There Are Laws and There Are Laws
The devil is a mocker and a scorner. He is also the proto-revolutionary as it was the rebellion he fomented against God in Heaven that caused many angels to follow him in making an irrevocable choice to hate God for all eternity. The first revolutionary was described as follows by Saint John the Evangelist in The Book of the Apocalypse:
[7] And there was a great battle in heaven, Michael and his angels fought with the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels:[8] And they prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven. [9] And that great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, who seduceth the whole world; and he was cast unto the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. (Apocalypse 12: 7-9.)
As has been noted on this site repeatedly, the adversary hates the zenith of God’s creative handiwork, man, because man has a rational, immortal soul that is made in the very image and likeness of the Most Blessed Trinity. Knowing that his own revolution against God failed, the old serpent wants to wreak as much damage as possible by inciting men to hate God and thus to hate each other in order to create chaos on earth as the means to taking countless numbers of souls down with him into hell for all eternity.
The adversary’s role as the first revolutionary or radical was noted by one his many minions in the Twentieth Century, Saul Alinsky, in Rules for Radicals:
Opening page - Dedication
“Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history... the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer.”
"An organizer must stir up dissatisfaction and discontent... He must create a mechanism that can drain off the underlying guilt for having accepted the previous situation for so long a time. Out of this mechanism, a new community organization arises....
"The job then is getting the people to move, to act, to participate; in short, to develop and harness the necessary power to effectively conflict with the prevailing patterns and change them. When those prominent in the status quo turn and label you an 'agitator' they are completely correct, for that is, in one word, your function—to agitate to the point of conflict." p.117
11. "If you push a negative hard and deep enough, it will break through into its counterside... every positive has its negative."
12. "The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative."
13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. In conflict tactics there are certain rules that [should be regarded] as universalities. One is that the opposition must be singled out as the target and 'frozen.'...
"...any target can always say, 'Why do you center on me when there are others to blame as well?' When your 'freeze the target,' you disregard these [rational but distracting] arguments.... Then, as you zero in and freeze your target and carry out your attack, all the 'others' come out of the woodwork very soon. They become visible by their support of the target...'
"One acts decisively only in the conviction that all the angels are on one side and all the devils on the other." (Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals.)
Alinsky, a willing tool of the devil, thus identified how the adversary seeks to agitate men into hating the “other side.” This is the defining characteristic of all revolutions as each has been based in what can be called the “ideology of hatred,” starting with a fundamental hatred of God and all that He has revealed to us through His true Church.
Martin Luther, for example, came to hate the very means of his salvation, the Catholic Church, after he had fallen prey to the tempter’s deceptions to persist in his wanton sins of lechery, gluttony, and drunkenness. One can see clearly that Jorge Mario Bergoglio’s reaffirmation of hardened sinners in their lives of perdition is one of the many reasons that he, an agent of the devil in his own wicked right, praises Martin Luther so much.
The French Revolution, which started on July 14, 1789, was an open and undisguised revolution against God and all preexisting social order, resulting in the triumph of “Man” and his supposed “rights,” something that Father Denis Fahey, C.S. Sp., noted in The Mystical City of God in the Modern World:
By the grace of the Headship of the Mystical Body, our Lord Jesus Christ is both Priest and King of redeemed mankind and, as such, exercises a twofold influence upon us. Firstly, as a Priest, He communicates to us the supernatural life of grace by which we, while ever remaining distinct from God, can enter into the vision and love of the Blessed Trinity. We can thus become one with God, not, of course, in the order of substance or being, but in the order of operation, of the immaterial union of vision and love. The Divine Nature is the principle of the Divine Vision and Love, and by grace we are ‘made partakers of the Divine Nature.’ This pure Catholic doctrine is infinitely removed from Masonic pantheism. Secondly, as King, our Lord exercises an exterior influence on us by His government of us. As King, He guides and directs us socially and individually, in order to dispose all things for the reception of the Supernatural Life which He, as Priest, confers.
Society had been organized in the thirteenth century and even down to the sixteenth, under the banner of Christ the King. Thus, in spite of deficiencies and imperfections, man’s divinization, through the Life that comes from the sacred Humanity of Jesus, was socially favoured. Modern society, under the influence of Satan, was to be organized on the opposite principle, namely, that human nature is of itself divine, that man is God, and, therefore, subject to nobody. Accordingly, when the favourable moment had arrived, the Masonic divnization of human nature found its expression in the Declaration of the Rights of Man in 1789. The French Revolution ushered in the struggle for the complete organization of the world around the new divinity–Humanity. In God’s plan, the whole organization of a country is meant to aid the development of a country is meant to aid the development of the true personality of the citizens through the Mystical Body of Christ. Accordingly, the achievement of true liberty for a country means the removal of obstacles to the organized social acceptance of the Divine Plan. Every revolution since 1789 tends, on the contrary, to the rejection of that plan, and therefore to the enthronement of man in the place of God. The freedom at which the spirit of the revolution aims is that absolute independence which refuses submission to any and every order. It is the spirit breathed by the temptation of the serpent: ‘For God doth know that in what day soever you shall eat thereof, your eyes shall be opened; and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.’ Man decided then that he would himself lay down the order of good and evil in the place of God; then and now it is the same attitude. (Father Denis Fahey, The Mystical Body of Christ in the Modern World, p. 27.)
