Calling Cesar Romero, Calling Cesar Romero
by Thomas A. Droleskey
As one who was raised in an atmosphere of unreconstructed naturalism back in the 1950s and 1960s, television programming, then in its infancy, played quite a role in my life. Our evening schedules revolved around the schedules of the three television networks.
To give just one example, Saturday nights, starting in 1957, belonged to Perry Mason, which was televised at 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Eastern time, on the Columbia Broadcasting System. Jackie Gleason reclaimed his old Saturday night time slot in the Fall of 1962, forcing Mr. Mason to move to Thursday nights for three years prior to its final move to Sunday nights at 9:00 p.m. in the 1965-1966 season, during which time he faced off against the nemesis, Bonanza, on the National Broadcasting Company that had as difficult a time defeating him in the A. C. Nielsen ratings as District Attorney Hamilton Burger had defeating him the courtroom week after week. Ben Cartwright. and sons, however, did manage to finish off Perry Mason during its ninth season, which, of course, permitted Raymond Burr to move on to the character that I believe was his best, Ironside, which ran on the National Broadcasting Company between September 14, 1967, and January 16, 1975. Saturday nights belonged to Jackie Gleason from 1962-1970 thereafter (and Thursday nights, save for a ten week period starting on September 14, 1971, when the programming geniuses at the National Broadcasting Company decided to move Ironside to Tuesday nights before moving it back to Thursday nights, belonged to Ironside, yes, even as late as my studying for my doctorate from January of. 1974 to the program's demise a year later). This is just a sample of how completely I was taught to let network television programming control my life as a child.
As an inveterate viewer of television, therefore, I have fixed views, which remain, believe it or not, fixed to this very day, as to which actors or television personalities are associated with what roles or programs.
To wit, Raymond Burr was indeed the one and only Perry Mason although the character had been played by Warren William in four movies between 1934 and 1936 (and by Ricardo Cortez and Donald Woods in 1936 and 1937) and would be played by Monte Markham in the short-lived The New Adventures of Perry Mason, which aired on the Columbia Broadcasting System from September 16, 1973, to January 20, 1974.
The late Bill Cullen will always be, at least in my mind, the definitive host of The Price is Right even though other fellow, an animal "rights" nut, is more associated with the 1972 revival of that program.
The late Art Fleming will always be, at least in my mind, the definitive host of Jeopardy! Alex Who?
The late John Charles Daly will always be, at least in my mind, the definitive host of What's My Line?, which ran on the Columbia Broadcasting System from February 2, 1950, to September 3, 1967, even though the late Wally Bruner and the late Larry Blyden succeded him in syndicated versions of the show from 1968 to 1964.
The late George Reeves will always be, at least in my mind, the definitive Clark Kent/Superman. Sorry, Kirk Allen and Christopher Reeve and all of the rest.
The late Clayton Moore will always be, at least in my mind, the one and only John Reid/The Lone Ranger.
Similarly, I consider Adam West and Burt Ward to be the definitive Bruce Wayne/Batman and Dick Grayson/Robin. And in that vein, you see, there's only one Penguin (the late Burgess Meredith), one and only Riddler (Frank Gorshin), and one and only Joker (the late Cesar Romero). Movie versions? Hah! I don't spend my money on motion pictures of any kind, no less on efforts to rob me of my years of arrested development and, of course, to pollute the old naturalism with versions that overtly promote all manner of sins and feature direct, rather than implied, assaults upon the virtues of Modesty and Purity.
Thus it is that we could call upon the real Joker, the late Cesar Romero, to give us a good belly laugh in light of all of the fuss that was made a few weeks ago when it was announced that Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI would use, yes, scout's honest truth, Latin in his stagings of the Protestant and Masonic Novus Ordo service. The Motu world and others in the delusional world that views this enemy of Christ the King and His Catholic Church as the "restorer of Catholic Tradition" were all agog over this news. This is what I wrote in
Enough Spin To Make Our Heads Spin:
This is very nice except when one considers the inconvenient truth that the many Anglo-Catholics have services that are partly in Latin. One cannot make something that is premised upon a rejection of the Catholic Faith pleasing to God. This is as true of the Protestant and Masonic Novus Ordo service as it is of the false Anglican liturgies that Ratzinger/Benedict is permitting those Anglo-Catholics who are abandoning the false Anglican sect for the false conciliar sect to keep once they have finalized their change of address aboard the S. S. One World Ecumenical Church. So what? One cannot made something that is false into something that is true and pleasing to God, Who has given us the Immemorial Mass of Tradition that produced good fruit, not the fruitlessness and sterility that has been produced by the false rites of the Protestant sects and the false rites of the counterfeit church of conciliarism. So what? (See also With Perfection Staring Directly At Them, Turning Perfection Aside For A More Perfect Banality, and,

A review of the official "papal"
Missal for the Apostolic Journey reveals that the actual situation is even worse than I described it seven days ago now. Far, far worse.
