Having Developed An Immunity To Truth

Part One

by Thomas A. Droleskey

Most people today have developed an immunity to truth.

Permit me but a few moments to explain this to you in light of some developments of the past few days.

I. The "Popes" of Protestantism"

Although human beings have had a pronounced capacity to deny truth and rationalize their sinful behavior by using a variety of excuses, including blaming others, we live a time of unparalleled relativism. This is principally, although not exclusively, the result of Martin Luther's revolution against the Divine Plan that God Himself instituted to effect man's return to Him through His Catholic Church. Luther specifically desired to separate Church and State, which former Catholic princes of various German principalities used to govern in a Machiavellian power without "interference" from a pope in the exercise of the Social Reign of Christ the King.

Father Denis Fahey explained Martin Luther's strict adherence to the separation of Church and State:

"Assuredly," said Luther, "a prince can be a Christian, but it is not as a Christian that he ought to govern. As a ruler, he is not called a Christian, but a prince. The man is Christian, but his function does not concern his religion."  (as quoted in Father Denis Fahey in The Mystical City of Christ in the Modern World.)

The hideous lecher, drunk and theological revolutionary, Father Martin Luther, O.S.A., rejected these truths because he could not live in accord with the binding precepts of the Divine Positive Law an the Natural Law, preferring a life of wanton sin and debauchery to a simple cooperation with the graces won for us on the wood of the Holy Cross by Our King, Christ the King, on Good Friday and that flow into the hearts of souls of human beings through the loving hands of Our Lady, Mary our Immaculate Queen, she who is the Mediatrix of All Graces. Martin Luther projected his own abject refusal to reform his life onto the entirety of the Catholic Faith, refusing to accept the fact that he was solely responsible for his wanton life of sin and debauchery and for refusing to undertake the hard work to root out his sins in the Sacred Tribunal of Penance to scale the heights of personal sanctity.

To reaffirm himself in his life of sin, therefore, Martin Luther, the revolutionary tool of the devil, had to invent an entire theology designed to make it appear as though it was not necessary for man to humble himself before the true God of Divine Revelation by reforming one's life in cooperation with Sanctifying Grace, by undertaking penances to make reparation for one's sins, by being willing at all times and in all places to subordinate one's mind and will to that of the Divine Redeemer, Christ the King, in all that pertains to the good of his immortal soul.

Martin Luther thus dispensed with the truth that Christ the King established a visible, hierarchical community that is the Catholic Church.

Martin Luther thus dispensed with Sacred (or Apostolic) Tradition as one of the two sources of Divine Revelation.

Martin Luther thus helped to deify man by making him the sole interpreter of Sacred Scripture, meaning that men could come to mutually contradictory conclusions concerning the meaning of what was contained in Holy Writ, thus making a mockery of the work of God the Holy Ghost, Who inspired the writing of Sacred Scripture and Who has always guided the Catholic Church with the charism of infallibility as she has pronounced what books are indeed inspired (and thus part of the Bible) and the meaning of various passages.

Martin Luther's radical egalitarianism had to dispense with the concept of the Social Reign of Christ the King as there could be no visible, external check on the abuse of governmental authority if Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ did not establish His Holy Catholic Church as a visible, hierarchical community with the authority to intervene with civil officials as a last resort after discharging her Indirect Power of teaching, preaching and exhortation when the good of souls demands her motherly intervention. This is why some princes of German states gave the hideous, lecherous drunk Martin Luther their protection. They wanted to be free to govern in a purely Machiavellian manner without the "interference" of the Sovereign Pontiff in Rome or his duly appointed bishops.

What Martin Luther did not recognize was that his revolution, having rejected the very institution of the papacy itself as being founded by Christ the King Himself upon the Rock of Peter, the Pope, made it possible for other theological revolutionaries to start proselytizing in behalf of their own interpretations of Sacred Scripture on a equal footing with himself. Everyone is a "pope" or a "papessa" when one rejects the See of Peter as possessing from God Himself the sole right to govern men in all that pertains to their eternal salvation and to serve as the ultimate brake upon wayward civil leaders who put that salvation in jeopardy.

Although Luther set the events that shaped Modernity in motion, it was John Calvin's false theological precepts that helped to shape the specific contours of the modern civil state that has now reached the perfection of its own inherent degeneracy, total statism.

John Calving rejected articles contained in the Deposit of Faith that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has entrusted exclusively to His Catholic Church for their eternal safekeeping and infallible explication. Here is just a summary of of his heretical views (a summary that I provided in every single American Government course I taught between the Spring Semester of 1974 and my last year of full-time adjuncting--yes, I know that that is an oxymoronic phrase--in the 2002-2003 academic year and in my "Living in the Shadow of the Cross" lecture programs):

1) Along with Martin Luther, John Calvin rejected the truth that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ founded a visible, hierarchical Church upon the Rock of Peter, the Pope.

2) The absence of a visible, hierarchical Church meant that each individual believer was "equal" to other believers. Those who "presided" at liturgies were merely the representatives of the rest of the "community," in whose name and by whose selection they served in their "leading" capacities.

3) Calvin's warfare against a belief in the visible, hierarchical Church and his belief in the strict equality of all believers resulted in a vicious spirit of anticlericalism the unleashed a violent wave of assaults against Catholic priests in Switzerland and The Netherlands and France (See the appendices about the life and the martyrdom of Saint Fidelis of Sigmaringen and the Martyrs of Gorkum, victims each of the bloody band of men known as Calvinists, men who are actually disciples of the devil). The Calvinist spirit of anticlericalism is widespread in the world today, reflected most especially in the text of the Texas Declaration of Independence, March 1, 1836:

When the Federal Republican Constitution of their country [Mexico], which they have sworn to support, no longer has a substantial existence, and the whole nature of their government has been forcibly changed, without their consent, from a restricted federative republic, composed of sovereign states, to a consolidated central military despotism, in which every interest is disregarded but that of the army and the priesthood, both the eternal enemies of civil liberty, the everready minions of power, and the usual instruments of tyrants. (Texas Declaration of Independence, March 2, 1836.)

