Death To Babies: Kennedy's Continued "Legacy"

Several conciliar "bishops" heralded the "legacy" of the late Edward Moore Kennedy after his death on August 25, 2009. One of the most infamous who did so was the conciliar "ordinary" of the Archdiocese of Boston, Sean "Cardinal" O'Malley, O.F.M., Cap., the subject of
Sean O'Malley: Coward and Hypocrite on September 3, 2009, and Robert Morlino, the conciliar "bishop" of Madison, Wisconsin (More Rationalizations and Distortions), who wrote the following in the wake of what he termed Kennedy's "subdued" "Mass of Christian Burial" on Saturday, August 29, 2009:
There can be no doubt that Senator Kennedy’s accomplishments as the “Lion of the Senate” always were intended to help the most poor and downtrodden in our society, whether in terms of helping the developmentally handicapped, or young children with little or no strong educational opportunities, or taking leadership in providing healthcare for children, and on and on and on. Senator Kennedy certainly did live out the Gospel, in that the lifestyle of being a disciple of Jesus Christ means seeing the hungry and feeding them, seeing the naked and clothing them, seeing those who are sick or in prison and visiting them, and other like occurrences that are part of our everyday life. No one can take credit away from Senator Kennedy for his leadership in these very important areas. ("Bishop" Morlino's column.)
As I noted twenty-nine days ago now,
Edward Moore Kennedy did not "live out the Gospel" by means of promoting statist programs that were designed and administered by positivists and utilitarians and relativists and statists who have used these programs to advance the evils of "family planning" and to undermine many legitimate Natural Law rights of parents, especially as it pertains to the education of children. Edward Moore Kennedy attacked the Mystical Body of Christ on earth by supporting the nonexistent "right" of women to butcher their children under cover of the civil law. It is, as I have tried to hammer home in article after article on this site recently, impossible to pursue the common temporal good when one promotes things that are repugnant to the peace and happiness of eternity.

Conciliar officials tolerated Edward Moore Kennedy's scandalous defiance of the binding precepts of the Divine Positive Law and the Natural during his life. They said nothing as Kennedy used the weight of his committee assignments in the United States Senate to promote candidates for the Federal judiciary who, like himself, support baby-killing and other moral evils under cover of the civil law. Kennedy practiced some of ugliest, meanest forms of demagoguery imaginable to denounce candidates for the Federal judiciary who were suspected of wanting to reverse the decision of the Supreme Court of the United States of America in the cases of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, outdoing himself in this demagoguery moments after then President Ronald Wilson Reagan nominated Federal Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Robert H. Bork to succeed the retiring Associate Justice Lewis Powell in 1987:
Robert Bork's America is a land in which women would be forced into back-alley abortions, blacks would sit at segregated lunch counters, rogue police could break down citizens' doors in midnight raids, schoolchildren could not be taught about evolution, writers and artists could be censored at the whim of the Government, and the doors of the Federal courts would be shut on the fingers of millions of citizens. I can't recall any conciliar official criticizing Edward Moore Kennedy for this demagogic remark. Kennedy got a free pass from conciliar officials most of the time. He even served as an "extraordinary minister" when administering what purports to be the Most Precious Blood in the Novus Ordo service the day after his nephew, the late John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Jr., died on Friday, July 16, 1999. That's how much "respect" conciliar officials have for what they assert, albeit falsely, is the Most Precious Blood of Our Divine Redeemer. A man who supports and promotes the very evils that caused Our Lord to be put to death on the wood of the Holy Cross in atonement for our sins (a truth rejected by "Archbishop" Robert Zollitsch, the chairman of the conciliar "episcopal" conference in Germany, who has yet to be publicly rebuked or corrected by Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI in the past one hundred thirty-eight days since Zollitsch uttered this blasphemous heresy on Holy Saturday, April 11, 2009, of all days), the greatest crime in the human history by the way, "Cardinal" O'Malley, is considered fit enough to handle a chalice containing what is believed to be the Divine Redeemer's Most Precious Blood.
Conciliar officials said nothing as Edward Moore Kennedy used his own prestige and his family number and his family's money to support pro-abortion candidates for public office across the nation. Kennedy endorsed Walter Mondale and his own home state's Michael Dukakis, who had introduced the bill in the Massachusetts State Senate, which went unopposed by Kennedy family's bought and paid for "house priest," Richard Cardinal Cushing (see Cushing's Children), to legalize the sale of contraceptives to married couples, and William Jefferson Blythe Clinton and Albert Arnold Gore, Jr., and his own fellow Catholic apostate, John F. Kerry, and, of course, very famously, then United States Senator Barack Hussein Obama, pro-aborts each and every one of them.
