Today is the great Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Mount Thabor in the presence of the Apostles Peter, James and John and in the company of Moses and Elias. God the Father repeated the proclamation that He had made as His Co-Equal Son made Flesh in Our Lady's Virginal and Immaculate Womb was baptized by His cousin, Saint John the Baptist in the Jordan River prior to the assumption of His Public Ministry, "This is My beloved Son, hear yet Him."

Our Lord was transfigured in the glory that He shared with the God the Father and God the Holy Ghost for all eternity in Heaven in order to show forth His Sacred Divinity to Saints Peter, the first Pope, Saint James, the first Bishop of Jerusalem and the first of the Apostles to be martyred, and Saint James's brother, Saint John, the beloved Apostle and the Apostle of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, to help console them during the events of His Passion and Death. It is our goal to be transfigured in glory for all eternity in Heaven.

The only path to the heavenly Mount Thabor, however, is by climbing atop Mount Calvary every day of our lives, willingly bearing our crosses in reparation for our sins and those of the world as we offer whatever merit we gain for the patient and joyful endurance of these crosses to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Indeed, our climb to Heaven by ascending first to Mount Calvary is signified every day a true bishop or a true priest completes the prayers at the foot of the altar and ascends the three steps (mystically symbolic of the Thee Persons of the Most Blessed Trinity and of the three stages of the interior life) to the altar itself.

If we desire to be transfigured in all glory in Heaven we must, therefore, be willing to be shamed and humiliated by the the ignominy associated with the Holy Cross. The glories of Heaven are worth such temporary shame and humiliation and ignominy, are they not?

May Our Lady, who awaits us in the heavenly Mount Thabor and intercedes for us from there, help us to ascend to Mount Calvary every day in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass so that we can keep her company at the foot of the Cross every day our lives as a a preparation for spending all eternity in the glories of Heaven with her and Saint Joseph and all of the angels and the saints.

Please pray for the soul of Mrs. Barbara Burgess, who was a long-suffering yet joyful champion of the Catholic Faith and a faithful defender of the innocent preborn, Indeed, she convinced many women to save their children from being killed by baby butchers.

Mrs. Burgess loved Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and His Most Blessed Mother with a purity and unalloyed devotedness that inspired many others to follow her simple yet profound surrender to God's Holy Providence in all things. She also had a tender devotion to Saint John the Evangelist and always told medical doctors who inquired about the identity of her primary care physician the following:

"I have five doctors: Saint Luke, Saints Cosmas and Damian, Saint Pantaleon, and Saint Apollonia."

Several priests of the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen were good enough to offer Holy Mass for Mrs. Burgess and her family at their home in Warwick, Rhode Island, once a month. Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI, did this faithfully for many years prior to the stationing of Father Robert Letourneau as the pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Salem, New Hampshire. Father Letourneau diligently attended to the care of Mrs, Burgess's immortal soul whenever she was stricken with one or more physical afflictions or injuries, including in the days prior to her death on August 2, 2023.

Together with two other Catholic ladies, Mrs. Barbara Burgess met with the late Bishop Robert Fidelis McKenna, O.P., in his office at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel in Monroe, Connecticut, in early 2007, and it was from that point forward that the three ladies were unyielding in their commitment to the truth about the state of the Church Militant in this time of apostasy and betrayal. Mrs. Burgess kept in contact with His Excellency even after he had moved to Michigan in 2011 and had spoken with him on the phone just a few months before his death at the age of eighty-eight in 2015. Perhaps it should be noted as well that Mrs. Burgess, who had very limited financial means, truly gave the widow's mite to support traditional Catholic bishops and priests.

Finally, Mrs. Burgess, whom I first met in the 1990s when speaking in Rhode Island during my years of association as a writer and associate editor of The Wanderer, convinced us to have a devotion to the late Father Leo Franklin McNamara, about whom I wrote the following commentary ten years ago: Better Than Realtors And Ebay. A reference to Mrs. Burgess appears at the beginning of this commentary, and we have maintained our devotion to Father McNamara to this day thanks to her introducing him to us.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. 

May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Today is the Feast of Saint Dominic de Guzman, who had such great zeal for souls from his earliest days in seminary. As is well known, it was a conversation with an innkeeper in the Albigensian stronghold of Toulouse, France, changed the whole direction of his priesthood as he sought to win back souls from the darkness of an early forerunner of Calvinism, Albigensianism.

