Flying With Two Far Left Wings

National Broadcasting Company television journalist, John Chancellor, who was one the networks four floor reporters at the national nominating conventions of the two major organized crime families of naturalism in 1964 and 1968 along with Edwin Newman, Frank McGee, and Sander Vanocur before becoming one of the anchormen from 1970-1982 on the renamed NBC Nightly News following the departure of Chester Huntley from the eponymous Huntley-Brinkley Report on July 31, 1970, was generally derisive of “conservative” politicians. Although this is a paraphrase, Chancellor said the following after former California Governor Ronald Wilson Reagan had delivered his acceptance address at the Republican National Convention in Detroit, Michigan, on Thursday, July 17, 1980:

We are about to find out whether a plane with two right wings can fly.

The two “right wings” to which he referred were Reagan and his vice-presidential running-mate, former United States Representative/former United States Ambassador to the United Nations/former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency George Herbert Walker Bush even though Bush was hardly “conservative.” Chancellor even said that Bush was “every bit as conservative as Reagan” after Reagan activists had grumbled about Bush’s selection at Midnight on Wednesday, July 16, 1980, at the conclusion of the convention’s third night as Reagan sought to do damage control over the failure to reach an agreement with former President Gerald Rudolph Ford. Jr/Leslie Lynch King, Jr., to be his running-mate (for a review of how Bush the Elder got selected, please see Richard V. Allen’s recounting of the saga at: Ricard V. Allen on George Herbert Walker Bush as the Accidental Vice President).

John Chancellor’s question of forty-four years ago comes to mind now because the organized crime family of the false opposite of the naturalist “left” is going to find out whether a plane with two socialist, fascistic left wings can fly. It is my belief as a political scientist and as one who has followed elections since 1956 is that the new plane can fly well enough to win just enough popular votes in the States of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, and Georgia as well as the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to win not only the popular vote, which the pinko duo of Kamala “Let Rioters Who Burned Down a Police Precinct Get Out of Jail” Harris and Minnesota Governor Timothy James “Let Minneapolis Burn” Walz will win very handily thanks to their support on the East and West Coasts and in Cook County, Illinois, but an electoral college victory somewhat equivalent to that won by Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro in 2008 and 2012.

Kamala Harris is not concerned about “unifying” the country as Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., claimed was his goal four years ago before embarking on a veritable crusade against those who voted for then President Donald John Trump. By picking sanctuary state, pro-abortion, pro-sodomite, valor-stealing Timothy James Walz to be her running-mate, Kamala Harris is demonstrating that she knows that most of the counties in the country will be redder than red come election day on November 5, 2024, but that the only counties that matter to her are those the “blue wall” states that voted for Donald John Trump by very narrow margins on November 8, 2016. She is trying to energize her socialist-fascistic base, and though some naturalists on the “left” question the political wisdom of her selection of the radical Walz to be her vice-presidential running-mate, she is running on am explicitly “progressive” (Marxist-Leninist agenda) and is absolutely unapologetic about doing so. Harris is counting on the “folksy” socialist, Timothy James Walz, who believes that one person’s socialism is another person’s “neighborliness” even though there is nothing “neighborly” about the organized theft and forcible redistribution of wealth and the suppression of legitimate human liberties, to win over enough voters in the “blue wall states” to make it impossible for the team of Donald John Trump and James David Vance (James David Bowman) to win.

Here is a naturalist’s view of how Timothy James Walz has governed Minnesota since he took office on January 1, 2019:

Tim Walz has such a bad record as Minnesota’s governor that I was astonished when he landed on Vice President Kamala Harris’s vice-presidential shortlist. As Minnesota’s Center of the American Experiment has documented, under Mr. Walz Minnesota has become a high-crime state. Student achievement has tumbled as spending on schools has skyrocketed. Per capita gross domestic product has fallen below the national average. Minnesotans have joined residents of New York, California and Illinois in fleeing their home state.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro—also on Ms. Harris’s shortlist—made sense to me. Pennsylvania is a key state. Mr. Shapiro seems to be a man of substance and would give liberal Jews a reason to vote for Ms. Harris without a guilty conscience. As a Jewish supporter of Israel, I worried that Mr. Shapiro would give the animus throbbing in the heart of the Democratic Party cover. Indeed, that animus drove a nasty intraparty campaign against him.

But Tim Walz? I’m a conservative Republican. I don’t completely understand Democrats’ ways. As an observer of Minnesota politics, however, I understand how Mr. Walz became governor. Having served six terms in Congress from a rural district, he challenged the endorsed DFL (Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party) candidate—a liberal metro-area state senator, Erin Murphy—in the 2018 DFL primary. Ms. Murphy was also challenged by another metro-area liberal, Lori Swanson, then state attorney general. With Ms. Murphy and Ms. Swanson dividing the liberal urban vote, Mr. Walz and his far-left running mate, former state Rep. Peggy Flanagan, won the primary with 41%.

On taking office in 2019, Gov. Walz was restrained by a one-seat Republican majority in the state Senate—until Covid hit in the spring of 2020. He declared a state of emergency on March 25, 2020, and ruled by decree for 15 months. He proclaimed the emergency on the basis of an allegedly sophisticated Minnesota Model projection of the virus’s course in the state. In fact, the projection reflected a weekend’s work by graduate students at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. Relying on their research, Mr. Walz presented a scenario in which an estimated 74,000 Minnesotans would perish from the virus. The following week the Star Tribune reported that with the lockdown Mr. Walz ordered, 50,000 would die. Maybe it would have been preferable to address the virus through democratic means.

Having destroyed jobs and impeded life routines, including family get-togethers and church attendance, Mr. Walz finally let his one-man rule lapse on July 1, 2021. When the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center stopped counting in March 2023, the deaths of 14,870 Minnesotans were attributed to the virus. (In 2020 I successfully sued the administration for excluding me from Health Department press briefings on Covid.)

During the state of emergency, protests broke out in Minneapolis on Memorial Day 2020 following the death of George Floyd. That Thursday, rioters burned Minneapolis’s Third Precinct police station to the ground. Mr. Walz didn’t deploy the National Guard until the weekend. Riots, arson and looting throughout the Twin Cities caused about $500 million in damage.

Minnesota leads the nation in Covid fraud. Under the auspices of the Feeding Our Future nonprofit, its founder, Aimee Bock, allegedly recruited mostly young Somali men to seek reimbursement for millions of meals supposedly served to poor students and families. According to indictments handed up by a grand jury to U.S. Attorney Andrew Luger, Ms. Bock and others allegedly defrauded the state and federal government of $250 million. Ms. Bock has pleaded not guilty to the fraud charges.

Among the 70 defendants charged to date, 18 have pleaded guilty. In April the first of the cases to go to trial had seven defendants; five were convicted. The remaining cases have yet to be tried. In all, the Minnesota Department of Education oversaw the payout of $250 million to reimburse fictitious meals. The nature and scale of the fraud are staggering. Mr. Walz tried to blame state district court judge John Guthmann, who in April 2021 handled a case regarding the department’s processing of applications for reimbursements. According to Mr. Walz, Judge Guthmann ordered the state to continue payouts to the alleged perpetrators of the fraud even after the state Education Department discovered it.

In September 2022, Judge Guthmann authorized a news release titled “Correcting media reports and statements by Gov. Tim Walz concerning orders issued by the court.” The release concluded: “As the public court record and Judge Guthmann’s orders make plain, Judge Guthmann never issued an order requiring the MN Department of Education to resume food reimbursement payments to FOF. The Department of Education voluntarily resumed payments and informed the court that FOF resolved the ‘serious deficiencies’ that prompted it to suspend payments temporarily. All of the MN Department of Education food reimbursement payments to FOF were made voluntarily, without any court order.”

