandad officials contacted individuals who had signed up to vote, "advising them not to cooperate with anyone who comes to their home asking questions about their citizenship."

There is much hyperventilating from Hermandad sympathizers about their "civil rights" being under siege.

But whose freedoms are really subverted when invalid ballots pollute the system? Surely not the polluters'.

"Hermandad is endeavoring to transmute the First Amendment into a sword to repulse legitimate criminal investigations and the prosecution of those who commit criminal acts," argued Deputy District Attorney E. Thomas Dunn Jr., in response to Hermandad's claim that the search of its offices violated constitutional protections.

Whatever else the Dornan challenge accomplishes, it will perform a service if it reminds us of the genuine civil-rights interest that attends the ballot box: the right of legitimate voters, of all colors, not to have their ballots diluted by the introduction of phony votes.

Bob Dornan never tires of recounting how he participated in the 1963 civil-rights march on Washington. Thirty-four years later, in challenging fraudulent voting, he is essentially singing another chorus of "We shall overcome."

A February 4, 1998, article by David Stout in The New York Times indicates that the investigation by the Ethics Committee of the United States House of Representatives did indeed whitewash the matter of election fraud in the Dornan-Sanchez Brixey race in 1996, although it did find evidence of such fraud, being unable to conclude that there was enough fraud to have changed the results of the election:

Her [Representative Sanchez Brixey's] joy notwithstanding, the task force's decision was not that clear-cut. Its chairman, Representative Vernon J. Ehlers, Republican of Michigan, said tonight that ''an extremely thorough examination'' had shown there was considerable fraud, but that task force members ''could not conclusively prove there were enough illegal votes to vacate the seat or overturn the election.''

Other members of the panel were Representatives Bob Ney, Republican of Ohio, and Steny Hoyer, Democrat of Maryland.

Mr. Dornan, in a statement issued by his lawyer, Michael J. Schroeder, chairman of the California Republican Party, said: ''While I am disappointed that the committee will not call for a special election, nonetheless it is clear that the committee findings vindicated what I have stated all along, which is that the citizens of the 46th Congressional District were victimized by systematic, widespread voter fraud,''Mr. Schroeder said Mr. Dornan had a month until the filing deadline to decide whether to challenge Ms. Sanchez in November.

The task force will give its recommendation to the full Committee on House Oversight on Wednesday. The committee is virtually certain to go along with the task force and ask that the House drop the matter.

Mr. Ehlers said that his panel had found ''substantial voter fraud in the 46th District,'' but that there was no way to know exactly how many votes were illegally cast.

Mr. Dornan had argued unsuccessfully that the election in the 46th was replete with fraud, including voting by noncitizens. The charges infuriated many Hispanic people and helped focus a spotlight on Ms. Sanchez.

A California grand jury investigated the 1996 contest but found insufficient evidence to return indictments.

The nexus linking "Catholic" Charities and "Catholic" Campaign for Human Development with Hermandad Mexicana Nacional was much reported in the wake of the Dornan-Sanchez Brixey race of 1996. Mrs. Block sent the following information that she found in an article written by The Wanderer's Paul Likoudis. Here is part of her note containing that information.

The 5-8-97 Wanderer published an article by Paul Likoudis, "Catholic Charities, Parishes at Hub of Vote Fraud Schemes."  He writes that CC "claims to have distributed 16,000 voter registration forms to groups throughout Orange County and some officials boasted 'that they turned the election.'""

"We have a witness who says he heard a Catholic Charities worker boasting to Auxiliary Bishop Michael Driscoll [of Orange, CA] that they 'turned the election in the 46th district' -- that's my district, and we have further evidence that Catholic Charities passed out voter registrations that contained perjured statements."

Among the source documents I have in my files are papers - I think obtained by Dornan during the legal disclosure process -- that show CC of Santa Ana submitting and then resubmitting the same names (as new voter registrants gathered during the Active Citizenship Campaign) on two consecutive days.

Mrs. Stephanie Block also reports that various Alinsky-style groups are organizing most assiduously in advance of the 2008 elections. They are more cautious now, Mrs. Block reports, but are still intent on registering voters to advance the political agenda favored by the quasi-Marxists in the offices of "Catholic Charities and "Catholic" Campaign for Human Development. A relatively new Alinsky-style group, Faith in Public Life, has formed to advance the Judeo-Masonic and Marxist revolutionary agendas in behalf of naturalism, stating as its purposes as follows:

We have faith in public life. In other words, we have faith in the positive and significant role that faith should play in public life, and we have faith that public life will support justice and the common good. We believe the positive role for faith in public life is fulfilled when: (1) religious voices for justice and the common good impact public discourse and policies; and (2) those who use religion as a tool of division and exclusion do not dominate public debate. We also believe faithful contributions to public life should not, and need not, violate America’s central tenet of separation of church and state.

Mrs. Block wrote in the February, 2007, issue of Los Pequenos that many of the organizations affiliated with the Faith in Public Life network are the Alinsky-style organizations that "receive millions of dollars annually from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development." Having leaned the lessons from the Dornan-Sanchez Brixey race eleven years ago, these organizations are being much more careful about the registration of "undocumented" persons.

The concern over "immigrant rights" that permeates the bureaucratic apparatuses of the counterfeit church of conciliarism. It highlights "Bishop" Soto's aforementioned April, 2007, "Peace and Justice" newsletter:

On Friday, March 30, at La Purísima Church, we ended the Hunger for Justice Campaign with a simple prayer service and a delightful meal at the famous La Purísima fish fry. While the number of people who attended was small, we gathered in prayer around boxes and baskets filled with over 12,000 pledge cards representing the many people across the Diocese of Orange who had pledge to fast and had given their names to communicate their hunger for a comprehensive immigration reform to the members of the Orange County Congressional delegation.