Although Holy Mother Church accommodates herself to the concrete realities in which her children live, she makes no concession to errors that have resulted in the triumph of religious indifferentism and overt hostility to the true Faith.
Yet it is, of course, that the lords of conciliarism made their "official reconciliation" with the principles of the "new era inaugurated in 1789 at the "Second" Vatican Council by means of Gaudium et Spes and Digntatis Humanae, December 7, 1965. None other than that great "restorer of tradition," Joseph Alois Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, told us so in his very misnamed Principles of Catholic Theology:
Let us be content to say here that the text serves as a countersyllabus and, as such, represents on the part of the Church, an attempt at an official reconciliation with the new era inaugurated in 1789. Only from this perspective can we understand, on the one hand, the ghetto-mentality, of which we have spoken above; only from this perspective can we understand, on the other hand, the meaning of the remarkable meeting of the Church and the world. Basically, the word "world" means the spirit of the modern era, in contrast to which the Church's group-consciousness saw itself as a separate subject that now, after a war that had been in turn both hot and cold, was intent on dialogue and cooperation. From this perspective, too, we can understand the different emphases with which the individual parts of the Church entered into the discussion of the text. While German theologians were satisfied that their exegetical and ecumenical concepts had been incorporated, representatives of Latin American countries, in particular, felt that their concerns, too, had been addressed, topics proposed by Anglo-Saxon theologians likewise found strong expression, and representatives of Third World countries saw, in the emphasis on social questions, a consideration of their particular problems. (Joseph Ratzinger, Principles of Catholic Theology, pp. 381-382)
Pope Leo XIII denounced efforts to "reconcile the maxims of the Gospel with those of the revolution" that seeks to "reconcile Christ and Belial, the Church of God and the state without God":
Everyone should avoid familiarity or friendship with anyone suspected of belonging to masonry or to affiliated groups. Know them by their fruits and avoid them. Every familiarity should be avoided, not only with those impious libertines who openly promote the character of the sect, but also with those who hide under the mask of universal tolerance, respect for all religions, and the craving to reconcile the maxims of the Gospel with those of the revolution. These men seek to reconcile Christ and Belial, the Church of God and the state without God. (Pope Leo XIII, Custodi Di Quella Fede, December 8, 1892.)
Ah, the “reconciliation” celebrated by the “restorer of tradition,” Joseph Alois Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, who eschewed the supposed more radical elements of the French Revolution as opposed to the American Revolution, which readers of this site undermined the integrity of the Holy Faith in this country by lulling Catholics into silence about their Faith in public in exchange for the ability to live without overt, state-sponsored persecution (noting that great acts of violence were committed by mobs against Catholics in this country in the Nineteenth Century), was nothing other than a reconciliation between Christ and Belial.
Andrew Jackson, an enthusiastic Freemason, was a true son of the French Revolution. Although having been favored by Our Lady of Prompt Succour with victory over the English forces in the Battle of New Orleans on January 8, 1815, Andrew Jackson never converted to the Faith. He remained a Jacobin demagogue his entire life, engaging in class and sectional warfare as he imposed hateful policies upon the American Indians, believing in egalitarianism and majoritarianism, persisting until his death that the beliefs of the "majority" must prevail at all times, oblivious to the truth that God is a "majority of One," and that He has spoken to us definitively only through His Catholic Church. Jackson's thoroughly Masonic conception of God is revealed in his inaugural addresses:
A diffidence, perhaps too just, in my own qualifications will teach me to look with reverence to the examples of public virtue left by my illustrious predecessors, and with veneration to the lights that flow from the mind that founded and the mind that reformed our system. The same diffidence induces me to hope for instruction and aid from the coordinate branches of the Government, and for the indulgence and support of my fellow-citizens generally. And a firm reliance on the goodness of that Power whose providence mercifully protected our national infancy, and has since upheld our liberties in various vicissitudes, encourages me to offer up my ardent supplications that He will continue to make our beloved country the object of His divine care and gracious benediction. (Andrew Jackson, First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1829.)
Finally, it is my most fervent prayer to that Almighty Being before whom I now stand, and who has kept us in His hands from the infancy of our Republic to the present day, that He will so overrule all my intentions and actions and inspire the hearts of my fellow-citizens that we may be pressed from dangers of all kinds and continue forever a united and happy people. (Andrew Jackson, Second Inaugural Address, March 4, 1833.)
