Republished: Our Friend and Protector: Saint Joseph

Today, of course, is the great Feast of Saint Joseph, the Spouse of Our Lady, the just and silent man of the House of David.

Saint Joseph denied himself his biological fatherhood in order to serve as the ever-virginal spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the most loving foster-father to Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. In him, Saint Joseph, is to be found every virtue for a husband and father to imitate: patience, charity, forbearance in all difficulties, fortitude, perseverance, temperance, and total self-abnegation. Those of us who are husbands and fathers must learn to be more silent, to learn to be more loving, to learn to be more patient, to learn to be more meek, to learn to be ever-ready to worker harder and harder at our life's work so as to help our wives and our children to live as redeemed creatures here below in order to know eternal happiness hereafter.

Saint Joseph is the model of home life and the patron of artisans, the protector of widows and orphans, the patron of those who are in danger of death. May we invoke his patronage each day after we invoke that of his Most Chaste Spouse, Our Lady, and never be slow to turn to him in our spiritual and temporal needs:

O Saint Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in thee all my interests and desires. O thou Saint Joseph, do assist me by thy powerful intercession, and obtain for me from thy divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; so that, having engaged here below thy heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of fathers. O Saint Joseph, I never weary contemplating thee, and Jesus asleep in thy arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near thy heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me, and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. Saint Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for me. Amen!

The new article for today, Losing Everything to Gain God, also focuses on our Good Saint Joseph.

A blessed Feast of Saint Joseph to you all!

Of Worldwide Scope

Another brief reflection on the imbroglio that Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI and his brother German "bishops" in the counterfeit church of conciliarism find themselves in at the present time. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Joseph, pray for us.

Today, March 18, 2010, is the twenty-eighth anniversary of my mother's death. Norma Florence Red Fox Droleskey (born as Maxine Coomer in Kansas City, Missouri, on March 6, 1921, and then adopted with her twin brother, who died in infancy, by a vaudevillian Sioux Indian chieftain, William Red Fox) died of stomach and esophageal cancer, which had been diagnosed just forty-one days before, at the then named Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, at 9:20 p.m., Central Standard Time, on March 18, 1982. Please pray for the repose of my late mother's immortal soul. Where has the time gone? Twenty-eight years?

Today is also the third anniversary of the deaths of the late Father Daniel Johnson, that intrepid lover of souls who brought 554 people into the Church during the twenty-five years of his pastorate at St. Mary's by the Sea Church in Huntington Beach, California. Today is also the second anniversary of the death of Mrs. Theresa Colgan, the mother of our friend (and my former student at Saint Francis College in Brooklyn, New York, during the 1985-1986 academic year) former Lieutenant Spencer Colgan, NYPD (retired). Please pray for their souls as well.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

There should be an original article for tomorrow, the Feast of Saint Joseph, in addition to a republished article on the Chaste Spouse of Our Lady and the foster-father of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ upon whom we must rely so tenderly every day of our lives.

Republished: Saint Patrick and the "C" Word

Today is the feast of Saint Patrick, the Apostle of Ireland. A blessed Saint Patrick's Day to you all, especially those of you who are of Irish descent (as are my wife and, on her mother's side, our daughter).

Saint Patrick was sent to convert the pagans of the Emerald Isle by Pope Saint Celestine I. Saint Patrick did not engage in "inter-religious dialogue." He sought to convert the Druid chieftains so as to effect the conversion of their followers. The land of pagan debauchery became the Island of Saints.

Alas, the Island of Saints has returned in large measure to its pagan roots. The counterfeit church of conciliarism, which rejects "proselytism" in most instances, has deprived the people of Ireland of Sanctifying Grace. We must pray to Saint Patrick each day for our own conversion as well as for the conversion of the conciliar revolutionaries who are so responsible for the corruption of the Holy Faith and for leading a Catholic land such as Ireland back into the debauchery from whence he, Saint Patrick, converted it. Saint Patrick, pray for us, pray for Ireland, pray for all of those of Irish descent. Our Lady of Knock, pray for us.

Salvation Or Votes?

Just another article on ObamaCare. Although some of the quotations in this article were used two days ago in Kill Truth, Kill Babies, this article has been undertaken with a view to reaching perhaps one of the wavering "pro-life" Democrats in the United States House of Representatives to convince that one legislator to stand firm in opposition to ObamaCare. I am counting on the few readers of this site to send this article to a few of those wavering House Democrats as they are the only ones who can, humanly speaking, stop ObamaCare from being becoming law. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Finally, I ask for prayers for various intentions, staring with Sharon's Uncle Ben Collins, who in in a nursing home in Florida and was given the Sacrament of Extreme Unction yesterday by Father James Thielen. Sharon's uncle is two years younger than his late brother, John Griffith Collins III, Sharon's father. We thank Father Thielen for his going down to Florida to attend to Sharon's uncle's immortal soul and ask your prayers for him at this time.

I ask you also the remember the birthdays of several people who have been in my acquaintance over the years who a are celebrating their birthdays this week and next. One of these is a schoolmate of mine from parochial school on Long Island who turned fifty-nine  years of age yesterday. Another is one of those many people who think us daft for having embraced sedevacantism, a man in the conciliar structures who turned fifty years of age yesterday. A high school classmate from Oyster Bay High School turns fifty-nine on March 21, a young man for whom I served as his sponsor at what I thought was his Confirmation in 1991 turns thirty-two on March 22, and the eldest daughter of my eldest first cousin, who turned sixty-six on March 4, turns thirty-seven on March 23. Got all of that? I would appreciate your prayers for each of these people, especially that those who are not Catholic will convert to the Faith before they die. Thank you.

Kill Truth, Kill Babies

Another brief article on ObamaCare.

Some have queried me as to why two articles "popped" up on Saturday and Sunday after I wrote three days ago to expect the next article today? Well, I thought I could get what the ancients would call by the name "rest." Events intervened. Thus the articles. No mystery. As a former priest-friend of ours now in the Society of Saint Pius X used to say to us, "It's rest in peace, not before."

Unity Among Lutherans

Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI visited the Lutheran church in Rome yesterday, Laetare Sunday. Just par of the apostate course of conciliarism, which is why we don't need bogus information about conciliar travesties was included erroneously in the first posting of Pressing the Mute Button nearly two months ago, and for which I hereby apologize. We don't need bogus information when the false "pontiff" does things like he did yesterday so openly, so repeatedly, so unaware as to how he offends God and deceives souls. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Please do read the update below on the fund-raising drive for the possible new home of the Confraternity of Saint Albert the Great.

March 14 Article and Update on the Future Home of the Confraternity of Saint Albert the Great

Without Precedent

Well, it's Laetare Sunday in Europe and Asia and Australia. It will be Laetare Sunday here in the Untied States of America in a few hours (make sure to set your clocks ahead one hour if you don't live in Arizona or Hawaii or Puerto Rico, Guam, or the Virgin Islands). Lent is half over. Easter Sunday is but three weeks away, bringing with it a glorious fifty days of celebration after our forty days' journey in the desert of Lent. One day, of course, our Lenten journey of life itself will be over. And perhaps it will be the case that we will, solely by the graces won for us by Our Lord on the wood of the Holy Cross and that are sent to us through the loving hands of His Most Blessed Mother, she who is the Mediatrix of All Graces, we will have planted a few seeds for the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of that same Blessed Mother, thus signifying the defeat of the forces responsible for the blasphemous outrage chronicled in this new article.

A New Home for the Confraternity of Saint Albert the Great: Although it most evident from the small numbers of people who respond to appeals to support the work of this site that I am a terrible fund-raiser, one of the worst ever, I do hope that some of you, especially those of who with considerable means at your disposal, will go to the St. Albert the Great website and click on A New Home For St. Albert's? for information as to how to support the purchase of what would serve as an excellent home for the Confraternity of Saint Albert the Great. There is a Pledge Form for those interested in supporting this purchase with their financial gifts to do so. Although, yes, we are always in need of your assistance, I do urge those who have the means to support the purchase of this excellent facility in Fairfield, Ohio, for the Confraternity of Saint Albert the Great. Thank you for any consideration that you can give to this request. Pledges need to be made by Palm Sunday, March 28, 2010.

A blessed Laetare Sunday to you all!

Waterloo For Benedict?

Waterloo for Benedict? No, probably not. However, it is very interesting to watch the conciliar wagons circle around the false "pontiff" to seek to hold him harmless for the transfer of a perverted priest in Germany from the Diocese of Essen when he was the conciliar "archbishop" of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising between 1977 and 1982--and to claim that he knew nothing about the transfers of other such clergy elsewhere in Germany. It's all the fault of the anti-Catholic reporters in the secular media, something that Tarcisio "Cardinal" Bertone claimed about the scandals in the United States of American when he visited here in 2007 (see Enemies of Souls Universally). It can't be that many of the lords of the counterfeit church of conciliarism have actually fostered a liturgical and pastoral environment that promotes and protects the agenda of perversity? Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

As I noted yesterday, there was the possibility of a new article popping up today. One might pop up tomorrow or Monday presuming that it is God's Holy Will to live until then. One never knows. One must be prepared at all times.

Advice To Shepherds, Advice To Us All

This is a brief commentary in honor of Pope Saint Gregory the Great. The textual material posted last evening from Pope Saint Gregory the Great's Book of Pastoral Rule has been incorporated into this article with some commentary on it. This is a very brief article. May we pray to Pope Saint Gregory the Great for the restoration fo a true pope on the Throne of Saint Peter. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Pope Saint Gregory the Great, pray for us.

The next original article to appear on this site may not be posted until Monday, March 15, 2010. Keep checking, though. One might pop up in the meantime.

Blind to Truth, Blind to the Horror of Personal Sin

The Brothers Ratzinger are much in the news these days. It is amazing how tone-deaf both of these men are in light of reports of the serious physical and moral abuse of children. Want to read more? Here's the article.

There is a new mission that has been started for the Catholics in Milwaukee who have been expelled from Saint Hugh of Lincoln Church and for others who no longer wish to be associated with cultist activities. The St. Martin of Tours Mission contains an excellent synopsis of the attitude prevalent among some bishops and priests that had to be discussed in eight articles on this site in the past four months. Please pray for the Catholics of St. Martin of Tours Mission.

Short And To The Catholic Point

In the midst of writing another article, one about the follies of the Brothers Ratzinger, men who are incapable of acting against evils that are right under their very noses as they promote the evils of conciliarism, it came to my attention that William "Cardinal" Levada, fresh off of his visit to Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary in Denton, Nebraska, that was the subject of yesterday's commentary, gave a lecture at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, last Saturday, March 6, 2010, that deserves a bit of attention. The article is relatively short and to the Catholic point. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Please pray for the Catholics of St. Martin of Tours Mission. (I do not link indiscriminately to other sites. I have had to reject efforts by many people who I do not know to link to their sites. As I am going to be held accountable to God when I die for my actions, I have been very cautious in linking only to those sites I trust. My decisions in this regard are mine and mine alone. I really don't want to heap any more coals on top of my head than I deserve already for my sins.)

Look for that Brothers Ratzinger article at some point tomorrow, Thursday, March 11, 2010.

Words Really Do Matter

Ho-hum. Yawn. William "Cardinal" Levada, the prefect of the conciliar Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, has visited the United States of America to preside at the dedication of a revamped chapel at Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary in Denton, Nebraska.

The red carpet was indeed rolled out for a Modernist, whose words on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, have caused shocked waves among some traditionally-minded Catholics who are attached to the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism. These waves of shock are entirely self-made. "Cardinal" Levada said nothing last week that Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI has not said in the past, including in his Explanatory Letter that accompanied Summorum Pontificum, July 7, 2007. Words really do matter. The failure of many to take seriously the false "pontiff's" words nearly three years ago is coming back to haunt them rather badly at this time, unless, of course, the whole fight for "tradition" in the indult/Motu world has been about incorporating more and more elements of the Protestant and Masonic Novus Ordo worship service in the modernized version of the Immemorial Mass of Tradition that was promulgated by Angelo Roncalli/John XXIII in 1961 and 1962. Is that what the fights have been about over the past four decades? To simply get to the point of a more sober and "reverent" offering of the Novus Ordo? Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. Saint Frances of Rome, pray for us.

Understood By God Alone

This article is in honor of Saint John of God, whose feast is celebrated today. Saint John of God was little understood during his life. It was the case that even his longtime spiritual director, Saint John of Avila, who knew him fairly well, did not understand his decisions. Saint John of God suffered from all manner of slanders and even beatings in his life. He suffered slanders even up to the point of his own death. It was enough for him to be understood by God. It should be enough for us as well. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint John of God, pray for us.

