Archbishop Who?

by Thomas A. Droleskey

And most recently, the Pope has been in the synagogue of the Jews in Rome. How can the Pope pray with the enemies of Jesus Christ? These Jews know and say and believe that they are the successors of the Jews that killed Jesus Christ, and they continue to fight against Jesus Christ everywhere in the world. At the end of the Pope's visit, the Jews sang a "hymn" that included the line "I believe with all my heart in the coming of the Messiah," meaning that they refuse Jesus as the Messiah, and the Pope had given permission for this denial of Christ be sung in his presence, and he listened, head bowed! And the Holy See announces that in the near future that he will visit Taize to pray with the Protestants, and he himself said in public at St. Paul Outside the Walls that later this year he will hold a ceremony gathering all of the religions of the world together to pray for peace at Assisi in Italy, on the occasion of the Feast of Peace proclaimed by the United Nations due to take place on October 24.

“Now all these facts are public, you have seen them in the newspapers and the media. What are we to think? What is the reaction of our Catholic Faith? That is what matters. It is not our personal feelings, a sort of impression or admission of some kind. It is a question of knowing what our Faith tells us, faced with these facts. Let me quote a few words - not my words - from Canon Naz’s Dictionary of Canon Law, a wholly official and approved commentary on what has been the Catholic Church’s body of law for nineteen centuries. On the subject of sharing in the worship of non-Catholics (after all, this is what we now see Pope and bishops doing), the Church says, in Canon 1258-1: ‘It is absolutely forbidden for Catholics to attend or take any active part in the worship of non-Catholics in any way whatsoever.’ On this Canon the quasi-official Naz Commentary says, and I quote, ‘A Catholic takes active part when he joins in heterodox; i.e., non-Catholic worship with the intention of honouring God by this means in the way non-Catholics do. It is forbidden to pray, to sing or to play the organ in a heretical or schismatic temple, in association with the people worshipping there, even if the words of the hymn or the song or the prayer are orthodox.’ The reason for this prohibition is that any participation in non-Catholic worship implies profession of a false religion and hence denial of the Catholic Faith. By such participation Catholics are presumed to be adhering to the beliefs of the non- Catholics, and that is why Canon 2316 declares them ‘suspect of heresy, and if they persevere, they are to be treated as being in reality heretics.’

“Now these recent acts of the Pope and bishops, with Protestants, animists and Jews, are they not an active participation in non-Catholic worship as explained by Canon Naz on Canon 1258-1? In which case, I cannot see how it is possible to say that the Pope is not suspect of heresy, and if he continues, he is a heretic, a public heretic. That is the teaching of the Church.

“Now I don’t know if the time has come to say that the Pope is a heretic; I don’t know if it is the time to say that. You know, for some time many people, the sedevacantists, have been saying ‘there is no more Pope,’ but I think that for me it was not yet the time to say that, because it was not sure, it was not evident, it was very difficult to say that the Pope is a heretic, the Pope is apostate. But I recognize that slowly, very slowly, by the deeds and acts of the Pope himself we begin to be very anxious. I am not inventing this situation; I do not want it. I would gladly give my life to bring it to an end, but this is the situation we face, unfolding before our eyes like a film in the cinema. I don’t think it has ever happened in the history of the Church, the man seated in the chair of Peter partaking in the worship of false gods.

“What conclusion must we draw in a few months if we are confronted by these repeated acts of partaking in false worship? I don’t know. I wonder. But I think the Pope can do nothing worse than call together a meeting of all religions, when we know there is only one true religion and all other religions belong to the devil. So perhaps after this famous meeting of Assisi, perhaps we must say that the Pope is a heretic, is apostate. Now I don’t wish yet to say it formally and solemnly, but it seems at first sight that it is impossible for a Pope to be publicly and formally heretical. Our Lord has promised to be with him, to keep his faith, to keep him in the Faith - how can he at the same time be a public heretic and virtually apostatise? So it is possible we may be obliged to believe this Pope is not Pope. (The Angelus, July 1986, transcripts of talks given by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre on March 30 and April 18, 1986.)