Besides our own efforts in the Diocese of Orange, many of our sister dioceses in California as well as the Archdiocese of Chicago had expressed an interest in participating in the Campaign. I was advised by a colleague in San Francisco that over 70,000 signatures were collected by our brothers and sisters throughout California.

I am very grateful for the admirably heroic efforts to promote this campaign in over half of the parishes in our Diocese. I also know that a good number of immigrants were very appreciative of these gestures of solidarity offered by so many. On the Friday evening at La Purísima a young woman from Oaxaca with her two daughters quietly attended the prayer service.

She came because she has a hunger for immigration reform and sought the comfort of praying with those who shared that hunger with her. Her sincere, heartfelt words of thanks given to me are intended for all of us who gave her a taste of hope as together we now enter this rich season of Easter.

We will rely on the Spirit of the risen Christ to enliven the many seeds we have planted during this campaign as we continue to work for the passage of a just, comprehensive immigration reform bill this year.

I also want to call your attention to a bill in the California Assembly, AB 374, the Assisted Suicide Bill. The bill was defeated last year. It has been brought back by its authors during this current session. While the members of OC Assembly delegation in Sacramento have indicated that they will vote against it, it is important for us to communicate to them our opposition to this bill. It is bad medicine for California. For further details please consult the website of the California Catholic Conference.

The Destruction of Legitimate National Sovereignty to Advance the Social Power of Civil and Ecclesiastical Revolutionaries

The leftists who populate the bureaucratic machinery of the counterfeit church of conciliarism have made "immigration reform" a major part of their "social justice" agenda? What is "immigration reform" to these people? It's very simple: completely open borders and instantaneous citizenship for those who cross them from other countries, replete with immediate cradle-to-the-grave social services provided by taxpayer-funded programs. This suits the agenda of the Democrat Party, which has always sought to exploit immigrants to the United States of America in order to make them dependent upon its or the state's "largesse" and thus reliable voters who can be counted to "vote" the right way, which means in our own day voting for candidates who support abortion and perversion, so as to increase and further solidify the statists' hold on civil power. "Immigration reform" also suits the agenda of many career politicians in the Republican Party, men and women who depend upon the contributions of the corporate executives who profit from the exploitation of the labor illegal immigrants, which is why "conservatives" from Ronald Reagan to George W. Bush have always done the bidding of the corporate executives in this regard.

Nowhere in the discussion of "immigration reform" from conciliar officials such as "Bishop" Jaime Soto is there any recognition that a country has the Natural Law right to control its borders. This a fundamental matter of national sovereignty. No one has the right to break the legitimate laws of a nation designed to protect its borders. While those who cross borders illegally must be treated with dignity and respect, such people are not entitled to anything other than a fair hearing before they are returned to the country from which they came, truly extenuating circumstances, such as legitimate political persecution or some dire economic necessity, notwithstanding. The conciliar "bishops" of the United States of America would rather be shot by a firing squad than to admit these basic principles of the Natural Law. They have been active agents in undermining the legitimate sovereignty of the United States of America, right along with the corporations that encourage illegal immigration so as to make even more profits more readily than they are doing at the present time.

Father Denis Fahey pointed out in his writing that one of the chief goals of Zionism and Judeo-Masonry and Communism is to break down all legitimate national distinctions in order to foster what we now understand to be a system of one-world governance, that is, a system where a variety of supranational organizations control various aspects of public policy that were once controlled by sovereign nations. This is what has happened in Europe as the European Economic Community, which had its origins as the European Coal and Steel Community in 1951, a supranational entity that issues passports and a common currency, the Euro, for its twenty-seven member states. The common currency, the Euro, has given extraordinary powers to the international banking community, which funds pro-death causes to the hilt.

The sovereignty of the United States of America has been eroded progressively since the end of World War II by a variety of trade and security agreements, including the North American Free Trade Agreement, which has been just as much of a disaster as Patrick J. Buchanan predicted in 1992 when he was running for the Republican Party presidential nomination against then President George Herbert Walker Bush. President George Walker Bush, who is not at all concerned about the border security of the United States of America, is moving this country in the direction of a North American Union, whether in name or by incremental agreements, replete quite possibly with its own common currency, the Amero, laughing off a question about the matter at a joint press conference with Mexican President Felipe Calderon and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper a few months ago. There is nothing that pleases the enemies of legitimate national sovereignty than the effective elimination of borders.

Immigration as a Tool of Naturalism Against the Social Reign of Christ the King

Indeed, one of the reasons, among so very many others, that the Judeo-Masonic forces of organized naturalism want to encourage easy legal immigration and to wink at illegal immigration in order to so "diversify" an already legally positivistic and culturally pluralistic nation here in the United States of America as to make any public mention of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ absolutely unthinkable. The Mrs. Field's brand of cookies chain has announced that it will no longer recognize Christmas in its stores in order not to "offend" people. Who would be offended? Well, Jews, Mohammedans, Buddhists, Hindus, atheists, Unitarians and overt worshipers of the adversary. This makes it all the more possible to silence the over sixty million poorly-formed Catholics in the United States of America who are still in the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism and who, therefore, accept quite readily the whole notion of the condemned propositions of the "separation of Church and State" and of "religious liberty," most of whom are perfectly content to view what they think is the Catholic Church through the eyes of the world rather than viewing the world through the eyes of the true Faith and praying and working for the restoration of the Social Reign of Christ the King and of Mary our Immaculate Queen.

