On the Solemnity of Saint Joseph (2019)

Today is the Solemnity of Saint Joseph in Paschaltide, a feast that originated under the title of “The Patronage of Saint Joseph” in 1847 by Pope Pius IX before being given its current name in 1911 and then repositioned two years later on the Wednesday following the Second Sunday after Easter by Pope Saint Pius X. This reflection is by way of an annual reminder, slightly revised, to trust in Saint Joseph, the Patron of the Universal Church and the Protector of the Faithful, in these times of persecution by the forces of Antichrist in the world and in the counterfeit church of conciliarism.

Refusing to See the Divine Impress In All Others, part one: Memorandum to Mister Rogers

A very late/early hour.

This commentary focuses on the idiocy of Alabama State Representative John Rogers, and it could easily have been entitled "Memorandum to Mister Rogers." As this is part one of two parts, I have chosen the current title as part two will deal with efforts on the part of deathcare industry to kill off anyone whose "quality of life" they deemed to be not worth the time, effort and cost to keep in good health, no less to keep alive.

Finally, will someone tell Bonehead Biden that Margaret Thatcher is dead. He couldn't possibly have spoken with him recently unless he is sitting in on one of Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton's seances with Eleanor Roosevelt Roosevelt.

Pope Saint Pius V: A Rigid Foe of Heresy and All False Religions

This is a slightly revised version of a reflection on the saintly life and work of  the great Dominican, Pope Saint Pius X, who is indeed quite a contrast to the life and the work of the conciliar revolutionaries.

Work continues on several articles after an interruption of several days this week necessitated by duties in support of my family and other matters that arose unexpectedly. An original article should appear tomorow. I am sorry for the absence of articles. However, I am also spending time putting together anthologies of my articles. There are not enough hours in the day, but I do what I can as I am able according to the graces sent to me by Our Lady.

Saint Catherine of Siena, T.O.P.: Chosen by Our Lord to Suffer for Him and His Holy Church

Today’s article is a slight revision and republication of a very brief and wholly inadequate reflection on the life of the great mystic, stigmatist and spiritual directress of souls, Saint Catherine of Siena, T.O.P., whose feast day is the day after that of the Protomartyr of the Order of Preachers, Saint Peter of Verona (Saint Peter Martyr).

Saint Catherine was calumniated during her life, and she was blamed for having precipitated the Great Western Schism by convincing Pope Gregory XI to return to return to Rome in 1378. She suffered all such calumny with joy.

What’s our excuse for grumbling and/or murmuring about our crosses and the state of chaos in which we live in this time of apostasy and betrayal?

Remember, everything thing that happens to us has been ordained by the hand of God Himself with exquisite perfection. Saint Catherine of Siena never lost an opportunity to suffer well. Indeed, she begged to suffer more and more for love of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. So should we.

Finally, although I am unsure whether this link will work, I am attempting to post a two minute video featuring the late Father Joseph Collins singing a parody about Karol Josef Wojtyla/John Paul II set to the tune of Petula Clark's "Downtown" recording: Father Collins Sings Parody about John Paul II.

The Conciliar Revolutionaries Enable All Enemies of the Catholic Faith

Herewith being published, albeit after a long delay caused by many unforeseen factors, including the recent aggravation of my existing spinal problems by an attempt to steady myself as I nearly fell on the surface of a flooded store at a supermarket that shall remain nameless (the ceiling was leaking during a storm and there were no warnings of a wet floor since no one knew about the problem until I reported it) and paternal duties to a champion goat-breeder and exhibitor, is my commentary on the Sri Lanka massacres, which also touches upon the fire at the Cathedral de Notre Dame de Paris peripherally.

As work is proceeding on several book projects, the next original article on this site will follow in a few days.

Thank you.

Opposing False Ecumenism With His Very Life

[Low Sunday Update: My commentary on the Sri Lanka massacres of a week ago is almost finished. Its completion has been delayed because of a serious aggrevation of my existing lower spinal problems after slipping backward at a store on Easter Wednesday evening when I encountered an unexpected puddle of water from a ceiling leak that no one in the store knew was there until I was hurt. Penance is in season no matter that it is Paschaltide. It has, though, been difficult to work in the interim.

[The principal purpose of this update is to inform the readers of this site of the death of a very zealous, holy and exemplary priest, Father Joseph Collins, who died at 11:54 a.m., Eastern Daylight Saving Time in the rectory of Saint Michael Church in Glenmont, New York. He has received the benefit of the Sacrament of Extreme Unction at the time his pancratic cancer had been diagnosed and had received Holy Viaticum every day from that time to Easter Saturday morning.

[As I noted a few weeks ago when news of Father Collins's illness reached me, Father Joseph Francis Collins was a prayerful priest who spent much time alone before the Most Sacrament in prayer. He was zealous for souls, and his superb memory permitted him to pick up conversations with people he had not seen in decades, something that a reader of this site from Richmond, Virginia, told me happened to him when Father Collins, who had not see the gentleman for over twenty-five years, recognized him after Mass, greeted him and then asked him about his family members. Father Collins truly cared about the sheep entrusted to his care. Apart his brilliant intellect, this good priest was also a gifted singer and had a delighful sense of humor. Although he will be missed here in this passing, mortal vale of tears, he is already at work answering the prayers of those who have prayed to him afer his death.

