Whither Syria's Catholics
by Thomas A. Droleskey
To reject the sweet yoke of the Social Reign of Christ the King is to live under the iron rule of men whose minds are not conformed to the Sacred Deposit of Faith that Our King has entrusted exclusively to His Catholic Church for Its infallible explication and eternal safekeeping.
To reject the sweet yoke of the Social Reign of Christ the King is to live under the iron rule of men whose hearts are not consecrated to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.
To reject the sweet yoke of the Social Reign of Christ the King is to live under the iron rule of men who believe that they can "plan" or "will" "solutions" to domestic and international difficulties, convincing us that they need more and more of our money to do so.
To reject the sweet yoke of the Social Reign of Christ the King is to live under the iron rule of men who wind up having no regard even for the constitutions and just civil laws that they have sworn to uphold (see He Swore to Uphold the Constitution, Not the United Nations).
To reject the sweet yoke of the Social Reign of Christ the King is to live under the iron rule of men who are mad, men who never want to admit that their schemes for prosperity at home and for peace in the world are doomed to miserable failure time after time after time (see All Caesars Go Mad.)
This country has been in one war or another, hot or cold, during most of the sixty years of my life as the military-industrial complex about which President Dwight David Eisenhower warned in his farewell address, delivered on Tuesday, January 17, 1961, accustomed us to accept unjust wars, including wars without clearly stated goals and no true plans of what constituted victory, as just part of our daily lives. Consider again President Eisenhower's very prescient words:
Crises there
will continue to be. In meeting them, whether foreign or domestic, great
or small, there is a recurring temptation to feel that some spectacular
and costly action could become the miraculous solution to all current
difficulties. A huge increase in newer elements of our defense;
development of unrealistic programs to cure every ill in agriculture; a
dramatic expansion in basic and applied research-these and many other
possibilities, each possibly promising in itself, may be suggested as
the only way to the road we wish to travel.
But each
proposal must be weighed in the light of a broader consideration: the
need to maintain balance in and among national programs-balance between
the private and the public economy, balance between cost and hoped for
advantage-balance between the clearly necessary and the comfortably
desirable; balance between our essential requirements as a nation and
the duties imposed by the nation upon the individual; balance between
action of the moment and the national welfare of the future. Good
judgment seeks balance and progress; lack of it eventually finds
imbalance and frustration.
The
record of many decades stands as proof that our people and their
government have, in the main, understood these truths and have responded
to them well, in the face of stress and threat. But threats, new in
kind or degree, constantly arise. I mention two only.
A
vital element in keeping the peace is our military establishment. Our
arms must be mighty, ready for instant action, so that no potential
aggressor may be tempted to risk his own destruction.
Our military
organization today bears little relation to that known by any of my
predecessors in peace time, or indeed by the fighting men of World War
II or Korea.
Until the
latest of our world conflicts, the United States had no armaments
industry. American makers of plowshares could, with time and as
required, make swords as well. But now we can no longer risk emergency
improvisation of national defense; we have been compelled to create a
permanent armaments industry of vast proportions. Added to this, three
and a half million men and women are directly engaged in the defense
establishment. We annually spend on military security more than the net
income of all United States corporations.
This
conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms
industry is new in the American experience. The total
influence-economic, political, even spiritual-is felt in every city,
every state house, every office of the Federal government. We recognize
the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to
comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood
are all involved; so is the very structure of our society.
In the
councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of
unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the
military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of
misplaced power exists and will persist.
We must never
let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic
processes. We should take nothing for granted only an alert and
knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of huge industrial
and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals,
so that security and liberty may prosper together. (Dwight D. Eisenhower -- Farewell Address.)
