Anthony Fauci Faces a Divine Reckoning At Which No Claim of a Faulty Memory Will Be Entertained

Much has been made about recent testimony that the tinhorn medical dictator named Anthony “I am the Science” Fauci gave to the House Subcommittee on the Origins of Covid. Here are two newspaper editorials that were based in the delusion that Fauci, who has come in for criticism on this website for nearly four years since the fraudster came into public prominence in his capacity as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) during the daily press briefings at the White House as then President Donald John Trump gave him, Fauci, nearly carte blanche to destroy the American economy, divide families and friends over such edicts as mask and social distancing mandates and, more importantly, and, yes, kill countless numbers of people by recommending rigid medical protocols for those infected with the Wuhan Virus that denigrated the value of early intervention and the use of Zinc and Vitamins C and D. As is usually the case, however, superficiality rules the day in the world of what passes for “journalism” in a world bereft of the guidance provided by Holy Mother Church, and this is why Fauci’s true record as a massive deceiver, enabler of the Chicoms, and vaccine profiteer who shares responsibility for the needless deaths of hundreds of thousand of people is never reported accurately.

Interestingly, however, even the Wall Street Journal and the New York Post editorially took note of Anthony Fauci’s multiple misrepresentations and his convenient forgetfulness about the origins of the Wuhan Virus and how he sought to discredit anyone who questioned his “expert” recommendations:

Anthony Fauci has never struggled to speak his mind. But now that he has left government, he is finally speaking at least some of the truth about government policies and Covid. For instance, the six-feet rule for social distancing “sort of just appeared” without a solid scientific basis. That’s one of the admissions that Members of Congress say the former National Institutes of Health potentate made this week in two days of closed-door testimony to the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.

It’s not news that the six-feet rule lacked scientific rhyme or reason. A BMJ article in August 2020 explained as much. It noted that the virus’s transmissibility depends on many factors, including ventilation, the host’s viral load and symptoms, and the duration of exposure, among other things.

Officials nonetheless promoted the arbitrary rule because they didn’t trust Americans to understand scientific nuance or, for that matter, anything. Businesses, churches and schools that weren’t forced to close had to spend money reconfiguring their operations to comply with these government guidelines.

It’s nice of Dr. Fauci to acknowledge now that the rule lacked a scientific basis. But at the time he and other officials didn’t want to acknowledge this lest the public question other Covid nostrums. Dr. Fauci had already undermined public trust by confessing that his advice not to wear a mask early in the pandemic was guided by political expedience.

Dr. Fauci also told the House that vaccine mandates “could increase vaccine hesitancy in the future,” according to Chairman Brad Wenstrup. Yes, it may, as we warned when President Biden imposed his vaccine mandates. Yet Dr. Fauci insisted that making life difficult for unvaccinated Americans would compel them to fall into line.

Making life difficult may have also been the point of the six-feet rule. Officials effectively forced businesses and schools to close by making it exceedingly burdensome to stay open, all the while dodging responsibility.

“Show me a school that I shut down and show me a factory that I shut down,” Dr. Fauci told the New York Times  last April. “Never. I never did. I gave a public-health recommendation that echoed the C.D.C.’s recommendation, and people made a decision based on that.” He’s too modest. He knows his recommendations, backed by a conformist press, put pressure on politicians to agree with him.

Government lockdowns caused enormous economic and social damage that may never be made up. It will also be hard for health officials to recoup the public trust they squandered with their hubris and prevarications. (Anthony Fauci Fesses Up.)

Former COVID czar Dr. Anthony Fauci gave closed-door testimony before Congress last week, so it’s time yet again for the Fauci Follies!

The pint-size patron saint of the failed restrictionist policies that lefties and COVID crazies love simply can’t admit he’s lost a massive argument with reality.

The Not-So-Good Doctor got off to a weak start in DC, surprising House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic Chair Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio) with “how much he doesn’t recall” from the start of the pandemic.

How convenient!

Fauci, after all, led the effort in the early days of the pandemic to quash the idea (now regarded as probable by the feds) that COVID sprang from the Wuhan Institute of Virology — throwing his considerable weight behind efforts to smear and suppress anyone who dared to dissent.

That’s after he admitted in private he took it seriously

And before COVID even hit, he was passing funds to the WIV via the EcoHealth Alliance as the NIH helped pay for gain-of-function research there

All great stuff to forget.

Then there’s the anti-COVID policies he championed: social distancing and vaccine mandates for schools and businesses.

On some of it, Fauci seems finally to have come clean. Per Wenstrup, he “claimed that the policies and mandates he promoted may unfortunately increase vaccine hesitancy for years to come.”

No shock there: He and his cronies encouraged draconian rules around vaccines that don’t meaningfully stop transmission or infection, even as the medical establishment did everything it could to make talking about their (real but thankfully rare) side effects taboo

On social distancing, it seems he’s admitted the whole thing was completely fake from the start.

The idea was everyone staying six feet away from each other would slow the virus spread.

From that flowed the “need” to close businesses, shut schools, and generally immiserate average Americans.

Yet, per Fauci (in Wenstrup’s words), the 6′ guidelines “sort of just appeared” without meaningful scientific input and “likely not based on scientific data.”

No kidding: The idea initially came from a high-schoolers 2006 science project (it placed third, by the way).

So, because of something Fauci now admits was totally made up, unimaginable harm was done — and yet he’s utterly unrepentant.

Perhaps the most terrible effect of this unscientific diktat was the massive academic and psychological damage it did to kids kept out of school for weeks and months on end.

Reading and math scores plummeted.

As of 2022, 8th graders had lost two decades — two decades! — of progress, the deepest drop ever.

For Fauci? No big deal!

According to Rep. Michael Cloud (R-Texas), he’s “still not convinced that there was learning loss” at all, that it’s “still really open for discussion.”

No, Tony, it’s not: The policies you backed did damage to a generation of kids — damage concentrated among poorer, black, and Latino students.

No wonder you lie; how else could you live with yourself?

It’s beyond clear by now that Fauci didn’t just get everything wrong about COVID it was possible to get wrong while treating anyone who disagreed like a Satan-worshipper.

He’s a cold-blooded sociopath, pure and simple.

The closed-door testimony is only the start; he’s slated to speak at a public hearing as well. (Fauci admits social distancing (everything else) was based on fake science.)

Anthony Fauci's faulty memory about decisions he made and actions he undertook during the height of the plandemic won't be entertained when he faces the Divine reckoning that will occur with his Particular Judgment. As will be case with each of us, he will be called to account for his words and actions, which in his case resulted in a veritable massacre of human beings, the divion of families and friends, and loss of many family business that had been operatng for geneations.

Although the two editorials are very good, it should be noted that the existence of government-run indoctrination centers that go by the name of “schools” is, after the chemical and surgical execution of preborn children in the sanctuary of their mothers’ wombs, the nothing other than child-abuse as it is within these textbook/computer program-driven ideological centers of brainwashing that children are taught not to think rationally, to trust the “experts,” taught junk history that is now based on socialist/racialist ideologies, and to believe the lie that there are more than two genders as they are psychologically programmed into questioning whether they should “identify” as anything other than the biological sex that God gave them.

However, though, Anthony Fauci’s fascist streak did not begin with the Wuhan Virus plandemic. Not at all.

Part four of the “Sin: More Deadly Than the Coronavirus” series, which was published on April 2, 2020, relied information found in a video presentation produced by Ty and Charlene Bollinger, about how the Director of the United States National Agency for Allergy and Infectious Diseases a fellow Dr. Anthony Fauci, directly funded the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a Biosafety Lab-4 facility, with American taxpayer dollars at a time when the administration of Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro and Vice President Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., had placed a moratorium on the funding of gain-of-function studies.

The Bollingers’ video also featured the nefarious activities of the ubiquitous Dr. Anthony Fauci, who is on the leadership council of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and who silenced Dr. Judy Mikovits at the Whittemore Peterson Institute in 2011 when she discovered that the a mouse retrovirus, XXMRV, had contaminated the MMR [measles, mumps, rubella), polio and encephalitis vaccines that are given to children and soldiers, thus causing a national health crisis.

Dr. Mikovits’s studies and her research were confiscated, and she was eventually sent to jail, briefly, before charges against her were dismissed by the district attorney of Washoe County, Nevada, for refusing to sign a document in which she disowned her findings. These are her own words as contained in the Bollingers’ video:

What Tony Fauci, Ian Lipkin and Harold Varmus did was pressure me to withdraw our manuscript. I refused again.” (W.H.O’s Not Telling the Truth.)

The Bollingers noted that Anthony Fauci gave his own career vaccine program priority above the safety and health of Americans.

Dr. Mikovits went on to say:

“When I refused to be silent, Dr. Fauci stepped in and ordered that my computer and notebooks be confiscated and orchestrated the retraction of our science paper [that had been published in Science magazine, which is published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science]. He then removed all my funding and prevented me from getting a job in government research from 2012 forward.” (W.H.O’s Not Telling the Truth.)

Anthony Fauci is a fascist. He is used to bullying people, and this is what he did with utter impunity as he was indemnified by Donald John Trump, super-emboldened by Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr, and given an antipapal seal of approval by Jorge Mario Bergoglio as he kept demonizing those who refused to be vaccinated with the vaccines derived from the cells of aborted babies and that have changed the genetic system of its recipients while doing untold harm to many, if not most, of those who submitted themselves to getting jabbed with Fauci’s poisoned needles.