Andrew Jackson was a consummate demagogue, and demagoguery is the bete noir of those who seek to blame others for injustices, whether real or imagined, that they or “their people” have suffered and/or are continuing to suffer. Jackson trafficked in sectional hatred as well as a contempt for the “haves” in an early example of class warfare and as champion of “populism,” which arrogates unto the “people” by majority vote what belongs until God alone, namely, the source of all governing authority and the Author of the Divine and Natural Laws.
Blaming others for one’s real or perceived problems and injustices has always made for ready headlines. There is, however, one little problem with this crass effort to caricature and to demonize others: it is an effort on the part of ambitious power-seekers to exploit human fear to profit themselves both politically and financially, and it has become institutionalized by the merchants of class warfare and race-baiters as the means to justify killings, lootings, riots, attacks on police officers, to say nothing of demonizing those who seek to defend themselves and others in the midst of violence-ridden riots as authorities in many cities look the other way and fail to prosecute crimes against persons and property in the name of corrupt sense of “social justice” that makes a mockery of the immutable laws of God and the just laws of men.
Many George and Alexander Soros bought-and-paid-for mayors and district attorneys have turned a blind eye and a deaf ear as various criminal elements within so-called "asylum seekers" who have wreaked havoc in American communities, large and small, especially in the so-called "sanctuary cities" that have displaced the homeless from their shelters, let violent criminals go largely unpunished and unprosecuted, and as shoplifting among even American citizens has caused many businesses, large and small, to get out of control to such an extent that direct violations of the Seventh Commandment "Thou shalt not steal" have become a "social justice" cause célèbres.
Governors such as Timothy James “I am a Knucklehead” Walz (Demagogue--Minesota, Jay Robert Pritzker (Demagogue—Illinois), Gavin Michael Newsom (Demagogue—California), Kathleen Hochul (Demagogue—New York), Jared Polis (Demagogue—Colorado), and among so many others, Philip Murphy (Demagogue—New Jersey), have been mostly mute about the viciously barbaric assaults and murders committed by some of these "asylum seekers," at least one of which, Jose Antonio Ibarra, was released after being arrested in the City of New York and then fled to the State of Georgia where he brutally murdered Laken Riley on February 22, 2024. The person who headed the Department of Homeland Security Secretary until noon on January 20, 2025, Alejandro Mayorkas, was contemptuous of Congressional efforts to investigate his policies, which are direct violations or, at the very least, deliberate misapplications of the United States Code.
This same cast of nefarious characters is as one in denouncing and refusing to cooperate with the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency’s efforts to identify, locate, arrest, and deport those illegal immigrants who have committed violent crimes. The victims of these barbarians matter not to the likes of Walz, Pritzker, Newsom, Hochul, Polis, Murphy, Michelle Lujan Grisham, Gretchen Whitmer, Brandon Johnson (Mayor of Chicago, Illinois), or Jacob Lawrence Frey (Mayor Minneapolis, Minnesota).
Brandon Johnson and Jacob Frey have been particularly outspoken against the fully justifiable round-up of the violent criminals among the class of people who have broken the just immigration laws of the United States of America but who are considered as “law-abiding” people despite having broken the law to enter the country and then to become the beneficiary of housing, food, clothing, medical care, education, and even debit cards to make their purchases. Neither Brandon Johnson nor Jacob Frey would dare acknowledge the fact all too many illegal immigrants commit violent crimes, and they have shown no concern whatsoever for victims such as Laken Riley, Jocelyn Nungaray, and Rachel Morin.
Here is what Brandon Johnson said recently even though many residents of his own citizen fully support the ongoing roundup of violent illegal immigrants:
CHICAGO (WLS) -- The federal government is stepping up its recent immigration sweeps across the country with sanctuary cities like Chicago being heavily targeted.
At a press conference alongside Mayor Brandon Johnson, CPD Superintendent Larry Snelling said at least 100 people have been arrested in the Chicago area as part of the immigration crackdown.
At the press conference, Mayor Johnson reaffirmed Chicago's status as a welcoming city.
"Regardless of who is in the White House, Chicago is a city that opens its arms to people from around the globe," Mayor Johnson said. "We will continue to protect civil and human rights, and we welcome all individuals and families who want to work, live and thrive here in our beloved city. The Welcoming City Ordinance is a law, and it is the law of the land here in Chicago. We will uphold it, along with the complementary Illinois Trust Act to ensure that our immigrant communities are safe."
Johnson said city agencies are in communication with businesses, schools, hospitals, houses of worship and community organizations across the city.
Superintendent Snelling also spoke about the information they have received from immigration officials.
"Communication is there, and my focus is to stay in direct contact with them, so that we know what is going on at all times in our city," Snelling said.
The Republican-controlled House Oversight Committee Chair sent a letter to Johnson, calling on him to testify. The committee is investigating sanctuary city policies and impacts on federal authorities' ability to make arrests.
"Sanctuary jurisdictions and their misguided and obstructionist policies hinder the ability of federal law enforcement officers to effectuate safe arrests and remove dangerous criminals from American communities, making Americans less safe," the letter said.