In November 2022 Mr. Walz was elected to a second term, and the DFL won majorities in both chambers of the Legislature. In the preceding two years the state had accumulated an $18 billion budget surplus. With the DFL in full control, Mr. Walz and the Legislature have spent the $18 billion surplus on infrastructure, education and other programs that will burden the state for years. They have also raised taxes.

Mr. Walz and his DFL colleagues have backed measures establishing Minnesota as a mecca for abortion and a “trans refuge.” The legislation prohibits enforcing out-of-state subpoenas, arrest warrants and extradition requests for people from other states who seek treatment that is legal in Minnesota. It also bars complying with court orders issued in other states to remove children from their parents’ custody for authorizing hormone treatment or surgery to alter sex characteristics.

Like so many Democrats who have kept up with the demands of the progressive agenda, Mr. Walz has “grown” in office. In his second term, he has been the most left-wing Minnesota governor since the socialist Floyd B. Olson (1931-36). I doubt that Mr. Walz could be elected to Congress in his old district, which is now represented by a Republican. The idea that he can appeal to voters who don’t already support Ms. Harris seems far-fetched. (A Minnesotan Sizes Up Tim Walz.)

Leaving aside the author’s support for the Zionist State of Israel, it is clear that Timothy James Walz is a totalitarian. He also looks the part as he bears a very strong resemblance to longtime Chairman of the Presidium of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Nikolai Podgorny, who was the nominal head of the Soviet state from 1963 until 1977 under Communist Party First Secretary Leonid Brezhnev (some who believe in the disproved ideology of evolutionism that Brezhnev was the ”missing link” between the highest form of apes and human beings) the head of the government, Prime Minister Alexi Kosygin.

Take a look at the resemblance between Walz and Podgorny at the end of this commentary.

All right, enough with entertaining myself.

As I will elaborate upon later in somewhat more detail, even though many secular commentators are scratching their heads about Kamala Harris’s selection of Timothy James Walz, the current vice president of the United States of America knows precisely what she is doing as she has absolutely no intention of uniting anyone. All she wants to do is to acquire the presidency and then to govern in a manner that will make her nominal superior at this time, Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., seem like a Joseph de Maistre conservative. Walz’s selection is designed to turn out those who want more government goodies regardless of the financial costs nor the costs of legitimate human freedoms. This election is all about wining Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and North Carolina.

While there is merit to the popular belief that Kamala Harris Emhof snubbed Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Governor Joshua Shapiro because he is Jewish, Walz provides her with a particular level of “ideological comfort” than Shapiro, who, along with Pennsylvania Secretary of State, did a superb job four years as the Attorney General of Pennsylvania to authorize and then successfully defend in court violations of the Pennsylvania State Constitution and state law concerning the proper manner to secure and count ballot. Shapiro is an ideologue but he is not a word salad machine as is Kamala Harris Emhof, and the current cackling vice president might feel threated by a Vice President Shapiro, although it is my belief that Shapiro’s “consolation prize” will be the post of the Attorney General of the United States of America if the ticket of Kamala Harris Emhof and Timothy James Walz defeats Donald John Trump and James David Vance on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

Kamala Harris Emhof has committed hard left ideologue, whose wife felt exhilarated by the rioting that laid parts of Minneapolis burning in the “George Floyd” riots four years ago:

The wife of Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris' running mate set social media ablaze Tuesday after an unearthed clip of her describing her actions during the 2020 Minneapolis riots went viral.

Gwen Walz is Minnesota's first lady and the wife of Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who was picked by Vice President Harris to be her running mate on the 2024 Democratic presidential ticket.

A pivotal part of Walz's gubernatorial record was his handling of the death of George Floyd in the state in 2020. Floyd's death sparked nationwide protests about race and police brutality.

"Again we had more sleepless nights during the riots," Walz's wife told KSTP in July 2020. "I could smell the burning tires, and that was a very real thing. And I kept the windows open as long as I could because I felt like that was such a touchstone of what was happening."

Conservative commentators expressed astonishment at Gwen Walz's remarks after the clip started going viral on social media.

"What might you call this? Bizarre? Abnormal? Peculiar? Eccentric? Offbeat? Quirky?" Noah Rothman, a senior writer at the National Review Online, said. "Gotta be a word that describes reveling in the catharsis represented by the torching of other people’s property."

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk described the comments as "weird."

"Profoundly disturbing," journalist Abigail Shrier said. "We're going to need to learn a lot more about the Walzes."

Dustin Grage, the president of a conservative Minnesota-based consulting firm, said the comments were "bizarre," adding, "Her [Walz's] daughter also coordinated with rioters to let them know that the National Guard would not be activated one night."

"Everything you need to know about leftist elites can be found in this short clip," Daily Wire host Matt Walsh said on X. "Tim Walz’s wife sat by the window enjoying the smell of poor neighborhoods burning during the Floyd riots. She did everything but pull out a fiddle."

Gov. Walz was criticized for his handling of the riots. Conservatives accused him of sitting on his hands as the state was engulfed by riots.

As a result of the delayed action, hundreds of businesses across Minneapolis and St. Paul were devastated by the destruction and had to ask their local government for help recovering on top of what they lost during pandemic-related closures.

First lady Walz said she was aware Minnesota was under national scrutiny at the time.

"With COVID-19, the entire state was watching what Tim did," Ms. Walz said. "But with Mr. Floyd’s death, it was the entire country and the whole world looking at and watching what we did here in Minnesota in response to that."

"Minnesota was ground zero for the BLM riots of 2020," Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis said. "Harris egged it on, and Walz sat by and let Minneapolis burn."

Ohio Sen. JD Vance, the Republican vice presidential candidate and running mate of former President Trump, poked at Walz's 2020 record on Tuesday, calling his addition to the Democratic ticket "an interesting tag team."

"If we remember the rioting in the summer of 2020, Tim Walz was the guy who let rioters burn down Minneapolis," he said of the riots that began in Minnesota in response to the death of Floyd while being arrested in Minneapolis. "And then Kamala Harris was the one who bailed the rioters out of jail." (Wife of Harris' VP pick sets social media ablaze with 'bizarre' admission about 2020 riots. Also see Tim Walz's lies about his service embody his leadership failures and Kamala Harris'.)

The political reality is sort of like this, you see: Only one Republican presidential candidate has won the national popular vote since the Republican ticket of George Herbert Walker Bush and James Danforth Quayle defeated Michael “M-1” Dukakis and Lloyd Bentsen on November 6, 1988, and that one Republican was George Walker Bush, who won the national popular vote total by 3,012,171 votes over United States Senator John Kerry on November 6, 2004, and that was principally because of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and Bush the Lesser’s subsequent unconstitutional and immoral invasion, destruction, occupation of Iraq that began on March 20, 2003.

Just look at the national vote totals in each election since 1988:

1992: William Jefferson Blythe Clinton won the popular vote by 5,805,256 votes.

1996: William Jefferson Blythe Clinton won the popular vote by 8,201,370 votes.

2000: Albert Arnold Gore, Jr., won the popular vote by 538,179 votes.

2004: George Walker Bush won the popular vote by 3,012,171 votes.

2008: Barack Hussein Obama/Barty Soetoro won the popular vote by 9,550,193 votes.

2012: Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro won the popular vote by 4,982,291 votes.

2016: Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton won the popular vote by 2,868,686 votes.

2020: Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., won the popular vote by 7,060,347 votes.

