Always Ready to Defend Violent Felons, Never Able to Speak the Names of Their Victims
As readers of this site are well aware, former United States Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas was the chief enforcement officer for Joseph Robinette Biden’s open borders policy that let millions upon millions of unvetted foreign nations into the United States of America illegally and then to receive billions of Federal, state, and local taxpayer dollars as a “reward” for breaking thoroughly just laws government migration of persons into the country.
Up to around 300,000 of these millions upon millions of illegal immigrants are also violent criminals with a history of arrests for violent crimes in their own countries and have been released repeatedly onto the streets of American communities after having been arrested for shoplifting, armed robbery, burglaries, carjackings, violent assaults upon civilian and police officers, and the wanton murder of American citizens with the full knowledge that nothing will ever happen to them in the so-called “sanctuary cities,” which will protect them from being reported to and arrested by the United States Immigration and Custom Enforcement agency of the United States Department of Homeland Security.
Alejandro Mayorkas violated his office of oath of office throughout his four years in office by failing to enforce existing laws government the migration of persons into the United States of America that have been passed by the Congress of the United States of America according to the following provision of Subsection 4, of Section 8 of Article I of the Constitution of the United States of America:
To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States; (Section 8, Subsection 4, Article I)
The defense of national borders is a duty of public officials to protect an orderly process of migration that includes proper vetting and background checks and a determination whether prospective migrants could support themselves once admitted into the country as well as health examinations to determine whether prospective migrants are carriers of infectious diseases that pose a threat to the public health of native born or naturalized citizens of the United States of America. Elected officials of any country have a solemn duty to provide for the safety and health of their own citizens. There exists no “right” found in either the Divine or Natural Laws for anyone of one nation to knowingly violate the just laws of another nation to gain access of array of “free” social services while running amok to break other laws after having broken just laws to enter a country of which they are not citizens.
I repeat: there is no inherent “right” for anyone to engage, promote, suborn, and indemnify illegal immigration, no less to treat illegal immigrants as “law-abiding” “citizens” who must never be punished for the crimes of entering a country illegally or suffering any legal consequences whatsoever for the crimes against persons and property after having entering illegally. What gives anyone, including an illegal immigrant, to commit violent crimes of the sort that are listed below?
Communities nationwide have been left on edge by illegal immigrants who have taken advantage of a lax southern border under the Biden-Harris administration and victimized innocent Americans.
Through the efforts of police and prosecutors, an example was set with the arrests or convictions of these migrants for their violent crimes in 2024.
1. Guatemalan immigrant accused of setting woman on fire in NYC subway
Sebastian Zapeta, a previously deported immigrant from Guatemala, was indicted on one count of first-degree murder, three counts of second-degree murder and one count of arson after a woman was lit on fire and burned to death on a subway train Dec. 22 in Brooklyn, New York.
Surveillance video showed the suspect, believed to be Zapeta, approaching the woman, who was sitting motionless and may have been sleeping aboard a stationary F train at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue subway station.
Then, she was set on fire.
"As the train pulled into the station, the suspect calmly walked up to the victim," New York Police Depar2tment Commissioner Jessica Tisch said during a press conference, adding the female victim was in a seated position. "The suspect used what we believe to be a lighter to ignite the victim’s clothing, which became fully engulfed in a matter of seconds."
Zapeta was apprehended by Border Patrol and deported by the Trump administration June 7, 2018, after he crossed illegally into Sonoita, Arizona, a week before that, Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesperson Jeff Carter told Fox News. Zapeta later reentered the U.S. illegally at an unknown date and location, Carter said.
2. Venezuelan migrant Jose Ibarra sentenced in Laken Riley's murder
In November, a Georgia judge convicted and sentenced Jose Ibarra, the suspect accused of murdering Augusta University student Laken Riley on the University of Georgia campus in February.
Athens-Clarke County Superior Court Judge Patrick Haggard found Ibarra guilty of 10 counts, including one count of malice murder, three counts of felony murder, one count of kidnapping, one count of aggravated assault with intent to rape, one count of aggravated battery, one count of hindering a 911 call, one count of tampering with evidence and one count of being a "peeping Tom."
Ibarra pleaded not guilty to all counts.
Prosecutors said Ibarra, a 26-year-old illegal immigrant from Venezuela, attacked and killed Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student, while she was jogging along trails near Lake Herrick on the University of Georgia campus in Athens the morning of Feb. 22.
3. Mexican citizen arrested for girlfriend's murder after removal from US
Brandon Ortiz-Vite, who was deported to his home country of Mexico in 2020, was arrested on murder charges in March for the killing of a Michigan woman after he allegedly reentered the United States illegally.
Ortiz-Vite, who is being held at the Kent County, Michigan, jail, faces charges of felony murder, open murder, carjacking, carrying a concealed weapon and felony use of a firearm after the body of 25-year-old Ruby Garcia was discovered on U.S. 131 in downtown Grand Rapids.
The pair had been in a romantic relationship at the time of the killing, police said.
Ortiz-Vite, 25, "was arrested by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Detroit on Aug. 31, 2020, and served a notice to appear. He was ordered removed by an immigration judge with the Justice Department’s Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR) Sept. 24, 2020, and was removed to Mexico Sept. 29, 2020," a spokesperson for ICE told Fox News Digital.
"At an unknown date and location, Ortiz-Vite reentered the United States without inspection by an immigration official.
"On Mar. 24, 2024, ERO Detroit encountered Ortiz-Vite pursuant to him being arrested by the Michigan State Police and charged him with murder and other crimes," the spokesperson added. "ERO Detroit lodged a detainer with the Kent County Jail for Ortiz-Vite."
4. Honduran national accused of attempted hiking trail rape, sexual assaults
During a press conference in November, Virginia's Herndon Police Department announced that Denis Humberto Naverette Romero, 31, was charged with abduction with intent to defile and rape a stranger he grabbed off a trail.
On Nov. 24, officers responded to the W&OD Trail for a call about a woman who approached a passerby and asked for help after she said she had been raped.
The victim told police Romero grabbed her, forced her to the ground and raped her.
The woman was able to fight off the attacker and run away to get help. Police located Romero shortly afterward.
Romero, a Honduran national, has a documented history of sexual assaults and indecent exposures in the region dating back to 2022, according to Herndon Police Chief Maggie DeBoard.
A source close to the matter told Fox News Digital Romero is homeless and has been in and out of jail but never served any significant time. He has also had multiple charges dropped to less serious offenses by prosecutors, the source explained.
5. Migrant wanted for murder in Dominican Republic accused of killing New York family
Julio Cesar Pimentel-Soriano, originally from the Dominican Republic, was arrested in September for allegedly murdering a New York family of four in their home.
On Aug. 31, Fraime Ubaldo, 30; Marangely Moreno-Santiago, 26; Evangeline Ubaldo-Moreno, 4; and Sebastian Ubaldo-Moreno, 2, were murdered in their home, the Irondequoit Police Department wrote in a post on X.
"This was a horrific scene," Irondequoit Police Chief Scott Peters said at a press conference. "In almost 32 years of doing this job, I haven't seen anything like it."
Police arrested Pimentel-Soriano Sept. 7.
"It appears Mr. Soriano entered the island of Puerto Rico illegally and obtained fraudulent New York identification," Irondequoit Police said. "With that identification, he was free to travel from Puerto Rico to the United States mainland."
Pimentel-Soriano was wanted for a 2019 murder in his own country at the time of his arrest, according to the department. (Illegal immigrants accused of preying on innocent Americans in 2024.)
This list of victims means nothing to the soulless Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. and even less so to Alejandro Mayorkas, who could not even acknowledge the late Rachel Morin’s Laken Riley’s humanity after their respective murders by illegal immigrants that had been illegally “paroled” into the United States of America:
Rachel Morin’ mother blasted Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ for referring to her daughter, who was murdered by an illegal migrant, as an “individual” instead of naming her in a Tuesday interview.
“It’s a completely political statement because they’re not even willing to acknowledge that she was a mother, a daughter,” Patty Morin told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham on Wednesday night.
“It totally depersonalizes her and makes her an object,” said Patty, who also revealed no one from the Biden administration has reached out to her grieving family since her daughter’s alleged killer was arrested.
Alleged Salvadoran gang member Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez, 23, was busted Friday for allegedly killing the 37-year-old mom of five on a hiking trail in August in Harford County, Md.
Rachel’s death and Martinez-Hernandez’s arrest has sparked a new wave of outrage about migrants pouring over the southern border.
On Tuesday, Mayorkas appeared on CNN and was asked about Rachel’s murder and his response to critics blaming the administration’s policies for violent crimes committed by migrants.
He referred to Morin as “the individual” in his reply.
“First and foremost of course our hearts break for the children, the loved ones and the friends of the individual who was murdered — the woman, the mother,” Mayorkas told Jim Acosta.
“A criminal is responsible for the criminal act,” he added. “The criminal who committed this heinous act should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law and forcefully so.”
His response drew the ire of Morin’s family.
“They just seem to be disconnected completely from what is happening at the southern border and how it is affecting Americans,” Morin family attorney Randolph Rice said during Wednesday night’s interview on “The Ingraham Angle.”
“They are hemorrhaging at the southern border and they’re arguing about what kind of bandaid to put on it when instead they should be putting a tourniquet on it and stopping this flow so that we don’t have another Rachel Morin,” Rice added.
Rachel was snatched off the Ma and Pa hiking Trail in Bel Air, Md., and dragged into the woods, according to investigators.
Her body was found in a culvert Aug. 6.
Martinez-Hernandez had already been wanted in a previous killing in El Salvador and for assaulting a mom and young girl in a brutal home invasion in Los Angeles.
He’d been living in the country illegally since crossing through Mexico in 2023, officials said.
Authorities found the career criminal “casually sitting at the bar” Friday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma, cops said.
He has been charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape in her death.
Rachel’s sister told The Post this week she believes her sister’s alleged killer may have additional victims. (Rachel Morin's mother blasts DHS Secretary for calling slain daughter 'individual'.)
Tone-deaf Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Wednesday shrugged off attempts to blame Biden’s border policy for the horrific slaughter of Americans at the hands of illegal migrants, saying, “The individual who is responsible for a heinous criminal act is the criminal.”
His comment during a press conference from a Border Patrol aircraft hangar in Tucson, Arizona — some 70 miles from the nearest border crossing — came in response to a question about 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, who was brutalized and murdered in Houston, allegedly by two Venezuelan migrants who were released into the US earlier this year.
“We screen and vet individuals when we encounter them,” he said.
Border agents quickly responded with skepticism to Mayorkas’ claims that the DHS was sufficiently vetting anybody crossing the US border, saying his comments Wednesday show he’s living in “fairytale land.”
“I don’t know what Mayorkas is smoking because it needs to be legalized,” one Border Patrol source told The Post.
“If by vetting he means fingerprinting and doing some half-a**ed background check that has access to almost nothing outside of the United States, then yeah it’s a great process.”
He defended the border vetting procedures — even while acknowledging at least eight ISIS-linked suspected terrorists managed to slip through US custody and enter the country.
The Post first reported on the ISIS suspects being arrested after traveling as far as Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and New York.
“We did not have derogatory information when they were first encountered,” Mayorkas said.
“Concerns were raised subsequently, we used our law enforcement authorities to apprehend and detain them and they are in removal proceedings as we speak,” he added — in the first press conference about the border since Senate Democrats blocked an impeachment trial against him, effectively acquitting him of the charges.
Mayorkas’ statement comes the same day that NBC News also reported DHS has identified more than 400 migrants who were brought to the US from Central Asia by an ISIS-affiliated human smuggling network — and that the whereabouts of more than 50 of them are unknown.
Sources said that not only are the background checks limited by many countries’ refusal to provide information on their citizens, the source explained, but agents are rarely given enough time to effectively screen people before they have to let them go – usually within three days.
“We run checks but unless they have an actual database hit or have interactions with law enforcement in the US we really don’t know,” one source said.
An ICE source echoed those concerns, adding that background checks often come back with errors or are totally incomplete.
The source said migrants often have to be released before border agents have time to fully see the checks through.
“Not all checks come back completed, or verified due to potential errors, in time before a subject could be released letting a potential criminal into the country prior to being completely vetted,” the source said.

Two of the migrants had been in the country for months under surveillance by a Joint Terrorism Task Force.
The migrants hailed from Tajikistan, a central Asian country bordering Afghanistan that’s become a hotbed of extremist activity through ISIS.
In addition to the terror suspects, a string of high-profile crimes against women and girls have been linked to illegal migrants who were released into the US.
The suspects charged with killing Nungaray — who was lured under a bridge in Houston and assaulted for two hours and then had her hands and legs bound before being strangled to death and dumped in a Bayou — were stopped by border patrol officers and released just weeks before the crime.
Johan Jose Martinez-Rangel, 21, entered the US in March and was taken off a GPS monitoring program weeks before Nungaray’s murder after he was not deemed to be a threat, sources said.
