Although President Trump appointed the founder and former President of the Children’s Health Defense organization to be Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), he also appointed Susan Summerall Wiles to be his White House Chief of Staff at the same time.

On April 26, former president Donald Trump revisited one of his most controversial pet projects: Operation Warp Speed.

This time, he dragged his political opponent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. into the fray.

“His Views on Vaccines are FAKE, as is everything else about his Candidacy,” wrote the former president about Kennedy in a post on Truth Social.

This ignited significant backlash from Trump’s base, highlighting the extent to which they disagree with him on COVID-19 vaccines.

Operation Warp Speed, which expedited the development and rollout of experimental gene therapy products in response to COVID-19, saw unprecedented profits for Pfizer and Moderna, as noted by senator Bernie Sanders.

Speed came at the cost of compromised clinical trials, with needles entering arms under Emergency Use Authorization with only two months of safety data on the FDA’s books.

As a result, tens of thousands of Americans report suffering vaccine injuries, as even The New York Times is now reporting.

Given the increasingly vocal opposition to the COVID-19 vaccination program, including among his base, why does Trump continue to demand acclaim for his role in pushing the shots through?

We find the answer in Susie Wiles, who appears to be the connective tissue between Trump and Big Pharma.

Wiles is a soft-spoken, approachable grandmother figure with a long career specializing in political machinations.

Daughter of legendary NFL play-by-play man Pat Summerall, Wiles’ early work in Republican politics earned her the label “indispensable,” both to her clients and the media, to whom she frequently leaks inside information.

As Politico admits, her allegiances are not clear: “The Wiles M.O… was and remains hard for [her colleagues] to describe.”

Wiles is also a seasoned lobbyist; her LinkedIn profile summarizes her leadership roles at multiple corporate and political lobbying firms since the mid-1980s, allowing her to sway Trump’s psyche with her conflicts of interest.

Wiles became co-chair of lobbying firm Mercury Public Affairs in February 2022.

An unvaccinated federal health official who worked under Dr. Anthony Fauci in 2021 worried that he might lose his job and medical license after he questioned COVID-19 vaccines and mandates, newly revealed emails show.

Dr. Matthew Memoli, a physician-scientist and infectious disease researcher who led the Clinical Studies Unit at the Laboratory of Infectious Diseases during the COVID-19 pandemic, directly communicated his concerns about the vaccines to Fauci, according to emails obtained by The Epoch Times through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

In an email to Fauci, Memoli wrote:

“At best what we are doing with mandated mass vaccination does nothing and the variants emerge evading immunity anyway as they would have without the vaccine. … At worst it drives evolution of the virus in a way that is different from nature and possibly detrimental, prolonging the pandemic or causing more morbidity and mortality than it should.”

The Laboratory of Infectious Diseases operates under the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), which Fauci directed from 1984 to 2022.

Memoli is now principal deputy director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), NIAID’s parent agency.

In addition to emailing Fauci, Memoli spoke publicly about his reservations about the COVID-19 vaccines and policies. In November 2021, he told The Wall Street Journal, “I think the way we are using the vaccines is wrong.”

The emails reveal that Memoli was concerned his comments would cost him his position at NIAID and his Washington, D.C., medical license.

In 2021, NIH blocked Memoli from participating in an interview with The Epoch Times. His written responses to The Epoch Times’ questions were included in the newly released FOIA documents.

Jeffrey Tucker, president and founder of the Brownstone Institute, said Memoli showed bravery in publicly questioning the COVID-19 shots and mandates.

“Dr. Memoli is a great hero because he resisted anti-science impositions when it mattered most,” Tucker said. “You cannot vaccinate your way out of a respiratory pandemic. Not possible. Many other scientists knew this, but Memoli was a rare case of a person who said what was true when the stakes were extremely high.”

‘Washington, DC directly threatened to take away my medical license’

According to the FOIA emails, Memoli was worried that he would face retaliation for questioning the COVID-19 vaccines and mandates, and also because he chose not to get the vaccine.

In response to questions from The Epoch Times — responses that the NIH subsequently blocked — Memoli wrote in a 2024 email:

“There were times when I was worried about losing my job especially when we first started receiving emails about [vaccine] mandate deadlines …

“I was concerned more about my medical license and not being able to continue to perform my job properly. Washington, DC directly threatened to take away my medical license which would have threatened my job (I need a medical license) so I applied for a Virginia license and protected myself that way.”

In the same series of responses, Memoli said that NIH never formally approved his request for a COVID-19 vaccine exemption.

“They let us twist in the wind worried about our jobs for a year, and then never even gave us a final approval which leaves us hanging if there is another mandate in the future,” Memoli wrote. “I feel this was done on purpose to try to coerce us into getting the vaccine and I consider it highly unethical and disappointing.”

Memoli suggested top officials at NIH and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) should apologize for imposing vaccine mandates, but said he knew he would “be waiting until hell freezes over” for an apology.