4) John Calvin believed that man is evil. That is, Calvin believed that man is totally corrupted by Original Sin. The Catholic Church teaches us that man is wounded by Original Sin, not totally corrupted. Those who are regenerated in the Baptismal font by having Original Sin flooded out of their souls and the very inner life of the Most Blessed Trinity flooded into their souls by means of Sanctifying Grace suffer from the vestigial after-effects of Original Sin, the darkened intellect and the weakened will and the overthrowing of the delicate balance between our higher, rational faculties and our lower, sensual passions in favor of the lower passions. Those so regenerated are not totally corrupted by Original Sin. Man is a good being who has a flawed nature that is inclined to commit evil. This is quite an important distinction that was rejected by John Calvin.

5) John Calvin believed that men were predestined by an arbitrary "God" to Heaven or Hell. Nothing that any man did on the face of this earth could change the face of his predestination to Heaven or Hell. In other words, the human being did not have a free will by which to choose to cooperate with the graces won for him on Calvary by the shedding of every single drop of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood that flow into our hearts and soul through the loving hands of Our Lady, she who is the Mediatrix of All Graces.

6) John Calvin believed that the purpose of civil government was to separate the "saved" from the "damned." That is, the civil government had the obligation to weed out the "undesirables," those who the arbitrary God had destined for Hell from all eternity. Obviously, the Catholic Church teaches us that God alone is the final judge of the subjective state of souls and that, barring private revelations given to genuine mystics or a declaration by the authority of the Catholic Church as she declares solemnly and infallible that a certain person is in Heaven, we do not know what happens to a given soul at the time of death. We do not know whether a particular person who was known as a notorious sinner or as an arch-heretic was given the grace to make a perfect Act of Contrition.

7) The basis upon which John Calvin believed that those in the civil government could separate the "saved" from the "damned" was the degree of their material success here on earth. John Calvin believed that material success was a sign of "divine election." Thus it is that we have the Calvinist "work ethic" as those who subscribe to Calvin's warped, heretical views of God and man work hard not to give honor and glory to the Most Holy Trinity through the Immaculate Heart of Mary but to show to others that they are "saved" by virtue of their material "success" in this passing, mortal vale of tears.

It is this seventh point, proceeding from all of the rest, that has provided the foundation for the modern economic system that has forced man off of the land and dehumanized him as he has been made a slave of "material success" by the captains of industry and banking. Calvinism, which is little more than Talmudic Judaism with a slight Christian gloss, has engendered all manner of economic abuses, not the least of which is the contemporary practice of usury (for a good discussion of how the Catholic Church has never changed her teaching on usury, please see The Church and Usury and The Red Herring of Usury),  founded in the belief that men may ignore the binding precepts of the Divine Positive Law and the Natural Law in order to be "successful" in this world. The injustices engendered by this amoral, naturalistic view of the world helped to encourage open atheists and anti-Theists, such as Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin, to postulate an utopian system of naturalism based upon a materialistic view of man that denied his supernatural essence. The diabolical lie of Marxism-Leninism is but the logical consequence of John Calvin's materialistic view of man that denied that there could be an Omnipotent and Omniscient God Who created rational beings with free wills to choose for or against Him as He has revealed Himself to us through His true Church.

Father Fahey elaborated on the effects of Protestantism, especially the warmed over version of Talmudic Judaism that is Calvinism, in The Mystical Modern of Christ in the Modern World:

It was, however, the Calvinistic doctrine on predestination and the signs by which a man's divine election could be recognized, which specially favored the advent of the unlimited competition, unscrupulous underselling and feverish advertising of the present day. In his able work, from which a passage has already been quoted, Professor O'Brien shows that it was in the peculiarly British variety of Calvinism, known as Puritanism, that all the Calvinist doctrines of succession life as a sign of man's predestination, of the respect and veneration due to wealth, had their fullest development.

"When all is said and done, Calvinism remains the real nursing-father of the civic industrial capitalism of the middle classes. . . . Since the aggressively active ethic inspired by the doctrine of predestination urges the elect to the full development of his God-given powers, and offers him this a sign by which he may assure himself of his election, work becomes rational and systematic. In breaking down the motive of ease and enjoyment, asceticism lays the foundation of the tyranny of work over men  . . . production for production's sake is declared to be a commandment of religion."

This has great application in every aspect of contemporary life. Most people work not for the honor and glory of God, thus giving him the fruit of their labors as the consecrated slaves of His Most Blessed Mother's Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, but for the sake of "success," to gain what is considered to be financial "wealth" and earthly "success" as ends that justify each and every method used to achieve such success. This has been the Calvinist "contribution" to the world, so enshrined in the ethos of the "American dream," which eschews the Holy Poverty of the Holy Family of Nazareth and of such great saints as Saint Francis of Assisi and his helper and fellow adorer of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Saint Clare of Assisi. Father Fahey quoted Gilbert Keith Chesterton's observation about the insidious influence of that wretched people known as the Puritans (or Pilgrims) in  a footnote on page sixteen of The Mystical Body of Christ in the Modern World:

"The Americans have established a Thanksgiving Day to celebrate the fact that the Pilgrim Fathers reached America. The English might very well establish another Thanksgiving Day to celebrate the happy fact that the Pilgrim Fathers left England."

The Protestants, however, were not alone in helping to usher in the world of amorality in commerce and politics and statecraft and popular culture, including what has become known as competitive sports.

The learned writer, Werner Sombart, in his great work, Die Juden and das Wirtschafsleben ("The Jews in Economic Life"), attributes the great, if not the deciding, role in the formation of the modern economic outlook or mentality to the Jewish race, for to them he attributes the introduction of the ideas of "free commerce" and "unchecked competition" into a society with quite different ideas. He points out the contrast between this Jewish mentality and the ordered outlook of the Middle Ages in phrases that are worthy of citation:--

"When we examine matters more closely . . . we shall immediately see that the struggle between Jewish and Christian merchants is a struggle between two views of the world, or, at least, between two economic mentalities imbued with principles that are different or even opposed. In order to understand this statement we must represent to ourselves the spirit which inspired that economic life into which, since the sixteenth century, Jewish elements have forced their way in ever increasing volume. To this spirit they openly showed themselves so rudely opposed that they were everywhere felt to be interfering with the livelihood and subsistence of the people. During the whole time which I have designated as the period of incipient capitalism . . . the same fundamental outlook on economic relations prevailed as had been accepted during the Middle Ages . . . The unrestrained, unbridled striving after gain was considered by most people during this whole period as unlawful, as unchristian, because the spirit of the old Thomistic economic philosophy as yet swayed men's minds, at least officially."