Although Eisenhower did not
understand that the authentic security of one's nation is premised upon
its subordination to the Social Reign of Christ the King as it must be
exercised by the Catholic Church, placing him in concert with today's
conciliar officials in the counterfeit conciliar church, the late
president and former five star General of the United States Army did
have a keen insight into the dangers posed by the rise of what he termed
so accurately as the military-industrial complex, which thrives on the
constant warfare that former President George Walker Bush and his advisers envisioned as
"necessary" to "secure" this country and "liberate" other peoples. The
precepts of the Just War Theory demand that military force be used as a
last resort in situations when there is a real and legitimate threat to a
nation's security and/or in situations where justice has been so
disturbed internationally that the only recourse to defend one's nation
and/or to restore justice is military force. [This is not to forget, however, then-General Eisenhower's role in the forcible repatriation of Eastern Europeans, most of whom were Catholics, to behind the Iron Curtain after World War II to enforce the terms of the treasonous Yalta Accords. See the appendix below for a brief synopsis of "Operation Keelhaul" and an observation from Mr. Dennis Bilodeau, a reader of this site.]
The judgment to use military force, which is
supposed to be governed in the United States of America by a declaration
of war passed by both Houses of the Congress of the United State, in
such situations must take into account many factors, including whether
the good end sought will be outweighed by the foreseen evil to be done
in the prosecution of military action. Even the best efforts to protect
noncombatants from injury and death will fail. Bombs go astray.
Noncombatants might be misidentified accidentally as combatants.
Soldiers make mistakes in the field of combat. War carries with it
terrible consequences, which is why the Catholic Church has taught from
time immemorial that every step be taken to assure, as far as is humanly
possible in this fallen world, that noncombatants are indemnified and
that the damage done to a country's infrastructure and food supply does
not create worse conditions that are meant to be redressed by the use of
military force.
The chaos wrought by the unjust and immoral invasion
of Iraq by the armed forces of the United States of America on March 19,
2003, has taken the lives of over 4,483 American service personnel
needlessly and opened up Iraq's borders, which were controlled very
tightly by the late dictator Saddam Hussein, to all kinds of Mohammedan
terrorists bent on fomenting violence among Iraq's fractious Mohammedan
sects and upon American military personnel and civilians based in that
country. Violence in Iraq continues to this very day, and its has devastated Iraq's Catholic population. Devastated.
Indeed, one of the many contretemps in which I have been involved in the past four decades since the beginning of my professional life as an academic/pro-life political activist/Catholic writer and speaker took place in the run-up to the Iraq War in late-2002 and early-2003. Articles of mine that appeared in The Remnant and online at the Seattle Catholic website, which is now dormant and from which my articles have been expunged from view, were ripped to shreds by "super patriots" who called anyone who opposed the pending unjust, immoral and unconstitutional American invasion and subsequent occupation of Iraq by one wretched epithet after another. Dr. John C. Rao was excoriated in the letters page of the Seattle Catholic as one letter writer told him to "go to French where you belong." It was pure and complete irrationality.
To this date, I have seen none of the "super patriots," including some traditionally-minded Catholics, admit that they were wrong about Iraq, that the country has become an enclave of Shiite militants led by thoroughly corrupt officials who have care not one whit about the attacks upon our co-religionists in the country.
Saddam Hussein had no remaining "weapons of mass destruction," and the ones that he used on the Kurds in 1991 after the Persian Gulf War had been supplied to him by the administration of President Ronald Wilson Reagan in 1983 during the Iran-Iraq War:
(Shaking Hands: Iraqi President Saddam Hussein greets Donald Rumsfeld,
then special envoy of President Ronald Reagan, in Baghdad on December
20, 1983. (National Security Archive,
http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB82/ There is an interesting,
fact-based article, replete with links to national security documents,
available at: Shaking Hands with Saddam Hussein.)
Isn't it amazing how yesterday's useful ally can be called later a veritable reincarnation of Adolph Hitler?
Saddam Hussein had no links to the events of September 11, 2001, that killed 2,997 people in the City of New York, New York, at the Pentagon in Alexandria, Virginia, and onboard United Airlines Flight 93 that crashed n Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
The propaganda machine of the government of the United States of America, starting with then-President George Walker Bush and then-Vice President Richard Bruce Cheney and including National Security Adviser Condoleeza Rice, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Secretary of State Colin Powell, told lie after lie after lie to whip up American and international support for the Iraq War, which had been the goal of the Trotskyite neoconservatives for at least five years prior to that time (see Letter to President Clinton on Iraq).
Was the United States of America to be made "safe" and Iraq to be "democratized" at the price of the shedding of the blood of Catholics and the destruction of their churches?
