[Midnight update on the Feast of Saints Cyril and Methodius: Although I started writing a commentary five days ago about the tragedy involving young Charlie Gard in England, events surrounding this innocent victim of the modern merchants of death-dealing Judeo-Masonic statism have been moving very rapidly. The Charlie Gard story demonstrates how the forces of Modernity in the world and Modernism in the counterfeit church of conciliarism exist in symbiotic relationship where the latter is always deferential to the former. There are many aspects to this tragedy that need to be explored in depth, but I will not have the time to do so until Saturday, although I will probably need Sunday as well to complete the commentary. 

[In the meantime, of course, please pray for Charlie Gard and for his parents, who do not appear to be married to each other and who labor under the misapprehensionn that "palliative care" could have been helpful for their son, as we pray in reparation for our own sins and those of the whole world that have helped to create a world where civil states and transnational bureaucracies are controlled by utterly godless, amoral monsters.

This commentary will not discuss the lurid details of the news that broke yesterday concerning arrests made in the apartment of an importan ally of Jorge Mario Bergoglio in his mission to "accompany" unrpentant sinners who have no intention of reforming their lives. It is simply enough to note that the counterfeit church of conciliarism is pevesely false of its very nature.

On the Feast of the Visitation: Magnificat

Today is the magnificent feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary to her cousin, Saint Elizabeth, and her preborn Divine Son’s preborn Precursor, Saint John the Baptist. This date, July 2, marks the end of the period of Our Lady’s Visitation, which began on April 2, lasting until the day after the octave day of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist. Our Lady’s perfect Charity for her cousin and her Divine Son’s Precursor should prompt us to perform the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy at all times, making sure as well to proclaim the Holy Name of Mary, she whom all generations are duty bound to call blessed, as the Mother of God who made possible our salvation by her perfect fiat to the will of God the Father at the Annunciation and who is the Queen of Heaven and on earth, the very Immaculate Conception who prays for us now and at the hour of our deaths.

The Fourth Sunday after Pentecost is commemorated at Holy Mass today.

I have completed the transcription work for my next article. Today will be spent completing my own text.

On the Feast of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus: The Laver of Redemption

This is a revised reflection that is offered to the readers of this site today, the Feast of the Most Precious Blood Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The Most Precious Blood of Jesus is our laver of redemption, as our own sins, each and every single one of them, caused It to be shed during the events of Holy Thursday and Good Friday.

It was the thought of coming into contact with the horror of our sins, the very antithesis of His Sacred Divinity, that caused Our Lord to sweat droplets of His Most Precious Blood in His Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane.

It was our sins that caused the Most Precious Blood of Jesus to be shed so terribly during His cruel scourging at the Pillar.

It was our sins that caused the Most Precious Blood of Jesus to be shed as He was crowned with thorns to mock His Sacred Kingship over men and their nations.

It was our sins that caused the Most Precious Blood of Jesus to continue to be shed from the scourging and the crowning as He walked up the steps to be judged by the Roman procurator, Pontius Pilate. Droplets of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus are still venerated by pilgrims as proceed on their knees up the Sancta Scala in Rome right across from the Basilica di San Giovanni Laterano.

It was our sins that caused the Most Precious Blood to be shed as Our Lord’s hands and knees were crucified. It was our sins that caused the Most Precious Blood of Jesus to be shed unto Its last drop as He hung on the gibbet of the Holy Holy Cross for three hours, flowing in a torrent as Our Lord’s wounded side was pierced with the lance of Saint Longinus.

What is It that is poured out onto our souls when they are Absolved by a true priest in the Sacred Tribunal of Penance?

The Most Precious Blood of Jesus.

The Most Precious Blood of Jesus strengthens us when we receive It worthily in Holy Communion.

It was the shedding of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus on the wood of the Holy Cross that ratified the New and Eternal Covenant He inaugurated at the Last Supper, thereby obliterating forever the old sacrifices of the blood of bulls and goats and lambs in Temple worship, thus superseding he Old Covenant of the Jews.