Our Lady, sent by her Divine Son out of the ineffable Mercy that He has in His Most Sacred Heart, which was formed out of her own Immaculate Heart, to bring back the lost sheep (and not to beat up on the sheep when their souls are sorely distressed) out of the new form of Manicheaism that had arisen in southern France, gave Saint Dominic her Most Holy Rosary to the be the weapon to crush the Albigensian heresy. Saint Dominic de Guzman used the weapon of Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary very well and taught others how to do so.

Every Catholic, of course, owes a great deal to Saint Dominic, who walked between southern France and Rome several times during his life--and who accompanied two of the first Dominicans, Saints Hyacinth and his brother, Saint Ceslaus, on the first leg of their trip in Italy back to Krakow before he, Saint Dominic, had to turn back.

Today is the Feast of the great Saint Alphonsus de Liguori, the Patron of Moral Theologians. It was over fourteen years ago now that I recorded each of the Sunday sermons of Saint Alphonsus for the "Save Thy Souls" section of Traditional Catholic Sermons.org. It was a very sobering experience as I recognized that Saint Alphonsus was speaking directly to me, condemning my sins and my tepidity.

Ouch.

He certainly gave me what for, and I am grateful that he did so.

This particular reflection was enlarged last year to include three complete sermons composed by Saint Alphonsus de Ligouori. Saint Alphonsus de Liguori, the founder of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (the Redemptorists), was particularly emphatic in teaching us that we must avoid sins of human respect. That is, we can show no partiality or favoritism to those in power if they are doing things that put the temporal or, more important, the eternal welfare into jeopardy.

This applies to the likes of Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who blasphemes God on a regular basis and considers it his duty in the name of "mercy" to enable hardened, unrepentant sinners in their lives that are leading to them eternal perdition, and to most of his "bishops," men who believe that the sheep are their enemies and that they can stonewall and intimidate the sheep into remaining silent about real and documented abuses of power and real and documented violations of the integrity of the Holy Faith:

"And when there is question of the divine honour, we should not be frightened by the dignity of the man who offends God; let us say to him openly: This is sinful; it cannot be done. Let us imitate the Baptist, who reproved King Herod for living his brother's wife and said to him: 'It is not lawful for thee to have her'--Matt., xiv. 4. Men indeed shall regard us as fools, and turn us into derision; but, on the day of judgment they shall acknowledge that they have been foolish, and we have shall have the glory of being numbered among the saints. They shall say: 'These are they whom we had some time in derision. . . . . We fools esteemed their life madness, and their end without honour. Behold how they are numbered among the children of God, and their lot is among the saints'--Wis., v. 3, 4, 5. (Sixth Sunday After Easter: On Human Respect.)

Also of interest on this feast day might be Jorge Mario Bergoglio Blasphemes Saint Alphonsus de Liguori.

Work on the commentary I had been preparing for posting today had to be suspended because, just like clockwork, One Set of Rules for All Jack Smith announced another indictment against former President Donald John Trump just a day after the latest set of revelations about Joseph Robinette Biden's involvement in his family's foreign influence peddling schemes. This is all a farce, of course, but it is but the logical consequence of the Protestant and Judeo-Masonic revolutions against Christ the King and His true Church as men who live not for eternity will forever be grasping for the things of this earth (money, power, influence) without regard for the sanctification and salvation of their immortal souls. This applies just as much to the narccisistic Trump as to his amoral persecutors in the Biden administration. A commentary on this latest dog and pony show will be published as soon as possible.

Finally, Senor Jorge is in Portugal for another "World Youth Day," meaning that I must do a lot of penance in the next few days dealing with his continued efforts to speed up the eradication of all vestiges of recognizable Catholic doctriine within the countefeit church of conciliarism to make that false religious sect safe for the One World Ecumenical Church that is entirely subservient to its Judeo-Masonic masters in the World Economic Forum, the World Health Organization, and the United Nations.

After having given the vast throngs of people who flock to this site daily in search of commentaries Another Invitation to See the Events of the Day Through the Eyes of the True Faith, I am presenting a short reflection on the Feast of Saint Peter's Chains and the Commemoration of the Holy Machabees.

It is not for nothing that Angelo Roncalli/John XXIII suppressed the Feast of Saint Peter's Chains sixty years ago as, whether he knew it or not, a way for the adverstary to hide the events recounted in the Lesson read at Holy Mass on this feast when it does not on a Sunday and thus not come to the realization that Roncalli himself had taken the papacy in chains so that the work of the new religion and its new church could commence.

