More Than A Matter of Legality

by Thomas A. Droleskey

There was a time back in my days as a indulterer in the conciliar structures when I used to cover the annual meetings of the then named National Conference of Catholic Bishops/United States Catholic Conference, now called the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. To say that the meetings were surreal is to understate the total lack of contact with reality demonstrated by the agenda and the tenor of those meetings.

One "bishop," now deceased, for whom I once work as his director of communications and ghost writer, told me in 1988 that he sat as close as possible to the back of the hall where the meeting was held so as to escape from its oppressive proceedings as much as he could. Another "bishop" (now an "archbishop") told me when I dined with him in 1991 that he deplored the overwhelming concern with the careerist ambitions of "bishops" desirous of promoting themselves for a more prestigious appointment. And several people who once worked in chancery offices, as I did in 1988-1989, told me that the leftist, Modernist apparatchiks who work at the headquarters of the "bishops'" conference in Washington, D.C., were so intent on muting the voices of the "conservatives" among he men who believed themselves to be true Successors of the Apostles in this country that they deliberately inundated diocesan them and their staffs with oceans of paperwork just prior to the "bishops'" annual meeting so as to blunt any effective and informed opposition to their nefarious schemes to arrogate unto themselves what belonged to the "bishops."

After viewing the way in which the conciliar "bishops" closed ranks around the "Bishop" Daniel Ryan, the now thoroughly disgraced former conciliar "ordinary" of Springfield, Illinois, in 1997 once the founder and President of Roman Catholic Faithful, Inc, Stephen G. Brady, had accused him of gross, perverse misconduct against two of his own priests, I helped to organize a conference that year on the state of what I thought in all good conscience was the Church in this country that was held on the Sunday before the "bishops" began their annual meeting. The conference featured Mr. Brady, attorney James Bendell, the late Dr. William A. Marra, Sr., Mrs. Judith Ammenhauser of Mothers' Watch, and yours truly. It was a comprehensive review of some of the chief problems facing what I know now to be a false church, the counterfeit church of conciliarism, including the hostility of most of the conciliar "bishops" towards the Immemorial Mass of Tradition.

Many of us stayed for the next three days to pray Our Lady's Most Holy Rosary in front of the Hyatt Regency Hotel, the location of the "bishops'" meetings. Led by Father John T. Murphy, the courageous head of the Save the Babies Foundation, we prayed over one hundred Rosaries during those three days. Stephen Brady held a sign detailing Bishop Ryan's disgraceful behavior. And Mr. Frank Kelly, the head of Virginia Right to Life (a completely pro-life organization that has no links whatsoever to the partly pro-life/partly pro-abortion National Right to Life Committee, which had its origins as an arm of the United States Catholic Conference back in 1969), went up to the then "Apostolic Nuncio," "Archbishop" Agostino Cacciavillan, to tell him that his betrayal of the trust of the priests who had written to him to document their charges against Ryan (Cacciavillan sent the letters to Ryan, thereby violating his promise to the priests that their confidentiality would be maintained) was criminal.

A former lieutenant colonel in the United States Marines, Mr. Kelly, then a senior legislative aide for national security affairs to United States Senator Daniel Inouye, walked right up to Cacciavillan, poking his finger right in the phony prelate's chest, telling him that he belonged in jail for how he had betrayed the priests. "Archbishop" Cacciavillan, who was "Papal Nuncio" to the United States from 1990 to 1998, received endless letters from Catholics complaining about how American "bishops" were protecting perverted priests who had abused their own children. He did nothing to correct the problem. Nothing. He was rewarded for his years of protecting cowardly and corrupt members of the American conciliar "hierarchy" by receiving a "cardinal's" red hat from Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II in 2001.

Authorities in the counterfeit church of conciliarism in the Vatican have long viewed the complaints sent to them by ordinary Catholics in the pew as matters of legality, treating them with a dismissive attitude. Junior members of the conciliar clergy from around the world who were assigned to work according to their language groups in the various dicasteries were the ones usually charged with the responsibility of sending a perfunctory response to these complaints. One such letter that I sent in 1979 received a response from a presbyter whose title was that of "assessor," meaning that he would stamp a letter as received and indicate to the correspondent that its contents had been "duly noted."