No good and justifiable purpose was served by the American invasion and occupation of Iraq. The country is a mess.
The plight of Catholics and Coptic Orthodox Christians in Egypt has suffered tremendously as a result of the so-called "Arab Spring" that has been extolled by our current war mongering caesar, Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro (see Different Chief, Same War Drums).
The fate that awaits Syria's very tiny population of Catholics is equally gruesome as the orthodox, believing Mohammedans who rebelling against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad have been attacking them fiercely thus far, taking time out from their war against Assad to do so.
Indeed, one the very few places left on the face of this earth where Aramaic, the very language spoken by Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, is the normal discourse of its inhabitants is threatened with complete and utter extinction by the "rebels" whom the likes of Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro, John F. Kerry, John Sidney McCain III, Lindsay Graham and Dianne Feinstein desire to support:
On Wednesday morning, rebels from the al-Qaida-linked Jabhat al-Nusra
group launched the assault on predominantly Christian Maaloula, some 60
kilometers (40 miles) northeast of Damascus, according to a Syrian
government official and the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human
Rights, an anti-regime group.
At the start of the attack, an
al-Nusra fighter blew himself up at a regime checkpoint at the entrance
to the village, said the Observatory, which collects information from a
network of anti-regime activists.
The explosion was followed by
fighting between the rebels and regime forces. Eventually, the rebels
seized the checkpoint and disabled two tanks and an armored personnel
carrier, the Observatory said. At least eight regime soldiers were
killed in the fighting, the group said.
The nun said the rebels
had taken over the Safir hotel atop a mountain overlooking the village
and where shelling from there. "It's a war. It has been going from 6
a.m. in the morning," she said from her convent.
The said the
convent houses 13 nuns and 27 orphans. She said around 80 people from
the village had come to the convent for safety.
A Syrian
government official confirmed the assault and said the military was
trying to repel the rebels. He spoke on condition of anonymity because
he was not authorized to give official statements.
Maaloula is a
mountain village with about 2,000 residents, who are among a tiny group
in the region that still speaks a version of Aramaic, the ancient
language of biblical times also believed to have been spoken by Jesus. (Al-Qaida-Linked Rebels Attack Village In Syria.)
George Walker Bush never uttered a blessed word about the fate of Catholics and Orthodox Christians in Iraq.
Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro has never uttered a blessed word about the fate of Catholics and Coptic Orthodox Christians in Egypt, refusing to let the word "Christian" pass from his lips as he condemned attacks on "churches" in but a brief statement recently (see Francis and Barry's Religion of Peace).
Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro and his coterie of flacks want us to believe that Bashar al-Assad is the newest reincarnation of Adolf Hitler so as to justify his plan to come to the assistance of the Mohammedan rebels who have just slaughtered the Catholics of Maaloula, Syria.
Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro wants these rebels to topple Assad, who is doubtlessly as much as a thug as the likes of Saddam Hussein. It is nevertheless true that thugs such as Hussein and Assad, no matter how odious they may be, have protected our co-religionists, who have been at such risk ever since the American "liberation" of Iraq on March 20, 2003.
No, as I noted two days ago in When AIPAC Calls, John Boehner and Eric Cantor Listen, it does not matter if the American assertion, made thus far without revealing any evidence, that the Assad regime itself ordered the use of chemical weapons against the rebels is true as there is no legitimate national security interest for the United States of America that justifies American intervention. This is yet another exercise in American social engineering, pure and simple, done at the bidding of the ancient enemies of Christ the King (see Patrick J. Buchanan's Just Whose War Is This?)
Then again, Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro has used the office of the President of the United States of America as a means to engage in social engineering domestically, something that can be witnessed by his choosing to ignore whatever Federal laws he desires and to issue and enforce putrid, unconstitutional executive orders, each of which is designed to consolidate his power over Congress and over state governments.
Part and parcel of Obama/Soetoro's social engineering has involved a militantly aggressive promotion of the chemical and surgical assassination of children and of sodomy. Christians who oppose this agenda must be forced to accept it as their beliefs are illegitimate even to discuss publicly, no less to serve as the foundation of civil law, which is why he is indifferent to the plight of our fellow Catholics in Syria who are suffering at the hands of the Mohammedans to whom he has been ferreting arms even since the American, excuse me, NATO, sponsored overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi in Libya two years ago now.