As I have noted so many times before on this website, we do not elect the President of the United States of America on the basis of the national popular vote total. We have a “federally democratic” system of electing the president, not a “nationally democratic” one. The President of the United States of America is elected on the basis of whichever slate of electors wins enough popular votes in the fifty states and the District of Columbia to total twenty hundred seventy electoral votes, making the popular vote total in the states determinative of which slate of electors committed to a particular presidential candidate will get elected and thus cast their electoral votes in their respective state capitals on the first Tuesday after the second Wednesday in December.

Nevertheless, however, the national popular vote total is a gauge of how the demographics of the United States of America have changed since Ronald Wilson Reagan defeated Walter Frederick Mondale by 16,878,120 votes on Tuesday, November 6, 1980. Many of those who voted forty years ago are dead and buried, and they have been replaced by voters who either were not old enough to vote in 1984 (that is, those born between 1967 and 1984) or those who were born thereafter. America’s public indoctrination camps (public schools) have done a very effective job of catechizing several generations of young people into accepting varying shades of statism, socialism, authoritarianism, feminism, environmentalism, hedonism, anti-Theism, and nihilism whose influence has been felt in state and national elections for the past several decades. While most of those who live in what the elitists call “flyover” country will vote for Donald John Trump and James David Vance on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, those votes will always be insufficient to compensate for the large leftist margins that are baked into the electoral fabric of California, Oregon, Washington, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, and northern Virginia. This is a demographic reality and it is irreversible by means merely human because of the stranglehold that ideologues have over public miseducation in those states and the various cultural forces that feed into and off of that miseducation, which is but one of the many consequences over the past five hundred years of Protestantism’s overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King and the subsequent rise and institutionalization of the welter of Judeo-Masonic naturalistic errors that continue to divide men and their nations needlessly.

Although Donald John Trump likes to believe he won a decisive mandate in 2016, the truth is that he did not. He won the “blue wall states” by the following margins:

Michigan: 11,612 votes.

Pennsylvania: 68,236 votes.

Wisconsin: 27,257 votes.

That is a grand total of 107,105 votes. That is the margin by which Donald John Trump was able to win the presidency by winning a majority of the electoral college vote.

Kamala Harris may be a word salad machine who is as glued to the teleprompter as Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., and Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro. However, those around her knew that that she could pick a folksy socialist who supports open borders, “diversity, equity, and inclusion," “climate change” fascism, and the entire range of the left’s agenda to control every aspect of public and social life and still win enough votes in those three states (as well as Georgia and possibly North Carolina) and motivate enough low-information votes who have been brain numbed by public miseducation, the media, social influencers, Zuckerbucks, and social media to go with the “vibes” and vote according to what is considered to be socially acceptable. As Pope Pius IX noted when speaking to a group of French visitors in 1872, the universal franchise is madness. Moreover, this madness is made more and more possible because more and more people have become addicted to government handouts of one sort of another, becoming veritable wards of the civil state.

In this regard, therefore, it must be remembered that most people do not follow politics and current events closely and are thus easily misled and swayed by emotionalism and sentimentality. Ignorance and stupidity reign supreme in American life, and Kamala Harris and Timothy James Walz are counting on the support of the ignorant and stupid to just enough votes in the “blue wall” states to the electoral college vote and then to rule in a totalitarian manner that would make Leonid Brezhnev and Nikolai Podgorny blush with shame, and don’t be surprised if many Americans, especially younger Americans, adapt rather easily to totalitarianism in the same manner than the average citizen of the so-called “People’s Republic of China” lives very comfortably under Communist rule as they have known nothing else. Younger Americans have been conditioned for this moment: a Red Chinese-style society based upon citizen obeisance as condition to access credit, own property, and to move about freely.

This is not an overstatement as a recent survey indicates that fifty-three percent of those polled believe that the First Amendment to Constitution of the United States of America “goes too far” in permitting “free speech:”

(The Center Square) – Free speech suppression on college campuses and social media censorship often spur debates over how far the First Amendment should go to protect Americans’ rights to express their opinions – and who should be entrusted with those decisions.

About 53% of Americans believe the First Amendment goes too far in the rights it protects, according to a new poll by the nonprofit Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, or FIRE.

The poll, conducted July 5-10, is the latest installment in the National Speech Index, a quarterly survey designed by FIRE and the Polarization Research Lab at Dartmouth College to gauge public opinion on freedom of speech.

The 10-question survey consists of five permanent questions to track support for free speech and the First Amendment over time and five rotating questions to capture public opinion about topical and newsworthy speech-related issues.

“Evidently, one out of every two Americans wishes they had fewer civil liberties,” said FIRE’s Chief Research Advisor Sean Stevens. “Many of them reject the right to assemble, to have a free press, and to petition the government. This is a dictator’s fantasy.”

Additionally, the report states that 69% of those surveyed believe the country is on the wrong track regarding free speech. Only 5% believe their rights are “completely” secure, and 12% “not at all” secure.

Approximately 65% of respondents have some level of trust in the government to fairly decide on what speech is considered threatening or indecent. However, only 32% said they were “not at all” comfortable with the government limiting the free speech of pro-Hamas protesters.

“Not only do many Americans want to take a machete to the First Amendment, but it’s unclear whether they understand its bounds,” said FIRE’s press release. It also states that a plurality of respondents said this spring’s campus pro-Palestinian protests should have been allowed to continue on free speech grounds.

The organization noted that while many protests were “lawful,” some included “tent encampments, vandalism, and the occupation of buildings” – which are not justifiably protectable “in the name of free speech.”

“Americans have little tolerance for certain forms of protected speech and a lot of tolerance for unprotected conduct, when it should be the other way around,” Stevens said. “This poll reveals that the state of free speech in America is dire.”

Pointing to previous surveys, Stevens told The Center Square that many Americans have little to no trust in the government to regulate free speech, but at the same time, other data suggest many are ready to censor views they don’t like. They want someone to do it, but don’t trust the government or social media companies to do it fairly, he said.

Stevens highlighted one encouraging result: there seems to be rare bipartisan agreement between Democrats and Republicans — 61% and 52%, respectively — that they are not comfortable with the government regulating the speech of pro-Hamas protesters.

“I know what's being said probably offends a lot of people,” he said. “But that's a strong free speech stance there.”

However, half of Democrats and only one-fifth of Republicans think America is on the right track when it comes to free speech in general.

Other survey work focused on the encampment protests and how campus administrations addressed them. Stevens said the results show increased concern over the state of free speech among liberals, progressives and people on the left compared to six months ago.

“There is more awareness now that their ox is being gored and they see how the calls for censorship can be wielded against them just as easily,” he said.

Other findings show the percentage of respondents who are “very” or “somewhat worried about being fired over complaints about their speech fell from 28% in April to 20% in July. They note that the survey was conducted prior to the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump.

The number of people who self-censor “fairly” or “very” often also decreased to 23% from 27%.  (Poll: Majority says First Amendment 'goes too far'.)

This is indeed a freeway to tyranny. I have been saying this for decades without too many people seeming to pay attention, but I will say it again: what we are witnessing at this time is only the manifestation of the perfection of the inherent degeneracy of the American founding principles, which had to lead to tyranny over time as the only possible check—and it is a far from infallible one given the vagaries of fallen human nature—on tyranny is a due subordination by men and their nations to the Holy Mother Church in all that pertains to the good of souls. Then again, who pays any attention to me?

Mind you, the First Amendment does go too far as it institutionalizes religious indifferentism, which has been the means by which the adversary himself is worshiped publicly in the name of “free speech” and “free exercise of religion.”

The First Amendment also permits unfettered blasphemy, pornography, indecency, and immodesty.