United States Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) has been in the forefront of efforts to hold  Anthony Fauci accountable for his massive crimes by which he deceived the American people, aided and abetted by a shallow man whose presidency he desired to sabotage, Donald John Trump, into accepting a form of not-so-soft authoritarianism as a preparation for the totalitarianism that is to come in the not-too-distant future:

Dr. Anthony Fauci “should go to prison” for mishandling the COVID-19 pandemic and making the “worst decision ever made by a public health official in the history of time” regarding the origins of the deadly outbreak, Sen. Rand Paul charged Sunday.

Paul, a Kentucky Republican and eye doctor, has repeatedly clashed with Fauci over mask-wearing, lockdowns and other emergency measures ordered and recommended by the then-director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

“History should judge him as a deficient person who made one of the worst decisions in public health history — in the entire history of the world,” Paul said of the former chief White House medical advisor during an interview on WABC 770 AM’s “The Cats Roundtable.”

The senator ripped “slipshod” Fauci, holding him culpable for research done in the Wuhan, China lab, which Paul believes triggered the viral outbreak.

“For his dishonesty, frankly, he should go to prison,” Paul told WABC host John Catsimatidis. “Do you think the scientific knowledge that was gained from this research was worth the deaths of 20 million people?”

The Government Accountability Office issued a report in June 2023 that found the National Institutes of Health (NIH) had contributed more than $1.4 million to Chinese research institutions between 2014 and 2019 despite serious biosafety concerns, including at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Fauci previously denied in testimony to Congress that the NIH had funded risky gain-of-function research at the lab in Wuhan, the area where the pandemic began in late 2019.

Paul said he was startled that Democrats still treat the nation’s former infectious disease chief as a medical messiah and protect him as a “symbol of big government.”

“He’s never been held responsible,” the senator said.

Fauci, the top pandemic medical adviser to two presidents, testified privately last week before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The chairman of the committee, Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio), has said he was surprised how frequently Fauci said he didn’t recall decisions or circumstances during the early days of the outbreak that killed 1.1 million Americans.

Paul pounced on the 83-year-old Fauci’s of not being able to respond to questions over 100 times.

“A guy that’s smart enough to think that he can shut down the schools, shut down the economy, force everybody to get vaccinated, including children, including people who have already had COVID, including the military – we had mandates everywhere, and he was all for them – yet he can’t recall how the decision-making went or what the science is to support this,” Paul said Sunday.

He poked Fauci for saying he approved all the research at the Wuhan lab but didn’t read it.

“It looked like the virus came from the lab. But the lab only was able to function because the US funded it and Anthony Fauci approved of it,” Paul said.

“This is probably the worst decision ever made by a public health official in the history of time.”

Fauci could not be reached for comment.

During last week’s House testimony, Fauci spoke of a “new definition” of “operational” gain-of-function research, a phrase that often describes experiments that make viruses more contagious and virulent.

Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.) told reporters afterwards that Fauci had referred to his “operational” definition when discussing his prior high-profile clashes with Paul over the topic in 2021 hearings.

The House subcommittee is also probing influence Fauci may have had over the US intelligence community about the origin of the pandemic after a whistleblower alleged that the NIAID director secretly visited CIA headquarters in an attempt to “influence” analysts who later were unable to determine whether SARS-CoV-2 leaked from a lab or was transmitted from animals to humans.

Fauci declined to respond to The Post’s questions last week about the whistleblower’s claim as he arrived for his interview. He also did not stop to talk as he left the interview room last Monday evening. (Dr. Anthony Fauci deserves to go to prison over 'dishonesty' on COVID-19 origins: Sen. Rand Paul.)

Senator Paul is correct about Anthony Fauci’s dishonesty, to say nothing of his incompetent recommendations to stop the spread of the HIV/AIDs viruses in the 1980s by “vaccines” rather than by exhorting sodomites to stop their perversely unchaste behavior. However, the government of the United States of America has long been in the business of spreading lies it has done so throughout this country’s history, especially as relates to public health, something that Mrs. Randy Engel noted in her four-part series on the lies told during the polio vaccine propaganda campaign seventy years ago (see Covid-19 and the Art of Brainwashing – Part IPart IIPart III                      and  Part IV.)

Among the many interesting comments to this article is the following:

Yep. Skip prison. Put him on a ventilator and suffocate him...like he did to untold numbers of people. Invite any relatives of his victims to watch him die. (Dr. Anthony Fauci deserves to go to prison over 'dishonesty' on COVID-19 origins: Sen. Rand Paul.)

Yes, Fauci’s rigid one-size-fits-all-regardless of one’s health history and personal physiology protocols are still killing people:

In September 2021, Georgia native Briana MacDowell Ross was preparing to celebrate her first wedding anniversary with her husband, Jason Christopher Ross, a military combat veteran with whom she was raising three young children.

But later that month, Briana, Jason and their children became sick. The family followed the America’s Frontline Doctors COVID-19 protocol, but while Briana and the children quickly recovered, Jason did not.

Jason’s worsening illness soon led to a positive COVID-19 diagnosis and his admission to Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville, Georgia, on Oct. 7, 2021.

By Oct. 25, Jason was dead at age 36 — a victim, Briana says, of COVID-19 hospital protocols that included administration of remdesivir and fentanyl and placement on a ventilator.

Briana, who is now raising her three children as a single mother, spoke to The Defender about Jason’s experience in the hospital and her difficulties in obtaining his medical records. She shared medical records with The Defender to corroborate her story.

According to Briana, while Jason qualified for veteran’s benefits, because they didn’t live close to a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) hospital they went to their local hospital.

At Piedmont, Briana said that medical staff “were aware” from the start that Jason was not vaccinated for COVID-19, which she believes led to the poor treatment he received.

With Jason’s oxygen levels very low, they initially sought treatment at local urgent care facilities but were turned away. According to Briana, one facility told her they would not accept her husband’s VA insurance — but also would not accept cash payment, because he was insured.

That left them with their local hospital.

Briana said:

“I had heard things, stories about the hospitals [but] I didn’t know anyone personally that had anything happen to them at the hospital. I was just praying and looking at him, and he just looked like he was struggling to breathe. And so, I kind of freaked out and said, ‘We’ve got to go to the hospital.’”

She said she assumed if she were there, and could tell hospital staff what not to do, everything would be okay. She told medical staff she needed to know what treatment Jason would receive before approving it, and insisted that he not be placed on a ventilator.

A nurse reassured her, saying, “We’re just going to get him some oxygen and just check his vitals.”

But after Jason tested positive for COVID-19, “that was it,” Briana said. “They took him back and I couldn’t see him or be with him, even though we had slept in the same bed the night before and every night,” she said.

Briana was told to leave the hospital, but “called during every shift.” However, during her first phone call, a nurse told her that her husband wouldn’t be returning home that evening, “with some attitude,” as Brianna recalled.

“I kept calling the shifts to get updates,” Briana said. “I have all these notes, but it really doesn’t matter, because they lied and withheld a lot of information every single time.”

The morning after Jason was admitted, Briana received a call from one of the doctors at the hospital, “screaming into the phone” that Jason was “going to die if he doesn’t get on the ventilator.” Briana again refused, but in the coming days, doctors “kept insisting on the ventilator.”

By Jason’s third day at the hospital, which coincided with the couple’s first wedding anniversary, they allowed Briana a short visit. But at the hospital, Brianna said she saw her husband inside a “glass room,” while a nurse warned her that “if you try to go through that door, I’m going to call security.”

“I was just kind of standing there watching him, talking to him through the glass, and it just really disturbed me, what I watched,” Briana said.

Noting that she has family members who are nurses and is familiar with some nursing practices, Briana said that when she asked the nurses on duty if they were, for instance, “slipping him to prone position and then back,” the nurses were dismissive.

She also recalled seeing Jason’s oxygen levels drop precipitously after the nurses’ interventions, but nurses and doctors were again dismissive. Instead, a pulmonologist told her, “He’s not going on the ventilator because of you.”

Briana asked the doctor about other treatments, including ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine, but was told those treatments were “no good.” When Briana continued to press the pulmonologist for answers, he “started getting very frustrated with me” and showed her a ventilator machine in the hallway.

“He was like, ‘it’s ready for him to go,’ and was just trying to talk me into it,” Briana said. When she refused once more, “he took his gloves off and bunched them up, rolled them into a ball, and threw them right over my head and they hit the wall and fell into the trash can. It was very aggressive … and then he just walked away angry,” she recalled.

Following this, Briana said the nurse who had previously warned her about entering her husband’s glass room told her it was “time to leave.”

“I think now, I wish I would’ve gone through that door,” Briana said. “But when I left, I just started working on getting him out of there.”

Hospital staff would ‘bully him’

Briana’s efforts to get Jason discharged were unsuccessful, however, especially because all the options required paperwork that had to be signed by hospital staff — and that was an insurmountable obstacle.

Briana said:

“They would send their team of nurses and doctors to go in there and bully him. They had already been drugging him up for a couple of days. They had given him Xanax by this time and had started him on remdesivir … he was just so weak and tired, and they just kept doing that to him. He was alone. … They literally imprisoned him to where he couldn’t really fight back.”

She said one nurse told her that if Jason were to leave the hospital, they wouldn’t be able to help him. This meant “we would have to unhook all the machines [ourselves] and then he would have to get up, get himself dressed … he’d have to walk down this quarter-of-a-mile hallway to the elevator and come to meet me in the front lobby and walk down another hallway first.”

