Saint Dominic de Guzman: Favored by Our Lady With Her Most Holy Rosary

Today is the Eighth Sunday after Pentecost and the Commemoration of the Feast of Saint Dominic de Guzman, who had such great zeal for souls from his earliest days in seminary. As is well known, it was a conversation with an innkeeper in the Albigensian stronghold of Toulouse, France, changed the whole direction of his priesthood as he sought to win back souls from the darkness of an early forerunner of Calvinism, Albigensianism.

Our Lady, sent by her Divine Son out of the ineffable Mercy that He has in His Most Sacred Heart, which was formed out of her own Immaculate Heart, to bring back the lost sheep (and not to beat up on the sheep when their souls are sorely distressed) out of the new form of Manicheaism that had arisen in southern France, gave Saint Dominic her Most Holy Rosary to the be the weapon to crush the Albigensian heresy. Saint Dominic de Guzman used the weapon of Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary very well and taught others how to do so.

Every Catholic, of course, owes a great deal to Saint Dominic, who walked between southern France and Rome several times during his life--and who accompanied two of the first Dominicans, Saints Hyacinth and his brother, Saint Ceslaus, on the first leg of their trip in Italy back to Krakow before he, Saint Dominic, had to turn back.

The next original article for this site is being written in a very methodical manner. Although I thought it was nearing completion, events in the news are slowing its pace.

One of those events, of course, is the unspeakably horrific massacre that took place yesterday, Saturday, August 3, 2019, the Feast of the Finding of the Body of Saint Stephen the Protomartyr, in El Paso, Texas, that took the lives of twenty human beings and injured another twenty-six, some of them very seriously. So devoid are the souls of many young people today of any concept of moral truth that think nothing of plotting and then carrying out wanton murder. Then again, the amorality of so Americans today of all ages has densitized them to the killing of the innocent preborn and the daily execution of the sick and the elderly in hospitals and hospices once their "quality of life'" is deemed to be inadequate to receive continued medical care and treatment.

Violence begets violence, and the poor young man, Patrick Crusius, who is all of twenty-one years of age, who committed the El Paso massacre was inspired to copy the mass murder that took place in Christchurch, New Zealand. An article I wrote at that time, , discussed that tragedy. This most recent manifestation of visible violence (as opposed to the invisible voilence against the preborn, the sick and the elderly) will the subject of a section of the commentary being written at this time.

Please pray for the souls of those killed yesterday, the consolation of their surviving relatives and for thre recovery to full health to those who were wounded.

Eternal rest unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Saint Alphonsus de Liguori, Patron Saint of Moral Theologians and Our Uncompromising Guide to Heaven

Today is the Feast of the great Saint Alphonsus de Liguori, the Patron of Moral Theologians. It was over eleven years ago now that I recorded each of the Sunday sermons of Saint Alphonsus for the "Save Thy Souls" section of Traditional Catholic Sermons.org. It was a very sobering experience as I recognized that Saint Alphonsus was speaking directly to me, condemning my sins and my tepidity.

Ouch.

He certainly gave me what for, and I am grateful that he did so.

This particular reflection was enlarged last year to include three complete sermons composed by Saint Alphonsus de Ligouori. Saint Alphonsus de Liguori, the founder of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (the Redemptorists), was particularly emphatic in teaching us that we must avoid sins of human respect. That is, we can show no partiality or favoritism to those in power if they are doing things that put the temporal or, more important, the eternal welfare into jeopardy.

This applies to the likes of Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who blasphemes God on a regular basis and considers it his duty in the name of "mercy" to enable hardened, unrepentant sinners in their lives that are leading to them eternal perdition, and to most of his "bishops," men who believe that the sheep are their enemies and that they can stonewall and intimidate the sheep into remaining silent about real and documented abuses of power and real and documented violations of the integrity of the Holy Faith:

"And when there is question of the divine honour, we should not be frightened by the dignity of the man who offends God; let us say to him openly: This is sinful; it cannot be done. Let us imitate the Baptist, who reproved King Herod for living his brother's wife and said to him: 'It is not lawful for thee to have her'--Matt., xiv. 4. Men indeed shall regard us as fools, and turn us into derision; but, on the day of judgment they shall acknowledge that they have been foolish, and we have shall have the glory of being numbered among the saints. They shall say: 'These are they whom we had some time in derision. . . . . We fools esteemed their life madness, and their end without honour. Behold how they are numbered among the children of God, and their lot is among the saints'--Wis., v. 3, 4, 5. (Sixth Sunday After Easter: On Human Respect.)

The next original article is being written as I work on the book projects. As is the case with many of my articles, it will not please those who believe that the president is immune from criticism because he has been and continues to be the victim of the injustices perpetrated against him by the scions of the organized crime family of the false opposite of the naturalist "left" and their comrades in the deep state.

Saint Ignatius of Loyola: In the Company of Christ

Today is the Feast of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus.

Saint Ignatius of Loyola was a valiant solder in the Army of Christ, a soldier who did battle with the very errors of Martin Luther that are the foundation of much of the counterfeit church of conciiarism and have been celebrated openly by that anti-Jesuit, Jorge Mario Bergoglio.

Saint Ignatius laid down his military armor in front of an image of Our Lady in the Benedictine monastery in Montserrat, Spain, on the Feast of the Annunciation, March 25, 1522, becoming a soldier in the army of Christ the King. Saint Ignatius of Loyola was always in the "company of Jesus," always seeking to advance the cause of the Holy Faith. Saint Ignatius of Loyola attracted men of character and determination of purpose right from the beginning, men who were serious about retarding the advances of the Protestant Revolution and seeking the conversion of pagans in far away lands.