This meant that the letter had been filed away and that the local "ordinary" about whom I had complained ("Bishop" John Raymond McGann of the Diocese of Rockville Centre in this particular instance) would receive a copy of the complaint to be kept in his file, which is why he referred to me as "that letter" writer when speaking to a former student of mine at Mac Arthur Park Restaurant in Rockville Centre four years later. The local "bishops" knew that complaints from the "pew" would receive only perfunctory treatment from the conciliar Vatican, consigning nasty complainers who tried to "work from the inside to restore the Church" to the netherworld of lunatics in the "conservative" fringe never to be taken seriously at the local or Vatican levels.

There was never a circumstance in the history of the Catholic Church prior to the aftermath of the "Second" Vatican Council, including the promulgation and implementation of the Protestant and Masonic Novus Ordo service, that officials in the Vatican had to handle the massive amounts of correspondence that has flooded over to Rome in the past forty years. Ecclesiastical bureaucrats are trained to handle each problem as a case unto itself. It is a closed matter once a response has been sent and a number stamped on the file. Ecclesiastical bureaucrats are not trained to look for universal trends, to see that complaints, for example, about liturgical abuses in one place are the same as those coming from other places.

This tunnel-vision is deliberately cultivated in chancery offices and in the dicasteries of the conciliar Vatican so as to avoid controversy and thus maximize one's rise up the career ladder in the Vatican and possibly to be a "bishop" back in one's home country. Controversy is not something that careerists desire to be involved with in the slightest. Any hint of controversy must be avoided. That individual souls who send earnest letters of complaint about serious matters are dealt with in a dismissive, perfunctory matter is just a regrettable fact as "Rome moves slowly" and it is best for "local problems" to be handled at the 'local level." It is this mentality, my good and very few readers, that has characterized the approach of officials in the conciliar Vatican to almost every complaint about every matter concerning the offenses against the Catholic Faith and the genuine worship of God that has characterized the aftermath of the "Second" Vatican Council and the entire history of the Novus Ordo service.

Some low to mid-level functionaries in the Vatican dicasteries could be said in the 1980s and 1990s to have had a casual "What postconciliar crisis?" as they responded perfunctorily to one heartfelt letter after another, making sure to spend their lunch hour profitably in the Borgo Pio near the Vatican for a nice bowl of pasta before returning to their afternoon duties. Conversations centered around promotion and recognition. To that end, of course, anything that would smack of threatening the "power structure" was unthinkable, yes, even if this meant that the suffering sheep at the "local" level would receive no satisfaction from them. Tough.

Yes, certainly, there are individual "success" stories that various members of the laity, including me, can relate about their experiences with officials in the conciliar Vatican, including the time back in 1983 when Silvio "Cardinal" Oddi, the prefect of the conciliar Congregation for the Clergy intervened to save a "conservative" pastor on Long Island whose removal was being sought by the aforementioned "Bishop" John Raymond McGann. There have been a few other such cases over the past four decades, albeit they have been few and very, very far between. (See Hunkered Down on Mindanao for a bit more of the narrative of this story.)

In order to try to have any real effective influence with Vatican officials back in the 1980s and 1990s one had to have access to a copy of the Annuario Pontificio to get the address of certain Vatican officials so as to bypass the "assessors." Only after one's credibility had been established with a senior curial "cardinal" or one of his very top deputies could one use his initial contact as a means of gaining access to other curial offices with a letter of introduction. Very few Catholics in the pew had the time or the wherewithal to proceed in this manner, relying on the "letter to Vatican" that got numbered and then sent back to the local "bishop," who then made sure that the letter writer suffered for having written his letter.