“I wouldn’t be able to go up and help him,” Briana added. “I wouldn’t be able to get a wheelchair. They wouldn’t be able to wheelchair him down or help him. Nobody would … And so, they made it impossible for us to get him out unless we did something ‘illegal’ or ‘against the rules.’”

By the next day, Jason appeared to be recovering, but the hospital said he needed to stay for “one more night.” However, the next day, Briana said they called her at 6 a.m. insisting he was weak and needed to be put on a ventilator.

Briana said she saved lots of text messages from Jason, telling her he was “starving,” and thirsty, but the hospital staff wouldn’t let him eat because they didn’t want him to aspirate.

He’d barely had anything to eat or drink, she said. “And they were loading him up on drugs, as I came to find out later in the medical records.”

This treatment was accompanied by what Briana described as “gaslighting,” as she found out that hospital staff were telling Jason not to listen to her, telling him that Briana was a “conspiracy theorist” with “no medical degree.”

“They tried to turn us against each other,” Briana said.

This treatment wore so heavily on Jason, that he finally agreed to go on the ventilator, telling Briana “I’m just so exhausted.”

According to Briana, doctors told her Jason was “working so hard to try to breathe … and his heart is tired and his body’s tired.” They claimed the ventilator would “give his lungs a rest and give him a rest so his body can heal, and then he could wake up and come off the ventilator healthy and healed.”

Briana said she finally relented, recalling that her “hands were tied because nobody was working with me,” including the patient advocate at the hospital and local attorneys, who she said, “weren’t even doing anything COVID-related.”

‘Creepy and scary and disgusting horror show’

Jason initially appeared to improve, and by the third day, was being weaned off the ventilator, Briana said. But then, she said hospital staff told her they’d have to stop weaning him off because something was wrong. He was subsequently diagnosed with pseudomonas, a hospital-acquired infection.

Two days later, Jason again appeared to be on the mend after being given antibiotics. “They were weaning him off the ventilator again,” Briana said. “Then, this new doctor came on and said ‘Nope, we’ve got to start over, he’s trying to breathe over the vent.’”

Briana resisted the hospital’s efforts to have Jason fully ventilated again, and once more brought up ivermectin, but the new doctor “screeched” and “laughed” at her.

That night, Briana received a call from the hospital informing her that Jason had “coded” — but was not given further details. When arrived at the hospital in the morning, the pulmonologist told her “There is no hope,” she said.

“I was asking them, ‘If you keep telling me I can’t do any of my interventions this whole time, but you’re saying yours aren’t working, then can we use mine?’” referring to the use of ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine. But they still refused to treat Jason with ivermectin or anything else Briana suggested.

One doctor told Briana, in response to a question about ivermectin, that it “causes kidney failure.”

A kidney doctor Briana spoke to offered the use of a dialysis machine, but then withdrew that offer because Jason’s “blood pressure got too low.” According to Briana, when she asked what could be done to raise his blood pressure again, another doctor told her, “It’s not looking good for your husband.”

Later, Briana says a nurse told her “Your husband’s not going to survive the night.”

Briana said this experience felt, to her, like she “was in a movie or a TV show — a horror — really creepy and scary and disgusting horror show.”

She said she’d previously refused to sign a Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order, but reached an agreement — or believed she had — that her husband would be “flipped” if his pulse fell below a certain threshold. That’s when the hospital staff told her that Jason could be placed on dialysis, after all, Briana said.

But something didn’t seem right, she said, claiming the nurse who told her this “looked a little too happy.” She now believes that “it was the way that they could get me to sign a DNR without signing a DNR, because I had to agree that they had to flip him to stick something in his neck to do this process, and then they were going to flip him right back.”

“When they flipped him,” Briana continued, “he coded, and that was that.”

Briana was subsequently called into her husband’s room. “They had him naked without a sheet cover, in the middle with all this medical staff doing CPR … It was just so horrible, and I actually feel like they were trying to punish me in a way … they insisted upon me coming in.”

Staff told Briana they would not perform CPR for more than 15 minutes, despite her insistence that they continue. After 15 minutes, they stopped and “announced his time of death before I could even say anything.”

Administered remdesivir despite diagnosis of acute kidney injury

The end of Jason’s life marked the beginning of still another battle for Briana, as she fought the hospital for his medical records. It took multiple visits to the hospital to get the full records.

“The thing that’s really helped me the most is the itemized list of drugs” in those records, Briana said.

According to the COVID-19 Humanity Betrayal Memory Project (CHBMP), the medications included remdesivir, adrenaline, anxiety medications, blood thinner, blood pressure medication, diuretics, fentanyl, insulin, Lasix, midazolam, painkillers, paralytic drugs, precede, propofol, sedatives and Xanax.

“One huge thing I found out was that he was diagnosed with acute kidney injury on admission, and no one ever told me that,” Briana said. “The physician in the ER at the time of admission wrote in the records … ‘Patient is not a candidate for remdesivir due to the acute kidney injury.’ And they started him on it the next day in the ICU.”

“I also found out that [Jason received] the same drugs as a lethal injection in his protocol towards the end.” The hospital administered the most fentanyl “at the highest possible dosages,” she said. “It was sick … It’s literally like they euthanized my husband.”

Briana said that she subsequently learned of the COVID-19 hospital protocols and now blames them for her husband’s death.

“I know more about it than I wish I knew,” she said. “That was all the COVID Hospital Protocol, and it was a one-size-fits-all model.”

‘Taking action is very, very healing’

Raising three children as a single mother is “so hard and it’s exhausting,” Briana said. “You don’t have that other person to give you a break.”

She said she is experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder “from everything I saw and what happened at the hospital. It was straight-up abuse of him and me,” Briana said.

One way in which Briana is attempting to cope is through involvement with CHBMP and the FormerFeds Freedom Foundation, for which she is now Georgia’s state chair.

“These are the people I need,” Briana said. “They get it.”

As Georgia state chair, she is actively working on legislative issues and local initiatives in addition to blogging for the FormerFeds Substack page and working on the group’s social media presence. She is also participating in a class-action lawsuit FormerFeds filed against Gilead, distributor of remdesivir.

“I try to educate people through social media every day,” Briana said, adding that she is drawing upon her degree in marketing to craft content that resonates with the public.

Briana encourages victims and their family members to join FormerFeds and CHBMP.

“Everyone will understand you. You’ve all been through the same thing. You can learn so much. You can find your people, people that believe you. It’s an amazing feeling just to have that support … taking action is very, very healing.” (Exclusive: Widow of 36-Year-Old Believes COVID Hospital Protocols Killed Her Husband.)

Anthony Fauci helped to mastermind protocols that killed hundreds of thousands of people, and he has personally profited from the “vaccines” developed under former President Donald John Trump’s warped Operation Warp Speed, which has resulted in the deaths of an unknown number of people globally and that continue to cause damage the long-term health of hundreds of thousands of others.

Far from getting “answers” from the conveniently forgetful Anthony Fauci, the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic ignored the fake, phony, fraud, protocols, and they did not do anything to address the deaths and injuries caused by the poisoned jabs that the hapless, mercurial stooge of statists and Marxists named Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., mandated for all Federal workers, including for those in the armed forces of the United States of America.

Dr. Peter A. McCullough, who testified before United States Representative Majorie Taylor Greene’s committee on Friday, January 12, 2024, explained that Fauci had not been asked any important questions other than those dealing with social distancing mandates, which Fauci finally admitted were not based on any scientific evidence whatsoever:

I appeared on Outside the Beltway with John Fredericks with Real America’s Voice to comment on the US House of Representatives Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic interrogation of Dr. Fauci this week. My interview was on the morning of Friday, January 12, 2024, a few hours before I would testify in Congress and give my analysis of the pandemic response and the vaccine debacle.

Fauci was not asked a single important question from the committee on his role with Drs. Ralph Baric, Peter Daszak, and Shi Zhengli on the creation through gain-of-function research, of the SARS-like Wuhan Institute of Virology-1-CoV virus published in 2015-2016. He was not asked why the genetic code from Baric’s virus was not released to the public per usual procedures with government sponsored research.

he answer is likely the code matched or was a near relative to the ancestral Wuhan strain that got the entire world sick. Finally Fauci was not asked about record injuries, disabilities, and death.

I told Fredericks that I was about to for the first time, make a call to remove the COVID-19 vaccines from the market and get it on the Congressional record. Furthermore, I was going to ask for Congress to make that call through its five committees that have oversight on the FDA and send that call to HHS who formerly overseas the rogue agency.

Please take a listen to this brief update as we move into my congressional testimony in the Rayburn building that happened just a few hours later. (House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic is Easy Theater for Fauci. Please see Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene Leads a Hearing on Injuries Caused By COVID-19 Vaccines: Part II for the full video of the Select Subcommittee’s hearing at which Dr. McCullough and others testified.)

There are many supposed “scientists” and medical personnel who lived in fear of doing anything that went contrary to the Fauci protocols that the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention “recommended.” Reminders of these “recommendations” could be found in all but a handful of healthcare institutions and medical offices around the United States of America, and very few who worked in these institutions or offices ever dared a word of protest about the various “vaccines” that killed and injured so many here and around the world.

