Still Trying To Win It Ugly

by Thomas A. Droleskey

The deal with Stalin was struck the following night. It was the culmination of a series of contacts between the Soviet and German governments which went right back to the weeks following Lenin's putsch. They had been conducted, according to need, by army experts, secret policemen, diplomats or intermediaries on the fringe of the criminal world. They had been closer at some periods than others but they had never been wholly broken and they had been characterized throughout by total disregard for the ideological principles which either party ostensibly professed a contempt, indeed, for any consideration other than the most brutal mutual interest-the need of each regime to arm, to arrest and kill its opponents, and to oppress its neighbours. For two decades this evil stream of exchanges had flowed underground. Now at last it broke the surface. That night of 23-4 August there was a gruesome junket in the Kremlin. Ribbentrop reported: 'It felt like being among old party comrades.' He was as much at ease in the Kremlin, he added, 'as among my old Nazi friends'. Stalin toasted Hitler and said he 'knew how much the German people loved the Fuhrer'. There were brutal jokes about the Anti-Comintern Pact, now dead, which both sides agreed had been meant simply to impress the City of London and 'English shopkeepers'. There was sudden discovery of a community of aims, methods, manners and, above all, of morals. As the tipsy killers lurched around the room, fumblingly hugging each other, they resembled nothing so much as a congregation of rival gangsters, who had fought each other before, and might do so again, but were essentially in the same racket. (Paul Johnson, Modern Times: The World from the Twenties to the Nineties, Revised Edition, HarperCollins, 1991, p. 360.)

Although the murderous Nazis of Adolf Hitler's Third Reich and the Bolsheviks who had inherited the mantle of the murderous Vladimir Lenin under the leadership of the murderous Josef Stalin differed in various ways, both sets of murderers were committed to socialism, that is, to state control of the economy. The National Socialists of the Hitler's so-called "Third Reich" believed in a national form of socialism based upon the racialist myths of the "supremacy" of the Aryan people, who were "destined" to control the world for a millennium. The Communists of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics believed (and still believe, it should be pointed out) in an international form of socialism based upon the principles of "dialectical materialism" of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels as refined and adapted by Vladimir Lenin. Despite the various ideological differences, many of which were colored by old-fashioned, unreconstructed nationalism and the long antipathy between Germany and Russia over the centuries, both sets of murderers shared, as historian Paul Johnson pointed out in Modern Times: The World from the Twenties to the Nineties, "a community of aims, methods, manners and, above all, of morals" that united them in a common purpose, recognizing that they could oppose each other in the. future.

Such expediency, born in the politics of amorality (human actions undertaken without regard for their moral correctness), must characterize human relations when men are not possessed of the true Faith and are thus not concerned about the moment of their Particular Judgment, which can occur at any time. Fallen nature being what it is, of course, even those who are possessed of the true Faith can lose their Catholic minds in the heat of various "battles," desiring to win at all costs even if it means forfeiting moral right in order to "defeat" their "enemies." Truth? Logic? Assessing each situation clearly and rationally in a spirit of dispassion without recourse to emotion or favoritism? Perish the thought. Those who permit amorality to grip their immortal souls will do anything to "win" even though by doing so they may very well forfeit their eternal salvation, being unable to wait for the only vindication that matters, that which is revealed to everyone at the General Judgment of the living and the dead. So what if men think ill of us now? So what? It is good to be ill-considered by our fellow men, especially if we are not guilty of any particular accusation made against us as God, in the exercise of His infinite mercy and justice, permits us to suffer unjust accusations in order that we might be make reparation for the many times when we have been the beneficiaries of undeserved praise from our fellow men. Everything gets revealed on the Last Day. Everything, including the intentions of all hearts and the exact circumstances of each our lives.

If it is hard for many believing and reasonably well-formed Catholics to accept these simple truths, we should not be surprised to find that many non-Catholics and poor formed Catholics never take account of them. Such people must always settle "scores" to vindicate themselves before men even when they are, objectively speaking, wrong and have been guilty of enabling grave injustice or serve as accomplices in seeking to excuse or to minimize such injustices that have wounded the souls of others.