He wrote that he should have been “more aggressive” in trying to “help the agency avoid some of the mistakes” — including vaccine mandates — he felt it had made. But he was “worried” about his job security. He said he had “friends who felt coerced into accepting vaccination.”

In December 2021, Memoli spoke at the “Ethics Grand Rounds,” with several NIH officials and NIH Department of Bioethics personnel in attendance. During the speech, he questioned the need for a vaccine mandate.

According to the emails, several colleagues thanked Memoli for his remarks — but others spoke in favor of mandates at the event or privately criticized Memoli’s stance.

Danielle Baker, a former certified hospice and palliative care registered nurse, was injured after her employer coerced her into getting the COVID-19 vaccine in 2021. She told The Defender, “The Biden era policies allowing what was essentially forced vaccination normalized a hostile work environment.”

‘The injured have been discarded’

In 2022, Children’s Health Defense (CHD) submitted a FOIA request to the NIH for copies of the agency’s communications with people injured after getting the COVID-19 shot.

In April 2023, CHD sued the NIH to obtain the records after the NIH failed to respond to the FOIA request. In an October 2023 settlement, the NIH agreed to produce up to 7,500 pages of documents. These documents, released in 2023 and 2024, showed:

Fauci was aware that COVID-19 vaccines were causing serious injuries within days of the vaccines’ rollout in December 2020, but ignored these reports.
Reports of injuries and deaths following COVID-19 vaccination — including a child injured by the Pfizer vaccine during a clinical trial and a fatal vaccine-induced case of myocarditis — reached Fauci, NIH researchers and other public health officials in 2021 and 2022.
U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials Dr. Janet Woodcock and Peter Marks, M.D., Ph.D., then-director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, knew about COVID-19 vaccine injuries in early 2021 but continued to promote the shots as “safe and effective.”
FDA officials blew off scheduled meetings with COVID-19 vaccine injury victims and eventually stopped corresponding with the victims.
As early as January 2022, NIH researchers were aware of at least 850 peer-reviewed case reports and/or research articles about COVID-19 vaccine reactions.

Brianne Dressen, who was injured during AstraZeneca’s 2020 U.S. clinical trials for its COVID-19 vaccine, co-founded React19, an advocacy group for people injured by the COVID-19 vaccines. Dressen participated in some of the meetings and communications with federal health officials.

Dressen said it’s “no surprise that the vaccine-injured were sounding the alarm from the outside while medical researchers like Dr. Memoli were doing so from within.”

“What is difficult to reconcile, is just how many warnings were ignored,” she said. “These alarms were not isolated, they came from credible scientists, physicians, policymakers, and patients desperately seeking acknowledgment and help.”

Dr. Danice Hertz, a retired gastroenterologist injured by Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, sought help from Fauci and other NIH and NIAID officials shortly after her vaccine injury in December 2020, but said she was “met with complete dismissal.”

Hertz said she was not surprised that Fauci ignored Memoli’s concerns. Hertz said her concerns were ignored — and continue to be ignored. She said:

“I have over 200 pages of correspondence and was met with complete dismissal. I filed 11 VAERS [Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System] reports that were ignored. Many other vaccine-injured shouted from the rooftops with me about our injuries and to this day have been ignored by our regulatory agencies. They have disregarded and maligned us. There has been much physical suffering and no help forthcoming.

“The public and medical community continue to be uninformed about COVID-19 vaccine harms. The injured have been discarded.”

Fauci to testify before Congress after releasing several 2020 emails showing Fauci instructed colleagues to delete messages after reading them. As the thirty-seventh President of the United States of America was wont to say, make no mistake about it, the “vaccines” developed under Operation Warp Speed were designed to be instruments of depopulation as part of the transhumanist “Global Reset.”

The number of “sudden deaths, “unexpected deaths,” deaths following “short illnesses” and like descriptions, especially among adolescents and young adults, is unprecedented, and the evidence continues to mount concerning the damage that the mRNA jabs do the hearts of those young people here in the United States and elsewhere around the world:

Teenagers were up to five times more likely to develop myocarditis and pericarditis, and up to 10 times more likely to experience an anaphylactic reaction shortly after receiving an initial two-dose series of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, according to a new peer-reviewed study.

The study, published last week in Scientific Reports, also found an increased risk of appendicitis, epilepsy and convulsions, and lymphadenopathy — or swollen lymph nodes — in teens who received two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 shots.

The study was conducted by 13 Norwegian researchers using data from the Norwegian Patient Registry and the Norwegian Cause of Death Registry.

The researchers examined the data for 496,432 teenagers ages 12-19 in Norway — both vaccinated and unvaccinated — to analyze the short- and mid-term safety of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines among teenagers.