Indeed, testimony given by Dr. McCullough and two other physicians, Drs. Ryan Cole and Kirk Milhoan, indicated the harm done by the salvific “vaccines” might continue for five years after they are injected into patients who believe they do can prevent or mitigate the effects of any coronavirus even though the “vaccines” do no such thing:

Friday January 12, 2024, Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene held a historic US Congressional Panel in The Rayburn Building on Capitol Hill to learn why COVID-19 vaccination continues to cause record injuries, disabilities, and deaths, even years after the primary series in 2021.

The hearing was attended by Greene (R-GA), Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI), US Representatives Warren Davidson (R-Ohio), and Any Biggs (R-AZ) and the witnesses were Dr. Peter McCullough adult internal medicine, cardiology, Dr. Ryan Cole, clinical pathology, and Dr. Kirk Milhoan, pediatrics, pediatric cardiology.

The two hour session was nonstop from opening statements and questions from our lawmakers to the experts. It was live-stream broadcasted through many channels and press took interviews from Greene and Johnson. The audience included stakeholders who have suffered injuries from COVID-19 vaccination, students, corporate executives, independent media, and the Children’s Health Defense.

Dozens of citations are given for the Congressional Record from the peer-reviewed literature, safety databases, and slides were shown demonstrating COVID-19 vaccine Spike protein doing widespread damage to the human body. Dr. McCullough pointed out for genetic products, the FDA regulatory window for safety concerns is five years. Americans are worried. A Rasmussen poll out on the day of the hearing reported 53% of Americans think severe side effects from the vaccines are leading to large numbers of unexplained deaths.

Please take the time to review this hearing and please share it widely with your family, friends, and colleagues. At the end Senator Johnson makes a plea to physicians and other healthcare workers to come forward, be honest in their missteps, and get on the right side of history. COVID-19 vaccination has been a biological safety catastrophe for the world. On January 12, 2024, all three witnesses called for market withdrawal of all COVID-19 vaccine products for safety concerns—it’s in the record. (COVID-19 Vaccines May Cause Harm Five Years after Injection.)

None of this need to have occurred if the medical industry and the scientific community were informed by the truths of the Holy Faith and thus seek only that which redounds to the greater honor and glory of the Most Holy Trinity as well as to the eternal good of men, an end that must guide all that they do on behalf treatment patients properly as they would treat the Divine Redeemer Himself and to conduct scientific research with a due regard for the binding precepts of the Divine Positive Law and the Natural Law.

As I have noted so many times in the past few years, what is so very tragic about the harm that has been done and is being done by the Fauci protocols and the Fauci vaccines on which he reaps lots of royalties far in excess of his Federal pension is the fact that there is no understanding that medical care once was based entirely on both the bodily and spiritual care of patients.

The Middle Ages, which is so hated and disparaged by Protestants, Talmudists, Freemasons, and most other non-Catholics, saw the establishment of numerous religious communities whose charism was the care of the sick and the establishment and maintenance of hospitals. One of those communities was the Hospitallers of Saint John of God, although there are very few members of the order today because of the doctrinal, liturgical, and moral bankruptcy of conciliarism (Poland and the Spanish provinces of Andalusia and Castile have the most Hospitallers in comparison to most of the world; there are only seventeen in the United States of America). Saint Aloysius, a professed member of the Society of Jesus, gave up his life to serve those in Rome who had contracted the plague, and our own Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini, whose feast we celebrated twenty-four days ago, made sure that the establishment of hospitals was one of the chief works of her own Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (in addition to caring for Italian immigrants to the United States of America and elsewhere in the Americas, establishing schools and orphanages). Mind you, these are only a few examples of the numerous saintly Catholics who took seriously the commands of the Holy Gospel to provide care to others motivated by a love of God as He has revealed Himself to us through His true Church and the spiritual and temporal good of the souls for whom His Divine Son shed every single drop of His Most Precious Blood to redeem.

Rather than the indifference and, in all to many cases, callousness of many medical “professionals’ today who view time with their patients as burdensome, which is why some have taken to delivering messages to patients via video screens displayed on a robot, institutions of mercy established and maintained by the Catholic Church and staffed with believing Catholics took the time to comfort patients in body, mind and soul. Patients received sound medical care in Catholic healthcare institutions of yore, and many priests, consecrated religious, lay Catholic physicians, nurses, nurses’ aides, orderlies, and other staff members took the time to sit by the bedside of patients while they prayed Our Lady’s Most Holy Rosary together and to recite other prayers with them throughout the day. Those who serve others as though they are serving Our Lord Himself do so with a cheerful demeanor but are also ready to offer sympathy and compassion in times of distress and sorrow according to these words of Saint Paul the Apostle:

[6] And having different gifts, according to the grace that is given us, either prophecy, to be used according to the rule of faith; [7] Or ministry, in ministering; or he that teacheth, in doctrine; [8] He that exhorteth, in exhorting; he that giveth, with simplicity; he that ruleth, with carefulness; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. [9] Let love be without dissimulation. Hating that which is evil, cleaving to that which is good. [10] Loving one another with the charity of brotherhood, with honour preventing one another.

[11] In carefulness not slothful. In spirit fervent. Serving the Lord. [12] Rejoicing in hope. Patient in tribulation. Instant in prayer. [13] Communicating to the necessities of the saints. Pursuing hospitality. [14] Bless them that persecute you: bless, and curse not. [15] Rejoice with them that rejoice; weep with them that weep.

[16] Being of one mind one towards another. Not minding high things, but consenting to the humble. Be not wise in your own conceits. [17] To no man rendering evil for evil. Providing good things, not only in the sight of God, but also in the sight of all men. [18] If it be possible, as much as is in you, have peace with all men. [19] Revenge not yourselves, my dearly beloved; but give place unto wrath, for it is written: Revenge is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord. [20] But if thy enemy be hungry, give him to eat; if he thirst, give him to drink. For, doing this, thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head.

[21] Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil by good. (Romans 12: 6-21.)

Yes, there was a time when institutions of mercy provided the Corporal Works of Mercy as befits redeemed creatures, mindful that patients must be prepared to receive to the Sacraments and that those who are not disposed to do would be able to make their peace with the good God in the Sacred Tribunal of Penance on a regular basis, especially before they die, and to receive Holy Communion frequently while hospitalized and as Final Viaticum as death approaches. It is the absence of such care today, especially in institutions formerly administered by the authority of the Catholic Church that have merged with or been taken over by large corporate entities and are operated on an almost purely utilitarian basis without any regard to the binding precepts of the Divine Positive Law and the Natural Law and thus of seeing the Divine impress in all that they serve.
What we witnessed during the height of the plandemic was the consequence of the Protestant Revolution’s overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King that was cemented by the rise and institutionalization of Judeo-Masonry’s naturalistic view of the world that makes no place for redemptive suffering and, quite instead, is a tool of viewing the sick and the suffering in a purely utilitarian cost-benefit manner.

A System Taken Over by the Merchants of Death

Now, as I have noted previously on this site, this does not mean that there are not good professionals in the healthcare industry who are devoted to healing. Of course not. It would be inaccurate and irresponsible to state such a thing. There are many people who work long, hard hours and who are doing their best on a purely natural level to help patients, including elderly patients who have had heart attacks or strokes or suffer from some long-term, debilitating disease.

Nevertheless, however, it remains the case that, despite the level of care one receives and the dedication of many healthcare providers to the healing of the sick, the ethos of “palliative care,” which the nefarious Anthony Fauci euphemized as “comfort care,” saw to it that so many hundreds and thousands of people died needlessly during the height of the plandemic, and I have no doubt that many others, trusting naively in the so-called “healthcare professionals” and the “official” “public health” narratives.

Make no mistake about the matter, however: the rigid protocols and then the vaccine mandates that controlled the plandemic narrative were the logical consequences of a healthcare system that has long been suffused with the “palliative care” mentality into every figurative corpuscle of major medical institutions, and it is also true that much of the good care provided on the merely natural level will last as long as does a patient’s insurance or savings accounts. No money, no care, and that is where the “bottom line” matters more than anything else, which is why the notorious “call to hospice” is made when “all is lost,” which in too many instances today means that the money has simply dried up and it is no longer cost-effective to keep someone who is comatose, terminally ill or suffering from some debilitating condition that interferes with his “quality of life.”

The late “Doctor Death,” Jack Kevorkian, was a cardboard caricature of a utilitarian killer who played God in life and then had to face Him in death. Far more dangerous than Jack Kevorkian are the ordinary men and women in the healthcare industry who think nothing of making “quality of life” decisions that are not other than life and death decisions the moment a patient walks through the door and is interviewed by the first member of the “team.” Very few of those in the medical profession see the Divine impress in those they treat as they do not even see it within themselves.

The horrible situations we face in the world, including the traps that exist within the healthcare industry, are, as noted just above, but the inevitable results of the overthrow of the Social Reign of Christ the King wrought by the Protestant Revolution and its subsequent institutionalization by the rise of Judeo-Masonry and all of the naturalist myths spread by its adherents. It is nonetheless true that the lords of conciliarism have enabled the regime of “palliative care” that was propagated by the Robert Wood Johnson and Soros foundations. Jorge Mario Bergoglio and his handpicked minions in the revamped “pontifical” academy of life have been very vocal in this regard. (See, for example, A Mutual Alliance in Behalf of Spiritual and Physical Death: Jorge Mario Bergoglio and George Soros and Life, Death, and Truth: Under Attack by Medicine and Law.)