Our true popes have taught that us the dangers of unfettered free speech:

This shameful font of indifferentism gives rise to that absurd and erroneous proposition which claims that liberty of conscience must be maintained for everyone. It spreads ruin in sacred and civil affairs, though some repeat over and over again with the greatest impudence that some advantage accrues to religion from it. "But the death of the soul is worse than freedom of error," as Augustine was wont to say. When all restraints are removed by which men are kept on the narrow path of truth, their nature, which is already inclined to evil, propels them to ruin. Then truly "the bottomless pit" is open from which John saw smoke ascending which obscured the sun, and out of which locusts flew forth to devastate the earth. Thence comes transformation of minds, corruption of youths, contempt of sacred things and holy laws -- in other words, a pestilence more deadly to the state than any other. Experience shows, even from earliest times, that cities renowned for wealth, dominion, and glory perished as a result of this single evil, namely immoderate freedom of opinion, license of free speech, and desire for novelty. (Pope Gregory XVI, Mirari Vos, August 15, 1832.)

For you well know, venerable brethren, that at this time men are found not a few who, applying to civil society the impious and absurd principle of "naturalism," as they call it, dare to teach that "the best constitution of public society and (also) civil progress altogether require that human society be conducted and governed without regard being had to religion any more than if it did not exist; or, at least, without any distinction being made between the true religion and false ones." And, against the doctrine of Scripture, of the Church, and of the Holy Fathers, they do not hesitate to assert that "that is the best condition of civil society, in which no duty is recognized, as attached to the civil power, of restraining by enacted penalties, offenders against the Catholic religion, except so far as public peace may require." From which totally false idea of social government they do not fear to foster that erroneous opinion, most fatal in its effects on the Catholic Church and the salvation of souls, called by Our Predecessor, Gregory XVI, an "insanity," viz., that "liberty of conscience and worship is each man's personal right, which ought to be legally proclaimed and asserted in every rightly constituted society; and that a right resides in the citizens to an absolute liberty, which should be restrained by no authority whether ecclesiastical or civil, whereby they may be able openly and publicly to manifest and declare any of their ideas whatever, either by word of mouth, by the press, or in any other way." But, while they rashly affirm this, they do not think and consider that they are preaching "liberty of perdition;" and that "if human arguments are always allowed free room for discussion, there will never be wanting men who will dare to resist truth, and to trust in the flowing speech of human wisdom; whereas we know, from the very teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ, how carefully Christian faith and wisdom should avoid this most injurious babbling."

And, since where religion has been removed from civil society, and the doctrine and authority of divine revelation repudiated, the genuine notion itself of justice and human right is darkened and lost, and the place of true justice and legitimate right is supplied by material force, thence it appears why it is that some, utterly neglecting and disregarding the surest principles of sound reason, dare to proclaim that "the people's will, manifested by what is called public opinion or in some other way, constitutes a supreme law, free from all divine and human control; and that in the political order accomplished facts, from the very circumstance that they are accomplished, have the force of right." But who, does not see and clearly perceive that human society, when set loose from the bonds of religion and true justice, can have, in truth, no other end than the purpose of obtaining and amassing wealth, and that (society under such circumstances) follows no other law in its actions, except the unchastened desire of ministering to its own pleasure and interests? (Pope Pius IX, Quanta Cura, December 8, 1864.)

We have fallen into the abyss when men do little else that the follow “no other law in its actions, except the unchastened desire of ministering to its own pleasure and interests.

Kamala Harris and Timothy James Walz, however, would love to restrict the right of believing Catholics to oppose the prevailing evils that they support without compromise. To be sure, they believe in evil things without compromise, but they are willing to stand or fall (although with the use of illicit means to “stand”—noncitizens voting, mail-in ballots with signatures and/or without signature verification, opposition to voter identification laws and policies, ballot “drop boxes,” ballot harvesting, etc.) on those evil ideas, policies and proposals. As noted above, it is my belief that there are just enough people in the “blue wall” states who will be impressed with this firmness in the always furtive hope that a better tomorrow materially will be theirs by “trusting the government” as the world around them deteriorates more and more because of their own blithe acceptance of sin, its institutionalization under the cover of the civil law, and its celebration in every aspect of public life.

On the other side, though, Donald John Trump and James David Vance (who is very articulate and knowledgeable on policy matters but could be using his God-given gifts to oppose the abortion pill rather than acquiescing to a Supreme Court decision that let human pesticide stand in place on the sophistic grounds that the plaintiffs lacked judicial standing—see The Supreme Masters of Sophistry Strike Again!), have already run away from the issue of restoring legal protection to the preborn and have gone so far as to denounce a legitimate series of proposals made by various scholars at the Heritage Foundation to limit the size and scope of the Federal government:

For many social conservatives, it feels like former President Donald Trump has not only thrown them and the issues they’ve dedicated their lives fighting for under the bus, he has now backed up the bus and rolled over them a few times for good measure.

The left has long wanted to splinter the Republican coalition and Donald Trump apparently has been more than happy to oblige them in a stunning display of betrayal against social conservatives.

On Tuesday, the Trump campaign dealt a final death blow to its relationship with the Heritage Foundation and Project 2025, savagely attacking those who are the former president’s best friends in Washington, D.C. And in so doing, he has also taken aim at the more than 110 conservative organizations that helped formulate Project 2025.

“Reports of Project 2025’s demise would be greatly welcomed and should serve as notice to anyone or any group trying to misrepresent their influence with President Trump and his campaign – it will not end well for you,” Trump’s campaign directors declared in a searing social media post.

There is no discernible difference between Trump’s recent messaging calling the interests of social conservatives “absolutely ridiculous and abysmal” and 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton calling conservatives a “basket of deplorables.”

The Trump campaign’s message was a direct assault on not just a single organization or coalition of organizations in Washington, D.C. He has attacked social conservatives across the land, the very people who helped sweep him into office in 2016 and his most ardent, grateful supporters in 2020.

Trump is as condescending toward social conservatives as was Clinton, and he’s no doubt doing all this in the name of picking up pro-abortion and homosexual pro-same-sex marriage voters. Social conservatives are just collateral damage in his quest to regain the White House.

The Trump campaign is counting on social conservatives to vote for him over Kamala Harris as the lesser of two evils despite his betrayals.

The reality is that no organization in D.C. has done more to support President Trump during his tenure in the White House, and no one has done more to help him prepare to hit the ground running beginning day one should he win back the presidency in November. The Foundation has done yeoman’s work over the years helping Republican administrations shape their policies and personnel since the Reagan presidency.

“Trumpworld bows down to left-wing media lies, and keeps signaling he doesn’t want his most loyal foot soldiers – who kept with him even when very few others did – or their conservative ideas in his next administration,” wrote Mollie Hemingway, responding to the campaign’s gratuitous sniping against social conservatives.

The Trump campaign has basically become an Obama-like personality cult.

Trump’s “cult of personality has grown so strong he no longer feels the need to negotiate with other factions,” Richard Hanania noted recently. “If they cause him inconvenience, he just crushes them.”

“The only true MAGA operation in Washington, D.C., got demonized and neutered,” Raheem Kassam said in a commentary explaining that Project 2025 never tried to pass itself off as a Trump operation.

Kassam noted how short-sighted the Trump campaign is, relying solely on the candidate’s charisma while ignoring the need to have a solid ground game in every state.

Ask anyone at a local level and they’ll tell you there’s almost no real campaign on the ground, virtually anywhere, all across America.

Not only is there no ground operation, but there’s also no plan to staff up an admin on day one with Trump stalwarts.

It is, in short, an unmitigated and self-inflicted disaster.

“Why does Team Trump have about 20 people on staff – with 4 months to go? That’s about 200 short of the typical number,” conservative commentator Emerald Robinson asked.