We must celebrate this great Feast of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus, which was pumped through Our Divine Redeemer’s Sacred Body by His Most Sacred Heart, the very font of Mercy, with gratitude that we, sinners who caused It to be shed in torrents under the most unspeakably cruel conditions, are bathed unto our redemption by Its merits.

May we never take the Most Precious Blood of Jesus for granted.

Transcription work for the next original article is ongoing. As I have explained in the past few weeks, the lapse of several days between articles does not mean a lapse in the efforts to produce them. It is simply taking me longer now than in the past. However, I should have the next commentary completed by tomorrow or, at the latest, Monday.

An Encore: True Popes Never Need to "Convert" to the Catholic Faith

Today's republished article is a slightly revised version of a commentary published on July 3, 2016, at a time when the quite boring spectacle "will they or won't they" formally "reconcile" with the counterfeit church of conciliarism was in the news again. 

Oh, who are the "they"? 

Who else? 

The Society of Saint Pius X, whose leaders still continue on their march to oblivion by seeking to "reconcile" with a "pope" who is no pope at all but a figure of Antichrist and thus an enemy of the sanctification and salvation of souls and thus of all social order.

I will, though, have a new reflection on the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul for your consideration by Monday, July 3, 2017, at the latest.

For the moment, however, I will note that the forthcoming commentary will deal, at least in part, with the "homily" that the Argentine Apostate gave yesterday, Wednesday, June 28, 2017, the Feast of Saint Irenaeus within the Octave of the Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Octave of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist, and the Vigil of the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, at the public consistory at which he elevated five Jacobin/Bolshevik concilia revolutionaries to the conciliar college of make-believe cardinals. Believe it or not, Bergoglio actually spoke the truth when he said the following:

He has not called you to become “princes” of the Church, to “sit at his right or at his left”.  He calls you to serve like him and with him. (Jorge Makes Puts More Jorges in the Antipapal Pipeine.)

This is true, 

Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has not called the five new conciliar make-believe "cardinals" to be princes of the Catholic Church as they are not Catholic and have never been ordained to the Catholic priesthood and consecrated to the fullness thereof as bishops. They are not cardinals. He, Bergoglio, is not a pope.

Attack Dogmatic Truth, Open The Doors Wide for George Soros

It has taken an additional eight hours after returning home late yesterday afternoon to complete this commentary, which is a follow-up to "Chronicling the Adversary's Global Takeover of the Healthcare Industry, following a vist to the optometrist, who found that a cataract over the right eye, although not ready to be removed, is occluding my vision a bit more than in the past few years.

As it is well past one' clock on the morning of the the Feast of Saint Irenaeus within the Octaves of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist on the Vigil of the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, I will say only that this commentary is very long and took the better part of an entire week to complete.

Spiritual Resource: Devotions to Our Lady of Perpetual Help

Although too late to be used as a Novena in preparation for the Feast of Our Lady of Perpetual Help that will is commemorated in some chapels today, Sunday, June 27, 2021, the Fifth Sunday after Pentecost and the Commemoration of the Feast of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist, the following traditional devotional prayers to Our Lady of Perpetual Help can be used as a novena at any time. Moreover, every family should pray these prayers once a week. We do so on Tuesday evenings following our family Rosary.

I ask readers to pray three Hail Marys for my self-sacrificing wife, Sharon, who graciously consented to type up these prayers for you nine years ago as I was working on Then, Now And Always: Viva Cristo Rey!, part five, which took a great deal of time to complete. Sharon loves Our Lady with a very pure heart. She gladly and generously devoted her time on Saturday evening, June 23, 2012, after a long day of housework to do so. Please, in your charity, do pray her those three Hail Marys. Thank you.

 

Republished Reflections for the Feast of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist

[Late Night Update on the Sunday Within the Octave of the Feast of the Sacred Heart, the Third Sunday after Pentecost, and the Commemorations of Saint William the Abbot and of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist: Compling the documentation for my next original article has occupied much of the past two days. It will do so again tomorrow, Monday, June 26 2017, the Feast of Saints John an Paul. It is my hope, though, to complete the article for publication on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, the Feast of Saint Irenaeus and the Vigil of the Solemnity of Saints Peter Paul with the respective Ocatves of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist. 

