Offending God Every Day

by Thomas A. Droleskey

So many well-meaning Catholics, some of whom are totally oblivious to what has gone on before them, lose all sense of true perspective in the midst of this or that news item that catches their attention. Some, for example, were aghast last week, when a group, whose identity shall be acknowledged on this site, "celebrated" blasphemy in the City of Washington, District of Columbia. While this "celebration" was indeed scandalous and an event that certainly warranted acts of reparation, most of the well-meaning Catholics who were justifiably scandalized by it are usually, although not always, deaf, dumb and blind when they are confronted with the blasphemies uttered by Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI as he praises one false religion after another in direct violation of the First and Second Commandments (see Religious "Liberty" and Blasphemy).

There is no need to belabor once again the points that I have made about Ratzinger/Benedict's repeated praise of false religions and his esteeming of their symbols, each of which is hideous in the sight of the Most Blessed Trinity, and his blasphemous, heretical assertions that the beliefs of false religions can "contribute" to the "building" of a "better" world. People either understand or accept the fact that Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI is a bold, public, serial blasphemer against the honor and majesty and glory of God or they do not.

What I would like to point out in this mercifully (for you and for me!) brief commentary is that the hour in which we live is very late. That is, it is well past time for people to be "shocked" by anything that happens within the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism. Undaunted, however, some people permit the devil to get themselves into a tizzy over this or that scandal associated with the heretics of a religion, concilairism, that is just as false as any of the thirty-three thousand sects of Protestantism or the myriad numbers of sects of Orthodoxy. Those who defect from the one and only true Faith, the Catholic Faith, on any point contained in the Deposit of Faith and/or who conduct or participate in sacrilegious "liturgies" conducted, at least for the most part, by bogus "bishops" and bogus "priests" in invalid sacramental rites will by their very immersion in these offenses to God look the other way at the promotion of sin--or of incentives to sin--and consider anyone who dares to question them about their cavalier attitude about sin and its promotion to be daft (see Having No Regard for the Horror of Personal Sin).

At this late date, therefore, there is really little that should "shock" us concerning the details of every scandal that takes place within the confines of the Novus Ordo establishment.  Why should we be surprised, for example, that a conciliar parish permits sinful material to be sold at some kind of street festival when those same parishes have schools and/or religious education programs that subject students to incentives to sin by means of explicit classroom instruction in matters pertaining to the Sixth and Ninth Commandments in full violation of the prohibition against such instruction laid down by Pope Pius XI in Divini Illius Magistri, December 31, 1929?

Wanderer reporter Paul Likoudis documented in the 1990s the details of a horrible assault upon the innocence and purity of children by means of an unspeakably evil program at the Notre Dame Preparatory School in Baltimore, Maryland, that had the full support of the then conciliar "ordinary," William "Cardinal" Keeler. No one should be in the least surprised that there are at least some, if not a sizable number, of conciliar pastors who are oblivious to the horrors of personal sin or who are themselves immersed in such sin without any repentance and without any desire to amend their lives. The story of the arrest of a conciliar 'bishop" in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada, a man who was most hostile to the Immemorial Mass of Tradition when he was based in Newfoundland, is simply par for the conciliar course. There is really nothing new under the conciliar sun.

Our good Catholic time is better spent than dwelling the details of these sordid matters. While it might be necessary on some occasions to publicize a particular incident as exemplifying the rather sanguine attitude that most conciliar officials have about the promotion of sin within within their own dioceses or by their very own words and actions--and while we should and must make acts of reparation for these offenses that do cause some Catholics yet attached to the conciliar structures to lose or to doubt the true Faith, we do not need to make it our "business" to find out every detail about such matters. Shouldn't it be enough for us to know that the Protestant and Novus Ordo service is in and of itself an offense to God for which we must make reparation every day of our lives.

The pernicious evil of the Novus Ordo service can never be overstated. The Novus Ordo, both as an expression of the Protestant and Masonic ethos and as a liturgical means of propagating this ethos, has led to a general loss of the Catholic Faith among most baptized Catholics who are as of yet attached to the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism. Conciliarism's relaxation of the Catholic Church's perennial practices of personal penance has resulted in not only in a loss of the sense of the horror of personal sin but a wholesale embrace of sin. Indeed, we were passing by a conciliar parish (Saint Laurence, I believe) in Sugar Land, Texas, on Sunday, October 4, 2009, and saw a man coming out of the Modernist-designed church building in shorts. Nothing is sacred in the context of the Novus Ordo service because the Novus Ordo service and all of the invalid sacramental rites associated with it (including the invalid rites of episcopal consecration and priestly ordination) are blasphemous assaults against the honor and glory and majesty of God in and of its very apostate nature.