The late Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, the founder of the Society of Saint Pius X, who did indeed say different things at different times (see His Excellency Bishop Donald Sanborn's Logical Chickens Coming Home to Roost: A Commentary on Recent Events in SSPX and his The Mountains of Gelboe), minced no words twenty-three years ago when he reiterated the consistent teaching of the Catholic Church condemning all forms of inter-religious "prayer" services and any kind of esteem being paid to false religions, each of which is hated by God. The late Archbishop took seriously these words of King David in Psalm 140:

Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth: and a door round about my lips. Incline not my heart to evil words; to make excuses in sins. With men that work iniquity: and I will not communicate with the choicest of them. The just shall correct me in mercy, and shall reprove me: but let not the oil of the sinner fatten my head. For my prayer also shall still be against the things with which they are well pleased: (Psalm 140: 3-5)

Eager to curry favor with the false "pontiff," Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, who has commenced a visit to the Middle East with his arrival in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan yesterday, Friday, May 8, 2009, the current leadership of the Society of Saint Pius X is eager to "make excuses in sins" by seeking exculpate the arch-heretic Ratzinger for the simple fact that he will be treating the false religions of Mohammedanism and Talmudic Judaism with great respect and esteem during his current pilgrimage. Consider this notice on the Documentation Information Catholiques Internationales (DICI) website that is designed to excuse Ratzinger/Benedict for doing and saying the precise things that had been said and done by his predecessor as the head of the counterfeit church of conciliarism, the late Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II:

Benedict XVI will visit the Holy Land from May 11 to May 15. We must take cognizance of the political and religious context into which this visit will take place. The power of the fundamentalists in the Israeli society, the role of the ultranationalists in the government, the juridical and economic agreements never brought to their conclusion between the Vatican and Israel since the recognition of the Hebrew State by the Holy See in 1993, the polemic about the alleged silence of Pius XII during the Holocaust, all this against a background of armed conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, such is the situation the pope will be confronted with in two weeks. (Before the Pope’s Pilgrimage to the Holy Land.)

In other words, poor Ratzinger/Benedict just has to say nice things about the false religions of Mohammedanism and Talmudic Judaism. Imagine how many millions of Catholic martyrs could have saved their lives--as they lost their immortal souls!--by giving in to the "pressures" of the moment in light of the "political and religious context" in which they lived. This, you see,  good readers, is what happens when those who seek the favor and the recognition of the lords of the counterfeit church of conciliarism stop thinking as Catholics and by being willing to accept the offenses given to the honor and majesty and glory of God by the conciliar "pontiffs" and their "bishops," inclining their hearts quite willingly to evil words as they make excuses in sins.

One of the most evil aspects of the whole conciliar era is the ease with which so many Catholics in the conciliar structures who should know better, those who are not "ultra-progressive" conciliarists, have been so willing to keep silent (see Silence) or to actually try to find some way to rationalize gross, public violations of the First Commandment by the conciliar "pontiffs." It has been the case in the past two years, especially since the issuance of Summorum Pontificum on July 7, 2007, that many, although not all, of those who excoriated Wojtyla/John Paul II for entering into a synagogue and kissing the Koran and treating non-Catholic "clergy" as legitimate ministers of God have had their mouths filled with Elmer's Glue-All or have made excuses for Ratzinger/Benedict that directly contradict what they themselves once wrote over and over again in books and articles about Wojtyla/John Paul II's frequent and most public violations of the First Commandment by praising false religions and esteeming their nonexistent "ability" to "contribute" to world "peace."

The "price of recognition" by the lords of the counterfeit church of conciliarism that is being paid now by the leaders of the Society of Saint Pius X, who are pretending that no one is supposed to remember the fact that their founder, the late Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, condemned the very actions of Wojtyla/John Paul II that Ratzinger/Benedict is continuing. This is but the exact same phenomenon that has muted the voices of priests and presbyters in the Motu communities as they have convinced themselves that silence in the face of blasphemy, sacrilege and apostasy is a "virtue" to that the faithful attached to the structures of the false church can have access" to a modernized--and increasingly modernizing--simulation of the Immemorial Mass of Tradition.

To wit, I have yet to read any commentary written by Bishop Fernando Areas Rifan of the Society of Saint John Mary Vianney in Campos, Brazil, or any of the priests of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter or of the Institute of Christ the King defending the honor and glory and majesty of God by condemning what Ratzinger/Benedict did at the John Paul II Cultural Center in Washington, District of Columbia, on Thursday, April 17, 2009, as he esteemed the symbols of five false religions. No one in those communities has risen to defend the honor and glory and majesty of God. No one. Not one, meaning that those who have kept their silence about this grave offense to God comes under the following condemnation of Pope Leo the Great:

But it is vain for them to adopt the name of catholic, as they do not oppose these blasphemies: they must believe them, if they can listen so patiently to such words. (Pope Saint Leo the Great, Epistle XIV, To Anastasius, Bishop of Thessalonica, St. Leo the Great | Letters 1-59 )

Or would Bishop Rifan or any of the priests or presbyters in any of the Motu communities want to go on the record publicly by saying that what Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI did on April 17, 2008, was not a grievous violation of the First Commandment that indicates he has no understanding of the honor and glory and majesty due to the Most Holy Trinity? If what Ratzinger/Benedict did on April 17, 2008, was grievously wrong, why the silence?