Did Senator Kennedy use the time that God gave him to prepare for his death to renounce publicly the evils that he supported so boldly, so defiantly? No. Edward Moore Kennedy used his time to support the likes of Barack Hussein Obama. His last public letter, dated July 2, 2009, was to the Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Deval Patrick, to have the Massachusetts state legislature change the law so that his successor could be selected by the governor without waiting for a special election despite the fact that the current law, which specifies such an election, was put in place in 2004 partly at Kennedy's behest to prevent then Governor Mitt Romney from naming a successor to United States Senator John F. Kerry in the event that that hapless Catholic pro-abort defeated the hapless statist named George Walker Bush for the presidency that year. That's what was on Kennedy's mind as he neared his death: making sure that another pro-abort like himself was selected to take his place in the United States Senate. Not thought, at least not expressed publicly, of regret concerning his championing of one moral evil after another.
Edward Moore Kennedy used the might of his accumulated seniority, second only to the thirty-third degree Mason Robert Byrd, who had ousted him as the Senate Majority Whip in the aftermath of Kennedy's Chappaquiddick debacle that resulted in the death of Mary Jo Kopechne on July 18, 1969, to push and push and push for the promotion of abortion and "rights" for those steeped in unrepentant acts of moral perversity. And he remained in "good standing" in the conciliar structures until the very end despite all of this, something that would not have been the case if he had expressed the views about the crimes of the Third Reich that were expressed by Bishop Richard Williamson of the Society of Saint Pius X. That is the only truly unforgivable crime in the mind of conciliar officials that causes one to be disciplined and publicly humiliated.
Edward Moore Kennedy savaged those on what he termed was the "religious right" who sought to defend the inviolability of all innocent human life under cover of the civil law. And he did indeed make sure that the very Massachusetts state law he advocated to be changed when there was a possibility that his fellow pro-abortion Catholic, United States Senator John F. Kerry (D-Massachusetts), might be elected President of the United States of America in 2004, thus creating a vacancy that could have been filled by then Governor Mitt Romney, a Republican, was changed again so that the current Governor of Massachusetts, a pro-abort named Deval Patrick, could appoint his, Kennedy's, successor upon his death prior to a special election.
The result?
Surprise, surprise, surprise, Sergeant Carter.
The late Edward Moore Kennedy did indeed one of his very last wishes: a pro-abortion Catholic, Paul G. Kirk, Jr., the former Chairman of the Democratic Party National Committee from 1985 to 1989 who played a key role in supporting the presidential candidacy of his fellow pro-abort from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, then Governor Michael S. Dukakis, was appointed as Kennedy's interim successor in the United States Senate until a special election to choose a successor to serve the remainder of Kennedy's eighth full term in the Senate, which expires on January 3, 2013 (Kennedy served two years, fifty-three days of the Senatorial term of his brother, then President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, after a special election was held on November 6, 1962, when Kennedy became constitutionally eligible to fill the seat after turning thirty years of age on February 22, 1932). It is not exactly a good thing to go into eternity requesting a pro-abortion governor to change the law to appoint one's successor to carry on one's own advocacy of baby-killing as a "constitutional" right. Indeed, it is very tragic to enter eternity by assuring that one's unreconstructed, unrepentant support for baby-killing would be continued by a successor in the United States Senate.
None of this matters, of course, to the likes of Sean O'Malley or Robert Morlino or Theodore "I bless you in the name of Allah" McCarrick, the retired conciliar "archbishop" of Washington, District or Columbia, or Donald Wuerl, McCarrick's "successor" in Washington, D.C., and Roger Mahony, the conciliar "archbishop" of Los Angeles (Apostasy Is His Field), and Michael Sheehan, the conciliar "archbishop" of Santa Fe, New Mexico (see
Unfortunate Enough to Be A Baby), or any number of other of conciliar "bishops" and their chancery factotums. No. The direct, intentional taking of innocent preborn life is simply one of a number of different issues that concern those conciliar potentates, each of whom to a man does not believe that anyone who supports even one abortion, whether by chemical or surgical means, has expelled himself from the bosom of the Catholic Church and is also disqualified from holding any position of public trust, whether elected or appointed.