Please continue to pray for the repose of the soul of Mrs. Jennie Fama, whose Solemn High Requiem Mass will be offered by His Excellency Bishop Robert F. McKenna, O.P., in but a few hours at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel in Monroe, Connecticut. Please pray also for the needs of her late husband, Mr. Salvatore Fama, and their children and grandchildren and other relatives. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

This will be a busy week for articles. Much is going on at the conciliar Vatican. ObamaCare is back upon us again. Stay tuned.

Pillar and Champion of Catholic Truth

Today is the Third Sunday of Lent. It is also the Commemoration of Saint Thomas Aquinas, the Angelic Doctor whose Scholastic method is so despised by Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI. As the true popes themselves have taught us, no one who rejects the teaching and method of Saint Thomas Aquinas can ever be free from the suspicion of error. May this ardent lover of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Real Presence in the Most Blessed Sacrament and such a devoted client of the Mother of God, especially by means of her Most Holy Rosary, help us to reject the ways of Modernism fostered by the false "pontiff" at the present time, helping us by so doing to save our souls as we cling only to what the Catholic Church teaches and nothing else. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Thomas Aquinas, O.P., pray for us.

There should be an article in honor of Saint John of God, whose feast we observe tomorrow, Monday, March 8, 2010.

Do Tell

Father Gabriel Amorth, a noted exorcist in Rome, has written a memoir that speaks of actual satanism in the Vatican. As my brother was wont to say in his youth when we were growing up together in Great Neck and Oyster Bay Cove, New York, "Do tell." Why wouldn't the devil be worshiped by men who offer an abomination to God every day by means of a false liturgical rite (the Novus Ordo) and who propagate false doctrines and condemned propositions that have their origin with him alone? Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. Saints Perpetua and Felicity, pray for us.

Finally, please do pray for the soul of my late mother, who was born on this date in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1921. She died twelve days after her sixty-first birthday twenty-nine years ago. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Becoming What They Once Opposed

The fall of the powerful Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee of the United States House of Representatives, Charles Bernard Rangel, a Catholic who has maintained his "good standing" in the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism despite his support for baby-killing under cover of the civil law and despite his being a thirty-third degree Freemason, contains some very stark parallels with the legacy left by the man he defeated in a Democratic Party primary forty years ago this year, the late United States Representative Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Rangel has become almost exactly what he opposed in Powell, whose power went to his head over the course of time. We must pray to Our Lady to make sure that we accept humiliation and criticisms in this life so that we do not fall into the same trap as those who are prominent in public life. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Joseph, pray for us.

There should be new articles on each of the next three days.

Refusing To Champion Christ the King

It was about a week ago that Francis "Cardinal" George, the conciliar "archbishop" of Chicago, Illinois, went to make nice-nice with the sect known popularly as the Mormons. It was just three days ago now that "Archbishop" Charles H. Chaput, O.F.M., Cap., of Denver, Colorado, spoke at Houston Baptist University. So much Americanism. So little time. It is Lent, after all, a time of special penance in reparation for our sins. Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us. Saint Casimir, pray for us. Saint Simeon, pray for us.

Finally, I ask your prayers for the repose of the immortal soul of Mrs. Jennie Fama, a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel in Monroe, Connecticut. Her son-in-law, Mr. Ronald Kusterer, informed me this afternoon that she had suffered for some time from cancer. She was a valiant Catholic woman who was always unfailingly pleasant whenever we encountered her. We express our deepest condolences to her family and ask you to keep the needs of her husband, Salvatore Fama, and children and grandchildren, several of whom are Lucy's schoolmates (with whom so has been so happy to be reunited in the past two months), in your prayers as we pray for the repose of this prayerful woman's immortal soul. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Revised: No Rush Hour at Calvary

Although a new article might be poster later today, a recent report in the Belfast Telegraph in Northern Ireland discussed a conciliar presbyter's offering of the Protestant and Masonic Novus Ordo service in fifteen minutes. This is not news. I attended a Novus Ordo travesty once that was completed in thirteen minutes. Sadly, however, there are even true priests who rush the offering of the Immemorial Mass of Tradition, the one and only true Mass of the Roman Rite of the Catholic Church.

Prefaced by a new set of remarks, this article, published on September 21, 2007, is a reminder that there can never be any "rush hour" at Calvary. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

I want to thank those who have made non-tax-deductible financial gifts to us in the past few days. We very much appreciate the generosity of those who support the work of this site and have the financial wherewithal to be of assistance to us.

March 2 Article and Update

King Juan Carlos, Meet Pope Leo XIII

This very brief article (it happens every once in a while) is a commentary on the absurdity of the Catholic king in Spain, King Juan Carlos, being held harmless by that country's conciliar "bishops" as he will soon have to do his "duty" and sign a bill passed by The Cortes, the Spanish Parliament, that "liberalizes" existing baby-killing laws in the land of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. The English won more than a naval battle when the forces of the Spanish Armada were defeated on August 8, 1588. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Please do make not of the fact that I have the The Miraculous Novena of Grace in honor of the 388th anniversary of the canonization of Saint Francis Xavier on the Feast of Pope Saint Gregory the Great, March 12, 1622. (Also canonized on that same date were: Saint Ignatius of Loyola, Saint Philip Neri, Saint Teresa of Avila, and Saint Isidore the Farmer, each of whom is a favorite of ours.) This is a very powerful and efficacious novena. I am going to pray it for the needs of Holy Mother Church in this time of apostasy and betrayal. Will you join me? It is prayed between Thursday, March 4 and Friday, March 12

Also, I note to those who send us non-tax-deductible financial gifts, for which we are always so very grateful, that we remember them in our A Novena to Saint John Bosco. I posted this novena nearly four years ago now. I re-highlight it again as we have a great devotion to Saint John Bosco, the father and the teacher of the young. He has helped us quite a lot. I am sure that he will help those of you who choose to pray this novena.

Imagine What A Lost Soul Looks Like To God

The loss of life and the physical devastation that has occurred as a result of the catastrophic earthquake in Peru two days ago are beyond true comprehension. We must be united in our prayers with those who have survived this terrible disaster, praying also for the souls who have perished and those who might be buried under rubble in at this time as they face the possibility of imminent death.

The scenes of devastation are certainly horrific. Taking nothing away from the suffering of those who have been affected by this tragedy, what struck me about the scenes of devastation was what a single lost soul looks like to God. What do our souls look like to God right now, at this very moment?

Let us continue to pray for the the victims of the earthquakes in Chile and in Haiti as we pray to Our Lady so that our souls will never look ugly to God. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Finally, yesterday's article, Follow Us--Or We Will Kill You, has been re-posted. I was asked last evening by several people to "sit" on the article overnight as some were concerned about fanning the flames of yet another controversy.

After spending all night in prayer attempting to weigh the considered observations of those who had written or spoken to me, I decided to wait until after Holy Mass this morning to make a final decision concerning the article.

As I see it as a layman, the banning of ordinary Catholics from the reception of the Sacraments in a particular chapel constitutes a spiritual "death penalty" for us in the laity. I cannot see how this spiritual death penalty can be imposed as arbitrarily as it has been in many instances, sometimes without even a word of explanation to the party that is effectively "excommunicated." The laity cannot live in fear that one misstep or one disagreement will result in their arbitrary banishment from the Sacraments. This was not the case in years past. It cannot be the case now, especially as those do not want to assist at simulated offerings of Holy Mass by faux priests and who do not want to be in communion with the man who blasphemes God so regularly, Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, have so few Mass options available to them.

Thus it is after considerable prayer and reflection that I am re-posting yesterday's article, in which I tried to make a distinction between the obligation and desire that we have as Catholics to be duly submissive to our shepherds and the need at the same time to defend those who are suffering from the abuse of clerical authority. Can it be the first impulse of a shepherd to strike the sheep and ban them forever? Perhaps others who are far, far more learned than I am can answer that question in the affirmative. I do not see how a shepherd's first impulse can be to banish the sheep and then to tell them, "I don't need to give you an explanation."

May God have mercy on us in this time of apostasy and betrayal.

Little Caesars All (Pizza! Pizza!)

The world abounds with "little caesars," civil potentates who act with arrogance and hubris as their misdeeds are uncovered and reported. Such is the case with the accidental governor of the State of New York, the pro-abortion, pro-perversity Catholic named David Paterson, who has just moments ago announced that he is not seeking this year's Democratic Party gubernatorial nomination after a series of articles in The New York Times detailing how several members of the New York State Police have been accused of harassing and intimidating a woman who had been assaulted by one of Paterson's most trusted aides, David Johnson, "a close confidant who rose from being a young intern to being Mr. Paterson’s driver and scheduler and, later, to a wider role in Mr. Paterson’s operation." Fallen human nature is what it is. Each of us is inclined to sin. The more that one sins unrepentantly, however, including an unrepentant support for baby-killing and perversity under cover of the civil law, will be the more that one will seek to use arrogance and hubris to defend himself when trying to defend the indefensible. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.

Finally, I thought I would give you all an update on the state of responses to the Donations letter posted fifteen days ago now. The state of responses is this: truly sad. There have been nine responses via PayPal, and one thus far via the snail mail. People complained when this site went to a subscription basis. People complain when I make requests for non-tax-deductible financial gifts. Some people complain rather angrily about these requests

All I can do is to appeal to those who do not complaint at a moment when new bills are due right now and as the money will run out in a few days. We simply need a few more of those who support this site and have the financial wherewithal to make non-tax-deductible financial gifts to do so. Thank you. Our thanks also to those who have responded thus far.

There should be a new article posted tomorrow, the Feast of Saint Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin and Ember Saturday in the First Week of Lent.

Union of Americanists

Although late in the afternoon of Thursday in the first week of Lent, this brief article, which contains a lot of familiar quotations from our true popes, discusses Francis "Cardinal" George's pilgrimage to one of the meccas of the heresy of Americanism, Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Yup, there was the conciliar "Archbishop" of Chicago making nice-nice with those who believe that Our Blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the devil are "brothers" who will be reconciled at the end of time. Everything goes in conciliarism, including "papal" visits to mosques and synagogues and "papal" acts esteeming the symbols of false religions. Francis "Cardinal" George is only doing what his master in Rome has done and has exhorted his "bishops" to do themselves. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Blessed Constantius, O.P., pray for us.

Rotten To The Very Roots

What is rotten to its very roots? Conciliarism, of course. This article is really a sequel to last year's So Long to the Fifth Commandment, which dealt with the conciliar Vatican's president of the "Pontifical" Academy for Life, "Archbishop" Rino Fisichella, upbraiding the conciliar "bishop" in Recife, Brazil, Archbishop" Cardoso Sobrinho, for excommunicating doctors who performed an abortion on a nine year-old girl who was carrying twins as a result of an act of violence against her by a relative, stating that the abortions were necessary to "save" the life of the nine year-old girl. Fisichella is at it again, being enabled by "Father" Federico Lombardi, S.J., the spokesflack for Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. Saint Matthias, pray for us.

Please continue to pray for Sharon and for Lucy, both of whom have been hit hard by the flu as their early Lenten penance. Thank you for your prayers.

Please pray for her full recovery. Thank you.

Not The Work of God

The readership of this site has, it appears, reached an all-time low. Bottomed out. Sunk into the abyss! This is reflected by the fact that even the statistics page that proved the decreasing numbers of people viewing the site no longer works. We really haven't recovered from the slippage that occurred when the site went to a subscription basis nearly four weeks ago now. All is in the Providence of God. All is given back to Him with joy and gladness through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Conscious, however, that there are still a few readers, other than the critics (who have served very frequently as this site's best publicists!), who remain with the site and that there might be more long after I am dead, the work keeps going. This article? Well, it deals with the scandal caused by an invitation extended to the pro-abortion Mary Martha Corinne Morrison Claiborne Boggs Roberts to speak at the "Catholic Information Center" in Washington, District of Columbia, an invitation that was rescinded following an editorial in The Washington Times. There are many interesting aspects to this story. It's there for the reading if you care to click on the link above. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Peter, pray for us.

Killing Babies Is A Really Big Deal

A writer on the POLITICO.com website, Ben Smith, has remarked, evidently with much favor, on what he asserts is the political "maturation" of the Mormon named Mitt Romney, who no longer talks about "social issues," priding himself for talking about "big things." May I assure Messrs. Smith and Romney that the killing of innocent preborn babies is a really big thing in the eyes of the true God of Divine Revelation. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

The conciliar revolutionaries have been so successful in destroying the sensus Catholicus of so many hundreds of millions of Catholics worldwide that some Catholics, especially younger ones, don't even know what Ash Wednesday is. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Tomorrow's article will focus on the continued use of positivism (the contention that something is true merely because it has been stated as being true) as a tool to revise the truth about the Faith, about world events, and even about one's own identity.