It is largely, although not exclusively, because most Catholics attached to the structures of a false religion, the counterfeit church of conciliarism, have grown comfortable with the evils contained with the Novus Ordo that they have grown so sanguine about accepting the praise offered in behalf of false religions and their symbols and their places of false worship by one false "pope" after another. Although they can muster great and justifiable outrage when offenses against God are committed by unbelievers in the world, these Catholics are not outraged for the honor and glory and majesty of God when a conciliar "pope" is guilty of such outrages, preferring not to trouble themselves in the slightest with the fact that they have an absolute, positive obligation to defend His honor and glory and majesty,

Ah, here is the rub that causes so many Catholics to continue burying their heads in the sand: the very fact that there is a need to make reparation for the words and actions and beliefs of the conciliar "pope" is, just perhaps, an indication that the alleged "pope" is himself an apostate who has expelled himself from the Catholic Church, she who is as spotless as the Blessed Mother and who can never give us defective liturgies or false doctrines or pronouncements that contradict her perennial teaching.

The Council of Trent made it clear that the Catholic Church can never give us any liturgical rite that is defective or is an incentive to impiety:

CANON VII.--If any one saith, that the ceremonies, vestments, and outward signs, which the Catholic Church makes use of in the celebration of masses, are incentives to impiety, rather than offices of piety; let him be anathema. (Session Twenty-Two, Chapter IX, Canon VII, Council of Trent, September 17, 1562, CT022.)

Yet it is that the "pontiffs" of the counterfeit church of conciliarism have told us over and over again of the glories of the "liturgical reform" that has given us a proliferation of laity in the sanctuary and a loss of belief in the Holy Sacrifice of Mass as a propiatory offering for human sins and a loss of belief in Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Real Presence in the Most Blessed Sacrament and a loss of belief in the sacerdotal nature of the Holy Priesthood. No one, however, can bring forth any evidence to demonstrate that purported "Masses" with clowns and disco dancing (see "Mass" at Plobsheim, France), and gross immodesty and prayers that less fully communicate the truths of the Holy Faith or the sacrificial nature of the Mass itself have ever been part of the history of the Catholic Church. Indeed, many of the travesties, both approved and "unapproved," that have flowed forth from the Novus Ordo and offend God so much would have shocked the consciences of most of the heretics of the First Millennium. They are without precedent in the history of the Church.

The conciliar "popes" have done and said things that we know displease God and break His Most Blessed Mother's Immaculate Heart, defying one anathematized proposition after another just as the liturgy that they "offer" each day displeases God with its ethos of community-self congratulations and prayers that do not communicate fully the truths of the Catholic Faith. This is the sort of blasphemy that is part and parcel of the Novus Ordo ethos for which so few people care to recognize, no less for which to make reparation. Alas, those who do not defend publicly the honor and glory and honor of God are guilty of the same offenses. Who says so? None other than Pope Leo the Great, that's who:

But it is vain for them to adopt the name of catholic, as they do not oppose these blasphemies: they must believe them, if they can listen so patiently to such words. (Pope Saint Leo the Great, Epistle XIV, To Anastasius, Bishop of Thessalonica, St. Leo the Great | Letters 1-59 )

As I have noted in other commentaries:

Is the true God of Revelation pleased when a putative "pontiff" calls a mosque a "sacred" place or a "jewel" on the face of the earth?

Is the true God of Revelation pleased when a putative "pontiff" refuses to make the Sign of the Cross during prayer in "mixed company" or when he refuses to mention the Holy Name of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in front of adherents of the Talmud or of the Koran?

Is the true God of Revelation pleased with a putative "pontiff" who asserts that false religions can contribute to the "building" of the "better" world and that they have a "right" from Him to propagate their false beliefs publicly?

Is the true God of Revelation pleased with a putative "pontiff" who places into question the dogmatic pronouncements of the past by asserting that they were expressed in contingent terms based upon the historical circumstances in which they were proclaimed, thereby blaspheming the Third Person of the Most Blessed Trinity, God the Holy Ghost?

Is the true God of Revelation pleased when a putative "pontiff" treats the "ministers" of false religions as valid representatives of His as he engages in "ecumenical prayer" meetings that have been condemned consistently by the authority of the Catholic Church (see The Laws of God Forbidding All Communication in Religion With Those of a False Religion).

No one who truly, truly loves God can answer these questions in the affirmative. It's about the Faith, not about whether a "bishop" or a priest or a presbyter faces the table during a liturgy was written to destroy the sensus Catholicus and to replace it with a revolutionary ideology that has devastated the Faith of hundreds of millions of ordinary Catholics worldwide.

