As We Get Back To Basics
by Thomas A. Droleskey
Although the video presentation that appeared on this site when it was accessible for a brief moment or two on a subscription basis (and that is available now on the Christ or Chaos Store site for a nominal fee) was meant to be my last word on the tragic events that have unfolded at Saint Gertrude the Great Church in the past three months, a postscript of sorts might be in order as we continue to concentrate on the sanctification and salvation of our immortal souls by making no concessions whatsoever to conciliarism and its blaspheming officials.
The multiple misrepresentations of fact made by Father Anthony Cekada in the past two months since his friend Joseph Charles McKenzie's anonymous website of character assassination and calumny was exposed and taken down have been very effectively refuted by the editors of the SGG Info in their six-part series on Father Cekada's "School Dazed." Part 6 of the refutation of "School Dazed" is particularly noteworthy as it contains two letters from parishioners of Saint Clare's Church in Columbus, Ohio, that demonstrate conclusively Father Cekada's use of misrepresentation to make his points. One of these letters is a detailed response by Mr. Robert Bastaja to Fr. Cekada's account in School Dazed of what happened to the St. Clare's bank accounts, the other is a letter of explanation by Mr. Jan R. Satola regarding an accusation by Fr. Cekada in School Dazed. Anyone with an ounce of objectivity will be able to conclude that Father Cekada's explanation of what happened at Saint Clare's Church is not supportable by the facts presented by Mr. Bastaja and Mr. Satola, once again demonstrating Father Cekada's penchant for seeking to deflect attention from serious matters by means of rhetorical sleights of hand.
This having been noted, however, hard-core supporters of Bishop Daniel L. Dolan and of Father Cekada will not be persuaded by such evidence, which is why Father Markus Ramolla's decision to suspend any new entries on the SGG Info site is a sound one. The six-part series refuting "School Dazed" has left no stone unturned. Other material is archived at the SGG Info site. There is nothing more to say, which is why there have been no articles on this site about the matter since
Stalinists Always Claim to Want Peace on January 1, 2010, which was a pretty comprehensive summary of the facts of the matter as well as the underlying issues represented by those facts. My recent video presentation was made solely to provide a personal perspective to the matter, stressing the fact that none of us hates Bishop Dolan or Father Cekada or anyone else as we have sought to pursue justice without malice in order to defend those who have been persecuted and calumniated in their efforts to protect the innocence and purity of the young. There is really nothing else to be said.
Father Markus Ramolla even took the extraordinary step a few days ago to "walk back," to use common parlance in the political world, the interview that he gave in November to the editors of the SGG Info site, stating publicly that the interview's substance did not justify his conclusions. This act of humility is commendable, representing, of course, Father Ramolla's desire to proceed with the work at hand, that is, to care for the pastoral needs of the sheep who have left Saint Gertrude the Great Church because they, the sheep, concluded all on their own that they could no longer abide by and remain silent in the face of the deceptions and lies and the misrepresentations and the character assassinations emanating from the pulpit and websites of Saint Gertrude the Great Church.
Father Ramolla had nothing to gain by taking the stand that he did on behalf of truth while at Saint Gertrude the Great Church. Indeed, he has put himself at great risk as his ability to continue his pastoral work in the United States of America is still undecided. He had, as I have noted in the past, nowhere to lay his head following his dismissal by Bishop Dolan on Thursday, November 5, 2009. He did not have sufficient funds in his bank account upon which sustain himself indefinitely. He had no motor vehicle with which to drive himself to various locations. Thus it is that any and all accusations that Father Ramolla had a "plan" to "destroy" Saint Gertrude the Great Church is without any foundation. His only desire was to defend truth with vigor, doing so publicly only after all private entreaties failed and as he was dealt with by Bishop Dolan and Father Cekada as summarily and as arbitrarily as they have dealt with others in the past (and at the present time).
Father Ramolla's defense of truth thereafter has been courageous and admirable. It was necessary to expose and critique a pattern of clerical abuse of authority that is identical in many respects to that which exists in the Novus Ordo structures, a pattern of abuse that seeks to browbeat, intimidate and then to assassinate the character of anyone and everyone who dares even to present serious concerns to their shepherds privately, no less than to discuss them publicly after the failure to seek redress by private means. While some have assuaged themselves by concluding that what occurred at Saint Gertrude the Great Church was merely a "local" matter that did not involve "doctrine," the truth of the matter is, of course, that God cares about moral integrity just as much as He cares about doctrinal integrity, and that it is never a "local" matter when any member of the Church Militant on earth is dealt with unjustly and as lies are told about him.
Father Ramolla and those who have assisted him at the SGG Info site kept uppermost in their minds the following injunction of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ:
And the king answering, shall say to them: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to me. (Matthew 25: 40.)
Those who do not want to see the truth of what has happened in this tragic matter now will see it on the Last Day at the General Judgment of the Living and Dead. We can't be spending time until then trying to convince people of that which they do not want to see or accept. What we can do, however, is to pray for each other as we make reparation for our sins and those of the whole world, seeking to offer up our own prayers and sufferings and sacrifices and penances and humiliations with joy and gratitude to the Most Blessed Trinity through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, mindful of the importance of praying as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit.