Key findings included:

A fivefold higher rate of myocarditis and pericarditis among teenagers following the second dose (adjusted incidence rate ratio of 5.27) compared to unvaccinated teens.
A 37-fold higher rate of myocarditis and pericarditis among 12- to 15-year-olds who received the two-dose series, albeit among a small number of cases.
An approximately tenfold higher rate of anaphylactic reactions after the second dose, though based on a small number of cases.
A 65% higher risk of epilepsy and convulsions in infection-free teenagers who received the two-dose series.
A 47% higher risk of acute appendicitis nearly two months (56 days) after completing the two-dose COVID-19 vaccine series.
The incidence of adverse events increased after the second dose, with fewer reports occurring after the first dose.

Heart conditions were primarily identified among 18- to 19-year-olds, known to be a high-risk group for conditions like myocarditis.

The study did not identify any vaccine-related deaths and found “no statistically significant associations with all-cause mortality” within 28 days of receiving the two doses.

German Tapia, Ph.D., a researcher with the Norwegian Institute of Public Health and one of the co-authors of the study, told The Epoch Times that “the number of observed outcomes and statistically significant associations were generally low, with some exceptions.”

However, Dr. Clayton J. Baker, an internal medicine physician, said the study “provides further confirmation that the second dose increases the toxicity of the product dramatically. It also confirms that the COVID-19 mRNA shots cause myocarditis in adolescents.”

The authors of the study said the findings “confirm the SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccine safety.” But several vaccine safety experts disagreed.

“The results of this study are consistent with multiple prior studies showing significant increased risk of myocarditis, as well as several other severe adverse reactions, in adolescents who received the mRNA COVID-19 shots, especially after second doses,” Baker said.

Baker said the “statistically significant, tenfold increased risk of anaphylaxis after the second dose is very alarming,” as it “indicates severe immune dysfunction in a significant number of children upon receiving a second dose.”

Steve Kirsch, founder of the Vaccine Safety Research Foundation, said the strongest risks identified in the study “were dose-dependent — largely occurring after the second dose.” He called this “biologically and causally meaningful” because it “strongly suggests that the vaccine caused the harm.”

Karl Jablonowski, Ph.D., senior research scientist for Children’s Health Defense (CHD), noted that many teenagers in the sample did not receive a second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and the decision not to receive a second dose — or to remain unvaccinated — may have saved lives.

“Refusal to get a second dose may have saved many of the youngest children from a disease of the heart,” Jablonowski said. “In the 28 days after 227,609 children and young adults received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, the authors expected one or two cases of myocarditis and pericarditis. They recorded 11.”

Study design undercounted adverse events, experts say

According to the researchers, the study’s primary limitation was that the adverse event outcomes identified were “rare” and led to “unreliable estimates.”

They said that “more adolescent studies are necessary” to further study age-specific adverse events, “especially in relation to new mRNA vaccines or boosters.”

But some experts questioned the researchers’ methodology and the conclusions they developed based on the study’s findings.

The researchers focused their primary analysis on adverse events within risk windows ranging from two to 56 days following vaccination, depending on the type of adverse event.

Experts suggested the 54-day range was too short to capture all possible vaccine-related injuries.

Baker said:

“The chosen risk windows for the diagnoses studied are suspect. Many seem arbitrary and too short. Fourteen days for appendicitis? The likely mechanism would be immune dysfunction followed by an infectious episode, which could easily take more than two weeks.

“Twenty-eight days for myocarditis? Symptoms could very plausibly take longer than one month to manifest.”

CHD Chief Scientific Officer Brian Hooker said that myocarditis and pericarditis “significantly increase long-term mortality in these individuals.”

“Around 25%-30% of these injuries will result in serious long-term sequelae in these patients,” Hooker said.

A 2024 study funded by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and published in The Lancet found that 60% of young people who were hospitalized with myocarditis after receiving an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine still showed signs of myocardial injury roughly six months after getting the shot.

The researchers briefly acknowledged the limitations of the short risk window they examined, observing “some statistically significant associations after the risk windows,” including “acute appendicitis, anaphylactic reaction, all-cause death, and myocarditis and pericarditis” when restricting the analysis to subjects without reported infections.

Similarly, the researchers observed some statistically significant links after the risk windows when focusing their analysis on the “age-stratified sensitivity analysis” — a secondary analysis the researchers performed that broke down the sample into smaller age brackets, with the intent to validate the main study’s results.

This analysis found statistically significant associations with adverse events, including all-cause death, acute appendicitis, facial nerve palsy and anaphylaxis.

Some experts noted that the study barely emphasized these negative findings.

“That’s not an academic oversight — it’s deliberate narrative control,” Kirsch said.

Kirsch suggested that the researchers “avoided even mentioning myocarditis in the abstract, aside from a vague phrase like ‘increased IRRs [incidence rate ratios] observed following second-dose vaccination’ — which could mean anything from swollen lymph nodes to mild fever.”

Baker said the researchers appear to have done this despite clear evidence of a link between mRNA COVID-19 vaccination, myocarditis and other conditions.

“The evidence is indisputable — the COVID-19 mRNA shots cause myocarditis in adolescents and young adults in statistically significant amounts. Furthermore, the increased risk of anaphylaxis is unacceptable,” Baker said.