Bottom of Form

“Where’s the transition team? Where’s the (national security) team? Where’s the domestic policy team?” she continued in alarming fashion.

“That’s not ‘lean and mean,’” she declared. “That’s zero forward planning.”

Why does Team Trump have about 20 people on staff – with 4 months to go? That’s about 200 short of the typical number.

Where’s the transition team?

Where’s the natsec team?

Where’s the domestic policy team?

That’s not “lean and mean.”

That’s zero forward planning.

A ‘coup against Trump’?

Another commentator places the blame for the infelicitous condemnations of social conservatives by Trump not on Trump himself but on those managing his campaign, suggesting that we’re witnessing a “coup against Trump.”

Mike Cernovich has suggested that there is a bit of palace intrigue going on, with Trump’s current campaign managers – Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles – making it impossible for MAGA stalwarts joining a future Trump administration.

Cernovich spelled it out loud and clear in a series of posts on X:

“Project 2025 was former Trump staffers who wanted to avoid the 2017 personnel problems,” Cernovich explained. “Trump’s campaign is managed by a lifelong Bush loyalist who wanted AG Paxton in prison, and blamed Trump for J6. Jobs are being promised to Never Trump’ers. Had to push aside 2025.”

Project 2025 was former Trump staffers who wanted to avoid the 2017 personnel problems.

Trump’s campaign is managed by a lifelong Bush loyalist who wanted AG Paxton in prison, and blamed Trump for J6.

Jobs are being promised to Never Trump’ers. Had to push aside 2025

—Trump’s campaign manager wants AG Ken Paxton jailed, wanted Trump indicted for J6, and is now purging all of the loyal former Trump staffers from 2016 and 2020. — Cernovich (@Cernovich) July 30, 2024

“If you don’t understand this is a coup against Trump, I can’t help you,” Cernovich said.

Not a great idea to have someone who doesn’t understand the vision running your campaign especially when he said he wanted you in prison over January 6th.

Meanwhile Project 2025 people were around in 2016.

If you don’t understand this is a coup against Trump, I can’t help you.  (Trump's repeated disavowals of Project 2025 are a betrayal of his most loyal supporters.)

Although Project 2025 consisted of sound policy proposals designed to prevent the chaos within Donald John Trump’s term that a candidate such as Ronald Wilson Reagan forty-four years ago would have had the ability to articulately explain and defend, former President Trump is not tied to any specific policy proposals and is ever ready to back away from those things, especially about the inviolability of innocent human life, that he believes would cost him votes. Kamala Harris and Timothy James Walz, however, are, as they say today, “doubling down” on all the evil that they support, and they have a strong organization to turn out the vote, something that the former president does not appear interested in developing, thereby repeating the same mistakes that cost him re-election on Tuesday, November 3, 2021.

As I have noted so many times before, however, this farce is all the result of the Protestant Revolution’s overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King and the rise of the anti-Incarnational civil state of Modernity, including the United States of America, which is the prototype of the secular state without a common form of public pietas as the public worship of the true God is the just civil state.

Thus, I consider apropos to summarize a few points to direct the attention of those who read these articles to supernatural truths and away from the madness of people, whether of the false opposite of the naturalist “left” or “right,” who care nothing for the Social Reign of Christ the King, His Holy Catholic Church, nor about governing in a manner to advance the common temporal good in light of man’s Last End.

1. The Protestant Revolt is the proximate source of the social evils we face in the world today:

Protestantism is evil. It is from the devil. It is not--and never can be--a source of personal salvation or social order.

2. The Protestant Revolt removed the check provided by the Catholic Church against abuses of civil power:

The civil state has grown exponentially over the course of time as Protestantism rejects the existence of a visible, Divinely-instituted, hierarchical body, Holy Mother Church, has having any right from God to intervene, albeit as an absolute last resort after her indirect power of teaching and preaching and exhortation, with those exercising civil power when the good of souls demands her motherly intervention. There is thus nothing beyond the arbitrary whims of men (whether expressed by a dictatorship or by the "will of the people") to determine the limits, if any, of the exercise of civil power.

3. Judeo-Masonry has institutionalized the overthrow of the Social Reign of Reign of Christ the King and instituted the Reign of Man:

Social discourse and public policy in the modern civil state have been corrupted by Protestantism and by Judeo-Masonry. Most men, including most Catholics, believe that it is not necessary to subordinate everything in personal and social life to the Deposit Faith that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has entrusted exclusively to His Catholic Church for Its infallible explication and eternal safekeeping. It is thus possible, we are told, to conduct personal and social affairs naturalistically without referencing that Deposit of Faith and without having belief in, access to and cooperation with the Sanctifying Offices of the Catholic Church to root out sin from one's life and to grow in sanctity.

4. Protestantism and Judeo-Masonry convince Catholics, therefore, that there is something short of Catholicism that can serve as the foundation of social order:

As Catholics breathe the air of Protestantism and Judeo-Masonry, which is the air of semi-Pelagianism (the belief that we more or less stir up "graces" within ourselves and that we are more or less "self-redemptive), they become influenced over the course of time into believing that Catholicism simply is not the "only" means by which to know personal and social order. They become duped by naturalism, reducing everything to but the natural level without seeking to pursue the common temporal good in light of their Last End, which can be accomplished only by adhering to the totality of the Catholic Faith without one iota of dissent.

Father Frederick Faber explained how easy it is to believe in the modern spirit of secular self-redemption:

All devotions have their characteristics; all of them have their own theological meanings. We must say something, therefore, upon the characteristics of the devotion to the Precious Blood. In reality the whole Treatise has more or less illustrated this matter. But something still remains to be said, and something will bear to be repeated. We will take the last first. Devotion to the Precious Blood is the devotional expression of the prominent and characteristic teaching of St. Paul. St. Paul is the apostle of redeeming grace. A devout study of his epistles would be our deliverance from most of the errors of the day. He is truly the apostle of all ages. To each age doubtless he seems to have a special mission. Certainly his mission to our is very special. The very air we breathe is Pelagian. Our heresies are only novel shapes of an old Pelagianism. The spirit of the world is eminently Pelagian. Hence it comes to pass that wrong theories among us are always constructed round a nuclear of Pelagianism; and Pelagianism is just the heresy which is least able to breathe in the atmosphere of St. Paul. It is the age of the natural as opposed to the supernatural, of the acquired as opposed to the infused, of the active as opposed to the passive. This is what I said in an earlier chapter, and here repeat. Now, this exclusive fondness for the natural is on the whole very captivating. It takes with the young, because it saves thought. It does not explain difficulties; but it lessens the number of difficulties to be explained. It takes with the idle; it dispenses from slowness and research. It takes with the unimaginative, because it withdraws just the very element in religion which teases them. It takes with the worldly, because it subtracts the enthusiasm from piety and the sacrifice from spirituality. It takes with the controversial, because it is a short road and a shallow ford. It forms a school of thought which, while it admits that we have an abundance of grace, intimates that we are not much better for it. It merges privileges in responsibilities, and makes the sovereignty of God odious by representing it as insidious. All this whole spirit, with all its ramifications, perishes in the sweet fires of devotion to the Precious Blood.

The time is also one of libertinage; and a time of libertinage is always, with a kind of practical logic, one of infidelity. Whatever brings out God's side in creation, and magnifies his incessant supernatural operation in it, is the controversy which infidelity can least withstand. Now, the devotion to the Precious Blood does this in a very remarkable way. It shows that the true significance in every thing is to be found in the scheme of redemption, apart from which it is useless to discuss the problems of creation. (Father Frederick Faber, The Precious Blood, written in 1860, republished by TAN Books and Publishers, pp. 258-259.)