The Jewish mentality was opposed to the outlook on life impressed on society by the Catholic Church, for (:)

"the Jew stands out as the business man pure and simple, as the man who, in business, takes account only of business, and who in conformity with the spirit of true capitalist economy, proclaims, in the presence of all natural ends, the supremacy of gain and profit." (Father Denis Fahey, The Mystical Body of Christ in the Modern World.)

Has not the "supremacy of gain and profit" come to define almost every aspect of contemporary life, taking into account not at all the eternal good of our immortal souls? This "supremacy of gain and profit" results in the corruption of daily living, contributing to the naturalistic belief, which itself is founded in pantheism, as Father Fahey notes, that is, the man is "divine" and is above all. The achievement of our earthly goals is what defines us as human beings, and no "external" authority, such as the Catholic Church, had better get in our way of this achievement.

A final passage from Father Fahey will underscore this point:

The Jew it was, according to Sombart, who broke down the mentality of the Middle Ages and commercialized the relations of men.

Professor O'Brien dissents from Werner Sombart's thesis that the growth of the capitalistic spirit, the spirit of subordination of all other considerations to that of profit, was due to the Jews. He admits, however, that Sombart's contention would be quite correct, if for the "Jews" we substituted "Judaism," and he points out the importance of Calvin's justification of usury in preparing the way for modern developments. The Puritans adopted Old Testament ideas: the Old Testament idea of the reward of virtue in this world fitted in with the Puritan teaching about the fulfillment of one's vocation.

It is unnecessary for the purpose of this work to apportion responsibility for the triumph of what we may call the does it pay? mentality in the world, between Jews and Puritans. At any rate, if the Puritans subordinated men to production, the Jews completed the process, by subordinating production itself to money. The right order, of money as a means for production and production subservient to man, is now, as we now, reversed. (Father Denis Fahey, The Mystical Body of Christ in the Modern World.)

Professor George O'Brien, cited in Father Fahey's The Mystical Body of Christ in the Modern World, summarized his judgment about the effects of Protestantism upon the contemporary world in An Essay on the Economic Effects of the Reformation (IHS Press, Norfolk, Virginia, 2003):

The thesis we have endeavoured to present in this essay is, that the two great dominating schools of modern economic thought have a common origin. The capitalist school, which, basing its position on the unfettered right of the individual to do what he will with his own, demands the restriction of government interference in economic and social affairs within the narrowest  possible limits, and the socialist school, which, basing its position on the complete subordination of the individual to society, demands the socialization of all the means of production, if not all of wealth, face each other today as the only two solutions of the social question; they are bitterly hostile towards each other, and mutually intolerant and each is at the same weakened and provoked by the other. In one respect, and in one respect only, are they identical--they can both be shown to be the result of the Protestant Reformation.

We have seen the direct connection which exists between these modern schools of economic thought and their common ancestor. Capitalism found its roots in the intensely individualistic spirit of Protestantism, in the spread of anti-authoritative ideas from the realm of religion into the realm of political and social thought, and, above all, in the distinctive Calvinist doctrine of a successful and prosperous career being the outward and visible sign by which the regenerated might be known. Socialism, on the other hand, derived encouragement from the violations of established and prescriptive rights of which the Reformation afforded so many examples, from the growth of heretical sects tainted with Communism, and from the overthrow of the orthodox doctrine on original sin, which opened the way to the idea of the perfectibility of man through institutions. But, apart from these direct influences, there were others, indirect, but equally important. Both these great schools of economic thought are characterized by exaggerations and excesses; the one lays too great stress on the importance of the individual, and other on the importance of the community; they are both departures, in opposite directions, from the correct mean of reconciliation and of individual liberty with social solidarity. These excesses and exaggerations are the result of the free play of private judgment unguided by authority, and could not have occurred if Europe had continued to recognize an infallible central authority in ethical affairs.

The science of economics is the science of men's relations with one another in the domain of acquiring and disposing of wealth, and is, therefore, like political science in another sphere, a branch of the science of ethics. In the Middle Ages, man's ethical conduct, like his religious conduct, was under the supervision and guidance of a single authority, which claimed at the same time the right to define and to enforce its teaching. The machinery for enforcing the observance of medieval ethical teaching was of a singularly effective kind; pressure was brought to bear upon the conscience of the individual through the medium of compulsory periodical consultations with a trained moral adviser, who was empowered to enforce obedience to his advice by the most potent spiritual sanctions. In this way, the whole conduct of man in relation to his neighbours was placed under the immediate guidance of the universally received ethical preceptor, and a common standard of action was ensured throughout the Christian world in the all the affairs of life. All economic transactions in particular were subject to the jealous scrutiny of the individual's spiritual director; and such matters as sales, loans, and so on, were considered reprehensible and punishable if not conducted in accordance with the Christian standards of commutative justice.

The whole of this elaborate system for the preservation of justice in the affairs of everyday life was shattered by the Reformation. The right of private judgment, which had first been asserted in matters of faith, rapidly spread into moral matters, and the attack on the dogmatic infallibility of the Church left Europe without an authority to which it could appeal on moral questions. The new Protestant churches were utterly unable to supply this want. The principle of private judgment on which they rested deprived them of any right to be listened to whenever they attempted to dictate moral precepts to their members, and henceforth the moral behaviour of the individual became a matter to be regulated by the promptings of his own conscience, or by such philosophical systems of ethics as he happened to approve. The secular state endeavoured to ensure that dishonesty amounting to actual theft or fraud should be kept in check, but this was a poor and ineffective substitute for the powerful weapon of the confessional. Authority having once broken down, it was but a single step from Protestantism to rationalism; and the way was opened to the development of all sorts of erroneous systems of morality. (Dr. George O'Brien, An Essay on the Economic Effects of the Reformation.)

As Father Fahey pointed out, there is no real conflict between Werner Sombart and George O'Brien. There are a multiplicity of proximate causes that have produced the world in which we live, noting, as always, that fallen human nature is the remote cause of all human problems. That having been noted, however, it is important to examine the proximate causes as they help to explain the simple fact that so many billions of people over the past five centuries have lived their entire lives without knowing the true purpose of human existence, which is to know, to love and to serve God as He has revealed Himself exclusively through the Catholic Church so that they can be happy with Him for all eternity in the glory of His Beatific Vision in Heaven. Billions upon billions of people have sought their "happiness" in the things of this passing world, living relativistic and naturalistic lives while either giving no thought to the things of Heaven or believing, falsely, that their salvation was absolutely assured, if not "proved' by their material success and worldly honors and esteem.