[Part of the reason for the delay is that the glare of the computer screen has taken a toll on my eyesight. Funds have been raised privately for a visit to an optician so I can obtain and then fill a prescription for new glasses. It will be necessary to be away from the computer for the most of the day such an appointment can be scheduled. If it is not tomorrow, therefore, I will be at work on the article. If it can be scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, of course, I will be away from the computer. Two republished refections are being published today, the Feast of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist:

Today's great feast, coming as it does six months, one day prior to Christmas Day, is only one of three in the liturgical calendar of the Catholic Church that commemorates a physical birth (or Nativity). Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Nativity in Bethlehem in celebrated on Christmas Day, December 25. Our Lady Nativity is celebrated on September 8. And Our Lord's Precursor, the son of Saint Elizabeth, Saint John the Baptist, is privileged to have his own Nativity celebrated this very day. This is a tremendous feast day in the life of the Catholic Church. Posted today is a revised article on the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist and a new (and very short) article that is simply an exhortation to pray to Saint John the Baptist live with perhaps just a modicum of his spirit of prayer, penance, fasting and self-denial.

Saint John the Baptist, the last of the Old Testament prophets, prepared the way for the coming of Our Lord prior to the assumption of His Public Ministry. Freed from Original Sin in the womb of his mother, Saint Elizabeth, who was Saint Anne's cousin, at the moment of Our Lady's Visitation, Saint John the Baptist preached fearlessly to convert sinners from their sinful ways and to prepare them to accept his Cousin, God Incarnate, as their Redeemer. He also knew that he had to decrease in stature in the world as Our Lord increased following His symbolic baptism in the Jordan River, during which, of course, God the Father sent a dove, symbolizing God the Holy Ghost, spoke to tell us in no uncertain terms, "This is My beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased" (Matthew 3: 17), a proclamation that would God the Father repeated at Our Lord's Transfiguration (Matthew 17: 5).

Saint John the Baptist fearlessly proclaimed the truth. He lost his head for doing so. In like manner, of course, we must proclaim the truth, doing so out of fidelity to Our Lord as He has revealed Himself to His true Church, and in true Charity for the eternal good of others, recognizing at all times that we are but weak vessels of clay, full of faults and failings, who must make much reparation to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary for our sins.

It is not easy to speak truth to those in power. Saint John the Baptist knew this.

Those in power, such as King Herod the Tetrarch, who was married illicitly to his brother's wife even though his brother was still very much alive, frequently believe themselves to be beyond criticism and that each of their decisions are binding upon the consciences of all others, a power that Our Lord has given exclusively to true popes, who can indeed bind our consciences. And it is frequently the case that even true bishops in in the decades before the "Second" Vatican Council had a tendency to figuratively lop off the heads of anyone who questioned their personnel decisions, a tendency that has borne such rotten fruit as the unquestioning "trust" rendered to top lieutenants in the past made possible the infestation of corruption among the ranks of the conciliar presbyterate, an infestation that has scandalized many Catholics and caused some to lose the Faith altogether.

Those in civil power, however, tend to think of themselves as demigods whose musings on this or that subject carry great significance. No matter who the President of the United States of America is, for example, it is invariably the case that some sort variation of one false, naturalistic presupposition after another is supposed to be accepted by the populace as the foundation for the common good domestically and for peace internationally. These "demigods" can't possibly be wrong, of course. They believe that their shallow words and empty and sometimes contradictory statements are received from on high (actually, their words and actions come from below!) and anyone who dares to dissent from them is suspect of being a "domestic terrorist."

We must, therefore, ask Saint John the Baptist to pray for the restoration of a true pope on the Throne of Saint Peter in order to defend the truth of Divine Revelation after decades upon decades of attacks upon it by the mighty powers of the counterfeit church of concilairism and by the potentates in civil government who share conciliarism's rejection of the Social Reign of Christ the King and believe, instead, that men of "good will" can pursue the "common good" without seeking the conversion of all men and all nations to the Catholic Faith, outside of which there is no salvation and without which there can be no true social order.