The influence of Protestantism and Judeo-Masonry upon Catholics in a pluralistic society is most malignant, eating away most slowly at their sensus Catholicus to such an extent that those who insist upon Catholicism as the one and only foundation of personal and social order are seen as the problem as pluralism, religious indifferentism, and various cultural trends (including those "fashions" that lead women into dressing more and more immodestly and to don masculine attire almost unthinkingly) that emanate from Protestants and Jews and Freemasons and other enemies of the Faith are accepted most sheepishly. Indeed, those who reject such influences are condemned as "unrealistic" or "idealistic."

5. Our Protestant and Judeo-Masonic system of civil governance and popular culture leads to the acceptance of an ever increasingly higher and higher dose of the so-called "lesser" evil:

The passive, uncritical acceptance of one evil after another as "normal" in a pluralistic society under the control of the influences of Protestantism and Judeo-Masonry accustoms Catholics to accept more and more evils with equanimity, oblivious to the fact that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ suffered His Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane as He saw how sin, the very antithesis of His Sacred Divinity, was to be promoted with such ease in the world and with such ready acceptance by so many of His own Catholic people. Distracted by the apparent "greater evil," many Catholics minimize, sometimes to the point of being absolutely silent about, the grave evils supported by the naturalists of the false opposite of the "right."

This is, of course, the syndrome of boiling the frog alive very slowly in a pot as lukewarm water is heated gradually to the boiling point as his amphibious body adjusts to the changes in each elevate of the water's temperature. Catholics have been boiled alive by Protestantism, which is evil and thus of the devil, and Judeo-Masonry without even knowing it.

No one who supports a single, solitary abortion, whether chemical or surgical, is pro-life.

No one who supports the systematic destruction of the innocence of the young by means of explicit classroom instruction in matters pertaining to the Sixth and Ninth Commandments is pro-family.

No one who supports the intentional bombing of innocent civilians in a foreign country during an unjust, unprovoked invasion and occupation of that country is an agent of "peace."

No one who believes the diabolical lie of American "exceptionalism" is a friend of Christ the King, Whose true Faith is the foundation of social order, not American "exceptionalism."

6. Protestantism leads to a reliance upon the "written word" as the foundation of all human thought and action:

The diabolical lie of Protestantism is founded upon a rejection of the visible, hierarchical Church that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ founded upon the Rock of Peter, the Pope, and upon the rejection of Sacred Tradition as a source of Divine Revelation. Protestants rely only on the "written word," that is Sacred Scripture, as the one and only source of Divine Revelation. Nothing that's not "written down" can be justified as having been revealed definitively by God.

Alas, these twin fundamental cornerstones of Protestant belief carry with them the seeds of Protestantism's self-destruction as it mutates endlessly into thousands of different sects and renders the Bible in a relativistic mush of contradictions. Rejecting Sacred Tradition and the teaching authority of the Catholic Church, Protestants rely upon "individual interpretation" of the Bible, which can result in only one thing: the continuous, uninterrupted deconstruction of the Bible by succeeding generations of Protestants. If there is no ultimate authority to guide men as to the meaning of the words in Sacred Scripture, you see, then there is no recourse when a "believer" puts a novel interpretation on a particular message. The "believer" can always say, "Who are you to tell me this passage means what you say it means. I am my own interpreter of the Bible, am I not?" This is the path to unbelief in Protestantism that played a very important part in paving the way also for the rise of Modernism in the Catholic Church.

A written constitution that admits of no higher authority than the text of its own words is as defenseless in the hands of "liberal, activist" judges as the Bible is in the hands of Protestants. Why should "liberal, activist" judges respect the words of the United States Constitution and/or the "intentions" of its framers when Protestants do not admit that there is an ultimate judge appointed by God, the Catholic Church, to teach us about the meaning of the words in Sacred Scripture. If one can interpret God's Holy Writ in novel ways with no one to intervene to put an end to such madness, then it is a relatively easy thing to deconstruct the plain meaning of the words of a written constitution, is it not? There is no way to stop the words of that "written constitution" from being used rather liberally to serve whatever naturalist purposes a contemporary "interpreter" desires them to serve.

Similarly, many Catholics, influenced by this aspect of Protestantism, want to take refuge in the "written word," looking for "proof" that a certain matter has been permitted or forbidden by the Church. Many were the times in my "conservative" Novus Ordo days when a concerned parishioner would ask me where they could "find" a written prohibition against a particular novelty, such as people, especially children, being invited to gather around the table at the "consecration" in the Protestant and Novus Ordo service.

Well, there is no written prohibition against this practice in the General Instruction to the Roman Missal. Catholics are supposed to know that such a thing is forbidden. It is part of our unwritten tradition. Such a thing would, of course, be impossible at the Immemorial Mass of Tradition. Then again, as I realized only far too late, the Novus Ordo is nothing other than a celebration of the spirit of Protestantism and Judeo-Masonry and is a revolution against the Catholic Faith, including Sacred Tradition. Trying to "fight" for a "sane" Novus Ordo is as impossible as trying to keep "liberal, activist" judges from "misinterpreting the United States Constitution or as impossible as thinking that a restoration of "constitutional" principles will result in limited government. People keep trying, however. They keep trying.

The Protestant spirit of the "written word" influences Catholics across the ecclesiastical divide. Some say that "no pope ever condemned the American system," meaning that the "American system" has the full endorsement of the Catholic Church. This is not so. Pope after pope condemned the liberal spirit that was at the heart of the American founding and Pope Leo XIII specifically condemned the nature of Church-State relations in this country in Longiqua Oceani, January 6, 1895, which contained also an injunction by Pope Leo to the American bishops to teach his encyclical letters on the state that he knew were not being taught in this country. Pope Leo XIII also condemned the spirit of Americanism in Testem Benevolentiae, January 22, 1899, recognizing that that false spirit was leading Catholics here to view the Church through the eyes of pluralism and democracy and egalitarianism as they refused to view the world through the eyes of the true Faith:

But if this [the term Americanism] is to be so understood that the doctrines which have been adverted to above are not only indicated, but exalted, there can be no manner of doubt that our venerable brethren, the bishops of America, would be the first to repudiate and condemn it as being most injurious to themselves and to their country. For it would give rise to the suspicion that there are among you some who conceive and would have the Church in America to be different from what it is in the rest of the world. (Pope Leo XIII, Testem Benevolentiae Nostrae, January 22, 1899.)

7. The influences of Protestantism and Judeo-Masonry lead Catholics, steeped in the pragmatism of John Dewey, to reject as "unrealistic" and/or "idealistic" these simple reminders that Catholicism is the one and only foundation of personal and social order:

The more closely the temporal power of a nation aligns itself with the spiritual, and the more it fosters and promotes the latter, by so much the more it contributes to the conservation of the commonwealth. For it is the aim of the ecclesiastical authority by the use of spiritual means, to form good Christians in accordance with its own particular end and object; and in doing this it helps at the same time to form good citizens, and prepares them to meet their obligations as members of a civil society. This follows of necessity because in the City of God, the Holy Roman Catholic Church, a good citizen and an upright man are absolutely one and the same thing. How grave therefore is the error of those who separate things so closely united, and who think that they can produce good citizens by ways and methods other than those which make for the formation of good Christians. For, let human prudence say what it likes and reason as it pleases, it is impossible to produce true temporal peace and tranquillity by things repugnant or opposed to the peace and happiness of eternity. (Silvio Cardinal Antoniano, quoted by Pope Pius XI in Divini Illius Magistri, December 31, 1929.)

