When We Refuse To Listen To Our King's True Popes
by Thomas A. Droleskey
The madness caused by the insanity that is "freedom of speech" was prophesied by Christ the King's true popes. What we are witnessing at this time as the secular "magisterium" of the naturalist "left," unsheathing its sharpened scimitars for all but the wilfully blind to see, is but the fulfillment of these papal statements concerning the fate of men and nations that "liberate" themselves from the Social Reign of Christ the King as It must be exercised by His true Church that He founded upon the Rock of Peter, the Pope:
This shameful font of indifferentism gives rise to that absurd and erroneous proposition which claims that liberty of conscience must be maintained for everyone. It spreads ruin in sacred and civil affairs, though some repeat over and over again with the greatest impudence that some advantage accrues to religion from it. "But the death of the soul is worse than freedom of error," as Augustine was wont to say. When all restraints are removed by which men are kept on the narrow path of truth, their nature, which is already inclined to evil, propels them to ruin. Then truly "the bottomless pit" is open from which John saw smoke ascending which obscured the sun, and out of which locusts flew forth to devastate the earth. Thence comes transformation of minds, corruption of youths, contempt of sacred things and holy laws -- in other words, a pestilence more deadly to the state than any other. Experience shows, even from earliest times, that cities renowned for wealth, dominion, and glory perished as a result of this single evil, namely immoderate freedom of opinion, license of free speech, and desire for novelty.
Here We must include that harmful and never sufficiently denounced freedom to publish any writings whatever and disseminate them to the people, which some dare to demand and promote with so great a clamor. We are horrified to see what monstrous doctrines and prodigious errors are disseminated far and wide in countless books, pamphlets, and other writings which, though small in weight, are very great in malice. We are in tears at the abuse which proceeds from them over the face of the earth. Some are so carried away that they contentiously assert that the flock of errors arising from them is sufficiently compensated by the publication of some book which defends religion and truth. Every law condemns deliberately doing evil simply because there is some hope that good may result. Is there any sane man who would say poison ought to be distributed, sold publicly, stored, and even drunk because some antidote is available and those who use it may be snatched from death again and again? (Pope Gregory XVI, Mirari Vos, August 15, 1832.)
For you well know, venerable brethren, that at this time men are found not a few who, applying to civil society the impious and absurd principle of "naturalism," as they call it, dare to teach that "the best constitution of public society and (also) civil progress altogether require that human society be conducted and governed without regard being had to religion any more than if it did not exist; or, at least, without any distinction being made between the true religion and false ones." And, against the doctrine of Scripture, of the Church, and of the Holy Fathers, they do not hesitate to assert that "that is the best condition of civil society, in which no duty is recognized, as attached to the civil power, of restraining by enacted penalties, offenders against the Catholic religion, except so far as public peace may require." From which totally false idea of social government they do not fear to foster that erroneous opinion, most fatal in its effects on the Catholic Church and the salvation of souls, called by Our Predecessor, Gregory XVI, an "insanity," viz., that "liberty of conscience and worship is each man's personal right, which ought to be legally proclaimed and asserted in every rightly constituted society; and that a right resides in the citizens to an absolute liberty, which should be restrained by no authority whether ecclesiastical or civil, whereby they may be able openly and publicly to manifest and declare any of their ideas whatever, either by word of mouth, by the press, or in any other way." But, while they rashly affirm this, they do not think and consider that they are preaching "liberty of perdition;" and that "if human arguments are always allowed free room for discussion, there will never be wanting men who will dare to resist truth, and to trust in the flowing speech of human wisdom; whereas we know, from the very teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ, how carefully Christian faith and wisdom should avoid this most injurious babbling."
And, since where religion has been removed from civil society, and the doctrine and authority of divine revelation repudiated, the genuine notion itself of justice and human right is darkened and lost, and the place of true justice and legitimate right is supplied by material force, thence it appears why it is that some, utterly neglecting and disregarding the surest principles of sound reason, dare to proclaim that "the people's will, manifested by what is called public opinion or in some other way, constitutes a supreme law, free from all divine and human control; and that in the political order accomplished facts, from the very circumstance that they are accomplished, have the force of right." But who, does not see and clearly perceive that human society, when set loose from the bonds of religion and true justice, can have, in truth, no other end than the purpose of obtaining and amassing wealth, and that (society under such circumstances) follows no other law in its actions, except the unchastened desire of ministering to its own pleasure and interests?" (Pope Pius IX, Quanta Cura, December 8, 1864.)