Indeed, how can this horrific man do so as office-holders within his own political party around the country seek to persecute Christians in the furtherance of the agenda of the homosexual collective?
Consider the case of the Mayor of the City of San Antonio, Texas, Julian Castro, who was the keynote speaker at last year's Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the members of the city council in this city named after the Hammer of Heretics, Saint Anthony of Padua, that was once a fortress of authentic Catholicism:
The city of San Antonio has passed a sweeping new ordinance that not only adds homosexuals, transsexuals and cross-dressers to the list of groups protected under the city’s anti-discrimination law, but bars anyone who has “demonstrated a bias” against such people from holding public office or doing business with the city.
“No person shall be appointed to a position if the city council finds that such person has, prior to such proposed appointment, engaged in discrimination or demonstrated a bias, by word or deed, against any person, group or organization on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, age or disability,” says the law, which was passed by an 8-3 vote Thursday with the vocal support of Mayor Julian Castro, a Democrat.
The ordinance does not contain a religious exemption, meaning that people who are active members of a faith that teaches against homosexuality could be blocked from city employment or contracts on the grounds that they have “demonstrated a bias.”
Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott criticized the ordinance in a letter to Castro’s office Wednesday, calling it ‘thought control’ and an unconstitutional violation of the First Amendment, which guarantees the right to free speech and practice of religion.
“The obvious problem with this provision is that it allows government to impose thought and speech control over any city official or board or commission member who may hold deep religious beliefs that are counter to the ordinance,” Abbott wrote. He told the mayor to expect lawsuits if the measure was passed.
American Family Association president Tim Wildmon said the San Antonio ordinance is “yet another tactic to exclude Christians from the political process and silence them, not to mention the assault on religious liberties that this unconstitutional policy demonstrates.”
“This course of action is well on its way to thought control if people won't even be able to voice their faith-based beliefs about homosexuality in a respectful way,” said Wildmon. “This leaves Christians with nowhere to go and backs them into a corner, which is exactly what the homosexual lobby wants."
Some opponents of the new law worry it will lead to persecution of the faithful not just inside City Hall, but in private businesses, as well.
“We’ve seen how that has played out in other parts of the country where people have been persecuted for disagreeing with a homosexual lifestyle,” said Jonathan Saenz, president of Texas Values, speaking before the vote. “People have been forced to photograph gay wedding ceremonies in states where they do not even recognize homosexual marriage. We’ve seen the real force of government be used against people of faith.”
Pastor Steve Branson of San Antonio's Village Parkway Baptist Church agreed, telling Houston’s KHOU, “It's a stifling of free speech. If you voice any opinion, no matter how many years back it's been, it can be used against you.” (Christians may be barred from office, city employment, or contracts under new San Antonio LGBT law.)
By the way, have I mentioned that Julian Castro is a pro-abortion, pro-perversity statist Catholic who is in perfectly good standing within the conciliar structures as a parishioner within the Archdiocese of San Antonio? He is. (See What Kind Of Country Do I Want To Live In?)
The persecution of Catholics and non-Catholic Christians, some of whom have, sad to say, more moral courage in defending their limited understanding of the moral law than the lion's share of Catholics in the conciliar structures, here in the United States of America is gathering force at the same time Catholics in Syria are under savage attack and as our co-religionists are being assaulted in Egypt and Iraq.
This persecution is real. It exists:
A family-owned Christian bakery, under investigation for refusing to
bake a wedding cake for a lesbian couple, has been forced to close its
doors after a vicious boycott by militant homosexual activists.
Sweet Cakes By Melissa posted a message on its Facebook page alerting
customers that their Gresham, Ore. retail store would be shut down after
months of harassment from pro-gay marriage forces.
“Better is a poor man who walks in integrity than a rich man who is
crooked in his ways,” read a posting from Proverbs on the bakery’s
Facebook page.
“It’s a sad day for Christian business owners and it’s a sad day for the First Amendment,” owner Aaron Klein told me. “The LGBT attacks are the reason we are shutting down the shop. They have killed our business through mob tactics.”