A Manifesto For Christ the King

A group of well-heeled naturalists of the "conservative" stripe will be issuing what they the are calling the "Mount Vernon Manifesto" (or Statement) in an effort to unite "social" and "economic" conservatives in their battles against statism and statists. The "manifesto" or statement to be issued today includes a call for a return to a strict adherence to the exact language of the Constitution of the United States of America as the means to provide for limited government according to the mind of the framers of that document. Unfortunately, for these naturalists of the conservative strip, the Constitution is the problem as it rejects the Social Kingship of Christ the King as it must be exercised by the Catholic Church, thereby making its plain language so much silly puddy in the hands of "activist," "liberal" judges and legislators and executors. Why should judges and presidents and legislators have a respect the exact, precise meaning of the words in the American Constitution when Protestants and Modernist Catholics believe that they can take liberties Holy Writ Itself? The Constitution is as defenseless against efforts to deconstruct it as is the Bible when people do not recognize the authority of the Catholic Church and abide thereby. Any other questions? Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Blessed Reginald, O.P., pray for us.

Mr. Michael Reardon, a reader of this site, has sent me a very interesting note in response to the article published yesterday, Not A Mention of Christ the King. I will paste the note below, including it also as an appendix in Not A Mention of Christ the King. I thank Mr. Reardon for sending me the note and for giving me permission to republish it here:

Mr. Lincoln’s war had a dramatic effect on my own family. I have a dozen blood relatives who fought for the Confederacy,  most of whom were wounded, including lost limbs, with one missing in action and presumed killed. In regard to the Battle of Cold Harbor, the Cold Harbor Property, which sat at a crossroads where five roads met, and still do, was a 182-acre farm, where sat the Cold Harbor Tavern (Burnett’s Inn) and four other buildings, all owned by my great, great grandfather, Isaac Burnett. He lived in the tavern with his wife, his older sister, and his nine daughters and four sons. His son, George, my great grandfather, was the only Confederate soldier from Cold Harbor. My grandmother was born in the Tavern in 1880. The Battle of Cold Harbor was the bloodiest  short battle of the War, with the most intense fighting taking place within a half mile of the tavern. Some 7,000 Union soldiers were killed in twenty minutes in the main assault on June 3, 1864. Both the armies of George McClellan and Grant camped on Isaac Burnett’s property in 1862 and in 1864, with devastating results. In the words of Martha Burnett, Isaac’s 21-year old daughter at the time, “In the month of June 1864 General Grant’s army came on the premises and swept it clean of everything in the way of supplies for man and beast.” The Confederate never took anything from the property. Martha, on one occasion, saw a Union soldier take a large glass bowl from the tavern and hide it in a haystack. She went out in the night and hid it in another haystack. Today that bowl belongs to a cousin who lives in Williamsburg. Claims made by the family after the War in the amount of $10,415.00, a huge amount in those days, were denied by the U.S. Government.

Not A Mention of Christ the King

There are some articles that take time to write. This is one of those articles, one that took the better part of two full days to research and write. Although I meant to publish it on what is known unofficially as "Presidents' Day" yesterday, Monday, February 15, 2010, the article just took time to complete.

This new article deals with the fact that the spirit of Judeo-Masonry that has shaped public events in the United States of America from its very beginning has been such that none of the thirty-nine presidents of the United States of America who have delivered inaugural addresses have ever once mentioned the Holy Name of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Some have done so in other speeches and addresses. None has done so when commencing a term of office. This is in and of itself indicative of the Masonic ethos that the Incarnation and Redemptive Act of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ are matters of complete indifference to personal and social order. We must pray and work for the restoration of the Social Reign of Christ the King! Catholicism is the one and only foundation of personal and social order.

This, I believe, is a very long article. However, it is full of a good deal of research that I think at least some of you will find to be interesting. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Blessed Bernard Scammacca, C.O.P., pray for us.

Finally, His Excellency Bishop Robert F. McKenna, O.P., told the most remarkable story on Quinquagesima Sunday at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel in Monroe, Connecticut. Permit me a few moments to relate the story as briefly as I can.

Bishop McKenna began his story by saying that it had been fifty years ago that very day, February 14, that a Dominican priest in residence at Saint Catherine of Siena Priory on the East Side of Manhattan was awakened around 4:00 a.m. by explosions that sounded to him as though the Russians were bombing the City of New York. He got up and then knelt by his bedside to pray, thinking that the end was near.

The priest got up from prayer to look out of his window to see that a nearby building was on fire. Flames were shooting from the top of the building. The priest then got dressed to go out to see if he was needed to administer the sacraments to anyone who might have been injured in the explosions, which he learned at the scene had been caused by exploding propane tanks on the top of what turned out to be a building under construction and thus unoccupied. The tanks were being shot up into the air before landing in the East River. After finding that his brother Dominican priests were already on the scene and that no one had been injured, the priest returned to sleep for a few hours.

It was later in the evening of that day, at a time when it was pitch dark out and following a good deal of snow, that the priest, who was dressed in black, decided to walk a few blocks to another Dominican parish to go to confession to a priest there. The sidewalk was very slippery.

The priest, then in his thirty-third year of life, noticed as he was in the middle of crossing a street that a car was coming out of nowhere and turning the corner, heading directly at him at a good clip of speed. The street itself was very slippery. The priest believed that he was going to be killed, figuring that he would be hit by the car and thrown against the wall of a building across the street.

Instinctively, therefore, the priest reached out his arm to brace himself against the impact of the car. At the mere touch of his fingers on the car, however, the vehicle, which was moving rapidly, stopped without skidding on the snow and ice. The priest was stunned as he looked at the driver, who was also stunned. Shaken up by the event, the priest immediately returned to Saint Catherine of Siena Priory to go to confession there.

Bishop McKenna then stunned us when he asked us to join him in a prayer of thanksgiving to God for sparing his life fifty years ago on February 14, 1960, the Feast of Saint Valentine. Bishop McKenna said that he has been living on what he called "borrowed time" ever since.

Please join us in giving thanks to God that Bishop McKenna's life was spared fifty years ago. Despite the infirmities of age, His Excellency is an inspiration to us to get up early in the morning each day to get to Mass. If he, who was named Fidelis when he entered religious life as a Dominican, can be faithful to offering daily Mass, so can we! Thank the good Lord for Bishop Robert Fidelis McKenna, O.P.

Two brief Lenten reflections, The Royal Road to Victory and  From Dust Unto Dust, 2010, have been revised and republished prior to the beginning of Lent tomorrow, Ash Wednesday, Quadragesima, February 17, 2010.

We Work For Eternal Tenure

As one who spent over three decades as a college professor of political science in various universities and colleges around the nation, I can report that the only thing I disliked about my duties was the fact that I had to attend faculty meetings in those years that I had full-time teaching positions. I hated faculty meetings. I despised faculty meetings. I loathed faculty meetings. They were complete wastes of time, at least for the most part. Indeed, faculty members at one institution where I was teaching were discussing the same arcane things seven years after I had last taught there as they had been seven years previously. It is as though no time had passed whatsoever.

Be that as it was, I was never motivated to do anything other than to grit my teeth (I wasn't too terribly good back in the 1970s about offering things up) and perhaps even try to conceal laughter in the face of absurdity (as occurred on December 13, 1977, when one professor insisted upon planning the teaching schedule for the 2006-2007 academic year) until I learned how to offer things up more readily. I always recognized that my colleagues bore the Divine impress their immortal souls and that even those who considered themselves to be my ideological adversaries had been redeemed by the shedding of every single drop of the Most Precious Blood of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on the wood of the Holy Cross.

Without the Holy Faith, however, people will resort to all manner of naturalistic means to to avenge real or perceived injustices. The tragedy at the University of Alabama in Huntsville is what happens when people do not accept the Holy Will of God in their lives with equanimity and joy. All the more reason to pray for the conversion of men and their nations to the true Church, outside of which there is no salvation and without which there can be no true social order. Viva Cristo Rey! Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Valentine, pray for us.

Playing Into The Enemy's Hand

A new poll, commissioned by the Knights of Columbus and conducted by the Marist Institute for Public Opinion, contains vivid proof of the rotten fruit of conciliarism. The aging revolutionaries of the conciliar Vatican, men who keep congratulating themselves on the "success" of the "Second" Vatican Council, are oblivious to the fact that the lion's share of young Catholics today have no true knowledge of God as He has revealed Himself to us exclusively through His Catholic Church, thus possessing a welter of conflicting and contradictory views on Faith and Moral that, at least in some instances, mirrors those of those revolutionaries themselves. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Catherine de Ricci, O.P., pray for us.

Father Markus Ramolla has informed me that the St. Albert the Great website now has a PayPal feature to make it possible to make Mass requests online. Please do avail yourselves of this new feature to support Father Ramolla's priestly apostolate by having Holy Mass offered for the living and the dead. Father Ramolla will send stipends to other priests if the demand exceeds his ability to offer the Masses himself. I thank Father Ramolla for letting me know of this new feature on the St. Albert the Great website.

There should be a new article on this site tomorrow, Quinquagesima Sunday. More video presentations should follow in the coming week. There has been a tremendous demand for these videos. I thank the person who made this tremendous demand of me. (I hope some of you out there have got of sense of humor.)

February 11 Articles and Prayer Request

Republished: Penance! Penance! Penance! Pray to God for Sinners

Today is the one hundred fifty-second anniversary of the first apparition of Our Lady to Saint Bernadette Soubirous in the Grotto of Massabielle near Lourdes, France. Our Lady explained to the fourteen year-old Bernadette that we must do penance for our sins and for those of others. Can we do any less in our day?

Indeed, the state of our world day and all of the cataclysms facing it has worsened as the sins of men have grown more numerous and more daring and as most baptized Catholics have been deprived of access to Sanctifying Grace by virtue of the invalid sacraments offered in the counterfeit church of conciliarism. God is not going to permit a world where so many countries, including our own, permit the killing of the the innocent preborn with legal impunity and engages in the killing of souls in the name of the falsehoods of "freedom of speech" and "freedom of the press" and "freedom of religion" and a general sense of legal and cultural licentiousness to know long term material prosperity. We must indeed take Our Lady's injunction, "Penance! Penance! Penance! Pray to God for sinners," most seriously as we pray as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit. Lent is coming in but two weeks. We must prepare for Lenten penances by embrace a spirit of penance year-round. Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us. Saint Bernadette Soubirous, pray for us.

Madness Writ Large

Here is the new article that I promised you earlier today. It deals with Walter "Cardinal" Kasper's "search" for an "ecumenical" catechism that would be suitable for the counterfeit church of conciliarism's "partners" in the madness that is ecumenical "dialogue." There is really no need for such an "ecumenical catechism" as one already exists: the so-called Catechism of the Catholic Church. Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.

There is also a new Donations letter, the first one to be posted in six months. If we're not going to have a subscription-based website, good readers, we need your help to sustain ourselves. Please respond if you support the work of this site and have the means to make a non-tax-deductible financial gift. Thank you. (And, yes, I am aware that some of the page links on top of each page of this site no longer work the way they did before the failed experiment of making this site accessible on a subscription basis. I will try to employ the help of someone to remedy this problem 'ere long. Thanks for your patience.)

Finally, I ask your prayers for the repose of the soul of Mr. Michael Rega, the late father of Mr. Frank Rega, a Third Order Franciscan who is the author of Saint Francis and the Conversion of the Muslims (and other other articles, including an upcoming article on Dignitatis Humanae in Christian Order magazine.) Mr. Michael Rega was born in Brooklyn, New York, on July 17, 1916, and died at the age of ninety-three and one-half years old on Saturday, January 23, 2010. Please pray for and have Masses offered for the repose of Mr. Michael Rega's immortal soul. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Another new article should appear by tomorrow morning, Friday, February 12, 2010.

February 10 Article and Late Afternoon Update

Being "Great" On One's Own

What's this article about? Well, as seventy-seven percent of the few remaining people who access this site only stop by for a moment or two to see what is on this home page, all I am going to say about this brief article's content is to read it for yourself? How's that? Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Scholastica, pray for us. A blessed Feast of Saint Scholastica to every member of the family of the Order of Saint Benedict.

I have been able, at long last, to upload a .zip video file of the lecture that I attempted to post on this site five days ago. The lecture, Christus Rex Esto Perpetua.zip, takes thirty-five minutes to download. I have downloaded the file from the internet, discovering that it does indeed play out for its entire fifty-four minutes of length. I am, of course, a technological dunce. I apologize for my ineptitude in this regard.