The devil hated this good work of the Society of Jesus, which he why he sought to corrupt the sons of Saint Ignatius in the Twentieth Century by means of the various propositions of Modernism. The most corrupt of them all now, of course, is Jorge Mario Bergoglio. We need to pray to Saint Ignatius and his company of Jesuit saints in Heaven, each of whom was so tenderly devoted to the Mother of God, to help us to be as brave and faithful and gallant as they were in defending the Sacred Honor of Christ the King and of Mary our Immaculate Queen.

A new article should appear by the Feast of Saint Alphonsus de Liguori, Friday, August 2, 2019.

"No One Can Be at the Same Time a Good Catholic and a True Socialist"

Much has been said and written about something that is called the “squad,” a group of four socialists, including two Mohammedan women, who have become the face of the organized crime family of the false opposite of the “left.”

While this very long study ignores these poor ignoramuses (ignorance is awash in each of three branches of the government of the United States of America), it does focus on their support for socialism, a subject that most people have no true understanding.

Two appendices contain a significant number of passages from a history of the Protestant revolution that was written by a Protestant who, sadly, never converted to the Catholic Faith but whose honesty about the true history of England and the plunder of Catholic churches, monasteries and convents under King Henry VIII is truly admirable.

Most of my work now is being concentrated on producing anthologies of these articles. However, I did want to complete this study, which took some time to put together, before disappearing again for a few days.

Your Money or Your Life

Empirical evidence continues to prove that “brain death” is a myth propagated by the very same people who believe that a woman has a “right” to “terminate her pregnancy” and that those whose “quality of life” is said by their own “infallible” standards is said to be “diminished” should be recommended to “palliative” so that their lives can be ended “mercifully” after convincing patients and/or relatives to agree to a plan of “care” that makes them complicit in their own murders and/or that of heir relatives.

We are to treat all others as we would treat Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in the very Flesh, and it can never be any kind of “burden” to a believing Catholic to do so. This was good enough for Saints Camillus de Lellis and Vincent de Paul. It had better be good enough for us,

Our Lady of Mount Carmel: Shielding Us with Her Love and Care

We must use the shield of Our Lady of Mount Carmel's Brown Scapular to defend us against all of the attacks of the devil in our lives, especially as we seek to protect ourselves from the contagions of conciliarism, including the insidious lie of false ecumenism.

Today's Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel represents what tremendous love that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has for us by sending us His Most Blessed Mother to give us a sacramental by which we are clothed in the garment of her Brown Scapular, which serves as a particular protection at the moment of death if we have been faithful to all of the conditions of our enrollment.

Our Lord has permitted His Most Blessed Mother to give us so many aids to get home to Heaven--the Rosary, the Brown Scapular, the Miraculous Medal, the Green Scapular, devotion to her Immaculate Heart as part of her Fatima Message.

We must wear our Brown Scapular of Mount Carmel constantly as we bear witness as best we can that we have been given a loving Mother in Heaven who intercedes for us to live in such a way in this passing, mortal vale of tears that we will always be ready to die and have her pleading for us nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen."

Let us continue to pray for each other and for Holy Mother Church in this time of apostasy and betrayal as we shield ourselves in Our Lady's garment of the Mount Scapular and pray with fervor and devotion her Most Holy Rosary every day. I beg your prayers also for our daughter on the occasion of the eleventh anniversary of her Confirmation.

A blessed  Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel to you all!

Our Lady of Mount Carmel, pray for us.

Only One Reunion Matters

As noted in the last original article for this site last week, I attended my high school class’s fiftieth anniversary reunion last month in Oyster Bay, New York. Such reunions, which include family reunions, are meant to serve as reminders that there is only one reunion that matters, namely, that of the souls of just in Heaven for all eternity in glory of the Beatific Vision of the Most Blessed Trinity.

This is the sort of reflection that readers, however many or few are still left, might want to send to their relatives who have grown indifferent to the Holy Faith and/or have fallen away from its practice altogether.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Saint Henry the Emperor, pray for us.

Saint Henry the Emperor was Ever Intent on Spreading the Holy Faith

This is a reflection in honor of my own Confirmation patron saint, Saint Henry the Emperor, on his feast day. Saint Henry was a superb exemplar of the Social Reign of Christ the King who sought to foster peace among men by promoting the missionary work of Holy Mother Church in parts of central and eastern Europe at the beginning of the Second Millennium. He knew that Catholicism was the one and only foundation of personal and social order, seeking at all times to honor Christ the King and Mary our Immaculate Queen.

May we plead with him this day and every day to help us to see the world more clearly through the eyes of the Catholic Faith as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, He Who is the King of every man and every nation on the face of this earth without any exception whatsoever, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Saint John Gualbert: Reconciling Enemies One to the Other

Although I am working on a new article, it is not ready for publication.

Thus it is that I offer a revised reflection on the holy life and work of Saint John Gualbert that was written some years ago now and has not been offered again since 2017.

Jorge Who?

Most people we meet during the course of a day are oblivious to the events unfolding at lightning speed within the counterfeit church of conciliarism. Very few people, relatively speaking, are paying any attention to the Argentine Apostate and his comrades. Jorge Who?

We, however, must continue to remain steadfast in the Holy Faith as did the saints whose feasts, although not on the general calendar of the Catholic Church, are celebrated today: Saints John Fisher, Thomas More, Maria Goretti and the Martyrs of Gorkum. There was not an ecumenist to be found within their ranks.

Finally, although I have not done so publicly since early this year, it is time to ask the “vast” readership of this site for non-tax-deductible financial gifts (donations) as an asset (and old truck) that I have been trying to sell has not sold yet. Funds are needed. While I realize full well that the support for this site is negligible, everything that we receive at this time would help us tremendously. Thank you for your consideration of this request.