Franklin Jose Peña Ramos, 26, entered the country last month and was still being monitored at the time of the crime.
Both men are being held on $10 million bail.
Such assurances meant little to the family of Rachel Morin, the Maryland mom-of-five raped and brutally murdered in August allegedly by 23-year-old Victor Martinez Hernandez, who illegally entered the US in February 2023 just a month after allegedly murdering a woman back home in El Salvador.
“It appears the tragic rape and murder of Rachel Morin wasn’t enough to spur action,” said Morin family attorney Randolph Rice. “Perhaps the danger of terrorists entering our country will finally make our government leaders realize the urgency of this situation and take action to protect American citizens.”
“What further tragedy needs to happen before our leaders in Washington wake up and say, ‘We have a disastrous problem; let’s shut the southern border down until we figure out a better way to do this?’” he added.
Morin is just one of several American women and girls who have been violently preyed on by predators who recently entered the country illegally.
Barely a week before Mayorkas’ conference, 12-year-old Jocelyn was bound, stripped half naked from the waist down, and strangled to death in Houston on the night of June 16.
The men accused of the brutal crime, 26-year-old Franklin Jose Pena Ramos and 21-year-old Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, both crossed the border in El Paso this spring and were fitted with ankle monitors by immigration officials.
Pena Ramos was still being monitored at the time of Jocelyn’s murder and cut his ankle bracelet two days later, while Rangel Martinez’s was officially removed weeks earlier after he was deemed to not be a threat.
Jocelyn’s family echoed the Morins’ disgust about current border security during an appearance on with Fox News’ Sean Hannity Tuesday night.
“We have to stop burying our kids, this is not right,” grandfather Kelvin Alvarenga said.
“We have to have more reinforcement when it comes to letting people in, this is not okay, it’s not okay,” he added. “It happens all over the country. We need a safer country.”
Days earlier across the country in NYC, a 13-year-old girl was raped in broad daylight in a Queens park allegedly by 25-year-old Ecuadorian migrant Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, who has been in the country since he crossed at Eagle Pass in 2021.
In February, 22-year-old Georgia nursing student Laken Riley was brutally murdered while going for a run on campus. Venezuelan migrant Jose Antonio Ibarra, 26, was charged with murder and kidnapping in her killing.
After insisting Biden’s border policies were sound, Mayorkas went on to blame congressional gridlock for the nation’s troubles while highlighting a major funding package which failed to pass in May.
“Executive actions are no substitute for congressional action. Only congress and deliver a full and lasting solution,” he said. “Only congress through legislation can fix what everyone agrees is a broke immigration system that was last updated almost 30 years ago. Only congress can give us the resources we need. We have been under resourced for decades.” (Mayorkas: Biden's border policy working despite letting in ISIS terrorists, killers.)
Republicans slammed the White House for its “pathetic” and “shameful” statements on the killings of Rachel Morin and Jocelyn Nungaray — which never mentioned they were murdered by illegal immigrants
Morin, 37, was raped and murdered on a Maryland hiking trail in August 2023.
Earlier this month, Victor Antonio Martinez Hernandez, 23, a native of El Salvador who entered the US illegally, was arrested and charged with the crime.
The body of Jocelyn Nungaray, 12, was found near a creek in Houston on Monday.
Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 21, and Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, both from Venezuela, were charged with the killing.
The White House issued statements on both incidents this week – failing to mention that all three suspects were in the US illegally.
Kim George, a Republican congressional candidate in Arkansas, slammed both statements as “pathetic.”
“Weak leadership is to blame for these senseless deaths. Nothing can be said to change what happened, but the families deserve better. They deserve #justice,” she wrote.
“Yet another American family is destroyed by Joe Biden’s open border.” wrote Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL).
“We MUST secure our border NOW.”
Donald Trump’s presidential campaign also chimed in on the controversy.
“Crooked Joe Biden is a disgrace,” the campaign’s “war room” account wrote on X.
“The brutal murders of these Americans is on the hands of Biden — and the evil Biden migrants he released into our country.”
A White House spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Tuesday “We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Rachel Morin.”
“We cannot comment on active law enforcement cases. But fundamentally, we believe that people should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law if they are found to be guilty.”
On Friday, a White House spokesperson issued a nearly identical statement to NBC News about Nungaray.
“Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of Jocelyn Nungaray,” the comment read.
We cannot comment on active law enforcement cases,” the spokesperson continued.
“But fundamentally, anyone found guilty of this type of heinous and shocking crime should be held accountable, to the fullest extent of the law.”
Rachel Morin’s mother said this week that former President Trump phoned her to express his condolences.
“I am deeply touched by President Trump’s kindness and concern,” Patty Morin said.
“He was genuine and truly wanted to know how our family was coping,” she added.
“He asked about Rachel and showed honest compassion for her untimely death.
The grieving mom also criticized the Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Majorkas for referring to her daughter as an “individual” during an interview.
“It totally depersonalizes her and makes her an object,” Patty said, adding that no one from the Biden administration reached out to her family since her daughter’s alleged killer was arrested. (Family of Jocelyn Nungaray pleads for heightened border security: 'We have to stop burying our kids'.
Mrs. Morin is entirely correct, of course, as it is essential for the pro-abortion Mayorkas to dehumanize the victims of his refusing to enforce the Federal government's immigration laws as nameless people who were simply the victims of one criminal rather than the victims of his own policies that turned lawbreaking border crossers loose upon the American public in places far, far away from the border with the United Mexican States to commit the same sort of crimes here that they had been committing in their own countries with impunity. It is very easy to dehumanize anyone and everyone after birth once his humanity within the sanctuary of his mother's womb has been denied.
Although Alejandro Mayorkas obfuscated the matter last year, United States Senator Lindsay Graham (R-South Carolina) laid out the facts that Mayorkas refused to disclose voluntarily:
WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has confirmed to U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina), Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, that the individual charged with the murder of Georgia student Laken Riley was paroled into the country illegally.
According to DHS, Jose Antonio Ibarra was granted “parole due to detention capacity at the Central Processing Center in El Paso, Texas.”
Graham announced this at a Judiciary Committee hearing this morning.
- GRAHAM: “[Ibarra] wasn’t paroled because he had a [significant] benefit to the country or that he had a humanitarian need, as the law requires. He was paroled because of capacity problems.” https://youtu.be/2Wn66B2xjGs?si=v0QcrxOj_Ab1dYEy&t=198
- GRAHAM: “There is no effective detention when it comes to illegal immigrants coming to our border... The ‘catch and release’ program is one of the greatest pull factors… The price of this policy by the Biden Administration is pretty darn high.” https://youtu.be/5FhkSLBMAzw?si=S8YkTkskL_M5bXsC&t=45
Yet it is that there is what has been described as an entire ecosystem within the United States of America to prevent even the most violently recidivist illegal immigrants from being deported under the thoroughly just and long overdue policies being enforced the administration of President Donald John Trump and Vice President James David Vance to prevent more innocent Americans such as Laken Riley, Rachel Morin, and among so many others, Jocelyn Nungaray from being bodily assaulted and brutally murdered:
CHICAGO — It was still dark and cold at 5:30 am Thursday when teams of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers hit the streets on “targeted enforcement” missions to arrest criminal illegal migrants.
They call them “the worst of the worst.”
The Post embedded with one team of federal ICE agents who admitted the task of identifying criminal migrants in the sanctuary city – which orders its local law enforcement not to help them – and actually making arrests can be like finding needles in haystacks.
Further complicating matters, local activists, legislators and school administrators in Illinois have been coaching migrants, including criminals charged with sex assaults, weapons violations and worse, on their rights and how to evade ICE agents. Even those detained were fairly brazen.
On Thursday, between 10 teams of about 10 agents each, ICE made only two arrests in Chicago after five hours on the ground.
The Post witnessed Diego Antonio Montero, 24, a Venezuelan national who crossed illegally into the US in May 2023 as he was arrested and put into a caged van by ICE agents.
He was calm and composed and told ICE in Spanish he was not a criminal and was confident he’d go before a judge and be set free. “Sometimes it’s a very uphill battle,” officer Sam Olson, a nearly 25-year veteran of ICE, told The Post as he drove to the first target.
“We have their information because they were previously arrested and booked in and fingerprinted somewhere, therefore we know they are here. But it’s not as if we are getting notification if these criminal aliens are arrested. Nobody local will tell us that.”
Montero was also on the run from Homeland Security. After he skipped out on a 2024 immigration hearing, a judge ordered him removed from the US.
Last August, ICE officers encountered Montero and arrested him. He was detained until November 7, 2024, then released into the Alternative to Detention Program with a GPS tracking device. ICE picked him up Thursday after locating him via his ankle bracelet.
His record shows otherwise. Chicago police had previously arrested him for criminal trespass, battery, and aggravated assault with the use of a deadly weapon. All charges are pending before the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois. An arrest warrant was issued on April 22, 2024, but not honored.
ICE agents, who have been joined by agents from the DOJ, FBI and ATF as a result of Trump and new Border Czar Tom Homan’s demand for more arrests, call what they do in their early morning trips “knock and talks.”
They arrive at a target’s home or apartment at 6 a.m. or after as they are not allowed to knock before that time.
But at two stops in the Humboldt neighborhood, the targeted residents in the homes where ICE knocked, knew not to open the door.
Instead, at one house three people gazed down from an upper floor window – seemingly unfazed by the presence of armed agents in bulletproof vests and loud walkie-talkies knocking repeatedly at the front and side doors.
After about 10 minutes of stalemate, ICE gave up and returned to their vehicles to go to their next scheduled stop.
ICE officers rarely obtain warrants from federal judges for their “knock and talks” and can only arrest their targets if they open the door.
Olson made clear his team is not picking up the wives or girlfriends of the criminals they are targeting. The Post saw ICE agents talking gently to one girlfriend of a man they attempted to detain to explain why they were there.
Organizations in Illinois like Catholic Charities, La Voz Latina and school administrators are holding workshops and making flyers and videos explaining to illegal migrants what their rights are, and how to evade ICE.
“I do not wish to speak with you, answer your questions or sign or hand you any documents based on my 5th Amendment rights under the United States Constitution,” reads text on cards being distributed in Chicago and elsewhere in the state.
According to the city’s “Welcoming Letter,” “We have a responsibility to provide access to shelter, food, and medical care to everyone, regardless of immigration status.
“I sympathize with the ICE agents stuck working in Illinois because their backs are really up against the wall,” Terry Newsome, a local longtime activist and host of the “Behind Enemy Lines” podcast, told The Post.
“They have to aggressively find these individuals who are being coached to fight back and what to do to keep from being arrested. Even [Venezuelan criminal gang] Tren de Aragua are being coached by the radical Illinois Democrats on how to avoid ICE.
“The citizens of Illinois have to fight against the sanctuary city and state and demand they put the citizens of Illinois before the criminal illegal aliens that have flooded our communities.”
President Trump has promised mass deportations of “millions” in the country illegally.
But celebrities such as Selena Gomez and Democratic pundits have unfairly characterized ICE as the bad guys, out to raid and arrest terrified families — the reality on the ground in Chicago was very different.
“Our mission is targeting the worst of the worst,” said the soft-spoken Olson, who said one of the toughest parts of his job is seeing ICE officers portrayed as heartless Nazis.
“We’re people from the community ourselves,” Olson said. “We want the community to be safer for everyone, including our families — and we are only upholding the Constitution and enforcing the laws Congress has mandated while putting our lives on the line daily.”
Olson said the money and manpower needed to track down each criminal migrant is huge — even though they are in the country illegally.
“We have very smart officers doing constant and incredible research before we can even get to the point of going out to find people,” he said. “The amount of hours that go into just one case are unbelievable.”
Though ICE was able to arrest Montero at their last stop, they had to let two other migrants go after first cuffing them.
Olson said while they had criminal backgrounds, they had also applied for asylum and were out on bond and therefore immune from arrest.
But Olson was cheerful enough as his van pulled back into the parking lot near the ICE offices in a gritty, industrial area of downtown Chicago five hours after the teams set out. He is careful to avoid any discussion of politics and declined to speak about the change in administration from Biden to Trump.
“We’re doing what we are mandated to do and we are confident we’re going to make more and more progress,” Olson said. “I hope people realize someday that this is all about upholding the law and making the country safer — but our job will continue no matter what misconceptions people have about us.” (Chicago raids expose how leftist groups help crooks evade ICE.)
These leftist groups are actively aiding and abetting human traffickers, murderers, thieves, members of violent street gangs who specialize in drug trafficking and use methods of violent intimidation to rule those streets, home invaders, house occupiers, muggers, and those who prey young girls for sins so horribly grievous that they will not be otherwise described here.
