Have to keep up with the Auditioning To Be The Next Universal Face of Apostasy.

If you thought that Auditioning To Be The Next Universal Face of Apostasy was too far-fetched, guess again.

It was not:

VATICAN CITY – The Vatican's penchant for secrecy has won out over American-style transparency.

The U.S. cardinals in Rome for the conclave to elect the next pope canceled their popular daily press briefings Wednesday, purportedly after some details of the secret proceedings under way ahead of the election were leaked to Italian newspapers.

The Vatican denied it had exerted any pressure on the American cardinals to keep quiet. But the Vatican spokesman, the Rev. Federico Lombardi, made clear that the Holy See considered this week's pre-conclave meetings, in which cardinals are discussing the problems of the church, to be secret and part of a solemn process to choose a pope.

"The College (of Cardinals) as a whole has decided to maintain a line of an increasing degree of reserve," he said.

The spokeswoman for the U.S. cardinals, Sister Mary Ann Walsh, said Wednesday's briefing was canceled after other cardinals expressed concern in the morning "about leaks of confidential proceedings reported in Italian newspapers."

She said that, as a precaution, all interviews had been canceled.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Walsh said Italy's La Stampa newspaper had on Monday and Tuesday reported details of comments individual cardinals made in the closed-door meetings that were cited as a violation of their oath of secrecy. That prompted the decision to observe a media blackout.

She dismissed speculation that the Vatican and cardinals from other countries simply didn't appreciate the openness of the Americans, saying, "I don't think anyone was angry at the Americans. They were angry at La Stampa.

"In true old-style Catholic school teacher fashion, someone talks and everybody stays after school," Walsh said. She added that the Americans had been assured that the Vatican was pleased with their briefings.

Perhaps. But Lombardi suggested he was irritated with the American briefings in an email to The Associated Press on Tuesday, when asked whether he had considered inviting cardinals to his briefings to provide journalists with first-hand information from the participants.

Lombardi said he had decided against it because of the vow of secrecy and the natural reserve that is supposed to accompany the cardinals in these days preceding a conclave.

"If some cardinals think it's useful to communicate, naturally preserving the reserve they've committed themselves to concerning the election, I have no objections," he wrote. "I do my part helping journalists."

Italian media speculated that Vatican-based cardinals and Italian cardinals in particular were displeased with the popular American briefings -- they were the only ones holding press conferences -- and the U.S. openness about wanting to delay the start date of the conclave.

Cardinals Daniel DiNardo of Texas and Sean O'Malley of Boston said in Tuesday's briefing that they favored taking a longer time for pre-conclave discussions to gather more information about the problems of the Vatican bureaucracy and discern who among them should be pope.

"We need to give it the time that's necessary," O'Malley told the packed press conference at the North American College, the U.S. seminary up the hill from the Vatican. "I believe the feeling of the cardinals is that we want to have enough time in the general congregations so that when we go to the conclave itself it's a time of decision."

Drawing laughs, O'Malley added: "And it is hard to get a bad meal in Rome."

Italian newspapers on Wednesday, however, reported that Vatican-based cardinals wanted the election to take place quickly and that there was no reason to draw out the pre-conclave discussions. The implication was that perhaps they don't want all the Vatican's dirty laundry aired out.

Italian newspapers and international media, including The Associated Press, have reported on the unique briefings the Americans were providing, and how they contrasted with the near-silence from other cardinals and the comparatively sedate Vatican briefings.

During Tuesday's briefing, DiNardo and O'Malley held a lively and informative 30-minute chat with some 100 reporters and two dozen television crews from around the globe. They revealed no details of their closed-door discussions. But they nevertheless provided journalists with insight about the process from two people actually involved.

"We're trying to help people have a greater understanding of what the process is and the procedures and background information," O'Malley told reporters. "Right now that's about all we can share with you but we're happy to try to do it."

Although the Americans were the only cardinals who were holding daily briefings, other individual cardinals have given occasional interviews to individual media.