The Continuing Effects of the Americanist Heresy

"Bishop" Jaime Soto's eyes would glaze over, most likely, if these truths were presented to him. A Catholic nation? Restoring the Catholic America that the ancestors of most of the illegal immigrants to this nation once knew and prospered under unto their eternal salvation? A Catholic States of America? The Social Reign of Christ the King? Such concepts have been flushed down the Orwellian memory hole and replaced with the very condemned principles of the French Revolution that helped to launch the Sillon that was, in turn, condemned in no uncertain terms by Pope Saint Pius X in Notre Charge Apostolique, August 15, 1910. Building on the religious indifferentism of Article VI, Section 3 (which forbids a "religious test" for the holding of public office, something that Americanist Catholics hail as a "protection" of their "rights" without realizing that this provision was meant to apply equally to atheists or out-and-out Christophobes) and of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, the latter day social and ecclesiastical revolutionaries have combined their forces in many and sundry ways to"mobilize" immigrants, both legal and illegal, into becoming a political force for their quest to maintain and increase their own power and control over our daily lives.

Most Catholics, no matter where they fall along the ecclesiastical divides, do not realize that what is considered by corporate America to be a necessity, immigrant labor, has only been made a "necessity" as a result of contraception and abortion. Nearly fifty million innocent preborn human beings have been put to death in this country alone by means of surgical abortion since 1967, hundreds of millions more have been killed by means of chemical abortifacients. What would the United States of America look like had these murdered children been permitted to be born? You won't hear Roger Mahony or Tod Brown or Jaime Soto raising this reality. The wave of immigration, both legal and illegal, makes it possible for them to advance the conciliarist agenda of the "inculturation of the Gospel" into the context of the "offering" of the Protestant and Masonic Novus Ordo service just as much as it helps to advance their own leftist political agenda through the ballot box that they promote financially by means of "Catholic" Charities and "Catholic" Campaign for Human Development.

Truth be told, however, the leftist political agenda pursued by the conciliar "bishops" is nothing new. Most, although certainly far from all. American bishops in the 130 years or so (perhaps a little longer in parts of the Northeast), have been enablers of the Democrat Party, apologizing for its candidates almost at every turn no matter how inimical they were to the interests of the Catholic Faith. The Democrat Party was the party that "stood up for" the rights of the persecuted Catholic immigrants who came here in the Nineteenth Century. Naturally, the Democrat Party, which was opposed from 1856 onward by the equally Masonic and cleverly anti-Catholic White Anglo Saxon Protestant Republican Party, wanted to exploit the votes of immigrants in the Nineteenth Century just as much as it wants to do so today. This was lost on most American bishops and priests and laity in the Nineteenth Century, which is why James Cardinal Gibbons, the longtime Americanist Archbishop of Baltimore, Maryland, groveled at the feet of President Thomas Woodrow Wilson during World War I even though Wilson had refused in 1916 to intervene to help save the lives of Catholics who were being killed by the Masonic revolutionaries in Our Lady's beloved country, Mexico:

"Wilson replied [to a Father Kelley, who was a representative of James Cardinal Gibbons, the Archbishop of Baltimore, for whom Wilson had such contempt that he addressed him as Mister Gibbons]: 'I have no doubt but that the terrible things you mention have happened during the Mexican revolution. But terrible things happened also during the French revolution, perhaps more terrible things than have happened in Mexico. Nevertheless, out of that French revolution came the liberal ideas that have dominated in so many countries, including our own. I hope that out of the bloodletting in Mexico some such good yet may come.'

"Having thus instructed his caller in the benefits which must perforce accrue to mankind out of the systematic robbery, murder, torture and rape of people holding a proscribed religious conviction, the professor of politics [Wilson] suggested that Father Kelley visit Secretary of State Williams Jennings Bryan, who expressed his deepest sympathy. Obviously, the Wilson administration was committed to supporting the revolutionaries (Robert Leckie, Catholic and American, p. 274).

The American bishops, Francis Cardinal Spellman, the Archbishop of New York from 1938 to 1967, groveled at the feet of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and apologized for him at every turn, going so far as to silence Father Charles Coughlin for his daring to criticize Roosevelt's New Deal and for explaining that it was the ancient Talmudic enemies of the Cross of the Divine Redeemer that were responsible for the banking and financial crises of the moment. Spellman was so bold near the end of his life that his words alone signaled to Catholic voters in Puerto Rico that they could vote with impunity against a measure favored by the Puerto Rican bishops against birth control:

That Cardinal Spellman was more than willing and able to compromise Catholic moral teaching when it suited him politically was amply demonstrated by the Puerto Rican birth control debacle of 1960.

In the mid-1930s, Cardinal Hayes effectively squashed all attempts by the Roosevelt Administration to impose a Malthusian program of population limitation on Puerto Rico. Hayes, a master of "punishment politics," told FDR either to withdraw the birth control initiative his administration had started on the island or face the loss of Catholic vote in the upcoming election. Roosevelt took Hayes' warning to heart and ordered that the Comstock Law be enforced in the [Territory] of Puerto Rico [which became a Commonwealth after World War II]. On September 15, 1936, the "Grand Experiment" was put on hold.