Ah, some defenders of these conciliar "bishops" might point out that United States Senator Paul G. Kirk, Jr., is a grand-nephew of the anti-Americanist Archbishop of Boston from August 30, 1907, to April 22, 1944, William Cardinal O'Connell. Yes, Cardinal O'Connell, despite the moral problems documented by Mrs. Randy Engel, was indeed a strong opponent of the heresy of Americanism, which exalts the false, naturalistic, anti-Incarnational, religiously indifferentist and semi-Pelagian nature of the American founding as the means to pursue the common temporal good absent a due subordination of the civil state to the Catholic Church in all that pertains to the good of souls. That, most unfortunately, has nothing to do with the fact that his grand-nephew, the recently selected and sworn-in Senator Paul G. Kirk, Jr., happens to support one of the four sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance: willful murder. It wouldn't matter is Paul G. Kirk, Jr., was the grand-nephew of the late Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto, our beloved Pope Saint Pius X. No one, no matter who his ancestors may have been, who supports the systematic dismemberment of the innocent preborn under cover is anything other than an apostate, an open enemy of Christ the King and of Mary our Immaculate Queen. It is that simple.
You see, most, although not all, of the conciliarists, have lost sight of the fact that simplicity is one of the essences of God. As known from human reason, God is Infinite, He is One, He is Divine, He is Simple. The last essence of the nature of God refers to the fact that there is no complexity in God. There no parts outside parts. God is complete in and of Himself. He thus gives commands that are simple: Do this, don't do that. Avoid evil, do good. That's real simple. It is also real simple to understand that abortion is evil. No one can say that he loves the true God of Revelation and support the taking of innocent human life under cover of the civil law at the same time. (Just for the sake of completeness, the attributes of of God known through Faith are: Eternity, Omnipresence, and Immutability, a little fact lost on the Hegelian named Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI.)
Paul G. Kirk, Jr., who has served as the co-chairman of the Commission on Presidential Debates, that marvelous bureaucracy that has given us those hideous debate formats, which carefully exclude all minor party candidates, pitting one naturalist against another to see who can get more talking points into his allotted time frames, remains in "canonical" good standing in the structures of the counterfeit church of conciliarism despite supporting baby-killing under cover of the civil law and despite actively supporting and promoting the careers of pro-abortion candidates and office-holders, once again demonstrating the fact one of the few things one can do to get oneself penalized by the "lord 'pope'" of the counterfeit church of conciliarism and his "bishops" you must put into question the nature and extent of the crimes of the Third Reich against Jews and others.
Other than that--and, of course, other than opposing the conciliar apostasies of the new ecclesiology and false ecumenism and religious liberty and the separation of Church and state, however, there is little one can do, including supporting baby-killing and "marriages" between persons engaged in unrepentant acts of perversity in violation of the Sixth and Ninth Commandments, that can get one in trouble with the conciliar authorities. Indeed, those who support baby-killing and perversity and statism under cover of the civil law might actually wind up with honorary doctorates from formerly Catholic institutions now under the control of the counterfeit church of conciliarism (see Persecuting Those Who Defended Our Lady's Honor).
United States Senator Paul G. Kirk, Jr., will indeed continue his predecessor and mentor's support for baby-killing as he votes in favor of Barack Hussein Obama's nationalization of the health-care industry. It does not matter that Senator Kirk will serve for one hundred seventeen days in the United States Senate. He is living proof that the late United States Senator Edward Moore Kennedy went to his grave making sure that like would replace like after his death. Edward Moore Kennedy's legacy in life was his support for baby-killing as he enabled the careers of baby-killers. This is his legacy in death.
Perhaps a "reality check" is in order, provided by, respectively, Saint Irenaeus and Pope Pius XI:
"[God will] send the spiritual forces of wickedness, and the angels who transgressed and became apostates, and the impious, unjust, lawless, and blasphemous among men into everlasting fire" (Against Heresies 1:10:1 [A.D. 189]). "The penalty increases for those who do not believe the Word of God and despise his coming. . . . [I]t is not merely temporal, but eternal. To whomsoever the Lord shall say, ‘Depart from me, accursed ones, into the everlasting fire,’ they will be damned forever" (ibid., 4:28:2).