Empirical proof of these simple observations can be had by simply paying even cursory attention to the Circus of the Midget Naturalists that takes place every two and four years. All manner of self-seekers with scores to settle pounce on those against whom they have harbored grudges of one sort or another for years. It makes no difference whether the battles take place in the organized crime family of the naturalist "left" or that of the false opposite of the naturalist "right." The battles are the same.

To wit, the all-out assault upon the reckless pathological liar and blowhard named Newton Leroy Gingrich, a convert to the corrupted version of Catholicism that exists in the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism, by the scions of the Republican establishment are nothing new. These assaults might appear to be "new" to those with very short memories. However, they are not "new" at all.

Former President Theodore Roosevelt and his hand-picked successor and fellow Freemason, President William Howard Taft, engaged in a pitched battle for the Republican Party presidential nomination one hundred years ago this year.

Retired United States Army General Dwight David Eisenhower and President Taft's son, United States Senator Robert Taft, Sr. (R-Ohio), engaged in a similar pitched battle forty years later, that is, in 1952.

It was twelve years thereafter that the full weight of the Republican establishment was brought to bear against the pro-abortion, pro-contraception "champion of liberty," United States Senator Barry Goldwater (R-Arizona), whose first wife, Margaret, had worked with Margaret Sanger to found Planned Parenthood in Arizona, as the likes of New York Governor Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller and Pennsylvania Governor William Scranton tried to stop him from being the party's nominee.

Twelve years after that, in 1976, the Republican establishment rallied around the nation's only president to have acceded to that office after having been appointed and confirmed as vice president under terms of the Twenty-sixth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America, Gerald Rudolph Ford, Jr., to prevent the nomination of former California Governor Ronald Wilson Reagan, whose economic policies were denounced in 1980 by former United States Representative/former United States Ambassador to the United Nations/former Chairman of the Republican National Committee/former Chief of the Liaison Office to Red China/former Director of the Untied States Central Intelligence Agency George Herbert Walker Bush as "voodoo economics," something that he later denied ever having said.

Then Vice President George Herbert Walker Bush and then Majority Leader of the United States Senate, Robert Joseph Dole, Jr., engaged in a fiercely bitter battle for the Republican Party presidential nomination in 1988. Dole told Bush to "stop lying about my record" when they appeared in an interview with NBC-TV News's Tom Brokaw via remote satellite hook-up after he, Dole, lost the New Hampshire primary to Bush on February 16, 1988. The two later mended fences, becoming fast friends. Indeed, Bush the Elder considers the man who defeated him for re-election to the presidency in 1992, William Jefferson Blythe Clinton, as a "son," and Bush the Lesser, George Walker Bush, considers his predecessor, Clinton, as a "brother." One only has to look today at the camaraderie between the two men who went after each after hammer and thong at this time in 2008, United States Senator John Sidney McCain III (R-Arizona) and former Massachusetts Governor Willard Mitt Romney to see that the fights among some naturalists, although intense, are simply for power and are rarely characterized by any true philosophical differences.

The naturalists of the false opposite of the "left" have engaged in their own knock-down, drag-out Pier 6 brawls.

United States Senator Edward Moore Kennedy (D-Massachusetts, see Another Victim of Americanism; Behold The Free Rein Given to Error; Unfortunate Enough to Be A Baby; Unfortunate Enough to Be A Baby; Beacon of Social Justice?; Spotlight On The Ordinary; What's Good For Teddy Is Good For Benny; Sean O'Malley: Coward and Hypocrite: More Rationalizations and Distortions) and then President James Earl Carter, Jr., slugged it out thirty-two years ago as the latter was challenged for renomination by the former. The two men never got over this rift, highlighted by Carter, then the President of the United States of America, chasing all around the podium following the conclusion of his acceptance address at the Democratic National Convention on August 14, 1980, at Madison Square Garden in the City of New York, New York, to try to get Kennedy to pose with him for a "unity" photograph. Kennedy, having been tracked down by Carter, permitted the president to raise his right arm and then forced a smile. There was no love lost in that grudge match.

Remember United States Senator Paul Tsongas (D-Massachusetts) calling Arkansas Governor William Jefferson Blythe Clinton the "pander bear" in 1992?