After Hayes' death in 1938, the American hierarchy, including the Powerhouse in New York, began to take a more lenient position toward federal and private population control initiatives on the island, especially under the Eisenhower Administration from 1953 to 1961.

With the repeal of the Comstock Law, and the massive influx of millions of U.S. dollars from the American-based Gamble, Rockefeller, McCormick and Ford Foundations, together with the dollar-hungry pharmaceutical industry, the Church in Puerto Rico braced itself for a major anti-life assault. The Puerto Rican bishops also had to contend with the loss of the traditional legal and political support they had come to expect form the American hierarchy.

In 1960, the Puerto Rico hierarchy decided to make one last concerted effort to drive the Sangerite forces from the island. The Catholic resistance was lead by two American Bishops--James F. Davis of San Juan and James E. McManus of Ponce. The Catholic Church in Puerto Rico helped to organize a national political party--the Christian Action Party (CAP). The new political front was composed primarily of Catholic laymen and its platform included opposition to existing permissive legislation on birth control and sterilization.

When increasing numbers of CAP flags began to fly from the rooftops of Puerto Rico's Catholic homes, the leaders of the opposition parties, who favored turning Puerto Rico into an international Sangerite playground for massive U.S.-based contraceptive/abortifacient/sterilization experimental programs, became increasingly concerned for their own political futures. Then unexpected help arrived in the unlikely person of His Eminence Francis Cardinal Spellman of New York.

One month before the hotly contested national election, Spellman arrived in Puerto Rico ostensibly to preside over two formal Church functions. While on the island, Spellman agreed to meet with CAP's major political rival, Governor Luis Munoz Marin, leader of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP) and a supporter of federal population control programs for Puerto Rico.

In an interview that followed his meeting with Munoz, Spellman, known for years as FDR's errand boy with a miter, claimed that politics were outside his purview. The cardinal's statement was interpreted by the press as an indictment of the partisan politics of Bishops Davis and McManus. To underscore his message, as soon as Spellman returned to the States he made a public statement in opposition to the latest directives of the Puerto Rico bishops prohibiting Catholics from voting for Munoz and his anti-life PDP cohorts. Catholic voters in Puerto Rico should vote their conscience without the threat of Church penalties, Spellman said.

Boston's Cardinal Cushing, John F. Kennedy's "political godfather," joined Spellman in expressed "feigned horror" at the thought of ecclesiastical authority attempting to dictate political voting. "This has never been a part of our history, and I pray God that it will never be!" said Cushing. Cushing's main concern was not the Puerto Rican people. His main worry was that the flack caused by the Puerto Rican birth control affair might overflow into the upcoming presidential campaign and hurt John Kennedy's bid for the White House.

The national election turned out to be a political disaster for CAP. Munoz and the PDP won by a landslide. Bishop Davis was forced to end the tragic state of confusion among the Catholic laity by declaring just before the election that no penalties would be imposed on those who voted for PDP.

Two years later, with the knowledge and approval of the American hierarchy and the Holy See, the Puerto Rican hierarchy was pressured into singing a secret concordat of "non-interference" in government-sponsored birth control programs--a sop being that the programs would now include instruction in the "rhythm method." While insisting on their right to hold and express legitimate opposition to such programs, the Puerto Rican bishops promised they would "never impose their own moral doctrines upon individuals who do not accept the Catholic teaching."

When the Sangerite storm hit the mainland in the late 1960s, AmChurch would echo this same theme song, opening the floodgates to a multi-billion dollar federal-life-prevention (and destruction) program. (Randy Engel, The Rite of Sodomy, pp. 647-649)

The "house priest" of the Kennedy clan, Richard Cardinal Cushing, the Archbishop of Boston from 1944 to 1970, who boasted a short while before he died that he had never made a single convert in his entire priesthood--and who said of Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy's pending marriage in 1968 to the divorced tycoon Aristotle Onassis that "this woman is entitled to as much happiness as she can get," was so bold as to tell Catholic legislators in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that they could vote their "conscience" on a bill, introduced by one State Senator Michael S. Dukakis, mind you, that sought to legalize the sale of contraceptives to married couples:

Early in the summer of 1965, the Massachusetts legislature took up a proposal to repeal the state's Birth Control law, which barred the use of contraceptives. . . . In a state where Catholics constituted a voting majority, and dominated the legislature, the prospects for repeal appeared remote. Then on June 22, Cardinal Cushing appeared on a local radio program, 'An Afternoon with Haywood Vincent,' and effectively scuttled the opposition. Cardinal Cushing announced: 'My position in this matter is that birth control in accordance with artificial means is immoral, and not permissible. But this is Catholic teaching. I am also convinced that I should not impose my position upon those of other faiths'. Warming to the subject, the cardinal told his radio audience that 'I could not in conscience approve the legislation' that had been proposed. However, he quickly added, 'I will make no effort to impose my opinion upon others.' So there it was: the 'personally opposed' argument, in fully developed form, enunciated by a Prince of the Church nearly 40 years ago! Notice how the unvarying teaching of the Catholic Church, which condemned artificial contraception as an offense against natural law, is reduced here to a matter of the cardinal's personal belief. And notice how he makes no effort to persuade legislators with the force of his arguments; any such effort is condemned in advance as a bid to 'impose' his opinion. Cardinal Cushing conceded that in the past, Catholic leaders had opposed any effort to alter the Birth Control law. 'But my thinking has changed on that matter,' he reported, 'for the simple reason that I do not see where I have an obligation to impose my religious beliefs on people who just do not accept the same faith as I do'. . . . Before the end of his fateful radio broadcast, Cardinal Cushing gave his advice to the Catholic members of the Massachusetts legislature: 'If your constituents want this legislation, vote for it. You represent them. You don't represent the Catholic Church.' Dozens of Catholic legislators did vote for the bill, and the Birth Control law was abolished. Perhaps more important in the long run, the 'personally opposed' politician had his rationale."