“They know the vast majority of readers never look past the first page,” Kirsch said. “Instead of calling [the adverse events] a warning that demands broader sampling, they called them ‘insignificant due to rarity.’ That is indefensible.” (Teens 5 Times More Likely to Develop Heart Conditions After mRNA COVID Vaccines.)

The evidence of the harm being done by the Wuhan Virus “vaccines” as well as all other “vaccines” as well as to be considered anomalous. Although a lot of people still believe everything about the medical industry is just fine and that it is important to do whatever the doctors say to do without any questions or doubts, believing Catholics must inform themselves about the death-dealing ways of a “profession” that was once dedicated to the prevention of disease and the healing of sick patients according to the general understanding of the Hippocratic Oath:

Whatever houses I may visit, I will come for the benefit of the sick, remaining free of all intentional injustice, of all mischief and in particular of sexual relations with both female and male persons, be they free or slaves.

How far we have come within my own lifetime from the general practitioner who was concerned about keeping this Oath to help his patients and was on call around the clock even to make house calls if necessary to the days of corporatized medicine that is enslaved by Big Pharma, days in which there are “physicians” who kill preborn babies by surgical means every day for their lucrative profit, who administer “vaccines” that cause injuries of various kinds although they are taught never to admit the evidence before their very eyes, who declare living people “dead” so that their vital bodily organs can be vivisected for transplantation, who starve and dehydrate patients such as the late Theresa Marie Schindler-Schiavo to death, who are taught to “ease” patients said to be suffering from a reduced “quality of life” to death by means of “comfort care,” and who have gone so far in the past thirty years have gone from “assisting” people to committing to suicide to recommending that patients do so!

Consider the following case of an eighty-four year-old woman in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, who went into a hospital about her back pain and was offered euthanasia:

(LifeSiteNews) — An 84-year-old Canadian Catholic woman who was offered euthanasia while at a hospital despite not being deathly sick has spoken out, saying there was “no way” she was going to “take measures to end” her life.

The case concerns Miriam Lancaster, whose recent stay at Vancouver’s General Hospital was less than ideal.

As reported by LifeSiteNews, Lancaster was asked by doctors if she wanted “MAiD” (Medical Assistance in Dying). In a recent interview with “EWTN News Nightly,” Lancaster noted how “the very first thing” a young doctor told her at the hospital was “I would like to offer you MAID.”

In reply, she said “No, thank you,” adding, “I was certainly taken aback, and there were so many other things on my mind.”

Lancaster said she was “feeling fine” one day but the next day she got out of bed not feeling well and was in “horrendous pain.”

She mentioned that her husband was offered MAiD as well three years ago but refused.

“As practicing Catholics, there is no way that we are going to take measures to end our life. That is in the hands of the Lord,” she said.

“So he turned down MAID when he was in hospital, and a few years later, there I am in the same hospital, and I gave the same response.”

Lancaster said that after being moved to another hospital, she was told she had a tiny crack in a bone in her spine and that surgery wasn’t possible.

She later got well enough to go home, noting that she thought, “I’ve been given a second chance here. I am going to make the most of whatever time is left.”

As a result of getting better and refusing Canada’s death regime scheme, she went on trips to Mexico and Cuba with her daughter.

Stories like Lancaster’s have become commonplace in Canada since euthanasia was made legal in 2016 under the Liberal government of former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Indeed, as reported by LifeSiteNews, a Canadian man was euthanized just because he had partial blindness.

Some provinces, such as Alberta, are doing what they can to limit the availability of MAiD, which is federally mandated.

As reported by LifeSiteNews, recently, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith’s United Conservative Party (UCP) government was the first in a Canada to introduce a bill that would severely limit who can get euthanasia and ban it for minors. The UCP said that the bill is to “strengthen protections for vulnerable Albertans” as well as allow doctors and hospitals to refuse to offer assisted suicide.

In February 2024, the federal government delayed the mental illness expansion until 2027 after pushback from pro-life, medical, and mental health groups, as well as most of Canada’s provinces.

The Liberal government under Trudeau and current Prime Minister Mark Carney, however, has worked to expand euthanasia 13-fold since it was legalized in 2016. Canada now has the fastest-growing assisted-suicide program in the world. Meanwhile, Health Canada released a series of studies on advanced requests for assisted suicide.

Euthanasia is now the sixth-highest cause of death in Canada after it was not listed in Statistics Canada’s top 10 leading causes of death from 2019 to 2022. Yes, we have gone from Hippocrates’ “do no harm” and the Fifth Commandment’s “Thou shalt not kill” to a world where physicians, rather than obeying the true God of Divine Revelation, the Most Holy Trinity, and His Holy Catholic Church, play God and seek to destroy life as a first and only resort in all too many cases. A creeping nihilism has taken over the minds of physicians, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and others within the medical industry.