The next original article for this site will be a follow-up to Chronicling the Adversary's Global Takeover of the Healthcare Industry, which was published one month ago now. As there is much documentation to be included in the article, it may take up to three more days before it is completed. (I am also working on adapating my doctoral dissertation, which was defended orally and then approved on Friday, May 20, 1977, forty long years ago now, for publication. This work is tedious. However, the finished product should be of interest to a few readers. I simply have not had time to attend to this. This is a project that may interfere at times with the completion of articles, but it is simply one of several book projects that I want to complete as I am not getting any younger.)

Reflections for the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ

Today is the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

First, an original commentary, The Conciliar Church and Its Falsehoods Will Be But A Bad Memory One Day, was published late yesterday afternoon (and a few my ubiquitous typorgraphical errors have been corrected).

Four older reflections, each of which has been revised slightly, are being called to your attention on this Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus:

 
 
 
 
The first of the reflections on the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus listed just above was written last year, and it emphasizes the need to make reparation to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus for the crimes of this wicked age--and, of course, for our own many sins.
 
We must never permit anything distract us from the glories of this great feast day of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, which falls this year on the  fourth Friday of the Month of June, the month of the Sacred Heart, as the Vigil of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist is commemorated.
 
How can we be as ungrateful and as indifferent as we are in the face of the great, tender mercies that have been showered upon us by the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, formed out of and beating as one with the Immaculate Heart of Mary? We must use this feast and its octave to increase our ardor for the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.
 
A marvelous reflection, written by Father Francois Charmot, S.J., in In Retreat With the Sacred Heart summarizes the Trinitarian nature of the love that flows out for us from the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus:
 
"If I did not have some knowledge of the Heart of Jesus, how little would I realize the love of the Father! "But, looking upon the pierced Heart of the Incarnate Word, I can say with assurance: blessed be Thou, O Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ, who, in Him, has heaped upon us all Thy spiritual blessings! "Before the creation of the world Thou hast chosen us in Jesus, in order that we may be holy with Him, through the love of the blessed Trinity. "Thy Son is charity, as Thou, Father, art charity. "He is all charity, as thou art all charity. ""The charity of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost is the same, equal in Three Persons. There are not three charities, but one singe coeternal love. "With what love I have been loved infinitely, neither more nor less by Thee, Father, than by the Son and by Thy Holy Spirit, since before the creation of the world! "If I believe that Jesus loves me, I believe that His Father loves me just as much, and it is Thy Word who declares to me that Thou, Father, and Thy Holy Spirit wish to dwell in me. "All those whom the Heart of Jesus loved: His disciples, the children, the sinners, the diseased, the poor, the humble, the persecuted. "Thou, Father, also loved them with the same love. "The Blessed Virgin was loved no less by Thee than by Thy Son, her Son, and by Thy Spirit. "O Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ, blessed be Thou for having foreordained that we should be Thy Sons in thine only begotten Son, sons of adoption through Thy Son incarnate. "Thou hast willed, by this gracious predestination, that the Heart of Thy well-beloved Son should make us sharers in the love of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. "For this Heart encompasses all that the charity of the Three Persons could communicate from its Fire to the Incarnate Word. "In this Heart we possess by heritage such an effusion of the Holy Spirit, such a furnace of love, such an ocean of mercy, such an outpouring of tenderness, that it is impossible to imagine any others in some perfect creature which would be closer to infinite charity. "That is why, O Father, we know thy love through the Heart of Jesus. "Kind Father, kindest of Fathers, incomparably kind Father, Thou hast willed that through the pierced Heart of Thy Son, we should know the extent of Thy charity, Thy goodness, Thy paternity, Thy longanimity, Thy mercy, Thy pardon, Thine eternal remission of sin. "And when this Heart which has so loved men–even to the shedding of all Its blood for them–finally ceased to beat, the death of Thy Son bore witness, even as the sacrifice of His Father who had delivered Him, that the love of the Three Persons for us outweighs the very life of the Man-God. st of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ to the whole world, and that Pope Pius XI elevated its rank to a double of the first class with an octave: "At length, in the year 1765, the Supreme Pontiff Clement XIII approved the Mass and Office in honour of the mos"Through the pierced Heart of Thy Son, O infinitely good Father, grant me the grace to believe implicitly in Thy love, to love Thee as a Son, as Thy Son Jesus, who abandoned Himself to Thee in the agony and on the cross in utter helplessness and total destitution, solely because Thou were His Father."(Father Francois Charmot, S.J., In Retreat With the Sacred Heart, The Newman Press, 1956, pp. 16-18.)
 