Very typical in this regard was the experience of "conservative" Catholics who tried to oppose programs and books used in explicit classroom instruction in matters pertaining to the Sixth and Ninth Commandments in the 1970s and 1980s. Despite the encouraging remarks that some of these Catholics received from the late Edouard "Cardinal" Gagnon, the President of the "Pontifical" Council for the Family from 1974 to 1990, the American "bishops" got their way time and time again as their egregious programs were approved by other officials in the conciliar Vatican for use in conciliar schools and conciliar "religious education" programs. Opposing such programs was one of the chief projects of Catholics United for the Faith throughout the 1980s and into the 1990s. Efforts by groups such as Mothers' Watch to take up the opposition in the 1990s have met with almost no success in the conciliar Vatican (see Bishops -- Good and Bad for the Mothers' Watch description of such education was insinuated into conciliar schools). The "bishops" win almost every confrontation over matters such as this one effected by lay people still attached to the conciliar structures.

Also quite typical of the efforts of Catholics in the conciliar structures attempting to "work from within to restore the Church" was the time in 1996 when an unnamed reporter (just can't think of that man's name right now) for The Wanderer delivered information personally to the office of the prefect of the conciliar Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the then Joseph "Cardinal" Ratzinger, concerning the sponsorship by a presbyter in the Diocese of Rockville Centre of the fake, phony, fraud "seer" Vassula Ryden even though Ratzinger just year previously had banned Catholics in the conciliar structures from sponsoring her in any way. "Cardinal" Ratzinger issued a reaffirmation of his ban after the information was presented to him by an American aide who had met with the reporter. True to his paradoxical self, however, "Cardinal" Ratzinger muddied the waters in 2002 when inviting Ryden to meet with him to answer five questions, which he later instructed to be published in her "diaries" of her alleged "visions" of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The matter remains muddied as William "Cardinal" Levada has reaffirmed the 1995 ban on Catholics participating in Vassula Ryden's activities while some members of the conciliar hierarchy continue to support her quite openly and enthusiastically. Few things are ever "settled" in the unsettled mind of Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI.

It should not be surprising at all to find that in 1985 the then Joseph "Cardinal" Ratzinger would have treated the request for the laicization of a priest, Father Stephen Kiesle, who had been pleaded nolo contendere to misdemeanor charges of child molestation, in a very careful, legalistic manner. "Cardinal" Ratzinger was looking at the individual case with a view to how laicization would affect what he considered to be the greater good of the Catholic Church, believing that the matter of assuring that Father Kiesle was kept from harming more children was a "local" one that rested with his "bishop," the revolutionary named John Cummins of the Diocese of Oakland. In other words, there is nothing at all out of the ordinary in the fact that the then "Cardinal" Ratzinger took four years to respond to the initial request that "Bishop" Cummins had made for the laicization of Father Kiesle.

The Vatican operated in a slow, deliberative manner in the days of true popes; it acts in a slow, deliberative manner under false "popes." The existence of worldwide crises of the scope that we have seen occur in the past forty years, crises that are truly without precedent in the history of the Catholic Church as they have occurred within her counterfeit ape, the conciliar church, must be minimized as the clerical wagons are circled to shoot any messenger who happens to come along to point out that it is not "business as usual" when souls are being scandalized by a worldwide loss of Faith and by a worldwide, systematic recruitment of men inclined to commit perverse acts against the Sixth and Ninth Commandments into the conciliar presbyterate and hierarchy. This systematic recruitment of perverts into the conciliar structures has tainted practically every diocese now in the control of the conciliar church and it has turned most of the older, more established religious communities into nothing other than open dens of moral sewage. The real crime in the actions of Joseph "Cardinal" Ratzinger and other conciliar officials in the 1980s is that they failed, whether advertently or inadvertently, to recognize this fact and to deal with it forthrightly.

Indeed, there is no conciliar official in the Vatican at this time who is willing to admit, at least not publicly, the simple fact that Giovanni Montini/Paul VI, who was accused of being a member of the lavender brigade, appointed numerous men to the conciliar hierarchy who were either directly involved in perverted behavior or were, at the very least supportive of it. Consider this material from Mrs. Randy Engel's book, The Rite of Sodomy, which accepts the "legitimacy" of the conciliar "pontiffs:"

[Atila[ Guimarães quotes Franco Bellegrandi, a former member of the Vatican Noble Guard, part of the papal military corps, who witnessed the unfortunate changes that occurred at the Vatican after Pope Paul VI took office.

