On the Feast of the Saint Francis de Sales, Who Charitably Championed Catholicism

Today, Monday, January 29, 2024, is the Feast of Saint Francis de Sales.

I am hereby republishing a brief and woefully indequate account of the Apostle of Charity and zealous foe of Calvinism.

Part two of my current series is being written. I will about the Texas border situation thereafter.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Do Not Go Looking for the Political Tooth Fairy in 2024, part one

There is little "new" to say about the farce of electoral politics that I have said hundreds upon hundreds of times before.

However, I make the effort now and again to remind the readers of this site that there is secular "solution" to any social problem.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Saint Peter Nolasco, pray for us.

Saint Agnes, pray for us.

Septuagesima Sunday, January 28, 2024

Today is Septuagesima Sunday.

Lent begins in but seventeen days.

Easter is exactly nine weeks way.

It is time to start our preparations for Lent, time to start thinking about the penances we are going to undertake starting on Ash Wednesday in order to make reparation for our sins and those of the whole world as we prepare to enter deep into the mysteries of the Paschal Triduum of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's Passion, Death, and Resurrection on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The purple vestments representing a penitential season of Holy Mother Church make their reappearance today to remind us that we must be deadly serious about the business of making the best Lent of our lives as we do not know whether this Lent will be our last one on the face of this earth--or whether we will even live to see the end of this particular Lent! Let us use this time well as the consecrated slaves of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, praying as many Rosaries each day as our states-in-life permit.

A new commentary will be published within a few minutes.

Our Lady of Dolors, pray for us.

Saint Peter Nolasco, pray for us.

Saint Agnes, pray for us.

On the Conversion of Saint Paul the Apostle (2024)

Today's offering a republished reflection on the Feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul the Apostle.

As I spent almost the entirety of the Feast of Saint Timothy dealing with the problems caused by an identity thief who stole half of my meager monthly Social Security payment, the next original article for this may not appear until Saturday, January 27, 2024, the Feast of Saint John Chrysostom and the seventy-second anniversary of my baptism at the hands of Father John Dushan at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Queens Village, New York. Penance gets better and better than ever in 2024!

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Saint Paul, pray for us.

Saint Peter, pray for us.

Biden Banks on Baby Butchery to Keep His Nominal Job

Today, Biden, tomorrow Trump, and that will the last I write about the farce of this year's presidential elections for a good long while as there is no point to repeating themes that I have been writing and speaking about for many decades now.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Saint Raymond of Penafort, pray for us.

Saint Emerantiana, pray for us.

Saint Ildefonsus, pray for us.

Jorge Mario Bergoglio’s “Thoughts” Are Irrelevant to Catholic Truth

Delayed by the unexpected death of a nine-month old computer caused by its “dotter board” and the problems associated with discovering whether the device was under warranty (it is not), this commentary, which I had expected to have published four days ago, is about part of Jorge Mario Bergoglio’s interview on an Italian television talk show one week ago today, that is, on Sunday, January 14, 2024, the Second Sunday after the Epiphany and the Commemoration of Saint Hilary of Poitiers and of Saint Felix.

The next original commentary on this site will focus on the fifty-first anniversary of the dreadful decision of the United States of America in the case of Roe v. Wade, January 22, 1973. My commentary on the naturally absurd farce called the presidential election season will follow in a day or two after that before returning to the Argentine Apostate once again.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Saint Agnes, pray for us.

Empty “Confessions” From Genocidal Miscreants

This is a follow-up to Monday's commentary.

Another new commentary, one dealing with Jorge Mario Bergoglio's latest interview, will be published either late tomorrow or early Saturday, the Feast of Saints Fabian and Sebastian.

Reflections on today's Feast of the Chair of Saint Peter in Rome and tommorow's feast (Saints Marius, Martha, Aubuchom, and Audifax; Saint Canute, King of Denmark; and Saint Wulstan) are to be found in this commentary.

Anthony Fauci Faces a Divine Reckoning At Which No Claim of a Faulty Memory Will Be Entertained

[Update on the Feast of the Chair of Sant Peter in Rome. I was writing a brief follow-up to this article on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, when the computer I have been using for the past nine months died. Although it took several efforts to arrange with overseas customer service representatives whose English is at times incomprehensible, a technician will replace the motherboard as the computer is still under warranty. In the meantime, though, as there are pressing matters upon which I desire to write, a  donor loaned me the money for a backup  computer, upon which this update is being written. It is my expectation to have the follow-up to this article posted by late  this afternoon, at which time I will begin work on a commentary about Jorge Mario Bergoglio's latest interview. Thank you for your patience.]

It is after midnight on the Feast of Sain the Paul the First Hermit and the Commemoration of Saint Maurus, the first disciple of Saint Benedict (and a patron of those suffering from rheumatism). The title of this commentary is self-explanatory.

The next original article to appear on this site will deal with the quadrennial farce whose first actual scrimmage takes place today in the State of Iowa, in which I lived and taught during the 1992-1993 academic year and also in which I spent a good deal of time from December 8, 1995, to February 12, 1996, campaigning as a campaign-endorsed volunteer speaker for Patrick Joseph Buchanan. Perhaps I will write that experience one time as, though I withdrew from all activity in electoral politics in 1999, it was very interesting.

Anyhow, I have procrastinated long enough. It is time to sober up and write about that which is naturally absurd.

Our Lady of Prompt Succor, whose feast is celebrated in some places today, pray for us.

Saint Paul the First Hermit, pray for us.

Saint Maurus, pray for us.

Pope Pius XI to Jorge the Red: "No One Can Be at the Same Time a Good Catholic and a True Socialist"

Did you know that are human beings at large in this world of madness who belong to something called the Transversal Dialogue Project Association?

I did not until I made the mistake of looking at the website of the Vatican in its conciliar captivity.

What did I find?

Again, you always ask the most pertinent and relevant questions.

I found that Jorge the Red Bergoglio addressed the members of the Transversal Dialogue Projection Assocatiton two days ago, Janaury 10, 2024, and that he encouarge them to continue work in their "fine programme" of Communist-Christian "dialogue."

This is a long commentary.

Pray daily for a true pope!

By the way, I was able to raise most of the money I need for immediate bills. However I still need to raise another $200 for a bill due today, and there is the additional $1700 that needs to be raised for the dental work detailed on the  Donations page. Your generosity would be appreciated. Thank you.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Saints Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar, pray for us.
