On the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary (2019)

Today is the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, always the humble handmaid of the Lord who humbled herself this day, the last day of Christmastide, which ends after Holy Mass today, by submitting to the rituals of the law although she was not in need of such a ritualistic purification because of her Perpetual Virginity.

This is the day that Our Lady presented her Divine Son, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, in the same Temple where He would be found twelve years later answering questions of the rabbis, the same Temple whose curtain would be torn in two from top to bottom as He breathed His last on the wood of the Holy Cross to redeem us, thereby signifying the permanent end of the Old Covenant and the supersession of Judaism by Catholicism as the true religion. The aged Simeon, who waited patiently every day in the Temple for the fulfillment of the promise that God had made to him, that he would not die before his eyes had seen and his arms had beheld the Messiah, sent the first Sword of Sorrow plunging through Our Lady's Sorrowful and and Immaculate Heart when he prophesied that the Child he beheld would be destined for the rise and for the fall of man, a sign to be opposed, a Sign of Contradiction. We must never fear to be signs of contradiction in our own lives in imitation of the THE Sign of Contradiction, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, as He hung on the wood of the Holy Cross to redeem us as he was mocked and reviled by the very people from whose stock He had taken His Sacred Humanity.

We must be willing to suffer all manner of calumny and humiliation for the many times that we have preferred human respect to fidelity to Our Lord, for the many times we have refused to call upon Our Lady's maternal intercession, for the many times we have refused to "take sides," especially in our day by refusing to reject conciliarism and its ravenous wolves once and for all.

In case you missed it, a very long commentary was posted less than twenty-four hours ago. Please scroll below.

Prepare for the Coming Persecution

With gratitude to the relatively few people who access this site, here is the commentary on which I have been working for most of the past six days, including all day yesterday, Thursday, January 31, 2019, the Feast of Saint Ignatius of Antioch, into the early hours of today, Friday, February 1, 2019, the Feast of Saint Ignatius of Antioch and the First Friday of the month of February. It took over two hours just to format this commentary for posting on this site after the text had been completed.

This new commentary is very long (over eighty pages in single-spaced, twelve-point Times New Roman font in a Word document) and contains links to many news stories, commentaries and some of my own articles.

One of the things that I have not done in recent days is to access any other Catholic websites as I especially wanted to compose my own commentary, which is included in Part VIII, on Jorge Mario Bergoglio’s non-answer to a stupid question that was posed to him by Fraulein Lena Klimkeit of the German Press Agency (DPA) without being influenced by anyone else’s writing. Additionally, I wanted to concentrate on my own response to Timothy Michael Dolan’s comments and newspaper column without reading the work of others apart from the initial news stories about them.

The commentary is broken into the various parts after a brief introductory text:

I.                   Sin and Illegal Immigration

II.                 Using Civil Law as the Cloak for Injustice and Political Revolution by the “Educated” (Robert Mueller and Roger Stone)

III.              Conciliar Officials Enable Killers in Public Life (the New York Baby-Killing Law and Like Efforts in Vermont and Virginia)

IV.              Timothy Michael Dolan Prefers More of What Has Failed: “Dialogue” With the Catholic Merchants of Death

V.                The Conciliar Echo Chamber of Making a Moral Equivalency Between Baby-Killing, Illegal Immigration, Protecting the Environment and the Death Penalty (Timothy Michael Dolan’s New York Post column)

VI.              Not Politicians or Cultural Warriors, Timothy Michael Dolan?

VII.           VII. The Time of Persecution is Upon Us (Nathan Phillips, Covington Catholic High School Students, Roger Joseph Foys, John Stowe, the Epistle of Saint Jude)

VIII.        Jorge Emphasizes the Emotive, Not Objective Truth

IX.              Conclusion: With a Firm Reliance Upon and A Confident Trust in Our Lady’s Intercessory Power

Yes, I suppose that I written a small book, and it is my specific intention to publish as such (along with three other commentaries on this site) as the long-postponed second volume of “Restoring Christ as the King of All Nations.”

