So, the Society of Saint Pius X is going to have new bishops as of July 1, 2021, the Feast of the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

The calendar may read 2021, but it is back to 1988 for the Society of Saint Pius X after thirty-eight years of occasional efforts (2001, 2009, 2012, 2016) to be “reconciled” with the counterfeit church of conciliarism.

There are many problems with this, of course, but as Pope Saint Pius X noted: “Whoever is holy does not dissent from the pope,” which means that the leaders of the Society of Saint Pius X are not holy or that Robert Francis Prevost/Leo XIV is not the pope.

Today is the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, always the humble handmaid of the Lord who humbled herself this day, the last day of Christmastide, which ends after Holy Mass today, by submitting to the rituals of the law although she was not in need of such a ritualistic purification because of her Perpetual Virginity. 

This is the day that Our Lady presented her Divine Son, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, in the same Temple where He would be found twelve years later answering questions of the rabbis, the same Temple whose curtain would be torn in two from top to bottom as He breathed His last on the wood of the Holy Cross to redeem us, thereby signifying the permanent end of the Old Covenant and the supersession of Judaism by Catholicism as the true religion. The aged Simeon, who waited patiently every day in the Temple for the fulfillment of the promise that God had made to him, that he would not die before his eyes had seen and his arms had beheld the Messiah, sent the first Sword of Sorrow plunging through Our Lady's Sorrowful and and Immaculate Heart when he prophesied that the Child he beheld would be destined for the rise and for the fall of man, a sign to be opposed, a Sign of Contradiction. We must never fear to be signs of contradiction in our own lives in imitation of the THE Sign of Contradiction, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, as He hung on the wood of the Holy Cross to redeem us as he was mocked and reviled by the very people from whose stock He had taken His Sacred Humanity.

We must be willing to suffer all manner of calumny and humiliation for the many times that we have preferred human respect to fidelity to Our Lord, for the many times we have refused to call upon Our Lady's maternal intercession, for the many times we have refused to "take sides," especially in our day by refusing to reject conciliarism and its ravenous wolves once and for all.

The next original commentary will probably appear sometime on Tuesday, the Feast of Saint Blase or, at the very latest, on Wednesday, the Feast of Saint Andrew Corsini.

Many millions of well-meaning Catholics are still fighting on a figurative island of Mindanao in the belief that they must correct a man they believe is a still a legitimate Successor of Saint Peter even though Saint Ambrose explained the following:

“The Catholic faith derives so much strength and support from the words of the Apostolic See, that it is criminal to entertain any doubts concerning it.”  (Father Francis X. Lots and lots of Catholics are unknowingly committing criminal acts by entertaining doubts about what is being taught by the agents of the counterfeit church of conciliarism and representing their false coming from the Apostolic See.

This commentary discusses a few of Robert Francis Prevost/Leo XIV’s most recent outrages, although he is merely beginning to be as redundant as Jorge Mario Bergoglio was during his first year as the president of the conciliar assembly and is continuing to appoint men to episcopal sees who are, like he himself, continuing the path of a “accompanying church” charted by the Argentine Apostate.

Today is Septuagesima Sunday. 

Lent begins in but seventeen days.

Easter is exactly nine weeks way.

It is time to start our preparations for Lent, time to start thinking about the penances we are going to undertake starting on Ash Wednesday in order to make reparation for our sins and those of the whole world as we prepare to enter deep into the mysteries of the Paschal Triduum of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Passion, Death, and Resurrection on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The purple vestments representing a penitential season of Holy Mother Church make their reappearance today to remind us that we must be deadly serious about the business of making the best Lent of our lives as we do not know whether this Lent will be our last one on the face of this earth--or whether we will even live to see the end of this particular Lent!

Let us use this time well as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, praying as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit.

Today, Saturday, January 31, 2026, this year is the day on which the anticipated Mass of the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost is celebrated because tomorrow is Seputagesima Sunday and there not only Sundays after Pentecost this year to pray each of the Masses after the Epiphany. As a consequence, the feast of of the great Saint John Bosco, to whom we are very devotedm celebrated, is downgraded to a commemoration.

This is a revised reflection on an extraordinary priest who had a zeal for the salvation of souls in his youth, a zeal that would last until he died on this date in 1888, one hundred thirty-eight years ago.

Saint John Bosco stands a rebuke to the conciliar revolutionaries, who refuse to seek converts to what they think is the Catholic Church and the manner in which they reaffirm unrepentant sinners in lives that could lead them to Hell for all eternity if they do not go to Confession and amend their lives. This brief reflection, written about fifteen years ago now, is an effort to capture the spirit of this magnificent teacher of the young, mystic and zealous apostle of souls.

I was nearing the completion of my next original commentary when it was clear that I would need another ninety minutes or so to finish the work, which is something that I just could do physically as another flu-like illness has decided to visit me once again as a very well deserved pre-Lenten penance, but I will get back to the work later today.

Today is the Feast of Saint John Chrysostom and it is on this feast day seventy-four years ago that I began my supernatural life as a Catholic when I was baptized at the hands of Father John Dushan at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Queens Village, New York, two months, three days after I was born. Yes, I was a pagan baby for that long. Please join me in praying for the soul of Father Dushan, who gave me the great gift of the Catholic Faith.

This commentary reviews the comments made by President Donald John Trump via a prerecorded video message and in person by Vice President James David Vance on Friday, January 23, 2026, the Feast of Feast of Saint Raymond of Pennafort and the Commemoration of Saint Emeriantiana (and in, some places, of the Espousal of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Saint Joseph), to the fifty-third annual March for Life.   

Given the tragic events of two days ago involving yet another shooting by agents of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ten shots fired at a man on the ground), two other planned commentaries must wait.