It was on October 27, 1987, that the State of Oregon, which has a long Judeo-Masonic history of anti-Catholicism (see Supreme Masters of Sophistry) and “progressivism,” became the first state in the United States of America to enact an “assisted suicide” law, which has become so institutionalized after nearly twenty-nine years that Oregon is now a “tourist” destination to commit suicide with “medical assistance”:

(LifeSiteNews) — More people are reportedly killing themselves with legally obtained drugs under Oregon’s so-called “Death with Dignity Act” which permits doctor-assisted suicide within the Pacific state.

“The number of prescriptions written for lethal medications increased about 5%, from 609 to 637” between 2024 and 2025, the Oregon Health Authority reported. This month the agency released its annual report for 2025.

The health authority also reported deaths have regularly increased since legislators legalized assisted suicide in 1998. Not everyone who is prescribed the drugs takes them, so prescriptions do not exactly correlate to deaths.

“Numbers of deaths from ingesting lethal doses of [assisted suicide] drugs also have stayed on an upward trajectory since Oregon began reporting data on participation in the Act in 1998.”

“What we’ve been seeing over the last several years is a steady overall increase in prescriptions and deaths among Death with Dignity Act participants,” Tom Jeanne, deputy state health officer, stated in a news release.

Recipients of the lethal drugs cited “loss of autonomy (89%), decreasing ability to participate in activities that made life enjoyable (89%), and loss of dignity (65%),” as their reasons for killing themselves.

The 2024 data show all recipients of the drugs had insurance and the most common diagnosis was cancer.

A state pro-life group criticized the increasing numbers and said the relative lack of psychological evaluations is a matter of significant concern.

“Once again, Oregon’s assisted suicide report shows that prescriptions of death-inducing drugs are tragically on the rise,” Oregon Right to Life Executive Director Lois Anderson said. “Last year – instead of being cared for and supported, assured that their lives have inherent value and meaning – 637 vulnerable people were prescribed drugs intended to cause their deaths.”

Oregon Right to Life found “[o]nly two patients were referred for psychological or psychiatric evaluation. Three had been referred for evaluation in 2024.” Anderson called this low number “deeply concerning.”

She said, “A patient’s request for suicide should always trigger a thorough mental health analysis,” and it is “unconscionable” that “vulnerable patients” did not receive what she described as “basic support.”

Still, Oregon has sought to become a travel hub for people who want to kill themselves.

“Patients from out of state now represent a notable percentage of those receiving the lethal prescriptions following Oregon Governor Tina Kotek’s 2023 removal of the state’s residency requirement,” Oregon Right to Life reported.

The group said, “37 people from outside Oregon received [assisted suicide] prescriptions in 2025, representing 6% of the total and an increase from 24 (4%) in 2024.”

Almost 3,700 people have killed themselves using the lethal drugs since Oregon legalized the barbaric practice in 1998, according to state data.

Assisted suicide is being abused, experts say

There is strong evidence to suggest that physician assisted suicide has been abused both in the United States and in other countries.

A 2017 report from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops found Oregon’s state insurance plan would pay for assisted suicide but not treatment. There was another similar example cited from California.

A separate 2018 report identified problems outside of the United States with countries that legalized assisted suicide.

Canadian veterans were reportedly offered assisted suicide despite not having a terminal illness. One veteran, who had post-traumatic stress disorder, called Veteran Affairs seeking help only to be encouraged to commit suicide.

The legalized killing of individuals with illnesses has attracted attention in recent months following an announcement by “Dilbert” cartoonist Scott Adams.

Adams, who was once a rabid supporter of legalized assisted suicide and euthanasia, considered killing himself due to a grim cancer diagnosis.

Thankfully, he changed his mind after contemplating the excessive pain he would have to go through as he suffered through hours waiting for the drugs to end his life. (Oregon assisted suicides 'tragically on the rise' as state becomes euthanasia travel hub.)

As I have noted on a number of occasions, including in a commentary published in The Wanderer when the Oregon assisted suicide bill was under consideration, arguing against euthanasia on purely natural terms is no defense against the power of sentimentality to trump rational thought. A culture of well-being seeks to anesthetize pain and all other unpleasant realities. Why should a person suffer when the truth of redemptive suffering is rejected as either fantastic or as just simply unrealistic in our modern world?

Those who believe that it is possible to combat the “mercy killers” with naturalistic arguments are as delusional as those who believe that a person who supports one abortion as a matter of principle is a defender of the sanctity of innocent human life.

Human suffering is one of the many consequences of Original Sin. Indeed, physical suffering and death are two of the very tangible consequences of Original Sin, as well as of our own actual sins. It is only the Catholic Faith that teaches the full truth concerning human suffering. And it is a rejection of the Catholic teaching on human suffering that has permitted sentimentality to triumph so mightily in the world, even among many Catholics who attend Mass every Sunday.

The Church teaches us that no suffering is beyond our capacity to bear by means of the graces won for us by the shedding of our Lord’s Most Precious Blood on Calvary.