Yes, you see, my good and increasingly fewer readers (what? have you been driven away by the shorter articles, by the lack of any new appeals for non-tax-deductible financial gifts even though we are belly up, by the decreased number of articles?--smile, my few readers, smile), the cosmetic changes announced by "Monsignor" Guido Marini would not qualify to be lipstick that one would place on the proverbial pig. The use of Latin in the three stagings of the Protestant and Masonic Novus Ordo service, which is fully compatible with the equally false "Anglo-Catholic" liturgies that will become a standard part of life in the counterfeit church of conciliarism once those "conservatives" with the false Anglican sect complete transferring their allegiances on the S. S. One World Ecumenical Church, involves the following features that make all of the folderol about the matter to be a joke worthy of The Joker himself.
Just consider these relatively few examples as I don't want to lose more readers by making this article a book length monograph:
1. Each of the three liturgical stagings features the sort of hybrid liturgical service that has been popularized on the Eternally Wishful Television Network (EWTN) in the past sixteen years. That is, a little bit of English and a little bit of Latin. (Indeed, I was in Irondale, Alabama, where the network was first headquartered, in 1994 to interview Mother Angelica for The Wanderer when Mother came up with the idea for a hybrid service in her chapel, speculating out loud that doing this would be a good thing. I had the misfortune of attending that hybrid service in person several times in the late-1990s as I drove through the Birmingham, Alabama, area, in an effort to get to what I thought was a valid offering of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.)
2. Here are just some examples of the confusion that will abound in the United Kingdom during the first four days of Ratzinger/Benedict's visit, focusing, at least for the current posting of this article, on the Novus Ordo service in Glasgow, Scotland.
2.1. The "opening greeting" of the Novus Ordo service in Glasgow, Scotland, tomorrow, Thursday, September 16, 2010, is in English. In the Novus Ordo, of course, the presider greets the people after he makes the Sign of the Cross. In the Immemorial Mass of Tradition, however, the priest speaks to God as he prays the Prayers at the Foot of the Altar. (See page eleven of the Missal linked above.)
2.2. Ratzinger/Benedict, in absolutely full conformity with the rubrics outlined in the General Instruction to the Roman Missal, will use an improvised prayer in Glasgow to introduce the conciliar church's simplified version of the Confiteor, which is to be recited in English. (See page twelve of the Missal linked above.)
2.3 The Kyrie is in the Greek while the Gloria is in English. (See pages thirteen and fourteen of the Missal linked above.)
2.4 The Opening Prayer and what is called the Responsorial Psalm will be recited in English. (See pages fifteen and seventeen of the Missal linked above.)
2.5 The Alleluia verse before the Gospel will be recited in English and in the Scottish dialect of the Gaelic language. (See page eighteen of the Missal linked above.)
2.6.The "Prayer of the Faithful" will be recited in English and the Scottish dialect of the Gaelic language. (See pages twenty-one to twenty-three of the Missal linked above.
2.7. The Latin language will be used for the "table prayers" from the Talmud that Giovanni Montini/Paul VI personally insisted upon being inserted into his "new 'Mass'" to replace the Offertory of the Roman Rite of the Catholic Church that clearly communicate the sacrificial nature of the Mass. (See pages twenty-four and twenty-five of the Missal linked above; you can look up the rest of the pages yourselves. I am getting pretty sick of this, thank you.)
2.8 Ratzinger/Benedict will recite what is called the "Prayer Over the Gifts," referred to in the Roman Rite of the Catholic Church as the Secret, in English and, of course, quite audibly.
2.9. The Preface for the service will be in the Latin language. It is a specially composed preface for Saint Ninian, the Apostle to the Southern Picts in the Scottish Lowlands in the Eighth Century. The Sanctus, however, is in English! Got it?