And in an indication that the blackout wasn't total, U.S. Cardinal Timothy Dolan went ahead with his live radio show broadcast Wednesday.

Separately Wednesday, the Vatican said only one voting-age cardinal remained absent, Vietnamese Cardinal Jean-Baptiste Pham Minh Man. Lombardi said he was expected Thursday, meaning a date for the start of the conclave could be decided then. (US cardinals cancel briefing amid concern of leaks.)

Oath of Secrecy?

What Oath of Secrecy?

That' so "Oath Against Modernism," you know, so early Twentieth Century.

The Americans are loving the attention they are getting from the worldwide media while Sister Mary Ann Walsh, who has been at the work of promoting apostasy from within the offices of the formerly named United States Catholic Conference, now the "United States Conference of Catholic 'Bishops,'" for thirty years now, attempted to defuse the manner by spinning what the American "cardinals" have done by comparing it with the detention imposed upon an entire class for the misbehavior of a handful of students, meaning that she does not believe that the Oath of Secrecy is any kind of "big deal." After all, Americans believe in openness and transparency, right?

Just ask the administration of Caesar Barackus Obamus Ignoramus about their policy of openness and transparency that has been on display about the scandalous cover-up of the terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012, and wounded a number of Americans, the exact number of whom his administration refuses to believe.

Well, never mind. Bad example.

The American "cardinals" are indeed BLAAAAABBBBERMOUTHS!" in the pattern of the Gotham Bus Company's favorite bus driver, Ralph Kramden ("A Matter of Record," The Honeymooners, January 7, 1956; clip found at The Blabbermouth!).

These guys just can't keep their mouths shut.

Blab, blab, blab.

Sean O'Malley, O.F.M., the conciliar "archbishop" of Boston, Massachusetts, and the longtime sycophant of Talmudists and enabler of pro-abortion Catholics in public life (see No Crime Is Worse Than Deicide, Another Victim of Americanism; Behold The Free Rein Given to Error; Behold The Free Rein Given to Error; Unfortunate Enough to Be A Baby; Unfortunate Enough to Be A Baby; Beacon of Social Justice?; Spotlight On The Ordinary; What's Good For Teddy Is Good For Benny; Sean O'Malley: Coward and Hypocrite: More Rationalizations and Distortions), and Daniel DiNardo, the conciliar "archbishop" of Galveston, Houston, Texas, a direct product of the conciliar, lavender-friendly revolutionary machine in the Diocese of Pittsburgh that produced his mentor and promoter, Donald Wuerl, the conciliar "archbishop" of Washington, District of Columbia, Promoting "Dialogue" Over "Dogmatism", Naughty, Naughty, Nancy, Helping Bishop Fellay To Find His Hermeneutic Of Continuity, part one, Forever Preserving False "Traditions", More Than Enough Chaos To Go Around, Enabled and Protected By Her Own "Archbishop", Public Scandal Is Never A Private Matter, Ratzinger Just Should Canonize Himself And Be Done With It, Still Hunkered Down In Mindanao, Fret Not About Denying The Faith, Fret Not and, among others, Rebels in Rerun Season, part two), were having the time of their lives at their joint press conference at the North American College in Rome two days ago. Yes, the time of their lives. These guys love the spotlight.

It's a circus.

It's a farce.

It's how apostates choose their next Universal Public Face of Apostasy.

O'Malley even joked that "And it is hard to get a bad meal in Rome" as a way of explaining why he wouldn't mind the "general congregations" being extended so that they could choose the best apostate to represent them while they enjoy the fine cuisine of Rome on the expense account provided them by his flock back in Boston, so decimated by the scandalous revelations that broke in the secular media eleven years ago after nearly fifteen years of reporting on the matter in such disparate outlets as The Wanderer and National Catholic Reporter (which we used to call National Catholic Distorter during my seminary days because of its ultra-progressive revolutionary agenda that I thought at the time represented them as "enemies" of Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II).