As mentioned in the report cited above, among the groups pro-actively protecting these violent illegal immigrants is Catholic Charities, which has a decades-long record of encouraging foreign nationals to break the just immigration laws of the United States of America and which, prior to the advent of Jorge Mario Bergoglio on March 13, 2013, played a not-so-covert game of indirectly funding anti-life organizations that has been documented many times, especially by the work of researcher Stephanie Block, and has been rather bold out such efforts in the past eleven years, ten months, nineteen days. (Appendix B below contains information about how Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and Orange, California, worked to get illegal immigrants to the polls to defeat the pro-life United States Representative Robert K. “B-1 Bob” Dornan in his re-election bid against the pro-abortion Loretta Brixey Sanchez.)
What is even more scandalous, especially to a recent convert to what he thinks is Catholicism in its conciliar guise, Vice President James David Vance (see J.D. Vance, vice president, scolds U.S. Catholic bishops after criticism of Trump on immigration), is that the likes of “Bishop” Mark Seitz boasts of protecting those who broke the just immigration laws of the United States of America, including the violent among these law-breakers as well as the known terrorists who were permitted to enter this country with ease during the penitential, lawless, corrupt years of the Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., and Kamala Harris Emhoff administration:
“Catholic health care, Catholic Charities agencies, and the Church’s other social service ministries work daily to feed, house, heal, educate, and meet people’s needs in communities across our nation. Through these ministries—together with the Church’s responsibility to proclaim the Gospel and celebrate the sacraments—we uphold the belief that all people are conceived with inherent dignity, reflecting the image of God. Through our parishes, shelters, hospitals, schools, and other Church institutions, we recognize that this dignity is not dependent on a person's citizenship or immigration status. Moreover, the charitable services we provide are fundamental to who we are as Christians. ‘For the Church, charity is not a kind of welfare activity which could equally well be left to others, but is a part of her nature, an indispensable expression of her very being’ (Deus caritas est, no. 25).
“We recognize the need for just immigration enforcement and affirm the government’s obligation to carry it out in a targeted, proportional, and humane way. However, non-emergency immigration enforcement in schools, places of worship, social service agencies, healthcare facilities, or other sensitive settings where people receive essential services would be contrary to the common good. With the mere rescission of the protected areas guidance, we are already witnessing reticence among immigrants to engage in daily life, including sending children to school and attending religious services. All people have a right to fulfill their duty to God without fear. Turning places of care, healing, and solace into places of fear and uncertainty for those in need, while endangering the trust between pastors, providers, educators and the people they serve, will not make our communities safer.
“Our organizations stand ready to work on a better path forward that protects the dignity of all those we serve, upholds the sacred duty of our providers, and ensures our borders and immigration system are governed with mercy and justice.”
This statement was offered by Bishop Mark J. Seitz, chairman, U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Migration, Sr. Mary Haddad, RSM, president and CEO, Catholic Health Association of the United States, and Kerry Alys Robinson, president and CEO, Catholic Charities USA. (“Human Dignity is Not Dependent on a Person's Citizenship or Immigration Status”.)
We know only too well what “mercy” and “justice” in border enforcement mean to the conciliar revolutionaries: Open borders and no consequences for breaking any laws, up to and including violent crimes, as these revolutionaries believe that no law is just or merciful unless it enables those they desire to protect to do want they want while being funded by the taxpayers and by the unsuspecting or simply careerist cowards among the “conservative” presbyteral dupes within the conciliar structures who urge their parishioners to donate to Catholic Charities despite know full well how this organization undermines Catholic teaching on Faith and Morals and enable violent illegal immigrants in their lives of wanton crimes.
Mark Seitz’s concept of “mercy and justice” is, of course, identical to that advanced by Jorge Mario Bergoglio to indemnify adulterers, fornicators, sodomites, mutants, and clerical abusers in their lives of indecency, perversion, impurity, and scurrility while condemning those who perform the Spiritual Works of Mercy to instruct the ignorant to admonish the sinner as “harsh” “Pharisees.”
Even though United States Border Czar Thomas D. Homan does not understand that the counterfeit church headed by Jorge Mario Bergoglio is not the Catholic Church and that, thus, there would never be a need to correct a true pope on Faith and Morals, he did call the Argentine Apostate’s false teaching on sins and for the latter’s hypocrisy in living behind walls while condemning nations who build them:
(LifeSiteNews) — President Donald Trump’s border chief Tom Homan called out Pope Francis for the hypocrisy of his criticism of Trump’s plan to deport illegal immigrants.
In a January 19 appearance on the “Che Tempo Che Fa” program, Francis said that U.S. deportations of illegal migrants would be a “disgrace.” On Friday, Homan pointed out that U.S. policy is consistent with the Vatican’s enforcement of its own borders.
“They have a wall around the Vatican. If you illegally enter the Vatican, the crime is serious,” said Homan during a Newsmax appearance, adding that anyone who enters there illegally will spend time in jail.
In fact, just this past December, the Vatican ramped up penalties for those who illegally enter its restricted areas, which now include fines of about 10,000 to 25,000 euros or $10,200 to $25,700 and jail time ranging from one to four years. Those convicted of illegal entry into the Vatican are banned from the city-state for up to 15 years.
A large portion of Vatican City, including the palaces, gardens, and offices, are surrounded by walls about 40 feet high, and its gates are manned by Swiss Guards who protect the city from intruders.
Homan remarked regarding Francis, “He can protect the Vatican where he lives. He can build a wall where he lives. The American people are not allowed that?”
“Securing the border saves lives,” stressed Homan. “When less people come, less women get raped by the cartel. Less children die in the river. Less Americans die from fentanyl overdoses.”
A report released in October found that child sex trafficking alone tripled under the Biden-Harris administration’s open borders policies.
“I’m a lifelong Catholic. I was born Catholic. I’ve been through Catholic doctrine. Look, he ought to concentrate on fixing the Catholic Church … he’s got big problems there,” Homan said.
“He ought to stick to the Catholic Church and fix that. That’s a mess,” he concluded. Indeed, under Francis’ leadership, the primary papal duty of clarifying and defending Church doctrine has been neglected in favor of a multitude of ambiguous and misleading documents and statements that have given the impression of condoning sin, such as Amoris Laetitia and Fiducia Supplicans, which suggest, respectively, that adulterous “couples” may receive Holy Communion without Confession and that homosexual “couples” may be “blessed.” (Trump border chief blasts Pope Francis’ hypocrisy on illegal immigration .)
Mr. Homan is very correct to point out Jorge Mario Bergoglio’s hypocrisy about walls and security, but he may not understand fully and/or be willing to admit publicly that a true pope can never take a wrecking ball to Catholic Faith, Worship, and Morals. In this regard, therefore, I would urge the very busy Thomas D. Honan to consider the following commentaries: Memorandum from Saint Ambrose to All Catholics: “The Catholic faith derives so much strength and support from the words of the Apostolic See, that it is criminal to entertain any doubts concerning it,” Jorge Demands That His Clergy Suborn Sins That Cry Out to Heaven for Vengeance, Jorge Demands that His Clergy Suborn Sins That Cry Out to Heaven for Vengeance, part two, Two Argentine Fiends Patronize African “Bishops” In Defense of Sodomy, and Bergoglio and Fernandez: Men Who Extol and Enable the Impure.
Revolutionaries such as Jorge Mario Bergoglio and factotums such as Mark Seitz, Robert McElroy, John Stowe, Blase Cupich, and others within the conciliar sect would rather die than let the following names pass from their lips:
Laken Riley.
Rachel Morin.
Jocelyn Nungaray.
Katie Steinle:
An illegal immigrant who has been deported five times was sentenced on Monday to time already served over a federal weapons charge related to his acquittal of murder in the 2015 shooting death of San Francisco woman Kate Steinle.
Jose Inez Garcia-Zarate is facing deportation to his native Mexico after a federal judge in California sentenced him to the seven years he has already spent in jail — bringing an end to the case that sparked a firestorm over immigration and sanctuary cities.
“If you return to this country again and you are back in front of me, I will not spare you. Let this be your last warning: Do not return to this country,” US District Judge Vince Chhabria said during his sentencing hearing.
Steinle, 32, was shot dead while she was walking along San Francisco’s crowded Pier 14 with her dad and a friend on July 4, 2015.
Garcia-Zarate, who was in the US illegally and had already been deported five times, admitted to accidentally firing the gun.
He said he’d found it under a bench, but didn’t know it was a firearm because it was wrapped up in a T-shirt. The gun fired when Garcia-Zarate picked it up and officials said the bullet ricocheted off the ground before striking the victim.
The gun had been stolen from a US Bureau of Land Management ranger’s car a week earlier.
A jury eventually acquitted Garcia-Zarate of homicide charges in 2017, but he still faced a federal firearms charge.
He pleaded guilty in March to being a felon in possession of a firearm and a person illegally in the country in possession of a firearm after a five-year delay over concerns about his mental health.
His attorney, Mike Hinckley, told the court on Monday that Garcia-Zarate “feels horrible about what happened, and that he’s very sorry and apologizes.”
Steinle’s death had ignited a national debate over immigration and resulted in then-presidential candidate Donald Trump calling for a crackdown on illegal migrants and sanctuary cities, including San Francisco, that refused to cooperate with federal immigration authorities. (Illegal immigrant cleared in Kate Steinle death gets time served for gun charge.)
Jorge Mario Bergoglio, though, had no trouble mentioning the name of George Floyd following his death at the hands of police officer Derek Chauvin on May 26, 2020, in Minneapolis, Minnesota:
I greet the English-speaking faithful joining us through the media.
Dear brothers and sisters in the United States, I have witnessed with great concern the disturbing social unrest in your nation in these past days, following the tragic death of Mr George Floyd.
My friends, we cannot tolerate or turn a blind eye to racism and exclusion in any form and yet claim to defend the sacredness of every human life. At the same time, we have to recognize that “the violence of recent nights is self-destructive and self-defeating. Nothing is gained by violence and so much is lost”.
Today I join the Church in Saint Paul and Minneapolis, and in the entire United States, in praying for the repose of the soul of George Floyd and of all those others who have lost their lives as a result of the sin of racism. Let us pray for the consolation of their grieving families and friends and let us implore the national reconciliation and peace for which we yearn. May Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of America, intercede for all those who work for peace and justice in your land and throughout the world.
May God bless all of you and your families. (Jorge Speaks about George Floyd and Riots.)
This is interesting on several accounts, starting with the fact that it is not at all clear the Derek Chauvin’s killing of George Floyd was motivated by racism as the two knew each other and may have had a history of personal conflict that had nothing at all to do with the fact that Chauvin is white, and Floyd was black.
Second, it is interesting that the conciliar revolutionaries, starting with Jorge Mario Bergoglio himself, invoke “racism” and the “sacredness of human life” while being not almost absolutely silent about the daily slaughter of the innocent preborn but aiding and abetting the politicians and jurists who support this slaughter because they are said to “pro-life” in their support of family-destroying social welfare and income redistribution programs, opposition to the death penalty, opposition to the enforcement of just laws to protect national boundaries, opposition to even just wars and almost total support for the perverse agenda of the homosexualist collective.
Yes, Border Czar Thomas D. Homan is quite correct about the hypocrisy of Jorge Mario and his shipmates aboard the SS Apostasy. However, we need to pray for him so that he can come to see that what is thinks is the Catholic Church is nothing other than a counter church filled with Catholic hating Modernists who engage in a masquerade as alleged officials of Holy Mother Church when they are actually active agents of Antichrist himself as are the lords of the world who indemnify violent illegal immigrants while they make war upon all innocent life from the moment of conception through all subsequent stages until death.
As Pope Leo XIII explained in Humanum Genus, April 20, 1884, there can be no sense of justice when men lose sight of First and Last Things:
But the naturalists go much further; for, having, in the highest things, entered upon a wholly erroneous course, they are carried headlong to extremes, either by reason of the weakness of human nature, or because God inflicts upon them the just punishment of their pride. Hence it happens that they no longer consider as certain and permanent those things which are fully understood by the natural light of reason, such as certainly are -- the existence of God, the immaterial nature of the human soul, and its immortality. The sect of the Freemasons, by a similar course of error, is exposed to these same dangers; for, although in a general way they may profess the existence of God, they themselves are witnesses that they do not all maintain this truth with the full assent of the mind or with a firm conviction. Neither do they conceal that this question about God is the greatest source and cause of discords among them; in fact, it is certain that a considerable contention about this same subject has existed among them very lately. But, indeed, the sect allows great liberty to its votaries, so that to each side is given the right to defend its own opinion, either that there is a God, or that there is none; and those who obstinately contend that there is no God are as easily initiated as those who contend that God exists, though, like the pantheists, they have false notions concerning Him: all which is nothing else than taking away the reality, while retaining some absurd representation of the divine nature.
When this greatest fundamental truth has been overturned or weakened, it follows that those truths, also, which are known by the teaching of nature must begin to fall -- namely, that all things were made by the free will of God the Creator; that the world is governed by Providence; that souls do not die; that to this life of men upon the earth there will succeed another and an everlasting life.