Today, Tuesday, August 1, 2023, is also one of the two days in the liturgical year on which one can earn the Toties Qutoies indulgence for the Poor Souls in Purgatory. This indulgence can be earned by entering into a Catholic church and then praying the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory be prayers six times each for the needs of Holy Mother Church, especially for the restoration of a true pope on the Throne of Saint Peter, an intention for which we must pray fervently every day without fail. 

It is my hope to have a new commentary posted on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, the Feast of Saint Alphonsus de Ligouri, in addition to a republished commentary on the feast of the Patron Saint of Moral Theologians.

This brief commentary deals with some of the events of the past week as I invite the readers of this very uninfluential website to rise above the agitation of the moment and to look beyond the conflicts between the "left" and the "right" and thus to view the world and everything in it exclusively through the eyes of the true Faith, which is the necessary precondition for the sanctification and salvation of our immortal souls and thus of all true social order within and among nations.

Saint Ignatius of Loyola, S.J., pray for us.

Today is the Feast of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus.

Saint Ignatius of Loyola was a valiant solder in the Army of Christ, a soldier who did battle with the very errors of Martin Luther that are the foundation of much of the counterfeit church of conciiarism and have been celebrated openly by that anti-Jesuit, Jorge Mario Bergoglio.

Saint Ignatius laid down his military armor in front of an image of Our Lady in the Benedictine monastery in Montserrat, Spain, on the Feast of the Annunciation, March 25, 1522, becoming a soldier in the army of Christ the King. Saint Ignatius of Loyola was always in the "company of Jesus," always seeking to advance the cause of the Holy Faith. Saint Ignatius of Loyola attracted men of character and determination of purpose right from the beginning, men who were serious about retarding the advances of the Protestant Revolution and seeking the conversion of pagans in far away lands.

The devil hated this good work of the Society of Jesus, which he why he sought to corrupt the sons of Saint Ignatius in the Twentieth Century by means of the various propositions of Modernism. The most corrupt of them all now, of course, is Jorge Mario Bergoglio. We need to pray to Saint Ignatius and his company of Jesuit saints in Heaven, each of whom was so tenderly devoted to the Mother of God, to help us to be as brave and faithful and gallant as they were in defending the Sacred Honor of Christ the King and of Mary our Immaculate Queen.

George Walker Bush’s “liberation” of Iraq has “liberated” Iraq of its Chaldean Rite Catholics, who, though always a minority of the predominantly Mohammedan nation, trace their complex origins, which intertwined with the heretical Nestorians until the establishment of the Chaldean Rite in 1552, to  Apostolic times, and had received the protection of Saddam Hussein during his thirty-four years as Iraq’s dictatorial president. All but a handful of Chaldean Rite Catholics remain in Iraq, and the conciliar patriarch of Baghdad, has been forced to take refuge in Kurdistan following Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid’s decree that revoked the regime’s recognition of Louis “Cardinal” Sako as the Chaldean Rite patriarch.

As far as I know, the lying “neoconservative” dimwit whose eight years as the “conservative” statist who make the United States of America “safe” for the election of United States Senator Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro has made no comment on what has happened to “Cardinal” Sako. As is the case with all other “neoconservative” war hawks, George Walker Bush lives in an alternative universe, oblivious to all the deaths of innocent human beings for which he is directly responsible, the destruction of Iraq’s infrastructure, which was “rebuilt” by American contractors in such a slipshod manner than much of its work had to redone one or more times, the transformation of Iraq into an Iranian client state, and the decimation of Chaldean Rite Catholics. All this must be ignored to perpetuate the abject myth that the world became a “safer” place following the overthrow of Saddam Hussein. Go tell that to Chaldean Rite Catholics.

On an unrelated matter, I have added some new material to Sin: More Deadly Than the Coronavirus, part twenty-four, which I will paste here for the sake of those who may have read the article in its entirety when it was posted a week ago tonight:

The rash of sudden deaths and sudden collapses has become impossible for the censors of Big Pharm, Big Tech, and the Deep State to hide from the public view. There are more and more reports of these deaths and collapses, although it remains verboten for any mainslime reporter (or artificial intelligence-generators that write many “news” reports these days) even to hint that there is a direct connection between these deaths and collapses with the “vaccines” developed under former President Donald John Trump’s Operation Warp Speed, which has produced the truly warped consequences such as the one that come from the headlines since the main text of part-twenty four of this series was published a week ago:

Bronny James suffered cardiac arrest while practicing at USC on Monday.

LeBron James confirmed the scare involving his son as he prepared for his first season with the Trojans in a statement to TMZ.

“(Monday) while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest,” the James family said.

“Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital.  He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU.  We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information.”