Sickness, disability, pain, and death are the temporal effects of Original Sin and our own Actual Sins on the human body. A soul consecrated to Our Lord through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary expresses gratitude for every consolation and for every cross given unto him. We must recognize that each consolation and every cross is a sign of God's great love and mercy for us as He gives us consolations to give us encouragement in this vale of tears and as He gives us crosses to unite us more fully to His Holy Cross so that we can help to pay back the debt of what we owe for our own forgive sins, help to convert hardened sinners alive on the face of this earth and to help to release the Poor Souls in the Church Suffering in Purgatory.

A soul who lives in the conscious awareness of his Total Consecration to Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary does not live in fear of the exigencies of the moment in his personal life. He maintains an equanimity in the midst of personal travails, seeing each as coming from the hand of God and understanding without a moment's hesitation that the graces He won for us on the wood of the Holy Cross and that flow through the loving hands of Our Lady, the Mediatrix of All Graces, are sufficient to prosper under each cross, recognizing as well that absolutely nothing we suffer in this life is the equal of what one of our least Venial Sins caused Him to suffer in His Sacred Humanity during His Passion and Death.

A soul who lives in the consciousness awareness of his Total Consecration to Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary does not live in fear of the exigencies of the moment in the life of the Church Militant on earth or the world. He maintains an equanimity in the midst of these travails, hoping and praying that his own acts of reparation to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary will help to plant a few seeds for the Resurrection of the Mystical Body of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ upon earth and for the restoration of Christendom in the world.

Consider these words of Father Edward Leen in Why the Cross?

For men, as a rule, have but shown themselves too eager to manage their own temporal affairs. They resent what they call the Church's interference. This resentment culminates in a deliberate exclusion of the Church from the councils of peoples. Even at the best of times, when States were not yet professedly secularist, what jealousy was always manifested with regard to the action of the Church in secular matters! How slow men were to take her advice! How her efforts for procuring the temporal welfare of men were hampered, thwarted and positively resisted!

The gradual silencing of the voice of Christianity in the councils of the nations is the evil cause of the chaotic conditions of modern civilized life. This issue was inevitable. For though the Church's wisdom is primarily in the domain of things of the world to come, yet she is wise, too, with regard to the things of the world that is. She is not for the world, and yet she is able and even ready to act as if she were equipped specially to procure the temporal good of men.  [See Maritain, St. Thomas Aquinas, p. 134.] She is able and willing to give men directions in temporal matters, which, if followed, will result in temporal prosperity. She is too wise to promote unrealizable Utopias, from which all suffering and toil will be banished. She can give prudent directions how to devise measures for the mitigation of inevitable hardships and the elimination of unnecessary evils. If rulers and ruled alike listened to her voice, the authentic voice of Christianity, what a change would come over the world! It would not cease to be a vale of tears but would cease to be a vale of savage strife. It would not become an earthly Paradise but would become an earth where man's dreams of a satisfying order of things could be realized. (Father Edward Leen, Why the Cross?, originally published by Sheed & Ward in 1938, and republished in 2001 by Scepter Publishers, Princeton, New Jersey,  pp. 14-15.)

We must lift our minds and hearts to Heaven as we embrace the Holy Cross, ever conscious of the price that Our Lord paid to redeem us thereon, a price that was shared by His Most Blessed Mother as she stood so valiantly under It. We do need to be afraid of any virus. We need only to understand that sin is more deadly than any virus, that one Mortal Sin could, if left unrepented and unabsolved, lead us to hell for all eternity if we were unfortunate enough to die in its stench. We must accept suffering as the price of our salvation and offer it up to the Throne of the Most Blessed Trinity as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Father Benedict Baur, O.S.B., explained how deeply we must always unite ourselves to Our Lord's sufferings:

Christ and His members must be one. They must walk the same road, not only during the liturgical service, when they are lifted up together in the mysteries of the sacrifice, but also in every event of life. Christ welcomed suffering, and accepted it freely; He did not flee the hardships of life. He makes suffering in us, His members, serve the spirit; He uses it as a means of freeing us from the world and all that is temporal and thus raises us from things of his world to the thins that are eternal.

Now, during Passiontide, we must begin to live and treasure pain and suffering. In the cross, in suffering, in or crucifixion with Christ, we shall find salvation. For Him and with Him we should bear all the slight injustices committed against us. For Him we should suffer freely and willingly the unpleasant and disagreeable things that occur to us. But our faith is weak. We flee from from the cross instead of holding it dear, instead of loving it and welcoming it our as Savior did.  (Father Benedict Baur, O.S.B., The Light of the World, Volume I, B. Herder Book Company, 1954, p. 595.)

Father Leen made a similar point in the conclusion of Why The Cross?

Why God should have decreed that the obedience of His Son should be expressed through the awful sufferings of the Passion, when it might have been expressed in a ritual act involving no such pain, is a secret of His inscrutable designs. All we can now is that the sacrifice of Calvary was decreed out of a merciful regard for man.

St. Thomas, while not pretending to solve this great mystery of pain, shows how, practically, the dreadful sufferings of Christ on Calvary aid man to profit by the salvation that these sufferings have merited for him. He points out that, though from the very beginning of His conception Jesus merited the divine life of grace for men, yet their remained obstacles to their profiting to the grace so won for them. The Passion was directed toward the removal of those obstacles.

Calvary brings home to men in a vivid way the great gravity of sin and the terrible tribulation that awaits it. The Passion, bringing home to the imagination, as well as to the mind, the loathsomeness of sin and the chastisement that it merits, act as a powerful deterred from evil. Calvary, by its example, encourages that heroism which is often demanded of men if they are to prove faithful to God in times of great trial and temptation. Above all, it moves men to the love of God, Who, in surrendering Himself to death on their account, gives such a convincing proof of His love for them. Love is, in final account, the great force in life, for love alone can inspire that sacrifice which is the price of unwavering fidelity to the Lord.

Every Christian who proves himself faithful in his vocation will deduce form his own experience the wisdom of the divine decree. He will learn by practical experience that it is only through contemplating with faith the sufferings of the Man-God that he nerves himself to abide in obedience to the Lord in spite of the hardships that such obedience so frequently entails. In a world that is ever at with Christ and His ideals, there is a constant call for heroism if one is to persevere to the end in loyalty to God. The Cross, is for the Christian, the standard that rouses his courage to withstand bravely the assault of the consequences with Christ, risen from the dead, “to walk in newness of life.”

Christ has traced for the Christian the path he most follow if he is to achieve himself and conquer happiness.

The life of Christ on earth was a career of conquest, closing in on the magnificent triumph of entry into heaven on the day of the Ascension. The Christian who wishes to share in Christ’s victory must be prepared to take active part in Christ’s struggle. He must, in other words, display, in conflict with the adverse forces within and without himself, the moral and spiritual qualities of his Leader.

The great obstacles to final success in this welfare of the spirit are the concupiscence of the flesh, the concupiscence of the eyes, and the pride of life. If the Christian is to cleave his way to the peace that surpasseth all understanding, and the happiness which such peace gives, the concupsicences must be beaten down and reduced to a state of impotence. The poverty, chastity, and obedience of Christ are he weapons with which this result is achieved. These are the moral qualities of which Christ’s life was the sustained expression.

The Christian will catch a reflection of Christ’s noble distinction if he emulates Christ’s grand independence of men and things. His contempt for purely fictitious glory, and His utter disregard for any honor except that which comes of God’s approval bestowed on a man’s life and actions. He will capture something of Christ’s moral grandeur if, reproducing something of Christ’s chastity, he attains to that majesty of spirit over matter which leaves the will free to expand in the purest love for God and man. He will clothe himself with a measure of Christ’s serene sovereignty if, acquiring Christ’s humility, he brings his nature to its highest in harmonizing it completely with the mind and will of its Creator and Sovereign Lord. In this lies the achievement of perfect truth: through this the Christian attains the excellence that comes of the flawless realization of the divine ideal of manhood. Undeniably, all this involves bitter suffering for man’s fallen nature, but the follower of Christ must be ready to sacrifice with Him if he wishes ‘to be glorified with Him.’ (Father Edward Leen, S.J., Why the Cross?, originally published by Sheed & Ward in 1938, and republished in 2001 by Scepter Publishers, Princeton, New Jersey,  pp. 310-312.)

While death will come to us all at time that God has appointed for us from all eternity, we must be willing to suffer until the time of a true natural death, not one defined by the merchants of death, in a world of escapism that has rejected the necessity of redemptive suffering. We must be well-prepared to make a good death, which can occur at any time, of course, and to ready to make a good Confession of our sins to a true priest if God has granted us the grace to be conscious, alert and in full control of our rational ability to do so, something for which we must beg Our Lady every day. A lifetime of embracing suffering by uniting it to the Cross of the Divine Redeemer as a member of His true Church is the only path to prepare as adequately as possible for the fearful moment of the Particular Judgment that will be rendered to us by Christ the King, our Divine Judge.

Protestantism has created a Christianity without the Cross. Judeo-Masonry has created a world without Christianity. The end result must be slavery to the "professionals" in a world of unspeakable savagery, and it is with that world of unspeakable savagery that Jorge Mario Bergoglio has made his own "official reconciliation" by forging a mutual alliance with Geroge Soros to advance the forces of spiritual and physical death.