Yes, you see, the heresy of Americanism helped to pave the way for the triumph of conciliarism, which has fed off of Americanism, especially as it relates to "religious liberty" and the "separation of Church and State," and help to "empower" what has become the United States Conference of "Catholic" Bishops into expanding its role as an agent of revolutionary change in society that would coincide with the revolutionary changes in doctrine and worship brought about by the "Second" Vatican Council and its aftermath. "Bishop" Jaime Soto is just the result of a logical progression of forces over the course of time that long antedated conciliarism and have institutionalized themselves as "normative" in the life of ordinary Catholics in the United States of America and around the world.

No Worse Than Others, Which is Preicsely the Point

"Bishop" Jaime Soto is probably no more worse than any of the other conciliar bishops in the State of California. He has spoken regularly at the nefarious Los Angeles Religious Education Conference, which is held annually each February or March at the Anaheim Convention Center on Katella Boulevard near Masonryland amusement park, and features the most profane exhibitions of the Novus Ordo service imaginable and has been host to speakers, such as Father Richard Rohr (see: Huge Los Angeles Religious Ed. Congress Again Features Gay-Promoting Speakers), who have promoted every abomination imaginable. Has "Bishop" Soto ever criticized one of those speakers who have deviated from Catholic teaching on matters, say, pertaining to the Sixth and Ninth Commandments or on the very nature of dogmatic truth or of personal conscience?

Yes, the tone-deaf pianist in Rome just lets his field commanders promote their lieutenants to continue the work of the revolution, absolutely oblivious--and I mean absolutely oblivious--to the harm being done to souls--and to entire nations (!)--in the process. For anyone to assert that Joseph Ratzinger is traditionally-minded is absurd. Yes, he has a greater sympathy for some aspects of liturgical ceremony than his immediate "predecessors" as antipopes. He is also a firm supporter of the conciliar revolution and blasphemes God on a regular basis, including his calling Mount Hiei in Japan "sacred" because it was the first place where the Tendei sect of Buddhism had gotten a stronghold. No one who can utter such a profanity against the Blessed Trinity is thinking as a Catholic. He is thinking as a member of a One World Ecumenical Church who has not a blessed clue about how much God hates false religions and how he wants them eradicated from the face of the earth by seeking the unconditional conversion of their adherents to the Catholic Church, outside of which there is no salvation. Such praise for a false religion spits on God the Holy Ghost, Who inspired King David to write:

For all the gods of the Gentiles are devils: but the Lord made the heavens. (Psalm 95:5)

No One Who Blasphemes God Repeatedly is a Friend of His Catholic Faith

A reader contacted me within the past few days to say that he had heard a report that some ultra-revolutionaries within the conciliar structures are so upset over the issuance of Summorum Pontificum that they have been threatening the life of Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI. While such threats are to be deplored and those responsible for them should be apprehended and charged with appropriate crimes, the existence of such a threat does not prove that Joseph Ratzinger is a friend of Catholic Tradition. All sorts of crazy people came to crazy conclusions and then seek act on those conclusions in a violent way.

Remember, John Hinckley, Jr., thought that he could impress the actress Jodie Foster by shooting then President Ronald Wilson Reagan on March 30, 1981, outside of the Washington Hilton Hotel on Connecticut Avenue in Washington, D.C. The fact that Al Sharpton was attacked on a street in Brooklyn on January 12, 1991, by an drunken man named Michael Ricciardi does not mean that Sharpton's views had been vnidicated. Indeed, there are delusional people who hate President George Walker Bush because they think that he is "pro-life". Others believe quite mistakenly that the War in Iraq is actually a crusade against the very hard-core Mohammedans whom Bush has helped to put into power, thus resulting in unspeakable (and largely unreported) persecutions of Eastern rite Catholics in Iraq. While we pray that no physical harm comes to Joseph Ratzinger as we pray also for his conversion back to the Catholic Faith, it is completely illogical to assert that the existence of a threat based on Summorum Pontificum obliterates Joseph Ratzinger's longstanding commitment to the Modernist belief about the evolutionary nature of dogmatic truth--and all of the errors that flow therefrom.

Joseph Ratzinger proves that he is no friend of the Catholic Faith by blaspheming God repeatedly as he praises false religions and by permitting blasphemies to be committed against the Mother of God, as happened with the world premiere of Nativity Story last year in the Vatican. He proves that he is no friend of the Catholic Faith by promoting false ecumenism and the separation of Church and State, citing the American model of Church-State relations as the one to be followed despite Pope Leo XIII's saying most emphatically in Longiqua Oceani, January 6, 1895, that this was not the case at all. He is no friend at all of the Social Reign of Christ the King. And he proves that he is no friend of the Catholic Faith and thus of the good of souls by his appointment of such party-line conciliarists as Jaime Soto to be coadjutor "bishops" in the conciliar structures.