Those who hold the reins of government should not forget that it is the duty of public authority by appropriate laws and sanctions to defend the lives of the innocent, and this all the more so since those whose lives are endangered and assailed cannot defend themselves. Among whom we must mention in the first place infants hidden in the mother's womb. And if the public magistrates not only do not defend them, but by their laws and ordinances betray them to death at the hands of doctors or of others, let them remember that God is the Judge and Avenger of innocent blood which cried from earth to Heaven. (Pope Pius XI, Casti Connubii, December 30, 1930.)
We do not know what happened to the soul of Edward Moore Kennedy upon his death, which is why we must pray for the response of his immortal soul, conscious of the fact that Our Lady will direct the fruit of our prayers to some deserving soul if his cannot be aided by them. We do know, however, that Edward Moore Kennedy, having died shortly after appealing to a pro-abortion governor to change the law so as to assure another pro-abort to succeed him in the United States Senate, was in great jeopardy at the moment of his death. His legacy continues to be that of support for baby-killing under cover of the civil law, and no one who leaves this kind of legacy can enter into the Kingdom of God in Heaven unless, having repented at the last moment of his life by making a perfect Act of Contrition and expressing sorrow for his support of baby-killing, pays back everything he owes in Purgatory.
Indeed, one of the reasons for the General Judgment of the Living and the Dead on the Last Day is for all to see our true legacy, that is, to see whether the good that we did in this life outlived the evil that we did. It is unclear to me, a mere mortal who must worry about paying back the debt owed for his own great multitude of sins, how the evil one has done in life by supporting abortion unrepentantly until the moment of his death--and by seeing to it that abortion will protected in law and public policy after his death--does not outlive any good one might have done in his life.
It is indeed quite possible that Edward Moore Kennedy suffered at the moment of his death from the God who is "the Judge and Avenger of innocent blood which cried from earth to Heaven." This is a possibility that the conciliarists dismiss. They dismiss that possibility upon the peril of the loss of their own immortal souls for praising a man who was an open enemy of Christ the King and Mary our Immaculate Queen life, a man who remains an open enemy of Christ the King and Mary our Immaculate Queen in death as he has left us no proof whatsoever that he used any part of the the last fifteen months of his life to convince anyone in his own family or in public life to abjure their support of baby-killing and to work for the legal restoration of full, unconditional protection to all innocent preborn human life without any qualification or exception whatsoever.
To wit, were there any invocations in the "Prayer of the Faithful" during his hideous "Mass of Christian Burial" to ask for prayers in reparation for the crime of baby-killing under cover of the law?
To wit, were there any invocations in the "Prayer of the Faithful" during his hideous "Mass of Christian Burial" to ask for prayers for the restoration of legal protection of the preborn?
No, there were no such prayers. There were prayers for the passage of "universal health care legislation and for "straights" to "get along" with those steeped in unrepentant acts of perversity.
The unborn had no voice at Edward Moore Kennedy's "Mass of Christian Burial" because he not only muted his voice in their behalf after the decisions of the Supreme Court of the United States of America in the cases of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, January 22, 1973, but because he used his voice to become a vicious demagogue to support their destruction in their mothers' wombs under the cover of the civil law as he spat in the face of Christ the King and the binding precepts of the Fifth Commandment's absolution prohibition of the direct, intentional taking of any innocent human life at any time for any reason. Edward Moore Kennedy was a mindless sloganeer as he sought to disparage those who were "pro-life," reveling his role as a defender of "women's rights as chortled as his own one-liners about the "dangers" of the "religious right."
Edward Moore Kennedy did nothing publicly prior to his death to amend the legacy of death that he dealt to innocent babies in the United States of America and the rest of the world. He did much to assure that his own commitment to the daily slaughter of the preborn would be shared by his successor in the United States Senate. Such is the stuff of which is made personal sanctity or even good citizenship:
The more closely the temporal power of a nation aligns itself with the spiritual, and the more it fosters and promotes the latter, by so much the more it contributes to the conservation of the commonwealth. For it is the aim of the ecclesiastical authority by the use of spiritual means, to form good Christians in accordance with its own particular end and object; and in doing this it helps at the same time to form good citizens, and prepares them to meet their obligations as members of a civil society. This follows of necessity because in the City of God, the Holy Roman Catholic Church, a good citizen and an upright man are absolutely one and the same thing. How grave therefore is the error of those who separate things so closely united, and who think that they can produce good citizens by ways and methods other than those which make for the formation of good Christians. For, let human prudence say what it likes and reason as it pleases, it is impossible to produce true temporal peace and tranquillity by things repugnant or opposed to the peace and happiness of eternity. Paul G. Kirk, Jr., will do his duty as a loyal Democrat as he himself spits in the face of Christ the King by voting for ObamaCare, which is a violation of the Natural Law principle of subsidiarity in and of itself and which will indeed permit public funds to be used for the killing of the innocent preborn. Kirk will endorse the pro-abort Democrat who is nominated to represented that party of naturalism in the special election on January 19, 2010, to fill the remainder of the late Senator Kennedy's eighth full term. He will then go back to shutting out third parties in the presidential debates and supporting pro-aborts for public office in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He will continue to support pro-aborts without for a moment jeopardizing his "good standing" in the counterfeit church of conciliarism.