Father Robert Mader offered words of great inspiration ninety years ago in the very country, Germany, where Bishop Clemens von Galen was to preach against the Hitlerian practices of eugenics, which involved the killing off of the feeble in body and in mind, most of which had originated during the Weimar Republic in the 1920s, that have become accepted as normal and nature in the "developed" world at this time, including here in the United States of America:

Following the destruction of Jerusalem, the Romans covered the places of hallowed memory to he Christian with rubble. The cave of the Holy Sepulchre was buried under such rubble, and over as well Golgotha pagan images and temples were erected in honor of Venus and Jupiter. For this reason the Christians did not go there anymore, in order not to be mistaken for idol-worshippers. Emperor Constantine ordered the temples and images torn down and the rubble carried away. After long and hard work the cave of the Holy Sepulchre was found. Not found away three crosses with nails were discovered, and along with them the superscription, which, however, lay separate from the cross.

Without doubt one of the these must be the Cross of the Savior, but there was no certain sign that would differentiate it from the crosses of the two thieves. This was given when a mortally il woman was suddenly cured by touching the true Cross. The Holy Cross was then encased in silver and precious gems, and a church was built over it, which according to Emperor Constantine's order was to be more magnificent than anything ever seen before. In memory of these events, the Church recalls the Finding of the Most Holy Cross on May 3, in order that on every day until the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross (September 14), land and people with be blessed with a splinter, a particle of the Cross.

We have every reason to remember these events. Christianity is the religion of the Crucified One. In his first letter to the Corinthians the Apostle of the Nations, St. Paul, declares: "For I judged not myself to know anything among you, but Jesus Christ, and him crucified (1 Cor. 2:2). St. Paul's preaching, no matter how many-sided it appears, always returns to the central Sun of Christendom: Jesus on the Cross, King of the World! Everything else is either a ray from this Sun, or it is nothing. In the Crucifix lies our entire dogmatic and moral theology, our entire teaching on faith and morals, our catechism. The Cross is our library. Every other book has value only inasmuch as the spirit of the Cross speaks in it.

Modernists have attempted to ban the old preaching of St. Paul, the Gospel of the Cross, to oblivion. The Cross means the teaching of the necessity of sacrifice and of grace, and this now lies under the rubble on which a new paganism has erected once again the pagan images and temples of Jupiter, Mercury, Venus and Bacchus--in other words, the absolutist state, capitalism, immorality, and addiction to pleasure. A certain superficial Christianity, which puts more value on being modern than on being Catholic and Biblical, and for which the imitation of the spirit of the times is more understandable than the imitation of Christ, has made itself a willing accomplice.

We have lost the Cross. We have a Christianity that no longer understands sacrifice and there is no Christianity or only a soulless version of Christianity. We need Constantines and Helens who will once again dig out the the Cross from under the rubble and make it their shrine and their sign, and who believe that the King's throne is the Cross.

The crucified King! In the family we must have a Finding of the the Most Holy Cross! The modern family has lost the crucifix, and in its place it has raised up the political hero, the artist, old pagan gods, nudity and the prostitute. The crucifix does not fit into the modern home. The modern living room preaches money-grabbing, pride, vanity, lasciviousness, laziness. The modern living room is the exaltation of the seven deadly sins. At least one is honest enough to feel the Cross no longer fits into this milieu and has got rid of it because in the long run the crucifix can only remain there where the spirit of the Crucified One remains, and the spirit of the Crucified is no longer there.

The spirit of the Crucified is the spirit of love and sacrifice, but the spirit of the modern family is the spirit of selfishness and enjoyment. The speech of the Crucified says: First the others, I come last! The speech of selfishness is: First I, then again I, the others come last! The Christian family is built on the notion of sacrifice and devotion. The concept of the Christian father is: Work from morning to evening for others. The concept of the Christian mother is: Care for others! Let the self always come last! The concept of the Christian child is: Respect, love, obedience. Father and mother first, only then I!

The notion of sacrifice is dying out in the modern family. The modern family is built upon the law of egotism. The modern family takes as its motto: "As much enjoyment and as little sacrifice as possible!" This is the source of Malthusianism. That is where characterless education comes from. And that is the doom of the family. Only the Cross and its sermon of self-discipline, self-denial and devotion can save the dying family. (Father Robert Mader, Cross and the Crown, edited and translated by Dr. Eileen Kunze, Sarto House, 1999, pp. 117-119.)

The myth of “brain death” and the practices of the modern "palliative care" industry are founded upon a rejection of the Holy Cross. So is most of modern medicine, especially for the chronically or terminally ill. We must embrace the Holy Cross of the Divine Redeemer, Christ the King, not flee from It, the very instrument of our salvation. It is only the Cross of the Divine Redeemer that is the true standard of human liberty, a liberty which seeks to please God in all things as He has revealed Himself to us through His Holy Church, a liberty which seeks to scale the heights of sanctity and to flee from even the whiff of sin, including the impurity, indecency, immodesty, and utter naturalism of a world drunk on one Judeo-Masonic myth of secular salvation after another.

On the Feast of Saint Paul the First Hermit

Today is the Feast of Saint Paul the First Hermit and the Commemoration of Saint Maurus, the very first disciple of Saint Benedict of Nursia.

Saint Paul the First Hermit sought to escape the business of the world to focus entirely on the things of Heaven, finding an intimacy with the Divine Redeemer that led him to embrace all manner of austere fasting and penances to more closely conform himself to Him and His Holy Passion.

Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B., provided a detailed hagiography of Saint Paul in The Liturgical Year:

Today, the Church honours the memory of one of those men, who were expressly chosen by God to represent the sublime detachment from all things, which was taught to the world by the example of the Son of God, born in a Cave, at Bethlehem. Paul the Hermit so prized the poverty of his Divine Master, that he fled to the desert, where he could find nothing to possess and nothing to covet. He had a mere cavern for his dwelling; a palm-tree provided him with food and clothing; a fountain gave him wherewith to quench his thirst; and heaven sent him his only luxury, a loaf of bread brought to him daily by a crow. For sixty years did Paul thus serve, in poverty, and in solitude, that God, who was denied a dwelling on the earth He came to redeem, and could have but a poor Stable wherein to be born.

But God dwelt with Paul in his cavern; and in him began the Anchorites, that sublime race of men, who, the better to enjoy the company of their God, denied themselves, not only the society, but the very right, of men. They were the Angels of earth, in whom God showed forth, for the instruction of the rest of men, that he is powerful enough, and rich enough, to supply the wants of his creatures, who, indeed, have nothing but what they have from Him. The Hermit, or Anchoret, is a prodigy in the Church, and it behoves us to glorify the God who has produced it. We ought to be filled with astonishment and gratitude, at seeing how the Mystery of a God made Flesh has so elevated our human nature, as to inspire a contempt and abandonment of those earthly goods, which heretofore had been so eagerly sought after.

The two names, Paul and Antony, are not to be separated; they are the two Apostles of the Desert; both are Fathers--Paul of Anchorites, and Antony of Cenobites; the two families are sisters, and both have the same source, the Mystery of Bethlehem. The sacred Cycle of the Church's year unites, with only a day between their two Feasts, these two faithful disciples of Jesus in his Crib.

The Church reads in her Office, the following abridgment of St . Paul's wonderful Life.

Paul, the institutor and master of Hermits, was born in Lower Thebais. He lost his parents when he was fifteen years of age. Not long after that, in order to escape the persecution of Decius and Valerian, and to serve God the more freely, he withdrew into the desert, where he made a cave his dwelling. A palmtree afforded him food and raiment, and there he lived to the age of a hundred and thirteen. About that time, he received a visit from Antony, who was ninety-years old. God bade him visit Paul. The two Saints, though they had not previously known each other, saluted each other by their names. Whilst holding a long conversation on the kingdom of God, a crow, which every day brought half a loaf of bread, carried them a whole one. When the crowhad left them, Paul said: "See! our truly good and truly merciful Lord has sent us our repast. For sixty years, I have daily received a half loaf; now, because thou art come to see me, Christ has doubled the portion for his soldiers."

Wherefore, they sat near the fountain, and, giving thanks, they eat the bread; and when they were refreshed, they again returned the accustomed thanks to God, and spent the night in the divine praises. At daybreak, Paul tells Antony of his approaching death, and begs him go and bring the cloak, which Athanasius had given him, and wrap his corpse in it. As Antony was returning from his cell, he saw Paul's soul going up into heaven, amidst choirs of Angels, and a throng of Prophets and Apostles.

When he had reached the hermit's cell, he found the lifeless body: the knees were bent, the head erect, and the hands stretched out and raised towards heaven. He wrapped it in the cloak, and sang hymns and psalms over it, according to the custom prescribed by Christian tradition. Not having a hoe wherewith to make a grave, two lions came at a rapid pace from the interior of the desert, and stood over the body of the venerable Saint, showing how, in their own way, they lamented his death. They began to tear up the earth with their feet, and seemed to strive to outdo each other in the work, until they had made a hole large enough to receive the body of a man. When they had gone, Antony carried the holy corpse to the place, and covering it with the soil, he arranged the grave after the manner of the Christians. As to the tunic, which Paul had woven for himself out of palm-leaves, as baskets are usually made, Antony took it away with him, and, as long as he lived, wore it on the great days of Easter and Pentecost. (From Matins, Divine Office, Feast of Saint Paul the First Hermit.)