Remember way, way, way back to 2008 when a first-term United States Senator, Barack Hussein Obama (D-Illinois), and a second term United States Senator, Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-New York), were pretty petulant in their exchanges (with former President Clinton even angrier than his wife)?

Yes, these battles come and go in the naturalist fraud that is the Circus of the Midget Naturalists.

Sometimes, however, the battles are for real, based in personality grudges that various naturalist midgets are determined to take to their graves.

Such has long been the case with the aforementioned Robert Joseph Dole, Jr., a man who was embittered when he was a young man, especially after he was seriously wounded while acting with great valor in a battle against Nazi forces in northern Italy in April of 1945, who said "Win it ugly" to his campaign staff in New Hampshire after Patrick Joseph Buchanan, after the latter came within three percentage points of defeating him in the Iowa causes on Monday, February 12, 1996. Dole lost the New Hampshire primary to Buchanan eight days later, sending out one Republican "big gun" after another to denounce Buchanan as an "anti-Semite" and "racist" and a "bigot." United States Senator Alfonse M. D'Amato (R-New York), went to a Talmudic synagogue in Rego Park, Queens, New York, to denounce Buchanan. New York City Mayor Rudolph William Giuliani and New York Governor George Elmer Pataki, both of whom are pro-abort members of the counterfeit church of conciliarism, joined in the battle to carry water for Dole as they savaged Buchanan.

Thus it is that Dole's current attack in Newton "Leroy" Gingrich is nothing new. It is quite typical of Robert Joseph Dole, Jr., a thirty-third degree Mason who hails originally from Russell, Kansas, which was also the boyhood home of former United States Senator Arlen Specter (D-R-D, Pennsylvania)--who was briefly a candidate for the 1996 Republican presidential nomination precisely to denounce Buchanan as a "bigot", to hold grudges and to seek a chance to settle "scores" with those he believes have aggrieved him in the past. It is also very cheeky for a man who ran thoroughly incompetent campaign against William Jefferson Blythe Clinton to weigh in against Gingrich, who once described him quite accurately as a "water boy for the welfare state."

Mind you, readers of this site known that I carry no brief for any of the Midget Naturalists, including former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Newton Leroy Gingrich. It is interesting,  nevertheless, to see the extent to which the midget naturalists imitate a lot of traditionally-minded Catholics (or is it the other way around?--sometimes I wonder) will engage in outright thuggery and intellectual dishonesty to "win" a battle against a fellow traveler. The camp of Willard Mitt Romney has been doing this with Moon Man Gingrich, going so far as to try use a former official in the administration of the late President Ronald Wilson Reagan to claim that Gingrich was not a fervent Reagan supporter, a claim that is simply untrue (see Elliott Abrams, NRO Caught Misleading on Gingrich).

Newton Leroy Gingrich certainly does carry a great deal of personal baggage. It is, though, very laughable to see some of the very same people who defended former President William Jefferson Blythe Clinton against the revelations concerning his legendary womanizing that came out during his campaign for the Democratic Party presidential nomination in 1992 tell us now that a candidate's character matters even though they had said twenty years ago that the character of a candidate's private life should not matter at all to voters. Perhaps the most hypocritical in this regard is Vice President Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., a documented plagiarist, expressing his own concerns about "character" (see Biden: Voters Will Judge Gingrich 'On Totality of Who He Is). Perhaps Biden means that marital cheating is wrong and stealing the words of others is no big deal? Perhaps Biden means that it's terrible to cheat on one's wife, which it is--it's a Mortal Sin, but all right to defy God and support the chemical and surgical execution of innocent preborn children?

The whole farce of American electoral politics is replete with hypocrisy and error and disinformation. Yet it is that some people continue to Hope Against Hope In But Mere Mortals and Their Dreams, subordinating their most fervently held beliefs in order to support someone who is no friend of Christ the King and His Catholic Church.

Richard John Santorum, the Pro-Life Statist with a trigger finger itching for a war with Iran? He's your candidate?