It is incongruous for article after article and book after book to have been written during the false pontificate of Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II to criticize the praise of false religions, for example, while overlooking the exact same words out of the mouth of Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI. Consider this passage from The Devil's Final Battle about Wojtyla's World Day of Peace address on January 1, 2001:

After Vatican II, however, the Social Kingship of Christ was replaced by something called the "civilization of love"--a term coined by Pope Paul VI to describe the utopian notion that "dialogue with the world" would lead to a world brotherhood of religions that would not at all be explicitly Christian. The slogan "civilization of love" has been repeated incessantly since then. As Pope John Paul II described this novel notion in his address for the World Day of Peace in 2001:

Dialogue leads to a recognition of diversity and opens the mind to the mutual acceptance and genuine collaboration demanded by the human family's basic vocation to unity. As such, dialogue is a privileged means for building the civilization of love and peace that my revered predecessor Paul VI indicated as the ideal to inspire cultural, social, political and economic life in our times. ... The different religions too can and ought to contribute decisively in this process. My many encounters with representatives of other religions--I recall especially the meeting in Assisi in 1986 and in Saint Peter's Square in 1999--have made me more confident that mutual openness between the followers of the various religions can greatly serve the cause of peace and the common good of the human family.

Even the current Pope has been led to think that interreligious prayer meetings such as those at Assisi in 1986 and 2002 are among the very means by which this utopian dream is supposed to be realized. Yes, the mere sight of such spectacles would have horrified Pope Pius XI and every one of his predecessors. Meanwhile, the Social Kingship of Christ in a Catholic social order is de facto excluded from the new orientation.

Of course, the Church's new "ecumenical" and "interreligious" orientation cannot possibly be reconciled with the Message of Fatima, and this explains why, beginning with Vatican II, an effort has been made to revise the Message in keeping with the new orientation, if not to bury it completely. (The Devil's Final Battle, p. 74.)

Here are Joseph Ratzinger's own words on the subject, issued just a few days ago now:

"What you represent," said the Pope in his address, "in a certain sense expresses the different worlds and religious heritages of humanity, to which the Catholic Church looks with sincere respect and cordial attention."

"The current meeting takes us back in our minds to 1986 when ... John Paul II invited high-level religious representatives to the town of St. Francis in order to pray for peace, underlining on that occasion the intrinsic link uniting authentic religious attitudes with this fundamental good for humanity," said the Holy Father. He also recalled how in 2002, following the attack against the World Trade Center in New York of September 11, 2001, John Paul II again invited religious leaders to Assisi "to ask  God to put an end to the grave perils threatening humanity, especially because of terrorism.

"While respecting the differences of the various religions," Benedict XVI added, "we are called to work for peace, and to an effective commitment to promote reconciliation between peoples. This is the true 'spirit of Assisi' which is opposed to all forms of violence and to all abuses of religion as a pretext for violence. Faced with a world riven by conflict, where sometime violence is justified in the name of God, it is important to reiterate that religions can never become vehicles of hatred, that never by invoking the name of God can evil and violence be justified.

"Quite the contrary, religions can and must offer valuable resources for the creation of a peaceful humanity, because they speak to man's heart of peace. The Catholic Church intends to continue down the path of dialogue in order to favor understanding between religious cultures, traditions and wisdom. It is my heartfelt hope that this spirit may become ever more widespread, especially where tensions are strongest, where freedom and respect for others are denied, and men and women suffer the consequences of intolerance and incomprehension." (Vatican Information Service, October 22, 2007.)

How is this substantially different from what Wojtyla said on the occasion of World Youth Day in 2001? It's not. It's the same revolutionary rejection of Catholicism as the one and only foundation of social and personal order.as exhibited by Roncalli and Montini and Wojtyla. Summorum Pontificum does not make this all go away. Summorum Pontificum does not undo the harm to souls that will be done by a leftist such as "Bishop" Jaime Soto, who believes in every single bit of what Ratzinger spoke in the passage just quoted.

Well, we have been warned about all of this. Although some contend that it is absurd even to think that the conciliar church is indeed a counterfeit, an ape, of the Catholic Church, we have been warned about all of this. One of those who warned Catholics was the great Biblical scholar Father E. Sylvester Berry, who wrote the following in the year 1921, the year of my own late mother's birth:

“In the forgoing chapter [12] St. John outlines the history of the Church from the coming of Antichrist until the end of the world . . . In this chapter he shows us the true nature of the conflict.  It shall be a war unto death between the Church and the powers of darkness in a final effort to destroy the Church and thus prevent the universal reign of Christ on earth.

Satan will first attempt to destroy the power of the Papacy and bring about the downfall of the Church through heresies, schisms and persecutions that must surely follow . . . he will raise up Antichrist and his prophet to lead the faithful into error and destroy those who remain steadfast . . . . . . The Church, the faithful spouse of Jesus Christ, is represented as a woman clothed in the glory of divine grace . . .

" . . . In this passage there is an evident allusion to some particular son of the Church whose power and influence shall be such that Satan will seek his destruction at any cost.  This person can be none other than the Pope to be elected in those days.  The Papacy will be attacked by all the powers of hell.  In consequence the Church will suffer great trials and afflictions in securing a successor upon the throne of Peter.

“The words of St. Paul to the Thessalonians may be a reference to the Papacy as the obstacle to the coming of Antichrist:  ‘You know what withholdeth, that he may be revealed in his time.  For the mystery of iniquity already worketh; only that he who now holdeth, do hold until he be taken out of the way.  And then that wicked one shall be revealed.’