Also, Mrs. Randy Engel, several of whose articles are referenced in the body of this new article, has sent out link to a new article in Chiesa Viva about the link between Opus Dei and Carlo Maria Vigano. Mrs. Engel also informed me that one of Opus Dei’s numeraries, José María Martínez Sanz, was recently sentenced to an eleven-year prison term for his perverted abuse of minors that took place at school at the Colegio Gaztelueta in Lejona, Vizcaya, Spain (those fluent in Spanish may read the story at Condenado a 11 anos de prision un profesor de un colegio del Opus de Biakaia por abus sexuales.)

Well, I think that I have given you just a little bit of reading material. Thus, if you will not mind, apart from republished commentaries and an occasional news article as time permits, I am going to concentrate on getting out a few books as overt persecution is around the corner, so to speak, and websites such as this one may not be permitted to exist for too many years longer.

Finally, yes, we are still in need of non-tax-deductible financial gifts from those who have not made any recently.

Thank you for your patience.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Saint Ignatius of Antioch, pray for us.

Saint John Bosco: Ever Zealous for Souls Until the End

oday is the Feast of the great Saint John Bosco, to whom we are very devoted. This is a revised reflection on an extraordinary priest who had a zeal for the salvation of souls in his youth, a zeal that would last until he died on this date in 1888, one hundred twenty-eight years ago.

Saint John Bosco stands a rebuke to everything that manner in which the conciliar revolutionaries refuse to seek converts to what they think is the Catholic Church and the manner in which they reaffirm unrepentant sinners in lives that could lead them to Hell for all eternity if they do not go to Confession and amend their lives. This brief reflection, written about nine years ago now, is an effort to capture the spirit of this magnificent teacher of the young, mystic and zealous apostle of souls.

Finally, yes, I believe that the next original article will appear tomorrow, the Feast of Saint Ignatius of Antioch. There is still much work remaining before it can be posted. However, I do believe that the commentary will be completed late today, Thursday, January 31, 2019, and then formatted for posting. Thank you for your patience.

Update on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, the Feast of Saint Martina

Although I had hoped to have my next commentary completed by this time, two things happened yesterday (in addition to the necessity of dealing with the two rear tires on our poor excuse of a relatively new automobile) that have added to the work:

First, I made the mistake of looking on the Catholic News Agency website to find a transcript of Jorge Mario Bergoglio's in-flight interview as he returned to the Occupied Vatican on the West Bank of the Tiber River following World Apostasy Day in Panama. As part of the new commentary deals with the monstrous legislation passed by the New York State Legislature and signed into law by Andrew Mark Cuomo on January 23, 2019, the Feast of Saint Raymond of Pennafort and the Commemoration of Saint Emerentiana, the false "pontiff's" emotive comments about baby-killing, which focused exclusively on women who pay to have their babies killed grieving the loss of their children, whom he presumes to be in Heaven and thus makes it appear that it is no big deal to kill them as they are enjoying Paradise have to be dealt with at some length. This will be done late today and then all day Thursday, the Feast of Saint John Bosco.

Second, it was while waiting for the new tires to be installed that I read an equally emotive column written by Timothy Michael Dolan, who wondered why Democrats wanted to alienate Catholic voters about abortion, which he called a difficult "choice" for women (hey, you moron at 1011 First Avenue in Manhattan, no one has the right from God to "choose" to do anything about a preborn baby other than to love him and to nurture him as the conception of a child, which is meant to take place exclusively in the married state, is what God intends to occur as the fruit of that which is proper to the married state; there is no decision to be made, only a child to be loved), while he praised the statists for their otherwise "progressive" agenda items such as the "DREAM Act," prison reform and "voters rights" act. Mind you, this is the same "historian" who once said to Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro, "We Want To Be With You".

So, you see, I have some more work to do on my commentary, which is entitled "Prepare for the Coming Persecution."