What? You've read those quotes a lot lately? Well, good! That's all I have to say. Good!
Although the readership of this site is infinitesimally minute (as in small, as in pathetic, as in almost nonexistent), a fact that is perfectly within the Providence of God for His own greater honor and glory and my own sanctification, it is my duty, as I see it, to keep hammering away at the work of giving those who do actually read these articles access to the warnings that our true popes have given us about our times today.
You see, the very people who champion the cause of "free speech" when it comes to distorting the history of the Catholic Church and denouncing her Sacred Teaching and who promote blasphemies against the Sacred Divinity of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and the honor due His Most Blessed Mother and her Most Holy Rosary, promoting also one abject social evil after another in the name of "freedom," are actually fascists, people who believe that no one can dissent from their "received truths" without being excoriated and humiliated, if not deprived of their very livelihoods in the process.
Those of you who are familiar with this site know that I am employable in my own field of the teaching of political science at the college level because of my outspokenness as a Catholic. Not even the efforts of a former departmental chairman of mine, a man who does not agree with me on much but who respected the competency that I brought to the classroom, to employ me full-time at his university ten and one-half years ago could prompt the fascists to deal with me fairly (and my former colleague's letter of recommendation attesting to this fact has meant nothing to those who have reviewed applications that I have sent out in the past ten years). And that was not a new phenomenon in my career as
feminists at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, wanted the College's then president, the late Miles Tomeraasen, to cancel my signed contract in the summer of 1992 because they had found out that I run for lieutenant governor of New York on the Right to Life Party line six years before. Long, long before my embrace of the Tradition of my childhood, no less the truth of our ecclesiastical situation, doors were slammed shut in my face simply because I was known as a Catholic willing to defend the Faith as best I knew how at the time despite my own sins and failings. This was not the path to career success or popularity in the academic world. So what? The only thing that mattered to me was teaching and speaking as a Catholic. Oh yes, I lost my "credibility" decades ago, my friends.
The late Dr. Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn, who, as a Russian Orthodox nationalist, was very much an anti-Catholic at heart, was an honest observer of Western "political correctness," perhaps one of the first, if not the first, to speak about it openly, as he did in his famous commencement address at Harvard University on June 8, 1978:
Without any censorship, in the West fashionable trends of thought and ideas are carefully separated from those which are not fashionable; nothing is forbidden, but what is not fashionable will hardly ever find its way into periodicals or books or be heard in colleges. Legally your researchers are free, but they are conditioned by the fashion of the day. There is no open violence such as in the East; however, a selection dictated by fashion and the need to match mass standards frequently prevent independent-minded people from giving their contribution to public life. There is a dangerous tendency to form a herd, shutting off successful development. I have received letters in America from highly intelligent persons, maybe a teacher in a faraway small college who could do much for the renewal and salvation of his country, but his country cannot hear him because the media are not interested in him. This gives birth to strong mass prejudices, blindness, which is most dangerous in our dynamic era. There is, for instance, a self-deluding interpretation of the contemporary world situation. It works as a sort of petrified armor around people's minds. Human voices from 17 countries of Eastern Europe and Eastern Asia cannot pierce it. It will only be broken by the pitiless crowbar of event. (A World Split Apart)
Well, the day has come when there is at least the threat of open violence against those who speak the truth about the influence exercised by enemies of Christ the King, such as various adherents of the Talmud who control much of the news and "entertainment" industries, and about the threat posed to the legitimate national security interests by various Mohammedan terrorists, each of whom is being entirely faithful to the blasphemous Koran by plotting acts of violence against Americans and other Westerners and those who collaborate with them.
What is more frequent, of course, is the violent assault upon reason and logic and truth employed by the fascists of the naturalist "left" to distort reality to reflect their own ideological predilections as they attempt to swath a path of the moral annihilation of the reputations of anyone and everyone who dares to dissent from their diabolical falsehoods.