“ . . . St. John  . . . sees in heaven a red dragon with seven heads and ten horns . . . The dragon is Satan red with the blood of martyrs, which he will cause to flow. The meaning of the seven heads and ten horns must be sought in the description of the beast that represents Antichrist where they symbolize kings or worldly powers. (II Thessalonians 2:6-7)  . . . Satan’s attacks against the Church will be organized and carried out by the governments and ruling powers of those days.

“With the beast of Antichrist only the horns have diadems as symbols of royalty or governing power.  The heads are branded with names of blasphemy. (Apocalypse, 13:1)  Hence they symbolize the sins and errors that will afflict the Church . . . in this final struggle to prevent the universal reign of Christ all forms of sin and error will be marshaled against the Church . . .  all errors which have afflicted the Church may be summed up in these seven: Judaism, paganism, Arianism, Mohammedanism, Protestantism, rationalism, and atheism.

“The dragon is seen in heaven which is here a symbol of the Church, the kingdom of heaven on earth.  This indicates that the first troubles of those days will be inaugurated within the Church by apostate bishops, priests, and peoples, — the stars dragged down by the tail of the dragon.

“ . . .  The dragon stands before the woman, ready to devour the child that is brought forth.  In other words, the powers of hell seek by all means to destroy the Pope elected in those days.

“. . . It is now the hour for the powers of darkness.  The new-born Son of the Church is taken ‘to God and to his throne.’  Scarcely has the newly elected Pope been enthroned when he is snatched away by martyrdom. The ‘mystery of iniquity’ gradually developing through the centuries, cannot be fully consummated while the power of the Papacy endures, but now he that ‘withholdeth is taken out of the way.’  During the interregnum ‘that wicked one shall be revealed’ in his fury against the Church.”

“It is a matter of history that the most disastrous periods for the Church were times when the Papal throne was vacant, or when anti-popes contended with the legitimate head of the ChurchThus also shall it be in those evil days to come.

“The Church deprived of her chief pastor must seek sanctuary in solitude there to be guided by God Himself during those trying days . . . In those days the Church shall . . . find refuge and consolation in faithful souls, especially in the seclusion of the religious life.

“ . . . Our Divine Savior has a representative on earth in the person of the Pope upon whom He has conferred full powers to teach and govern.  Likewise, Antichrist will have his representative in the false prophet who will be endowed with the plenitude of satanic powers to deceive the nations.

“ . . . As indicated by the resemblance to a lamb, the prophet will probably set himself up in Rome as a sort of antipope during the vacancy of the papal throne . . .

“ . . . The ‘abomination of desolation’ has been wrought in many Catholic churches by heretics and apostates who have broken altars, scattered relics of martyrs and desecrated the Blessed Sacrament.  At the time of the French Revolution a lewd woman was seated upon the altar of the cathedral in Paris and worshipped as the goddess of reason.  Such things but faintly foreshadow the abominations that will desecrate churches in those sorrowful days when Antichrist will seat himself at the altar to be adored as God.

“. . .Antichrist and his prophet will introduce ceremonies to imitate the Sacraments of the Church.  In fact there will be a complete organization - a church of Satan set up in opposition to the Church of Christ.  Satan will assume the part of God the Father; Antichrist will be honored as Savior, and his prophet will usurp the role of Pope.  Their ceremonies will counterfeit the Sacraments .” (Father E. Sylvester Berry, The Apocalypse of St. John, 1921, contained in the October, 2007, edition of Adsum.)

Food for thought and prayerful reflection

While great attention has been focused in this article on some of the specific ways by which the conciliarists and their fellow revolutionaries in the social arena have sought to implement their programs, including by the stealing of elections, it would be quite mistaken to think that any expose of the associations between the like-minded ecclesiastical and social revolutionaries is going to "convince" the conciliar Vatican to "clean house." Oh, I used to think this years ago during the false pontificate of Karol Wojtyla. Read Father Berry's commentary again. Read it a third time. You might have some idea of the fact that we are facing a wholesale assault against the Faith, and that Rome has indeed been captured by the very forces of the adversary himself, which is why we must take refuge in the shelter provided by true bishops and true priests in the Catholic catacombs, making no concessions whatsoever to conciliarism or to the nonexistent legitimacy of its false shepherds. The organized forces of naturalism and those of conciliarism are united in their efforts to sustain a world where it is not absolutely necessary to subordinate all things at all times (personally, socially, internationally) to the Deposit of Faith that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has entrusted exclusively to the Catholic Church.

Just as there is no stopping the forces of organized naturalism in the midst of the world by this or that political strategy or effort, most of which strategies and efforts attack symptoms of problems and use naturalist means to explain and attack them, so is it the case that no amount of letters sent to the conciliar Vatican or exposes of the nefarious deeds or Judeo-Masonic/Communist/homosexualist inclinations of its "bishops" and their chancery factotums is going to change a blessed thing in the operation of the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism. Apostates are not interested in fidelity to the cause of the Social Kingship of Our Lord Jesus Christ. They are interested in fostering the new world order, the novus ordo secolorum, the "civilization of love" referred to by the author of the section from The Devil's Final Battle quoted above.