The mayor deferred questions to his corporation counsel.
"We did receive an invitation from the Oversight Committee, and it is under legal review. So, we are not able to respond directly to your question in terms of whether he will go," Chicago Corporation Counsel Mary Richardson-Lowry said. "It would be premature to talk about going until such time that we properly digested all the legal issues."
The mayors of New York City, Denver and Boston are also being invited to testify in front of the House Oversight Committee with regards to sanctuary city policies.
This comes as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested at least 1,179 people nationwide on Monday.
"What I can tell you right now is that we don't have an exact number of Chicago people who have been detained, but what I can tell you is that the number in the Chicagoland area exceeds 100," Snelling said. "We have not seen federal agents running through Chicago, looking for children, going to work locations and grabbing people."
City leaders say they will continue to spread the word to residents living in Chicago without legal permission about their rights in many ways, including the campaign at CTA stations. The mayor is trying to calm the fears that many families are experiencing.
"We're here to reassure them that they can go and send their children to school; they should go to work. Again, what this administration is attempting to do? He's attempting to get us to surrender our humanity. We're not going to do that in Chicago," Johnson said.
Superintendent Snelling made it clear that while his officers cannot assist ICE under the Welcoming City ordinance, they also will not obstruct their efforts.
The mayor emphasized immigration enforcement is a federal responsibility.
"There's a federal law that clearly states: If you are undocumented, and you are convicted of a crime, you are subject to deportation. That's the law. I fully expect federal government to uphold that law," Johnson said.
The mayor, who never mentioned President Donald Trump by name, called his first week in office misguided, even though Trump promised mass deportations if elected.
"What's clear from this administration is that they do not have the full pulse or the breadth of what people in America are calling for," Johnson said.
It is unclear if the mayor will go to Washington to testify on Capitol Hill on Feb. 11. The letter he received was an invitation, meaning it was a request.
But, a spokeswoman for the committee said the chairman expects all invited mayors to testify, and will evaluate his options to compel testimony if necessary. That includes the power to subpoena. (ICE Chicago immigration raids today: Mayor Brandon Johnson reaffirms city's welcoming city status as at least 100 arrested in area.)
Well, Chicago has been very “welcoming” of its own native career criminals, who engaged in wanton acts of violence that have gone with almost no punishment given the State of Illinois’s “cashless bail” laws that put accused felons back on the streets to commit more crimes before being arrested and then turned loose to continue their lives of mayhem,
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - The Justice Department issued a memo on Tuesday, instructing federal prosecutors to investigate – and possibly charge – state and local officials who refuse to cooperate with the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration.
Justice Department, Minneapolis leaders at odds over immigration crackdown
The backstory:
The Justice Department said it will target state and local officials who do not comply with the Trump administration’s push to carry out large-scale deportations of undocumented immigrants.
The decision to investigate and possibly charge officials who do not cooperate escalates the tension between so-called sanctuary cities like Minneapolis and the federal government.
In a memo written Tuesday, acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove wrote: "Federal law prohibits state and local actors from resisting, obstructing and otherwise failing to comply with lawful immigration-related commands…." The memo instructs federal prosecutors to "investigate incidents involving any such misconduct for potential prosecution…."
What they're saying:
In an interview on Thursday, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said immigration status "is a matter for the federal government to deal with; that’s not our job."
O’Hara said it would be difficult for his department to tackle crime if residents were afraid to call police.
"We understand that they [undocumented immigrants] are fearful," he said, "but we want to reassure people that this is not our role."
In a statement on Wednesday, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey echoed the chief’s sentiments.
"Unlike Trump, I have no plans of tearing innocent families apart or disrupting communities that have called Minneapolis home for generations," he said, in part. "Minneapolis is, and always will be, a welcoming city."
Legal expert says it would be difficult to prosecute city leaders over immigration stance
What they're saying:
Unless police and city leaders try to block the Trump administration from enforcing federal immigration laws, it would likely be difficult for prosecutors to charge them, an immigration attorney said.
"If you look at the statute, it’s hard to make this argument," said Ana Pottratz Acosta, a professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law. "They’re not necessarily engaged in affirmative or like active activity to impede any investigation…."
What's next:
It is unclear when federal prosecutors could launch probes into state and local authorities. (Minneapolis leaders hold firm on immigration policy despite threats from Trump admin.)
This is the same Jacob Frey who said the following when he let lawless thugs burn down buildings, including a police precinct, in the City of Minneapolis, Minnesota, during the George Floyd riots nearly five years ago:
(The Center Square) – A new Minnesota Senate report blames the slow response of Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey for an estimated $500 million in damage after the death of George Floyd.
Floyd died while in the custody of the Minneapolis Police Department in May, sparking riots, extensive looting and other destruction both in the Twin Cities as well as nationwide.