The followng bief history, contained in Pope Pius XI's Caritate Christi Compulsi, May 3, 1932, and contained in today's Divine Office, explains Holy Mother Church's institution and then extension of the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus that Our Lord specifically requested Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque to make possible:

But, in order to establish fully and entirely the worship of the most Sacred Heart of Jesus, and to spread the same throughout the whole world, God himself chose as his instrument a most humble virgin from the order of the Visitation, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, who even in her earliest years already had a burning love for the Sacrament of the Eucharist, and to whom Christ the Lord had very many times appeared, and was pleased to make known the riches and the desires of his divine Heart. 

The most famous of these appearances was that in which Jesus revealed himself to her in prayer before the blessed Sacrament, showed her his most Sacred Heart, and, complaining that in return for his unbounded love, he met with nothing but outrages and ingratitude from mankind, he ordered her to concern herself with the establishment of a new feast, on the Friday after the octave of Corpus Christi, on which his Heart should be venerated with due honor, and that the insults offered him by sinners in the Sacrament of love should be expiated by worthy satisfaction.

But there is no one who does not know how many and how great were the obstacles which the handmaid of God experienced, in carrying out the commands of Christ: but, endowed with strength by the Lord himself, and actively aided by her pious spiritual directors, who exerted themselves with an almost unbelievable zeal, up to the time of her death she never ceased faithfully to carry out the duty entrusted to her by heaven.

At length, in the year 1765, the Supreme Pontiff Clement XIII approved the Mass and Office in honor of the most Sacred Heart of Jesus; and Pius IX extended the feast to the universal Church, From then on the worship of the most Sacred Heart, like an overflowing river, washing away all obstacles, has poured itself over the whole earth, and, at the dawn of the new century, Leo XIII, having proclaimed a jubilee, decided to dedicate the whole human race to the most Sacred Heart. 

This consecration was actually carried out with solemn rites in all the churches of the Catholic world, and brought about a great increase of this devotion, leading not only nations but even private families to it, who in countless numbers dedicated themselves to the Divine Heart, and submitted themselves to its royal sway. 

Lastly, the Sovereign Pontiff Pius XI, in order that, by its solemnity, the feast might answer more fully to the greatly widespread devotion of the Christian people, raised the feast of the most Sacred Heart of Jesus to the rite of a double of the first class, with an octave; and moreover, that the violated rights of Christ, the supreme King and most loving Lord, might be repaired, and that the sins of the nations might be bewailed, he ordered that annually, on that same feast-day, there should be recited an expiatory form of prayer in all the churches of the Christian world.(Pope Pius XI, Caritate Christi Compulsi, May 3, 1932.) 

A blessed Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus to you all! Let us never be ungrateful or indifferent to the tender mercies shown us by the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Let our own hearts fly unto these tender mercies through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

The Conciliar Church and Its Falsehoods Will Be But A Bad Memory One Day

The Argentine Apostate does not believe that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is truly present in the Most Blessed Sacrament.

Obviously, Our Lord is not truly present in the false liturgical rites of concilairism. Granted. However, the official teaching of this false religious sect is that Our Lord is so present. Bergoglio does not believe this is so. If he did, you see, he would speak about the Blessed Sacrament and act in front of what is purported to be Our Lord in His Real Presence differently.

This commentary explains why this is so