Statism is the only logical consequence that can occur from an adherence to Protestantism in general.

Yet it is that the theological revolutionaries of Modernism who control the counterfeit church of conciliarism look with kindness upon Protestant revolutionaries such as Martin Luther and John Calvin, men who helped to create a world of relativism that has made most men today immune to any kind of truth, whether natural or supernatural.

It is absolutely no wonder at all that a Presbyterian "elder" (Presbyterianism is one of the strains of Protestantism that claims an adherence to Calvinist principles), Bill Tammeus, has written a commentary in the Kansas City Star in which he states that Jorge Mario Bergoglio/Francis is the first Protestant "pope":

I often tell people that if you lose your way in Reformed Tradition (read Presbyterian) theology [1], you can always go back to square one, which says, in essence, this: God is sovereign.

Or -- in wording I prefer now because most of us have no experience living under a sovereign -- God is gloriously free.

I thought about that the other day when I read something Pope Francis said in a book [2] he co-authored in 2010 as Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio. Speaking about how he would converse with an atheist, Bergoglio wrote: "I would not tell him that his life is condemned because I am convinced that I have no right to pass judgment."

That, friends, is Reformed Tradition theology. It is up to God to determine who will have eternal life. It is not up to us. Even if you go to Reformed Tradition founder John Calvin's hard-to-follow concepts about predestination (to say nothing of double predestination), you discover that no human being can know for certain who is saved and who is condemned.

This very point once led my friend Kathleen Norris to write this in her book Amazing Grace: A Vocabulary of Faith [3]: "It strikes me that only a French lawyer could have come up with so complex, if not bizarre, a justification for treating all people as if they could be among the elect, the chosen of God."

She's right. Even if you buy Calvinism's some-get-saved, some-get-damned-and-there's-nothing-you-can-do-about-it scheme, you don't know who is whom, so you have to be nice to everyone on the theory that you may spend eternity with that person.

Which is pretty much what Bergoglio was saying in On Heaven and Earth , co-written with Rabbi Abraham Skorka.

When I read what Bergoglio said on this subject, I had a provocative thought that I was tempted to throw into the lede of this column. Something like this: "Hey, Catholics: Do you know what you've done? You've chosen a Protestant pope."

But the day after I read the pope's words, I discovered that someone had beat me to that conclusion. Writer Jonathan Merritt asked this question [about Pope Francis in this Religion News Service piece: "... could the growing popularity (of Francis) among non-Catholics make him 'the first Protestant Pope?' "

Merritt added this: "The combination of the new Pope's concern for justice issues and his conservative theology seems to be appealing to many of these socially conscious Protestants." (I like what Merritt said, though I'm not happy he got the idea that Francis may be the first Protestant pope into print before I did. But let it go.)

Those of us in mainline Protestant churches (Presbyterians, Methodists, Lutherans, etc.) have been long on social justice concerns and short on respect for hierarchical governance structures and fancy ritual.

We pay a price for this emphasis, but it's one we've been willing to pay. And it now appears to many of us that the new pope is intent on moving the Catholic church a bit closer to this Protestant approach.

Perhaps we could meet in the middle. We Protestants will add more ritual and you Catholics can decentralize your governance structure as together we wash the feet of the poor.

I know that sounds a bit facetious, but I'm serious. There is much we can learn from each other, and the learning of it might move us closer to some kind of reunification (at least of spirit) nearly 500 years after Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the cathedral door, thus (inadvertently) starting the Protestant Reformation.

We Protestants don't have our own pope to negotiate a grand bargain with Francis, but if he's really the first Protestant pope, problem solved. All we Protestants and you Catholics need to do to start is pay attention to the times he's standing on our common ground and join him there. (Petrine Minister Francis and his Protestant views.)

Mr. Tammeus is way behind the curve here.

Jorge Mario Bergoglio/Francis is not the first Protestant "pope." He is the sixth in a line of Protestant-influenced Modernists who have claimed to be true and legitimate Successors of Saint Peter.

Angelo Roncalli/John XXIII was the first conciliar "pope." It was his call for an "opening" of the Catholic Church to the world, that helped to make Catholics as immune to truth as Protestants and outright unbelievers, Roncalli/John XXIII started a process of breaking down the sensus Catholicus of ordinary Catholics that has now spiraled out of control, producing a situation where most Catholics in the world today have attitudes, beliefs and practices that are identical with their non-Catholic friends and acquaintances.

Angelo Roncalli/John XXIII praised the Protestant syncretist Roger Schutz, who was placed in "Heaven" by Ratzinger/Benedict almost immediately after Schutz's murder on Tuesday, August 16, 2005, by calling the syncretist center of Taize, France, as "that little springtime. Father Didier Bonneterre included this telling sentence in his book on the cast of characters, including Roncalli, who used the Liturgical Movement as the means to enshrine false ecumenism:

After the death of John XXIII, his brother, Giuseppe Roncalli, visited Taize. During his visit, Roncalli remarked to his grandson, "It was my brother the Pope who began what will come out of Taize." (Father Didier Bonneterre, The Liturgical Movement: Roots, Radicals, Results. Kansas City, Missouri: Angelus Press, 2002. p 101.)

More to the point, however, was that Angelo Roncalli/John XXIII was a firm believer in the "new ecclesiology," that heresy that considers Protestant sects as part of the "Church of Christ," a view he outlined to Schutz himself shortly before he, Roncalli/John XXIII, had to answer to God for his multiple apostasies at the moment of his Particular Judgment on June 3, 1963:

Q. Did Brother Roger himself testify explicitly to that development?

A. Father Alois (Roger Schutz's successor of Taize): "He understood very early in his life that in order to pass on the Gospel to young people a reconciliation of Christians was necessary. After John XXIII and the Second Vatican Council, he considered that the time for reconciliation had come. He often told how, during his last meeting with John XXIII, in 1963, he was eager to hear a spiritual testament from the pope and he asked him about the place of Taizé in the Church. John XXIII replied, making circular gestures with his hands, 'The Catholic Church is made of concentric circles that are always bigger and bigger.' The pope did not specify in which circle he saw Taizé but Brother Roger understood that the pope wanted to say to him: you are already within, continue simply on this path. And that is what he did. (RORATE CÆLI)

Angelo Roncalli/John XXIII desired to have a complete rupture with the past. He's your first "Protestant 'pope'", Mr. Tammeus.