This is what has happened to a former contributor to National Public Radio (known in the 1980s as "Nicaraguan Public Radio" and known also as National Proletariat Radio or as National Propaganda Radio), Juan Williams, after he merely expressed what emotions he felt when he saw passengers dressed in Mohammedan garb board an airplane on which he was scheduled to travel. He qualified his remarks considerably. Juan Williams, who is not a "conservative" of the naturalist "right," did not discuss Mohammedanism's inherently evil nature, something that he does not believe is the case. He merely explained to Bill O'Reilly of the Fox News Network's The O'Reilly Factor that he felt fear when he saw recognizable Mohammedans board an airplane.
Juan Williams wrote a summary of how he was fired from National Propaganda Radio:
Two days later, Ellen Weiss, my boss at NPR called to say I had crossed the line, essentially accusing me of bigotry. She took the admission of my visceral fear of people dressed in Muslim garb at the airport as evidence that I am a bigot. She said there are people who wear Muslim garb to work at NPR and they are offended by my comments. She never suggested that I had discriminated against anyone. Instead she continued to ask me what did I mean and I told her I said what I meant. Then she said she did not sense remorse from me. I said I made an honest statement. She informed me that I had violated NPR’s values for editorial commentary and she was terminating my contract as a news analyst.
I pointed out that I had not made my comments on NPR. She asked if I would have said the same thing on NPR. I said yes, because in keeping with my values I will tell people the truth about feelings and opinions.
I asked why she would fire me without speaking to me face to face and she said there was nothing I could say to change her mind, the decision had been confirmed above her, and there was no point to meeting in person. To say the least this is a chilling assault on free speech. The critical importance of honest journalism and a free flowing, respectful national conversation needs to be had in our country. But it is being buried as collateral damage in a war whose battles include political correctness and ideological orthodoxy.
I say an ideological battle because my comments on "The O’Reilly Factor" are being distorted by the self-righteous ideological, left-wing leadership at NPR. They are taking bits and pieces of what I said to go after me for daring to have a conversation with leading conservative thinkers. They loathe the fact that I appear on Fox News. They don’t notice that I am challenging Bill O’Reilly and trading ideas with Sean Hannity. In their hubris they think by talking with O’Reilly or Hannity I am lending them legitimacy. Believe me, Bill O’Reilly (and Sean, too) is a major force in American culture and politics whether or not I appear on his show.
Years ago NPR tried to stop me from going on "The Factor." When I refused they insisted that I not identify myself as an NPR journalist. I asked them if they thought people did not know where I appeared on the air as a daily talk show host, national correspondent and news analyst. They refused to budge.
This self-reverential attitude was on display several years ago when NPR asked me to help them get an interview with President George W. Bush. I have longstanding relationships with some of the key players in his White House due to my years as a political writer at The Washington Post. When I got the interview some in management expressed anger that in the course of the interview I said to the president that Americans pray for him but don’t understand some of his actions. They said it was wrong to say Americans pray for him. (I Was Fired for Telling the Truth.)
Part of Mr. Williams's article included a bit of selective memory as he wrote the following:
I pointed out that the Atlanta Olympic bomber -- as well as Timothy McVeigh and the people who protest against gay rights at military funerals -- are Christians but we journalists don’t identify them by their religion. (I Was Fired for Telling the Truth.)
Actually, of course, news reports in 1995 did note that Timothy McVeigh was a Catholic, although these news reports failed to mention that he was not a practicing Catholic.
Similarly the man who bombed Centennial Olympic Park on July 27, 1996, Eric Rudolph, was identified as a member of a Protestant white supremacist group at the time of his arrest on May 31, 2003.
And, of course, the Protestants who protest at military funerals are identified quite regularly as "Christians."
Mr. Williams's article, therefore, although an honest account of what happened to him, does suffer from a bit of "special pleading" (making the facts fit his argument) and it does attempt to make the specious argument that "radical" Mohammedans do not represent Mohammedanism, something that is simply not true.
Oh, wait! I'm not being politically correct. Maybe I will lose my job? That's right, I don't have one of those, do I? All right. I will go on with the article.