Further, the Church teaches us that no human suffering — no matter how intense — is the equal of the pain that just one of our Venial Sins imposed upon our Lord in His Sacred Humanity on the wood of the Holy Cross and that caused His Most Blessed Mother to suffer in perfect compassion with Him as Our Co-Redemptrix.

Our sensus Catholicus informs us that our patient endurance of the sufferings we experience in our lifetimes can be the means by which we help the Poor Souls in Purgatory make satisfaction for the debt we owe as a result of our forgiven sins (and our general attachment to sin), and the means by which we can give exemplary witness to the world of the fact that we unite our sufferings with those of our Blessed Lord as His consecrated slaves through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Indeed, our patient endurance of suffering is one of the ways we prove our love for Our Lord. Knowing that Our Lord never permits us to endure any suffering beyond our capacity to endure equips us with the knowledge that the more suffering we are sent, the more we receive a sign of His love for us, that He expects us to do great things for Him and His Church by becoming co-redeemers of the world with Him.

A rejection of those simple truths results in the tyranny of the social engineers and the bioethicists (who don’t practice true biology and are not very ethical).

Why not kill “unwanted” babies?

Why not kill those who suffer?

Why not clone yourself?

Why not conceive a child in order to kill it and use its body parts to aid someone with Parkinson’s Disease?

Why can’t a woman who is sterile conceive a child by means of in vitro fertilization? Why can’t two people of the same gender who “love” one another get “married”? What’s wrong with surrogate motherhood?

Why can’t we use genetics to pick the sort of child we want?

If there is no redemptive suffering, of course, then one comes to view human suffering as something to be avoided and not to be embraced as the means to sanctify our souls and to make reparation for one’s own sins and those of the whole world. If there is no redemptive suffering, therefore, the first recourse to suffering is to anesthetize it or, in the case of chronic or fatal illnesses, to call in the hospice brigade for a “dignified” end to one’s suffering.

The very people who reject the authority of the Church in those matters look to secular “experts” to provide them with guidance, ironically conferring on those pseudo-experts a spirit of infallibility that is rejected as belonging to a true and legitimate Successor of Saint Peter and the true bishops who are in full communion with him.

We must have such a burning love for the Sacred Heart of Our Blessed and Saviour Jesus Christ through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of His Most Blessed Mother to suffer all physical pains, financial hardships, misunderstandings among family members and/or friends, and all loss of human respect with profound gratitude and joy as we are sinners and, as sinners, we deserve to suffer. It is indeed a sign of Our Lord’s deep and abiding love for us that He send us sufferings and permits us to be reduced to nothing in the eyes to men as He suffered and was reduced to nothing before the world during His Sacred Passion and Death.

Moreover, the suffering we encounter in this life is a sign that God is not done with us, that He is giving us a chance to pay back in this life what we owe for our sins and to demonstrate apostolic courage and amiableness in all the circumstances of our lives to inspire others to recognize that our pilgrimage in this vale of tears is our passageway to eternal life. None of the sufferings of the present can compare to the Easter glory that awaits the souls who die in a state of Sanctifying Grace as members of the Catholic Church

Thus, we pray to Our Lady daily, especially through her Most Holy Rosary, to lift high her Divine Son’s Most Holy Cross in our lives as we offer up whatever merits we might earn here below for the honor and glory of God and make reparation for our own sins and those others so that those who are not yet of the household of the Holy Faith may become so before we die.

Today, Tuesday, April 21, 2026, is the Feast of Saint Anselm, Bishop and Doctor of Holy Church, who defended Holy Mother Church’s liberties against the powerful of this world and who gave no quarter to heresy or error.

Consider the following passage from Dom Prosper Gueranger’s hagiography of Saint Anselm that has particular application to the powerful in the world today and to the One World Ecumenical Church that Robert Francis Prevost/Leo XIV continues to promote in Africa:

As bishop, his whole life was spent in fighting for the liberty of the Church. Though gentle as a lamb by nature, he was all energy for this great cause. He used to say: “Christ would not have his Spouse be a slave; there is nothing in this world that God loves more than the liberty of his Church.” There was a time when the Son of God allowed himself to be fettered with bods in order that he might loosen us from the chains of our sins; but now that he has risen in triumph from the dead, he wills that his Spouse should be, like himself, free. She cannot otherwise exercise the ministry of salvation confided to her by her divine Lord; and yet there is scarcely a single hundred years of her existence in which she has not had to fight for this holy liberty. The rulers of this earth, with very few exceptions, have ever been jealous of her influence, and have sought to lessen it by every possible means. In our own times there are numbers of her children who do not even know that she has any rights or privileges; they would be at a loss to understand you, if you told them that she is the Spouse of Christ, and therefore a queen; they think it quite enough of her, if she enjoy the same amount of freedom and toleration as the sects she condemns; and they cannot see how, under such conditions as these, the Church is not the kingdom he wished her to be, but a mere slave. St. Anselm would have abominated all such theories as these; so does every true Catholic. He is not driven into disloyalty to the Church by the high-sounding words progress and modern society; he knows that there is nothing on earth equal to the Church; and when he sees the world convulsed by revolutions, he knows that all comes from the Church having been deprived of her rights. One of these is that she should not only be recognized, in the secret of our conscience, as the one only true Church, but that, as such, she should be publicly confessed and outwardly defended against every opposition or error. Jesus, her divine Founder, promised to give her all nations as her inheritance; he kept his promise, and she was once the Queen and Mother of them all. But nowadays, a new principle has been asserted, to the effect that the Church and all sects must be on an equal footings far as the protection of the State goes. The principle has been received with acclamation, and hailed as a mighty progress achieved by modern enlightenment: even Catholics, whose previous services to religion had endeared them to our hearts and gained our confidence, have become warm defenders of the impious theory.