Giovanni Montini/Paul The Sick specifically desired to use the Protestant and Masonic Novus Ordo liturgical service to confirm more closely to the Calvinist liturgy of the Lord's Supper:

"[T]he intention of Pope Paul VI with regard to what is commonly called the Mass, was to reform the Catholic liturgy in such a way that it should coincide with the Protestant liturgy.... [T]here was with Pope Paul VI an ecumenical intention to remove, or at least to correct, or at least to relax, what was too Catholic in the traditional sense, in the Mass, and I, repeat, to get the Catholic Mass closer to the Calvinist mass" (Dec. 19, 1993), Apropos, #17, pp. 8f; quoted in Christian Order, October, 1994. (Jean Guitton, a close friend of Giovanni Montini/Paul VI.)

Albino Luciani/John Paul I believed that the "core of goodness and truth" could shine forth even from erroneous opinions. As Protestantism is heretical and thus full of errors of the sort noted above, Luciani/John Paul I, who conducted no less than five ecumenical conferences as the conciliar patriarch of Venice, Luciani/John Paul I would have had us believe that Catholics could indeed find something admirable in that which is repugnant to the Most Blessed Trinity:

John Paul I is often portrayed as a humble, saintly prelate of the Church. His doctrinal stand was very questionable as evidenced by his pastoral letter of 1967 in which he advised his clergy to "see, if instead of uprooting and throwing down [error], it might be possible to trim and prune it patiently, bringing to light the core of goodness and truth which is not often lacking even in erroneous opinions" [Reference 839: Our Sunday Visitor, September 28, 2003, "Celebrating the Smiling Pope," by Lori Pieper.] This is like a doctor telling his patient: "I won't take out all the cancer; it might be good for you. (Fathers Francisco and Dominic Radecki, CMRI, Tumultuous Times, p. 530.)

Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II?

Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI?

There is no need to repeat the points made about their embrace of the "new ecclesiology" and their belief that Protestants and the Orthodox are in "partial communion" with the Catholic Church.

No, Bill Timmeus, Jorge Mario Bergoglio/Francis is the sixth Protestant "pope."

Martin Luther and John Calvin and Thomas Cranmer would be delighted to see the "progress" made each of the conciliar "popes" in the past nearly fifty-five years as they have created an climate of religious indifferentism that has led to even many "conservative" Catholics to having an immunity from truth as they unable to accept the simple fact that truth does not change because God is immutable. The beliefs, words, actions and pastoral practices of the conciliar revolutionaries are not in accord with those of the Catholic Church, and once you fail to see this, ladies and gentlemen, it's pretty easy to become immune to almost every other truth, natural or supernatural. Modernism is, after all, the synthesis of all heresies, including Protestantism, and it will keep mutating until Our Lady's Fatima Message is fulfilled.

II. Immune To Truth About God? Immune to Moral Truth

Theological relativism leads in very short order to the spread of moral relativism, although it is also true that a life of unrepentant sin can lead to a loss of the Faith and thus an embrace of theological relativism or of rank unbelief.

It is, however, nevertheless true that the conciliar ethos of "change," effected in both revolutionary and incremental ways, has helped to make it possible for most Catholics on the face of this earth who are as of yet attached to the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism to embrace, if not participate in, one or more of the four sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance and/or to give a collective shrug of the shoulders so as to signify complete indifference to the efforts on the part of statists to institutionalize these evils and then to seek to silence anyone who dares to criticize their policies.

Yes, Kermit Gosnell was convicted on three counts of murdering babies born after his attempt to kill them in their mothers' wombs. Very few people care about what Gosnell did, which is, other than the grossly unsanitary conditions in his baby-killing mill and his macabre practices of keeping dismembered body parts of the babies he butchered in things such as cat food containers, is done in "sanitary" conditions around the United States of America and in the world.

Moreover, there is no moral distinction whatsoever between killing a baby outside of the womb and killing him inside of the womb as a human being is created at the moment of his conception and any efforts to cause the death of that baby after that point is the killing of an innocent human being. Innocent human life is inviolable from the moment of conception through all subsequent stages until natural death.

The fact that chemical and surgical baby-killing is protected under cover of law is the direct result of Martin Luther's Protestant revolution that overthrew the Social Reign of Christ the King, and that is because of that overthrow that statists such as Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro and his minions can lie with impunity about the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya, and to seek to use the Internal Revenue Service to intimidate political opponents, something that was done in the past by the likes of Presidents Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Richard Milhous Nixon and William Jefferson Blythe Clinton, none of whom "cottoned" to criticism.

While reserving comment on the Internal Revenue Service scandal until part two of this commentary tomorrow, I would, however, like to emphasize points made in the past about the Benghazi cover-up that relate directly to the ethos of relativism that has been fostered by the lords of Modernity in the world and of Modernism in the counterfeit church of conciliarism.

There has been little in the way of public outrage or outcry about the cover-up of the facts surrounding the well-planned assault on the consulate of the United States of America in Benghazi, Libya, on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, that resulted in the killings of four Americans, including the United States Ambassador to Libya, John Christopher Stevens. This will continue despite the recent revelations of a deliberate effort on the part of the Obama administration to cover-up the facts in order to continue the narrative during last year's presidential campaign that al-Qaeda-sponsored terrorism was no longer a threat to the United States of America and that Libya was enjoying the mythical "Arab Spring" that is now subjecting Catholics and members of various Orthodox churches to terrible persecutions, the extent of which will be examined in Thursday's article on this site.

It is now beyond question that the United States Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens,  and other American personnel in Libya requested increased security for the compound in Benghazi that some believe was being used to detain members of the Libyan groups that had ties to Al-Qaeda. Stevens was turned down each time. Other reports indicate that requests for intervention made by those on the ground at the compound, which may have been used as a means to funnel weaponry to the rebels in Syria, during the seven-hour attack were denied.