Willard Mitt Romney, the man who gave us RomneyCare, the prototype for ObamaCare, and who said, in essence, two nights ago now that American policy in the Middle East will be decided by the "Jewish state," the man who has supported abortion in campaigns and as Governor of Massachusetts (see (Mitt Romney Used Polls to Determine Campaign Position on Abortion, Mitt Romney Not Only Gave Money to Planned Parenthood, He Gave It Power and, for a very comprehensive review of Willard Mitt Romney's supposed "conversion" on the issue on abortion, How Pro-Life Is Mitt Romney?). He's your candidate?

Newton Leroy Gingrich, who is nothing other than an Alvin Toffler "visionary" futurist, the man who wants to spend billions in an effort to "colonize" the moon (a feat that is technologically feasible but fiscally prohibitive as well as being completely unnecessary), the man who makes many misstatements of fact about his own actions?

Ronald Paul, who has personally prescribed the baby-killing potion known as "the pill" in the belief that it does not kill a living human being even though it does (see The Pill Kills - 2011 - How The Pill Kills) and who believes that state legislatures have the authority to pass legislation that permits or restricts various social evils, concluding surgical abortion and "gay marriage," if it is the "will of the people" in those states as expressed by popular referenda and/or by state legislatures? He's you candidate?

The fix is in. Willard Mitt Romney will be the nominee of the false opposite of the naturalist "right" this year, and he will lose to the reigning caesar, Barack Hussein Obama. "Democrats-lite" like Romney always lose to real socialists like Obama. Always. Such is the farce of our system, where winning it "ugly" is all that matters, and no want can get uglier someone like Obama and his henchmen.

Readers can believe what they want. They can do what they want.

I, however, will never tire of reminding one and all that Catholicism is the one and only foundation of personal and social order. We are not going to vote our way out of this chastisement, which is well deserved for our own sins and those of this country's. The way out of this mess runs through Our Lady's Fatima Message and the Triumph of her Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart.

Continue to pray the Rosary.

Praying the Rosary, good readers, is not doing "nothing." Indeed, it is the most valuable use of our time to convert our nation and the world to the Social Reign of Christ the King and of Mary our Immaculate Queen, and no Catholic, especially those who have access to the forums provided by the mass media, who refuses to exhort one and all to pray the Rosary for such a conversion of men and their nations to true Faith is a true patriot of his nation or a true friend to his fellow citizens.

Each part of our social life should help us to get home to Heaven as members of the Catholic Church, outside of which there is no salvation. Each part of our popular culture should redound to our sanctification and salvation. There can never be a time when First and Last Things are not first and foremost in our minds, in our hearts, on our lips and attested to by our actions, especially as we perform the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Most Sacred Heart through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Remember this and remember it well: The only antidote to secularism and naturalism and all of the evils that flow wherefrom is Catholicism, and nothing else. We must be professedly and avowedly Catholics from the top of our heads to the tip of our toes, never shrinking from our willingness to live in accord with this exhortation made to us by Pope Leo XIII in Sapientiae Christianae, January 10, 1890:

The chief elements of this duty consist in professing openly and unflinchingly the Catholic doctrine, and in propagating it to the utmost of our power. For, as is often said, with the greatest truth, there is nothing so hurtful to Christian wisdom as that it should not be known, since it possesses, when loyally received, inherent power to drive away error. So soon as Catholic truth is apprehended by a simple and unprejudiced soul, reason yields assent. (Pope Leo XIII, Sapientiae Christianae, January 10, 1890.)

What Pope Leo XIII said to Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini applies to us:

"Let us work, Cabrini, let us work, for after there is a beautiful paradise."

"I like to work, Your Holiness, but will paradise be ours?"

"Certainly, paradise is for those who work like you. Courage, Cabrini, on with your work...onward until death." The Holy Father pronounced those last words with such ardor that all who heard him were deeply impressed. When he reached the entrance to his apartments he turned and repeated: "Let us work, Cabrini, let us work." Mother Cabrini followed him with her eyes until he was out of sight; she was radiant with joy, for the Supreme Pontiff had promised her heaven if she continued her work." (Mother Cabrini, pp. 91-92.)

On with our work! Onward until death! Isn't time for you to pray a Rosary for the Triumph of Our Lady's Fatima Message and the restoration of the Church Militant on earth and of the Social Kingship of Our Lord in the world?