Bellegrandi repeats the charge that while Archbishop of Milan, Montini, dressed in civilian clothes, was picked up by the local police on one of the archbishop's nocturnal visits to the male brothels of the city.

The former Vatican guard describes the homosexual colonization process that he says began under Pope John XXIII, but which accelerated under Montini's rule--a process with [which] the reader should by now be thoroughly familiar. Bellegrandi says that old employees were turned out of their jobs at the Vatican to make room for Montini's favored brethren afflicted with the same vice. They in turn brought along their favorite catamites--"effeminate young men wearing elegant uniforms and make-up on their faces to dissimulate their beards," says Bellegrandi.

Bellegrandi says that he was told by an official of the Vatican security service that Montini's actor friend was permitted free access to the pontifical apartments and was seen taking the elevator late at night.

One of the statements made by Bellegrandi that attracted my attention was that Montini no sooner took office than he was subject to blackmail by Italian Freemasons. In exchange for their silence regarding Archbishop Montini's furtive sojourns to Switzerland to rendezvous with his actor-lover, who appears to have been quite open about his relationship with the prelate, the Masons demanded that the pope eliminate the Church's traditional ban on cremation after death. The pope complied. (Mrs. Randy Engel, The Rite of Sodomy, p. 1156)

An elderly gentleman from Paris who worked as an official interpreter for high-level clerics at the Vatican in the early 1950s told this writer that the Soviets blackmailed Montini into revealing the names of priests whom the Vatican had clandestinely sent behind the Iron Curtain to minister to Catholics in the Soviet Union during the Cold War. The Soviet secret police were on hand as soon as the priests crossed over the Russian border and the priest infiltrators were either shot or sent to the gulag.

The extent to which Pope Paul VI was subject to blackmail by the enemies of the Church will probably never be known. It may be that, in so far as the Communists and the Socialists were concerned, blackmail was entirely unnecessary given Montini's cradle to grave fascination and affinity for the Left. On the other hand, the Italian Freemasons, M16, the OSS and later the CIA and the Mafia were likely to have used blackmail and extortion against Montini beginning early in his career as a junior diplomat, then as Archbishop of Milan and finally as Pope Paul VI.

There can be no question that Pope Paul VI's homosexuality was instrumental in the paradigm shift that saw the rise of the Homosexual Collective in the Catholic Church in the United States, at the Vatican and around the world in the mid-20th century.

Pope Paul VI played a decisive role in the selection and advancement of many homosexual members of the American hierarchy, including Joseph Cardinal Bernardin, Terence Cardinal Cooke, John Cardinal Wright and Archbishop Rembert Weakland and Bishops George H. Guilfoyle, Francis Mugavero, Joseph Hart, Joseph Ferrario, James Rausch and their heirs.

The knowledge that a homosexual sat in the Chair of Peter--knowledge that spread like wild-fire on the "gay" gossip circuit--would certainly have served as an inducement for homosexual men to aspire to the priesthood and even prompt them to contemplate the unthinkable--a religious order or community composed exclusively of sodomites.

Most important, the long-guarded quasi-secret of Paul VI's homosexual life has, for decades, contributed to the silence and cover-up by the American hierarchy on the issue of homosexuality in general and the criminal activities of pederast priests in particular.

But it is a secret no longer.

The final piece of the puzzle has been put in place.

"Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us." Mrs. Randy Engel, The Rite of Sodomy, pp. 1156-1157)

Fortunately, of course, Giovanni Montini/Paul VI was not a true pope, and he acted the part of a precursor of Antichrist with remarkable fidelity to apostasy and sacrilege.

Perhaps it was because of Montini/Paul VI's own predilections that refused to act on the sound recommendations made to him in 1963 by the head of the Servants of Holy Paraclete about what to do with clerical abusers (see Paul VI May Have Been Warned Of Pedophile Priests In 1963), although defenders all things conciliar are trying to assert that the late "pontiff" probably never saw the letter. That's right, no one is responsible for anything in the Vatican. No matter what conciliar defenders assert, Giovanni Montini/Paul VI certainly made his own "contribution" to the crisis that has exploded in recent years and caused so many dioceses in conciliar captivity to sell off their assets to pay the damages that been awarded to the victims of corrupt clergymen.