Through all of the unfolding lies and all of the clumsy efforts administration officials to cover them up as they have wrapped themselves into so many contradictions that they may be nominated for some kind of "papal" knighthood soon, however, is the simple, inescapable fact that most people in the United States of America still do not care to know the truth of what happened in Benghazi on September 11, 2012.

Most Americans do not care to know the nature an the extent of the lies told by President Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro, Vice President Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, United States Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, a pro-abortion Catholic who remains in perfectly good standing in the Diocese of Monterey, California, United States Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, who once described dodging bullets in Tuzla, Bosnia, when she arrived there as First Lady in 1996 (see A System Based on Lies Produces Liars), United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice, who was sent out to the media to sell the country the "spin" that the attack in Benghazi was a "spontaneous" response to the movie trailer for Innocence of the Muslims, something that the reigning caesar says she cannot be criticized for doing, and, among many others. If Americans did not care about all of this before the elections on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, why should they care about it now? They won't. It is that simple.

The details of the Benghazi attack and the cover-up of what occurred during and after it are dizzying to behold. Then again, men who have lied their entire lives and who live in a country founded upon the anti-Incarnational lies of Modernity believe that lying is a legitimate weapon of public policy and of ordinary life. So do most Americans, diverted as they are by their bread and circuses.

As I keep trying to explain to you, a populace that has made its peace with the daily slaughter of the preborn by chemical and surgical means will sigh a collective "ho hum" in face of scandals and crimes that have been perpetrated by the Obama administration in so many areas, including in the Benghazi tragedy. Most people have the "MEGO" effect (Mine Eyes Glaze Over) when they hear the details of things that do not concern them directly. They want their bread and circuses and, of course, the money, the money, and the money. They want their leisure time. They want their worldly pleasures. They want their escapism. In plain English, they want their sins. Too bad for the babies. Too bad for John Christopher Stevens. Too bad for Tyrone Woods. Too bad for Glen Doherty. Too bad for Sean Smith.

Indeed, the numbers of American voters who term themselves by the euphemistic slogan "pro-choice" has grown to fifty-four percent. Only thirty-eight percent identify themselves as "pro-life" (see Rasmussen Reports from last year). Do not think for a moment that the naturalists in the organized crime family of the false opposite of the "right" are going to ignore those figures. They will use them as the weapon that they have desired for a long time to "kill off" the "divisive" issue of baby-killing from the political radar screen altogether. Look at how quickly many careerist Republicans are acting to embrace "gay marriage." They are doing this because they have no concern for truth and they know that most people do not care about the "moral issues" at all. They care only about the money, the money, and the money.

Yet it is, though, that a country that has learned to live with murder quite comfortably will become desensitized to almost all killings, including of American diplomatic and military personnel placed in harm's way needlessly in the pursuit of the myths of "American exceptionalism," the enduring belief of Americanists and practiced with abandon by neoconservatives, or "globalism," which is the international policy of the Marxists, environmentalists, feminists and pantheists of the "left."

If you want to know who is really responsible for the "peace" that most Catholics have made with the lies of Modernity, you need to look to the me dressed in white who roam about the Vatican grounds these days. One is a fellow named Jorge Mario Bergoglio. The other is his predecessor as the "Petrine Minister" of the counterfeit church of conciliarism, Joseph Ratzinger.

III. The Buck Stops With the Conciliar Revolutionaries

Why should Catholics care about the killing of babies when the men they believe have been "popes" for the past fifty-five years have openly violated the First and Second Commandments by entering into places of false worship, engaging in "inter-religious prayer," esteeming the symbols of false religions and praising the nonexistent ability of those "religions" to "contribute" to the "building" of a "better world."

Why should Catholics care about the killing of babies when their "bishops" are concerned about the physical environment, which suffers because of the effects of human sin more than anything else, and refuse to excommunicate Catholics in public life who support baby-killing or perversity or other grave evils under cover of the civil law?

Why should Catholics care about the needless killing of their own citizens in places where their country's legitimate national security is not at risk when official in the Occupied Vatican have praised, sometimes with a bit a caution, to be sure, the so-called "Arab Spring."

Why should Catholics in the United States of America or elsewhere have much, if anything, left of the sensus Catholicus after fifty years of revolutionary changes in doctrine, worship, moral teaching and pastoral praxis that have taught them to celebrate the world?

The civil leaders of Modernity are only a reflection of "the people," many of whom are steeped in the celebration of their own unrepentant sins in the belief that their behavior is not sinful or that they a "loving God" understands their weakness and thus will not punish them eternally for their sins. And the "people" have made it clear by their collective indifference that they about as much concern for the Benghazi scandal as they do for the killing of the preborn or for a firm adherence to the binding precepts of the Ten Commandments as they have been entrusted to and taught infallibly by Holy Mother Church.

The only thing that matters to most people is "getting on" in the world, that is, being good worldlings.

Once again, this is where the devil traps well-meaning people who care about these problems into thinking that there is some inter-denominational or non-denominational "shortcut" by which to circumvent the advance of various social evils. This is but an illusion of the devil, who wants us to be in the semi-Pelagian heresy that we are, more or less, self-redemptive and can on our own create the "better" world" and "solve" or at least "retard" various social evil, without submitting to the Deposit of Faith as entrusted to and taught infallibly by the Catholic Church and without relying upon the Sanctifying Graces made present in the world only by the working of the God Holy Ghost in the Catholic Church and that flow into our hearts and souls through the loving hands of Our Lady, she who is the Mediatrix of All Graces. Evils are advancing in the world because billions of people do not believe in the true Mass or practice True Devotion to Mary and through her to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Nearly a billion more, those in the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism, to have access to a true Mass and robbed of the graces they need to see the world clearly through the eyes of the true Faith and to conform their wills to that Faith in every one of their actions.

Saint Louis Grignion de Montfort, who was canonized by Pope Pius XII in 1947, suffered terribly at the hands of the Jansenists in the early Eighteenth Century in France who did not believe in devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus or to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Saint Louis de Montfort, who founded the the Company of Mary for men and Daughters of Wisdom for women, wrote that we must not be fooled by the false spirits of the world. We must adhere only to the Eternal Wisdom that God has entrusted to men through His Catholic Church:

There are several kinds of Wisdom. First there is true and false wisdom. True wisdom is fondness of truth, without guile of dissimulation. False wisdom is fondness of falsehood, disguised under the appearance of truth. This false wisdom is the wisdom of the world, which, according to the Holy Spirit, is threefold "Earthly, sensual and devilish wisdom" (Jas. 3: 15). True wisdom is natural and supernatural. Natural wisdom is knowledge, in an eminent degree, of natural things in their principles; supernatural wisdom is knowledge of supernatural and divine things in their origin.