When these truths are done away with, which are as the principles of nature and important for knowledge and for practical use, it is easy to see what will become of both public and private morality. We say nothing of those more heavenly virtues, which no one can exercise or even acquire without a special gift and grace of God; of which necessarily no trace can be found in those who reject as unknown the redemption of mankind, the grace of God, the sacraments, and the happiness to be obtained in heaven. We speak now of the duties which have their origin in natural probity. That God is the Creator of the world and its provident Ruler; that the eternal law commands the natural order to be maintained, and forbids that it be disturbed; that the last end of men is a destiny far above human things and beyond this sojourning upon the earth: these are the sources and these the principles of all justice and morality.
If these be taken away, as the naturalists and Freemasons desire, there will immediately be no knowledge as to what constitutes justice and injustice, or upon what principle morality is founded. And, in truth, the teaching of morality which alone finds favor with the sect of Freemasons, and in which they contend that youth should be instructed, is that which they call "civil," and "independent," and "free," namely, that which does not contain any religious belief. But, how insufficient such teaching is, how wanting in soundness, and how easily moved by every impulse of passion, is sufficiently proved by its sad fruits, which have already begun to appear. For, wherever, by removing Christian education, this teaching has begun more completely to rule, there goodness and integrity of morals have begun quickly to perish, monstrous and shameful opinions have grown up, and the audacity of evil deeds has risen to a high degree. All this is commonly complained of and deplored; and not a few of those who by no means wish to do so are compelled by abundant evidence to give not infrequently the same testimony. (Pope Leo XIII, Humanum Genus, April 20, 1884.)
Yes, there is no “knowledge” of what constitutes justice and injustice in a land that gives full rein to blasphemy and sacrilege, a land where even the adversary himself has “rights” as it is considered to be something akin to a “hate” crime to mention the Holy Name of the Divine Redeemer, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, which had been banned by United States Department of Defense and its military services from being invoked outside of chaplaincy use prior to January 20, 2025, the Feast of Saints Fabian and Sebastian.
How can we expect there to be any concept of justice even on the natural level when their nations promote public worship of the devil while mocking Christ the King?
How can we expect there to be any concept of justice even on the natural level when the civil law sanctions the killing of the innocent preborn and the vivisection of anyone after birth under the aegis of the medical industry’s manufactured, profit-making myth called “brain death”?
How can we expect there to be any concept of justice even on the natural level when so many people are unjust in their own personal dealings, when relativism and positivism have become the accepted norms of social conduct?
Putting Aside All Emotion
Catholics must put aside all emotion on the explosive issue of illegal immigration in order to look at the concrete principles (the right and duty of nations to defend their borders and to control the flow of immigration according to just laws) as they seek how to apply those principles in a prudent manner that is conducive to national security and at the same time takes account of the actual circumstances in which those who have heretofore entered one's country illegally find themselves.
We must remember that those who have entered this country illegally or are trying to seek illegal entry into it are human beings who possess souls created in the image and likeness of the Most Blessed Trinity and have been redeemed, whether or not they know it or understand much about it if they do, by the Most Precious Blood Our Divine Redeemer, Christ the King. They cannot be dismissed in a demagogic fashion as threats to the “purity of the blood” or as objects to be derided. Many of these people have been the victims of the human traffickers and others are truly desperate about the situations in their home countries. Even though a lot have come here for the proverbial free ride and to enjoy the benefits such are being handed out to them by the mayoral administration of the City of New York, New York, and by the administration of Governor Gavin Newsom in California, illegal aliens must be the object of our prayers as we pray also for justice to be done in their cases while maintaining the public health and national security of native-born citizens and restoring the country’s territorial integrity.
Many there are, especially among Catholic "bishops" and priests/presbyters who are of the "leftist" bent of naturalism, who have served as nothing other than demagogues on the issue of illegal immigration, seeking to encourage non-Americans, especially from Mexico and Central America, to ignore American laws and then to serve as their ready enablers so as to lobby Federal, state, and local officials for various social services for these illegal immigrants. Some even have gone so far as to say that one cannot consider himself "pro-life" unless he believes in a national policy of "open borders" and then for a full panoply of social services to be extended to those who have entered our country without following a just and orderly process of immigration. Men such as Roger "Cardinal" Mahony, the disgraced former "archbishop" of Los Angeles, have been egregious in their open support of the flaunting of the just laws of the United States of America, daring to assert that the cause of defending those who have deliberately and willfully broken the just laws of this country are victims of "oppression" and that theirs is a "human rights" cause founded in the "dignity of man."
Other Catholics, especially those who are committed to one or another of the "rightist" bents of naturalism, engage in no small bit of demagoguery on their own parts, demonstrating in some instances a nativist mentality towards non-Americans that is eerily and most ironically similar to the nativist mentality exhibited by Freemasons and white Anglo-Saxon Protestants against Catholics who were emigrating from Ireland and Italy and parts of Central and Eastern Europe, including what is again today the nation of Poland that what was then divided among the German, Austro-Hungarian and Russian Empires, in the Nineteenth and early-Twentieth Centuries. (See Appendix A, below.)
Catholics, therefore, should be the last ones on the face of the earth to resort to any kind of nativism whatsoever as it is wrong for those of us who are disciples of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as He has revealed Himself to us exclusively through His true Church that He founded on the Rock of Peter, the Pope, and was brought to her birthday on Pentecost Sunday to lose sight of the fact that Our Lord died to redeem the soul of each and every human being on the face of this earth, and that we are treat every human being as we would treat Him in the very Flesh. What would we say to Our Lord, "Get out of America, you Nazarene, you. America is for Americans, not Nazarenes"?
Yet it is that, fallen human nature being what it is, Catholics have practiced bigotry, sometimes upon their very arrival to these shores. A former graduate student of mine from Saint John's University in Jamaica, Queens, back in the 1985-1986 academic year told me the story of what his maternal grandmother said upon her arrival fresh off the boat from Ireland when she realized that her neighbors in Floral Park, Queens, were Italian-Americans: "Look, there's foreigners living next to us!" Bigotry has no place in the heart of a believing Catholic as the only "foreigners" to Our Lord at the General Judgment of the living and the dead on the Last Day will be those who had persisted until the end outside of the Catholic Church and/or who died in a state of final impenitence.
Social Engineering and American Immigration Law
American immigration law has varied from time to time. There have been efforts to preserve a "white European heritage" by seeking to establish quotas from non-European countries. And there has been an effort in the past forty-five years to encourage immigration from non-European nations so as to change the social, political and economic composition of the United States of America.
The Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 banned Chinese immigration to the United States until its repeal in 1948. This more or less continued United States immigration policies first established in 1790 to bar all but those who were deemed to be "white" from being naturalized as citizens, although non-whites could live as permanent residents without the privileges of citizens.
The Immigration Act of 1924 limited immigration from European to countries to two percent of number of people from a particular country that had already emigrated to the United States and barred the immigration of Asians almost entirely. The two percent quota was an effort to reduce the numbers of people coming from eastern and southern Europe. Those from Latin American countries were permitted to emigrate to this country without any limitations or quotas whatsoever. Although there were changes made to the quota system and racial restrictions were removed by the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, the first sweeping measure of true modern social engineering by means of American immigration law occurred with the now infamous Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, which was signed into law by then President Lyndon Baines Johnson on October 3, 1965.
The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 was a sweeping measure of social engineering designed by the socialists of the administration of President Lyndon Baines Johnson and Vice President Hubert Horatio Humphrey to alter the demographics of the United States of America so that those of a white and "Christian" background would be in the minority of the population--and hence of the electorate--within a hundred years or so. These social engineers could be confident in their success as the Johnson administration oversaw passage of legislation in 1967 that mandate the states and localities to implement "family planning" programs, knowing that the more affluent white population would be inclined to accept contraception in order to "enjoy" their material success while those in the non-white population could be told that the use of "family planning" would be helpful to their own economic stability. Despite all of the loud protestations at the time, the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 was an effort to reshape the American electorate so as to institutionalize the sort of social engineering being implement by means of Lyndon Johnson's "War on Poverty" and "Great Society," both of which were responsible for the large increase in the size and scope and power of the Federal government of the United States of America since the "New Deal" of the thirty-third degree Freemason Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the 1930s.
Oh, yes, the protestations were loud. They were also entirely disingenuous.
Consider these comments made by the late United States Senator from Massachusetts, Edward Moore Kennedy:
"First, our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same.... Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset.... Contrary to the charges in some quarters, [the bill] will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia.... In the final analysis, the ethnic pattern of immigration under the proposed measure is not expected to change as sharply as the critics seem to think.... The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs." (U.S. Senate, Subcommittee on Immigration and Naturalization of the Committee on the Judiciary, Washington, D.C., Feb. 10, 1965. pp. 1-3.)
Quite the anti-prophet, wouldn't you say?
Lyndon Johnson himself, ever the liar, cheat, scoundrel and all around fake, phony and fraud, was equally disingenuous in the comments he made at the signing ceremony of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965:
This bill that we will sign today is not a revolutionary bill. It does not affect the lives of millions. It will not reshape the structure of our daily lives, or really add importantly to either our wealth or our power. (President Lyndon Baines Johnson, October 3, 1965.)
Indeed, the election of someone along the lines of Barack Hussein Obama is exactly what the social engineers who gave us the Hart-Celler Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 (named after the late United States Senator Philip Hart, a Democrat from Michigan, and the late United States Representative Emmanuel "Manny" Celler, a Democrat from Brooklyn, New York, who was the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee from 1949 to 1953 and again from 1955 to 1973) had in mind when this law passed in 1965. (See an article in the Boston Globe from 2008 that discussed the effects of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 on the election of 2008: Obama victory took root in Kennedy-inspired Immigration Act of 1965.) There is no turning back the effects of the Hart-Celler Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965. Our situation is what it is, and it has certainly helped produce a political climate favorable to the election of statists such as Barack Hussein Obama and thence to Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., twelve years later.
Our lives have been revolutionized by the Hart-Celler Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, and as the counterfeit church of conciliarism in the United States of America made its own "reconciliation" with the goals in this act as it celebrated "diversity" and "pluralism" in the "free" United States of America, the land of "religious liberty."
This "reconciliation" involved sometimes very subtle efforts to de-emphasize Catholicism on the campuses of traditionally Catholic colleges in order not to "offend" non-Catholic students from Asia and Africa. I was told by a colleague of mine at Saint John's University in Jamaica, Queens, upon returning to adjunct teaching there in January of 1991 after an absence of about two and one-half years from the campus, "Be careful, Tom. Things have changed. You can't be as Catholic now as you were before. The study body is different. No more prayers at the beginning of class." This was advice, not "official" policy. I ignored the advice (and I haven't taught there since the Spring of 1992). Conciliarists used "sensitivity" for the "diverse" nature of the once Catholic colleges in their control to prevent Catholicism from being taught by the few professors interested in teaching their subject matters in light of the Holy Faith and interested in helping their students to get home to Heaven as members of the Catholic Church, no less to exhort non-Catholic students to convert.
American immigration law has been used in the past fifty-nine years to make it difficult for Europeans (what few of them are left, that is) to emigrate to this country as those from traditionally non-Christian nations have permitted to come here in droves and thus take their place in American society. This has indeed changed the social, political, and economic landscape of the United States of America quite a lot.
Concluding Remarks
Human nature is wounded, although not entirely corrupted, by Original Sin, leaving the souls of the unbaptized in the grip of the devil and the souls of the baptized with its vestigial after-effects: a darkened intellect, weakened will and the overthrow of the rational, higher faculties in favor of the lower sensual appetites. The Actual Sins of men incline them to sin more and more and to blind them to anything other than what pleases them and their immediate self-interests, no matter how distorted or perverted those self-interests are in the objective order of things.
We must reparation for our sins, especially all those omission in the face error or to keep peace with relatives who are living in sin for fear of human respect as our relatives commit, objectively speaking, one Mortal Sin after another for which they will be held to account unless they confess each one by number and kind as much as they are able, which have worsened the state of the world-at-large and the state of the Church Militant here on earth more than we would like to recognize or admit
Men who do not seek to reform their lives by confessing their sins to a true priest in the Sacred Tribunal of Penance and then cooperating with the ineffable graces of the Divine Redeemer’s Most Precious Blood that flow into their souls once a priest utters the words of Absolution or, worse yet, do not even realize that there is any need to so will descend to barbarism over the course of time, which is why we must intensify our conscious efforts to give our very selves and all that we do and say to Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as His consecrated slaves through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of His Most Blessed Mother as we pray as many Rosaries each day as our state-in-life permits.
Remember that, in the end, the Immaculate Heart of Mary will triumph!
To quote Pope Saint Pius X, “Pray for the restoration to come!”
On the Feast of Saint Ignatius of Antioch
Today, February 1, 2025, is the Feast of Saint Ignatius of Antioch, who had, as a little boy, sat on the knees of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ when He beckoned the little children to come unto Him, was the third successor of Saint Peter as the Bishop of Antioch. It was as the Bishop of Antioch that he willing to ground to death by wild beast so as to spring up to eternal life.