Was Ratzinger/Benedict right to reject the "ecumenism of the return" when he addressed Protestants and members of various Orthodox confessions in Cologne, Germany, on Friday, August 19, 2005? (Ecumenical meeting at the Archbishopric of Cologne)

Has Ratzinger/Benedict been right to endorse the "separation of Church and State" that was termed a thesis "absolutely false" by Pope Saint Pius X in Vehementer Nos, February 11, 1906?

Why the silence?

The answer is simple: those in the Motu communities do not believe that it is necessary to publicly defend the honor and glory and majesty of God when their putative "pontiff" commits, objectively speaking, grievous sins against the First Commandment, although it is allowable now and again to criticize a conciliar "bishop," such as Robert Zollitsch, the head of the conciliar "bishops'" conference in the Federal Republic of Germany, just as so long no one notices that the man who claims to be the Vicar of Christ on earth, Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI has now let Zollitsch's denial that Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ died for our sins go unanswered with any "papal" sanction for twenty-eight days now.

The path to "recognition" by the lords of the counterfeit church of conciliarism is the path to compromise and to silence about articles contained in the Deposit of Faith as one grows accustomed to blasphemies and sacrileges and apostasies that could never emanate from the spotless Mystical Bride of Christ that is the Catholic Church and could not be uttered or committed by any baptized Catholic without their expelling themselves automatically from her maternal bosom (see Number 9, Satis Cognitum, Pope Leo XIII, June 29, 1896, which is included in Ratzinger's War Against Catholicism). The path of silence and rationalization that has been taken by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter and the Institute of Christ the King and the Society of Saint John Mary Vianney, to name the three largest Motu communities, is the path now being trod by the leaders of the Society of Saint Pius X.

There is, of course, a certain logic to this madness in that the late archbishop should have recognized that "The Nine" were correct in explaining to him that it is impossible for the Catholic Church to give us defective liturgies and false doctrines or that a true  and legitimate Successor of Saint Peter can believe and say and do things that have been condemned repeatedly by her magisterial authority. Those who subscribe to the false "resist and recognize" ecclesiology of the Society of Saint Pius X (see the appendix found at the end of Shell Games With Souls and included in the text of Pots and Kettles) will come eventually to relent and recognize in the ever-delusional belief that things" will be "different" this time around, that they are immune to the compromises of rationalizations of others even as they make excuses in advance for the sins against the First Commandment that will be committed by Ratzinger/Benedict during his trip to Jordan and Israel.

Ratzinger/Benedict is already appealing to "coexistence" with false religions, refusing to mention in the presence of Mohammedans in Jordan that they must convert to the true Faith. Sure, Ratzinger/Benedict will speak about the Faith before Catholic groups in Jordan and Israel. One must speak as a Catholic at all times to all people, unless, that is, one believes that no one who is outside of the Catholic Church, no less those who deny Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Sacred Divinity, is in peril of losing their immortal soul for all eternity.

This is just a brief excerpt from Ratzinger/Benedict's address to King Abdullah of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan yesterday, May 8, 2009:

My visit to Jordan gives me a welcome opportunity to speak of my deep respect for the Muslim community, and to pay tribute to the leadership shown by His Majesty the King in promoting a better understanding of the virtues proclaimed by Islam. Now that some years have passed since the publication of the Amman Message and the Amman Interfaith Message, we can say that these worthy initiatives have achieved much good in furthering an alliance of civilizations between the West and the Muslim world, confounding the predictions of those who consider violence and conflict inevitable. Indeed the Kingdom of Jordan has long been at the forefront of initiatives to promote peace in the Middle East and throughout the world, encouraging inter-religious dialogue, supporting efforts to find a just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, welcoming refugees from neighboring Iraq, and seeking to curb extremism. I cannot let this opportunity pass without calling to mind the pioneering efforts for peace in the region made by the late King Hussein. How fitting that my meeting tomorrow with Muslim religious leaders, the diplomatic corps and University rectors should take place in the mosque that bears his name. May his commitment to the resolution of the region's conflicts continue to bear fruit in efforts to promote lasting peace and true justice for all who live in the Middle East. (Ratzinger Address Upon Arrival in Amman.)