Finally, I am not unmindful of the fact that the last two original commentaries on this site have been very long. However, I have tried to make them more digestible by segmenting them by means of centered captions so that readers can return to them after reading one section and then going on to something else. I do not expect anyone to read my articles from beginning to end in one sitting. A great deal of time is spent in composing these articles to provide those who want to read them with a variety of resources, which is why many of my commentaries, including the past two and the one being written at this time, is something along the lines of a miniature book. Books can be put down and taken up again.

This having been noted, however, I do want to publish the next commentary as a completed project rather than in separate parts. I think that readers will understand why after the commentary is posted.

Thank you for your patience.

Saint Francis de Sales: Apostle of Charity and Zealous Foe of Calvinism

Today, Tuesday, January 29, 2019, is the Feast of Saint Francis de Sales.

I am hereby republishing a brief and woefully indequate account of the Apostle of Charity and zealous foe of Calvinism.

Although I worked all day on Sunday and Monday on the next original article, which is already over thirty pages in length, there is still yet more work on it to do before it can be posted. I do hope that, after seeking to raise funds privately to pay for two new rear tires, which are bald (one is flat) even though there are only 24,000 miles on them, after having had to purchase two tires for the front last week, to have the article posted within twenty-four hours of this republished article. Thank you for your patience.

Saint Paul the Apostle: Converted by Our Lord, Whose Disciples He Persecuted

Today is the Feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul the Apostle and the Commemoration of Saint Peter. Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ personally intervened to effect the conversion of the fire-breathing hater and persecutor of Catholics, Saul of Tarsus. By so doing, of course, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity made Man in His Most Blessed Mother's Virginal and Immaculate Womb by the power of the Third Person of the Most Blessed Trinity, God the Holy Ghost, violated the counterfeit church of conciliarism's prohibition of proselytism. Saul of Tarsus did not seek out Our Lord, but was sought out by Him so that he would become Saint Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles one of twin pillars of the Church of Rome along with the first pope himself, Saint Peter the Apostle.

The next original article on this site, which will deal in part with the persecution of the students of Covington High who were confronted by a professional Native American agitator after the March for Life a week ago today, January 18, 2019, the Feast of the Chair of Saint Peter in Rome and the Commemorations of Saint Paul and of Saint Prisca, and in part with two other subjeccts, should be posted no later than Sunday, January 27, 2019, the Third Sunday after the Epiphany and the Commemoration of Saint John Chyrsostom (as well as the sixty-seventh anniversary of my own baptism at the hands of Father John Dushan at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Queens Village, New York, after spending the first two months, three days of my life after birth as a pagan baby). Thank you for your patience.

Finally, there is little that I can say to those displeased with my last two orginal articles on this site. No matter the agitations of the moment and the "good intentions" of those steeped in one naturalist myth after another, Catholicism is the only means of human salvation and of genuine social order founded in the pursuit of the common temporal good in light of man's Last End. Agitation will always be the lot of pluralist, religiously indifferentist states. The only way out of the mess that the world is in runs through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, and I will keep repeating this until I die or am unable to continue my writing before death.

Our Lady, Queen of the Apostles, pray for us.

Saint Paul, pray for us.

Sobering Truths at a Time Men Are Drunk with Naturalism (or, in other words, Sober Up, part 14)

This is being posted at a very late (or early) hour and time and physical strength permit only a brief introduction about the new commentary, which is about many of the events in the farcical world of naturalism that have unfolded in recent months.

Although not quite as long as Catholicism, Not Machiavellianism, Is the Sole Guide to the Just Social Order, the new article is long and very detailed, containing many links to relevant news stories and commentaries. As always, of course, the goal of this commentary is help the relatively few readers of this website to view the world through the eyes of the true Faith without being in a constant state of agitation about the chastisements of the moment, which will pass in God’s good time when men return to Him as consecrated slaves of His Most Blessed Mother’s Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart and renounce their errors and seek to do penance for their sins.