Dom Prosper Gueranger, whose authentic liturgical renewal was hijacked by Modernist revolutionaries in the second decade of the Twentieth Century (see Dr. Carol A. Byrne’s very well-documented series about this hijacking; here are several links to articles that lead to subsequent entries: The Start of the New Liturgical Reform, Dialogue Mass, a Tool to Democratize Liturgy, Laity-Clergy Class Struggle Based on ‘Active Participation’, Pius XI Initiates Active Participation, and my own G.I.R.M. Warfare: The Conciliar Church's Unremitting Warfare Against Catholic Faith and Worship), provided a wonderful hagiography of the saint who made no compromise with error nor indemnified any sinner in his life of perdition:
Two days more, and the happy season of Christmas will be over! This is the vigil of its termination, and lo! there comes to gladden us one of the grandest Martyrs of the year--Ignatius surnamed the Theophorus (i.e. he that carries God, or, he that is carried of God), Bishop of Antioch. A venerable tradition tells us, that this old man, who so generously confessed the faith before Trajan, was the child whom Jesus took into his arms, and showed to his Disciples as a model of that simplicity, which we must all have, if we would enter into the kingdom of heaven. Today he appears before us, standing near the Crib, in which this same Jesus gives us His own divine lessons of humility and simplicity.
But, in this the Court of our Emmanuel, Ignatius stands near to Peter, the Feast of whose Chair we kept a few days since; for the Prince of the Apostles made him his second successor in his first See of Antioch. From so honoured a position Ignatius derived that courage, which made him resist a powerful Emperor even to his face, defy the wild beasts of the amphitheatre, and triumph by a glorious martyrdom. As it were to show the supremacy of the See of Rome, Divine Providence willed that he, with his chains upon him, should go to see Peter (Gal. i. 18), and finish his course in the Holy City, and thus mingle his blood with that of the Apostles. Rome would have been imperfect without the glory of Ignatius' martyrdom, which is the pride of her Coliseum, rich as it is with the blood of so many thousands of Martyrs.
Ignatius' character is impetuosity of love for his God. He has but one fear--it is, that the prayers of the Romans will stay the lions from devouring him, and his desire of being united to Christ be thus denied him. Let us admire this superhuman fortitude, which shows itself thus suddenly amidst the pagan world, and let us acknowledge, that so ardent a love of God, and so vehement a longing to possess him, could only have come from the accomplishment of the Mysteries of our Redemption, which showed man how much God loved him. The Crib of Bethlehem, even had there never been the Sacrifice of Calvary, would, of itself, be sufficient to convince us of all this. God comes down from heaven for the sake of His creature, man; He himself becomes Man, nay, a Child, and is laid in a manger! Such miracles of love would have sufficed to save the guilty world; how, then, shall they not have power to prompt men to give their whole heart to their loving God? And would it be too much, if we made a sacrifice of our very lives to repay our Jesus for only that much of his love, which He showed us by being Born among us?
The Church gives us, in the Lessons of today's Office, the brief account of our Saint given by St. Jerome in his Book On Ecclesiastical Writers. The holy Doctor has inserted a few sentences from the Martyr's admirable Epistle, written to the Faithful of Rome. We would have gladly offered the whole of this Epistle to our readers, had it not been for want of space. But the passages quoted by St. Jerome are some of the finest.
Ignatius was the third Bishop of Antioch after the Apostle Peter. When Trajan stirred up his persecution, he was condemned to be devoured by wild beasts, and sent to Rome in chains. When on his journey thither he arrived at Smyrna, where Polycarp, the disciple of John, was Bishop, he wrote an Epistle to the Ephesians, another to the Magnesians, a third to the Trallians, and a fourth to the Romans and after leaving Smyrna, he addressed a further Epistle to the Philadelphians, and another to the Smyrnians, along with a private Epistle to Polycarp, to whose care he commended the Church of Antioch. In this last he quoteth a passage.
It is fitting that, as we have made mention of a man of so much importance, we should also note briefly the Epistle which he addressed to the Romans. I am on my way, saith he, from Syria to Rome, and am already fighting with beasts on sea and on land all the way. I may say I am chained day and night to ten leopards, for indeed the soldiers, who have charge of me, are no better. The more courteous I am to them, the worse they use me. But still their wickedness is good schooling for me, though I know that my mere sufferings cannot in themselves gain me justification. I earnestly wish for the beasts which are to devour me; at any rate, I pray they may put me out of pain quickly, and fly on me willingly, that I be not like some other Martyrs, whose bodies the animals have refused to touch. If I find that they will not come on, I will run at them as quick as I can, to make them devour me. Let me be, my little children I know what is good for me.
I feel now that I am beginning to be Christ's disciple; I desire none of those things which are seen, if so be I may find Christ Jesus. I care not that there come upon me fire, or cross, or wild beasts, or breaking of my bones, or sundering of my members, or destruction of my whole body, yea, or all the torments of the devil, if only so be I may win Christ. When he was brought condemned to the theatre, and heard the roaring of the beasts which were to devour him, he felt so strong an eagerness to suffer, that he cried out I am Christ's wheat, and so let the beasts' teeth be my mill, that I may be ground, and be found to make good bread.
He suffered in the eleventh year of Trajan. What was left of his body lieth at Antioch, in the graveyard outside the gate which leadeth toward Daphne. (Saint Jerome on the Ecclesiastical Writers, Matins, The Divine Office, Feast of Saint Ignatius of Antioch.)
All thy desires were satisfied, O glorious Martyr! Thou hast died for Jesus--thou art with Jesus. Rome's sons and daughters filled the Colyseum; their savage joy made it tremble with their cheers as they saw thee mangled by the lions. It was the hour thou hadst prayed for--thy sacrifice for Him, who had sacrificed himself for thee, is over, and thy soul is buried in his divine embrace! Generous and impetuous lover of Christ! thou wast ambitious to pay thy debt to the Crucified--the debt of suffering. It seemed to thee, that thou hadst no right to His kingdom, until thou hadst repaid his Passion by some cruel tortures endured for Him. O worthy companion of Stephen, Sebastian, Vincent, and Agnes! how rich and verdant is the Palm thou holdest over thy Jesus' Crib! Canst thou look upou us, weak Christian cowards, and not pity us? Pray for us that we may at least be faithful to our Lord, when we are persecuted by the temptations of the world, the flesh, and the devil; that we may, at least, give our hearts to his service, if we are not to be permitted to give our bodies to be tortured for His name. Thou wast chosen, when a little child, as the model of the simplicity which our Saviour was teaching to His Disciples, and this innocence never left thee:--ask for us from Him, who is the King of Little Children, that one of the graces of the Christmas we have been keeping, may be this holy Simplicity of heart.
Successor of Peter in the See of Antioch! pray for the Churches of thy Patriarchate, that they may return to the true Faith and Catholic unity. Intercede for the holy City of Rome, which thou didst water with thy blood, and which is now in possession of thy sacred Relics, that were saved from the lions' jaws. Watch over the maintenance of ecclesiastical discipline and order, of which thou hast left such admirable rules in thy Epistles; and obtain for the Church, that all the members of her hierarchy may be united in the bonds of duty and love, that thus she may be beautiful in the strength of her unity and terrible to the enemies of God, as an army set in array (1 Cant. vi. 3). (Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B., The Liturgical Year, Feast of Saint Ignatius of Antioch, February 1.)
Invoking the help of Saint Ignatius of Antioch, may we remain ever strong in the Holy Faith and stand ever ready to offer ourselves to the white martyrdom that is daily living and, if necessary, the red martyrdom that is the passport to direct entry into an unending Easter Sunday of glory in Heaven before the Beatific Vision of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost for all eternity.

A Thumbnail History of American Anti-Catholicism
Various laws were passed to discriminate against Catholic immigrants.
The General Court state legislature of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, at the behest of the Unitarian named Horace Mann, created the first state department of education in 1837 as a means of "standardizing" educational standards in public schools so that the children of Catholic immigrants would learn the ways of religious indifferentism and egalitarianism and democracy.
One author, evidently not a Catholic, put the matter this way:
There were no government schools in any modern sense of that term until the 1840s, when Horace Mann’s Unitarians started them up in Massachusetts as what were then known as common schools. Mann had been to Prussia where he learned of a far different view of the relationship between central government and its citizens than our own tradition which sees the individual as special both morally and economically. Prussian schools considered children property of the state, and educated them accordingly. They were raised to be obedient to the state, their purpose being to advance the interests of the state.
Shortt also cites Robert Owen, one of the Anglo-American world’s first influential socialists, who developed a similar philosophy of education. Owen believed that children should be separated from their parents as early as possible and raised by the state. He believed people were exclusively the products of their social environments, and that if nurtured properly by the state, could be molded into whatever was desired. A key to the thinking that went into forming the official ideology of state-sponsored education was that human beings are innately good, not sinful, and that human nature could be perfected by the right kind of educational system. The ideology that eventually developed would hold that children could be molded into willing consumers of the products of big business and obedient servants of government. In short, the aims of state-sponsored schools were to transform thinking, highly individualistic and very literate citizens into an unthinking, collectivized mass. The slow but steady decline in literacy of all kinds was a by-product.
Why did nineteenth century Christians go along with this scheme? One of the central reasons was that most were Protestants who hoped common schools would slow the spread of Catholicism in the new world. What mattered most about Horace Mann was that he wasn’t sympathetic to Catholicism! It mattered less that he and his Unitarian colleagues were preaching that man could perfect himself through his own efforts, and that compulsory education was a means to this end. So Protestant Christians, including many clergy, supported government schools thinking they could control them.
Very slowly, Pandora’s Box opened. A creeping secularization began. A few theologians (R.L. Dabney is an example) warned of the emerging dangers of state-sponsored education. Dabney, who was no friend of Catholics, was surprisingly prescient. He warned that the danger was not Catholicism but secularism, and that if the common school movement continued unchecked, government schools would end up entirely secular institutions. Christianity – in whatever form – would eventually be driven from them. At the heart of the danger was the transference of responsibility for education from the home to the government, an inherently secular institution. (Steven Yates, A Book Review of Bruce Shortt's "The Harsh Truth About Government Schools," The Harsh Truth About Government Schools by Steven Yates.)
An entire political party, the Know Nothing Party (or American Party), was formed in 1845 to protest the influx of German and Irish immigrants to the United States of America. Part of the larger "Know Nothing" movement (named not for fictional Sergeant Hans Schultz of Hogan's Heroes, but for members of this movement saying that they "knew nothing" about its activities when questioned) that sponsored mob riots against Catholics in various areas, including the attacking and killing of individual Catholics and the burning of Catholic church buildings and schools. Know Nothings won control of the Massachusetts General Court in the elections of 1854, being successful as well in electing their candidates as mayors of the cities of Chicago, Illinois, and San Francisco, California. Ohio was a particular stronghold of the Know-Nothings, who nominated former President Millard Fillmore, who had succeeded to the presidency of the United States of America upon the death of President Zachary Taylor on July 9, 1850, and served the remainder of Taylor's term (which ended on March 4, 1853), for president in 1856.
Indeed, a concomitant hatred of Catholics among the nativists of the middle to the latter part of the Nineteenth Century subjected many of our religious ancestors on these shores. Catholic immigrants to the United States of America, first those from Ireland and then, after the War between the States and during the Kulturkampf in Germany and the Risorgimento in Italy, those from eastern and southern Europe, plunged headlong into this spectator sport of electoral politics as it provided them with the fastest means of upward social and economic mobility at a time when there was overt--and sometimes quite violent--discrimination against them on the part of know-nothings and other assorted naturalists associated with Freemasonry.
Catholic immigrants to the United States of America in the Nineteenth Century faced overt hostility, up to and including violence, from thugs of Protestant and Judeo-Masonic nativists. Father Pierre Jean De Smet, S.J., who had to sneak away from his family in Belgium to study for the priesthood in the United States of America, where he was ordained and was especially beloved by the Indians of the Northwest, experienced the violent state of affairs facing Catholic immigrants in the Nineteenth Century:
The Carbonari, then numerous in America, received their orders direct from European lodges. They edited a paper, L’Eco d’Italia, and labored unceasingly to prejudice the people against the Church and trammel the authority of the Bishops. In the hope of recovering their waning influence, the Protestant ministers made common cause with the revolutionaries. This was the beginning of a vast conspiracy, which imperiled, for a time, Catholic liberty in the United States.
The Know-Nothings, a new society, began to be organized about 1852. Theirs was a secret order, which bound its members by a solemn oath. It was formed, ostensibly, to defend the rights of the poor against European invasion. “America is for Americans” was its slogan. With this object in view, they endeavored to have severe naturalization laws enacted against the new arrivals from Europe, and exclude citizens born of foreign parents from holding public offices. In reality, these fanatics combated not so much the foreign immigration as the fidelity of Europeans, especially the Irish, to the Church of Rome. To base calumnies they added murder, pillage, incendiarism, and, before long, found an occasion for opening the campaign. In the spring of 1853 the Papal Nuncio to Brazil, Archbishop Bedini, arrived in New York, bringing the Sovereign Pontiff’s blessing to the faithful in the United States. He was charged, moreover, to investigate the conditions of Catholicism in the great Republic.