Hey, boys and girls, and that phrase has been chosen quite deliberately, it's supposed to be Lent, a time of prayer and fasting, not feasting in Roman ristorantes.

Ah, how silly of me. I forgot. Please forgive me.

There are only two obligatory days of fasting during Lent in the Protestant and Masonic Novus Ordo calendar, Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.

Meanwhile, Focolare's campaign in behalf of the wholly owned subsidy of George Soros and his agenda of One World Governance, Peter Turkson (see yesterday's All Signs Point To Antichrist), has been joined by a blatantly open campaign directed by close aides to the conciliar "archbishop" of Sao Paolo, Brazil, Odilo Scherer, to push him front and center in the "Race for the Petrine Ministry," if you will:

The Brazilian entourage in the Vatican has adopted a campaign tune in favor of Cardinal Odilo Scherer, Archbishop of Sao Paulo, in the conclave that will choose the next pope.

The President of the CNBB (National Conference of the Bishops of Brazil), Cardinal Raymundo Damasceno Assis, said yesterday that his fellow countryman has "every condition" to ascend to the helm of the church.

Monsignor Antonio Luiz Catelan, who travelled to Rome to advise the cardinals, confirmed the negotiations for Card. Odilo and said that his candidacy gains strength in the pre-election meetings.

"The name of Card. Odilo increases in more than one continent," he affirmed, following the first meeting of the general congregation of Cardinals. "People are talking amongst themselves."

He celebrated the hype of the foreign press: "The phone does not stop." "One notices that there is a very clear interest in Card. Odilo."

The clergyman said that the candidacy of the Brazilian has become the most talked-about in the high echelons of the church.

Catelan suggested that Brazilian journalists publish positive reports to boost the Cardinal. "You could spread, [when speaking] of Brazilian cardinals, elements that may show him to be a good candidate."

Conclaves do not have declared candidates, and most mentioned ones use to avoid declarations. It is the case of Card. Odilo, who used a side gate to enter the Vatican, away from reporters.

"He does not feel he is a candidate, he continues with the same humility as always," Catelan said. (Conclave scandal: media-Cardinal collusion. Brazilian Apostate's in open papal campaign. Apostate Scherer's adviser asks media to publish supportive articles.)

Why not?

I mean, these apostates break the Ten Commandments and defy anathematized propositions all of the time. Why not just openly campaign to be the next Universal Public Face of Apostasy while having his campaign manager speak so unctuously of your "humility."

Why not?

Another "cardinal" participating in the madness to select the next Universal Public Face of Apostasy is the conciliar "archbishop" of Caracas, Venezuela, who will be holding a "Mass of Christian Burial" for his country's socialist dictator, the recently deceased Hugo Chavez, who collaborated directly with Communists such as Fidel and Raul Castro and imposed nothing other than a state-sponsored wave of terror in his oil-rich country:

Cardinal Jorge Urosa Savino, archbishop of Caracas and Primate of Venezuela, will celebrate a “solemn Mass” in Rome in honor of deceased President Hugo Chavez. A communique by the Archbishopric of Caracas stated that the cardinal is in Rome to take part in the Conclave to elect the new Pope.

Nicolas Maduro, Vice-President of Venezuela, who was appointed personally by the deceased President to succeed him and who will call elections in 30 days, announced the Venezuelan leader’s death yesterday afternoon. President Chavez, 58, died of cancer at 4:25 pm in the Military Hospital of Caracas.

“Cardinal Urosa, archbishop of Caracas, will celebrate a solemn funeral Mass in Rome at a date and place to be announced shortly. All Venezuelans who wish to do so, are invited to attend the religious ceremony to pray for the eternal rest of President Chavez,” the communique stated.

The cardinal expressed “his condolences” to the deceased President’s family and urged that, given his death, “the mechanisms provided in the Constitution be applied,” and that all sectors foster “the calm and harmony of the population.”

For his part, hours earlier the secretary general of the Venezuelan Episcopal Conference, auxiliary Bishop Jesus Gonzalez de Zarate of Caracas, made an appeal for “national unity” on addressing the “painful event” of the President’s death.