The heresy of Americanism helped to produce the Kennedy approach to government and politics. It also helped to produce the ethos of conciliarism. It is no wonder that so many of the conciliar "bishops" are so sanguine about those who put a false notion of "public duty" before their loyalty to the Catholic Faith, which must define everything they do without any exception whatsoever, as Pope Leo XIII made clear in Immortale Dei, November 1, 1885:
Hence, lest concord be broken by rash charges, let this be understood by all, that the integrity of Catholic faith cannot be reconciled with opinions verging on naturalism or rationalism, the essence of which is utterly to do away with Christian institutions and to install in society the supremacy of man to the exclusion of God. Further, it is unlawful to follow one line of conduct in private life and another in public, respecting privately the authority of the Church, but publicly rejecting it; for this would amount to joining together good and evil, and to putting man in conflict with himself; whereas he ought always to be consistent, and never in the least point nor in any condition of life to swerve from Christian virtue.
Let us use the time God has given us right now to pray a Rosary in reparation for our sins and for those of the likes of the late Senator Kennedy and his successor, Paul G. Kirk, Jr., begging Our Lady to help us to be ready at all times for our own deaths as we protect ourselves with the shield of her Brown Scapular and use the weapon of her Most Holy Rosary to ward off all of the influences of the world, the flesh, and the devil in our daily lives.
Consider how the saints we commemorate today on the Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost, Saints Cosmas and Damian, who studied the writings of Hippocrates, who forbade abortion and euthanasia in his Hippocratic Oath, used the healing gifts of medicine to help patients for the honor and glory of God, not to kill them.
Writing in The Liturgical Year, Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B., noted the corruption of the medical profession even as early as the Nineteenth Century in his prayer to the two great physician-saints and brothers in blood and in the Faith whom we commemorate today:
In you, O illustrious brethren, was fulfilled this saying of the Wise Man: 'The skill of the physician shall lift up his head, and in the sight of great men he shall be praised.' The great ones, in whose sight you are exalted, are the princes of the heavenly hierarchies, witnesses to-day the homage paid to you by the Church militant. The glory that surrounds your heads in the glory of God Himself, of that bountiful King, who rewards your former disinterestedness by bestowing upon you His own blessed life.
In the bosom of divine love, your charity cannot wax cold; help us, then, and heal the sick who confidently implore your assistance. Preserve the health of God's children, so that they may fulfil their obligations in the world, and may courageously bear the light yoke of the Church's precepts. Bless those physicians who are faithful to their baptism, and who seek your aid; and increase the number of such.
See how the study of medicine now so often leads astray into the paths of materialism and fatalism, to the great detriment of science and humanity. It is false to assert that simple nature is the explanation of suffering and death; and unfortunate are those whose physicians regard them as mere flesh and blood. Even the pagan school took a loftier view than that; and it was surely a higher ideal that inspired you to exercise your art with such religious reverence. By the virtue of your glorious death, O witnesses to the Lord, obtain for our sickly society a return to the faith, to the remembrance of God, and to that piety which is profitable to all things and to all men, having the promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.
Edward Moore Kennedy and his interim successor, Paul G. Kirk, Jr., have been in league with physicians who are the very antithesis of the spirit of Saints Cosmas and Damian, and that alone is a sad legacy to bring forth to God at the moment of one's Particular Judgment.
The final victory belongs to Christ the King through the Immaculate Heart of Our Queen, His Most Blessed Mother, by means of the fulfillment of her Fatima Message. May our prayers and sufferings and sacrifices, offered to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, play some small role in ushering in the restoration of the Church Militant on earth and the restoration of the Social Reign of Christ the King in the world.