The Know-Nothings saw in this mission a grave attack upon American liberties. Their newspapers denounced the perfidious and ambitious intrigues of Rome. The apostate priest Gavazzi came from London and placed his eloquence at the service of his follow-socialists and friends. For several months he followed the Envoy form one city to the other, vomiting forth lies, threatening him with dire reprisals, and through fiery denunciation endeavored to stir up the masses against the “Papists.”
From vituperation and abuse there was but one step to action. On Christmas day in Cincinnati a band of assassins attempted to do away with the Nuncio. Driven off by the police, they revenged themselves by burning him in effigy. This odious scene was enacted in several towns. Conditions pointing to renewed attacks, Archbishop Bedini was forced to depart after a short sojourn in the United States. But the hostilities did not cease with the departure of the Nuncio. The campaign lasted for three years, attended by violent outrages and attacks, and armed forces had presently to interfere to defend life and property. A witness of these disorders, Father De Smet draws a gloomy picture of existing conditions in his letters. “The times are becoming terrible for Catholics in these unhappy States. Nowhere in the world do honest men enjoy less liberty.”
“European demagogues, followers of Kossuth, Mazzini, etc., have sworn to exterminate us. Seven Catholic churches have been sacked and burned; those courageous enough to defend them have been assassinated.” “The future grows darker, and we are menaced from every side. If our enemies succeed in electing a President from ranks–until now the chances have been in their favor–Catholics will be debarred from practicing their religion; our churches and schools will be burned and pillaged, and murder will result from these brawls. During this present time [1854] over twenty thousand Catholics have fled to other countries seeking refuge from persecution, and many more talk of following them. The right to defame and exile is the order of the day in this great Republic, now the rendezvous of the demagogues and outlaws of every country.”
No laws were enacted for the protection of Catholics, and in some States the authorities were openly hostile. “The legislators of New York and Pennsylvania are now busy with the temporal affairs of the Church, which they wish take out of the hands of the Bishops. These States have taken the initiative, and others will soon follow. In Massachusetts, a mischief-making inquisition has just been instituted, with the object of investigating affairs in religious houses. In Boston, a committee of twenty-four rascals, chosen from among the legislators, of which sixty are Protestant ministers, searched and inspected a convent of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.”
While making a tour of the Jesuit houses with the Provincial, Father De Smet more than once braved the fury of the fanatics. In Cincinnati, a priest could not show himself in the street without being insulted by renegade Germans, Swiss, and Italians. In Louisville, thirty Catholics were killed in an open square and burned alive in their houses. Those who attempted to flee were driven back into the flames at the point of pistols and knives. Even in St. Louis, several attempts were made in one week upon the lives of citizens. The Jesuits were not spared. At Ellsworth, Maine, Father Bapst was taken by force from the house of a Catholic where he was hearing confessions, was covered with pitch, rolled in feathers, tied, swung by his hands and feet to a pole, and carried through the city to the accompaniment of gross insults. (Father E. Lavaille, S.J., The Life of Father De Smet, S.J. (1801-1873): Apostle of the Rocky Mountains, published originally in 1915 by P. J. Kenedy & Sons, New York, New York, and reprinted by TAN Books and Publishers in 2000 with the additions and the subtitle, “Apostle of the Rocky Mountains.” pp. 262-265.)
This was not taught in American history classes sixty years ago when I was in high school, and it is certainly not being taught today, is it?
Interestingly, the aforementioned-Know Nothing Party (or American Party), was actually formed in 1845 by the first Talmudist elected to Congress, Lewis Charles Levin. Levin formed the Know Nothings not to oppose immigration in general but to protest the influx of German and Irish Catholic immigrants to the United States of America. In other words, the Know Nothing Party was founded by a Jew to oppose the immigration of Catholics to this country because he wanted to preserve the "American way," which, of course, provides plenty of space for the devil and his false religions, starting with Talmudism, of course, while seeking to intimidate Catholics in this country from knowing anything about, no less proclaiming openly, the Social Reign of Christ the King over men and their nations. Americanism is thus an expression of the Talmudic ethos that celebrates error while scorning the truth including Truth Incarnate Himself.
It is only the adversary who inspires men to hate each other in full violation of the following admonition of Our Blessed Lord Saviour Jesus Christ:
Give to him that asketh of thee and from him that would borrow of thee turn not away. 43 You have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thy enemy. 44 But I say to you, Love your enemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them that persecute and calumniate you: 45 That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven, who maketh his sun to rise upon the good, and bad, and raineth upon the just and the unjust.
46 For if you love them that love you, what reward shall you have? do not even the publicans this? 47 And if you salute your brethren only, what do you more? do not also the heathens this? 48 Be you therefore perfect, as also your heavenly Father is perfect. (Matthew 5: 42-48.)
Well, the dethroning of God as He has revealed Himself to us exclusively through His true Church and the subsequent deification of man by the forces of Judeo-Masonry has led to a warfare against the humanity of the innocent child in the womb by the use of such dehumanizing terms as "miscellaneous mass of cells" or a "product" of conception.
The Blaine amendments, named after the virulently anti-Catholic James G. Blaine (R-Maine), who, in additional to being the Republican Party nominee for President of the United States of America in 1884, served in the United States House of Representatives (where he was the Speaker of the House from 1869 to 1875) and the United States Senate and served two different terms in two different presidencies as the United States Secretary of State, prohibited the use of public funding of any kind to subsidize schools operated by religious organizations.
Members of the Grand Orient Masonic lodge of Oregon, using all of their considerable clout, joined forces with their great ally, the Ku Klux Klan, and others to sponsor an initiative (a referendum that, if approved by voters, becomes law as though it had been passed by a state legislature) to amend the Compulsory Education Act to, in effect, outlaw Catholic schools in the State of Oregon by mandating that all children be "educated" in public schools. This effort was rendered unconstitutional by the Supreme Court of the United States of America in the case of Pierce v. Society of Sisters, June 1, 1925.
The State of North Dakota, long a den of Masonic activity (Freemasons in the newly formed state legislature in 1889 sought to "liberalize" existing divorce laws as a means of destabilizing the family, something that was fought by the founding bishop of the Diocese of Jamestown (later Fargo), North Dakota, John Shanley), passed an anti-garb law in 1947 to require priests and consecrated religious to wear lay clothing when teaching in public schools. The Freemasons of North Dakota hoped to force a crisis of conscience for priests and religious that would prompt the two bishops of North Dakota from prohibiting their clergy and religious to teach in public schools. Bishops Leo Dworschak of Fargo and Vincent Ryan of Bismarck got permission from the Holy See for the clergy and the religious to wear lay clothing, thereby avoiding that crisis of conscience:
When the "anti-garb" campaign was waged in North Dakota in 1948, Bishop Ryan led in the defense of the rights of those wearing religious garb to teach in the public schools of the state. The opposition was well organized and had carried on vigorous campaign before the Catholics of the state were aware of their activities. Bishop Ryan rose to the challenge, and his efforts to defeat this measure were very nearly successful. In conjunction with Bishop Leo Dworschak of the Fargo Diocese, he appealed to the Holy See for permission for the sisters to teach in lay clothing. The victory for the anti-Catholics and the bigots was rendered empty when the Holy See granted their request. Friends and enemies alike had a new admiration for Bishop Ryan following this campaign. (History of Bishop Vincent J. Ryan.)
Did I hear anyone out there chant the slogan of "states' rights"?
Anti-Catholicism is still alive and well in the United States of America.
I know only too well as I was one of those on the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s list of “radical traditionalist Catholics” deemed be sources of “domestic terrorism” during the censorious, anti-free speech administration of Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., and Kamala Harris (see Believing Catholics Pose No Threat to a Just Social Order).

How Catholic Charities Helped to Defeat Robert K. Dornan in 1996
officials in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the Diocese of Orange worked with illegal immigrants to oust the outspoken opponent of baby-killing, Robert K. Dornan, from his seat in the United States House Representatives twenty years ago this year in order to elect the pro-abortion Loretta Sanchez-Brixey to Congress:
The case of former United States Representative Robert K. Dornan is quite instructive here. The Immigration and Naturalization Service conducted an investigation of the 1996 general election between Dornan and Sanchez-Brixey and discovered that over 4,000 voters voted without proper documentation. That was not enough, however, for investigators working for the United States House of Representatives, to which Dornan had appealed his "loss" to Sanchez on the grounds of election fraud, because the "fix," was in, as an article in The American Spectator reveals:
A recap, in case you're interested in that long-ago Republican surrender: If you can lay your hands on a recording or a transcript of Michael Reagan's radio show from the night of and the day after the November 1996 elections, you'll hear Reagan interviewing Dornan. Dornan told Reagan he'd been assured by the then-congressional leaders that they'd get to the bottom of the illegal voting that had put Sanchez Brixey in Dornan's rightful seat, and that they'd give Dornan whatever support he needed. After this phone-in interview ended, Reagan resignedly informed the listeners that he himself had spoken to the congressional leaders, who'd confided to Reagan they had no intention of a serious investigation into Sanchez Brixey's illegal "win," and confirming that they had been outright lying to Dornan. For one thing, she was a "double-whammy mammy" -- both Hispanic and female, and the Republicans had no ... uh, "stomach" for refuting false cries they were racist and sexist. Second, then-House Majority Leader Newt Gingrich was attempting to craft a relationship of comity with Bill Clinton, and Dornan had been one of Clinton's fieriest critics. (From The American Spectator.)
A National Review article from 1997 provides more details into the way in which Bob Dornan's 1996 election was stolen from him with the help of an Alinsky-based organization that had ties to "Catholic" Charities of the Diocese of Orange and received funding from the "Catholic" Campaign for Human Development:
Ousted Republican Congressman Robert Dornan claims, with considerable justification, that his narrow loss in the Nov 96 election to Loretta Sanchez is due to ballots cast by ineligible voters. The election fraud investigation could lead to a new election in the Orange County, CA district.
A MID January ad in the Washington Blade, a paper for the capital's homosexual community, announced the "Red Ribbon Inaugural Gala," organized by AIDS lobbyist Tom Sheridan. The aim: to aid Loretta Sanchez, the new Democratic congresswoman from Orange County, whose social-issue liberalism gets gay activists cheering almost as robustly as they boo the man she upset on November 5.
The ad described the Red Ribbon affair as a "benefit for Loretta's legal defense against Bob Dornan's continued challenge to overturn his defeat. Let's send him home once and for all."
Five weeks later, that goal of Dornan's foes looks increasingly elusive. Attorneys and investigators working with the ousted nine-term congressman continue to pile up evidence of fraud in an election decided by fewer than one thousand votes. Try as some of them might, journalists in a competitive, two-newspaper county haven't been able to ignore the smell of something rotten in the ballot results. And the Orange County district attorney is on the case.
In short, Miss Sanchez might have need of a few more fundraisers before it's all over -- and even then, there's a real chance that she, not Dornan, could be the one sent "home once and for all."
Dornan's people have compiled a knapsack full of what you might call standard-issue irregularities, the kind that made Cook County famous, and that California's lax election rules, which don't require identification from would-be voters, seem to invite in abundance. Dornan points, for instance, to at least 38 double voters, 128 absentee ballots turned in illegally, and more than 900 ballots for which there are no corresponding names on the county registrar's computer tape which is supposed to indicate who voted. Does that numbers gap reflect clerical error -- or ballot-box stuffing? Or a bit of both?
Most investigation so far has focused on noncitizens allegedly recruited to the polls by the Latino advocacy group Hermandad Mexicana Nacional, which is a sub-contractor providing citizenship classes for the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
The law says you must be a citizen to register to vote, a fact declared prominently, and repeatedly, on registration forms in California. Yet the Los Angeles Times reported on February 8 that 600 resident aliens were signed up to vote through the efforts of Hermandad, and that 407 of those people went on to cast ballots on November 5.
In addition, the paper found 105 apparently illegal aliens who also voted after registering through Hermandad.
In an affidavit produced to get a warrant to search Hermandad's Santa Ana offices, the D.A. quotes five unnamed informants, all noncitizens who were registered to vote by Hermandad. Two of them say that every person who completed an INS interview at Hermandad's headquarters was then registered to vote by Hermandad employees, before any of these registrants had become a citizen.
If that is true, it could mean hundreds or thousands more illegal votes, because as many as 12,000 people went through Hermandad classes in the months prior to the election.
The investigators working on behalf of Dornan's election challenge are frustrated that the INS won't release the citizenship status of voters, or, apparently, won't do any investigating on its own. "If the INS would be open and forthright enough to give us this data, we could get this investigation over with in a couple of days," attorney Michael Schroeder, who heads Dornan's effort, told me in early February.