2.10. The "Eucharistic Prayer" will also be in Latin. It is, however, to be that hideous monstrosity known in the Novus Ordo world as "Eucharistic Prayer II." This is why some of you out there in cyberspace think Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI is a "restorer of Catholic Tradition"? Because he uses a Latin editio typica for Eucharistic Prayer II? Seriously? Some of you believe in this delusion?
2.11. The "Let us proclaim the Mystery of Faith" refrain found in the Novus Ordo service will be proclaimed (or sung) in English before "Eucharistic Prayer II" commences again in Latin. Some kind of "restoration," let me tell you.
2.12. The Pater Noster will be sung in Latin while the "Libera Nos" and the people's response to it (the Protestant "for the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and forever) will be recited in English.
2.13. Ratzinger/Benedict will use the English language to invite everyone present to exchange "The Sign of Peace." (Boy, does this bring back terrible, terrible memories. I want to scream. I can't. Sharon, Lucy and Chase are sleeping.)
2.14. The Agnus Dei will be recited or sung in English. Ratzinger/Benedict will use Latin to recite the prayers prior to his reception of what purports to be--but is not--Holy Communion.
2.15.Ratzinger/Benedict will hold up what he thinks is the Host and recite the Domine non sum dignus" prayer in English before he uses Latin to receive it.
2.16. Those present will receive what they think is Holy Communion with the simple "Body of Christ" formula spoken in the English language.
2.17. The Prayer after Communion will be recited in English while the final blessing and dismissal will be given in Latin.
This is the prototype of the "reform of the reform"? Hah! Calling Cesar Romero. Calling Cesar Romero. Believe me, it gets worse with the other two services, which I will try to write about later today, the Feast of the Seven Dolors of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
This is but a microcosm of the whole confusion that reigns supreme in the counterfeit church of conciliarism. The juxtaposition of four different languages so readily and so illogically is symbolic, as I see it, of the juxtaposition of Modernism and Catholicism in the "magisterium" of the "
Second" Vatican Council and the conciliar "popes" and in the liturgical rites, if they can be termed as such, that were spawned by the Consilium of the late "Archbishop" Annibale Bugnini. There is no consistency. There is no logic.
This one service in Glasgow, Scotland, that is scheduled to offend the Most Blessed Trinity tomorrow, September 16, 2010, is but an expression of the confusion found within conciliar-held parishes and among different parishes.
Many of us know that tragic first-hand experiences that the same priest or presbyter can stage a Novus Ordo service entirely differently in the same parish as he caters to different groups at different times. He can use a variety of different and thoroughly licit options to express himself and his likes or dislikes when it comes to "doing liturgy." Different priests or presbyters in the same parish can do things entirely as they see fit.
One parish in conciliar captivity in a given community can feature more "conservative" stagings while another parish in the same community can feature "progressive" stagings as each parish exhibits perfectly the insanity wrought by a false religion where disunity and dissimilarity are common, ordinary features of doctrinal and liturgical life. This is all a foretaste of Hell, where confusion and terror abide, not the glories of Heaven.
Other outrages that will include Ratzinger/Benedict giving a "joint blessing" with the Anglican non-"archbishop" of Canterbury, a layman by the name of Rowan Williams, at the end of an ecumenical prayer service at the Anglican-held Westminster Abbey on Friday, September 17, 2010, which is the Feast of the Impression of the Stigmata on Saint Francis of Assisi in the Roman Rite of the Catholic Church (see the Westminster Abbey website for the full details, some of which are included in the Vatican's "Missal" for the ceremony).
In following the example of Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II and in doing what he himself has done in the past, namely, to impart a "joint blessing" with the non-"archbishop" of Canterbury, Ratzinger/Benedict gives a de facto signal that, all of the "official," de jure conciliar protestations to the contrary notwithstanding, he really does believe the the layman Rowan Williams is a "bishop" and that he has a mission from God to carry on the "Anglican tradition" in the service of souls, thereby spitting on these words of Pope Leo XIII, contained in Apostolicae Curae,
Wherefore, strictly adhering, in this matter, to the decrees of the pontiffs, our predecessors, and confirming them most fully, and, as it were, renewing them by our authority, of our own initiative and certain knowledge, we pronounce and declare that ordinations carried out according to the Anglican rite have been, and are, absolutely null and utterly void. . . .