The virtues proclaimed by Islam? Initiatives to promote peace in the Middle East? Catholicism is the one and only foundation of true peace within the souls of men and hence within and among nations. Pope Pius XI made this clear in Ubi Arcano Dei Consilio, December 23, 1922:

Because the Church is by divine institution the sole depository and interpreter of the ideals and teachings of Christ, she alone possesses in any complete and true sense the power effectively to combat that materialistic philosophy which has already done and, still threatens, such tremendous harm to the home and to the state. The Church alone can introduce into society and maintain therein the prestige of a true, sound spiritualism, the spiritualism of Christianity which both from the point of view of truth and of its practical value is quite superior to any exclusively philosophical theory. The Church is the teacher and an example of world good-will, for she is able to inculcate and develop in mankind the "true spirit of brotherly love" (St. Augustine, De Moribus Ecclesiae Catholicae, i, 30) and by raising the public estimation of the value and dignity of the individual's soul help thereby to lift us even unto God.

Finally, the Church is able to set both public and private life on the road to righteousness by demanding that everything and all men become obedient to God "Who beholdeth the heart," to His commands, to His laws, to His sanctions. If the teachings of the Church could only penetrate in some such manner as We have described the inner recesses of the consciences of mankind, be they rulers or be they subjects, all eventually would be so apprised of their personal and civic duties and their mutual responsibilities that in a short time "Christ would be all, and in all." (Colossians iii, 11)

Since the Church is the safe and sure guide to conscience, for to her safe-keeping alone there has been confided the doctrines and the promise of the assistance of Christ, she is able not only to bring about at the present hour a peace that is truly the peace of Christ, but can, better than any other agency which We know of, contribute greatly to the securing of the same peace for the future, to the making impossible of war in the future. For the Church teaches (she alone has been given by God the mandate and the right to teach with authority) that not only our acts as individuals but also as groups and as nations must conform to the eternal law of God. In fact, it is much more important that the acts of a nation follow God's law, since on the nation rests a much greater responsibility for the consequences of its acts than on the individual.

When, therefore, governments and nations follow in all their activities, whether they be national or international, the dictates of conscience grounded in the teachings, precepts, and example of Jesus Christ, and which are binding on each and every individual, then only can we have faith in one another's word and trust in the peaceful solution of the difficulties and controversies which may grow out of differences in point of view or from clash of interests. An attempt in this direction has already and is now being made; its results, however, are almost negligible and, especially so, as far as they can be said to affect those major questions which divide seriously and serve to arouse nations one against the other. No merely human institution of today can be as successful in devising a set of international laws which will be in harmony with world conditions as the Middle Ages were in the possession of that true League of Nations, Christianity. It cannot be denied that in the Middle Ages this law was often violated; still it always existed as an ideal, according to which one might judge the acts of nations, and a beacon light calling those who had lost their way back to the safe road.

There exists an institution able to safeguard the sanctity of the law of nations. This institution is a part of every nation; at the same time it is above all nations. She enjoys, too, the highest authority, the fullness of the teaching power of the Apostles. Such an institution is the Church of Christ. She alone is adapted to do this great work, for she is not only divinely commissioned to lead mankind, but moreover, because of her very make-up and the constitution which she possesses, by reason of her age-old traditions and her great prestige, which has not been lessened but has been greatly increased since the close of the War, cannot but succeed in such a venture where others assuredly will fail.

It is apparent from these considerations that true peace, the peace of Christ, is impossible unless we are willing and ready to accept the fundamental principles of Christianity, unless we are willing to observe the teachings and obey the law of Christ, both in public and private life. If this were done, then society being placed at last on a sound foundation, the Church would be able, in the exercise of its divinely given ministry and by means of the teaching authority which results therefrom, to protect all the rights of God over men and nations.

The virtues proclaimed by Islam? Are to we to consign the work of Saint Vincent Ferrer, O.P., who sought to convert Mohammedans and Jews in the Iberian Peninsula and southern France at the end of the Fourteenth and the beginning of the Fifteenth Centuries to the Orwellian (or Montinian) memory hole?