On Valentine's Day, Schroeder's wish was partially fulfilled -- but not courtesy of INS officialdom. Rather, he was visited on the quiet by an INS agent who angrily complained that the agency acquiesced in illegal voting. The whistleblower brought thousands of names of people who had been enrolled in citizenship classes in Dornan's district -- many of whom hadn't become citizens by November 5. Hermandad was not the only group giving citizenship classes under INS contract. And, the whistleblower claims, Hermandad wasn't the only organization that registered noncitizens.
The Dornan team is now cross-checking the names delivered by this INS Deep Throat against the voter-registration rolls. The number of verifiably illegal votes cast in the 46th district seems certain to climb.
One of the most astute -- and cautious -- members of the Dornan investigative squad has said to me, without qualification, "We've won." He cites four developments that he believes will eventually guarantee that a new election will be called.
First, he sees indications that the district attorney's office isn't conducting a narrow inquiry, but is casting its net beyond Hermandad to other immigrant-activist groups that might have registered people illegally.
Second, the House Oversight Committee seems poised to act aggressively on Dornan's election challenge. Chairman Bill Thomas personally signed a subpoena ordering the D.A.'s office to share with the panel all data it got from its January 14 search of Hermandad's headquarters.
Third, Dornan's people are now empowered to issue their own subpoenas as part of the election-challenge process. And last, there is the stealthy assistance they're getting from INS staffers who allege that their agency was turned into a tool for the Democratic election machine.
On February 24, a subcommittee of Rep. Thomas's oversight panel is due to make an initial decision on how to handle the Dornan case. At some point it could conduct a trial-like hearing in Orange County, calling witnesses and sifting evidence, and present its judgment to the full committee, and ultimately, the full House.
Meanwhile, another House panel -- the Government Reform and Oversight Committee, chaired by Dan Burton of Indiana -- might pay a visit of its own to Orange County. Among its concerns: the millions in federal dollars showered on Hermandad and other immigrant-rights groups that have 501(c)3 tax-exempt status but nevertheless push an openly partisan agenda. (Hermandad's newspaper, for instance, carried endorsements of Clinton and Sanchez.)
Did Loretta Sanchez know anything about noncitizens registering and voting? "I want to see her asked that question under oath by one or more House committees," a local GOP congressman told me.
Some observers doubt that she was in the loop. But her record isn't hound's-tooth clean. The Los Angeles Times, no friend of Dornan, stayed neutral in the November congressional election. It declined to endorse Sanchez because she showed "questionable judgment" in becoming a business associate with Howard O. Kieffer, a Democratic activist sentenced in 1989 to five years in prison for swindling the Federal Government out of more than $200,000. Sanchez even used his office as her campaign headquarters in last March's primary.
The potency of Dornan's challenge can be gauged by the fact that a counter-offensive against investigators has begun. Hermandad supporters have picketed the Los Angles Times each time it has run stories exposing noncitizen voting. And the group's attorney accused the D.A.'s office of "strong-arm" tactics for seizing citizenship-class lists when the search-warrant was served on the group's offices.
Strong-arming? Hermandad might know a thing or two about that concept. Two of the confidential informants quoted in the D.A.'s affidavit asked to have their names withheld out of fear for their safety, according to the affidavit. One of them said, "Hermandad Mexican Nacional is very powerful and would harm [me] if it was known [I] was cooperating with law enforcement."
The affidavit also said Hermandad officials contacted individuals who had signed up to vote, "advising them not to cooperate with anyone who comes to their home asking questions about their citizenship."
There is much hyperventilating from Hermandad sympathizers about their "civil rights" being under siege.
But whose freedoms are really subverted when invalid ballots pollute the system? Surely not the polluters'.
"Hermandad is endeavoring to transmute the First Amendment into a sword to repulse legitimate criminal investigations and the prosecution of those who commit criminal acts," argued Deputy District Attorney E. Thomas Dunn Jr., in response to Hermandad's claim that the search of its offices violated constitutional protections.
Whatever else the Dornan challenge accomplishes, it will perform a service if it reminds us of the genuine civil-rights interest that attends the ballot box: the right of legitimate voters, of all colors, not to have their ballots diluted by the introduction of phony votes.
Bob Dornan never tires of recounting how he participated in the 1963 civil-rights march on Washington. Thirty-four years later, in challenging fraudulent voting, he is essentially singing another chorus of "We shall overcome."
A February 4, 1998, article by David Stout in The New York Times indicates that the investigation by the Ethics Committee of the United States House of Representatives did indeed whitewash the matter of election fraud in the Dornan-Sanchez Brixey race in 1996, although it did find evidence of such fraud, being unable to conclude that there was enough fraud to have changed the results of the election:
Her [Representative Sanchez Brixey's] joy notwithstanding, the task force's decision was not that clear-cut. Its chairman, Representative Vernon J. Ehlers, Republican of Michigan, said tonight that ''an extremely thorough examination'' had shown there was considerable fraud, but that task force members ''could not conclusively prove there were enough illegal votes to vacate the seat or overturn the election.''
Other members of the panel were Representatives Bob Ney, Republican of Ohio, and Steny Hoyer, Democrat of Maryland.
Mr. Dornan, in a statement issued by his lawyer, Michael J. Schroeder, chairman of the California Republican Party, said: ''While I am disappointed that the committee will not call for a special election, nonetheless it is clear that the committee findings vindicated what I have stated all along, which is that the citizens of the 46th Congressional District were victimized by systematic, widespread voter fraud,''Mr. Schroeder said Mr. Dornan had a month until the filing deadline to decide whether to challenge Ms. Sanchez in November.
The task force will give its recommendation to the full Committee on House Oversight on Wednesday. The committee is virtually certain to go along with the task force and ask that the House drop the matter.
Mr. Ehlers said that his panel had found ''substantial voter fraud in the 46th District,'' but that there was no way to know exactly how many votes were illegally cast.
Mr. Dornan had argued unsuccessfully that the election in the 46th was replete with fraud, including voting by noncitizens. The charges infuriated many Hispanic people and helped focus a spotlight on Ms. Sanchez.
A California grand jury investigated the 1996 contest but found insufficient evidence to return indictments.
The nexus linking "Catholic" Charities and "Catholic" Campaign for Human Development with Hermandad Mexicana Nacional was much reported in the wake of the Dornan-Sanchez Brixey race of 1996. Mrs. Block sent the following information that she found in an article written by The Wanderer's Paul Likoudis. Here is part of her note containing that information.
The 5-8-97 Wanderer published an article by Paul Likoudis, "Catholic Charities, Parishes at Hub of Vote Fraud Schemes." He writes that CC "claims to have distributed 16,000 voter registration forms to groups throughout Orange County and some officials boasted 'that they turned the election.'""
"We have a witness who says he heard a Catholic Charities worker boasting to Auxiliary Bishop Michael Driscoll [of Orange, CA] that they 'turned the election in the 46th district' -- that's my district, and we have further evidence that Catholic Charities passed out voter registrations that contained perjured statements."
Among the source documents I have in my files are papers - I think obtained by Dornan during the legal disclosure process -- that show CC of Santa Ana submitting and then resubmitting the same names (as new voter registrants gathered during the Active Citizenship Campaign) on two consecutive days. (Please see the late Mr. Paul Likoudis's May 8, 1997, report in The Wanderer).
Yes, the system is rigged, and it was rigged by men who hated the Catholic Faith:
The United States of America have exhibited, perhaps, the first example of governments erected on the simple principles of nature; and if men are now sufficiently enlightened to disabuse themselves of artifice, imposture, hypocrisy, and superstition, they will consider this event as an era in their history. Although the detail of the formation of the American governments is at present little known or regarded either in Europe or in America, it may hereafter become an object of curiosity. It will never be pretended that any persons employed in that service had interviews with the gods, or were in any degree under the influence of Heaven, more than those at work upon ships or houses, or laboring in merchandise or agriculture; it will forever be acknowledged that these governments were contrived merely by the use of reason and the senses.
Unembarrassed by attachments to noble families, hereditary lines and successions, or any considerations of royal blood, even the pious mystery of holy oil had no more influence than that other of holy water: the people universally were too enlightened to be imposed on by artifice; and their leaders, or more properly followers, were men of too much honour to attempt it. Thirteen governments thus founded on the natural authority of the people alone, without a pretence of miracle or mystery, which are destined to spread over the northern part of that whole quarter of the globe, are a great point gained in favour of the rights of mankind. (President John Adams: "A Defense of the Constitutions of Government of the United States of America," 1787-1788)
"And the day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus by the supreme being as his father in the womb of a virgin will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter. But we may hope that the dawn of reason and freedom of thought in these United States will do away {with} all this artificial scaffolding…" (11 April, 1823, John Adams letter to Thomas Jefferson, Adams-Jefferson Letters, ed. Lester J. Cappon, II, 594).
Can a free government possibly exist with the Roman Catholic religion? (John Adams, Letter to Thomas Jefferson, May 19, 1821)
I almost shudder at the thought of alluding to the most fatal example of the abuses of grief which the history of mankind has preserved -- the Cross. Consider what calamities that engine of grief has produced! (John Adams, Letter to Thomas Jefferson, quoted in 200 Years of Disbelief, by James Hauck)
"Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise, every expanded prospect."—James Madison, letter to William Bradford, Jr„ April I, 1774
". . . Freedom arises from the multiplicity of sects, which pervades America and which is the best and only security for religious liberty in any society. For where there is such a variety of sects, there cannot be a majority of any one sect to oppress and persecute the rest."—James Madison, spoken at the Virginia convention on ratification of the Constitution, June 1778
"During almost fifteen centuries has the legal establishment of Christianity been on trial. What has been its fruits? More or less in all places, pride and indolence in the clergy; ignorance and servility in the laity; in both, superstition, bigotry, and persecution."—-James Madison, "A Memorial and Remonstrance," addressed to the Virginia General Assembly, 1785
History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government. This marks the lowest grade of ignorance of which their civil as well as religious leaders will always avail themselves for their own purposes. (Thomas Jefferson, Letter to Alexander von Humboldt, December, 1813.)
May it be to the world, what I believe it will be, (to some parts sooner, to others later, but finally to all) the signal of arousing men to burst the chains under which monkish ignorance and superstition had persuaded them to bind themselves, and to assume the blessings and security of self-government. That form which we have substituted, restores the free right to the unbounded exercise of reason and freedom of opinion. All eyes are opened, or opening, to the rights of man. The general spread of the light of science has already laid open to every view the palpable truth, that the mass of mankind has not been born with saddles on their backs, nor a favored few booted and spurred, ready to ride them legitimately, by the grace of God. These are grounds of hope for others. For ourselves, let the annual return of this day forever refresh our recollections of these rights, and an undiminished devotion to them. (Thomas Jefferson, Letter to Roger Weigthman, June 24, 1826, ten days before Jefferson's death. This letter is quoted in its entirety in Dr. Paul Peterson’s now out-of-print Readings in American Democracy. Dubuque, Iowa: Kendall-Hunt, 1979, pp. 28-29. )
Thomas Jefferson was the principal author of the Declaration of Independence.
John Adams was the first vice president and second president of the United States of America.
James Madison was the secretary of the Constitutional Convention, which met from May 25, 1787, to September 17, 1787, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (and it is in that capacity that he is considered to be the “Father of the Constitution”), and the fourth president of the United States of America after having served as Jefferson's Secretary of State.
Jefferson’s letter to Roger Weightman, written just ten days before his death on July 4, 1826, precisely fifty years to the day after the promulgation of the Declaration of Independence (a date of death his shared with his one-time friend turned adversary and then friend again, John Adams), demonstrates clearly this wretched naturalist’s hope for a world freed from the shackles of what he believed to be “monkish superstition.” It is generally not a good thing to go before Christ the King at the moment of one’s Particular Judgment after having written about “monkish superstition.”
Quite specifically, you see, a nation that is not founded on right principles must degenerate into the barbarism of our present era, having no immutable teaching authority to guide it, choosing to be "guided" by the demigods of national founding fathers and/or by the shifting winds of majoritarian sentiment at any particular point in time. Contradiction and instability are bound to result, as we can see with great clarity today. It is very much beside the point to argue that the "founders" would have opposed this or that social evil. They premised the entire fabric of national life under the Constitution upon the false belief that men could sort out their differences by means of a cumbersome process of negotiation and debate in the national legislative process, believing that there was no single belief that could unite men and guide them in the pursuit of the common good as the supreme and eternal good each man was kept in mind. There is no way, therefore, for naturalists to use a naturalist Constitution to defend against various evils. Evil must win when man does not subordinate himself to the Deposit of Faith that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour entrusted exclusively to the Catholic Church and when men do not have belief in, access to or cooperation with Sanctifying Grace.
Here is a summary of the major principles that explain why naturalism is incapable of providing the framework for social order and must yield to the forces of barbarism over the course of time:
1) There are limits that exist in the nature of things beyond which men have no authority or right to transgress, whether acting individually or collectively in the institutions of civil governance.