The rest of the first-hand account of his firing written by Juan Williams is, obviously, a quite telling statement about the extent to which it has become quite acceptable to dismiss people arbitrarily because they have violated the "sacred code" of what it is considered to be beyond question by the self-appointed
Gatekeepers of the Mainstream. Those who profess to be so concerned about "tolerance" are actually the most intolerant people
One can run afoul of the fascists who compose the naturalist "left" in any number of ways. Here are just a few things that can cause one to be calumniated by the use of slogans as the means to cease debate and to cause the castigated to beg for forgiveness as he does public penance for his "thought crimes" as he seeks psychiatric help for his "mental illness:"
Open opposition to chemical and/or surgical baby-killing.
Open opposition to the promotion of perverse sins against the Sixth and Ninth Commandments and/or open opposition to the advocacy of special "rights" for those who commit such sins.
Open opposition to classroom instruction in matters pertaining to the Sixth and Ninth Commandments.
Overt criticism of the policies of the State of Israel.
Even hinting at the role played by adherents of the Talmud in the promotion of various evils in this nation and the coarsening of the popular culture.
Questioning the wisdom of the policies of Barack Hussein Obama or attempting to tell the truth about what is contained in ObamaCare.
Explaining that evolutionism is a disproved ideology, not scientific fact.
Criticizing blasphemies against Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ that are placed into motion pictures, television programs, theatrical plays (on Broadway and elsewhere), and elsewhere in the popular culture.
Asserting that Catholicism is the one and only true religion and that it alone is the sole foundation of personal and social order.
Worse yet, maintaining a steadfast fidelity to the Social Reign of Christ the King as one attempts to exhort others to recognize that the proximate root cause of the problems of Modernity are the result of the Protestant Revolution against this Reign of Christ the King.
There are so many other examples. Time and my utter lack of energy do not permit more than this brief synopsis of what can get one stigmatized by the fascists in the thought police of the naturalist "left," people who really do believe that one must be "mentally ill" to deviate from what they assert is true and good.
Too strong?
Guess again.
The director of National Propaganda Radio, Vivian Schiller, told an audience in Atlanta, Georgia, yesterday, Friday, October 22, 2010, that Juan Williams "
should have kept his feeling about Muslims between himself and 'his psychiatrist or his publicist'" (NPR CEO Apologizes For 'Psychiatrist' Remark), later "apologizing" for her statement.
As has been shown lately in the speeches given by Caesar Barackus Obamus Ignoramus that have sought to blame the voters for not accepting his own efforts to save the country, the reigning caesar really did mean it in 2008 when he disparaged those backwater voters in rural parts of Pennsylvania who "cling" to guns and religion. I have no doubt but that Vivian Schiller, who gives the truly bigoted Nina Totenberg free reign to spout off her hatred for any dissent from the leftist agenda (see
Is Nina Totenberg Next?), really believes in her own arrogant, condescending way that Juan Williams should express his fear of seeing a Mohammedan board an airplane to a psychiatrist that he does not have or need.
What Juan Williams does need, of course, is to convert to the Catholic Faith. He is well disposed to speak the truth as he knows it to be. Such a person could be a powerful force in behalf of Christ the King if he responded to the graces that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is willing to send Him through the loving hands of His Most Blessed Mother, she who is the Mediatrix of All Graces, to convert to the true Faith and to abandon all vestiges of trust placed in any naturalistic philosophy, whether of the "left" or of the "right."
Will you join me in praying for his conversion?
Will you join me in praying for the conversion of the United States of America and all other nations to the true Faith?
Will you join me in giving thanks to Our King, Christ the King, for having given us the prophetic warnings issued by His true popes about these times of ours, warnings that make it possible for us to think and to speak clearly as we see the events of this world through the eyes of the true Faith?
Our weapon in these times has to be the same as that used by Catholics throughout the past eight hundred years: Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary. Pray the Rosary. Pray the Rosary. Pray the Rosary.
We must enfold ourselves into the love of the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus as we make reparation for our own many sins, which are so responsible for the worsening of the state of the Church Militant on earth and of the world-at-large, as we seek to restore all things in Christ the King and Mary our Immaculate Queen.
The enemies of Christ the King within in our souls and in the world-at-large will be defeated by Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary and the fulfillment of her Fatima Message.
Have every confidence that this will be so!
Isn't it time to pray a Rosary now?
Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us!
Vivat Christus Rex! Viva Cristo Rey!
Saint Joseph, pray for us.