The report concluded the rioting, escalation of violence, and burning of the 3rd Police Precinct wouldn’t have happened as quickly had the leaders acted faster.
Walz first mobilized the Minnesota National Guard 18 hours after Frey requested assistance, the report found. However, the Guard wasn’t fully mobilized until four days after the first building was burned.
“The number one role of government is to keep its citizens safe,” state Sen. Warren Limmer, R-Maple Grove, said in a statement. “A careful examination of the events that took place following the tragic death of George Floyd shows that the state’s crisis response needs significant improvement. The aim is not to relitigate the past, but rather help us prevent riots like this from happening in the future.”
The report found that in six days of riots, the St. Paul Fire Department responded to over 1,150 calls.
The report found four themes:
- Failure to Lead: Executive leadership at the state and local level failed to distinguish between demonstrators and rioters. Furthermore, leaders failed to provide the guidance Minnesotans expect from their offices.
- Philosophical Conflict Caused a Hesitation to Confront Ideological Allies: Walz and elected local leaders identified with the causes promoted by the demonstrators, causing them to lose sight of their responsibility to protect the public from criminal acts committed during the riots.
- Underestimation of the Escalation and Organization of the Riots: Walz did not realize the severity of events as they unfolded, resulting in a delayed reaction and increased violence.
“For nearly a week at the end of May, Minnesotans watched in horror each night as Minneapolis descended further into chaos,” Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka, R-East Gull Lake, said in a statement.
“They were begging for leadership that took far too long to arrive – an unacceptable reality that must be addressed and fixed. Like anything else in life, the only way to improve is by studying what went wrong and what went right.”
The report is the result of four joint committee hearings investigating the riots, recordings of press conferences, news articles, data practice requests, and witness testimony.
Taxpayers spent nearly $13 million to deploy about 7,000 National Guard members to clear the rioters.
The report gave several recommendations:
Law enforcement at all levels of government must be given necessary equipment, personnel and authority to confront and stop riots before they escalate.
Those who commit criminal acts under the guise of social protest must be arrested and prosecuted.
Elected leaders in both the executive and legislative branches must recognize that public safety is a critical necessity.
In response to the report, Walz said: “I wish I could find some partners.”
“A one-sided report coming out right before an election isn’t helpful, but if there’s helpful advice in there, I’ll certainly take it,” Walz told reporters Tuesday. (Senate report blames Gov. Walz, Mayor Frey for extensive riot damage)
Knucklehead Walz is still trying to figure out why the Harris-Walz team lost the presidential election on November 5, 2024, even though his utter refusal to act in the face of widespread destruction of property and violent actions are one of the many reasons he remains in Saint Paul, Minnesota, not on the grounds of the Naval Observatory in Washington, District of Columbia, and Jacob Frey is simply an ideologue is only slightly more intelligent that the Chicom asset Walz.
The ringleaders of government lawbreaking in the past decade or so have been found within the Central Intelligence Agency, National Security Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Department of Justice, United States Internal Revenue Service, and at the White House from January 20, 2021, to January 20, 2025. These lawbreakers made a practice to target political opponents and then charge them with one or more crimes to “neutralize” these opponents in an effort to prevent them from getting elected or, failing that, to exercise the powers of their offices without being under a cloud of suspicion.
Ah, but the very same people who have either perverted the administration of justice and/or refused to enforce and actually scoffed at immigration laws were vicious in their targeting of pro-life advocates, including a man who died in prison after he was falsely accused of setting fire to a Knoxville, Tennessee, abortuary:
The death of pro-life advocate Mark Reno while under FBI investigation shines a harsh light on federal accountability.
At a Glance
- Mark Reno, a pro-life advocate, was wrongly accused of arson by the FBI.
- Despite clear evidence of his innocence, he was subjected to extensive surveillance.
- Reno died in custody from an untreated ulcer, described as a miscarriage of justice.
- Advocates argue this reflects a systemic bias against pro-life activists.
Contentious Circumstances Surrounding Mark Reno’s Death
Investigative journalist Jenny Hay discussed the troubling case of Mark Reno with John-Henry Westen, highlighting serious flaws in the federal investigation. Reno, a dedicated pro-life advocate, was falsely accused of involvement in the arson of a Knoxville Planned Parenthood facility. Despite evidence suggesting his innocence, Reno faced consistent surveillance and questioning from federal agents.
The case concluded tragically with Reno’s death in custody from an untreated ulcer. He was reported to be in good health before his detention, raising significant concerns about the care and treatment of individuals in federal custody. This incident has been described as a gross miscarriage of justice by several pro-life groups.
Broader Implications for Pro-Life Advocates
Reno’s case underscores growing concern over federal approaches to pro-life advocacy. Notably, Paul Vaughn, president of Personhood Tennessee, also faced arrest for alleged violations of the FACE Act. Vaughn and others gathered peacefully in protest but were implicated by the FBI. Once again, questions arise regarding fairness and proportionality in law enforcement’s tactics.