To, wit, the infestation of men sympathetic to or involved perversity in the conciliar hierarchy and presbyterate in the United States of America began to explode during the ten years, 1970 to 1980, that Archbishop Jean Jadot served as Paul VI's "Apostolic Delegate" in the United States of America. Jadot almost single-handedly filled the conciliar hierarchy with effeminate clerics who were squishy-soft on most major moral issues, to say nothing, of course, of their total support for the liturgical and doctrinal revolutions of conciliarism. The conciliar church in the United States of America is still reaping the rotten fruit of the Jadot appointments as the men who were elevated to the conciliar "episcopate" created a whole generation of "successors," at least in some regions of the nation, who have sustained themselves ever since.

The crisis facing the conciliar Vatican is far more than a matter of legality and administrative due process, meaning not in the slightest to denigrate the importance of providing fair and just procedures to those accused of moral offenses. There does come a time, however, when simple Catholic common sense has to prevail as one recognizes that the scope of the crimes that have been committed by the conciliar clergy is no accident. It is the result of the recruitment, retention and promotion of moral derelicts into the conciliar presbyterate and "episcopate"--and the concomitant refusal on the part of those in the conciliar Vatican to recognize this fact and to admit it openly.

A counterfeit church whose "popes" can offend God regularly by praising false religions and entering into places of false worship is going to be characterized by one problem after another. No amount of letters sent to the local chancery office or to conciliar officials in the Vatican are going to "solve" problems that have their proximate root cause in defections from the Catholic Faith. One can no sooner "work from within" to "solve" problems in the false church of conciliarism than one can do so by "working from within" to "solve" the problems in any other false church, such as the Anglican sect. Falsehoods must lead to decay over the course of time.

This is what we are witnessing at present in the counterfeit church of conciliarism as a worldwide apostasy, carried as in a pandemic by the ethos of the Protestant and Masonic Novus Ordo service, has robbed men who think that they are "popes" and "bishops" of any capacity to think and to act as Catholics who are concerned first and foremost about the honor and glory and majesty of the Most Blessed Trinity and of the eternal good of the souls for whom Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ shed every single drop of His Most Precious Blood on the wood of the Holy Cross to redeem. There is no redeeming anything about the counterfeit church of conciliarism. It is beyond redemption as it is the work of the adversary and his minions in this world from start to finish.

Great glory is being given to the Most Blessed Trinity in many places today in the Catholic catacombs. We must thank Our Lord and Our Lady every day for the fidelity of our true bishops and our true priests who have not abused their own power to lord it over the faithful or to minimize bad behavior of subordinates, being conscious also of our obligation to seek to make reparation for our own past sins and blindness and stupidity and willful ignorance by offering up our prayers and sacrifices and humiliations to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Every Rosary we pray--and we should pray as many each day as our states-in-life permit--helps to make reparation for our own sins and those of the whole world. We must have confidence in Our Lady's intercessory power to help others as she has helped us, sinners who are no better than anyone else at all (!), to find a way out of the false church of conciliarism and into the glories of the Catholic catacombs where they can find concentrate on their own personal sanctification as the Faith is taught in all of its Holy Integrity.

Our Lord wants us to live in peace, not fight futile battles against men who have no authority in His Catholic Church, men who see problems in a "legalistic" sense without understanding that it is the very revolution that they helped to launch and institutionalize that is responsible for the "bad press" they are getting at this time.

May Our Lady help us to persevere as we seek to save our souls under the yoke of good shepherds who care about our salvation and not about their privileges.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, triumph soon!

Viva Cristo Rey! Vivat Christus Rex!

Isn't it time to pray a Rosary now?

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us!

Saint Joseph, Patron of Departing Souls, pray for us.

Saints Peter and Paul, pray for us.