Trying as were the times when St. Anselm governed the See of Canterbury, they were spared the humiliation of producing and ratifying such doctrine as this. The tyrannical interference of the Norman kings was an evil far less injurious than the modern system, which is subversive of the very idea of a Church. Open persecution would be a boon, compared to the fashionable error of which we are speaking. A winter torment brings desolation in its track: but in the summer, when the flood is over, nature brings back her verdure and flowers. The errors which now prevail are like a great sea that gradually sweeps over the whole earth: and when the Church can find no spot whereon to rest, she will take her flight to heaven, and men must expect the speedy coming of the judge. May Saint Anselm help us to be defenders of truth in both the Order of Creation (Nature) amd the Order of Grace (Redemption) as we pray to Our Lady to be ready to suffer for the truth out of a sincere love of her Divine Son and a zeal for the sanctification and salvation of others.

We need Our Lady’s help to avoid the clutches of the merchants of death in the medical industry and the clutches of the merchants of eternal death within the counterfeit church of conciliarism, and we need her help to keep us from falling into the clutches of the eternal foe of mankind as we look forwarding to that which we do no deserve, eternal life in an unending Easter Sunday of glory in Heaven.

Appendix A

Dom Prosper Gueranger on Saint Anselm

A monk, a Bishop, a Doctor of the Church—such was the Saint whose feast comes to gladden us on this twenty-first day of April. He was a martyr, also, at least in desire, and we may add, in merit too—for he did enough to earn the glorious palm. When we think of Anselm, we picture to ourselves a man in whom are combined the humility and meekness of the cloister with the zeal and courage of the episcopal dignity; a man who was both a sage and a saint; a man whom it was impossible not to love and respect.

He left his native country of Piedmont for the Monastery of Bec in France, where he became a Benedictine monk. Being elected Superior, he realized in himself the type of an Abbot, as drawn by St. Benedict in his Rule: “He that is made Abbot,” says the holy Patriarch, “should study to give help rather than to give commands.” (The Holy Rule, ch. 64) We read that the love entertained for Anselm by his brethren was beyond description. His whole time was devoted to them, either in giving them spiritual direction, or in communicating to them his own sublime knowledge of the sacred sciences. After governing them for several years, he was taken from them, and compelled to accept the dignity of Archbishop of Canterbury. He was a worthy successor of Augustine, Dunstan, Elphege, and Lanfranc; and by his own noble example of courage, he prepared the way for the glorious martyr Thomas, who succeeded him in less than a century.

Anselm was not only the zealous and heroic defender of the rights and privileges of the Church; he was also a light to men by his learning. The contemplation of revealed truths was his delight. He studied them in their bearings one upon the other, and his writings occupy a distinguished place in the treatises of Catholic Theology. God had blessed him with extraordinary talent. Amidst all the troubles and anxieties and occupations of his various duties, he found time for study. Even when passing from place to place as an exile, he was intent on the meditation of the mysteries of religion, thus preparing those sublime reflections which he has left us on the articles of our Faith.

The Church gives, in her Liturgy, the following sketch of our Saint’s life:

Anselm was born of noble and Catholic parents, named Gundulph and Hermenberga, at Aosta, in Piedmont, about the year of our Lord 1033. From his tenderest years his diligence in study, and his aspirations to a more perfect state of life, gave no indistinct foreshadowing of the holiness and learning to which he afterwards attained. The heat of youth drew him for a while into the snares of the world, but he soon returned to his first courses, and, forsaking his country and his goods, betook himself in 1060. to the monastery of Bee, under the rule of St. Benedict. There he made his profession as a monk, and under the rigid discipline of Herluin, the Abbot, and the learned instruction of the profound Lanfranc, with great zeal of spirit and eager obedience to the Rule, he made such progress in learning and godliness, that he shone before all others as an example of holiness of life, and power of doctrine.