Last January, Aaron and Melissa Klein made national headlines when they refused to bake a wedding cake for a lesbian couple.
Klein tells me he has nothing against homosexuals -- but because of their religious faith, the family simply cannot take part in gay wedding events.
“I believe marriage is between a man and a woman,” he said. “I don’t want to help somebody celebrate a commitment to a lifetime of sin.”
The lesbian couple filed a discrimination with the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries and told their story to local newspapers and television statements.
Within days, militant homosexuals groups launched protests and boycotts. Klein told me he received messages threatening to kill his family. They hoped his children would die.
The LGBT protestors then turned on other wedding vendors around the community. They threatened to boycott any florists, wedding planners or other vendors that did business with Sweet Cakes By Melissa.
“That tipped the scales,” Klein said. “The LGBT activists inundated them with phone calls and threatened them. They would tell our vendors, ‘If you don’t stop doing business with Sweet Cakes By Melissa, we will shut you down.’”
To make matters worse, the Oregon’s Bureau of Labor and Industries announced last month they had launched a formal discrimination investigation against the Christian family.
Commissioner Brad Avakian told The Oregonian that he was committed to a fair and thorough investigation to determine whether the bakery discriminated against the lesbians.
“Everybody is entitled to their own beliefs, but that doesn’t mean that folks have the right to discriminate,” he told the newspaper. “The goal is to rehabilitate. For those who do violate the law, we want them to learn from that experience and have a good, successful business in Oregon.”
In other words, Christians who live and work in Oregon must follow man’s law instead of God’s law. But in a show of benevolence, the state is willing to rehabilitate and reeducate Christian business owners like the Kleins.
Klein said the closing of their retail store was a small price to pay for standing up for their religious beliefs.
“As a man of faith, I am in good spirits,” he said. “I’m happy to be serving the Lord and standing up for what’s right.”
Klein said what’s happened to Sweet Cakes By Melissa should be a warning to other Christians across the nation.
“This is a fight that’s been coming for a while,” he said. “Be prepared to take a stand. Hopefully, the church will wake up and understand that we are under attack right now.”
Just last month, New Mexico’s Supreme Court ruled that two Christian photographers who declined to photograph a same-sex union violated the state’s Human Rights Act. One justice said the photographers were “compelled by law to compromise the very religious beliefs that inspire their lives.”
Denver baker Jack Phillips is facing possible jail time for refusing to bake a cake for a gay wedding.
The Colorado Attorney General’s office filed a formal complaint against Phillips, the owner of Masterpiece Cake Shop. A hearing before the state’s civil rights commission is set for later this month.
In Indianapolis, a family-owned cookie shop faced a discrimination investigation after they refused to make rainbow cookies for National Coming Out Day.
A T-shirt company in Lexington, Ky. found itself at the center of a Human Rights Commission investigation after they refused to make T-shirts for a local gay rights organization.
Klein said it’s becoming clear that Christians do not have the “right to believe what we believe.”
In other words, gay rights trump religious rights.
Aaron and Melissa Klein tell me they will continue to bake wedding cakes from their home. He’s already taken a full-time job to pay the bills and feed their five children.
Mrs. Klein told television station KPTV her philosophy remains unchanged by recent events.
“The Bible tells us to flee from sin,” she said. “I don’t think making a cake for it helps. I guess in my mind I thought we lived in a lot nicer of a world where everybody tolerated everybody.”
The plight of the Klein family exposes the true nature of the left. Those who preach tolerance and diversity are the least tolerant and the least diverse of all. (Christian bakery closes after LGBT threats, protests.)
The Protestants quoted in Todd Starnes's article would make wonderful fully traditional Catholics. Who is seeking to convert these people. Who is seeking to organize Legion of Mary chapters to go door-to-door to seek them out, distributed blessed Rosaries and Green Scapulars and then bring them to a true priest to be instructed in the one and only true Faith?
That such people have been left to the sacramental barrenness and doctrinal sterility of Protestantism is the fault of the Americanist bishops of yore, who had made their peace with "coexisting" with the Protestant majority in exchange for "freedom of worship," and of the conciliarists, whose own false religion is as sacramentally barren and as doctrinally corrupt as Protestantism. What conciliar "bishop" is standing up in defense of these souls who mean to do good?