Pope Pius XI, writing in Mortalium Animos, January 6, 1928, explained that the Catholic Church brings her teaching to her children with ease and security, not with the ambiguity and uncertainty that have traditionalists and progressives and "moderates" in the counterfeit church of concilairism arguing about the "Second" Vatican Council's "true" meaning in "light" of a Tradition with which it can never honestly be reconciled.

For the teaching authority of the Church, which in the divine wisdom was constituted on earth in order that revealed doctrines might remain intact for ever, and that they might be brought with ease and security to the knowledge of men, and which is daily exercised through the Roman Pontiff and the Bishops who are in communion with him, has also the office of defining, when it sees fit, any truth with solemn rites and decrees, whenever this is necessary either to oppose the errors or the attacks of heretics, or more clearly and in greater detail to stamp the minds of the faithful with the articles of sacred doctrine which have been explained. (Pope Pius XI, Mortalium Animos, January 6, 1928.)

No one who defects knowingly from a single proposition in the Deposit of Faith can remain a member of the Catholic Church in good standing. A la carte Catholicism is wrong for those Catholics who support one moral evil (abortion, contraception, perversity, usury). A la carte Catholicism is wrong for putative "popes" and "bishops" who deny the nature of dogmatic truth and and reject the Church's official philosophy, Scholasticism, and support most brazenly movements (false ecumenism) and propositions (religious liberty, separation of Church and State, the new ecclesiology) that have been condemned by the teaching authority of the Catholic Church.

It is always useful to remind readers of the simple truth that no one can hold to a single proposition that has been condemned by the authority of the Catholic Church and remain within her maternal bosom:

The Church, founded on these principles and mindful of her office, has done nothing with greater zeal and endeavour than she has displayed in guarding the integrity of the faith. Hence she regarded as rebels and expelled from the ranks of her children all who held beliefs on any point of doctrine different from her own. The Arians, the Montanists, the Novatians, the Quartodecimans, the Eutychians, did not certainly reject all Catholic doctrine: they abandoned only a certain portion of it. Still who does not know that they were declared heretics and banished from the bosom of the Church? In like manner were condemned all authors of heretical tenets who followed them in subsequent ages. "There can be nothing more dangerous than those heretics who admit nearly the whole cycle of doctrine, and yet by one word, as with a drop of poison, infect the real and simple faith taught by our Lord and handed down by Apostolic tradition" (Auctor Tract. de Fide Orthodoxa contra Arianos).

The practice of the Church has always been the same, as is shown by the unanimous teaching of the Fathers, who were wont to hold as outside Catholic communion, and alien to the Church, whoever would recede in the least degree from any point of doctrine proposed by her authoritative Magisterium. Epiphanius, Augustine, Theodore :, drew up a long list of the heresies of their times. St. Augustine notes that other heresies may spring up, to a single one of which, should any one give his assent, he is by the very fact cut off from Catholic unity. "No one who merely disbelieves in all (these heresies) can for that reason regard himself as a Catholic or call himself one. For there may be or may arise some other heresies, which are not set out in this work of ours, and, if any one holds to one single one of these he is not a Catholic" (S. Augustinus, De Haeresibus, n. 88). (Pope Leo XIII, Satis Cognitum, June 29, 1896.)

No matter the offenses they give to God and no matter the empirical wreckage of souls that has been wrought by their wretched revolution, Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI and his conciliar "bishops" continue in the mode of Soviet dictator Leonid Brezhnev and the aging members of his Politburo in the late-1970s, praising a failed revolution for its mythical "successes." Just as Brezhnev and his Soviet stooges praised the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917, so do Ratzinger/Benedict and his "bishops" praise the "Second" Vatican Council and the "liturgical reform" and "false ecumenism" and their embrace of religious liberty and separation of Church and State despite the offense that has been given to God and His Deposit of Faith and despite the incalculable harm that has been done to the souls for whom Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ shed every single drop of His Most Precious Blood on the wood of the Holy Cross.

Ratzinger/Benedict's apparatchiks still continue to praise the United Masonic Nations Organization despite its sixty-four year record of promoting one evil after another (see the speech of the Vatican Observer at the United Nations, "Archbishop" Celestino Migliore, during the General Debate of the 64th Session of the United Nations' General Assembly New York, 29 September 2009, in which the "archbishop" spoke of the importance of "protecting the environment" rather than of the necessity of seeking the conversion of men and their nations to the true Church). It is as though the conciliar authorities are still locked in a time warp at the "Second" Vatican Council itself, filled with the giddy, self-confident Pelagian enthusiasm (the belief that the 'better" world was immediately ahead of us) that filled the air then and that helped to convince Catholics worldwide that they could relax their eternal vigilance against the ways of the world, the flesh, and the devil. Behold the results as ordinary Catholics are unable to recognize offenses to God that are so blatant as to aroused the saints of yore to rise up as one in defense of His greater honor and majesty and glory.