The attack on the students from Covington Catholic High School, which receives a parenthetical reference in this new commentary, will be the subject of the next original commentary on this site.

The American Genocide of the Preborn: Forty-Six Years of Endless Compromise and Indifference

[Update on Sunday evening, January 20, 2019, the Second Sunday after the Epiphany and the Commemoration of Saint Prisca.

[I was making superb progress on my next article until we had a backup of "black water" (an old term from our days in the motor home that we sold nearly eight years ago) inside the house. The septic man came out today and told us that we have three five hundred gallon tanks. I had raised enough privately to clean out one tank as I did not know we had three. Thus it is that I need to make an appeal to those who have the means to make a non-tax-deductible donation and who support the work of this website to do so as the septic man is coming out again tomorrow, the Feast of Saint Agnes, to clean out the two remaining tanks. Thank you for your consideration and your prompt response.

[More work will be done on the next article this evening. Under the circumstances, though, I may not be able to post it untl late Tueday evening.]

Today’s article has been adapated and revised to place the upcoming forty-sixth anniversary of the decisions of the Supreme Court in the cases of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, January 22, 1973, in an historical context as the March for Life takes place in Washington, District of Colubmia today, Friday, January 18, 2019, the Feast of the Chair of Saint Peter in Rome and the Commemoration of Saint Paul and of Saint Prisca.

This commentary contains an excerpt from an allocution, which was included also in yesterday's commentary, given by Pope Pius XII that reminded Catholics they are never to support a single, solitary exception to the inviolability of innocent human life. Within the allocution is a moving story about a mother who sacrificed her own life in 1905 rather than to kill the child in her womb. The mother’s prayers from eternity won the daughter to whom she gave life shortly before she, the mother, died to the religious life. This is the sort of sacrifice that is foreign to the mind of Jorge Mario Bergoglio, and it unknown to almost all "pro-life" naturalists, including President Donald John Trump, whose Mexico City Policy last year contained "exceptions" that both offensive to truth and actually needless from a medical standpoint.

Mind you, given all that is going on now with the government shutdown and the President's masterful letter to the egregious Nancy Patricia D'Alesandro Pelosi that was simply laugh-out funny (as I told Sharon after reading the president's invitation for Pelosi to fly commercial on her planned excursion at taxpayer expense, "What's she going to do? Take Kabul Air to go into Afghanistan?), I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Trump actually shows up in person at the March for Life and walks with it for a while en route to the Capitol.

We pray in reparation today for the ongoing chemical and surgical slaughter of the preborn in the United States of America and around the world. We pray for the restoration of the Social Reign of Christ the King and of Our Lady, Immaculate Queen, as the fruit of the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

The next original article, which is the long-delayed commentary on the elections of November 6, 2018, and their aftermath, has about seven or eight hours more of work before it is completed. It is my hope to have it published by tomorrow, January 19, 2019, Our Lady's Saturday in Christmastide and the Commemorations of Saints Marius, Martha, Abucham and Audix and of Saint Canute, King of Denmark. It is, however, possible that the article may not appear until Sunday, January 20, 2019, the Second Sunday after the Epiphany and the Commemoration of Saints Fabian and Sebastian. It will not be as long as , but it is very detailed nevertheless.

By the way, this would be a nifty time for those who have the ability to make non-tax-deductible financial gifts to do so. Thank you for your consideration.

Catholicism, Not Machiavellianism, Is The Sole Guide to the Just Social Order

A great deal of time has been taken to produce this very long commentary, which runs at around fifty-two pages of text in twelve-point Times New Roman type according to the Word document on which it was written.

The subject matter of this commentary is one that is of great importance to me as one of the reasons that Christ or Chaos was started as print journal in 1996 and has been online for fifteen years come next month is to help Catholics to see the world clearly through the eyes of the true Faith and to provide them with access to what our true popes and other solid Catholic writers have taught about doing so.