Just Obey God

A new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine contains findings that brain-damaged human beings can be aware of their surroundings and can even engage in communications. As interesting as these findings are, they contain nothing new at all as medical professionals such as Dr. Lawrence Huntoon, whose evaluation on the autopsy conducted on the late Mrs. Theresa Marie Schindler-Schiavo is referenced in this article, have presented their own findings on the cognitive abilities of the brain-damaged a long time ago now. What we should keep in mind, however, is that no human being is ever to be denied food and water merely because they are brain-damaged. We must obey God's laws, which prohibit any and all direct actions that have as their only end the death of an innocent human being. Period. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Cyril of Alexandria, pray for us.

Raining On The Parade

They may be parading in New Orleans shortly. This article, which may be read by all of forty people by day's end, is a slight effort to rain on that parade as immodestly dressed "cheerleaders" "entertain" the crowds. "Party Gras"? Go tell that to Our Lady of Fatima, who told Jacinta Marto shortly before she died that certain fashions would be introduced that would offend her Divine Son very much. Anyone who does not see that we must not place ourselves voluntarily in situations where will be exposed needlessly to the occasion of sin is not thinking clearly as a disciple of Our Lord through His true Church. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. Saint Apollonia, pray for us.

Refusing to Reform

The multitudes have to wait no more! The eighty to one hundred people who have been, at least as of late, actually accessing individual articles have another article to read. This one deals with the continued defiance of the conciliar 'bishops" in the wake of the scandals that have cost so many their beliefs in the Holy Faith and have cost those who are as of yet attached to the conciliar structures over two billion dollars of their hard-earned contributions. It is clear these men, who defect from articles contained in the Deposit of Faith, have no intention of reforming even their administrative procedures as they seek to minimize offenses against the moral law and to intimidate whistle-blowers with the full weight of their "ecclesiastical" muscle. Sound familiar? Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint John Matha, pray for us.

As this current article deals with the unpleasantness of the scandals caused by the conciliar "bishops'" indifference to serious moral crimes, including a link to two articles dealing with such crimes, please take caution not to share this article with the young or with those who would prefer, most understandably and commendably, to refrain from reading such material.

There should be another article by tomorrow morning, February 9, 2010.

Finally, there is news about Michael Oswalt, the courageous young man who broke with the conciliar structures last year when he came to recognize that he was not, after all, a validly ordained priest of the Catholic Church. Mr. Oswalt has made his way to Mount Saint Michael's Church in Spokane, Washington, where he will study under Father Casimir Puskorius, CMRI, for his conditional ordination to the priesthood. Mr. Oswalt changed his plans during the summer, choosing to pursue his vocation to the priesthood with the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen. The failing health of his mother kept him from going to Spokane until last month. Those of you unfamiliar with the details of his remarkable story can read about it in Embracing The Faith No Matter the Consequences. Please pray for him as he undertakes his additional studies for a true priestly ordination.

Still Nothing New Under the Conciliar Sun

Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI has urged the Scottish conciliar "bishops" to be totally faithful to the magisterium of the Catholic Church. This is quite interesting coming from a man, Ratzinger/Benedict, who defects from the Faith on various points, having had to invent a condemned line of illogic (the hermeneutic of continuity and discontinuity) to justify those defections. How can a man who defects from the Faith in numerous ways, starting with the very nature of dogmatic truth itself, urge others to be faithful to that from which he himself dissents? No, there still nothing new under the conciliar sun. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Romuald, pray for us.

Revised: Still Nothing Super About the Super Bowl

Although there will be a pro-life advertisement at some point during tonight's telecast of Super Bowl XLIV featuring 2009 Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow (whose parents were "Christian missionaries" in The Philippines, meaning that they were working to take Catholics out of the true Church as The Philippines were evangelized about four hundred forty-five years ago now by Catholic missionaries from Spain), the first home-schooled student to win the award, of the University of Florida, there is still nothing super about the "super bowl." I know. Call me a killjoy. Call me whatever you want. Popularity and numbers are not what defines this poorly viewed site (relative to the millions upon millions of people in cyberspace).

No matter the Tim Tebow advertisement, which will be examined in an upcoming article on this site after it has been aired and uploaded for viewing on YouTube (no, I will not be watching "the game"), tonight's telecast will feature a display of immodesty and indecency that no believing Catholic should want to expose himself to on a voluntary basis. Seems to me to be a good night to say a few more Rosaries and to go to be early.

It is my hope to have another original article posted on this site by tomorrow at some point. There were many temporal difficulties last week that kept the number of original articles down to five in number (in addition to the video recorded on Friday that has been uploaded to the Christ or Chaos Store). I will try to do better this week in the hope that the bout of illness that has laid me pretty low in the last few days will, in God's Holy Providence and by means of Our Lady's prayers, subside to increase my productivity.

There are several prayer intentions that I have been made known to me in the last few days. One of these concerns Mr. Matthew D. Hardin, who converted to the Faith on August 6, 2008, the Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and who will turn twenty years of age this year. Mr. Hardin, who was good enough to move our stored belongings from Ohio to Connecticut three weeks ago now, has been diagnosed with non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver, a condition with which he may have to live for the rest of his life. Please pray for Mr. Hardin, upon whom Our Lady has bestowed many remarkable graces to remain steadfast in the Faith despite all of the problems of the past few months, and his family at this time.

Finally, it is to keep a permanent record of those problems, which involve, of course, the abuse of clerical authority, accessible now and in the future that Father Markus Ramolla has, upon the pleadings made by some of the faithful who have found in the Confraternity of Saint Albert the Great a refuge from that abuse of clerical authority at Saint Gertrude the Great Church, decided to keep the SGG Info website open, serving principally as a reference resource while concentrating on the apostolate that was begun following the injustices visited upon him three months ago now.

I am glad that this is the case as the information, particularly that found in Part 6 of the editors' response to "School Dazed," provides important documentation of a pattern of abuse of clerical authority and misrepresentations and conflated stories that had gone on for far too long.

It will, of course, continue to be my own policy to refrain from responding to any and all attacks made upon me, entrusting all to Our Lord through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, knowing that the more we are humiliated and rejected and castigated and scorned in this life is the more that we can die to self and be more perfectly united with the Cross of Our Divine Redeemer. Everything else gets revealed on the Last Day at the General Judgment of the Living and the Dead!

The enemies of the Faith in the conciliar church and in the world-at-large are working overtime these days. We must concentrate on opposing them as we pray for their conversion, conscious, as always, of our own need to make reparation for our own many sins, especially by praying as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit.

A blessed Sexagesima Sunday to you all.

February 5 Article and Late Night Update

Religious "Liberty" Even For The Adversary

Some people have expressed "shock" that officials of the United States Air Force Academy have provided "worship" space for practitioners of rank paganism. This is nothing new, however. Witchcraft has been recognized as a "religion" by the United States Department of Defense since 1975. There are five pages devoted to its beliefs and practices in a military chaplains' handbook printed by the United States Army with our taxpayer dollars. Such must be the case in a nation that is founded on false, naturalistic, anti-Incarnational, religiously indifferentist, and semi-Pelagian principles. Such must be the case especially when the conciliar "pontiffs" have visit various temples of the devil, esteemed the symbols dedicated to him, and reaffirmed adherents of false religions in their false beliefs. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Agatha, pray for us.

Late night update: Well, there was a link to a free video presentation in this space yesterday. As happened in God's Holy Providence, however, the first effort to upload the video resulted in all of six of fifty-four minutes being uploaded. The second effort resulted in forty-nine of fifty-four minutes being uploaded. As this has eaten into my time considerably, I am uploading the new video, "We Must Stand for Christ the King," to the Christ or Chaos Store site, where you may purchase it for one dollar.

While I'd like to have been doing other things with my time than dealing with the upload, everything we do and suffer, if it is offered up to God with a pure intention through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, redounds to the greater honor and glory of God and our sanctification and salvation. Even time lost dealing with computer problems that delays various projects is meant to glorify God and to sanctify our souls. All to thee,  Blessed Mother. All to thy Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, we love you. Save souls!

This presentation, which runs a remarkably short fifty-four minutes (yes, my tongue is indeed in my cheek), is simply a reminder that the petty tyrants of Modernity are but the logical consequence of the overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King wrought by the Protestant Revolt and institutionalized by the inter-related, naturalistic forces of Judeo-Masonry. There is nothing new in this presentation. It is simply a new presentation of my apologia in behalf of the restoration of the Social Reign of Christ the King. Viva Cristo Rey!

As a result of this delay, however, look for the next written article on Sexagesima Sunday.

As We Get Back to Basics

Although the video presentation that was recorded on January 21, 2010, and posted a week ago today when this site was, well, at least for a few moments, accessible on a subscription basis only (and is now available at Christ or Chaos Store), was meant to be my last statement on the events of the last three months that have divided some Catholics very bitterly, this postscript is being published now that Part 6 of the refutation of Father Anthony Cekada's "School Dazed" has been posted on the SGG Info website.

As Father Ramolla noted on the home page of the SGG Info website, we need to get about the business of sanctifying and saving our immortal souls, mindful of our obligation to pray for those from whom the circumstances of the moment have estranged us, conscious always of our need to make reparation for our own many sins by offering up everything we do and everything that we are called in God's Providence to suffer with joy and gratitude in reparation for our sins and those of the whole world, entrusting all to God Himself through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Andrew Corsini, pray for us.

My next video presentation will be posted by tomorrow morning. It has been delayed by the lack of suitable venue for its recording. However, I hope to be able to record the video this evening and post it by tomorrow morning.

Sanctioning Apostasy With Sanctimony

The leader of the "Traditional Anglican Communion," "Bishop" David Hepworth, has submitted a petition to the officials of the counterfeit church of conciliarism to respond to Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI's Anglicanorum Coetibus. "Bishop" Hepworth's explanation of his petition, which has taken the form of a "pastoral letter" to the members of his false sect, contains some very interesting revelations, including the fact that officials in the conciliar Vatican urged him in 1992 to seek true holy orders from the heretical and schismatic Polish National Catholic Church in order to "preserve" Anglican "tradition." Got that? Read the article for the rest. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Blase, pray for us.

I ask you to remember in your prayers today the repose of the immortal soul of Sharon's late father, Mr. John Griffith Collins III, who died three years ago this morning at Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Finally, there are many former friends of mine who would rather die than to have their names mentioned even favorably on this site, something that I respect very much. It is with this in mind that I pass along fifty-ninth birthday greetings to a traditionally-minded former colleague in the conciliar structures with whom I collaborated for about five years. This individual, who has suffered much in the conciliar structures for his criticism of the Novus Ordo, is remembered in our prayers daily.

Republished: The Sword of Sorrow

Today is the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, always the humble handmaid of the Lord who humbled herself this day by submitting to the rituals of the law although she was not in need of such a ritualistic purification because of her Perpetual Virginity. This is the day that Our Lady presented her Divine Son, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, in the same Temple where He would be found twelve years later answering questions of the rabbis, the same Temple whose curtain would be torn in two from top to bottom as He breathed His last on the wood of the Holy Cross to redeem us, thereby signifying the permanent end of the Old Covenant and the supersession of Judaism by Catholicism as the true religion.

The aged Simeon, who waited patiently every day in the Temple for the fulfillment of the promise that God had made to him, that he would not die before his eyes had seen and his arms had beheld the Messiah, sent the first Sword of Sorrow plunging through Our Lady's Sorrowful and and Immaculate Heart when he prophesied that the Child he beheld would be destined for the rise and for the fall of man, a sign to be opposed, a Sign of Contradiction.

We must never fear to be signs of contradiction in our own lives in imitation of the THE Sign of Contradiction, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, as He hung on the wood of the Holy Cross to redeem us as he was mocked and reviled by the very people from whose stock He had taken His Sacred Humanity. We must be willing to suffer all manner of calumny and humiliation for the many times that we have preferred human respect to fidelity to Our Lord, for the many times we have refused to call upon Our Lady's maternal intercession, for the many times we have refused to "take sides," especially in our day by refusing to reject conciliarism and its ravenous wolves once and for all. Our Lady, Help of Christians, pray for us! Saint Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church and Protector of the Faithful, pray for us.

Stage Left From The Very Beginning

Why should we be surprised that some of the officials who worked in the United States Conference of "Catholic Bishops" are associated with organizations that support baby-killing and perversity. Many of the American bishops of yore were part of "stage left" from the very beginning. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

I am seeking a venue to record my next video, the one that is a commentary on Obama's State of the Union message last week. I do want to make it clear that no matter where my videos are recorded, the comments made are mine and mine alone. They do not reflect or indicate support from anyone associated with any of the venues where the videos are recorded. The next video will be about forty-five minutes in length. The last one was sixty-one minutes in length.

Doing What Is Forbidden by Conciliarism

Although the hour is a late one, I do want to post this brief reflection that contrasts Saint John Bosco's zeal to seek the conversion of souls to the true Faith--and to bring back the lost sheep into the fold--with conciliarism's refusal to seek such with urgency the unconditional conversion of non-Catholics to the true Church, outside of which there is no salvation and without which there can be no true social order. Our Lady, Help of Christians, pray for us. Saint John Bosco, pray for us.