Father and Prince of Hermits! thou art now contemplating in all his glory that God, whose weakness and lowliness thou didst study and imitate during the sixty years of thy desert-life: thou art now with him in the eternal union of the Vision. Instead of thy cavern, where thou didst spend thy life of unknown penance, thou hast the immensity of the heavens for thy dwelling; instead of thy tunic of palm-leaves, thou hast the robe of Light; instead of the pittance of material bread, thou hast the Bread of eternal life; instead of thy humble fountain, thou hast the waters which spring up to eternity, filling thy soul with infinite delights. Thou didst imitate the silence of the Babe of Bethlehem by thy holy life of seclusion; now, thy tongue is for ever singing the praises of this God, and the music of infinite bliss is for ever falling on thine ear. Thou didst not know this world of ours, save by its deserts; but now, thou must compassionate and pray for us who live in it; speak for us to our dear Jesus; remind Him how He visited it in wonderful mercy and love; pray his sweet blessing upon us, and the graces of perfect detachment from transitory things, love of poverty, love of prayer, and love of our heavenly country. (Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B., The Liturgical Year, Feast of Saint Paul the First Hermit, January 15.)

We must imitate the virtues of Saint Paul the First Hermit and retreat, as far as is possible given the duties from our state-in-life, from the distractions of the world and to long for the glories of Heaven as we meditate upon the Sacred Mysteries of our Redemption.

We have not here a permanent dwelling. The madness of a world gone mad without Christ the King is not going to end no matter who is elected as president of the United States of America on November 5, 2024, which is why we must turn to Our Lady of Prompt Succor on this her feast day.

Our Lady came to the aid of Catholics in New Orleans during the Battle of New Orleans, fought about six weeks after the signing of the Treaty of Ghent that ended the War of 1812 between the United Kingdom and the United States of America, on January 8, 1815. Our Lady came to the aid of the forces of Colonel Andrew Jackson, a wretched demagogue of a man who was a partisan of the principles of the French Revolution and a Freemason who did not have a particularly high regard for Catholics prior to this time—and who always had contempt for the American Indians, as he defended the City of New Orleans from the British onslaught while Catholics prayed Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary before the miraculous statue of Our Lady of Prompt Succor. Prayers to Our Lady of Prompt Succor had saved the Ursuline Convent in New Orleans a few years before.

Andrew Jackson, however, never converted to the Faith, remaining true to his "republican" principles to the end of his life. He witnessed a miracle but was unmoved to convert to the Faith whose adherents had prayed for him to turn back the British military onslaught.

It must not be that way with us. We must cooperate with the graces that Our Lady showers upon us to change us so that we can plant the seeds for the conversion of our nation to the true Faith. As I have noted before, it may not be within the Providence of God for such a conversion to occur. We must, however, do our work to this end as this is what is expected of us. True patriotism wills the good of one's nation, the ultimate expression of which is her Catholicization in every aspect of her social life and public policies without any exception whatsoever. Our Lady is the Heavenly aid sent us to by her Divine Son to help us in this regard. Why do we not trust in her serenely rather than worrying about the outcome of fraudulent elections that are contested by men and women who hold, no matter how sincerely, ideas that are inimical to the eternal good of souls and thus to the temporal order itself?

You want real change in your own soul and in our nation?

Pray the Rosary faithfully and fervently and offer up everything in your daily life to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through her own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart as we fulfill her Fatima Message in our own homes, enthroned as they should be to those same Twin Hearts of matchless Love.

Our Lady wants her Divine Son to reign as the King of the United States of America and of all nations. The model for civil rule is not to be found amongst the likes of statists or conservatives or liberals or socialists or communists or libertarians. The model for civil rule is given us by Saint Louis IX, King of France, who wrote the following to his son, the future King Philip III:

31. Dear son, I advise you always to be devoted to the Church of Rome, and to the sovereign pontiff, our father, and to bear him the the reverence and honor which you owe to your spiritual father.

32. Dear son, freely give power to persons of good character, who know how to use it well, and strive to have wickednesses expelled from your land, that is to say, nasty oaths, and everything said or done against God or our Lady or the saints. In a wise and proper manner put a stop, in your land, to bodily sins, dicing, taverns, and other sins. Put down heresy so far as you can, and hold in especial abhorrence Jews, and all sorts of people who are hostile to the Faith, so that your land may be well purged of them, in such manner as, by the sage counsel of good people, may appear to you advisable.

33. Further the right with all your strength. Moreover I admonish you you that you strive most earnestly to show your gratitude for the benefits which our Lord has bestowed upon you, and that you may know how to give Him thanks therefore

34. Dear son, take care that the expenses of your household are reasonable and moderate, and that its moneys are justly obtained. And there is one opinion that I deeply wish you to entertain, that is to say, that you keep yourself free from foolish expenses and evil exactions, and that your money should be well expended and well acquired. And this opinion, together with other opinions which are suitable and profitable, I pray that our Lord may teach you.

35. Finally, most sweet son, I conjure and require you that, if it please our Lord that I should die before you, you have my soul succored with masses and orisons, and that you send through the congregations of the kingdom of France, and demand their prayers for my soul, and that you grant me a special and full part in all the good deeds which you perform.

36. In conclusion, dear son, I give you all the blessings which a good and tender father can give to a son, and I pray our Lord Jesus Christ, by His mercy, by the prayers and merits of His blessed Mother, the Virgin Mary, and of angels and archangels and of all the saints, to guard and protect you from doing anything contrary to His will, and to give you grace to do it always, so that He may be honored and served by you. And this may He do to me as to you, by His great bounty, so that after this mortal life we may be able to be together with Him in the eternal life, and see Him, love Him, and praise Him without end. Amen. And glory, honor, and praise be to Him who is one God with the Father and the Holy Spirit; without beginning and without end. Amen. (From Saint Louis' Advice to His Son, in Medieval Civilization, trans. and eds. Dana Munro and George Clarke Sellerym New York: The Century Company, 1910, pp. 366-375.)

Such a ruler is not produced by the electoral process in a pluralistic nation founded on false premises. (Gabriel Garcia Moreno in Ecuador in the Nineteenth Century, a great champion of Christ the King, emerged as an elected leader in Catholic nation, but was hated by the Masons and paid for his fidelity to the Faith with his very life.) We must pray to Our Lady, especially through her Most Holy Rosary for the day when all men will led by the likes of Saint Louis IX and will be able to make our own these words of Father Benedict Baur, O.S.B., contained in his The Light of the World:

The feat of the Epiphany is and should be a feast which is celebrated in honor of Christ the divine King. We pay our homage to Him by our prayers and by our celebration of the liturgy, which we share with the Church in heaven and on earth. We pay homage to Him by submitting our intelligence to faith, to His words, to His teachings, to His gospel, to His Church and its dogmas. And even if all others were to desert Him, yet we should remain true to Him and cry out with St. Peter, "Thou has the words of eternal life" (John 7:69). We honor Him by subjecting our wills to His ordinances and commands, to His sacraments, and to His Church. "He that hath My commandments and keepeth them; he it is that loveth Me" (John 14:21). "He that heareth you [the Church], heareth Me; and he that despiseth you, despiseth Me" (Luke 10:16). We pay homage to Him by subjecting ourselves to His operation in us. We honor Him by our resignation and subjection in afflictions and humiliations, by our inner purification and mortifications, and by the duties and obligations of our everyday life. We glorify Him by not attributing to ourselves, to our own good will, to our own efforts or strength, the good works which we perform. With the Apostle we humbly acknowledge, "For it is God who worketh in you both to will and to accomplish, according to His own good will" (Phil. 2:13). With grateful hearts we cry out, "Not to us, O lord, not to us; but to Thy name give glory" (Ps. 113:1) We honor Him by applying to our lives the admonition of the Epistle of today's Mass: by making our bodies and souls a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing to God. We glorify Him if we transform ourselves by His spirit and shape our lives according to the pattern He has given us, doing only that which is in accord with the will of God and is perfect and pleasing to Him, living in union with Holy Mother the Church.

Christ is King. That is the theme of the feast of Epiphany. "And we saw His glory, the glory as it were of the only-begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth" (John 1:14). This glory Christ has won through His victory on the cross. For this reason neither the Church nor the members of the mystical body can achieve glory without a sacrifice and a cross. "Ought not Christ to have suffered these thins and so to enter into His glory? (Luke 24:26).

Therefore we bring our bodies and all that we possess sand present them as an offering on the altar. With Stephen we share the passion of Christ, and thus we go to attain our glory in the Offertory, in the Consecration, and in Holy Communion.

We are to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing to God, on the altar. This we are to do not only at the time of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, but at every hour of the day and in the ordinary affairs of everyday life. We must not be conformed to the manner of this world, but we must reform ourselves through the renewal of our spirit. We are thus to prove what is the good and the acceptable, the perfect will of God. We are to live in the consciousness that all of us together form one living organism, the body of Christ (in the community of the Church), and that we are members of one another and of Christ our Lord (Epistle). We live the life of the whole, the life of the community, the life of the mystical body of Christ. That is the Lord's command. "This is My commandment: that you love one another as I have loved you" (John 15:12).

May Christ be King of my whole being, of my thoughts, my will, my affections and of my desires. May His will be done in all things. This is my ambition when I celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass with Him today. I consecrate myself to Him, and through Him and in Him I consecrate myself to the Father. (Father Benedict Baur, O.S.B., The Light of the World, B. Herder Book Company, St. Louis, Missouri, 1953, pp. 146-148.)