Certification and purity were his marked characteristics, and by constant fasting all taste for food seemed to have died in him. He spent the day in the monastic work, in teaching, and in answering hard questions upon religion, and he took away from sleep during what remained to him of the night, that he might refresh his soul by thoughts of God, wherein he was alway comforted by an unceasing flow of tears. When he was chosen Prior of the monastery, he so won over, by his charity, lowliness, and wisdom, some brethren who looked ill upon him, that from enviers, as he had found them, he turned them into lovers of God and of himself likewise, with exceeding gain to the strictness of observance in that Abbey. After the death of the Abbot, in 1078, Anselm, though against his own will, was chosen to succeed him. In this high place the light of his learning and holiness so shone all round about, that he was reverenced not only by Kings and Bishops, but was taken up by the holy Pope Gregory VII., who, amid the great persecutions which were then trying him, wrote with words of great love to Anselm to recommend himself and the Catholic Church to his prayers.

After the death of Lanfranc, Archbishop of Canterbury, in 1089, Anselm, whose teacher Lanfranc had formerly been, was driven by William II., King of England, supported by the entreaties of the clergy and people, though sorely against his own wishes to take upon him the government of that Church. Raised to that See upon the 4th day of December, in the year 1093, he straightway set himself to reform the corrupt manners of the people, and, first by his word and example, and then by his writings and the Councils which he held, succeeded in restoring the ancient godliness and discipline of the Church. But when the aforesaid King William tried by force and threats to seize on the rights of the Church, Anselm withstood him as beseemed a Priest, and after that he had suffered the plundering of all his goods and been sent into banishment, he betook himself to Rome to Urban II. There he was received with great worship, and won high praise for that in the Council of Bari, in 1098, he maintained by countless proofs from Scripture and the holy Fathers, against the error of the Greeks, that the Holy Ghost proceedeth from the Son also. When William lived no more, his brother Henry I., King of England, in the year 1100, called back Anselm thither, and there he fell asleep in the Lord, upon the 21st day of April,1109. His is a name illustrious not for miracles only, nor for holiness, and indeed he had a wondrous love for his Lord Who had suffered for him, and for the blessed Maiden Mother of the Same our Lord, but also for the deep learning which he used for the defence of the Christian Religion and the good of souls. That wonderful knowledge of theology which he had, and which is shown in all the books which he wrote, seemeth to have been given him from heaven for the teaching of all writers on the same subject, who have used what is called the Scholastic method. O holy Pontiff Anselm! beloved of God and men! the Church, whose cause thou didst so zealously defend on earth, celebrates, this day, thy praise, and honors thee as one of her dearest Saints. Thy meekness, condescension and charity gave thee a resemblance to Jesus, the Good Shepherd. Like him, thou couldst truly say: I know my sheep, and my sheep know me. (John 10:14) Thou didst watch over them day and night, lest the wolf should come and find them unprotected. Far from fleeing at his approach, thou didst go forth to meet him, and nothing could induce thee to yield to his sacrilegious tyranny. Heroic champion of the Church’s liberty! protect it in these our days, when there is not a country left where it is not insulted or ignored. Raise up in every place pastors with a spirit of holy independence such as thou hadst; that thus the faithful may take courage and that every Christian may boldly and proudly confess that he himself is a member of the Church, and that the interests of our spiritual mother are far more deserving of our solicitude than those of the whole world besides.

God had gifted thee, O Anselm, with that Christian philosophy which bows down to the teachings of faith, and which, being thus purified by humility, is elevated to the intelligence of the sublimest truths. The Church, in acknowledgement of the benefits she derived from thy learning, has conferred upon thee the title of Doctor, which for a long time was confined to those great men who lived in the early Christian Ages, and whose writings are the reflex of the preaching of the Apostles. Thy teaching has been deemed worthy of being numbered with that of the ancient Fathers, for it came from the same divine Spirit, and was the result of prayer rather than of study. Obtain for us, O holy Doctor, that “our faith,” like thine, “may seek understanding.” Nowadays, there are many who blaspheme what they know not; (Jude 1:10) but there are many also who know little or nothing of what they believe. Hence arise a deplorable confusion of ideas, compromises are made between truth and error, and the only true doctrines are despised, scouted, or at lest undefended. Pray to our heavenly Father, O Anselm, that he would bless the world with holy and learned men, who may teach the path of truth, and dispel the mists of error; that thus the children of the Church may not be led astray.

Look down with affection, O holy Pontiff, on the venerable Order, which, when God called thee from the vanities of the world, received thee, made thee one of her children, gave thy soul its life, and thy mind the light of wisdom. She claims thy protection. Thou art a son of the great Patriarch Benedict: forget not thy brethren. Bless them in France, where thou didst first embrace the Monastic Life; bless them in England, where thou wast Primate, and yet still the humble monk. Pray for the two countries, for both are dear to thee. Faith is weak in one; and heresy reigns supreme in the other. Beseech our Lord to show his mercy to both: he is all-powerful, and he turns not a deaf ear to the prayers of his Saints. If, in his justice, he have decreed not to restore to these two countries their ancient Catholic constitution, pray that, at least, the number of souls saved may be great, that conversions may be frequent, and that the laborers sent at the eleventh hour to the vineyard may emulate the zeal of them that were first called!