Lost In Space

Although I intend to prepare a video response to Barack Hussein Obama's absurd "State of the Union" address that was delivered on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, this brief article is simply a reminder to the readers of this site that we must keep focused at all times on root causes. Caesar Obamus is but a symptom of the problems we face that stem from the consequences of the overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King wrought by the Protestant Revolt and the rise of the forces of naturalism represented by Judeo-Masonry. Never lose sight of that fact. Never lose sight of the fact that God is more powerful that Barack Hussein Obama, that the weapon of Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary has vanquished or converted enemies of Christ the King such as Obama in the past. Pray your Rosary. Make no concessions to naturalism in the world or to conciliarism's "reconciliation" with the "new principles inaugurated in 1789." Remember that Catholicism is the one and only foundation of personal and social order. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Martina, pray for us.

Prayers have been requested for three people who have died recently, two of whom died just yesterday on the Feast of Saint Francis de Sales (who taught us that those who pray for the Poor Souls discharge all of their Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy, something that I am counting on very much as devotion to the Poor Souls is very near and dear to my heart).

Please pray for the repose of the souls of Sister Mary Francisca, CMRI, who died suddenly yesterday in Florida of an apparent heart attack, and of Mr. Danny Delawder, the brother of Mrs. Debbie Wilker (a member of the Confraternity of Saint Albert the Great in West Chester, Ohio), who also died of a heart attack yesterday morning. We express our condolences to the religious and personal family of Sister Mary Francisca and to the family of Mr. Delawder.

I also ask your prayers for the repose of the soul of Mrs. Ann Spearman, the longtime secretary to His Excellency Bishop Mark A. Pivarunas, who died earlier this month in Omaha, Nebraska. We learned only a few days ago of Mrs. Spearman's death. We knew her well and always enjoyed visiting with her. One of her daughters is Sister Mary Alphonsus. We offer our condolences to Mrs. Spearman's family and to Bishop Pivarunas and the parishioners of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church and students of Mater Dei Academy and the seminarians of Mater Dei Seminary.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Even though we are driving about two hundred miles round trip today to visit Sharon's mother in a rehabilitation center near Kingston, New York, I should have another (and free!) article for the great multitudes in cyberspace by tomorrow morning. Please continue to pray from Mrs. Claire Collins as she begins her three weeks of rehabilitation therapy to help her recover from the broken leg she suffered in an automobile accident on Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Thank you.

January 29 Update

Welcome back to Christ or Chaos as a free website!

I am very much indebted to the gentleman who worked for four months to revamp this site. Unfortunately, however, the amount of time necessary to format articles by paying attention to various internal codes ate into my ability to write and publish. Although I do need to generate income to support my family, some readers have noted to me that we should continue to trust in Our Lady to sustain us as we have in the past, that my articles should be made available to the general public. Thus it is that we have returned the site to the way it was on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, updating it with the addition of the two articles written since that time.

Those of you who have subscribed to the site will be offered a full refund of your subscription monies. I will try to find some way to make it possible for those who have subscribed to have free access to the video presentations that will be uploaded to the Christ or Chaos Store store site. The video, which dealt with some of the events of the past two and one-half months, that was uploaded yesterday to this site is now available for purchase on the store site for those who did not subscribe. I will continue to offer videos for sale via the Store site. It is still my intention to do one or two videos per week.

Well, welcome back. There will be a new article by tomorrow morning now that I can resume writing in the program that permits this software dunce to write and publish without worrying about internal codes.

We must still rely on the non-tax-deductible donations of those who support the work of this site and have the means to do so. All to thee, Blessed Mother. All to thy Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, we love you. Save souls!

Still In Defiance of the Truth

This article is about Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI's continued attacks on the integrity of the Holy Faith by means of promoting the lies of false ecumenism that began to be promoted in a Protestant conference in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1910 (I don't think that he'll be praising the one hundredth anniversary of Pope Saint Pius X's Notre Charge Apostolique on August 15, 1910, or the centenary of the promulgation of The Oath Against Modernism on September 1, 1910). Ratzinger/Benedict continues to insist that there are "core beliefs" that can unite Catholics and non-Catholic Christians to combat secularism. "Core beliefs"? The false "pontiff" is directly in defiance of the perennial teaching of the Catholic Church.

January 27 Article

Only Those Nasty Traditionalists

This new article is yet another reminder that Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI believes in a "new ecclesiology" that has been condemned by the authority of the Catholic Church and that reaffirms adherents of false religions in their false beliefs unto the moment of their deaths. We can provide no manner of approval to this apostasy. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint John Chrysostom, pray for us.

January 26 Article and Late Evening Update

Red Carpet For A Modernist

Yes, another free article. Guess who's coming back to the United States of America in thirty-six days as the red carpet is rolled out for him? None other than William "Cardinal" Levada, the prefect of the conciliar Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, a man whose Modernist view of dogmatic truth mirrors exactly that of Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Polycarp, pray for us.

There should be another article tomorrow, the Feast of Saint John Chrysostom.

Late evening update: The revamped website will be launched tomorrow morning, Wednesday, January 27, 2009, at 1:00 a.m., Eastern time. Although I have a lot of things to learn to master the new site, the gentleman who has spent four months on the project of revamping it will upload articles for me until I am able to overcome my technological denseness, which I hope won't take too long. There will be a new article ready for publication by tomorrow at some point. I will also be uploading a video presentation once I am "up and running" with the revamped site.

Please bear with me as the changeover is made.

January 25 Article

Not Pro-Abortion?

Another day, another free article. I need a few more days of tutorials to make sure that there are no glitches once this site becomes subscription-based. Keep checking.

Oh, this article? A rejoinder to those Catholics who contend that Barack Hussein Obama is not pro-abortion.

Check back tomorrow for yet another article. Saint Paul the Apostle, pray for us.

Please check the SGG Info website for parts three and four of the editors' refutation of "School Dazed."

Late January 24 Update

Although I am in need of a tutorial as to the ins and outs of the the revamped website, the hard-working reader of this site who has spent four months revamping it informs me that the switch over to the new format will occur around Midnight, Eastern time, tomorrow morning, that is to say in a few hours from now.

As readers of this site are aware, I have tried everything imaginable to keep access to this site free of charge in the nearly six years since it was launched. We have been the beneficiaries of many non-tax-deductible financial gifts over the years from readers with large means and virtually no means. Their generosity has sustained us in very difficult times.

There is, however, a need to stabilize our situation with regular, predictable income. It is this need that prompted me in September to contact the individual who has now redesigned the site to start the process of turning this site into a subscription-based operation. The details will be provided on the revamped site. Suffice it to say for present purposes that monthly access to this site will cost $2.50. The process of registering will be, I am told, user friendly, although there could be some unforeseen glitches.

A new article has been prepared for posting tomorrow. I will also do more video presentations on the revamped site. It is my expectation that there will be two to three articles a week and two video presentations a week. As many of the articles on this site have been repetitive because the nature of the problems in the world and in the counterfeit church of conciliarism are repetitive, I look forward to providing a fresh approach by means of the video presentations.

It is my hope that longtime readers of this site will understand that the switch over to a subscription-based site was made as a last resort. Please know of our prayers. Sincerely yours in Christ the King and Mary our Immaculate Queen, Thomas A. Droleskey.

Thirty-Seven Years of Indifference

Many speeches will be given today as several hundred thousands of Americans gather on the Capitol Mall and Seventh Street in Washington, District of Columbia, at the rally that precedes the annual March for Life. Not one of these speakers will defend the Social Reign of Christ the King. Not one of these speakers will urge people to pray and to work for the conversion of all men and nations to the Catholic Faith, outside of which there is no salvation and without which there can be no true social order. The pro-abortion administration of Barack Hussein Obama and Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., will be rightly excoriated. Alas, each of the speakers addressing the hundreds of thousands of Americans gathered on the Capitol Mall will fail to address the principal, proximate reason why over thousand innocent babies will be killed today as they were killed yesterday and as they will be killed tomorrow: the overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King wrought by the Protestant Revolt and institutionalized by the forces of Judeo-Masonry with which the counterfeit church of conciliarism has made its "reconciliation." Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us. Saints Vincent and Anastasius, pray for us.

Although this article contains material from past reflections on this subject, there have been substantial new additions for today's posting. This article also contains a link to an important study about the connection between Catholic Relief Services and pro-abortion funding groups that was completed by Mrs. Randy Engel.

Getting Bolder In His Apostasy

Fresh from his apostasies at the Talmudic synagogue in Rome, Italy, on Sunday, January 17, 2010, Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI has renewed his zeal to false ecumenism with Protestants and the Orthodox, citing as the impetus for the modern "ecumenical" movement a meeting of Protestants that took place in Edinburgh, Scotland, from June 14 to June 23, 1910. Takes one to know one. This article contains a link to a Spiritual Resource: Prayers for the Church Unity Octave, that was provided to me by Father Francis Miller, O.F.M.

Finally, the second part of the SGG Info website refutation of Father Anthony Cekada's "School Dazed" article has been published. We have enjoyed our visits with Father Markus Ramolla here in Connecticut the past few days. Please pray for his safe return to Ohio today.

January 20 Article and Updates

We Still Wait For Christ the King

A lot of naturalists of the "right" are jumping up and down for joy after the unexpected election of Scott Brown to the United States Senate seat from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that was held by the late United States Senator Edward Moore Kennedy from November 7, 1962, to August 25, 2009. Why all the joy? Kennedy's former senate seat is still held by a man who supports baby-killing under cover of the civil law as a matter of principle. Why all the joy? Oh, ObamaCare is going to be stopped? Cap-and-trade is going to be stopped? Economic "stimulus" monies may be stopped? Citizen anger, especially among unaffiliated voters, might temper Caesar Obamus? Perhaps yes, perhaps no.

None of this really matters, however, if we keep defining political "moderation" in terms of which pro-abort candidate for public office is more acceptable than another pro-abort candidate for public office. Those who believe that the victory of any pro-abort is a victory for the cause of "limited" government and the "betterment" of the nation ought to consider these words of Silvio Cardinal Antoniano in the Sixteenth Century:

The more closely the temporal power of a nation aligns itself with the spiritual, and the more it fosters and promotes the latter, by so much the more it contributes to the conservation of the commonwealth. For it is the aim of the ecclesiastical authority by the use of spiritual means, to form good Christians in accordance with its own particular end and object; and in doing this it helps at the same time to form good citizens, and prepares them to meet their obligations as members of a civil society. This follows of necessity because in the City of God, the Holy Roman Catholic Church, a good citizen and an upright man are absolutely one and the same thing. How grave therefore is the error of those who separate things so closely united, and who think that they can produce good citizens by ways and methods other than those which make for the formation of good Christians. For, let human prudence say what it likes and reason as it pleases, it is impossible to produce true temporal peace and tranquillity by things repugnant or opposed to the peace and happiness of eternity. (Silvio Cardinal Antoniano, quoted by Pope Pius XI in Divini Illius Magistri, December 31, 1929.)

The policy failures of the statist George Walker Bush helped to make possible the election of the statist Barack Hussein Obama, whose own policy failures and statist overreach helped to make possible the election of Scott Brown. And babies continue will continue to be killed today by chemical and surgical means in the numbers that they were killed yesterday. Why all the joy? Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saints Fabian and Sebastian, pray for us.

Updates: About one hundred readers of this site received a notice earlier today that was sent out by the gentleman who has done much hard work in the past four months in revamping this website, the first set of changes that have taken place since the site went online on February 20, 2004. The information provided to the readers, most of whom have been regular supporters of this site, will make it possible for them to access this site after the website changes are implemented this Monday, January 25, 2010. Others of you who desire to continue to access this site will have to register as subscribers once the changes go into effect. I will have more information on these changes in a few days. I did, however, want to explain the reason for the note that was sent out earlier today.

January 19 Article and Prayer Request

Pressing the Mute Button

Where is the outrage from Catholics over Ratzinger/Benedict's acts of apostasy in the Rome synagogue two days ago? Sadly, most Catholics have pressed the "mute" button on themselves, preferring silence rather than to rise in defense of the honor and majesty and glory of the Most Blessed Trinity and His Deposit of Faith. We must pray never to become accustomed to such apostasy ourselves. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Marius and Companions, pray for us. Saint Canute, King of Denmark, pray for us.

Tomorrow's article will be a review of Caesar Obamus's first year in office as the currently governing naturalist of the "left," building on the statism of the naturalist of the "right" who had preceded him. Thursday's article will discuss the relationship between Catholic Relief Services and pro-abortion agencies. Friday's article will be another commentary on the consequences of the overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King wrought by the Protestant Revolt that include the daily slaughter of the preborn by chemical and surgical means.