“They traumatized me and my children intentionally. We will never forget this,” expresses Bethany Vaughn, Paul Vaughn’s wife.
The Thomas More Society is defending Vaughn, challenging the constitutionality of the FACE Act. Reno and Vaughn’s experiences reflect a troubling pattern, as more pro-life advocates report aggressive legal threats and enforcement tactics.
Nationwide Spotlight on FBI Practices
These events align with other notable cases, such as that of Mark Houck, a pro-life activist who recently sued the Department of Justice. Houck alleges violations of his Fourth Amendment rights following an FBI raid on his Pennsylvania home. His lawsuit follows his acquittal on related charges, drawing further public scrutiny.
Collectively, these instances highlight ongoing concerns about targeted enforcement strategies against pro-life advocates. Allegations of systemic bias and improper treatment persist, prompting calls for greater oversight and reform within federal law enforcement agencies. (A Pro-Life Advocate’s Tragic End: The Unseen Effects of a Federal Probe.)
There are laws, you see, and then there are laws.
The ministers of injustice during the administrations of Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetro-Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr, and Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., and Kamala Harris Emhoff thought nothing of breaking or failing to enforce just laws that they did not like while using all the force they could, up to and including deadly force, to enforce the so-called Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE) and to seek “enhanced sentencing” to punish Americans who were guilt of the unpardonable “thought crime” of attempting to defend the defenseless by placing themselves at risk of arrest to convince mothers not to kill their children and to seek the conversion of all those who work at or volunteer in America’s killing centers, abortuaries.
Nonviolent resistance to the killing of babies was scattered before the 1987 launch of Operation Rescue, which sought to block entrances to American killing centers and/or engage in sit-ins inside abortuaries, and there were times, especially in West Hartford, Connecticut, on June 1 and June 17, 1989, and then later that year in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Houston Texas, and in 1990 in Los Angeles California, when police used brutal methods, many of which were simply torture masquerading under the aegis of “pain compliance, against peaceful protestors who were praying Our Lady’s Most Holy Rosary both outside and inside of abortuaries ("Pain Compliance" Used by Los Angeles Police). The police in Utica, New York, were also very brutal with the great pro-life hero, the late John Arena, and others during the same period. Those “lawbreakers” were dealt with on the spot and with brutality prior to be sentenced for their “crimes.:
The fact that some police officers act in brutal ways now and again is a reflection of the prevalence of moral relativism and legal positivism that has taken the place of a due subordination of men and their nations to the Social Reign of Christ the King as it must be exercised by Holy Mother Church in all that pertains to the good of souls. Complete and utter hypocrites who talk about enforcing unjust laws that institutionalize baby-killing, and the vivisection of those said to be “brain dead” and who provide taxpayer dollars in support of “palliative care” that expedites the deaths of those who are said be suffering from a deteriorated “quality of life” or have some chronically debilitating condition or terminal are the first ones to justify wanton looting as an expression of “rage” and who look upon illegal immigration as a “legal right.” The same moral monsters in civil government who so these things are the ones who have lectured us sternly about “social distancing” because of a virus that has a survival rate of over ninety-seven percent (97%) have let their morally depraved constituencies gather together in close quarters and in large numbers.
This is what must happen when men and their nations reject the sweet yoke of Christ the King and make war upon His Holy Name and those who seek to defend Him Our Divine Lawgiver and Judge. Decadence and violence are the ultimate outcomes of pluralistic nations found on false, naturalistic premises that praise the “sovereignty of the people” while refusing to recognize the Sovereignty of the King of Kings over men and their nations.