Bronny was rushed to the hospital after a 911 call was made at 9:26 in the morning from the Galen Center, where USC practices.

Bronny, 18, was a four-star recruit after starring at Sierra Canyon High School.

“LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes,” the statement said.

According to TMZ, Bronny was unconscious before he was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

A 911 dispatcher can also be heard saying “unconscious” in audio obtained by the outlet. 

The medical emergency was a Code 3, according to TMZ, which signifies emergency teams arriving at the scene with ambulance lights and sirens. 

Bronny, the oldest son of James, is entering his freshman year at USC. 

In May, he announced his commitment to play for the Trojans next season, writing the school’s slogan, “Fight On,” in a post on Instagram.

Bronny — a 6-foot-3 combo guard — averaged 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists at Sierra Canyon in his senior season, during which he was named a McDonald’s All-American. 

In March, Bronny competed in the slam dunk competition at the high school showcase, which took place 20 years after James won the dunk contest as part of the McDonald’s All-American festivities.

Bronny, who turns 19 in October, becomes draft-eligible in 2024. 

James and Savannah share a son Bryce, 16, and daughter Zhuri, 8, in addition to Bronny.

When has there ever been such a spate of healthy, fit young men engaged in athletic pursuits suffering from heart attacks, myocarditis, and blood clots?

The answer is never, of course.

The cardiac arrest suffered by “Bronny” James comes a day after a video emerged of a former soccer player turned broadcaster collapsing during a broadcast of a soccer match:

ESPN soccer analyst Shaka Hislop is recovering after he collapsed during a live broadcast on Sunday night in an unsettling moment.

The former goalie fell toward co-host Dan Thomas while discussing AC Milan’s friendly with Real Madrid on the field at the Rose Bowl.

“ Shak! Shak! We need some help,” an unnerved Thomas was heard yelling on the broadcast. “We need medical!”

The broadcast quickly cut to commercial as medical personnel attended to the 54-year-old.

Thomas tweeted after kickoff that Hislop was conscious and in the care of medics and provided an optimistic update at the half. (ESPN's Shaka Hislop collapsed in scary live broadcast scene.)

Although supposed reporters are terming any link with the “Covid-19” vaccines to be “unfounded,” a review of some of the comments posted by New York Post readers indicates that there are more in the peanut gallery who are “on” to the vaccine scam that our minders would care to understand or accept:

1. COVID vaccine mandates are necessary because the protected need to be protected from the unprotected by forcing the unprotected to use the protection that didn't protect the protected.

2. Funny how the same people who decided it was perfectly OK to demand you reveal your vaccination status to buy groceries or see a ball game, NOW feel it is a private matter that should not even be discussed, especially not after another perfectly healthy adult passed out for no reason.

3. Oh NO! It can’t be the jab. The father of the vaccine says that the jab and Operation Warp Speed has saved millions and millions and millions and millions and millions and millions of lives. Don’t you know that he has never done anything wrong by his own admission? How dare you blame the dangerous and deadly dead baby jab? (ESPN's Shaka Hislop collapsed in scary live broadcast scene.)

Additionally, a “singer” and Grammy award winner named Tori Kelly suffered a collapse caused by blood clots:

Two-time Grammy winner Tori Kelly was rushed in a serious condition to a hospital Sunday after collapsing, sources say.

The country singer was at dinner with friends yesterday in Los Angeles when she passed out after reporting her heart beating unusually rapidly, sources told TMZ.

The sources said the 30-year-old was “out for awhile” and was taken to Cedars-Sinai hospital by her own car rather than ambulance.

Kelly is reportedly being treated for blood clots after doctors discovered them around several of her vital organs.

A source told the outlet that the situation is still “really serious.”

Unfortunately, of course, there are still a significant number of people who believe in the propaganda about the “safe” and “effective” vaccines, and these are generally the same people who believe that Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., never discussed business with Hunter Biden (or is that he was never in business with Hunter Biden?) and who believe in the Easter Bunny.

People are dying because of the “vaccines,” and those who are collapsing suddenly may have health problems for the rest of their lives. One of the most tragic aspect of this genocide of innocent human beings in the name of “public health” is that many of the vaccinated who have not yet developed health problems will do so years down the road. This is all about depopulation, and the number of fatalities caused by vaccines in the years of ahead will help advance this diabolical in order to “save the planet” for the elites to govern as they desire until they are vanquished by the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Oh, by the way, I have a prediction: the next indictment against former President Donald John Trump will be issued as soon as Hunter Biden's former business partner, Devon Archer, appears before the Oversight and Judiciary Committees of the United States House of Representatives (if Archer actually does testify and if he is forthcoming in his testimony). Just a prediction about the current dog and pony shows taking place in the ever farcical world of Judeo-Masonic naturalism.