Prayer Request: Please do pray today for His Excellency Bishop Robert F. McKenna, O.P., who is undergoing carpal tunnel surgery on his left wrist today. Bishop McKenna plans on offering Holy Mass on the Feast of Saint Agnes, Thursday, January 21, 2010, which is the thirty-seventh anniversary of the opening of Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel.

Father Markus Ramolla is here in Connecticut at this time to offer Holy Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel as Bishop McKenna is recovering from surgery. It was good to see Father Ramolla offer Holy Mass this morning.

There is, as per usual, additional useful information on the SGG Info website, including the first part of a formal response by the editors of that website to Father Anthony Cekada's "School Dazed" article.

January 18 Article

Saint Peter and Anti-Peter

Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI visited the Talmudic synagogue in Rome yesterday. Although there is much familiar material in this commentary, it is a new composition that reviews the false "pontiff's" address, which was filled with the usual conciliar apostasies. May God have mercy on us all. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saints Peter and Paul, pray for us. Saint Prisca, pray for us.

There should be another new article tomorrow, January 19, 2010. There will be some changes to this website effective next Monday, January 25, 2010. I will inform you of these later this week. There should be an article about the relationship between Catholic Relief Services and pro-abortion organizations and one on the thirty-seventh anniversary of the decisions of the Supreme Court of the United States of America in the cases of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton.

January 15 Article

Expecting from "The Bishops" What is Not Forthcoming from "The Pope"

Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI will visit yet another synagogue in two days, once again violating the First and Second Commandments as he does so. Those Catholics attached to the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism who excoriate the "bad bishops" for refusing to defend the inviolability of innocent human life do not realize that their real problem is "the pope" who offends God and thus makes it all the more possible for violations of the Fifth Commandment to take place. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. Saint Paul the Hermit, pray for us. Saint Maurus the Abbot, pray for us.

There are additional prayer intentions: one is for a a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Norwood, Ohio, Mr. Tom Vuksta, who has been hospitalized recently. Another is for the repose of the soul of a parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Spokane, Washington, Mrs. Marge Prestini, who died at the age of eighty-nine on Monday, January 11, 2010. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. (I thank the readers who have informed me of these prayer intentions.)

The next article on this site may not appear until Sunday, January 17, 2010. We are still in the midst of some travels. There was an article posted late yesterday afternoon. See below.

Father Markus Ramolla has informed me of photographs of the first Catechism Class for the Confraternity of Saint Albert the Great. The work for souls continues!

Finally, Sharon's mother had surgery on her broken leg yesterday. She will have to undergo extensive physical therapy. Please continue to pray for her at this time. Thank you.

January 14 Article

Secularity Is Always Negative

As promised late last evening, here is another new article, although one that deals with familiar themes of Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI's betrayal of the Social Reign of Christ the King in favor of the oxymoronic "healthy" or "positive" secularity of the modern civil state, which is founded in one false, naturalistic, anti-Incarnational principle after another. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

There should be a new article posted by tomorrow morning. I will have more prayer updates at that time. For the moment, however, I have been asked to pass on a request for prayers for an infant named Isaiah May, who is to be executed on January 20, 2010, as so-called physicians remove his ventilator. There will be more on this breaking story in the next few days. And we wonder why there are so many natural cataclysms when we live in the midst of such moral cataclysms?

Late January 13 Update

Although I had hoped to have another new article ready for publication by tomorrow morning, the toll of a long three days on the road demands that that article wait until tomorrow afternoon or Friday morning. In the meantime, however, please do read another excellent article by Mr. Timothy Duff, An Anonymous Letter, on the SGG Info website.

News reached me just a short while ago this evening that Mrs. Ada Federspiel, the matriarch of a prominent family of traditional Catholics in the Cincinnati, Ohio, area, died today. Mrs. Federspiel, who was over ninety years of age, had, if my memory serves me correctly, fifteen children. She and her late husband made many sacrifices in the late-1960s and early-1970s to find priests in the underground who were offering the Immemorial Mass of Tradition. One of Mrs. Federspiel's beautiful and moving poems recounted the story of how her family drove over 300 miles one Christmas to go to a true offering of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

We had the privilege of meeting Mrs. Federspiel on a number of occasions between 2006 and 2008. She was a valiant defender of the Catholic Faith, a dignified Catholic lady who used every moment that God gave her to try to bring souls into the true Church, including trying convince an elderly priest at the assisted living facility where she lived that the Novus Ordo was invalid and offensive to God. Mrs. Federspiel was a longtime and very devout parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Norwood, Ohio. We offer our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to her family, assuring them of our prayers for them and for the repose of their mother and grandmother's and great-grandmother's immortal soul. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Also, please remember in your prayers the immortal soul of another parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, Mr. Ray Ventura, who has died. Mr. Ventura, I am informed, was a member of Saint Matthew's Church in Norwood, Ohio, which was, much to the chagrin of the now-retired conciliar "archbishop" of Cincinnati, Daniel Pilarczyk, sold to the Society of Saint Pius V, whereupon it become Immaculate Conception Church. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

We have our own special intention to ask you to remember: Sharon's mother, Mrs. Claire Collins, who will turn eighty-two years of age next month, was badly injured in an automobile accident in the Catskills in upstate New York yesterday, Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Mrs. Collins's right leg was broken in half and separated, as I understand it, almost entirely from the knee. Please pray for her full recovery (and, more importantly, for her return to the Faith).

Finally, we need to pray for the dead and the injured in the catastrophic earthquake that hit Haiti yesterday. This is not the time for a commentary on the evils that many Haitians practice that arouse demons galore. There will be time in the future for such a commentary. For the moment, however, we need to pray to Our Lady for the souls of the dead and for the well-being of the survivors and those who are making efforts to assist them.

This disaster is, of course, a reminder to each of us that death is very near. We must be prepared at all times for death, especially by making our Act of Contrition in the morning upon arising and at night before going to sleep, making it a practice to recite this prayer whenever we sense some kind of mortal danger (reckless drivers on the roadway, the threat of an impending heart attack or strokes, at the report of an oncoming storm carrying life-threatening conditions). We do not know when the Master is going to come for us. He comes very frequently as a thief in the night. We must be prepared at all times.

Check back tomorrow afternoon for the next article.

No Honor Among Naturalists And Other Thieves

Time is at a premium right now. This article is yet another reminder that those who do not seek to pursue the common temporal good in light of man's Last End and in accord with the binding precepts of the Divine Positive Law and the Natural Law as these have been entrusted to the infallible authority of the Catholic Church will give us nothing other than--guess what--naturalism! Golly gee willickers, Mister Peabody, who would have ever thought of that? Oh, where was I? Yes, yes, I remember. Not only will naturalists give us nothing other than naturalism, they will wind up attacking each other as they plot how to acquire more power and prestige. The way out of this? The Holy Rosary and Our Lady's Fatima Message. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

The next article on this site will not appear until Thursday, January 14, 2010, at the earliest. The vast multitudes in cyberspace may have to wait until Friday, January 15, 2010. Keep checking. And I must once again beg the indulgence of correspondents as I am unable to respond to e-mails until late this week. Thank you.

With Perfection Staring Directly At Them

With the perfection of the Immemorial Mass of Tradition as it stood through the century in all of its pristine beauty and glory before Fathers Annibale Bugnini and Ferdinando Antontelli got their hands on the liturgy in the 1950s staring at them right in the face, today's conciliar revolutionaries still cannot admit that there is no need to "reform" a "liturgical renewal" that was in and of itself a revolution against the Catholic Faith, that the Novus Ordo worship service that is so offensive to God must be abandoned once and for all.

No, today's conciliar revolutionaries, including Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI and his master of ceremonies, "Monsignor" Guido Marini, insist that there has been "continuity" between Catholic Tradition and the Novus Ordo, a "continuity" that can be "recovered" by means of a "reform of the reform." There's only one slight, small, teeny-weeny problem with this positivistic assertion: the men who planned and implemented the Protestant and Masonic Novus Ordo worship service meant full well to make a break with Catholic Tradition. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

There should be a new article tomorrow, Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at which point there might be a gap of two days or so until the next original article appears. Also, be advised that it may be impossible for me to respond to e-mails in the next few days. I ask for your patience. Thank you.

Revised: From Nazareth We Come, In Nazareth We Must Live

Today, the Sunday within the Octave of the Epiphany, is the Feast of the Holy Family of Nazareth.

Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ chose to become Man in His Most Blessed Mother's Virginal and Immaculate Womb by the power of the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity, God the Holy Ghost, and place Himself, the Co-Equal and Co-Eternal Son of God the Father, under subjection to mere creatures His Most Blessed Mother, the fairest flower of our race, and to Good Saint Joseph, his foster-father. The subjection of the God-Man to the authority of His Most Blessed Mother and his foster-father, whom He had chosen from all eternity to provide Him with the earthly love and care and stewardship of a father seeking only to please God with his every thought, word an deed, teaches us that we, who came from families and who, in many instances, are raising families of our own, must be subject to all legitimate authority, duly constituted, in all things that do not pertain to sinful commands.

Children are supposed to learn this subjection in the household from their tenderest days, seeing in their fathers the image of Saint Joseph and in their mothers the image of Our Lady. Children are supposed to realize that God in the very Flesh obeyed His creatures in the Holy Family of Nazareth. So must they.

Parents must, for their part, foster an atmosphere within the family of selflessness, charity, forgiveness and joy, centering the family's life on daily assistance at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass (if at all possible), regular time spent in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, the daily recitation of Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary, supplications to Our Lady's Most Chaste Spouse, Saint Joseph, home enthronement to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Total Consecration to Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the same Immaculate Heart of Mary, Scriptural reading and family reading time, especially about the lives of the saints, and a refusal to participate in the rot of popular culture. This requires sacrifice and the willingness to be misunderstood, calumniated and rejected even by one's own family members as we protect our children from those cultural currents that come from the devil and are designed to lead each of us to Hell for all eternity.

To eschew worldliness one must be ready to embrace the Holy Poverty of the Holy Family of Nazareth, detaching oneself from the material acquisitiveness of our consumer society, shaped by Judeo-Calvinist materialism, and to live in light of First Things and Last Things as we week to acquire the only thing that matters: Sanctifying Grace in this life and eternal life in the glory of the Beatific Vision of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost in Heaven.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, we love you, save souls!

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, pray for us now and in death's agony.

Knowing His Enemy Very Well

Our adversary, the devil, knows that his enemy is the Cross of Divine Redeemer, which is why he seeks to attack It at every turn. He has used various social revolutionaries to do this in recent centuries. He has used the conciliar revolutionaries to do this as well. Indeed, one of the supreme ironies of the attack on the Crucifix in a Catholic cemetery in Hanoi, the capital city of Communist Vietnam, is that many conciliar revolutionaries have removed crucifixes voluntarily from their own parishes and schools and colleges and universities. The errors of Russia keep spreading as some traditional venues maintain that there is no need to have prayers after Low Mass. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us!

There is another excellent editorial, "Defining Decency Down," on the SGG Info website that I recommend most heartily for your review.

A blessed Feast of the Holy Family of Nazareth to you all.

Just A Matter of Forgiveness?

Taking the same tack that some have with respect to recent scandals that have, most unfortunately, demanded a bit of attention on this site in the past two months, conciliar revolutionaries plead for "forgiveness" for their own problem children, such as the former conciliar "archbishop" of Milwaukee, Rembert G. Weakland, O.S.B., as these destroyers of souls are permitted to retain their "good standing" in the conciliar structures. Indeed, Rembert Weakland, whose endless warfare against the Catholic Faith was chronicled in Weak In Mind, Weakest Yet In Faith, is being permitted to speak from the pulpit of the wreckovated Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this coming Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Just a matter of forgiveness? Decide for yourselves. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

There will be another new article published on this site tomorrow, the Feast of the Holy Family, in addition to a republished article about the feast itself.

Refusing Any Semblance of Mercy (or Justice)

Still defending his decision to invite the pro-abort, Marxist-trained Barack Hussein Obama to deliver the commencement address on May 17, 2009, at the University of Notre Dame du Lac in Notre Dame, Indiana, "Father" John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., is refusing to show any mercy--no less justice!--to the "Notre Dame 88" who were arrested for carrying signs against baby-killing and/or praying the Rosary or carrying images of Our Lady as the nation's leading supporter of surgical and chemical baby-killing spoke to the adoring multitudes on the campus where I arrived to commence my graduate studies on January 11, 1973, and where I received my Master's degree on January 10, 1974. Our Lady does NOT honor honor pro-aborts, and "Father" Jenkins had better realize that the Mother of God, she who made possible the Incarnation of the Second Person of the Most Blessed Trinity in her Virginal and Immaculate Womb by the power of God the Holy Ghost when she gave her Fiat to the will of God the Father at the Annunciation, will not honor those who honor pro-aborts, no less subject defenders of truth to persecution and injustice. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Signs of Apostasy Abound

The counterfeit church of conciliarism's accommodations to the prevailing, naturalistic, anti-Incarnational, religiously indifferentist and semi-Pelagian principles of Modernity have produced a bifurcation wherein it is not at all uncommon to find "conservative" conciliarists battling "liberal" conciliarists on matters of Faith and Morals. This is the case in the Archdiocese of San Francisco, California, as "conservative" watchdog groups expose the relationship between the so-called "Catholic Campaign for Human Development" and the funding of groups that support and/or provide for the killing of innocent preborn babies by chemical or surgical means.