At this time, let us all express are best sentiments,” said the prelate in a phone interview to the television program “Hello Citizen,” of the local channel Globovision.

The bishop then reminded that “death is not the end of our life; death opens the way to a fully happy life, with God our Father.

On several occasions in the past, the bishops of Venezuela appealed to the people for prayers for the President.

In February, at the beginning of Lent, Cardinal Urosa encouraged the faithful to pray for Chavez’s recovery. “God wants our prayer to be more alive and for this year the Church proposes reading the Word of God. But, in addition, we must attend Holy Mass which is the memorial of the glorious Resurrection of Jesus Christ,” he said on that occasion.

The Catholic Church in Venezuela also prayed for peace, calm and harmony in the country after the sad news. “I have just heard the sad news of the death of the President of the Republic, Hugo Rafael Chavez Frias, for whom I pray to the Lord for his soul’s eternal rest,” Cardinal Urosa said from Rome to the State channel Vale TV.

After sending his condolences to the family, friends and followers of the President, cardinal Urosa supported the “appeal for peace and calm and the rejection of violence” made by the government.

“And I pray that good sense and harmony will reign in the country over the coming days,” he said.

For his part, Archbishop Diego Padron, president of the Venezuelan Episcopal Conference (CEV), said in statements on radio 780 AM: “The CEV joins the Venezuelan government and State in sharing this painful situation of the death of the President of the Republic and joins all the Venezuelan people because he was the President of all Venezuelans.”

He also called for calm in the population. “The CEV is ready to cooperate so that national life can unfold with great good sense, serenity and calm in a situation that is difficult to manage. We call on the Venezuelan people to maintain, as they have up to now, good sense and good conduct.”

He avoided being specific about who should be Venezuela’s interim President. “All this is established in the Constitution and up to now we haven’t witnessed any conflicts. The Constitution has already pointed out the way,” he specified.

The Venezuelan government will hold a State funeral in memory of the deceased President Hugo Chavez on Friday, March 8, informed on Tuesday night the Vice-President and Foreign Minister, Elias Jaua, who also declared seven days of official mourning.

The ceremony will be held at 10:00 am (local time) at Caracas’ Military Academy, in the same place where the funeral chapel will be installed today. The President’s body will be taken there from the hospital where he spent the last two weeks. The funeral cortege will go through the streets of the Venezuelan capital in what is expected to be attended by many. (Venezuelan Apostate Will Offer Mass for Deceased President.)

There are just a few minor problems with what "Cardinal" Usosa said yesterday.

First, death does not necessarily "open the way to a full, happy life with God the Father." With death comes the Particular Judgment, and man such as Chavez, who is having a state-sponsored and conducted funeral in the mode of Soviet, Chinese and Vietnamese Communists (and, of course, the pagans of Roman antiquity), may not have had such a swell time at the terrible moment that comes to us all.

He is on the path to a "full, happy life with God the Father"?

Yes, Usosa did not say this in so many words about Chavez, true enough. He did, though, make it appear as though he believes in the universal salvation that was taught by the apostate emeritus's mentor, the late Hans Urs von Balthasar (see Proud Of His Blasphemy And Of His Blaspheming Mentor) and that is near and dear to another of his proteges, Angelo Scola, the conciliar "archbishop" of Milan and Communion and Liberation's candidate to succeed Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, who was closely linked to this heretical, revolutionary "movement" from its very beginnings (so many "movements," so many "cardinals" to support).

Oh, just one more thing on this point, "Cardinal" Usosa, those in Heaven enjoy the glory of the Beatific Vision of the Most Blessed Trinity--God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost," not just God the Father. You might want to brush up on your copy of the Summa Theologica, especially on this Feast of Saint Thomas Aquinas in the Catholic Church of which you are not a member.