The caesars of Modernity hate anyone who professes the Holy Name of Our Divine Redeemer, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and who believe that there are immutable moral truths that do not depend upon human acceptance for their binding force and legitimacy. This is why the caesars are love with fellow travelers such as Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., Nancy Patricia D'Alesandro Pelosi, Richard Durbin, Thomas Harkin, G. Edmund Brown, Jr., Patrick Quinn, Andrew Mark Cuomo, Daniel Malloy, John F. Kerry, Martin O'Malley, Barbara Mikulski, Christopher Murphy, Robert Menendez and, among so many others, Julian Castro himself. And this is why they are so utterly indifferent to the plight of Catholics and other Christians around the world, including Red China, Nigeria, Vietnam, Cuba, Egypt and Syria at the present time.
Yes, yes, the caesars wax eloquently about "the children" when shootings such as the one at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, and they get all teary-eyed over the "sanctity of life" when tragedies such as the events of September 11, 2001, and the Boston Marathon bombings take place (see On Full Display: Every Americanist Error Imaginable and Antichrist's Liturgical Presiders).
These very same caesars, though, who are so "concerned" about shootings and bombings that take place within our country's borders support the destruction of innocent human lives in their mothers' wombs by chemical and surgical means. Their hypocrisy and blindness is stupefying.
Then again, our war-mongering statist caesars who belong to the organized crime family of the false opposite of the naturalist "left" have been enabled and empowered time and time again by so many of the conciliar "bishops" and priests/presbyters and consecrated religious and apparatchiks in chancery offices and the nooks and crannies of the offices of the so-called United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in Washington, District of Columbia, under the aegis of "concern of the poor." The doctrinal, liturgical and moral monsters of conciliarism have encouraged Catholics to vote for the monsters of Modernity by invoking the late Joseph "Cardinal" Bernardin's "consistent ethic of life," more commonly known as "the seamless garment" (see Defending Their Boy Saul, Alinsky, That Is).
The conciliar "bishops" of the United States of America, however, the moral monsters who have murdered souls, have lots of company around the world within the structures of their false church, starting with Jorge Mario Bergoglio/Francis, who has provided plenty of "photo-ops" with world leaders who are fully supportive of the chemical and surgical destruction of the innocent preborn.
Bergoglio/Francis, who recently telephoned a woman who chose not to kill her preborn baby and offered to baptized the child when he is born, sees no connection whatsoever between the slaughter of the preborn and the spread of violence around the world, which is why he believes that pro-abort and pro-perversity civil leaders can help create a a more "just" society within their countries and to help to build "peace" among nations.
Oh, you doubt my word?
Please, let me allay any doubts that you might have:
(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis received in audience the Bolivian head of
state Juan Evo Morales on Friday and held talks on bilateral and
international issues. A communique from the Holy See’s Press Office
described the talks as cordial and said the two leaders discussed the
socio-economic situation in Bolivia and the struggle against social
inequality and poverty. They also discussed the important role played
by the Catholic Church in Bolivia in the field of education, healthcare,
family support and welfare provision for children and the elderly.
The
communique said the two men also agreed on the importance of good
relations between the Church and the State, especially regarding matters
of common interest in the service of the whole nation. The Pope and
the Bolivian President also discussed international issues and in
particular the promotion of peace in Syria and the Middle East.
Following his audience with the Pope, President Morales met the
Secretary of State, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone and the Secretary for
Relations with States, Archbishop Dominique Mamberti.
(Francis the Impure meets President Morales of Bolivia in the Vatican.)
Evo Morales is not only a pro-abortion, Hugo Chavez-style dictator of Bolivia. He is a former conciliar presbyter who was appointed by none other than the soon-to-be "Pope Saint John Paul the Great" as a conciliar "bishop" in Bolivia even though he is a personal practitioner of syncretism and even though the secular constitution that he had put in place four years ago that kicked out Christ the King and had the following terrible features:
LA PAZ, BOLIVIA, January 21, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) -
Bolivia will hold a nationwide referendum this Sunday to approve or
reject a new constitution containing pro-abortion language, and
providing special rights for homosexuals and "transgender" people.