Could you imagine Pope Saint Pius X remaining silent about such outrages? Ah, of course, he would have recognized apostasy. The head of the counterfeit church of conciliarism, Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, is diffident in the face of the funding of the killing of the preborn. Then again, he offends God by esteeming the symbols of false religions with his own priestly hands. It's pretty easy to be nonchalant about one of your "archbishops" permitting the funding of pro-abortion group when you offend God mortally by giving public respect and esteem to false religions in full violation of the First and Second Commandments. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Please do check the informative material on the SGG Info website. Excellent and to-the-point editorials are published on the home page frequently. And there is a particularly good letter written by a former seminarian a Most Holy Trinity Seminary that summarizes the situation at Saint Gertrude the Great Church very well. It is in the SHORTS section of Vox Populi.

Manifesting Christ the King At All Times

Our Lord was made manifest on Christmas Day to the handful of Jewish people, including the shepherds in the field who were sent to adore Him by the angels who had announced the following:

And there were in the same country shepherds watching, and keeping the night watches over their flock. And behold an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the brightness of God shone round about them; and they feared with a great fear. And the angel said to them: Fear not; for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, that shall be to all the people:

For, this day, is born to you a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord, in the city of David. And this shall be a sign unto you. You shall find the infant wrapped in swaddling clothes, and laid in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army, praising God, and saying: Glory to God in the highest; and on earth peace to men of good will. And it came to pass, after the angels departed from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another: Let us go over to Bethlehem, and let us see this word that is come to pass, which the Lord hath shewed to us.

And they came with haste; and they found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger. And seeing, they understood of the word that had been spoken to them concerning this child. And all that heard, wondered; and at those things that were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these words, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God, for all the things they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. (Luke 2: 6-20.)

Today's feast, the Feast of the Epiphany of Our Lord, known colloquially in Ireland as "Little Christmas" and in many other places as Three Kings' Day, celebrates Our Lord's manifestation to the whole world through the Gentiles. Indeed, the Offertory for today's Mass explains that all kings shall adore Christ King and that all nations shall serve Him:

The kings of Tharsis and the islands shall offer presents: the kings of the Arabians and of Saba shall bring gifts: and all kings of the earth shall adore Him: all nations shall serve Him.

The United States of America is no exception to this. We must pray for the day when the leaders of this country, founded on the falsehoods of Protestantism and Judeo-Masonry that are so hateful to Our King, will adore Him as their King and the day when this nation will serve Him as it acknowledges His Social Kingship over it by submitting in all that pertains to the good of souls to the authority of the Catholic Church that He Himself founded upon the Rock of Peter, the Pope. We are suffering at the hands of statists today because the men of Modernity who believed that they had no obligation to offer public worship to Christ the King through His true Church set us on a course that can result only in the triumph of the civil state over the King of Kings Who was made manifest to Saints Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar on this day. We must make Him manifest in our own lives at at all times, never fearing to suffer in behalf of the truths of the Holy Faith or to suffer in the cause of justice when souls are placed into jeopardy needlessly even by some of our own true shepherds.

A blessed Feast of the Epiphany of Our Lord to you all! Another original article will appear tomorrow, January 7, 2010.

Finally, there is a new Letter to the Editors of the SGG INFO site from Mrs. Janet Gaye that is well worth reading.

Almost Always At Odds With Themselves

Conciliarists are at odds with each other over many things, including what constitutes a "proper" interpretation of the texts of the "Second" Vatican Council and the "magisterium" of the conciliar "pontiffs." This time, however, "Bishop" Ratko Peric of Mostar-Duvno in Bosnia-Herzegovina has taken over Vienna's Christoph "Cardinal" Schonborn's "private" visit to Medjugorje over Christmas that constituted a de facto "official" endorsement of the false apparitions. "Bishop" Peric used logic and facts to eviscerate Schonborn's words and actions. Perhaps Schonborn will respond to "Bishop" Peric's use of logic and truth by claiming that the local conciliar "bishop" in Mostar-Duvno is full of "hatred" and/or that he is "possessed." Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

There should be an original article published tomorrow.

January 4 Update

Although it was my hope to have a new article posted by today, a phenomenon called fatigue got in the way. One will appear later this evening or early tomorrow morning.

There is a brief editorial, "All the Subtle Demonisms," on the SGG Info website that I urge readers of this site to read. The editorial is excellent.

Also, several readers from England have written to inform me that the Reverend Mr. Bernard G. J. Hall was mistaken in his belief that there are no Masses in England that are not offered "una cum Benedicto." One reader informed me of Masses that are offered by Father Thomas Le Gal once a month in his, the reader's home in Bradford, Yorkshire, England. Another reader has written to remind me of something that I had forgotten: two priests associated with the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen, Fathers Eugene Rissling and Johannes Heyne, offer Mass once a month in the Downham Market section of London in the church that was served for many years by the late Father Oswald Baker. I thank the readers for bringing this to my attention.

Yet another reader has sent me two excerpts from Dom Prosper Gueranger's The Liturgical Year pertinent to today's feast, the Octave Day of the Holy Innocents:

From Pudentius, the Poet of the Mysteries and the Martyrs, from whom the Church has taken her beautiful stanzas for the Feast of the Holy Innocents, Salvete, Flores Martyrum, celebrates the immolation of these lovely Babes of Bethlehem. . . . It is to this Hymn that the Roman Liturgy has had recourse for several great Feasts, and we now extract from it the strophes which refer to our dear Innocents.

The anxious Tyrant hears that the King of kings is come, who is to rule over the Jews, and all on the throne of David.

Maddened by jealous fear he calls a messenger, and says to him: ‘Our rival is at hand – we are in danger: go, slave, arm thee with thy sword, and bathe every cradle with blood.

‘Let every male-child be slain, and every nurse be watched, and every Babe feel thy sharp-edged blade, even whilst he sucks his mother’s breast.

‘Not a Mother about Bethlehem but I suspect her; then watch them all, lest they hide their boys from thee.’

On this the executioner goes and in his wicked cruelty plunges his naked dagger into the tender flesh and the but freshly formed hearts of these little ones.

But where shall he strike? Where find space enough to hold a gaping wound in these4 infant-bodies not so big as the dagger in his hand?

Yet still these butchers murder every child. Here it is an infant dashed against a rock, covering its flinty sides, oh, cruel sight! with blood and brains and eyes.

There it is a lovely babe torn from his mother’s arms and thrown into a deep stream, whose gurgling waters weep whilst drowning sobs and life so sweet as these.

Hail, ye Flowers of the Martyrs! The enemy of Christ cut you down in the very threshold of life, as rose-buds are snapped by a storm.

First Victims for Jesus! Tender flock of his Martyrs! Ye, with sweet simplicity, play with palms and your crowns even at the very altar of your sacrifice!

And what does Herod gain by this dark crime? Does it give him what he sought? The single One he cared to kill is Jesus, and he still lives!

The stream of infant-blood has ceased to flow, and he alone is safe: the Virgin’s Child has escaped that sword which robbed all other Mothers of their babes.

So was it in that time of old, when Moses, the liberator of his people, and the type of Christ, escaped the senseless edicts of the wicked Pharaoh. [Taken from The Liturgical Year, Christmas Book 1, Vol. 2, By Abbot Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B.; Loreto Pubs, 2000, Fitzwilliam, NH; Octave of Holy Innocents, pp. 444-446.]

Prayer to the Holy Innocents in The Liturgical Year:

Sweet Flowers of the Martyrs! your Feast is over in our Church on earth, but your patronage will never leave us. During this new year of the holy Liturgy which God has given us, you will watch over us and pray for us to the Lamb, who loves you so tenderly. We entrust to you the fruits of grace which our souls have gathered from the Christmas Feasts. We have become little children together with our Lord; we have begun a new life with him; pray for us, that we may grow with him in wisdom and age before God and man.1 Secure us perseverance by your prayers; and to this end, keep up in our hearts that Christian simplicity which is the special virtue of Children of Christ. You are innocent; we are sinners; still, we are brethren; love us, then with brotherly love. You were garnered into heaven at the very dawn of the Law of Grace; our lives have fallen on the close of time, and the world has grown cold in charity; be near and help us; cheer and encourage us in our combat, by showing us your lovely palms of victory; pray to our Lord, that we may speedily obtain by repentance the heavenly crown which his infinite mercy allowed you to win, without the fatigues and risks of a battle.

Infant Martyrs! forget not the young generation, which has just entered on the scene of life. You were taken to eternal glory at the age of infancy; these little ones are like you in their innocence, love them, watch over them, pray for them. The grace of their Baptism is upon them in all it freshness, and their pure souls reflect as a mirror the holiness of the God that dwells in them by grace. Alas! these Babes are to go through great trials; many of them will forfeit the grace of God, and their Baptismal garment will lose its unspotted purity. The world will seek to corrupt their heart and mind, and the frightful influence of bad example is almost always successful. Christian mothers will have to weep over the ruin of their children’s souls, and what consolation is there for such a grief as theirs? There is a Christian Rama and a Christian Rachel ever wailing in the Church: do you, sweet Innocents of Bethlehem, comfort these mothers, by praying for their little ones. Pray that our times may grow less evil, and that parents may have less need to fear than they now have that the first step taken by their children in the world will be death to their souls. Amen. [Taken from The Liturgical Year, Christmas Book 1, Vol. 2, By Abbot Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B.; Loreto Pubs, 2000, Fitzwilliam, NH; Octave of Holy Innocents, p. 447-8.]

Holy Innocents, pray for us.

Finally, I ask for your prayers for the repose of the soul of the late Frank Sullivan, who died in Rhode Island on the Feast of the Circumcision at the age of ninety-two. Father Gabriel Lavery, CMRI, offered Mr. Sullivan's Requiem Mass earlier today. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Telling Omissions

Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI has issued his annual "world day of peace" message. The text, which has been available for the past two weeks now even though it is dated January 1, 2010, contains a few passages that make proper Catholic distinctions between what constitutes pantheism and what constitutes man's legitimate dominion over the created world. There are, in addition to the usual endorsement of international agencies and of the principle of subsidiarity (as was the case in Caritas in Veritate), some very telling omissions, including no references whatsoever to Our Lady, her Most Holy Rosary or her Fatima Message. Our Lord has given us the path to peace--and it does not run through environmentalism. It runs through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

A blessed Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus to you all!

A new article should be posted on this site at some point tomorrow, January 4, 2010.

On A Mission of Their Very Own

It is evidently the case that a group of rampaging elephants in India have not gotten the message from Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI that "peace" consists of the "coexistence" of different religions. On a mission of their very own, a group of rampaging elephants last year attacked the homes of those who had been responsible for persecuting and killing Catholics in 2008. "O ye, beasts and cattle, bless the Lord." Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

There should be another article tomorrow on Holy Name Sunday, January 3, 2010.

Stalinists Always Claim to Want Peace

Father Anthony Cekada has written recently that none of the problems that he has sought for so long to minimize were worth going to "war" over, analogizing the warfare that has ensued in the last eight weeks as a result of his own diffidence in the face of serious complaints that were brought to him time and again by parents and other parishioners to a dispute within the Cistercians in the Seventeenth Century over the eating of meat. If there is nothing to go to "war" over, one is then forced to ask why Bishop Daniel L. Dolan and Father Anthony Cekada have suborned their friend Joseph Charles McKenzie's now disabled website and why the pulpit of Saint Gertrude the Great Church has been used as a forum of self-serving pity parties and the public castigation of Father Markus Ramolla, who sought only to protect the innocence and the purity of the young. One is also forced to ask why Bishop Dolan and Father Cekada are suborning efforts to deport their former friend and employee, the Reverend Mr. Bernard G. J. Hall, from the country where he has lived since 1982. Would Federal immigration authorities have been "tipped off" "anonymously" if Mr. Hall was still working at Saint Gertrude the Great School while he kept he mouth shut about the abuses that he had observed with his own eyes there?