Our refuge must be in the Immaculate Heart of Mary during these times and apostasy and betrayal. She will protect us. We must remember that we our living at exactly the moment and precisely the time that God knew from all eternity that we would be living. The graces He won for us by the shedding of His own Most Precious Blood on the wood of the Holy Cross and that flow into our hearts and souls through the loving hands of His Most Blessed Mother, the Mediatrix of All Graces, are sufficient for us to prosper under our personal, social and ecclesiastical crosses, giving all of the sufferings of our lives and of the present moment in which we live back to His Most Sacred Heart through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

There is nothing we can suffer in this passing, mortal vale of tears that is the equal of what one of our least Venial Sins caused Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to suffer in His Sacred Humanity during His Passion Death--and that have contributed very mightily to the sufferings of the Church Militant during His Mystical Passion, Death and Burial in the past 135 years. We must keep Our Lady--and all of the angels and saints--company every day in a true offering of the Immemorial Mass of Tradition by a true bishop or a true priest, remembering that each Mass re-presents the Sacrifice of Calvary to us in an unbloody manner and is also at the same time a foretaste of Heavenly glories. A little time spent with Our Lady's Divine Son in His Real Presence in the Most Blessed Sacrament is also not a bad idea

Pope Pius XI, writing in Quas Primas, December 11, 1925, explained the Providence of God in permitting us to live through difficult times as he discussed why he was instituting the Feast of Christ the King, which we celebrate annually on the last Sunday of October, which feast this year is just three days away from now:

History, in fact, tells us that in the course of ages these festivals have been instituted one after another according as the needs or the advantage of the people of Christ seemed to demand: as when they needed strength to face a common danger, when they were attacked by insidious heresies, when they needed to be urged to the pious consideration of some mystery of faith or of some divine blessing. Thus in the earliest days of the Christian era, when the people of Christ were suffering cruel persecution, the cult of the martyrs was begun in order, says St. Augustine, "that the feasts of the martyrs might incite men to martyrdom." The liturgical honors paid to confessors, virgins and widows produced wonderful results in an increased zest for virtue, necessary even in times of peace. But more fruitful still were the feasts instituted in honor of the Blessed Virgin. As a result of these men grew not only in their devotion to the Mother of God as an ever-present advocate, but also in their love of her as a mother bequeathed to them by their Redeemer. Not least among the blessings which have resulted from the public and legitimate honor paid to the Blessed Virgin and the saints is the perfect and perpetual immunity of the Church from error and heresy. We may well admire in this the admirable wisdom of the Providence of God, who, ever bringing good out of evil, has from time to time suffered the faith and piety of men to grow weak, and allowed Catholic truth to be attacked by false doctrines, but always with the result that truth has afterwards shone out with greater splendor, and that men's faith, aroused from its lethargy, has shown itself more vigorous than before.

The festivals that have been introduced into the liturgy in more recent years have had a similar origin, and have been attended with similar results. When reverence and devotion to the Blessed Sacrament had grown cold, the feast of Corpus Christi was instituted, so that by means of solemn processions and prayer of eight days' duration, men might be brought once more to render public homage to Christ. So, too, the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was instituted at a time when men were oppressed by the sad and gloomy severity of Jansenism, which had made their hearts grow cold, and shut them out from the love of God and the hope of salvation.

If We ordain that the whole Catholic world shall revere Christ as King, We shall minister to the need of the present day, and at the same time provide an excellent remedy for the plague which now infects society. We refer to the plague of anti-clericalism, its errors and impious activities. This evil spirit, as you are well aware, Venerable Brethren, has not come into being in one day; it has long lurked beneath the surface. The empire of Christ over all nations was rejected. The right which the Church has from Christ himself, to teach mankind, to make laws, to govern peoples in all that pertains to their eternal salvation, that right was denied. Then gradually the religion of Christ came to be likened to false religions and to be placed ignominiously on the same level with them. It was then put under the power of the state and tolerated more or less at the whim of princes and rulers. Some men went even further, and wished to set up in the place of God's religion a natural religion consisting in some instinctive affection of the heart. There were even some nations who thought they could dispense with God, and that their religion should consist in impiety and the neglect of God. The rebellion of individuals and states against the authority of Christ has produced deplorable consequences. We lamented these in the Encyclical Ubi arcano; we lament them today: the seeds of discord sown far and wide; those bitter enmities and rivalries between nations, which still hinder so much the cause of peace; that insatiable greed which is so often hidden under a pretense of public spirit and patriotism, and gives rise to so many private quarrels; a blind and immoderate selfishness, making men seek nothing but their own comfort and advantage, and measure everything by these; no peace in the home, because men have forgotten or neglect their duty; the unity and stability of the family undermined; society in a word, shaken to its foundations and on the way to ruin. We firmly hope, however, that the feast of the Kingship of Christ, which in future will be yearly observed, may hasten the return of society to our loving Savior. It would be the duty of Catholics to do all they can to bring about this happy result. Many of these, however, have neither the station in society nor the authority which should belong to those who bear the torch of truth. This state of things may perhaps be attributed to a certain slowness and timidity in good people, who are reluctant to engage in conflict or oppose but a weak resistance; thus the enemies of the Church become bolder in their attacks. But if the faithful were generally to understand that it behooves them ever to fight courageously under the banner of Christ their King, then, fired with apostolic zeal, they would strive to win over to their Lord those hearts that are bitter and estranged from him, and would valiantly defend his rights.

Moreover, the annual and universal celebration of the feast of the Kingship of Christ will draw attention to the evils which anticlericalism has brought upon society in drawing men away from Christ, and will also do much to remedy them. While nations insult the beloved name of our Redeemer by suppressing all mention of it in their conferences and parliaments, we must all the more loudly proclaim his kingly dignity and power, all the more universally affirm his rights.

With a love for Christ the King and Mary our Immaculate Queen, let us pray as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permitting, trying, as unworthy as we are, to plant a few seeds for the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the restoration of the Social Reign of her Divine Son.