2) There are limits that have been revealed positively by God Himself in his Divine Revelation, that bind all men in all circumstances at all times, binding even the institutions of civil governance.
3) A divinely-instituted hierarchy exists in man’s most basic natural unit of association: the family. The father is the head of the family and governs his wife and children in accord with the binding precepts of the Divine positive law and the natural law. Children do not have the authority to disobey the legitimate commands of their parents. Parents do not have the authority to issue illegitimate and/or unjust commands.
4) Our Lord Himself became Incarnate in Our Lady’s virginal and immaculate womb, subjecting Himself to the authority of His creatures, obeying his foster-father, Saint Joseph, as the head of the Holy Family, thus teaching us that all men everywhere must recognize an ultimate authority over them in their social relations, starting with the family.
5) Our Lord instituted the Catholic Church, founding it on the Rock of Peter, the Pope, to be the means by which His Deposit of Faith is safeguarded and transmitted until the end of time. The Church is the mater, mother, and magister, teacher, of all men in all nations at all times, whether or not men and nations recognize this to be the case.
6) The Pope and the bishops of the Church have the solemn obligation to proclaim nothing other than the fullness of the truths of the Faith for the good of the sanctification and salvation of men unto eternity and thus for whatever measure of common good in the temporal real, which the Church desires earnestly to promote, can be achieved in a world full of fallen men.
7) It is not possible for men to live virtuously as citizens of any country unless they first strive for sanctity as citizens of Heaven. That is, it is not possible for there to be order in any nation if men do not have belief in access to and cooperation with sanctifying grace, which equips them to accept the truths contained in the Deposit of Faith and to obey God’s commands with diligence in every aspect of their lives without exception.
8) The rulers of Christendom came to understand, although never perfectly and never without conflicts and inconsistencies, that the limits of the Divine positive law and the natural law obligated them to exercise the powers of civil governance with a view towards promoting man’s temporal good in this life so as to foster in him his return to God in the next life. In other words, rulers such as Saint Louis IX, King of France, knew that they would be judged by Our Lord at the moment of his Particular Judgment on the basis of how well they had fostered those conditions in their countries that made it more possible for their subjects to get to Heaven.
9) The rulers of Christendom accepted the truth that the Church had the right, which she used principally through her Indirect Power over civil rulers by proclaiming the truths of the Holy Faith, to interpose herself in the event that a civil ruler proposed to do something or had indeed done something that violated grievously the administration of justice and thus posed a grave threat to the good of souls.
10) The Social Kingship of Jesus Christ may be defined as the right of the Catholic Church to see to it that the binding precepts of the Divine Positive Law and the Natural Law are the basis of the actions of civil governance in all that pertains to the good of souls and that those who exercise civil power keep in mind man’s last end, the salvation of his immortal soul as a member of the Catholic Church. Civil leaders must, therefore, recognize the Catholic Church as the true Church founded by God Himself and having the right to reprimand and place interdicts upon those who issue edicts and ordinances contrary to God’s laws.
This is but a brief distillation of the points contained in the brilliant social encyclical letters of Popes Leo XIII, St. Pius X, and Pius XI, in particular, although Popes Gregory XVI and Pius IX also contributed to their reiteration and explication. I have spent much time in the past twenty-five years or so illustrating these points with quotations from these encyclical letters, which contain immutably binding teachings that no Catholic may dissent from legitimately (as Pope Pius XI noted in Ubi Arcano Dei Consilio in 1922).
The Modern State, including the United States of America, is founded on a specific and categorical rejection of each of these points. Consider the following:
1) Martin Luther himself said that a prince may be a Christian but that his religion should not influence how he governs, giving rise to the contemporary notion of “separation of Church and state,” condemned repeatedly by Popes in the Nineteenth and early Twentieth Centuries.
2) Martin Luther planted the seeds of contemporary deconstructionism, which reduces all written documents to the illogical and frequently mutually contradictory private judgments of individual readers, by rejecting the Catholic Church as the repository and explicator of the Deposit of Faith, making the “private judgment” of individuals with regard to the Bible supreme. If mutually contradictory and inconsistent interpretations of the Bible can stand without correction from a supreme authority instituted by God, then it is an easy thing for all written documents, including a Constitution that makes no reference at all to the God-Man or His Holy Church, to become the plaything of whoever happens to have power over its interpretation
3) The sons of the so-called Enlightenment, influenced by the multifaceted and inter-related consequences of the errors of the Renaissance and the Protestant Revolt, brought forth secular nations that contended the source of governing authority was the people. Ultimately, all references to “God” were in accord with the Freemasonic notion of a “supreme intelligence” without any recognition of the absolute necessity of belief in and acceptance of the Incarnation and of the Deposit of Faith as it has been given to Holy Mother Church for personal happiness and hence al social order.
4) The Founding Fathers of the United States of America did not believe that it was necessary to refer all things in civil life to Christ the King as He had revealed Himself through His true Church, believing that men would be able to pursue “civic virtue” by the use of their own devices and thus maintain social order in the midst of cultural and religious pluralism. This leads, as Pope Leo XIII noted of religious indifferentism, to the triumph of the lowest common denominator, that is, atheism.
5) As the Constitution of the United States of America admits of no authority higher than its own words, it, like the words of Holy Writ are for a Protestant or to a Modernist, is utterly defenseless when the plain meanings of its words are distorted and used to advance ends that its framers would have never thought imaginable, no less approved in fact. The likes of Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro and Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton have no regard for the words of the Constitution or for the just laws passed by Congress, and Donald John Trump is plainly ignorant of some of the fact that there are seven articles in the Constitution and twenty-seven amendments to it since its ratification in 1788. We are governed by men who are contemptuous or law or wholly ignorant of it. Quite a state of affairs.
6) This is but the secular version of Antinomianism: the belief advanced by those who took the logic of Luther’s argument of being “saved by faith alone” to its inexorable conclusion that one could live a wanton life of sin and still be saved. Luther himself did not see where the logic of his rejection of Catholic doctrine would lead and fought against the Antinomians. In like manner, you see, the Constitutionalists and Federalists of today do not see that what is happening today in Federal courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States, is the inexorable result of a Constitution that rejects Christ the King and the Catholic Church. These Constitutionalists and Federalists will fight time and time again like Sisyphus pushing the bolder up a hill. They will always lose because they cannot admit that the thing they admire, the Constitution, is the proximate problem that has resulted in all of the evils they are trying to fight.
A nation founded on false premises, no matter the "good intentions" of those whose intellects were misinformed by several centuries of naturalist lies and Protestant theological heresies and errors, is bound to degenerate more and more over time into a land of materialism and hedonism and relativism and positivism and utilitarianism and naturalism and paganism and atheism and environmentalism and feminism and barbarism. Many evils, including the daily carnage against the preborn, both by surgical and chemical means, continue to be committed in this country. American "popular culture" destroys souls and bodies both here and abroad. Full vent is given each day to a panoply of false ideas that are from Hell and confuse even believing Catholics no end as they try to find some "naturalist" hero or idea by which to win the "culture wars," oblivious to the fact that it is only Catholicism that can do so.
Widespread vote fraud must, you see, become even more widespread and universal. After all, Americans who are not concerned about the daily slaughter of the preborn have shown themselves all too willing to overlook such "minor" things as undeclared wars, unconstitutional executive orders and directives, unjust judicial decisions, a ceasless surrender of legitimate national sovereignty, and illegal actions that put into jeopardy the nation's national security interests. Why should vote fraud matter at all to people willing overlook crimes against God and man from which they, whether or not they realize it, must suffer as the state of the nation worses over time?
It was in his first encyclical letter, Ubi Arcano Dei Consilio, December 23, 1922, that Pope Pius XI described the true nature of modern political parties:
To these evils we must add the contests between political parties, many of which struggles do not originate in a real difference of opinion concerning the public good or in a laudable and disinterested search for what would best promote the common welfare, but in the desire for power and for the protection of some private interest which inevitably result in injury to the citizens as a whole. From this course there often arise robberies of what belongs rightly to the people, and even conspiracies against and attacks on the supreme authority of the state, as well as on its representatives. These political struggles also beget threats of popular action and, at times, eventuate in open rebellion and other disorders which are all the more deplorable and harmful since they come from a public to whom it has been given, in our modern democratic states, to participate in very large measure in public life and in the affairs of the government. Now, these different forms of government are not of themselves contrary to the principles of the Catholic Faith, which can easily be reconciled with any reasonable and just system of government. Such governments, however, are the most exposed to the danger of being overthrown by one faction or another. (Pope Pius XI, Ubi Arcano Dei Consilio, December 23, 1922.)
We must remember that Catholicism is the one and only foundation of personal and social order, a point made by so many of our true popes in the past two hundred years, including Pope Pius XI in Ubi Arcano Dei Consilio:
Because the Church is by divine institution the sole depository and interpreter of the ideals and teachings of Christ, she alone possesses in any complete and true sense the power effectively to combat that materialistic philosophy which has already done and, still threatens, such tremendous harm to the home and to the state. The Church alone can introduce into society and maintain therein the prestige of a true, sound spiritualism, the spiritualism of Christianity which both from the point of view of truth and of its practical value is quite superior to any exclusively philosophical theory. The Church is the teacher and an example of world good-will, for she is able to inculcate and develop in mankind the "true spirit of brotherly love" (St. Augustine, De Moribus Ecclesiae Catholicae, i, 30) and by raising the public estimation of the value and dignity of the individual's soul help thereby to lift us even unto God.
Finally, the Church is able to set both public and private life on the road to righteousness by demanding that everything and all men become obedient to God "Who beholdeth the heart," to His commands, to His laws, to His sanctions. If the teachings of the Church could only penetrate in some such manner as We have described the inner recesses of the consciences of mankind, be they rulers or be they subjects, all eventually would be so apprised of their personal and civic duties and their mutual responsibilities that in a short time "Christ would be all, and in all." (Colossians iii, 11)
Since the Church is the safe and sure guide to conscience, for to her safe-keeping alone there has been confided the doctrines and the promise of the assistance of Christ, she is able not only to bring about at the present hour a peace that is truly the peace of Christ, but can, better than any other agency which We know of, contribute greatly to the securing of the same peace for the future, to the making impossible of war in the future. For the Church teaches (she alone has been given by God the mandate and the right to teach with authority) that not only our acts as individuals but also as groups and as nations must conform to the eternal law of God. In fact, it is much more important that the acts of a nation follow God's law, since on the nation rests a much greater responsibility for the consequences of its acts than on the individual.
When, therefore, governments and nations follow in all their activities, whether they be national or international, the dictates of conscience grounded in the teachings, precepts, and example of Jesus Christ, and which are binding on each and every individual, then only can we have faith in one another's word and trust in the peaceful solution of the difficulties and controversies which may grow out of differences in point of view or from clash of interests. An attempt in this direction has already and is now being made; its results, however, are almost negligible and, especially so, as far as they can be said to affect those major questions which divide seriously and serve to arouse nations one against the other. No merely human institution of today can be as successful in devising a set of international laws which will be in harmony with world conditions as the Middle Ages were in the possession of that true League of Nations, Christianity. It cannot be denied that in the Middle Ages this law was often violated; still it always existed as an ideal, according to which one might judge the acts of nations, and a beacon light calling those who had lost their way back to the safe road.
There exists an institution able to safeguard the sanctity of the law of nations. This institution is a part of every nation; at the same time it is above all nations. She enjoys, too, the highest authority, the fullness of the teaching power of the Apostles. Such an institution is the Church of Christ. She alone is adapted to do this great work, for she is not only divinely commissioned to lead mankind, but moreover, because of her very make-up and the constitution which she possesses, by reason of her age-old traditions and her great prestige, which has not been lessened but has been greatly increased since the close of the War, cannot but succeed in such a venture where others assuredly will fail. (Pope Pius XI, Ubi Arcano Dei Consilio, December 23, 1922.)
This site exists to promote Catholic truth in order to help its few remaining readers to rise above the agitation.
We must remember these words, inspired directly by the Third Person of the Most Blessed Trinity, God the Holy Ghost, contained in Saint Paul's Epistle to the Ephesians:
Put you on the armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the deceits of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood; but against principalities and power, against the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high place. Therefore take unto you the armour of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and to stand in all things perfect. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of justice, And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace:
In all things taking the shield of faith, wherewith you may be able to extinguish all the fiery darts of the most wicked one. And take unto you the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit (which is the word of God). By all prayer and supplication praying at all times in the spirit; and in the same watching with all instance and supplication for all the saints. (Ephesians 6: 11-18.)
Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary is a weapon and her Brown Scapular of Mount Carmel is our shield in this time when the forces of Antichrist in the worlds of Modernity and Modernism have rigged things against the Holy Faith and those who adhere to it despite their own sins.
The worst thing that can happen to us is the loss of our immortal souls for all eternity, not the transitory schemes of those whose ascent to power has been rigged by the devil himself to tempt us into the throes of despair.