Alas, the Reverend Mr. Bernard G. J. Hall, is being punished for establishing the SGG Info and St. Albert the Great websites. He explains his plight in a series of answers to questions that I posed to him on Monday, December 28, 2009, six days after he was fingerprinted and photographed by Federal authorities after visa problems that Father Cekada had been promising the Reverend Mr. Hall for years to fix became a pretext to start deportation proceedings against him. Mr. Hall's story is compelling. It contains a narrative that, so very sadly, is now familiar to those who have been following the tragedy created by Bishop Dolan and Father Cekada and their rank abuse of clerical authority. Stalinists always claim to want "peace" as they seek to silence and punish anyone who dares to criticize them.

The Reverend Mr. Hall's plight has also been assessed by Mr. Timothy A. Duff in his excellent article, The Betrayal of the Reverend Mr. Bernard Hall.

Although it had been my hope that further articles on the situation at Saint Gertrude the Great Church and School would not be necessary, I knew on the morning of Wednesday, December 23, 2009, when reading an e-mail from the Reverend Mr. Hall on my cellular phone that yet another article would have to be written. As readers will discover when reading Mr. Duff's article, the cruelty that has been visited upon Bernard G. J. Hall is truly unfathomable, coming just days before Christmas. Please join me in praying a Rosary for the Reverend Mr. Bernard G. J. Hall and his intentions at this time.

Republished: To Fulfill All Righteousness, To Proclaim the Name of All Names

We start the New Year of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the year 2010, with the Feast of His Circumcision, the first time that He shed His Most Precious Blood as His Holy Name, Jesus, was proclaimed publicly for the first time. One drop of His Most Precious Blood would have been enough to redeem us. It was His Co-Equal Father's Will for Him to undergo His fearful Passion and Death so as to show forth the depths of His love for us and the horror of our own sins.

Our Lady was present with her Most Chaste Spouse, Good Saint Joseph, when the Precious Blood of her Divine Son was shed for the first time on this day over two millennia now. She was present as He shed His Most Precious Blood during His Passion and Death. She, our spotless Blessed Mother, wants us to be ready to shed our blood in behalf of the Holy Faith and in defense of the Holy Name of Jesus, the only Name given to men by which they are to be saved. We will rely upon Our Lady's help to have the courage to be more zealous in defense of the Holy Faith that has been given to us as such a high cost?

Republished: Another New Year to Serve Our Lord through the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Well, here is the first new article of the new year. It is but a brief reflection on the gratitude that we must have to God for all that He has given us throughout our lives, including the now concluded year of 2009, and to beg Him to be grateful to Him for everything that He gives us--both the consolations and the crosses--as we offer unto Him in perfect equanimity all of our sorrows and joys through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

A blessed New Year and Feast of the Circumcision of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to you all!

L'Osservatore Romano Di Infirmita Mentale

What more can be said? More insanity from L'Osservatore Romano. What more can be said? This 238th article of calendar year 2009 on this site deals once again with praise for merchants of cultural evil from the pages of L'Osservatore Romano. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Republished: A Pope Who Was Not Puddy Tat

Pope Saint Sylvester I did not abide heresy. He did not enable it in the slightest. He confronted it as he sought the conversion of all non-Catholics to the true Faith. His firm defense of the Holy Faith as Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Vicar on earth must inspire us in our day to seek his intercession for the needs of the Church Militant on earth as she suffers in the catacombs as pretenders to the papal throne make their open accommodations to propositions that have been anathematized time and time again in the past by true popes and/or dogmatic councils. The Church arose from the catacombs during the pontificate of Pope Saint Sylvester I. May his intercession for us now help to bring about a like arising from the catacombs in our own day as the falsehoods of the counterfeit church of conciliarism are wiped away once and for all.

There might be another original article published on this site later today, and there should be another original article posted for tomorrow, the Feast of the Circumcision, along with a revised article.

It would be wise to end this year by spending time before Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Real Presence in prayer as we pray our Rosaries in thanksgiving for the favors and graces received this year, in reparation for our sins and those of others this year, in petition for our spiritual and temporal needs and, of course, in adoration of the good God Who preserves our existence and Who wants us to show forth our love for Him by our fidelity to His teaching and our sorrow for our sins as members of His true Church.

A Holy New Year of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ 2010 to you all!

Hawaii Sleep-O

Barack Hussein Obama emerged from three days of sunning and relaxation on the beaches of Oahu to make a statement about the incident aboard Northwest Flight 253 on Christmas Day that could have been made by his predecessor, former President George Walker Bush. Thus it must ever go in a country where naturalists of the "left" and of the "right" are paralyzed by the prevailing currents of political correctness while they enable domestic terrorism against the innocent preborn under cover of the civil law. Our Lad of the Rosary, pray for us.

Revised: A Martyr for the Church's Liberties

There was a time when there were real, honest-to-goodness Catholic Archbishops of Canterbury. Let's see here, that would be from the time of Saint Augustine of Canterbury in 597 A.D. to the time of Reginald Cardinal Pole in 1558, a period of nearly a millennium. The fortieth legitimate Archbishop of Canterbury is the saint whose feast we celebrate today, Saint Thomas a Becket, who was indeed a martyr for the Church's liberties.

Saint Thomas a Becket asserted the rights of Christ the King as the Archbishop of Canterbury, insisting that clerics accused of civil crimes be tried in ecclesiastical, not civil, courts. This led him to clash with his onetime friend, King Henry II of the House of Plantagenet. Prefiguring another English king named Henry (this one, number The Eighth, from the House of Tudor), Henry II could not abide his former friend's resistance to his, Henry's attempt to assert royal power over the Church, leading him to uttering the words that would inspire three of his barons to murder the Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas a Becket, on this date in 1170, eight hundred thirty-eight years ago now. The latter Henry, the one called "The Eighth," had Saint Thomas a Beckets relics destroyed as his martyrdom was a reminder to one and all that the Church has Divine Rights superior to those of the civil state.

King Henry II had to do public penance for uttering the words that resulted in the martyrdom of Saint Thomas a Becket. His son, King John I, having been slow to learn the lessons of his public penance, was forced by his barons and noblemen in the year 1215 to sign the Magna Carta to guarantee the rights of the Church under civil law in England. This was a victory for the liberties of the Catholic Church that had been won by the blood of this great champion of the Social Reign of Christ the King, Saint Thomas a Becket, whose intercession we seek this day and every day for the restoration of the Social Reign of Christ the King in all nations, including the United States of America.

Indeed, the situation we face in the United States of America today is the direct result of the overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King wrought by the Protestant Revolt and the rise of Judeo-Masonry. Nations founded in the belief that men can pursue the common temporal good without subordinating themselves to the Deposit of Faith that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ entrusted exclusively to His Catholic Church for Its eternal safekeeping and infallible explication--and who believe that they can be "good" and "virtuous" on their own powers without belief in, access to or cooperation with Sanctifying Grace--are bound to degenerate over the course of time. Statism is the only end result of the process of decay that must occur when nations reject the simple truth that Catholicism is the one and only foundation of personal and social order. And it is the statists of the present moment, starting with Barack Hussein Obama, who sacrifice the legitimate national sovereignty and national security of their own nations in order to demonstrate their "solidarity" with "bettering" the world on a "global" basis.

Oh, here's my travel tip for you for today: don't take any advice on personal safety offered to you by Janet Napolitano. Just a little tip.

A continued blessed Christmas and a blessed feast of Saint Thomas a Becket to you all!

December 28 Articles and Latest Update from SGG Info

Revised: Wholly Innocent

Today, the Fourth Day within the Octave of Christmas, is the Feast the Holy Innocents, the children who were put to death at the orders of the jealous titular King of Judea who had been installed by the Roman occupiers to pacify resistance to their unjust occupation of the Holy Land. King Herod the Great, whose sons Herod and Philip were no less corrupt and violent than he was, wanted to kill the Baby King Whom he thought to be a threat to his own political suzerainty, such as it was as a puppet ruler under the Roman occupiers. It meant nothing to him to wipe out so many innocent children in his quest to kill the Baby King, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Who was born in Bethlehem to save, his, Herod the Great's, own immortal soul by the shedding of every single drop of His Most Precious Blood on the wood of the Holy Cross.

There have been imitators of Herod the Great throughout history who have sought to put to death the followers of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in an insane effort to wipe the Faith off of the face of this earth. The names of these imitators are legion. Their likes are to be found in our own midst today as politicians of both major organized crime families of naturalism in the United States of America, the Democrat Party and the Republican Party, believe that a just social order can be established and maintained while innocent preborn human beings are slaughtered under cover of law and while the Sovereignty of Christ the King is denied in favor of the sovereignty of men and their false, naturalistic, semi-Pelagian and anti-Incarnational ideas.

That having been noted, however, it is important to point out that the Holy Innocents are honored as saints because they died in the place of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as a political potentate drunk with his own self-importance sought to kill the Newborn Baby King with a furious rage. The slaughter of the innocent preborn today, as horrible as it is and as deserving of our attention by means of legitimate Catholic Action undertaken under the direction of our true bishops and true priests, especially by means of praying Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary and by means of sidewalk counseling, is different in that the children being killed today are not being targeted specifically in the place of Our Lord. Unlike the speculative conclusions offered by the "International Theological Commission" of the counterfeit church of conciliarism in 2007, the Catholic Church has never held out "hope" that the souls of unbaptized infants go to Heaven, which is why the crime of the killing of the preborn is so monstrous as it kills the souls of those involved in the execution and denies the slaughtered babies the glory of the Beatific Vision. The Holy Innocents are saints because they were targeted quite specifically because of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and thus shed their blood on His account.

We need to invoke the intercession of the Holy Innocents today and every day to stop the shedding of the blood of the innocent under cover of law, praying to them especially that Catholics blinded by the allure of various naturalistic "strategies" to end the social evils of the day will be reminded of this truth stated by Pope Saint Pius X in Notre Charge Apostolique, August 15, 1910:

For there is no true civilization without a moral civilization, and no true moral civilization without the true religion: it is a proven truth, a historical fact.

Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ must reign as King of men and nations, my friends. Accept no naturalistic substitutes from the "Herods" of this world and their enablers in the counterfeit church of conciliarism who reject the Social Reign of the Newborn King, Our Divine Redeemer Whom Herod the Great sought to kill.

L'Osservatore Di Tutte Le Cose Grezze

It's been quite a year for the observer of all crude things (otherwise known as L'Osservatore Romano). The year of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ of 2009 is ending with Gian Maria Vian's publication praising The Simpsons. Although, as is indicated in the body of this article, the first ten paragraphs are lifted entirely from L'Osservatore Benedetto, the rest of the article is entirely original in text, although the themes have been sounded again and again on this site over the years.

There should be another original article on this site tomorrow, the Feast of Saint Thomas a Becket.

Finally, there are new updates on the SGG Info website, including a commentary on the home page and a very fine summary of why parishioners have left Saint Gertrude the Great Church in West Chester, Ohio, and Saint Clare's Church in Columbus, Ohio, that was written by former Saint Clare's parishioner Sue Bastaja. Mrs. Bastaja's letter is an excellent rejoinder to those who are continuing to misrepresent the facts and to project "hatred" into the minds of hearts of those who have had quite enough with clericalism and the character assassinations that have taken place in the past seven weeks.

Thoughts to Ponder...

"America, it is said, is suffering from intolerance. It is not. It is suffering from tolerance of right and wrong, truth and error, virtue and evil, Christ and chaos. Our country is not nearly so much overrun with the bigoted as it is overrun with the broadminded....

"...In the face of this broadmindedness, what the world needs is intolerance."

(Fulton Sheen's "A Plea for Intolerance," 1931)

Memo to President Obama from Pope Pius XI:

"Those who hold the reins of government should not forget that it is the duty of public authority by appropriate laws and sanctions to defend the lives of the innocent, and this all the more so since those whose lives are endangered and assailed cannot defend themselves. Among whom we must mention in the first place infants hidden in the mother's womb. And if the public magistrates not only do not defend them, but by their laws and ordinances betray them to death at the hands of doctors or of others, let them remember that God is the Judge and Avenger of innocent blood which cried from earth to Heaven." (Pope Pius XI, Casti Connubii, December 30, 1930.)

"The whole world is dividing itself into progressives and conservatives. The job of the progressives is to go on making mistakes. The job of the conservatives is to prevent those mistakes from being corrected." Gilbert Keith Chesterton, April 19, 1924

"Know this: it is by very little breaches of regularity that the devil succeeds in introducing the greatest abuses. May you never end up saying: 'This is nothing, this is an exaggeration.'" (Saint Teresa of Avila, Foundations, Chapter Twenty-nine)

"I would give up my life a thousand times, not only for each of the truths of Sacred Scripture, but even more for the least of the ceremonies of the Catholic Church."  (Saint Teresa of Avila, Life, Thirty-three, 3.)