The new document will also nullify Bolivia's
existing recognition of Catholicism, declaring that the government
adheres to no religion.
Article 66 of the new constitution would "guarantee
to women and men the exercise of their sexual and reproductive rights,"
a phrase that is customarily used by international pro-abortion
organizations to refer to the "right" to abortion and contraception.
Article 14, paragraph 2, states that "the
government prohibits and sanctions all forms of discrimination based on
... sexual orientation, gender identity..." The article may give
homosexual activists access to religious institutions, schools, and
daycare centers, and well as open the door to homosexual “marriage" and
adoption of children.
The article's assertion of rights to "gender
identity" refers to the "right" of individuals to decide what gender
they have, independent of their actual physical gender. If approved, it
will be the first constitutional recognition of homosexualist "gender
identity" ideology in history, requiring men who claim they are women to
be recognized and treated as such.
The new charter document also abolishes all
recognition of Christianity, which appears in the current Constitution,
instead establishing "the independence of the State from religion" in
article 4.
Opponents of the constitution have launched an ad
campaign asking, "Did you know they want to send God out of Bolivia?"
In addition, the Catholic bishops of the country have made a public
critique of the document, acknowledging some virtues but warning about
the threats to human life and family values.
The bishops are concerned that the proposed
constitution "contains various contradictions and an impreciseness that
could make its application difficult."
In addition to pro-abortion and homosexualist
language in the document, the bishops point to an article that declares
that people who attack the "unity" of the country will be guilty of
treason.
For his part, Bolivian
President Evo Morales, a socialist, says that his opponents are telling
“lies,” and that the document is not pro-abortion.
Morales has recently
clarified that, although he is an "admirer" of Christ and regards
himself as a "Catholic," he also associates himself with Earth-worship.
“I believe strongly in the rites and in Mother
Earth (Pachamama),” Morales said. The Catholic religion, however,
prohibits paganism and the adoration of any being other than God.
Morales admits that his constitution has many fans
in European and American universities, who say, according to him, that
"this Constitution proposed for the Bolivian people is the most advanced
in the world in social terms." (Bolivia Prepares to Vote on Abortionist, Homsexualist and Secularist Constitution . By the way, the constitution passed overwhelmingly on Sunday, January 25, 2009, the Feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul the Apostle--see Bolivians Ratify New Constitution.)
Yet it is that Jorge Mario Bergoglio/Francis believes that Evo Morales is a fit instrument of the public weal in Bolivia, a man who can promote "justice" because, of course, he is "for the poor."
Who cares about Evo Morales's syncretism?
Who cares about Evo Morales's hideous constitution that enshrines terrible evils under cover of the civil law?
Not Jorge Mario Bergoglio, which is one of the many reasons why the Catholics in Syria are at risk from the Mohammedans and from the Americans who wish to come to the Mohammedans' assistance as he, Bergoglio/Francis believes in the very falsehoods of "religious liberty" and separation of Church and State that made possible the rise and triumph in power of men such as George Walker Bush, Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro, Dilma Rousseff in Brazil and Evo Morales in Bolivia.
Jorge Mario Bergoglio/Francis rejects the simple truth that Catholicism is the one and only foundation of personal and social order, which is why his vigil of prayer for peace in Syria, being held ostensibly to honor Our Lady as the Queen of Peace during the vigil of her Nativity, is yet another fruitless exercise of conciliar mockery of the Sacred Deposit of Faith that does nothing to effect peace and much to offend the true God of Divine Revelation, the Most Blessed Trinity.
Remember these words of Pope Pius XI, contained in his first encyclical letter, Ubi Arcano Consilio, December 23, 1922:
There exists an institution able to
safeguard the sanctity of the law of nations. This institution is a part
of every nation; at the same time it is above all nations. She enjoys,
too, the highest authority, the fullness of the teaching power of the
Apostles. Such an institution is the Church of Christ. She alone is
adapted to do this great work, for she is not only divinely commissioned
to lead mankind, but moreover, because of her very make-up and the
constitution which she possesses, by reason of her age-old traditions
and her great prestige, which has not been lessened but has been greatly
increased since the close of the War, cannot but succeed in such a
venture where others assuredly will fail.