Our Lady wants her Divine Son to reign as the King of all nations, including the United States of America. Do you? If you do then how can you reconcile a belief in fraudulent elections, which have changed nothing the days of Orestes Brownson in 1846, with Silvio Cardinal Antoniano's reminder that it is impossible to produce true temporal peace and tranquility by things repugnant to the peace and happiness of eternity?

The more closely the temporal power of a nation aligns itself with the spiritual, and the more it fosters and promotes the latter, by so much the more it contributes to the conservation of the commonwealth. For it is the aim of the ecclesiastical authority by the use of spiritual means, to form good Christians in accordance with its own particular end and object; and in doing this it helps at the same time to form good citizens, and prepares them to meet their obligations as members of a civil society. This follows of necessity because in the City of God, the Holy Roman Catholic Church, a good citizen and an upright man are absolutely one and the same thing. How grave therefore is the error of those who separate things so closely united, and who think that they can produce good citizens by ways and methods other than those which make for the formation of good Christians. For, let human prudence say what it likes and reason as it pleases, it is impossible to produce true temporal peace and tranquillity by things repugnant or opposed to the peace and happiness of eternity. (Silvio Cardinal Antoniano, quoted by Pope Pius XI in Divini Illius Magistri, December 31, 1929.)

May Our Lady help us to be champions of Christ the King and to recognize that the world in which we live is full of evils, greater and lesser, to which we must make no more compromises and concessions than we have already as a result of our many sins, for which we must be sorry and to seek to do penance until we meet Christ the King, our Supreme Judge, at the moment of our Particular Judgments.

Appendix

Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B., on the Feast of Saint Maurus the Abbot

Saint Maurus—one of the greatest masters of the Cenobitical Life, and the most illustrious of the Disciples of St. Benedict, the Patriarch of the Monks of the West—shares with the First Hermit the honours of this fifteenth day of January. Faithful, like the holy Hermit, to the lessons taught at Bethlehem, Maurus has a claim to have his Feast kept during the forty days, which are sacred to the sweet Babe Jesus. He comes to us each January to bear witness to the power of that Babe’s humility. Who, forsooth, will dare to doubt of the triumphant power of the Poverty, and the obedience shown in the Crib of our Emmanuel, when he is told of the grand things done by those virtues in the Cloisters of Fair France?

It was to Maurus that France was indebted for the introduction into her territory of that admirable Rule, which produced the great Saints, and the great Men, to whom she owes the best part of her glory. The children of St. Benedict, by St. Maurus, struggled against the barbarism of the Franks, under the first race of her kings; under the second, they instructed, in sacred and profane literature, the people, in whose civilization they had so powerfully co-operated; under the third—and even in modern times, when the Benedictine Order, enslaved by the system of Commendatory-Abbots, and decimated by political tyranny or violence, was dying out amidst every kind of humiliation—they were the fathers of the poor by the charitable use of their large possessions, and the ornaments of literature and science by their immense contributions to ecclesiastical science and archaeology, as also to the history of their own country.

St. Maurus built his celebrated Monastery of Glanfeuil, and Glanfeuil may be considered as the mother house of the principal Monasteries in France, Saint Germain and Saint Denis of Paris, Marmoutier, Saint Victor, Luxeuil, Jumieges, Fleury Corbie, Saint Vannes, Moyen-Moutier, Saint Wandrille, Saint Waast, La Chaise-Dieu, Tiron, Cheza, Benoit, Le Bec, and innumerable other Monasteries in France gloried in being daughters of Monte-Cassino by the favourite Disciple of St. Benedict. Cluny, which gave several Popes to the Church—and among them, St. Gregory the Seventh, and Urban the Second—was indebted to St. Maurus for that Rule, which gave her her glory and her power. We must count up the Apostles, Martyrs, Bishops, Doctors, Confessors, and Virgins, who were formed, for twelve hundred years, in the Benedictine Cloisters of France; we must calculate the services, both temporal and spiritual, done to this great country by the Benedictine Monks, during all that period; and we shall have some idea of the results produced by the mission of St. Maurus—results, whose whole glory redounds to the Babe of Bethlehem, and to the mysteries of his humility, which are the source and model of the Monastic Life. When, therefore, we admire the greatness of the Saints, and recount their wonderful works, we are glorifying our Jesus, the King of all Saints.

The Monastic Breviary, in the Office of this Feast, gives us the following sketch of the Life of St. Maurus.

Maurus was by birth a Roman. His father, whose name was Eutychius, and a Senator by rank, had placed him, when a little boy, under the care of St. Benedict. Trained in the school of such and so great a Master of holiness, he attained to the highest degree of monastic perfection, even before he had ceased to be a child; so that Benedict himself was in admiration, and used to speak of his virtues to every one, holding him forth to the rest of the house as a model of religious discipline. He subdued his flesh by austerities, such as the wearing a hair-shirt, night watching, and frequent fasting; giving, meanwhile, to his spirit the solace of assiduous prayer, holy compunction, and reading the Sacred Scriptures. During Lent, he took food but twice in the week, and that so sparingly, as to seem rather to be tasting than taking it. He slept standing, or, when excessive fatigue obliged him to it, sitting, or, at times, lying down on a heap of lime and sand, over which he threw his hair-shirt. His sleep was exceedingly short, for he always recited very long prayers, and often the whole of the Psalms, before the midnight Office.

He gave a proof of his admirable spirit of obedience on the occasion of Placid’s having fallen into the lake, and being nearly drowned. Maurus, at the bidding of the Holy Father, ran to the lake, walked dry-shod upon the water, and, taking the child by the hair of his head, drew him safe to the bank; for Placid was to be slain by the sword as a martyr, and our Lord reserved him as a victim, which should be offered to him. On account of such signal virtues as these, the same Holy Father made Maurus share the cares of his duties; for, from his very entrance into the monastic life, he had had a part in his miracles. He had been raised to the holy order of Deaconship by St. Benedict’s command; and by placing the stole he wore on a dumb and lame boy, he gave him the power both to speak and walk.

Maurus was sent by his Holy Father into France. Scarcely had he set his foot on that land, than he had a vision of the triumphant entrance of that great saint into heaven. He promulgated in that country the Rule which St. Benedict had written with his own hand, and had given to him on his leaving Italy; though the labour and anxiety he had to go through in the accomplishment of his mission, were exceedingly great. Having built the celebrated Monastery, which he governed for forty years, so great was the reputation of his virtues, that several of the , noblest lords of King Theodobert’s court put themselves under Maurus’ direction, and enrolled in the holier and more meritorious warfare of the monastic life.

Two years before his death, he resigned the government of his Monastery, and retired into a cell near the Oratory of St. Martin. There he exercised himself in most rigorous penance, wherewith he fortified himself for the contest he had to sustain against the enemy of mankind, who threatened him with the death of his Monks. In this combat a holy Angel was his comforter, who, after revealing to him the snares of the wicked spirit, and the designs of God, bade him and his disciples win the crown prepared for them. Having, therefore, sent to heaven before him, as so many forerunners, a hundred and more of his brave soldiers, and knowing that he, their leader, was soon to follow them, he signified his wish to be carried to the Oratory, where, being strengthened by the Sacrament of Life, and lying on his hair-shirt, as a victim before the Altar, he died a saintly death. He was upwards of seventy years of age. It would be difficult to describe the success wherewith he propagated Monastic discipline in France, or to tell the miracles which, both before and after his death, rendered him glorious among men.

How blessed was thy Mission, O favourite and worthy disciple of the great Saint Benedict! How innumerable the Saints that sprang from thee and thy illustrious Patriarch! The Rule thou didst promulgate, was truly the salvation of that great country which thou and thy disciples evangelised; and the fruits of the Order thou didst plant there, have been indeed abundant. But now that from thy throne in heaven thou beholdest that fair France, which was once covered with Monasteries, and from which there mounted up to God the ceaseless voice of prayer and praise, and now thou scarce findest the ruins of these noble Sanctuaries—dost thou not turn towards our Lord, and beseech him that he make the wilderness bloom once more as of old? Oh! what has become of those Cloisters, wherein were trained Apostles of Nations, learned Pontiffs, intrepid defenders of the Liberty of the Church, holy Doctors and heroes of sanctity—all of whom call thee their second Father? Who will bring back again those vigorous principles of poverty, obedience, hard work, and penance, which made the Monastic Life be the object of the people’s admiration and love, and attracted tens of thousands of every class in society to embrace it? Instead of this holy enthusiasm of the ages of faith, we, alas! can show little else than cowardice of heart, love of this life, zeal for enjoyment, dread of the cross, and, at best, comfortable and inactive piety. Pray, great Saint! that these days may be shortened; that the christians of the present generation may grow earnest by reflecting on the sanctity to which they are called; that our sluggish hearts may put on the fortitude of knowing and doing, at least, our duty. Then, indeed, will the future glories of the Church be as great and bright as our love of her makes us picture them to ourselves—for, all the Church needs in order to fulfil her destinies, is courageous hearts. Oh! if our God hear thy prayer, and give us once more the Monastic Life in all its purity and vigour,—we shall be safe, and the evil of faith without earnestness, which is now producing such havoc in the spiritual world, will be replaced by christian energy. Teach us, O Maurus! to know the dear Babe of Bethlehem, and to get well into our hearts his life and doctrine; for we shall then understand the greatness of our christian vocation, and that the only way to overcome our enemy the world, is that which He, our Master and Guide, followed. (Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B., The Liturgical Year, Feast of Saint Maurus, Abbot, January 15.)