The world as we know it is the product of a welter of anti-Incarnational errors, many of which date back to the Renaissance well before Martin Luther’s revolution against the Divine Plan that God instituted to effect man’s return to Him through His Catholic Church permitted the errors of Renaissance writers to gain the cover of theological “respectability.”

One of the chief progenitors of error prior to Martin Luther was the apostle of amorality, Niccolo Machiavelli, whose writings about divorcing morality from statecraft was the subject of a recent commentary by Dr. James Piereson, a Senior Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, concerning how best to view the character and governing strategy of President Donald John Trump. However, Machiavellianism is evil no matter who employs it as there is never an instance in which the binding precepts of the Divine Positive Law and the Natural Law may be suspended.

Moreover, Dr. Piereson invoked the authority of the anti-Catholic named James Madison, who claimed in The Federalist, Number Ten, that it is the conflict of interests and the multiplicity of sets that are the best guarantors of human liberty against the tyranny of a majority. (Truth-in-advertising: although I have always rejected a multiplicity of sects, I am afraid that I was sympathetic to The Federalist, Number Ten, in my misspent youth as a defender of the American founding, something that I began to recognize as erroneous at the age of thirty-five in 1986.)

No, the Cross of the Divine Redeemer is the one and only genuine standard of human liberty. Nothing.

My next original commentary, which may not appear until Wednesday or Thursday of this week, will be my long-postponed commentary on the elections of two months ago and what has transpired in their wake.

Vivat Christus Rex!

On the Feast of the Holy Family in 2019

Today is the Feast of the Holy Family of Nazareth as there is no intervening Sunday within the Octave of te Epiphany of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ this year.

Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ chose to become Man in His Most Blessed Mother's Virginal and Immaculate Womb by the power of the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity, God the Holy Ghost, and place Himself, the Co-Equal and Co-Eternal Son of God the Father, under subjection to mere creatures His Most Blessed Mother, the fairest flower of our race, and to Good Saint Joseph, his foster-father.

The subjection of the God-Man to the authority of His Most Blessed Mother and his foster-father, whom He had chosen from all eternity to provide Him with the earthly love and care and stewardship of a father seeking only to please God with his every thought, word and deed, teaches us that we, who came from families and who, in many instances, are raising families of our own, must be subject to all legitimate authority, duly constituted, in all things that do not pertain to sinful commands. Children are supposed to learn this subjection in the household from their tenderest days, seeing in their fathers the image of Saint Joseph and in their mothers the image of Our Lady.

Children are supposed to realize that God in the very Flesh obeyed His creatures in the Holy Family of Nazareth. So must they.

Parents must, for their part, foster an atmosphere within the family of selflessness, charity, forgiveness and joy, centering the family's life on daily assistance at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass (if at all possible), regular time spent in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, the daily recitation of Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary, supplications to Our Lady's Most Chaste Spouse, Saint Joseph, home enthronement to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Total Consecration to Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the same Immaculate Heart of Mary, Scriptural reading and family reading time, especially about the lives of the saints, and a refusal to participate in the rot of popular culture.

This requires sacrifice and the willingness to be misunderstood, calumniated and rejected even by one's own family members as we protect our children from those cultural currents that come from the devil and are designed to lead each of us to Hell for all eternity. To eschew worldliness one must be ready to embrace the Holy Poverty of the Holy Family of Nazareth, detaching oneself from the material acquisitiveness of our consumer society, shaped by Judeo-Calvinist materialism, and to live in light of First Things and Last Things as we week to acquire the only thing that matters: Sanctifying Grace in this life and eternal life in the glory of the Beatific Vision of Father, Son and Holy Ghost in Heaven. Finally, yes, the next article is nearly completion. Thanks for your patience.

The next original article for this has "turned a corner," so to speak, and will be published this evening. It is a long commentary. I thank you for your patience.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, we love you, save souls!

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, pray for us now and in death's agony.

A blessed Feast of the Holy Family of Nazareth to you all.