We decree that these letters and all things contained therein shall not be liable at any time to be impugned or objected to by reason of fault or any other defect whatsoever of subreption or obreption of our intention, but are and shall be always valid and in force and shall be inviolably observed both juridically and otherwise, by all of whatsoever degree and preeminence, declaring null and void anything which, in these matters, may happen to be contrariwise attempted, whether wittingly or unwittingly, by any person whatsoever, by whatsoever authority or pretext, all things to the contrary notwithstanding.
Anglican "bishops" cannot give "joint blessings" with a true Successor of Saint Peter as they are have no valid orders and are not members of the Catholic Church. Then again, of course, Ratzinger/Benedict, although a priest, is not a bishop and he has cast himself outside of the pale of the Catholic Church by reason of his multiple defections from the Holy Faith. He has a lot in common with Mr. Rowan Williams. Their "joint blessing," however is offensive in the eyes of the true God of Divine Revelation and worse than worthless for the souls of the men redeemed by the shedding of every single drop of the Most Precious Blood of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Ratzinger/Benedict and Mr. Williams will also recite the Protestant version of the Pater Noster together in English when they meet at Lambeth Palace prior to the outrage at Westminster Abbey two days from now as they beg God in a concluding prayer, to be said at the conclusion of their meeting, as follows:
Lord, pour out upon us the spirit
of understanding, truth and peace.
Help us to strive with all our hearts
to know what is pleasing to you,
and when we know your will,
make us determined to do it.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ,
your Son, who lives and reigns
with you and the Holy Spirit, one God,
for ever and ever.
Please send in Cesar Romero. We know what God wills: the unconditional conversion of every non-Catholic to the true Church, outside of which there is no salvation and without which there can be no true social order, a point that Pope Pius IX made abundantly clear in Iam Vos Omes, September 13, 1868:
It is for this reason that so many who do not share 'the communion and the truth of the Catholic Church' must make use of the occasion of the Council, by the means of the Catholic Church, which received in Her bosom their ancestors, proposes [further] demonstration of profound unity and of firm vital force; hear the requirements [demands] of her heart, they must engage themselves to leave this state that does not guarantee for them the security of salvation. She does not hesitate to raise to the Lord of mercy most fervent prayers to tear down of the walls of division, to dissipate the haze of errors, and lead them back within holy Mother Church, where their Ancestors found salutary pastures of life; where, in an exclusive way, is conserved and transmitted whole the doctrine of Jesus Christ and wherein is dispensed the mysteries of heavenly grace.
It is therefore by force of the right of Our supreme Apostolic ministry, entrusted to us by the same Christ the Lord, which, having to carry out with [supreme] participation all the duties of the good Shepherd and to follow and embrace with paternal love all the men of the world, we send this Letter of Ours to all the Christians from whom We are separated, with which we exhort them warmly and beseech them with insistence to hasten to return to the one fold of Christ; we desire in fact from the depths of the heart their salvation in Christ Jesus, and we fear having to render an account one day to Him, Our Judge, if, through some possibility, we have not pointed out and prepared the way for them to attain eternal salvation. In all Our prayers and supplications, with thankfulness, day and night we never omit to ask for them, with humble insistence, from the eternal Shepherd of souls the abundance of goods and heavenly graces. And since, if also, we fulfill in the earth the office of vicar, with all our heart we await with open arms the return of the wayward sons to the Catholic Church, in order to receive them with infinite fondness into the house of the Heavenly Father and to enrich them with its inexhaustible treasures. By our greatest wish for the return to the truth and the communion with the Catholic Church, upon which depends not only the salvation of all of them, but above all also of the whole Christian society: the entire world in fact cannot enjoy true peace if it is not of one fold and one shepherd. (Pope Pius IX, Iam Vos Omnes, September 13, 1868.)
The contrast between Catholicism and the false religion of conciliarism does not get any clearer.
Enough, at least for now. It's past my curfew time again.
We must console the good God during the next four days as these and other offenses are committed against His honor and glory and majesty by a man who claims, albeit falsely, to be the Successor of Saint Peter and thus the Visible Head of the Catholic Church. We must make our acts of reparation to Him through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, using the weapon of he Most Holy Rosary that Our Lady gave to Saint Dominic de Guzman, the founder of the Order of Preachers, for these grave sins as well as for our own sins that have so worsened the state of the Church Militant on earth and the world-at-large.
Isn't it time to pray a Rosary now?
Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, triumph soon.
Viva Cristo Rey! Vivat Christus Rex!
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.
Saint Joseph, pray for us.
Saints Peter and Paul, pray for us.