But we must be aware of being mistaken in our choice, for there are several kinds of wisdom. There is the Wisdom of God--the only true Wisdom, that deserves to be loved as a great treasure. There is also the wisdom of the corrupt world, which must be condemned and detested as evil and pernicious. Moreover, there is the wisdom of the philosophers, which we must despise wen it is not true philosophy and because it is often dangerous to salvation.

So far, following the advice of St. Paul, we have spoken of the Wisdom of God to chosen souls, but lest they should be deceived by the false luster of worldly wisdom, let us expose its deceit and malice. The wisdom of the world is that of which it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise" (1 Cor. 1: 19) according to the world. "The wisdom of the flesh is an enemy to God.... This is not the wisdom descending from above but earthly, sensual, devilish" (Rom. 8: 7, Jas. 3: 15).

This worldly wisdom consists in the exact compliance with the maxims and fashions of the world; in a continuous trend toward greatness and esteem. It is a secret and unceasing pursuit of pleasures and personal interests, not in a gross and open manner, so as to cause scandal, but in a secret, deceitful and scheming fashion. Otherwise, it would not be what the world calls wisdom, but rank licentiousness.

Those who process according to the wisdom of the world, are those who know how to manage well their affairs and to arrange things to their temporal advantage, without appearing to do so;

--who know the art of deceiving and how to cleverly cheat without it being noticed; who say or do one thing and have another in mind;

--who are thoroughly acquainted with the way and the flattery of the world;

--who know how to please everybody, in order to reach their goal, not troubling much about the honor and interests of God;

--who make a secret, but deadly, fusion of truth with untruth; of the Gospel with the world; of virtue with vice; of Jesus Christ with Satan;

--who wish to pass for honest people, but not as religious men; who despise and corrupt or readily condemn every religious practice which does not conform to their own.

In short, the worldly-wise are those, who being guided only by their human senses and reason, seek only to appear as Christian and honest folk, without troubling much to please God, or to do penance for the sins which they have committed against His divine Majesty. The worldling bases his conduct upon his honor, upon what people say, upon convention, upon good cheer, upon personal interest, upon refined manners, upon witty jokes. These are the seven innocent incentives, so he thinks, upon which he can rely, so that hey may lead an easy life. He has virtues of his own, for which is canonized by the world. These are manliness, finesse, diplomacy, tact, gallantry, politeness and sprightliness. He considers as serious sins such traits as lack of feeling, silliness, dullness and sanctimoniousness.

The Ten Commandments of the Worldly Man:

1. Thou shalt be well acquainted with the world.

2. Thou shalt appear to be an honest man.

3. Thou shalt be successful in business.

4. Thou shalt kept what is thine.

5. Thou shalt get on in the world.

6. Thou shalt make friends.

7. Thou shalt be a society man.

8. Thou shalt make merry.

9. Thou shalt not be a killjoy.

10. Thou shalt avoid singularity, dullness and an air of piety.

Never was the world so corrupt as it is now, because it was never so astute, so wise in its own conceit and so cunning. It is so skillful in deceiving the soul seeking perfection, that it makes use of truth to foster untruth, of virtue to authorize vice and it even distorts the meaning of Christ's own truths, to give authority to its own maxims. "The number of those who are fools, according to God, is infinite" (Eccles. 1: 15)

The earthly wisdom, spoken of by St. James, is an excessive striving for worldly goods. The worldly-wise make a secret profession of this type of wisdom when they allow themselves to become attached to their earthly possessions; when they strive to become rich; when they go to law and bring useless actions against others, in order to acquire or to keep temporal goods; when their every thought, word and deed is mainly directed toward obtaining or retaining something temporal. As to working out their eternal salvation and making use of the means to do so--such as reception of the Sacraments and prayer--they accomplish these duties only carelessly, in a very offhanded manner, once in a while and for the sake of appearances.

Sensual wisdom is a lustful desire for pleasures, The worldly-wise make a profession of it, when they seek only the satisfaction of the senses; when they are inordinately fond of entertainment; when they sun whatever mortifies and inconveniences the body, such as fasting and other austerities; when they continually think of eating, drinking, playing, laughing, amusing themselves and having an agreeable time; when they eagerly seek after soft beds, merry games, sumptuous feasts and fashionable society.

Then, after having unscrupulously indulged in all these pleasures--perhaps without displeasing the world or injuring their health--they look for the "least scrupulous" confessor (such is the name they give to those easy going confessors who shirk their duty) that they may receive from him, at little cost, the peaceful sanction of their soft and effeminate life, and a plenary indulgence for all their sins. I say, at little cost, for these, sensually wise, want, as penance, the recitation of only a few prayers, or the giving of an alms, because they dislike what afflicts the body.

Devilish wisdom consists in an unlawful striving for human esteem and honors. This is the wisdom which the worldly-wise profess when they aim, although not openly, at greatness, honors, dignities and high positions; when they wish to be seen, esteemed, praised and applauded by men; when in their studies, their works, their endeavors their words and their actions, they seek only the good opinion and praise of men, so that they may be looked upon as pious people,  as men of learning, as great leaders, as clever lawyers, as people of boundless and distinguished merit, or deserving of high consideration; while they cannot bear an insult, or a rebuke; or they cover up their faults and make a show of their fine qualities.

With Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom, we must detest and condemn these three kinds of false wisdom if we wish to acquire the true one, which does not seek its own interest, which is not found on this earth, nor in the heart of those who lead a comfortable life, but which abhors all that which is great and high in the estimation of men.

To come to the perfect possession of Divine Wisdom, we must accept and follow His teaching. We must begin renouncing ourselves and keeping the great commandments of loving God and our neighbor. We must renounce the flesh, the world and its temporal goods. Above all we must renounce our self-will. To do this, we must humbly pray, we must do penance and suffer persecution. For all this we need the help of Divine Wisdom, Who invites us to go to Him.