As with individuals, so with nations. These, too, must necessarily tend to ruin if they go astray from "The Way." The Son of God, the Creator and Redeemer of mankind, is King and Lord of the earth, and holds supreme dominion over men, both individually and collectively. "And He gave Him power, and glory, and a kingdom: and all peoples, tribes, and tongues shall serve Him" (Daniel vii., 14). "I am appointed King by Him . . . I will give Thee the Gentiles for Thy inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for Thy possession" (Psalm ii., 6, 8). Therefore the law of Christ ought to prevail in human society and be the guide and teacher of public as well as of private life. Since this is so by divine decree, and no man may with impunity contravene it, it is an evil thing for the common weal wherever Christianity does not hold the place that belongs to it. When Jesus Christ is absent, human reason fails, being bereft of its chief protection and light, and the very end is lost sight of, for which, under God's providence, human society has been built up. This end is the obtaining by the members of society of natural good through the aid of civil unity, though always in harmony with the perfect and eternal good which is above nature. But when men's minds are clouded, both rulers and ruled go astray, for they have no safe line to follow nor end to aim at. (Pope Leo XIII, Tametsi Futura Prospicientibus, November 1, 1900.)

Just as Christianity cannot penetrate into the soul without making it better, so it cannot enter into public life without establishing order. With the idea of a God Who governs all, Who is infinitely wise, good, and just, the idea of duty seizes upon the consciences of men.  It assuages sorrow, it calms hatred, it engenders heroes. If it has transformed pagan society--and that transformation was a veritable resurrection--for barbarism disappeared in proportion as Christianity extended its sway, so, after the terrible shocks which unbelief has given to the world in our days, it will be able to put that world again on the true road, and bring back to order the states and peoples of modern times. But the return of Christianity will not be efficacious and complete if it does not restore the world to a sincere love of the one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. In the Catholic Church Christianity is Incarnate. It identifies itself with that perfect, spiritual, and, in its own order, sovereign society, which is the Mystical Body of Jesus Christ and which has for Its visible head the Roman Pontiff, successor of the Prince of the Apostles. It is the continuation of the mission of the Savior, the daughter and the heiress of His Redemption.  It has preached the Gospel, and has defended it at the price of its blood, and strong in the Divine assistance and of that immortality which has been promised it, it makes no terms with error but remains faithful to the commands which It has received, to carry the doctrine of Jesus Christ to the uttermost limits of the world and to the end of time, and to protect it in its inviolable integrity. Legitimate dispenser of the teachings of the Gospel It does not reveal itself only as the consoler and Redeemer of souls, but It is still more the internal source of justice and charity, and the propagator as well as the guardian of true liberty, and of that equality which alone is possible here below. In applying the doctrine of its Divine Founder, It maintains a wise equilibrium and marks the true limits between the rights and privileges of society. The equality which it proclaims does not destroy the distinction between the different social classes  It keeps them intact, as nature itself demands, in order to oppose the anarchy of reason emancipated from Faith, and abandoned to its own devices. The liberty which it gives in no wise conflicts with the rights of truth, because those rights are superior to the demands of liberty.  Not does it infringe upon the rights of justice, because those rights are superior to the claims of mere numbers or power. Nor does it assail the rights of God because they are superior to the rights of humanity. (Pope Leo XIII, A Review of His Pontificate, March 19, 1902.)

That the State must be separated from the Church is a thesis absolutely false, a most pernicious error. Based, as it is, on the principle that the State must not recognize any religious cult, it is in the first place guilty of a great injustice to God; for the Creator of man is also the Founder of human societies, and preserves their existence as He preserves our own. We owe Him, therefore, not only a private cult, but a public and social worship to honor Him. Besides, this thesis is an obvious negation of the supernatural order. It limits the action of the State to the pursuit of public prosperity during this life only, which is but the proximate object of political societies; and it occupies itself in no fashion (on the plea that this is foreign to it) with their ultimate object which is man's eternal happiness after this short life shall have run its course. But as the present order of things is temporary and subordinated to the conquest of man's supreme and absolute welfare, it follows that the civil power must not only place no obstacle in the way of this conquest, but must aid us in effecting it. " (Pope Saint Pius X, Vehementer Nos, February 11, 1906.)

Here we have, founded by Catholics, an inter-denominational association that is to work for the reform of civilization, an undertaking which is above all religious in character; for there is no true civilization without a moral civilization, and no true moral civilization without the true religion: it is a proven truth, a historical fact. The new Sillonists cannot pretend that they are merely working on “the ground of practical realities” where differences of belief do not matter. Their leader is so conscious of the influence which the convictions of the mind have upon the result of the action, that he invites them, whatever religion they may belong to, “to provide on the ground of practical realities, the proof of the excellence of their personal convictions.” And with good reason: indeed, all practical results reflect the nature of one’s religious convictions, just as the limbs of a man down to his finger-tips, owe their very shape to the principle of life that dwells in his body.

This being said, what must be thought of the promiscuity in which young Catholics will be caught up with heterodox and unbelieving folk in a work of this nature? Is it not a thousand-fold more dangerous for them than a neutral association? What are we to think of this appeal to all the heterodox, and to all the unbelievers, to prove the excellence of their convictions in the social sphere in a sort of apologetic contest? Has not this contest lasted for nineteen centuries in conditions less dangerous for the faith of Catholics? And was it not all to the credit of the Catholic Church? What are we to think of this respect for all errors, and of this strange invitation made by a Catholic to all the dissidents to strengthen their convictions through study so that they may have more and more abundant sources of fresh forces? What are we to think of an association in which all religions and even Free-Thought may express themselves openly and in complete freedom? For the Sillonists who, in public lectures and elsewhere, proudly proclaim their personal faith, certainly do not intend to silence others nor do they intend to prevent a Protestant from asserting his Protestantism, and the skeptic from affirming his skepticism. Finally, what are we to think of a Catholic who, on entering his study group, leaves his Catholicism outside the door so as not to alarm his comrades who, “dreaming of disinterested social action, are not inclined to make it serve the triumph of interests, coteries and even convictions whatever they may be”? Such is the profession of faith of the New Democratic Committee for Social Action which has taken over the main objective of the previous organization and which, they say, “breaking the double meaning which surround the Greater Sillon both in reactionary and anti-clerical circles”, is now open to all men “who respect moral and religious forces and who are convinced that no genuine social emancipation is possible without the leaven of generous idealism.” (Pope Saint Pius X, Notre Charge Apostolique, August 15, 1910.)

The world in which we live, good readers, is based upon one anti-Incarnational, naturalistic, religiously indifferentist and Pelagian lie after another. Bloodshed must become a common feature of life in a chaotic, nihilistic world where there is such an abundance of sin unfettered by qualms of rightly formed consciences and sanctioned by the civil law.