Pope Leo XIII, writing in Tametsi Futura Prospicientibus, November 1, 1900, noted this very clearly:
God alone is Life. All other beings partake of life, but are not life. Christ, from all eternity and by His very nature, is "the Life," just as He is the Truth, because He is God of God. From Him, as from its most sacred source, all life pervades and ever will pervade creation. Whatever is, is by Him; whatever lives, lives by Him. For by the Word "all things were made; and without Him was made nothing that was made." This is true of the natural life; but, as We have sufficiently indicated above, we have a much higher and better life, won for us by Christ's mercy, that is to say, "the life of grace," whose happy consummation is "the life of glory," to which all our thoughts and actions ought to be directed. The whole object of Christian doctrine and morality is that "we being dead to sin, should live to justice" (I Peter ii., 24)-that is, to virtue and holiness. In this consists the moral life, with the certain hope of a happy eternity. This justice, in order to be advantageous to salvation, is nourished by Christian faith. "The just man liveth by faith" (Galatians iii., II). "Without faith it is impossible to please God" (Hebrews xi., 6). Consequently Jesus Christ, the creator and preserver of faith, also preserves and nourishes our moral life. This He does chiefly by the ministry of His Church. To Her, in His wise and merciful counsel, He has entrusted certain agencies which engender the supernatural life, protect it, and revive it if it should fail. This generative and conservative power of the virtues that make for salvation is therefore lost, whenever morality is dissociated from divine faith. A system of morality based exclusively on human reason robs man of his highest dignity and lowers him from the supernatural to the merely natural life. Not but that man is able by the right use of reason to know and to obey certain principles of the natural law. But though he should know them all and keep them inviolate through life-and even this is impossible without the aid of the grace of our Redeemer-still it is vain for anyone without faith to promise himself eternal salvation. "If anyone abide not in Me, he shall be cast forth as a branch, and shall wither, and they shall gather him up and cast him into the fire, and he burneth" john xv., 6). "He that believeth not shall be condemned" (Mark xvi., 16). We have but too much evidence of the value and result of a morality divorced from divine faith. How is it that, in spite of all the zeal for the welfare of the masses, nations are in such straits and even distress, and that the evil is daily on the increase? We are told that society is quite able to help itself; that it can flourish without the assistance of Christianity, and attain its end by its own unaided efforts. Public administrators prefer a purely secular system of government. All traces of the religion of our forefathers are daily disappearing from political life and administration. What blindness! Once the idea of the authority of God as the Judge of right and wrong is forgotten, law must necessarily lose its primary authority and justice must perish: and these are the two most powerful and most necessary bonds of society. Similarly, once the hope and expectation of eternal happiness is taken away, temporal goods will be greedily sought after. Every man will strive to secure the largest share for himself. Hence arise envy, jealousy, hatred. The consequences are conspiracy, anarchy, nihilism. There is neither peace abroad nor security at home. Public life is stained with crime.
So great is this struggle of the passions and so serious the dangers involved, that we must either anticipate ultimate ruin or seek for an efficient remedy. It is of course both right and necessary to punish malefactors, to educate the masses, and by legislation to prevent crime in every possible way: but all this is by no means sufficient. The salvation of the nations must be looked for higher. A power greater than human must be called in to teach men's hearts, awaken in them the sense of duty, and make them better. This is the power which once before saved the world from destruction when groaning under much more terrible evils. Once remove all impediments and allow the Christian spirit to revive and grow strong in a nation, and that nation will be healed. The strife between the classes and the masses will die away; mutual rights will be respected. If Christ be listened to, both rich and poor will do their duty. The former will realise that they must observe justice and charity, the latter self-restraint and moderation, if both are to be saved. Domestic life will be firmly established (by the salutary fear of God as the Lawgiver. In the same way the precepts of the natural law, which dictates respect for lawful authority and obedience to the laws, will exercise their influence over the people. Seditions and conspiracies will cease. Wherever Christianity rules over all without let or hindrance there the order established by Divine Providence is preserved, and both security and prosperity are the happy result. The common welfare, then, urgently demands a return to Him from whom we should never have gone astray; to Him who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and this on the part not only of individuals but of society as a whole. We must restore Christ to this His own rightful possession. All elements of the national life must be made to drink in the Life which proceedeth from Him- legislation, political institutions, education, marriage and family life, capital and labour. Everyone must see that the very growth of civilisation which is so ardently desired depends greatly upon this, since it is fed and grows not so much by material wealth and prosperity, as by the spiritual qualities of morality and virtue. (Pope Leo XIII, Tametsi Futura Prospicientibus, November 1, 1900.)
There is no naturalistic, electoral, political or legal way out of the mess in which we find ourselves. We are witnessing the manifestation of the perfection of the inherent degeneracy of the founding principles, a degeneration that includes social decadence and nihilism.
Speaking about the decadence in the supposedly “free” West in his famous commencement address on June 6, 1978, at Harvard University, “A World Split Apart,” the Nobel Laureate Russian nationalist and Soviet dissident, Dr. Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn, observed that what passes for “civilization” in the West hangs by slender threads:
But should someone ask me whether I would indicate the West such as it is today as a model to my country, frankly I would have to answer negatively. No, I could not recommend your society in its present state as an ideal for the transformation of ours. Through intense suffering our country has now achieved a spiritual development of such intensity that the Western system in its present state of spiritual exhaustion does not look attractive. Even those characteristics of your life which I have just mentioned are extremely saddening.
A fact which cannot be disputed is the weakening of human beings in the West while in the East they are becoming firmer and stronger -- 60 years for our people and 30 years for the people of Eastern Europe. During that time we have been through a spiritual training far in advance of Western experience. Life's complexity and mortal weight have produced stronger, deeper, and more interesting characters than those generally [produced] by standardized Western well-being.
Therefore, if our society were to be transformed into yours, it would mean an improvement in certain aspects, but also a change for the worse on some particularly significant scores. It is true, no doubt, that a society cannot remain in an abyss of lawlessness, as is the case in our country. But it is also demeaning for it to elect such mechanical legalistic smoothness as you have. After the suffering of many years of violence and oppression, the human soul longs for things higher, warmer, and purer than those offered by today's mass living habits, introduced by the revolting invasion of publicity, by TV stupor, and by intolerable music.