Second, "Cardinal" Usosa uttered a grave heresy when he said last month, as reported in this news story, when exhorted his countrymen to attend Holy Mass which is the memorial of the glorious Resurrection of Jesus Christ."

Excuse me, "Cardinal" Usosa, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is the unbloody re-presentation of perpetual of Our Lord's one Sacrifice of Himself to His Co-Equal and Co-Eternal Father in spirit and in truth in atonement for human sins:

Forasmuch as, under the former Testament, according to the testimony of the Apostle Paul, there was no perfection, because of the weakness of the Levitical priesthood; there was need, God, the Father of mercies, so ordaining, that another priest should rise, according to the order of Melchisedech, our Lord Jesus Christ, who might consummate, and lead to what is perfect, as many as were to be sanctified. He, therefore, our God and Lord, though He was about to offer Himself once on the altar of the cross unto God the Father, by means of his death, there to operate an eternal redemption; nevertheless, because that His priesthood was not to be extinguished by His death, in the last supper, on the night in which He was betrayed,--that He might leave, to His own beloved Spouse the Church, a visible sacrifice, such as the nature of man requires, whereby that bloody sacrifice, once to be accomplished on the cross, might be represented, and the memory thereof remain even unto the end of the world, and its salutary virtue be applied to the remission of those sins which we daily commit,--declaring Himself constituted a priest for ever, according to the order of Melchisedech, He offered up to God the Father His own body and blood under the species of bread and wine; and, under the symbols of those same things, He delivered (His own body and blood) to be received by His apostles, whom He then constituted priests of the New Testament; and by those words, Do this in commemoration of me, He commanded them and their successors in the priesthood, to offer (them); even as the Catholic Church has always understood and taught. For, having celebrated the ancient Passover, which the multitude of the children of Israel immolated in memory of their going out of Egypt, He instituted the new Passover, (to wit) Himself to be immolated, under visible signs, by the Church through (the ministry of) priests, in memory of His own passage from this world unto the Father, when by the effusion of His own blood He redeemed us, and delivered us from the power of darkness, and translated us into his kingdom. And this is indeed that clean oblation, which cannot be defiled by any unworthiness, or malice of those that offer (it); which the Lord foretold by Malachias was to be offered in every place, clean to his name, which was to be great amongst the Gentiles; and which the apostle Paul, writing to the Corinthians, has not obscurely indicated, when he says, that they who are defiled by the participation of the table of devils, cannot be partakers of the table of the Lord; by the table, meaning in both places the altar. This, in fine, is that oblation which was prefigured by various types of sacrifices, during the period of nature, and of the law; in as much as it comprises all the good things signified by those sacrifices, as being the consummation and perfection of them all.

And forasmuch as, in this divine sacrifice which is celebrated in the mass, that same Christ is contained and immolated in an unbloody manner, who once offered Himself in a bloody manner on the altar of the cross; the holy Synod teaches, that this sacrifice is truly propritiatory and that by means thereof this is effected, that we obtain mercy, and find grace in seasonable aid, if we draw nigh unto God, contrite and penitent, with a sincere heart and upright faith, with fear and reverence. For the Lord, appeased by the oblation thereof, and granting the grace and gift of penitence, forgives even heinous crimes and sins. For the victim is one and the same, the same now offering by the ministry of priests, who then offered Himself on the cross, the manner alone of offering being different. The fruits indeed of which oblation, of that bloody one to wit, are received most plentifully through this unbloody one; so far is this (latter) from derogating in any way from that (former oblation). Wherefore, not only for the sins, punishments, satisfactions, and other necessities of the faithful who are living, but also for those who are departed in Christ, and who are not as yet fully purified, is it rightly offered, agreeably to a tradition of the apostles. (Council of Trent, Twenty-second Session, September 17, 1562.)

Precision of speech matters, "Cardinal" Usosa.

Precision, however, is far from the minds of men who rejected the Scholasticism of Saint Thomas Aquinas, which is why the men who have gathered in Rome represent nothing other than a collection of apostates as not one of them possess the Catholic Faith in all of her Holy Integrity. Not one.

