On the Feast of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal: In Ways That Baffle the Minds of Modern Men

Although not on the General Roman Calendar, today, Wednesday, November 27, 2019, is the Feast of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Although not observed universally on a mandatory basis, this feast is is nevertheless an important one to commemorate as this powerful sacramental is yet another sign of the love that pours out from the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through the hands of Our Lady, she who is the Mediatrix of All Graces, despite our own ingratitude and infidelities. [This feast is one that, traditionally, had been celebrated solemnly in the Diocese of Brooklyn, and it was within the boundaries of that diocese that I was born on Saturday, November 24, 1951, three days before this feast day that year.]

This reflection was written in 2010 and published in two parts. It was three years ago now that it was combined into one part and revised slightly in a few places.

An original article is in the process of being written.

Finally, sixty copies of To Live in Light of Eternity, Volume 1, have been printed. I will make them available for purchase within the next few days, and they will be in my own possession to ship on Thursday, December 5, 2019. This is first of many book projects so that a selected sampling of the articles on this site can be put into hard copies before the ever-tolerant scions of the false opposite of the naturalist "left" comes to shut down sites such as this one.

Thank you.

Pope Saint Clement Knew That No One Could Disobey a True Pope

This is a republished reflection about Pope Saint Clement that includes the following passage from Dom Prosper Gueranger's The Liturgical Year:

With only one exception, all of the documents which attest Clement's intervention in the affairs of distant churches have perished with time; but the one that remains shows us in full action the monarchical power of the bishop of Rome at that primitive epoch. The church of Corinth was disturbed with intestine quarrels caused by jealously against certain pastors. These divisions, the germ of which had appeared even in St. Paul's time, had destroyed all peace, and were causing scandal to the very pagans. The Corinthians at last felt the necessity of putting an end to a disorder which might be prejudicial to the extension of the Christian faith; and for this purpose it was requisite to seek assistance from outside. The apostle had all departed this life, except St. John, who was still the light of the Church. It was not great distance from Corinth to Ephesus where the apostle resided: yet it was not to Ephesus but to Rome that the church of Corinth turned. Clement examined the case referred to his judgment by that church, and sent to Corinth five commissaries to represent the Apostolic See. They were bearers of a letter, which St. Irenaeus calls potentissimas litteras. It was considered at the time so beautiful and so apostolic, that it was long read in many churches as a sort of continuation of the canonical Scriptures. Its tone is dignified but paternal, according to St. Peter's advice to pastors. There is nothing in it of a domineering spirit; but the grave and solemn language bespeaks the universal pastor, whom none can disobey without disobeying God Himself. These words so solemn and so firm wrought the desired effect: peace was re-established in the church of Corinth, and the messengers of the Roman Pontiff soon brought back the happy news. A century later, St. Dionysius, bishop of Corinth, expressed to Pope St. Soter the gratitude still felt by his flock towards Clement for the service he had rendered. (Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B., The Liturgical Year.)

Dom Prosper Gueranger, O.S.B,, understood that was and can be no such thing as "resistance" to a true and legitimate Successor of Saint Peter.

Saint Cecilia: Valiant Model of Heroic Catholic Purity

This is a very brief, republished reflection on the heroic virtues of Saint Ceclia, whose feast is commemorated today, November 22, 2020, the Twenty-fifth and Last Sunday after Pentecost.

Work continues apace on the next original commentary.

On the Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Today is the Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This is a short reflection on the feast day, which is followed by an appendix including the description of the Presentation of Our Lady as found in The New English Edition of The Mystical City of God.

At the Point of No Return as Captain Kangaroo Holds Court

The circus is back in town, and it is being led by a latter-day Captain Kangaroo who is running a kangaroo court on Capitol Hill.

While the ongoing coup by naturalists who belong to the organized crime family of the naturalist “left” against the naturalist in the White House is interesting, we are simply witnessing what must happen to men and their nations when they are not subordinate to Christ the King and His Catholic Church. The “left” may not oust Trump, but they will prevail sooner or later as naturalism of any kind is evil and that which is evil can never be used to defeat another kind of naturalism.

The only defense against naturalism is Catholicism.