There are meaningful warnings which history gives a threatened or perishing society. Such are, for instance, the decadence of art, or a lack of great statesmen. There are open and evident warnings, too. The center of your democracy and of your culture is left without electric power for a few hours only, and all of a sudden crowds of American citizens start looting and creating havoc. The smooth surface film must be very thin, then, the social system quite unstable and unhealthy.
But the fight for our planet, physical and spiritual, a fight of cosmic proportions, is not a vague matter of the future; it has already started. The forces of Evil have begun their offensive; you can feel their pressure, and yet your screens and publications are full of prescribed smiles and raised glasses. What is the joy about? (Dr. Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn, A World Split Apart, June 8, 1978, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts .)
The Nobel Laureate gave this address nearly eleven months after riots had broken out in the Borough of Brooklyn in the City of New York, New York, when the inept utility company, Consolidated Edison, suffered an outage at a power plant in Astoria in the Borough of Queens on Wednesday, July 13, 1977. Solzhenitsyn was saying in his address, in effect, that Americans are in trouble if the only thing keeping the masses from rioting and looting is Consolidated Edison, known colloquially in New York and environs as “Con Ed.”
Neither liberalism (or its variants) nor socialism and its variants are the foundation of social order. Catholicism, though not a guarantor of order given the vagaries of fallen human nature, is alone the only means that can provide men and their nations with the foundation for a just social order, a truth that Solzhenitsyn, whose Russian Orthodoxy caused him to loathe Catholicism, failed to understand or accept.
What we are witnessing at present as state and local officials seek to shelter even violent illegal immigrants from arrest and deportation is the logical result of Modernity’s rejection of the Incarnation of the Second Person of the Most Blessed Trinity in the Virginal and Immaculate Womb of His Most Blessed Mother by the power of the Holy Ghost and a concomitant rejection of His true Church as the one and only foundation of order within the soul and thus within society.
Human nature is wounded, although not entirely corrupted, by Original Sin, leaving the souls of the unbaptized in the grip of the devil and the souls of the baptized with its vestigial after-effects: a darkened intellect, weakened will and the overthrow of the rational, higher faculties in favor of the lower sensual appetites. The Actual Sins of men incline them to sin more and more and to blind them to anything other than what pleases them and their immediate self-interests, no matter how distorted or perverted those self-interests are in the objective order of things.
Men who not seek to reform their lives by confessing their sins to a true priest in the Sacred Tribunal of Penance and then cooperating with the ineffable graces of the Divine Redeemer’s Most Precious Blood that flow into their souls once a priest utters the words of Absolution or, worse yet, do not even realize that there is any need to so will descend to barbarism over the course of time. There is no turning back the tide of the new barbarians who have been let loose as a direct and inevitable consequence of the fatally flawed belief that men can establish social order without reforming their lives in cooperation with the graces won for them by Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ during His Passion and Death on the wood of the Holy Cross on Good Friday and without a due submission in all that pertains to Holy Mother Church in all that pertains to the good of souls, upon which the entirety of social order depends.
Pope Leo XIII explained in his second encyclical letter, Quod Apostolici Muneris, December 28, 1878, that the socialist desire for “social” and “economic” equality ran contrary to the very nature of how God has ordered the world for His own greater honor and glory and our salvation, a desire he traced back to its proximate origins with the Protestant Revolution, admitting that Original Sin itself was caused by our first parents’ succumbing to the tempter’s allure to be like unto God in all things, in other words, being God’s very equal:
At the very beginning of Our pontificate, as the nature of Our apostolic office demanded, we hastened to point out in an encyclical letter addressed to you, venerable brethren, the deadly plague that is creeping into the very fibers of human society and leading it on to the verge of destruction; at the same time We pointed out also the most effectual remedies by which society might be restored and might escape from the very serious dangers which threaten it. But the evils which We then deplored have so rapidly increased that We are again compelled to address you, as though we heard the voice of the prophet ringing in Our ears: “Cry, cease not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet.”[1] You understand, venerable brethren, that We speak of that sect of men who, under various and almost barbarous names, are called socialists, communists, or nihilists, and who, spread over all the world, and bound together by the closest ties in a wicked confederacy, no longer seek the shelter of secret meetings, but, openly and boldly marching forth in the light of day, strive to bring to a head what they have long been planning — the overthrow of all civil society whatsoever. (Pope Leo XIII, Quod Apostolici Muneris, December 28, 1878.)
As we pray for the conversion of everyone in this country, especially for those who believe in the shibboleths that have given rise to needless divisions and bitterness among men, let us surrender ourselves now and always to the Most Holy Trinity and be ever reliant upon the intercessory power of Our Lady, especially through her Most Holy Rosary, to effect the conversion of men and their nations to the Social Kingship of her Divine Son as the fruit of her Fatima Message and the Triumph of her own Immaculate Heart.