Father Frederick Faber, writing in The Precious Blood, explained the falsehood of the Pelagian spirit that is at the heart of Modernity in the world and Modernism in the counterfeit church of conciliarism:

The very air we breathe is Pelagian. Our heresies are only novel shapes of an old Pelagianism. The spirit of the world is eminently Pelagian. Hence it comes to pass that wrong theories among us are always constructed round a nuclear of Pelagianism; and Pelagianism is just the heresy which is least able to breathe in the atmosphere of St. Paul. It is the age of the natural as opposed to the supernatural, of the acquired as opposed to the infused, of the active as opposed to the passive. This is what I said in an earlier chapter, and here repeat. Now, this exclusive fondness for the natural is on the whole very captivating. It takes with the young, because it saves thought. It does not explain difficulties; but it lessens the number of difficulties to be explained. It takes with the idle; it dispenses from slowness and research. It takes with the unimaginative, because it withdraws just the very element in religion which teases them. It takes with the worldly, because it subtracts the enthusiasm from piety and the sacrifice from spirituality. It takes with the controversial, because it is a short road and a shallow ford. It forms a school of thought which, while it admits that we have an abundance of grace, intimates that we are not much better for it. It merges privileges in responsibilities, and makes the sovereignty of God odious by representing it as insidious. All this whole spirit, with all its ramifications, perishes in the sweet fires of devotion to the Precious Blood.

The time is also one of libertinage; and a time of libertinage is always, with a kind of practical logic, one of infidelity. Whatever brings out God's side in creation, and magnifies his incessant supernatural operation in it, is the controversy which infidelity can least withstand. Now, the devotion to the Precious Blood does this in a very remarkable way. It shows that the true significance in every thing is to be found in the scheme of redemption, apart from which it is useless to discuss the problems of creation. (Father Frederick Faber, The Precious Blood, written in 1860, republished by TAN Books and Publishers, pp. 258-259.)

We do need not look to extraordinary events in the counterfeit church of conciliarism or in the world to find a reason to offer a Rosary of reparation. No, the ordinary events in the life of that false church are quite enough reason for us to do so (see Spotlight On The Ordinary).

As I have tried to make clear in each of my articles, good readers, we must be earnest about the sanctification of our own daily lives. We must be brutally honest with ourselves about our own sins, conscious of the fact that our own sins have worsened the state of the Church Militant on earth and of the world-at-large.

Our Lady asked Jacinta and Francisco Marto and Lucia dos Santos to live penitentially as they prayed their Rosaries to console the good God and to make reparation for their sins and those of the whole world. Our Lady's Fatima Message to the children in the Cova da Iria in 1917 is her message to us in 2009. We must pray as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit, accept with joy and with gratitude each of the sufferings and calumnies and difficulties that come our way as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

The path to Heaven can be trod only by those who are willing to bear the Cross and to lift it high in their daily lives. We must remember this as we cling to true bishops and true priests in the Catholic catacombs who make no concessions to conciliarism whatsoever, consider it our privilege to hear the Immemorial Mass of Tradition offered at their hands, seeking only to live in such a way that we will be ready at all times to die in a state of Sanctifying Grace as a member of the Catholic Church, outside of which there is no salvation and without which there can be no true social order.

It's the Faith that matters, the entire Faith without any compromises, now and for all eternity. We have offended God enough in our without compounding our offenses by persisting in a belief that offenses given to God by the conciliar "popes" do not matter, that such offenses do not make the spread of evil in the world more possible, that such offenses are "minor" when the actual truth is, of course, that such offenses are egregious and are part of the reason we are under such a Chastisement at this time.

The time of Chastisement will pass, however Our Lady's Immaculate Heart will triumph. Every Rosary we pray helps to plant a few seeds for this Triumph.

What are we waiting for?

Viva Cristo Rey! Vivat Christus Rex!

Isn't it time to pray a Rosary now?

Immaculate Heart of Mary, triumph soon!

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.

Saint Joseph, pray for us.

Saints Peter and Paul, pray for us.

Saint John the Baptist, pray for us.

Saint John the Evangelist, pray for us.

Saint Michael the Archangel, pray for us.

Saint Gabriel the Archangel, pray for us.

Saint Raphael the Archangel, pray for us.

Saints Joachim and Anne, pray for us

Saint Bruno, pray for us.