I am working on the next original article for this site, although some time will be spent today adding additional information to part twenty-four of "Sin: More Deadly Than the Coronavirus." There have been several more instances of "sudden collapses," one involving a young lady who had bloodclots and another involving a former athlete turned broadcaster who collapsed on camera. There have never been such a rash of sudden deaths or collapses of people of all ages, especially the young, at any time before this.

A new generation of letters, open letters, books, and articles that owe their patrimony in part to “We Resist You to the Face” and “The Great Façade” has arisen since Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected to serve as the universal face of apostasy as the head of the counterfeit church of conciliarism.

There was the dubia about Amoris Laetitia written by four “cardinals” of the conciliar sect in 2016, followed by a “Correctio” written by Catholic scholars in 2018, and then an endless series of missives written by “Archbishop” Carlo Maria Vigano, Athanasius Schneider, Joseph Strickland, Josef Seifert, and a presbyter from the Ivory Coast, Jesusmary Missigbeto, who has accused Jorge Mario Bergoglio of heresy.

This commentary is a very reworked adaptation of what I wrote in reply to Dr. Seifert’s missive of three months ago, concentrating on the points made by “Father” Missigbeto and emphasizing as well things that he did not discuss that prove the false nature not only of Senor Jorge’s claim to the papacy but of the very conciliar sect itself.

The title of this commentary refers to the very perishable commodities of the Judeo-Masonic, anti-Incarnational civil state of Modernity and to the Judeo-Masonic, anti-Catholic sect known as the counterfeit church of conciliarism. That which is “of, by, and for the people” shall indeed perish from the face of earth as that which is opposed to supernatural truth and is premised on the nonexistent moral liberty of “the people” to sin with impunity can never be the foundation for the sanctification and salvation of souls and thus for order in the world.

As Silvio Cardinal Antoniano noted in the latter part of the Sixteenth Century:

The more closely the temporal power of a nation aligns itself with the spiritual, and the more it fosters and promotes the latter, by so much the more it contributes to the conservation of the commonwealth. For it is the aim of the ecclesiastical authority by the use of spiritual means, to form good Christians in accordance with its own particular end and object; and in doing this it helps at the same time to form good citizens, and prepares them to meet their obligations as members of a civil society. This follows of necessity because in the City of God, the Holy Roman Catholic Church, a good citizen and an upright man are absolutely one and the same thing. How grave therefore is the error of those who separate things so closely united, and who think that they can produce good citizens by ways and methods other than those which make for the formation of good Christians. For, let human prudence say what it likes and reason as it pleases, it is impossible to produce true temporal peace and tranquillity by things repugnant or opposed to the peace and happiness of eternity. (Silvio Cardinal Antoniano, quoted by Pope Pius XI in Divini Illius Magistri, December 31, 1929.)

Moreover, Pope Saint Pius X reminded Catholics that they can never just "put aside" their Holy Faith to think, speak or act as naturalists:

3. These are fundamental principles: No matter what the Christian does, even in the realm of temporal goods, he cannot ignore the supernatural good. Rather, according to the dictates of Christian philosophy, he must order all things to the ultimate end, namely, the Highest Good. All his actions, insofar as they are morally either good or bad (that is to say, whether they agree or disagree with the natural and divine law), are subject to the judgment and judicial office of the Church. (Pope Saint Pius X, Singulari Quadam, September 24, 1912.)

There is never a time, no matter the urgency, that requires a Catholic to think as a natualist and to act as though the greatest evil in the world is Mortal Sin and for a person to die in its wretched stench. Catholicism is the only and only foundation of personal and social order. Why, please tell me why, this is so difficult to understand?

Here we have, founded by Catholics, an inter-denominational association that is to work for the reform of civilization, an undertaking which is above all religious in character; for there is no true civilization without a moral civilization, and no true moral civilization without the true religion: it is a proven truth, a historical fact. The new Sillonists cannot pretend that they are merely working on “the ground of practical realities” where differences of belief do not matter. Their leader is so conscious of the influence which the convictions of the mind have upon the result of the action, that he invites them, whatever religion they may belong to, “to provide on the ground of practical realities, the proof of the excellence of their personal convictions.” And with good reason: indeed, all practical results reflect the nature of one’s religious convictions, just as the limbs of a man down to his finger-tips, owe their very shape to the principle of life that dwells in his body.