[Mindful that we presume the state of no soul after death until and unless Holy Mother Church declares him to be a saint, it is thus our duty to pray for the repose of the soul of Father Joseph Francis Collins. I prayed for him from the time we met him in 2003 until the day he died, and I will pray for his soul every day of my life until I die. Our Lady will direct the fruit of our prayers to some other worthy soul if Father Collins has no need of them. No prayer is ever wasted. None.

[Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.]

No, I have not yet completed my commentary on the Sri Lanka terrorist attacks, which were committed by beliving Mohammedans who adhere to the blasphemous Koran with unwavering fealty. Easter Wednesday will be spent completing that particular commentary.

In the meantime, I am offering a republished reflection on the life and martyrdom of Saint Fidelis of Sigmaringen, O.F.M., Cap.,whose feast is commemorated today, Easter Wednesday, April 24, 2019.

Saint Fidelis of Sigmaringen, O.F.M., Cap. opposed false ecumenism with his very life. Unlike the conciliar "popes" and their "episcopal" henchmen, Saint Fidelis came to "extirpate heresy, not to embrace it."

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

We Must Ever Profess to an Unbelieving World that Christ is Risen

This is a revised commentary and reflection from three years ago.

A brief commentary on the tragic events in Sri Lanka, which was the scene in 2015 of one of Jorge Mario Bergoglio's man sins against the First and Second Commandments will be posted by Easter Tuesday.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their soul and and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Revised: Behold the Empty Tomb in Jerusalem: Resurrexi, et Adhuc Tecum, Alleluia!

Alleluia! He is Risen! Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has made manifest His Easter Victory over sin and eternal death. “O death, where is Thy victory. O death, where is thy sting?”

We shall all indeed rise again: but we shall not all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall rise again incorruptible: and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption; and this mortal must put on immortality. And when this mortal hath put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?

Now the sting of death is sin: and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who hath given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast and unmoveable; always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Cor. 15: 51-58)

Our Lord made His Easter Victory over sin and eternal death manifest first to His Most Blessed Mother, who stood so valiantly at the foot of His Most Holy Cross as she cooperated completely in His Redemptive Act, bringing us forth as the spiritual sons and daughters of the living God in great pain by means of adoption. W need to rely on the help of Our Lady as the consecrated slaves of Her Divine Son through her own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart so that we may persevere in a state of Sanctifying Grace with perfect contrition for our sins until the moments of our deaths so that our bodies and souls will be resurrected on the Last Day at the General Judgment of the Living and the Dead and counted among those destined for the enjoyment of an unending Easter Sunday of glory in Paradise.

Nothing else matters if we save our souls by cooperating with the graces won for us by the shedding of every single drop of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood on the wood of the Holy Cross and that flow into our hearts and souls through the loving hands of Our Lady, she who is the Mediatrix of All Graces. Nothing else matters if we fail to soul our souls.

This glorious day of Easter rejoicing is meant to be but a foretaste of Heaven. Let us live as redeemed creatures as we reject the naturalism of Modernity and the Modernism of the soul-killing agents of the counterfeit church of conciliarism. This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad!

A blessed Easter Sunday to you all!

Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Holy Saturday: Anticipating the Glory of Our Lord's Easter Victory Over Sin and Eternal Death

Silence filled the earth in the forty hours between the death of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on the wood of the Holy Cross yesterday, Good Friday, and His glorious Resurrection at dawn on Easter Sunday. Silence filled the earth as the God-Man went down into Limbo to announce the news of His Redemptive Act to the souls of the just who had awaited His Coming and His Sacrifice in atonement for the sins of all men from the beginning until the end of time.

Christ the King is the Light of the World. It is His light that is symbolized by the Easter fire that is lit at the beginning of the Easter Vigil. The Light of Christ breaks through the darkness of sin and eternal death, leading us by the fire of His bright, burning love as we continue our desert journey of life to the Promised Land of the New and Eternal Canaan made possible by His immolation on the wood of the Holy Cross yesterday, Good Friday. We must follow the Light of Christ as He, the New Moses, leads us as the first Moses led the Hebrew people as he followed a column of cloud during the day and a column of fire during the night, as we reminded once again during the Prophecies that are read during the Easter Vigil.

The Light of Christ, Our Crucified and Resurrected Saviour, will penetrate the souls of those who are baptized today and of those who are confirmed. It will penetrate the souls of those of us who were unable to receive Him in Holy Communion yesterday at the Mass of the Presanctified. It will penetrate the souls of those who are regenerated once again in the Sacred Tribunal of Penance. The Light of Christ that is symbolized by the Paschal Candle is meant to permeate every aspect of our lives without any exception at any time for any reason.

The Light of Christ has indeed broken through the darkness of sin and eternal death. Our Lord is making manifest His Easter Victory over the power of sin and eternal death. A fifty day period of glorious celebration is about to break upon us. Although the Easter Vigil is a long ceremony, eternity is forever. We can certainly spend five hours basking in the glories of the Sacred Liturgy that are, after all, a foretaste of eternal glories, can we not? The rewards are truly Heavenly, rewards that we could not have unless the Co-Eternal and Co-Equal Son obeyed His Heavenly Father out of love for him and out of love for us so that we could have access to the treasures of His Most Sacred Heart here through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

A blessed Holy Saturday to you.