Third, Pope Pius XI taught us that no one can be a true socialist and a sincere Christian at the time same. He also forbade all cooperation with Communism at any time for any reason:

We make this pronouncement: Whether considered as a doctrine, or an historical fact, or a movement, Socialism, if it remains truly Socialism, even after it has yielded to truth and justice on the points which we have mentioned, cannot be reconciled with the teachings of the Catholic Church because its concept of society itself is utterly foreign to Christian truth. . . .

120. If Socialism, like all errors, contains some truth (which, moreover, the Supreme Pontiffs have never denied), it is based nevertheless on a theory of human society peculiar to itself and irreconcilable with true Christianity. Religious socialism, Christian socialism, are contradictory terms; no one can be at the same time a good Catholic and a true socialist. (Pope Pius XI, Quadragesimo Anno, May 15, 1931.)

58. See to it, Venerable Brethren, that the Faithful do not allow themselves to be deceived! Communism is intrinsically wrong, and no one who would save Christian civilization may collaborate with it in any undertaking whatsoever. Those who permit themselves to be deceived into lending their aid towards the triumph of Communism in their own country, will be the first to fall victims of their error. And the greater the antiquity and grandeur of the Christian civilization in the regions where Communism successfully penetrates, so much more devastating will be the hatred displayed by the godless. (Pope Pius XI, Divini Redemptoris, March 19, 1937.)

What reason do you give for offering public words of "comfort" upon the death of the socialist monster and collaborator with Communist regimes named Hugo Chavez? To keep "peace" in Venezuela, riven with division caused by Chavez's crass exercise of class warfare and totalitarianism that has served as a perfect model for Barack Hussein Obama? It is better to say nothing than to give scandal by announcing that you are going to stage a putative offering of Holy Mass for Hugo Chavez. The man excommunicated himself from the Catholic Church by his socialist beliefs and his collaboration with Communism.

Good night, "Cardinal" Usosa.

Not to be left out of this madness is the oldest member of the upcoming conclave, Walter Kasper (see Forever Prowling the World Seeking the Ruin of Souls, part 1, Forever Prowling the World Seeking The Ruin of Souls, part 2, Madness Writ Large, Kasper's Brag and, among many others, When Apostates Are Two of a Kind), who gave his own interview to Rome's La Repubblica newspaper yesterday:

Q: Your Eminence, what will you say to Benedict XVI when, following the end of the conclave, you go meet him?

A: "So many things. The first one is a recommendation. I will suggest to him to not let himself be used by anybody. The risk is too great that the government of the Church receive his influence. He made a specific choice, that supposed a step back. He, therefore, ought to be discreet. Avoid mingling with the problems related to the government of the Church. Then I will speak amicably with him of what pleases us both, theology." (Antipope Emeritus Receives Gag Order from Fellow German Apostate Kasper.)

You gotta love these conciliar revolutionaries. These guys are just a barrel of laughs as they make a mockery of themselves by their own words and deeds, each of which shows to all those who have the eyes to see that they are not members of the Catholic Church. Indeed, the only kind of "theology" that Kasper and Ratzinger know is the "new theology" that was condemned by Pope Pius XII in Humani Generis, August 12, 1950.

What about Timothy Dolan?

Thanks for asking.

Well, the last I heard was that he was still giving that radio interview. He does love the limelight, doesn't he?

So do they all, something that they will find has done them no good when the light of Divine Justice is shone upon them at the moment of their Particular Judgments lest their repent of their blasphemies, sacrileges and apostasies and publicly abjure them before they die, something for which we must pray every day.

It is very late (or early) once again. I need to get a few hours of sleep.

Pray your Rosaries.

Offer up all of the problems of the moment to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Trust that Holy Mother Church will be restored in a miraculous manner willed by God in His good time, recognizing that we are called to suffer this current chastisement with joy and gratitude as we seek to reparation unto Him through the same Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary for our sins and those of the whole world.