Our Lady herself, explaining the events of the Transfiguration of her Divine Son, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, explained the effects of sin upon men and their nations in no uncertain terms as she related to Venerable Mary of Agreda and as found in The New English Edition of The Mystical City of God:

393. Having celebrated the Transfiguration the Blessed Mother was transported back to her house in Nazareth. Her divine Son descended the mountain and immediately came to visit Her in order to take final leave of his parental province and set out for Jerusalem; there, on the following Pasch, which was to be his last upon earth, He would enter upon his Passion. Having spent only a few days at Nazareth, He departed with his Mother, his Apostles and disciples, and some of the holy women, traveling about through Galilee and Samaria before entering Judea and Jerusalem. The Evangelist St. Luke writes of this journey when he says the Lord steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem (Lk. 9:51), for He journeyed to Jerusalem with a joyous countenance and full of desire to enter upon his sufferings in order to sacrifice Himself for the human race according to his own most ardent and generous desire. He was not to return to Galilee where He had wrought so many miracles. Knowing this at his departure from Nazareth He glorified his eternal Father, and in the name of his sacred humanity He gave thanks for having in that house and neighborhood received the human form and existence which He was now to deliver over to suffering and death. Of the prayers of Christ our Lord on this occasion I shall record as far as I can the following one:

393. “My eternal Father, in compliance with thy will I gladly hasten to satisfy thy justice by suffering even unto death; thus shall I reconcile to Thee all the children of Adam (Rom. 5:10), paying their debts and opening to them the gates of heaven which have been closed against them. I shall seek those who have turned away and lost themselves (Lk. 19:10), so they may be restored by the force of my love. I shall find and gather together the lost of the house of Jacob (Is. 56:8), raise up the fallen, enrich the poor, refresh the thirsty, cast down the haughty, and exalt the humble. I desire to vanquish hell and enhance the glories of the triumph over Lucifer and the vices which he has sown into the world (I Jn. 3:8). I desire to raise up the standard of the Cross, beneath which virtue all those who put themselves under its protection are to fight their battles (Mt. 16:24). I desire to satiate my Heart with insults and affronts (Lam. 3:30) which are so estimable in thy eyes. I desire to humiliate Myself even unto death (Philip. 2:8) at the hands of my enemies, so our chosen friends may be consoled in their tribulations and may be honored by high rewards whenever they choose to humiliate themselves in suffering the same persecutions. O beloved Cross! When shalt thou receive Me in thy arms? O sweet ignominies and affronts! When shalt thou bear Me on to overcome death through the sufferings of my entirely guiltless flesh (Heb. 2:14)? Ye pains, affronts, ignominies, scourges, thorns, torments and death, come to Me, who desires to embrace thee; yield thyselves to my welcome, since I well understand thy value. If the world abhors thee, I long for thee; if the world in its ignorance despises thee, I, who am truth and wisdom love and embrace thee. Come then to Me, for in welcoming thee as man, I exalt thee as the true God and am ready to efface the touch of sin from thee and from all who shall embrace thee. Come to Me ye pains, and disappoint Me not. Heed not my omnipotence, for I shall permit thee to exert thy full force upon my humanity. Thou shalt not be rejected and abhorred by Me as thou art by mortals. Now shall be banished the deceitful and lying enthrallment of the children of Adam, who serve vanity and lying (Ps. 4:3), judging as unhappy the poor, afflicted and affronted of this world; for if they see their true God, their Creator, Master and Father, suffering horrible insults, scourges, and the ignominious torment and destitution of the Cross, they shall understand their error and esteem it as an honor to follow their crucified God.”

394. These are some of the sentiments which I have been made to perceive in the Heart of the Master of life, our Savior. The sufferings of his death on the Cross show (as my words cannot express) how great was the love with which He sought and underwent them. Notwithstanding all this, our hearts are weighed down by sin and entangled in vanities (Ib.). Though we have life and truth before our eyes, we are nevertheless carried away by our pride and repelled by humility, ravished by what is pleasurable and full of abhorrence for what is painful. O lamentable errorTo labor much in order to avoid laboring a little, to entirely exhaust ourselves merely in order to avoid a small inconvenience, to foolishly resolve on suffering eternal shame and confusion just in order to evade a slight dishonor, or in order not to give up one hour of vain and apparent honor! Who that claims the use of his reason can say he loves himself by following such a course? No mortal enemy of his can ever do him a greater harm than he does himself by doing what is displeasing to God. We hold those as our enemies who flatter and entertain us while they have treason in their hearts, and we would call those foolish who would allow themselves to be betrayed by an insignificant pleasure and delight. If we judge correctly in this, as we really do, what shall we say of the judgment of those who are devotees of the world? Who has intoxicated them? Who has thus deprived them of their reason? O how great is the number of fools (Eccles. 1:15)!

395. Most holy Mary alone of all the children of Adam adjusted her whole life according to the will and conduct of her Son, without departing in the least from the closest imitation of his life and fulfillment of his doctrine. She was most prudent, knowledgeable, and full of wisdom, who could make up for our ignorance and foolishness and gain for us eternal truth in the midst of our darkness. This happened also on the occasion of which I have spoken, for the heavenly Lady saw in the mirror of the most holy soul of her Son all the actions and affections wrought in his interior. Since this was also the guide of her actions, conforming Herself to Him She prayed in conjunction with Him his prayer to the eternal Father, and in her interior said: “Most high God and Father of mercies, I confess thy infinite and immutable essence. Eternally do I praise and exalt Thee, for in this place, after Thou didst create me, Thou didst deign to glorify the power of thy arm by raising me to the dignity of Mother of thy Onlybegotten, and in the plenitude of thy Spirit and ancient mercies Thou hast magnified Thyself in me, thy humble slave, and because thy and my Onlybegotten in the flesh, which He assumed from my substance, has condescended to retain me in his most delightful company for thirty-three years, permitting me to enjoy his graces, his teachings, and his guidance for the enlightenment of the soul of thy handmaid. Today, my Lord and eternal Father, I leave my country and joyfully follow my Son and Master in order to be present at the sacrifice of his life and human existence for mankind. There is no sorrow like unto my sorrow (Lam. 1:12) at seeing the Lamb, who taketh away the sins of the world, delivered over to bloodthirsty wolves (Jer. 11:19); at seeing Him subjected to suffering, torments and death, who is the living image and figure of thy substance (Heb. 1:3), who is engendered of Thee from all eternity and equal to Thee through all the ages; at seeing Him, whom I have given life in my womb, subjected to insults and the death of the cross; and at seeing the beauty of that countenance, which is the joy of my eyes and the delight of all the angels, obscured by filth and wounds (Is. 53:2). O would it were possible that I receive the pains and sorrows which await Him, and that I could suffer death in order to save his life! Accept, heavenly Father, the sacrifice of my sorrowing affection, which I offer in union with Him, so thy holy will and pleasure may be fulfilled. O how quickly flee the days and hours which shall end in the night of my sorrow and bitterness! It shall be a fortunate day for the children of men, but a night of affliction for my sorrow-laden heart, so soon to be deprived of its illuminating Sun. O children of Adam, so deeply lost in error and so forgetful of yourselves! Awaken at last from your heavy slumber and recognize the weight of your sins in the devastation they are about to cause in your God and Creator! See their dire effects in my mortal sorrow and the bitterness of my soul! Begin at last to take heed of the damage wrought by sin!” (The New English Edition of The Mystical City of God, Book Six: The Transfixion, Chapter VI.)

Most Catholics do not want to be reminded of these truths. They strike out in anger against those of us who point them out, believing that "things" will be different "this" year, 2024, or, just maybe, two years from now, in the year 2026. We just have to leave our Catholicism "at the door" and continue to have our brains strait-jacketed into the diabolical trap of naturalism as we keep convincing ourselves that there is indeed something short of Catholicism by which order can be restored within our nation. To believe that, alas, is to believe in a lie, the lie of Protestantism and Judeo-Masonry, the lie of the pluralism of Americanism that is one of the foundational building blocks of conciliarism itself.

We do not look to "conservative" manifestos for the "principles" that must unite us against statism and statists. We must keep in mind that Catholicism is the one and only foundation of personal and social order. This won't win us elections and it won't win us friends (and it hasn't won some of us jobs in our chosen fields or much in the way of monetary support). We have no other choice. We must be faithful in a world of faithlessness as we try in our homes, enthroned as they must be to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, to make reparation for our own many sins and those of the whole world as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, praying as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit.