It is apparent from these considerations that true
peace, the peace of Christ, is impossible unless we are willing and
ready to accept the fundamental principles of Christianity, unless we
are willing to observe the teachings and obey the law of Christ, both in
public and private life. If this were done, then society being placed
at last on a sound foundation, the Church would be able, in the exercise
of its divinely given ministry and by means of the teaching authority
which results therefrom, to protect all the rights of God over men and
nations.
It is possible to sum up all We have said in one
word, "the Kingdom of Christ." For Jesus Christ reigns over the minds of
individuals by His teachings, in their hearts by His love, in each
one's life by the living according to His law and the imitating of His
example. Jesus reigns over the family when it, modeled after the holy
ideals of the sacrament of matrimony instituted by Christ, maintains
unspotted its true character of sanctuary. In such a sanctuary of love,
parental authority is fashioned after the authority of God, the Father,
from Whom, as a matter of fact, it originates and after which even it is
named. (Ephesians iii, 15) The obedience of the children imitates that
of the Divine Child of Nazareth, and the whole family life is inspired
by the sacred ideals of the Holy Family. Finally, Jesus Christ reigns
over society when men recognize and reverence the sovereignty of Christ,
when they accept the divine origin and control over all social forces, a
recognition which is the basis of the right to command for those in
authority and of the duty to obey for those who are subjects, a duty
which cannot but ennoble all who live up to its demands. Christ reigns
where the position in society which He Himself has assigned to His
Church is recognized, for He bestowed on the Church the status and the
constitution of a society which, by reason of the perfect ends which it
is called upon to attain, must be held to be supreme in its own sphere;
He also made her the depository and interpreter of His divine teachings,
and, by consequence, the teacher and guide of every other society
whatsoever, not of course in the sense that she should abstract in the
least from their authority, each in its own sphere supreme, but that she
should really perfect their authority, just as divine grace perfects
human nature, and should give to them the assistance necessary for men
to attain their true final end, eternal happiness, and by that very fact
make them the more deserving and certain promoters of their happiness
here below.
It is, therefore, a fact which cannot be questioned
that the true peace of Christ can only exist in the Kingdom of Christ
-- "the peace of Christ in the Kingdom of Christ." It is no less
unquestionable that, in doing all we can to bring about the
re-establishment of Christ's kingdom, we will be working most
effectively toward a lasting world peace. (Pope Pius XI, Ubi Arcano Dei Consilio, December 23, 1922.)
We must, therefore, bear the cross with joy and gratitude in this time of chastisement, recognizing that the errors of Modernity in the world and those of Modernism in the counterfeit church of conciliarism are intertwined with each other as but similar manifestations of the errors of Russia (see Conversion of Russia Update).
We have much to suffer for our own sins.
We must suffer well as we place not our trust in the princes of naturalism in this world or the princes of false "reconciliation" and "dialogue" with false religions in the counterfeit church of conciliarism.
We must place our trust in the Immaculate Heart of Mary, especially on this First Saturday in the month of September, and her Fatima Message, as we give this heart, out which the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus was formed, all of the sufferings of the present moment so that she can present whatever merit we earn from patiently and lovingly enduring them to the Throne of the Most Blessed Trinity.
As I have just noted, Catholicism is the one and only foundation of social order.
You have heard this before?
You will keep hearing until the day I die or the day that I am unable to continue work on this site as a result of physical and/or mental infirmity, whichever shall first occur (and I realize that some of you believe that the latter condition obtains at the present time).
Catholicism is the only and only foundation of personal and social order.
Period.
We must, therefore, enfold ourselves into the love of the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus as we make reparation for our own many sins, which are so responsible for the worsening of the state of the Church Militant on earth and of the world-at-large, as we seek to restore all things in Christ the King and Mary our Immaculate Queen, praying as many Rosaries each day as our state-in-life permits.
Isn't it time to pray a Rosary now?
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!
Vivat Christus Rex! Viva Cristo Rey!
Saint Joseph, pray for us.