Have you read that before on this website?

Well, you can read it yet again.

Another original article will follow in about five days. Thank you.

Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Suffered at the Hands of Her Own Family

This is a republished reflection on the suffering endured by the very first member of the Third Order of Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, who suffered much at the hands of her family members and even at the hands of the poor whose welfare she provided so generously when her husband, Louis, was the Landgrieve of Thuringia.

Yesterday's original commentary, , has been revised to include an urgent statement, distributed via email, by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., the Chairman and Chief Legal Counsel of Children's Health Defense, about the inherent dangers of the vaccines that been developed at "warp speed" by Big Pharma that change the recipients' genetic structure irreversibily. Kennedy's statement is concise and very readable. Please make sure to read it within yesterday's commentary and to distribute his urgent statement as widely as possible.

I am working on the next commentary, although, reasonably speaking, it might be until Monday, November 23, 2020, the Feast of Pope Saint Clement, before it can be completed and posed.

As noted yesterday, any and all non tax-deductible financial gifts would be very helpful at this time. Thank you.

Saint Josaphat Kuncewicz Laid Down His Life to Do What Conciliarism Forbids

This is a republished reflection on the life and martrydom of Saint Josaphat Kuncewicz, whose feast is celebrated today.

Saint Jospahat Kuncewicz did what conciliarism forbids, namely, seeking the conversion of the heretical and schismatic Orthodox to the Catholic Church, she who is the one and only true Church founded by Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ upon the Rock of Peter, the Pope.

The current pretender in Rome has carried on the conciliar "tradition" of claiming that the Orthodox churches are simply a branch of "Christianity." This brief reflection refutes that false contention. Indeed, the very life of Saint Jospahat Kuncewicz is a refutation of that false contention.

The next original article is progressing, although it may not be ready for publication by Monday, November 18, 2019, the Feast of the Dedication of the Basilicas of Saints Peter and Paul as it deals with the ongoing coup against the current president of the United States of America. As per usual, the article attempts to make all the proper distinctions while illustrating yet again that it is only a matter of time before the statists get total control even if the current coup is unsuccessful.

Powerful forces of darkness have been let loose in the world by means of the errors of Modernity and the errors of Modernism, to say nothing of our own sins. We need to pray, fast and make many sacrifices for the restoration of a true pope on the Throne of Saint Peter and, obviously, to save our own souls as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary in these perilous times.

Jorge the Idolatrous Scoundrel Plays the Race Card

The title of this brief article is self-explanatory.

Another original article should be published by Friday, November 15, 2019, the Feast of Saint Albert the Great, and it is by that time that I should be ready to take pre-orders for Volume One of To Live in the Light of Eternity.

Let the "Communion Wars" of 2020 Begin!

There are several developments in the thoroughly un-Catholic world of conciliarism that have made headlines in recent weeks, including the courageous Alexander Tschugguel’s identifying himself as the man who organized the symbolic drowning of the Pachamama idols in the Tiber River.

This commentary, however, focuses on the courageous action of “Father” Robert Morey, a conciliar presbyter in the Diocese of Charleston, South Carolina, in denying Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., what purports to be Holy Communion during a staging of the Protestant and Judeo-Masonic liturgical abomination of desolation.

Unfortunately, for “Father” Morey, however, Jorge Mario Bergoglio has never met a pro-abortion politician he has not fawned all over and praised with great enthusiasm. To make matters worse, Timothy Michael Dolan, the supposed “conservative” “archbishop” of New York, damned Morey with faint praise while protesting that he, Dolan, preferred “persuasion.”

You get the idea.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

All Saints, pray for us.

Make Friends of the Poor Souls

One of ways in which we can practice true Charity is to remember the Poor Souls every day in our prayers. Terrible, terrible sinner that I am, one of my devotions has long been to the Poor Souls. To help the Poor Souls repay the debt that they can no longer pay for themselves is to acquire friends for eternity who will help us at the moment of our own deaths. Charity to the Poor Souls can help to undo our own lack of charity to others in this passing, mortal vale of tears. This is indeed the month of the Poor Souls. Let us show them our due attention each and every day of the year, especially in this month of November.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