He exposed the perfidy of the Jews, and refuted the false doctrines of the Saracens, but with so much earnestness and success, that he brought a great number of infidels to the faith of Christ, and converted many thousand Christians from sin to repentance, and from vice to virtue. God had chosen him to teach the way of salvation to all nations, and tribes, and tongues; as also to warn men of the coming of the last and dread day of judgment, He so preached, that he struck terror into the minds of all his hearers, and turned them from earthly affections to the love of God. (From the Roman Breviary for the Feast of Saint Vincent Ferrer, O.P., April 5)

Is it no longer necessary to preach to all the Mohammedans and Jews of our day as Saint Vincent Ferrer, O.P., preached to the Mohammedans and Jews of his day? Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI believes this to be the case. And his apologists in the Society of Saint Pius X are stating now that he, Ratzinger/Benedict, cannot be expected to do as has been done in the past because of the "political and religious context into which this visit will take place."

Goodbye, Catholic Faith.

Goodbye, Catholic truth.

Goodbye, God's honor and glory and majesty.

"Strategy" and "diplomacy" and "delicate negotiations" are what matter now in order for the Society of Saint Pius X to take its place in a corner of the One World Ecumenical Church as partners, although perhaps a little less "equal" partners, with the Catholic" Charismatic Renewal, Opus Dei, Focolare, Cursillo, the Sant'Egidio Community, the Shalom Catholic Community, the Chemin Neuf Community, the International Community of Faith and Light, Regnum Christi, Communion and Liberation, the Emmanuel Community, the Seguimi Lay Group of Human-Christian Promotion, and. among many, many others, the Neocatechumenal Way. Never mind the fact that the Catholic Faith is non-negotiable and that it is absurd and preposterous to pray, no less to pray for a Rosary crusade, for the "conversion" of a true Sovereign Pontiff (see Nothing to Negotiate and Story Time in Econe).

Nothing, however, will change the truth of the canons cited by the late Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in 1986 that condemned the very kinds of apostate activities of Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II that are being continued before our very eyes by Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, and apostle of the blasphemous falsehood of ecumenism and inter-religious dialogue and inter-religious "prayer" services. Bishop George Hay made it clear just over two centuries ago that the Catholic Church's condemnation of these practices has been unbroken and absolutely consistent, which should to prove to some of the doubting Thomases out that that the counterfeit church of conciliarism is not and can never the same thing as the Catholic Church:

The spirit of Christ, which dictated the Holy Scriptures, and the spirit which animates and guides the Church of Christ, and teaches her all truth, is the same; and therefore in all ages her conduct on this point has been uniformly the same as what the Holy Scripture teaches. She has constantly forbidden her children to hold any communication, in religious matters, with those who are separated from her communion; and this she has sometimes done under the most severe penalties. In the apostolical canons, which are of very ancient standing, and for the most part handed down from the apostolical age, it is thus decreed: "If any bishop, or priest, or deacon, shall join in prayers with heretics, let him be suspended from Communion". (Can. 44)

Also, "If any clergyman or laic shall go into the synagogue of the Jews, or the meetings of heretics, to join in prayer with them, let him be deposed, and deprived of communion". (Can. 63) (Bishop George Hay, (The Laws of God Forbidding All Communication in Religion With Those of a False Religion.)

Conciliarists make advertence to the alleged "conditional" nature of dogmatic truths in order to attempt to explain away their clear contradictions of the consistent teaching and pastoral praxis of the Catholic Church. Those who seek to curry favor with the conciliarists make advertence to "political and religious context into which" these the conciliar blasphemies and apostasies and sacrileges take place as God, He Who is our Creator, our Redeemer and our Sanctifier, is offended and as the souls for whom the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity made Man in Our Lady's Virginal and Immaculate Womb by the power of God the Holy Ghost are scandalized and/or reaffirmed in false religions that are hideous in His sight and thus have the power to save or to sanctify no one.

Today, May 9, 2009, is the feast of Our Lady of Consolation. She wants to console us in our affliction, especially during this time of apostasy and betrayal.

May we seek to console the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through Our Lady's Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, praying as many Rosaries of reparation in these next eight days (as Ratzinger visits the Holy Land) as our states-in-life permit, for all of the crimes against God and souls that are being committed in the name of the Catholic Church by apostates who believe that there is no need to bear a consistent, visible and tangible witness before all men and in all circumstances to the simple truth that the Catholic Church is one and only source of human salvation on earth, the one and only foundation of personal and social order, the one and only teacher of the Gospel, the one and only sanctifier of the souls of men purchased the cost of the shedding of every single drop of the Most Precious Blood of her Divine Bridegroom, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Our Lady has sorrow beyond description as a result of false ecumenism and the sins committed against the First Commandment engendered thereby. Isn't time to console her by praying a Rosary right now?

Kyrie eleison!