With His help we need not fear, provided we be clean of heart. To succeed we must persevere and not look back; we must walk in the light and act according to the teachings of Divine Wisdom; we must be vigilant and avoid the maxims of the false prophets; we must not fear what may be done to our body and reputation, but only be solicitous about the kingdom of God, which we can only enter by the narrow gate. Therefore, we must keep in mind the Eight Beatitudes and we must be thankful to God for having taught us these heavenly truths. (St. Louis de Montfort's True Devotion: Consecration to Mary, Complete Five-Week Preparation, compiled by Father Helmuts Libietus, Angelus Press, 1998, pp. 31-36, taken from Saint Louis de Montfort's book, The Love of Eternal Wisdom.)

Yes, we must do penance and be willing to suffer persecution. Perhaps our willingness to do penance and to suffer persecution for continuing to speak out against the evils of the day as members of the one, true Church, the Catholic Church, outside of which there is no salvation and without which there can be no true social order, will help to plant the seeds for the restoration of the Church and for the restoration of Christendom in the world as the fruit of the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary as we pray as many Rosaries each day as our state-in-life permits.

Pope Pius XI put the matter this way in Quas Primas, December 11, 1925:

History, in fact, tells us that in the course of ages these festivals have been instituted one after another according as the needs or the advantage of the people of Christ seemed to demand: as when they needed strength to face a common danger, when they were attacked by insidious heresies, when they needed to be urged to the pious consideration of some mystery of faith or of some divine blessing. Thus in the earliest days of the Christian era, when the people of Christ were suffering cruel persecution, the cult of the martyrs was begun in order, says St. Augustine, "that the feasts of the martyrs might incite men to martyrdom." The liturgical honors paid to confessors, virgins and widows produced wonderful results in an increased zest for virtue, necessary even in times of peace. But more fruitful still were the feasts instituted in honor of the Blessed Virgin. As a result of these men grew not only in their devotion to the Mother of God as an ever-present advocate, but also in their love of her as a mother bequeathed to them by their Redeemer. Not least among the blessings which have resulted from the public and legitimate honor paid to the Blessed Virgin and the saints is the perfect and perpetual immunity of the Church from error and heresy. We may well admire in this the admirable wisdom of the Providence of God, who, ever bringing good out of evil, has from time to time suffered the faith and piety of men to grow weak, and allowed Catholic truth to be attacked by false doctrines, but always with the result that truth has afterwards shone out with greater splendor, and that men's faith, aroused from its lethargy, has shown itself more vigorous than before. (Pope Pius XI, Quas Primas, December 11, 1925.)

Let us take solace from these words of Saint Gertrude the Great, to whom Our Blessed Lord ad Saviour revealed the secrets of His Most Sacred Heart:

Now, as the end of time approaches, He says to us what He once announced by the beloved Apostle of His Sacred Heart [Saint Gertrude the Great]: "Let him who thirsts for happiness, grace, and peace, come to My Divine Heart, their source, and draw from it 'gratis' whatsoever he will. My merciful Heart, which desires before the end of time to glorify itself by a supreme manifestation, and to love men to the utmost bounds of affection, has arranged all for this end.

"Let these languid souls come only to Me, confide in My goodness, and abandon themselves to My love. Let them be at rest in the meekness of My Heart, unite themselves to My humility and obedience, and they will no longer feel the weight of My yoke through the abundant consolation with which I will favor them. Come, then, without fear or delay, and abandon yourselves lovingly and for ever unto Me." (Father Andre Prevot, Love, Peace and Joy: Devotion to the Sacred Heart According to St. Gertrude, published originally in 1911.)

Let us repose in the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus as we approach this Font of Mercy and of Love through the Heart out of which It was formed, the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Let us accept the chastisement of the moment, a chastisement each of us deserves most richly because of our sins, and use it as a means of making reparation for our sins and those of the whole world by defending the Catholic Faith without any compromises with the naturalists of the false opposites of the "left" or of the "right." Let us proclaim Catholicism as the one and only foundation of personal and social order as we pray as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit, seeking only to plant a few seeds as we give honor and glory to the Most Holy Trinity through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus will teach us humility as we seek to imitate the meekness with which It bears with our offenses, our ingratitude, our lukewarmness, our inconstancy. We must also learn how to imitate the mercy of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus as we extend to others the same forgiveness that is given to us so freely in the Sacred Tribunal of Penance by an alter Christus acting in persona Christi. We must suffer now in order to go to Heaven.

We are not here to be "understood" by others (see Understood By God Alone). It matters not what others think of us. What matters is adhering to truth and being willing to thought ill of by others in its defense no matter the provocation.

We must suffer for our own sins and those of the whole world. How sad it is that even many traditionally-minded Catholics do not understand the necessity either of forgiving others or of the need to suffer in this time of apostasy and betrayal. We can never have any kind of immunity to this truth at all!

Although we see dimly here in this life because of our fallen estate and the damage that we have done to our souls by means of our sins, our goal in life to see God clearly in Heaven. We must place our trust in the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus that beats in unison with the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Whose Most Sacred Heart beats with such burning love for us in every tabernacle of a Catholic church served by a true bishop or a true priest, told us not to fear:

The disciple is not above the master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the goodman of the house Beelzebub, how much more them of his household?

Therefore fear them not. For nothing is covered that shall not be revealed: nor hid, that shall not be known. That which I tell you in the dark, speak ye in the light: and that which you hear in the ear, preach ye upon the housetops. And fear ye not them that kill the body, and are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him that can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Mt. 10: 24-28.)

We must be willing to care about Catholic truth, without which the world itself falls apart into a fabric of lies, which is what we are witnessing with the convergence of the forces of Modernity and Modernism help to prepare the way for the coming of Antichrist.

Be calm in the midst of the storms. Enfold yourselves into the loving embrace of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Fear not the forces of this passing world. Fear only the loss of you immortal soul. And those who keep close to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary have nothing to fear from this passing world and everything to gain in eternity if they persevere until the end in a state of Sanctifying Grace as they carry the crosses of the moment with joy and gratitude to the good God, praying as many Rosaries each day as our state-in-life permits.

Remember, Our Lady's Immaculate Heart will triumph in the end. Have confidence in her Fatima Message. There is a victory that awaits us. Why are we so slow to believe an thus to live in peace?
